The Lunchroom
January 4, 2021
1:06 PM
The Academy students are filtering out of the gym at the end of their morning routine and heading towards the cafeteria. Faith Savell is, as usual, flanked by The Kid and she points him over to collect both their meals, as he always does. A pivot on her heels sets her sights on the latest addition to The Academy, Tiffany Rollins. Faith turns her nose up at the sight of the young woman. As to why Faith doesn’t care for her, pick a reason. An already accomplished star with a career behind her that's set in stone and someone who all the students flocked to on her arrival.
Faith Savell:
You’re in my seat.
Tiff, who was just keeping to herself until now, turns her head and looks up to see the Gold Star looking down at her. Faith waves her hand at Tiff to move, as she had made the error of sitting at Faith’s usual table.
Tiff:
Oh...sorry…
Faith Savell:
Yes, you should be. You can’t just waltz in here and sit at MY table. Do you STILL not know who I am?
Tiff is trying her best not to show any reaction, but Faith was clearly imposing her will, scolding her like a small puppy. She clearly didn’t care if she was a former champion or not, no one takes her seat...
Tiff:
Listen...I didn’t know…
Faith scoffs and rolls her eyes. She glances back and sees the other students are still in line, a smirk crossing her lips she leans in and clumsily slaps Tiffany’s drink over, spilling it into the girls lap.
Faith Savell:
Oops, sorry… I didn’t know!
Tiff is completely shocked by this, but before she could say anything in response, Faith leans in and speaks in a quiet, low tone through gritted teeth.
Faith Savell:
You know Exactly who I am. And I don’t care how many gross eboys and nobody wrestlers take you in, you’re still a pathetic little nobody that even your own parents didn’t want around.
Straightening up, Faith plasters a smile on her face and flicks her hair back over her shoulder.
Faith Savell:
And you’re still in my seat!
Tiff doesn’t know how to react. All she could do is oblige and stand up, trying her best to hold back the tears behind her glasses. She looks up at Faith again, who has an arrogant smirk on her face. Her fists clench up, but in the end, she still refuses to defend herself. She merely looks down at the floor, unwilling to look Faith in the eye.
Tiff:
Ok look...I know who you are…
She mumbles to herself, but loud enough for Faith to hear. She clearly wants to do something about this...
Tiff:
...I don’t want any trouble…
Faith rolls her eyes again and, with both hands, shoves the now standing Tiff. As Faith puts her full weight behind the shove she sends Tiff stumbling backwards and causes her to fall over the chair that was still behind her.
Faith Savell:
Look at you, no wonder you were run out of Millennium… you’re an embarrassment.
Picking up a napkin from the table, Faith tosses it down at Tiff and smirks before putting on a fake smile.
Faith Savell:
Clean yourself up, you look ridiculous.
Tiff couldn’t believe what was happening. She was completely humiliated. She pathetically gets back up, now with visible tears, wiping the napkin on herself as she tries to get away.
Tiff:
Just leave me alone…
She tries to get past, but Faith was standing in her way. Faith leans over her for a second, far taller than the pintsized Tiff.
Faith Savell:
Ew, you got tap water on my shoe. I know that poor losers like you don’t recognise quality, but these are designer.
Faith lifts her foot and slams it down sole first on the table. She points to a tiny little dot of water on the toe of her brilliantly white sneakers.
Faith Savell:
Clean that up before you go.
This catches her completely off-guard.
Tiff:
Oh come on man that’s too far. I ain’t gonna do that...
Faith just stands there, perfectly poised with one foot on the table and stares at Tiff with a cool stare, that same smirk on her face. Tiff just looks at her, distraught by everything that’s happening. After a moment Faith drops her foot and extends a finger into the chest of Tiff, who clearly just wants to be left alone at this point.
Faith Savell:
You have two choices here, Rollins. One, you clean up the mess you made, for ONCE in your life. Or two, we go settle this in the training ring…
Faith looks her up and down with a curl of the lip that’s dismissive without words.
Faith Savell:
Do you REALLY think you’re up to beating Me?
Tiff struggles to find an answer, stumbling over her own words and trying her best not to burst into tears.
Tiff:
Faith...seriously...I ain’t here to pick fights with anyone. Whatever your problem is, just drop it. Just leave me alone...please…
Faith fakes sympathy, pushing out her bottom lip and pretending to cry as she takes a whiny tone.
Faith Savell:
Awww is the wittle baby gonna cry? Can’t even stand up to the big bad trainee wrestler?
Tiff tries her best to hide it, but the tears behind her glasses are clearly visible. Faith’s fake crying morphs into laughter before she shoves Tiff aside and takes a seat, looking back at Tiff in utter disgust.
Faith Savell:
Ew, go cry in the shower like the rest of the losers. If anyone sees me talking to you they might get the wrong idea.
As Faith turns away from her, Tiff lets out a shrug of frustration as she is finally let go.
Tiff:
Whatever…
She whispers something offensive to herself as she storms off, leaving Faith alone with her smug smile, hinting that she may not be done with her just yet...
The Gym
January 5, 2021
3:26 PM
Rian Ellis just finished doing work out on his own in the school’s gym. He took a drink from his water and looked to exit the workout area when he was cut off by The Kid.
Rian Ellis:
Enjoying the view? Take a picture if you like looking at me so much. I’ll even pose for you if you want.
Ellis raises his arms out in a pose when The Kid rolls his eyes.
The Kid:
You idiot! You’re in my way and I’m trying to get a work out! As for you? It doesn’t matter what you do, you’ll probably lose to that grumpy asshole Olly anyway!
Rian rolls his eyes back at The Kid.
Rian Ellis:
What makes you say that? Because he gets to have a mystery teammate? That shit doesn’t matter. My team has me and I’m the truth, the answer, the big fundamental!
The Kid curls his nose.
The Kid:
Wait… those are a bunch of basketball players nicknames!
Rian Ellis:
I know! I was just about to get to the black mamba! But you don’t want to know why they call me that.
Rian smirks as The Kid shook his head and scoffs.
The Kid:
Shut up, weirdo! Enjoy teaming with that Ali asshole! He’s a selfish, egotistical prick. Kind of like you!
Rian Ellis:
Oh? Then I guess we’ll get along then. So why don’t you go worry about someone else because me? I don’t need it. I got this shit on lock.
Rian shoulder checks The Kid and walks out of the gym.
The Academy Halls
January 6, 2021
12:17
In the academy halls, in an area that had generally low foot traffic is Millie Smith with a half sketched Stitch character holding an enormous cereal bowl and yet to be drawn milk and cereal. Millie is currently video chatting with her family, currently with Kimi Smith who's wearing an off the shoulder, light blue top, a silver, thin chain necklace and makeup just finished as she uses the video chat as an excuse for a mirror. Millie, on the other hand, dressed in some winter wear. A red puffy snow coat with the hood down, along with some Timberland boots and black jeans.
Kimi Smith:
So I don't really know. He's cool, nice... but...
Millie Smith:
But?
Kimi Smith:
But...
Millie witnesses her sister chuckle and have a small epiphany on screen.
Kimi Smith:
But... we were talking about you and your opportunity. The one that's coming up soon, Vanilly.
What Millie doesn’t notice is Faizah Marshall slipping up behind her. She throws up two fingers resembling bunny ears behind Millie’s head. It takes everything in Faizah to stop herself from laughing out loud. Having had her fun, Faizah removes her fingers.
Kimi Smith:
Or should I say, Bunny Millie
Which confuses Millie greatly but Kimi points to direct Millie to her opponent behind her.
Millie Smith:
Oh...!
Faizah chuckles.
Faizah Marshall:
Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
Millie Smith:
Hi, Faizah.
Kimi Smith:
Hey, Millie's opponent.
Millie says with a little surprise in her tone while Kimi greets Faizah with her usual way, and just a hint of competish there. Faizah waves back at Kimi.
Faizah Marshall:
Hello stranger. I didn’t mean to interrupt. Wanted to have a little fun, that’s all. I’ll make myself scarce. Mill, when you’re done I’ll be around.
Faizah pats Millie on the shoulder.
Kimi Smith:
I think we're done anyway! Millie, remember what Dean mentioned to you.... Millie's opponent... you be nice to Millie when she's the Gold Star contender...catch you later guys, bye...
And Kimi closes the chat. Millie's mom's picture shows up on the screen as it was her account they were speaking on, with Millie closing her little laptop.
Millie Smith:
I thought you were joking about the fight forever thing.
Millie jokes while rubbing the back of her hand nervously
Faizah Marshall:
On the bright side, we don’t hate each other. Imagine being at each others throats like Dez and Olly; that wouldn’t be fun at all. This is unlike any other time we’ve faced. Whoever wins will have a chance to win the Gold Star. As much as I would love for you to have another crack--
Faizah stops her train of thought, for a woman who is normally brimming with confidence she appears uncharacteristically nervous. But she knows she needs to say what’s on her mind.
Faizah Marshall:
– no offense, I need this. This is more than my desire to finally get my chance to punch Faith in the face. I can’t afford to be another face in the crowd anymore. Being the Best At Everything sounds great, I have no right to call myself that unless I prove to everyone how good I really am. The triple threat match I won before break was my first singles match in the Academy. Do you have any idea how much that sucks? Being an after thought. Being relegated to tag team match every other week. I want to be a star, Millie. A gold star in this case. Our match is going to be difficult. I never wanted to be in a position where I need to beat you to get where I want to go. Friday needs to happen. I just hope this isn’t the situation that breaks us. Millie, I--
Faizah chokes up a little. She underestimated how emotional this was going to be. She regains her composure.
Faizah Marshall:
– I love you silly. Sorry. I um… you’re my best friend. Really has hit me that being a wrestler isn’t all fun and games.
Faizah wipes the tear from her eye.
Millie Smith:
When we first met you had just had things with Faith.....ignited.
Millie reflects back to their first match against each other, which happened after a battle royale. Millie then grabs a tissue and opens the pack up so Faiz can grab one for her eyes and such.
Millie Smith:
It's ok though... sometimes friends make the best matchups...
Millie offers her friend, her tearful best friend a sincere smile, her reasoning why they'd had countless battles so far. With a hand on either of Faiz's shoulders, Millie gives Faiz a straight look.
Millie Smith:
I won't let our match break us. I would be a Disappointed Millie if I lost, but one of my three favourite Academy people will be challenging if I did.
Millie hopes that would reassure Faiz
Millie Smith:
But I do want to be Gold Star Millie. If anyone will test me to be ready for it, it's you. You're really great in classes and a very hardworker, and you'll really challenge me as would Tiana or Trinity. It'll make me Strong Millie, strong enough to reach Gold Star status here...
And then Millie lowers her head to look Faiz in the eyes.
Millie Smith:
But I'll be your friend afterwards too. 100%
Using the tissue to wipe the tears away, Faizah places her hands on Millie’s shoulders.
Faizah Marshall:
No matter what happens, one of us will humble Faith. The Gold Star leaves with us either way, she won’t see it coming. I can pretty much say without a doubt the next time we face will be for the Gold Star. Obviously we have to fight forever right?”
A smile forms on Faizah’s face.
Millie lightly laughs knowing that to be true. She then puts her laptop in her bag, as the girls head off to get some lunch together
The Parking Lot
January 7, 2021
12:00 PM
It's snowing outside The Academy as Dez Ali who have not stepped foot on the grounds since his embarrassing victory over Olly at MWE's Coup De Grace event is seen making his exit from a parked black SUV. Stepping out from the driver's seat is his best friend Véon Ortiz. Dez Ali (wearing a black hoodie, black Levi's jeans sagging below his waist line and black UA Valsetz RTS 1.5 tactical boots) stares at the building, as Véon (sporting a black leather jacket with a hoodie, white v-neck t-shirt, blue jeans and black Nike sneakers) places his arm behind the neck and shoulders of Dez.
Véon Ortiz:
I know what you're thinking.
Dez looks at Véon.
Véon Ortiz:
Wish you were still in Boston.
Dez smiles and shakes his head as he carries his focus back on the building.
Dez Ali:
I was made a fool of in that "I Quit" match.
Véon Ortiz:
You won bro, that's all that matters. You didn't put a gun to Olly's head, he wanted to quit, that was on him.
Dez Ali:
Exactly man. I should have had that gun to his head.
Véon smiles and shakes his head.
Véon Ortiz:
Look. It's 2021.....
Dez Ali:
I know what your gonna say and I get it, maybe you're right. Gotta move on from the petty High School style feuds.
Véon Ortiz:
You have to look and see what's best for The MVP. Start fresh, set a goal and get it.
Dez looks at Véon.
Dez Ali:
You know what I want?
Véon looks at his best friend puzzled.
Dez Ali:
To get the fuck out of this cold.
Véon smiles opens the back of the SUV, Dez grabs an army green camouflage back pack, he is then handed a black UA duffle bag as Véon closes the back of the vehicle.
Dez Ali:
Thanks for the ride and chat bro.
Two hugs briefly and breaks it up.
Dez Ali:
Take care of Kassie.
Véon Ortiz:
You take care of yourself.
Dez nods and begins to walk in the direction of the front door of The Academy, Véon looks at him and shoots out.
Véon Ortiz:
Yo Dez!!!
Dez turns and looks at Véon.
Véon Ortiz:
Don't be a jackass. ......Be you!!!!
Dez smiles and nods.
Dez Ali:
I'll be me.
Dez walks as Véon drives off exsiting the parking lot, as the heavy snow fall continues.
