Tag Team Match
Drew Dream & Kory Kramp VS Strip Search
As the match started Zoe seemed more concerned with the Eldon’s possible attack than they were with their opponents tonight. Her divided attention allowed Kramp to take control in the opening minutes, catching Rian with a dropsault. ZoZo was back to her feet as quickly as possible, perhaps in response to Kiernan yelling at her to stay focused. It worked, and Zoe countered Kory’s diving crossbody with a superkick, swatting the Human Fly. Holding him in a front facelock, she dragged the pint sized wrestler in her corner, where Kiernan took the tag. Zoe then dropped Kory on her outstretched knee and kept him in position while Santos hit him with a vicious single leg dropkick on the side of the head. She hooked the leg and made the cover, but Dream was right there to break it up. Kiernan tossed the Human Fly back and forth with a few suplexes, showing the crowd that she was not only a dangerous striker but she was well versed in the technical aspect as well. Kramp got his break with a jawbreaker, but Kiernan caught him before he could reach his partner and dragged him back to the center of the ring. A forearm to the jaw rocked the young man, a quick flurry of strikes followed to complete the first part of the A.D.W. When Kiernan went for the roundhouse kick though, she missed the target as Kramp quickly ducked under it and caught the member of Strip Search with a backstabber. Nobody could stop him now from reaching an excited Dream, who finally could jump into action. Quite literally, with a springboard clothesline to Santos. As Kiernan stood back up to her feet, Drew grabbed her arm and twisted it, taking her down to the mat with an armdrag. He worked on that arm for several minutes, preparing the way for his Candy Bar fujiwara armbar. Kiernan screamed in pain as the submission maneuver was locked in, but thankfully for her Zoe was quick to save her with a kick to Drew’s face. The two men worked well over the following minutes, isolating Santos and insisting on that arm with moves like the assisted double foot stomp. But Kiernan found an opening when the duo went for the inverted/atomic drop combination. She blocked Kory’s attempt and rocked him with a nasty elbow to the temple. At that point, Dream chose to charge for his running single leg high knee anyway, but the Los Angeles born rolled to the side, dodging the blow that caught Kory instead. Drew went to check on his partner to apologize, allowing Kiernan to reach her corner and make the much needed tag. ZoZo entered like a fury, hitting the Airhead From Atlanta with a single leg dropkick. She then tossed Kory out of the ring, ducking the right hook thrown by Dream and kicked him in the guts before she planted him on his head with the Pole-Driver (Implant DDT). Kory was still trying to recover on the outside while his partner was being put through the wringer by Rian with stiff kicks. It wasn’t much later than the member of Strip Search gave him an Air Dance, just not the kind Drew would have probably enjoyed. Kramp tried to slide in to save his buddy, but he got there a moment too late. WINNER: Strip Search BY: Pinfall (Air Dance), 9:46 |
The scene opens backstage in the hallway, Kyle Butler, decked in his wrestling gear, is shadow boxing all himself. He has a huge match. Number one contenders contest for the Lockdown Championship is as big as it gets. Considering he took the fall in the tag team match against Seth and Neal last week, Kyle is trying to get himself into the zone. He doesn’t know he is not as alone as he thought. Wearing his now trademark black zip up hoodie, Neil Newman walks into the scene. He stands there stoically watching his best friend work himself into a frenzy. Kyle turns around. He stops what he is doing. He takes a deep breath seeing Neil stand there without a care in the world.
Kyle Butler:
You need to stop sneaking up on me like that, bud.
Neil tilts his head to the side.
Neil Newman:
Always keep your head on a swivel.
Kyle Butler:
Don’t I know it.
Kyle sighs.
Kyle Butler:
Thanks for stopping by.
Neil Newman:
I wouldn’t miss you becoming the #1 contender for the Lockdown Championship for the world.
Kyle shrugs.
Kyle Butler:
Eh. Maybe.
Neil shakes his head.
Neil Newman:
Don’t start.
Kyle Butler:
Do I even deserve this opportunity? Be honest. Me and Sophie had the perfect chance to reassert ourselves last week against two men who’s chemistry wasn’t all there. And we still failed in the main event of the show. I had a chance to put Atticus to bed. Blew that. Have I won two matches in a row
Kyle screams out.
Kyle Butler:
It is so f**king frustrating Neil. Every time I feel like I am taking one step forward I am moving two steps back. Hammerstein and Duke Andrews are no joke. It would feel great to get my hands on a member of A.P.E after they stole the tag titles from us. I don’t know if I’m ready.
Neil rests his hand on Kyle’s shoulder. Both members of the Golden Era lock eyes.
Neil Newman:
You’re not going to win with that attitude for starters. Do what I did. Losing to Henri wasn’t fun. I rebounded. Found my purpose. Bounced back in a major way. Stop going through the motions. Discover your reason for existing. All will be made clear. Think of it this way. As Lockdown Champion you earn the right to choose what stipulation your title defenses will be held under. Every defense can be a Pure Wrestling Rules match. That’s what this sport needs, more representation of what wrestling should be. Keep that in mind. Go out there and win.
With a smile on his face, Kyle nods.
Kyle Butler:
Thanks bud.
Neil Newman:
No problem. We’ll celebrate later.
Both men fist bump. Neil walks off. Kyle returns to shadow boxing as the scene fades to black.
Singles Match
Dustin Douglas VS Jada HashfordJada Hashford was ready for a fight, she always is. What she wasn’t ready for though was the Murder Train, back and badder than ever. The beginning of the match made the Backwoods Braggart reconsider a few things in her life as Dusty tossed her around with ridiculous ease, showing no signs of ring rust despite spending a whole year on the sidelines recovering from his terrible injuries. Jada tried to fight back, holding onto the ropes to block a german suplex attempt. With a headbutt the Mississippi Queen freed herself from the Big Nasty’s waistlock and unleashed a flurry of chops and forearms pushing the man back a few steps. Dustin rocked her with a big right hand, taunting Hashford to hit him with one of her own. Of course she didn’t back down, hitting Douglas with all her strength. Another punch from Dusty. Jada answering with one of her own unafraid to accept the Murder Train’s challenge despite the size disadvantage. It ended in the only possible way, with Douglas slamming her into the canvas with a hatch suplex after easily winning the exchange. Dusty maintained steady control over the next few minutes as Jada was clearly struggling against the much larger opponent. She was only narrowly able to avoid the Hyper Beam backfist by ducking at the last second, grabbing the big man’s legs and taking him down to the mat. She then mounted on top of him and rained down elbow smashes to his face, making the cover at the end of the onslaught for the first near fall of her match. After that outburst, she picked up Douglas but failed to whip him in the corner, ending up in that position instead. A moment later, nearly three hundred pounds of humanity were running at her at full speed, squashing her back into the corner. A pump kick forced Dusty into the corner, where he was met by Jada’s knee to the face. Determined to break the Streak, the Backwoods Braggart was taking any chance to wear the Murder Train down, including an illegal choke with her knee. Five seconds was as long as she could keep it before the referee separated the two of them, giving Dusty the chance to get up. And he looked so pissed. He charged at Jada, flooring her with a big boot. Then, in an impressive feat of strength, he hit her with the Big Bang Attack (deadlift german suplex), the Final Flash (trio of german suplexes, and a running senton for good measure. Incredibly, Jada kicked out, proving once again her great resilience. But it was only a matter of time before Dusty would lift her for his Giga Impact (high-angle rock bottom) to end this match. The streak, instead, was still alive. WINNER: Dusty Douglas BY: Pinfall (Giga Impact), 9:15 |
Dusty's celebration was cut short by Duke Andrews clubbing him from behind and taking him down. The only two-time Lockdown champion was wearing a REDD Thunder shirt, leaving no doubts on the reason behind this attack. He kept punching the Murder Train, wearing Chris Constantine's trademark red white and blue brass knuckles, almost saying that this was APE's revenge for putting the Walking Disaster on the injured list. Security finally came to the scene and interrupted the beatdown, dragging Duke away. The Epitome Of Perfection, who will be in action later tonight in an attempt to recapture the title he lost at Anniversary, was laughing maniacally at the fallen Big Nasty, who was now being attended by the medical crew, treating the cut on his skull.
Backstage we find an interviewer standing by eager to address the camera.
Brian Cross:
Hello everyone! My name’s Brian and I’m here for a very important job, and that’s interviewing one half of the tag team BreeTee Committee, Teagan Gallagher!
Brian nervously steps back so that she can have most of the screen time. It isn’t long before Teagan herself steps forward, a towel around her neck, which she is holding with both of her hands. Her blonde hair is done up in two braids as she gives Brian a confident smile.
Teagan Gallagher:
Tonight’s a big night for me, a chance to shine in singles action, to show the world that I’m pretty much the cat’s meow.
Teagan gives the camera a playful wink following her words as she does a little jump from foot to foot which must be some pre-match exercises she had been given by her tag team partner.
Teagan Gallagher:
I was hoping Bree would join us for this since she’s going to be in my corner when I go up against Clyde Eldon Jr. You see, it’s very important for us to keep BreeTee as a unit even when we’re competing in singles action. That’s how we make sure to keep ourselves in top shape.
Brian seems a little puzzled by her outlook on things but doesn’t dare question her on it, instead he asks something else.
Brian Cross:
Continuity between partners is always important, that’s for sure! What I was wondering though Teagan is how prepared are you for a singles match right now and how does it differ mentally from a tag match?
Teagan Gallagher:
Obviously for this I have to have my own back in the ring, be my own support system, and when you’ve been a tag team star for as long as I have… it’s a big change. I’m no stranger to mixing things up with some singles action, but it’s been too long since I’ve pulled a strong performance.
Teagan reaches out to give him a slight nudge with one fist against his shoulder.
Teagan Gallagher:
But who knows?! Tonight could be the night where it all turns around! I’d love some more bragging rights against a certain smug member of the Smith family.
Brian Cross:
I’ve never heard anyone use the words ‘smug’ and ‘Smith family” before in the same sentence, they all seem so nice to me! But you do know them better, do you think a win tonight could put your name in some singles title contention?
Teagan Gallagher:
Wouldn’t that be something? I’m not going to get too ahead of myself, first things first is that I want to grab people’s attention.
Brian Cross:
Well that’s something I’m sure you’ve had no prob-
Brian’s potential compliment was cut short as Teagan quickly found herself doused with water, the camera panning backwards to see someone who truly is smug, Matt Stone, standing behind her holding a now empty bottle of water upside down over the blonde’s head.
Matt Stone:
That get your attention?
Teagan turns around quickly as she is attempting to shake off the water, her eyes open wide clearly showing off her surprised reaction, before she gives Matt a shove with both hands.
Teagan Gallagher:
What’s the big idea?!
Matt Stone:
What was the big idea with interrupting me last week? Totally threw me off my game! I’m just returning the favour...and I wanted to see if the cat lady hated water as much as her precious animals do.
Teagan Gallagher:
Don’t blame me for your loss, maybe you’re not as good as you think you are.
Teagan snarks back at him as she flings some of the excess water over in his direction. Matt scoffs at her, tossing the bottle behind himself haphazardly.
Matt Stone:
Don’t be ridiculous, I’m as good as I’ve ever been and unlike you, tonight I’m going to earn a shot at championship gold and set the Millenium record for fastest title win since signing for the company.
Teagan Gallagher:
Or you’re just going to fall flat on your face again which is good for a laugh. We can use it for the end of the year blooper reel!
Matt’s clearly beginning to grow frustrated with the cat lady now.
Matt Stone:
Fall on my face? You’re the water girl on a two person team and I’m the one that’s on the blooper reel? Do you even have time for interviews? Shouldn’t you be bringing your superior partner some refreshments?
Teagan Gallagher:
I was giving a fantastic interview until someone got all jealous and ruined it, right?
Teagan turns to look for the interviewer in question but he has used this time and distraction as a chance for him to slip away without being noticed. She places her hands on her hips as she turns to look back over at Matt.
Teagan Gallagher:
Good job scaring him away!
Matt Stone:
Me? It was probably your snide comments about your own team that made things too awkward for him! Maybe if you thought about someone other than yourself for once!
Teagan rolls her eyes as she tosses the now wet towel directly in Matt’s face.
Teagan Gallagher:
Well thanks to you, now I need to change for MY big match tonight.
Matt Stone:
Your big match?
He shouts from under the towel
Matt Stone:
Your match is the bathroom break before my match!
He pulls the towel off to shout some more at her but Teagan has already walked off, leaving Stone to seeth.
Singles Match
Clyde Eldon Jr w/ Karen Eldon VS Teagan Gallagher w/ Bree SmithFirst single match for the scion of the Eldon family and, at least in the opening minutes, it was a nightmarish debut. Teagan didn’t allow the twenty-one to land a single move, constantly moving around him and taking him to the canvas with takedowns and suplexes. At some point Clyde had had enough and rolled out of the ring, signaling to his mother that he was done, and they should have left the match. Karen and CEJ began to walk away. Gallagher left the ring to chase them, finding Karen standing on her way, her arms raised and that grin on her face of someone who knows that Teagan wouldn’t raise a finger on her. Bree blocked Clyde’s path, but the younger Eldon quickly shoved her down, turning around and clocking the irish born with a forearm to the face. Grabbing her by the air, he slammed her face against the steel post before rolling the former tag champion back in the ring. Rather than following her, he climbed to the top turnbuckle and jumped with a frog splash, obtaining a count of two. The unprotected shot to the head from before left Teagan dizzy for several minutes. Add Clyde’s high octane offense to that and you can see why Gallagher was struggling to keep up. Stuck in the corner, Teagan was able to raise her leg to protect herself from CEJ running splash, kicking him in the face. From the second turnbuckle she went for a double axe handle but Clyde caught her in mid air with a dropkick. He hit a series of running sentons before eventually hooking the leg, but the cat lady raised her shoulder in two. Clyde charged in with his For You Dad but Teagan leaped over him dodging the running spear. CEJ was able to slow down and stop his run before crashing against the corner. As he turned around though, he was met by a superkick from Gallagher. Teegs went back to work, pinning Clyde with a stiff single leg running high knee, followed by the breathtaking Tee For Two 630 corkscrew senton. His mom saved him in this situation by grabbing his foot and putting it on the bottom rope. The ref never saw that and therefore interrupted the count. Bree, instead, noticed the matriarch’s action and confronted her. Their altercation on the outside distracted the referee right when Teagan was about to hit the Gallagher’s Way. She still connected the Exploder suplex and made the cover but by the time the referee turned around and started to count, Clyde had enough time to recover and managed to kick out. As Teagan complained with the referee, Karen handed a roll of quarters to her son who quickly hid in his fist and punched Teagan with. The former tag team champion went down like a ton of bricks and Clyde took advantage to pick up the win. WINNER: Clyde Eldon Jr BY: Pinfall (Punch), 9:29 |
Sitting in the locker room is West Long. The MWE star is just observing the screen off to the right; studying, recapping by the sound of the audio, and paying great attention to the ending.
Once it was done, he sits back and folds his arms. He signals the camera crew can come in and get their comments.
West Long:
It's something you don't pick up on in the ring, but yeah I see my mistake from last week.
He shook me with the knee and that just ain't happening again. I'm about growing as a person, as a fighter, mistakes were made, they won't be made again.
The Warwolf watched the footage, then glanced back at the camera as he concluded that sentence.
West Long:
Tonight's match isn't the same setup, but I've proved in NYC that I have no problem handling a triple threat fight.
I have no problem being the big threat that both opponents have to try and overcome.
I have no problem claiming that rich, rich prize for the winner
At which point the Warwolf was struck with a smile on his face.
West Long:
I mean I've fought for that strap before.
Not so much against the current champion, but that doesn't change things.
We're all here to make it.
Be the best and wear the gold to show it.
As far as I know, both my opponents have had tenure as champion.
Maybe both haven't held it here, but still.
He had pulled his head up halfway through, and the camera zoomed in slowly. The blue-lit West would begin to be lit by the dimmed light. Slowly it grew brighter, matching West's volume and confidence.
West Long:
Because that's going to be changing one way or another.
I'll see you out there, Jacky Daniels.
Triple Threat Match
Winner gets a shot at the Lockdown Championship at the PPV
Matt Stone VS Kyle Butler VS West LongWinner gets a shot at the Lockdown Championship at the PPV
Three men fighting for a shot at either Hammerstein or Andrews at the next pay-per-view, three different approaches to the match that combined perfectly in an exciting contest for the fans. West, as expected, started off strong using his size and power advantage to dominate the first part of the match. Kyle and Stone teamed up against the Warwolf but their effort didn’t produce the results they were hoping for. A double clothesline floored both of them and while Matt was quick enough to roll out of the ring, Butler wasn’t as lucky and got caught by Long who dragged him up to his feet and dropped some heavy chops to his chest. With an irish whip he sent Butler bouncing against the ropes on the opposite side, halting his run with a jumping knee before lifting him up over his shoulders for the fireman’s carry backbreaker. Matt slid back in the ring at this point and, from behind, shoved West out of the ring and tried to capitalize on his work with a cover on Kyle, who raised his shoulder in two. Stone and Butler were doing a good job at keeping West out of the ring, and the match. Every time the big man tried to climb to get back inside the ring, one of them would take a moment from beating up the opponent to kick, or punch, the Warwolf, knocking him off the apron. Sometimes, both of them did, like when they hit a double superkick that sent West flying flat on the floor outside. As for the two of them? They traded hard strikes and near falls, both of them knowing that their best chance to win was now that the most dangerous in the pack was out of commission. Matt came close to the win with the Piledriving Miss Daisy (stalling piledriver), Kyle with the inverted overdrive. The canadian even stole Butler’s Rooooooooooooooooooolllll TIDE!!, planting the former tag champion on his head with the headlock driver but Long grabbed his foot and dragged him outside, interrupting the count. Long was back, and he was on a warpath to make both of them pay for what they put him through. A pop-up one handed spinebuster on Kyle, a spinning scoop powerslam on Stone but in both cases the third man was there to break it up. Butler had his own chance to win the match with an olympic slam on Long. but the Warwolf kicked out in time. By the end of the match Long went to the top rope ready to connect the Big Boy Elbow Drop on Kyle, but Stone entered the ring and climbed to the middle rope ready to superplex the almost three hundred pounder. Whether that was a good idea or not, or whether he would have been able to pull it, we will never know. Butler kicked the middle rope causing both opponents to fall. Long on the outside, landing awkwardly on his shoulder, Stone flat on his back inside the ring. Butler didn’t hesitate and planted him with the Rooooooooooooooooooolllll TIDE!!, the original one. He hooked the leg for the cover, picking up a big win and earning a shot at the Lockdown Championship. WINNER: Kyle Butler BY: Pinfall (Rooooooooooooooooooolllll TIDE!!), 12:44 |
The scene opens with BROOKFORD’s face filling the screen amidst a black backdrop. All we can see is his face. He breathes heavily. Enough time has passed. He begins speaking.
BROOKFORD:
June 17th... you remember that Joey? I do. That was the last time we competed in the same ring against each other. On that day, you opted to screw with the hands of fate. I had no issue with you. My main objective was to walk down to the ring. Do my job. Leave. For some ungodly reason YOU decided to be a complete idiot. You tweeted, and I quote... ‘I’m gonna have my opponent begging, and crying for mercy’
BROOFORD rolls his eyes.
BROOKFORD:
Why don’t you remind the world what actually happened. I applied my half nelson choke, you were seconds away from passing out, another problem solved. A far cry from you forcing me to beg for mercy. Vin Halestead decided to cost me the match, awarding you a victory by disqualification. Wasn’t a complete loss, I was the one who left the ring with the last laugh by laying you both out.
Normally I am not a guy who gets emotional. For the past four months since that fateful day, occasionally listening to you promote yourself as the ultimate badass grinded my gears just a little. You pretend June 17th didn’t happen. You act like the so-called Death Dealer is an invincible force. Son, you weren’t fallible against me. You were damn near human, not exactly the dominant champion you have been parading yourself around as.
If I was given a chance to end your title reign, you wouldn’t be Chicago Way Champion. Your mystique would be a distant memory. You might be a Death Dealer... but I am a God of Destruction. There is only one man who was able to put me down by himself. Son, that man wasn’t you.
BROOKFORD shakes his head.
BROOKFORD:
As you can imagine I have not been in a good mood lately, having the light shut off, being attacked by god knows who would understandably put anyone in a foul mood. Little piss ants like Matt Stone talking a lot of nonsense a week ago claiming he would send me... ME... to open this program every week; I am goddamn tired of being trifled with.
BROOKFORD scoffs!
BROOKFORD:
I don’t expect tonight to be perfect.
The lights might go out.
Atticus Valentine might get involved.
Who knows.
Before our petty annoyances strike I promise one thing, the last thing you are going to feel is thankful this match is even happening. I am going to USE YOU as a carrier pigeon to send a message to whoever attacked me, when I get my hands on who’s responsible, it won’t be business. It’s personal. Very. Personal.
Static fills the screen.
Fin.
No Holds Barred Match
BROOKFORD VS Joey LeclairBROOKFORD looked nervous, which was quite uncharacteristic for him. Walking into a No Holds Barred Match against someone as dangerous as the Chicago Way champion with any sort of distraction clouding your mind is a recipe for disaster. And BROOKFORD paid for it in the early moments, allowing the champion to strike first. And Joey didn’t take it easy, hitting him with a loaded punch. The use of brass knuckles was perfectly legal tonight, and even though nobody was expecting things to go up to eleven from the get going, nobody could be really surprised when it comes to Leclair. Punch after punch the Chicago Way champion pushed the opponent back against the ropes where he continued the onslaught, leaving the Problem Solver dizzy against the ropes. Leclair watched him with a smirk on his face, taking a step back, he pulled down his elbow pad and seized him up, going for the Death Dealer Elbow Smash. The Underground Dynasty Champion ducked the strike and tossed Leclair over the top rope with a back body drop. Joey landed hard on the concrete floor, arching his back in pain. With no count outs to worry about, BROOKFORD seemed to have no intention to take the fight back inside the ring. Taking out all his frustration and anger, the New York born was all over the Chicago Way champion, throwing him against the barrier and onto the apron with a powerbomb. Not satisfied just yet, he pulled out a table from under the ring and set it up on the outside. He then brought his attention back to Joey who had now turned to him to hide the fire extinguisher he grabbed while BROOKFORD was setting up the table. He emptied its content on the Problem Solver and hit him with it. BROOKFORD partially absorbed the impact and stumbled back to the table. Leclair charged at him, but he got caught and slammed through the table by the Problem Solver’s spinebuster. None of them would stay down despite the countless chair shots and the use of all kinds of weapons, including the steel steps BROOKFORD brought inside the ring and rammed on Joey’s skull. Both competitors were bleeding from their head, trading the last, decisive shots. BROOKFORD seemed to have forgotten about Lyndon, too busy defending himself and dodging the chair shots Leclair was delivering. Likewise, Joey was so focused on his opponent that he never saw Atti Valentine entering the ring behind his back. Atticus called Joey’s name, forcing him to turn around straight Into The Fire (running single leg dropkick). He smirked at the champion laying down, glancing up at BROOKFORD and mouthing “You’re welcome.” Not taking any chance, the PS lifted Leclair and dropped him head first on the steps with a brainbuster, making the cover and picking up the win. WINNER: BROOKFORD BY: Pinfall (Brainbuster), 12:19 |
The match was over and BROOKFORD was the winner. But he didn't seem too happy with it, or satidfied. The Problem Solver didn't even let the referee raise his arm in victory. Instead, he picked up the steps he just dropped the Chicago Way champion onto and drove them on Atticus' face. "I never asked for your help." He grumbled at the now unconscious Valentine. BROOKFORD gave one last glance at him, the potential contender to the Chicago Way championship laying next to the champion himself. After letting out a short chuckle, he left the ring.
The Millennium Lockdown Champion sits on a steel chair in the middle of his otherwise empty dressing room. He's leaning forward, elbows on knees, and head bowed. He holds the Lockdown Title in his right hand. A heavy duty chain hangs from the dog collar around his neck.
HAMMERSTEIN:
Łééchąą'í...
Łééchąą'í is the Tohono Oʼodham tribe's word for Dog.
It's also the name they gave me when I was born.
Hammerstein raises his head slightly, just enough that his eyes are visible.
HAMMERSTEIN:
Anyone who knows me knows that I wasn't born Jacob Matthew Hammerstein. I was given the name that means "Dog."
The American Monster lowers his head again and shrugs.
HAMMERSTEIN:
What else would you call a half breed bastard kid?
You can't call him Al'í, which means "Son," because that would imply that you claim him as your own.
So you name him "Dog." And you treat him like one, too.
Hammerstein takes the chain in his left hand and rattles it around for a moment.
HAMMERSTEIN:
After I was adopted, my Uncle told me to put that name in the past. I tried, but every time I saw a dog chained to a tree or heard a dog bark, that name always stormed to the front of my brain…
Łééchąą'í
Łééchąą'í
Łééchąą'í
The Lockdown Champion whips the chain gently from side to side, the heavy steel links noisily clanking across the concrete floor. He chuckles softly.
HAMMERSTEIN:
Is it any wonder that I love dog collars and chains so much?
Duke Andrews, we played your little game at The Anniversary Show, and I beat you at it, might I add. For sixty minutes, we beat the hell out of each other, but in the end, I outfought and outlasted you. And I walked out with this.
He holds The Lockdown Title towards the camera.
HAMMERSTEIN:
This time? The roles are reversed. It's my title. It's my rules. And trust me, when this chain is part of the equation, it won't take a goddamn hour to kick your ass.
After I get done draggin' your ass around the Enterprise Arena tonight, Duke, you, the rest of APE, and the whole damn world are gonna know that this Łééchąą'í's bite is a whole hell of a lot worse than his bark.
Hammerstein gets up from the chair and walks out of the dressing room, the chain dragging the floor behind him.
Lockdown Championship Match
Hammerstein's Rule: Dog Collar Match
Hammerstein (c) VS Duke AndrewsHammerstein's Rule: Dog Collar Match
Another chapter in the rivalry between Hammerstein and Duke Andrews, once again with the Lockdown championship on the line. The stage though was much different from the Anniversary event when the two of them fought for 60 minutes in an iron man match. This one would definitely be shorter, and a lot more brutal. The referee hooked the two competitors at both sides of the chain and ordered for the bell to ring. Jacob and Duke began moving in circles, looking for the opening to strike the first blow. The champion did, but he got caught with an arm drag by the Epitome Of Perfection who immediately grabbed the chain from the mat and whipped Hammerstein with it. The Lockdown champion rolled out of the way and dodged the chain, quickly pulling himself up and charging at the opponent, taking him down with a clothesline. He then mounted on top of him and wrapped the chain around his fist, raining down blows on Michigan’s Favorite son who tried to protect himself with his arms. One of those punches made it through his guard though, cutting him right above the eye. The early bleeding didn’t seem to affect Duke that much, the former champion was used to this level of punishment and kept fighting through the pain, through the blood hindering his sight. As Andrews was standing groggily in the middle of the ring after a sequence of hard strikes from the Lockdown champion, Jacob took a run at the ropes. Duke quickly grabbed the chain and yanked it, putting an abrupt halt to his run. Hammerstein was down, coughing to regain his breath and massaging the sore neck. Doing so though left him exposed to the challenger’s floggings, the steel chain being used as a weapon and driven down on Hammerstein’s chest and back with viciousness. When he finally stopped, red bruises were covering the champion’s back, some of them had actually cut deeper, drawing blood from his skin. Still, Hammerstein kicked out in time. The thirst of violence of the fans was satisfied, the two fierce competitors showing their darkest side and using the chain effectively and creatively. Jacob fish-hooked the challenger with it, making him taste the cold steel in his mouth. Duke instead, other than the occasional whipping, used it to tie the champion up in the corner and unleash a series of kicks to the ribs and chest. With a suplex, he brought Hammerstein back in the middle of the ring, trying another cover but only getting a two out of it. Then, all of a sudden, “My Heart WIll Go On” by Celine Dion blasted out of the loudspeakers. Both Duke and Hammerstein immediately stopped fighting, turning their attention to the stage as REDD’s music kept playing. But it wasn’t the Thunder who ran out of the curtain, even though he was wearing the Walking Disaster’s old mask. That was, without a doubt, Dustin Douglas, slowly walking to the ring looking for revenge. Duke called him out and invited him to join in, Hammerstein instead saw the opportunity to close the match with a kick to the stomach and the Hammersteiner. WINNER: Hammerstein (STILL CHAMPION) BY: Pinfall (Hammersteiner), 15:41 |
Dusty was here for Duke, that was out of question. But he found Hammerstein standing between him and his target. The Murder Train growled at the American Monster, asking him to step back. But the Lockdown champion wasn't going anywhere, clearly pissed that his first defense was tainted by the Big Nasty's interference. One more time Douglas asked the battered champion to get out of his way, and when the proud Hammerstein refused, he planted him on the mat with the Giga Impact. He then went for Duke, but Andrews had already left the ring and was well on his way backstage, once again laughing at Dusty. Douglas clenched his fists in rage, blaming Hammerstein for letting his prey escape. He turned around, ready to take on him a little more and making him pay. But his eyes fell on the Lockdown championship laying next to the American Monster. Douglas picked it up and gave it a closer look before tossing it on Hammerstein's body.
Singles Match
Neal Durden VS Freddie HjalmarNeal was ready to fight the Promised, the Grand Prince Of Wrestling. It was a match the wrestling fans, not only the MWE fans were looking forward to, a one on one match between the Underground Underworld Champion and the HKW Global champion. The two top champions in the Underground, with all the implications the delicate situation of the Sacramento based company entailed. Freddie's music hit, and out walked the second generation wrestler dressed in full regalia and with a microphone in hand. Hjalmar said that he wouldn't be competing tonight, not against a lesser opponent. He continued saying that Neal is benath him, and the fact that he was the top champion in Underground, not the Welshman and his "second tier title" was all the proof they needed. "Beating him tonight" he said, "Won't do anything for my career here in MWE." As the boos rained down, Neal looked at Hjalmar and shook his head. The Promised continued by saying that he won't grace MWE with his presence until they give him what Neal's girlfirend took from him. His rightful shot at the Cloud Gate championship. Then, without giving the Anarchist or anyone else a chance to reply, he turned around and disappeared behind the curtain. WINNER: Neal Durden BY: Forfait, 0_00 |
Tag Team Match
Melissa Reeves & Jacky Rex Daniels VS The Royal Guard
Peyton Holland: “This is the first match in MWE for the Royal Guards, at least as a team. Porter instead made his debut two weeks ago in a losing effort against the Cloud Gate champion Melissa Reeves.” Ambra Monroe “One could argue that we’ve already seen enough of them.” Peyton Holland: “They surely made their presence known when they attacked Melissa and Jacky during their match at the Anniversary. Which, I presume, is the reason for this match.” Ambra Monroe: “Speaking of Jacky… Did you see him last week? That was kind of alarming…” Peyton Holland: “I’m sure that Melissa is wondering who she’s teaming up with tonight. Will it be the Rapscallion? Or the more trustworthy Iron Fist?” Ambra Monroe: “I’m pretty sure that it wouldn’t change that much. Both of them have a bone to pick with the Royal Guards.” Porter and Hammond wasted no time, attacking the opponents before the match could even start, striking them down with clotheslines. A quick flurry of punches to the two opponents, Porter taking a measure of revenge on Mel while Hammond lashed out on Daniels followed, until the two goons exchanged a quick look. Porter got rid of Melissa, tossing her out of the ring while his partner kept stomping Jacky down, Grabbing his legs, he then performed a catapult, tossing Jacky into Porter’s clothesline. Finally Hammond left the ring while his partner tried to end things quickly with a cover, obtaining a two count. Peyton Holland: “The Royal Guards already made it clear that they are not making this easy for Mel and Jacky.” The Cloud Gate champion took her place in the corner, watching as the two hulking guards dismantled her partner. Nothing fancy in their offense, consisting mostly in punches, kicks and some interesting combined moves like the big boot into a german suplex. Again the Rapscallion found himself with the shoulders pinned to the mat but, just like before, he was able to kick out before the three. Ambra Monroe: “It’s been a rough start for Jacky and his team, to say the least. Peyton Holland: “Thanks also to the preemptive attack, Jacky has yet to find his footing in this match.” But when he did, the music changed. He broke out of the sleeper hold in an… unorthodox way, biting Hammond’s arm to force the break. As soon as he let him go, The Rapscallion rocked the big man with a headbutt and followed with a flurry of chops. He then fired Hammond in his corner and charged with a running european uppercut, and Melissa took the tag. They used the five seconds they were allowed to work together to kick the crap out of Freddie’s bodyguard and now that Mel was legal, the kicks kept coming. The first right between the shoulders after flipping him over with a snapmare, the second on the chest as Hammond was arching his back in pain, leaving the front part of the torso completely exposed. The third was actually a knee strike, impacting to the side of his head with a thud. The Reaver tried to make the cover but Hammond kicked out. Ambra Monroe: “The Cloud Gate champion looks on fire tonight.” Melissa looked confident as ever, so confident that she even let Hammond tag out and welcomed Porter in with a smirk on her face. The fact that the member of the Royal Guard was fresh after resting for over six minutes didn’t matter all that much. Stepping inside the ring with Reeves tonight was like stepping in a lion’s den, the Cloud Gate Champion greeting her new dance partner with an array of kicks, aiming the leg at first until she caught him flush on the jaw with a wheel kick. With the opponent down, the champion went high risk with the Death From Above shooting star press, and she didn’t miss. The spectacular move though wasn’t enough to keep the man down. Peyton Holland: “For a pair that never teamed before, Mel and Jacky aren’t doing too bad. Their chemistry couldn’t compare to the Royal Guard’s one of course, but in the past minutes the unprecedented duo showed some interesting combination. Most notably a combination of Jacky’s The Wild Blue Yonder and a 450 splash from the champion. In that case Hammond was quick to save his partner. Things took a turn in the following minutes after Hammond caught her in mid air off the crossbody attempt and held her perpendicularly as he walked into his corner. Porter made the tag and ran all the way across the ring, hitting a running big boot to the side of Mel’s head. Hammond would use the momentum to drive the champion into the mat with a sidewalk slam, leaving his partner to make the cover while he made sure Jacky couldn’t make the save. There was no need for that as the champion kicked out in time. Ambra Monroe: “You have to give them credit, the Royal Guard are a damn good tag team.” And they kept proving through the next minutes, until Melissa was able to connect a tilt-a-whirl ddt and plant Porter on his head. Then she rushed to her corner, where Jacky was ready to go to war again. He had to face a rested Hammond, but he was surely up for the task. Hammond barely saved himself from the Ex-Oblivione, trying to piece himself together and make a comeback of sort. He nailed Daniels with a piledriver, but he failed to keep down the Rapscallion who got close to the win not long later with a spinebuster. After Porter rescued his partner and broke up the pinfall attempt, the Royal Guards tried to use the numbers game on Jacky, pushing aside the referee who tried to convince Porter to leave the ring. The official tried to impose his authority, threatening them with a disqualification but they didn’t seem to care. Melissa leveled things, launching herself on Porter and taking him off Jacky. The momentum of the fight took the Cloud Gate Champion and Hjalmar’s bodyguard out of the ring, leaving the legal men to battle. Not for long, as Jacky hit the Master Stroke and secured the win for his team. WINNER: Jacky Rex Daniels & Melissa Reeves BY: Pinfall (The Master Stroke), 19:13 |
Mel and Jacky were celebrating their win with the arms raised showered in the adulation of the ecstatic fans. Reeves glanced at the Rapscallion who turned his head to look at the partner. Or rather, at the title she was holding. Melissa noticed it, the two of them staring now in each other's eyes. Mel said that he wanted to take her title, all he had to do was to step up. Jacky didn't answer, his eyes never breaking contact with Mel. Then it happened, he pushed the champion to the mat, taking her out of the trajectory of Porter's clothesline!
He saved the champion but he had to deal with the Royal Guard now. And Hammond joined in, a two on one attack on the Iron Fist who was fighting valiantly to keep them at bay. Reeves was already back on her feet, taking it on Hammond and restoring the equilibrium. At least until Freddie entered the ring and hit the champion with his golden cane. With Reeves down, Jacky found himself now in a three on one situation. The numbers game were too much for him, there was only a way this was going to hand. Porter and Hammond picked him up and grabbed one arm each, holding him in position for Freddie to hit The Thorn.
The show ended with the Promised standing over Reeves and Daniels, the Cloud cGate championship raised over his head.
