Riot in Illinois V
Live from Enterprise Arena in Chicago, IL
Saturday, May 16th, 2020
—PREVIOUSLY RECORDED—
The sun was still up, a little before the beginning of the next Riot show. What looked to be a random parking lot, the focus was of Duke Andrews, the back of his black lifted Chevrolet truck as he leaned against the tailgate.
Duke Andrews:
I am firm on this one. I appreciate everything each of you do for me. Constantine, Redd, Envy. We are a group of brothers and for that, I know what I am walking into. There is no way I’m risking a chance at what I am going to do, affecting the three of you.
Duke turns his hat around, the Goon Squad logo in the center of the front, he added his Oakley sunglasses as he pushed off of the truck.
Duke Andrews:
What happens tonight is uncharted territory for us. I know that at the end of the night this is going to give Moretti and McCarthy ammo to suspend or fire me. But given that, I’ll fall on the grenade. And when I get the answer I need, I’ll drag that sorry sack of shit back to the rest of you.
Duke didn’t give the others a choice to respond, instead he took off in his truck.
The scene fades to black.
—LIVE
The camera picks up with his truck, the sun down as he pulls into the parking ramp of the Enterprise Arena in Chicago.
As his truck hits park, the tires screeching on the pavement in the process, it was almost a single fluid motion as he hopped out. His hat on backwards once again, his torso covered in a Duke Andrews “American Pain Experience” t-shirt. His jeans already dirty and distressed. As he hopped out, he grabbed the back door and opened it, grabbing something before slamming the door shut.
Duke Andrews:
That door better be open!
A swing with one of the most beautiful metal baseball bats, the American flag design down the barrel, black tape on the handle, the door dents at the handle before popping open.
Duke Andrews:
Access granted.
Duke tossed the bat in his shoulder as he walked into the back of the building. The couple of security guards scurrying away from him as he stopped, looking in the first room.
Duke Andrews:
Get Moretti on the horn and let him know his worst nightmare just showed up.
With that Duke continued down the hallway as Riot began.
Things come into focus and as it does we are treated to the very sight of Crystal Zdunich sitting down backstage as her eyes move to that of the cameras. She takes a long deep breath as she begins to speak.
Crystal Zdunich:
Long behold it is me and I just want to say that it actually feels good to be sitting here in front of the camera. I have been at this for how long exactly?! It seems like it has been a while and it’s a case of the same old fucking shit. I get put in these matches and honestly nobody expects me to win.
Christina shakes her head as she shrugs her shoulders.
Crystal Zdunich:
Nobody expects me to do anything. I guess in everybody’s mind I am merely here for a paycheck and nothing else. I am just here to take up a roster space and collect a paycheck. I know that is the very thing that is on everybody’s mind. Who is Christina going to fuck up against next?! Who is she going to make look good in the ring.
Christina pushes the camera as she points at it.
Crystal Zdunich:
I didn’t come to this company to be a glorified jobber. I came here to win. I came here to be a champion and the moment I came to the Riot roster is the very moment that I have had my eyes on that of the Junior Heavyweight Championship. It’s what my eyes have been hovered in on and every time it seems like I have built up some momentum or positioned my way towards it just seems like another moment that I get pulled away from it.
Christina sighs as she speaks some more.
Crystal Zdunich:
And now I find myself in the opening match against somebody who is looking to make their debut here. This is bullshit! I shouldn’t be curtain jerking. I should be better than this. I should be busting my ass and working my way up through the card so that I could take down Hayley Halsey. Yet instead I have to curtain jerk and against Omari Johnson for what reason exactly?!
Christina shakes her head.
Crystal Zdunich:
I am sick of this shit. It’s time to take my destiny into my own hands and it’s going to be a slow process one match at a time. So bring it Omari but you are merely just a small step in what I am really after. Just wait because it’s almost showtime.
With that Christina cracks a wicked grin as we go elsewhere.
Singles Match
Omari Johnson VS Christina LopezSpotlights on Omari Johnson in his MWE debut. You gotta give the 23 years old from Atlanta credit for generating a lot of buzz around himself and his signing with the orange brand, including an appearance at Dark Web II. Time to see what he can actually bring to the table, and if he can live his own hype. And he was off to a good start, showing great athleticism that immediately created some problems to Lopez. As soon as the bell rang, he started off with a barrage of kicks that put Christina against the corner. He fully exploited the position of advantage to blast Lopez with a jumping knee to the face, He quickly shifted to the apron and climbed up to the top rope, catching Christina in an inverted facelock and taking her down with a reverse tornado ddt. Once the initial impetus of the rookie died down, the experience gap started to show. The pace remained quick even after Christina took control with some arm drags, The Blossoming Rose brought out the heavy artillery, hitting Omari with the Enziguri kick and quickly following up with Smell The Roses handspring moonsault for a near fall. Christina scored another near fall with the Flashing Lights, and for long moments it seemed like she would be taking this one home. Johnson had different plans for his debut, and struck when the opponent least expected, when he found himself on the apron in a precarious position. He ducked Christina’s right hand and was quick to stun her with an enziguri. Tapping into his energy reserve he jumped straight on the top rope and from there back inside the ring with a superman punch. The move called 911 only gave him a two count, but it turned the tides in his favor. And once finding himself in the driver’s seat, Omari never left the spot, showing off his vast arsenal of high-flying attacks and almost getting the job done with the Amazing-Sault. Lopez’ comeback was handled by the rookie without breaking much of a sweat. He stopped the momentum she was building with a ddt, kipping up right back to his feet and eagerly waiting for her to get up from it. As soon as she did, he went in with his Gangsta’s Paradise superkick to pick up the win. WINNER: Omari Johnson BY: Pinfall (Gangsta’s Paradise), 8:33 |
"Superhuman" by Blacklist Regulars plays as Omari Johnson kneels on one knee next to Christina Rose, before standing up.
Amy Maynard:
What an impressive first match for Omari Johnson.
Sir Figgles:
Impressive debut, impressive win. I'm intrigued to see more of this kid inside the square circle.
The referee raises his arm in the air as The Human Superman takes in first win in MWE.
Amy Maynard:
Welcome to the MWE Omari.
Just then the camera guy standing in the corner behind Johnson, slams the camera hard behind Omari Johnson's head. The Human Superman drops to his knees, immediately using his left hand to grab the back of his head.
Amy Maynard:
Oh my God, what was that?
Sir Figgles:
The camera guy just smashed the camera to the back of Johnson's head.
Amy Maynard:
But why?!
Sir Figgles:
I don't know, you go and ask him.
Meanwhile the camera guy tosses the camera to the outside. He followed this by taking off the hood from over his head and black baseball cap.
Amy Maynard:
That ain't no cameraman!!!
Standing in the ring looking down at Omari Johnson is the newly signed Riot superstar Khalil Washington III (sporting a black hoodie, long black jeans and black Tactical boots).
Sir Figgles:
It's Khalil!!! One of many newly signed MWE wrestlers.
He goes to grab The Human Superman from behind, but he gets stunned with a Pele Kick.
Amy Maynard:
Pele Kick from The Human Superman.
Sir Figgles:
And the 2014 NCAA Division I Amateur Wresting Champion is stunned.
Amy Maynard:
You've done your homework.
Sir Figgles:
Always!
Khalil stumbles backwards into the ropes, while a clearly hurting Omari Johnson, struggles to get back to his feet. He stumbles around, before going after Khalil. Throwing rights, and lefts like a crazy man.
Amy Maynard:
Omari with a Fury of lefts and rights.
Sir Figgles:
He's lost it!!!
He finally gets off from Khalil and screams out. He moves back, clearly getting ready to takedown Khalil with the superkick.
Amy Maynard:
He's setting up for the Gangster Paradise super kick.
But before he could do anything, another guy with a hoodie, enters the ring and blindsides Omari with what appears to be a nightstick.
Sir Figgles:
What the hell?!
Amy Maynard:
Omari takes another hard shot to the back of his head, this time from a nightstick, from an unknown masked man.
The guy also wearing a black hoodie, black gloves, black tactical cargo pants and black tactical boots, is also wearing a black ski-mask under the hoodie. Omari slowly trying to return to his feet, is struck with the Drive By Spear by KW The Third.
Amy Maynard:
What a devastating spear.
Sir Figgles:
The Human Superman does not look so super now.
The two guys holds up a helpless Omari Johnson when suddenly "Playing With Fire" by Plan B begins to play loud. The red lights are now shining in the ring as former WBO Boxing Heavyweight Champion Marcus Ali Jr (wearing a black v neck under shirt, black Levi's jeans and black tactical boots) makes his way out on stage.
Amy & Sir:
Oh my God!!!?
Amy Maynard: Look who it is....
Sir Figgles:
It's Marcus Ali Jr. The former WBO Boxing Heavyweight Champion.
Amy Maynard:
This is surreal.
Sir Figgles:
It's amazing. We have a former WBO Heavyweight Champion and a NCAA Division I Champion on Riot.
It's as if he sees a ghost as he makes his way to the ring. Khalil and the masked guy continues holding Omari in place, he is not fighting back. As he enters the ring and Playing With Fire fades, the red lights remain. Marcus pulls out the microphone from his jeans' back pocket.
Marcus Ali Jr:
The Human Superman Omari .......Johnson. Sorry it has to begin like this, but the last I stood in the ring with you Omari, you kicked me in the face and walked away, never looking back. Look at me when I am talking to you.
Khalil roughly grabs under the chin of Omari, so that he can look up to Marcus Ali Jr.
Marcus Ali Jr:
After all my family did for. We gave you opportunities on a silver platter like no other and what you do? You stabbed me in the back, and you walked away from us, with the audacity to believe, that you were done with us. Well as the way we see it, we're not done with you. We will never be done with you, you little......
Marcus pauses trying to calm himself down. He then kneels down in front of Omari, their eyes directly connected
Marcus Ali Jr:
Here's the deal. You've been given a second chance. Yeah that's right, you can thank me later, because these guys, they got it out for you. So you can make this right for yourself. All you have to do Omari, is pledge your allegiance to The Bad Boyz. All your headaches, all the consequences that are coming for you will disappear. Just like that!!!
Marcus snaps his finger to get his point across.
Marcus Ali Jr:
Now if you don't pledge your loyalty, there will be severe consequences of the likes that even for you, it will be too much.
Marcus Ali Jr:
Since I am a good guy, I'm giving you Omari some time to consider. You have one week to give me an answer.
Marcus stands back up, he signals at Khalil and the Masked Man to bring Omari back to his two feet. As they follow instructions, suddenly Marcus spins round and connects with the Iron Fist.
Sir Figgles:
Iron Fist!!! The Iron Fist and Omari is out cold.
Amy Maynard:
Clearly a lot of history between these guys.
"Playing with Fire" begins to play again, as a three guys look down at Omari who is out cold. The Bad Boyz make their exit from the ring, as the camera first focus on Omari who has not moved a muscle since being struck with the Iron Fist.
Sir Figgles:
Clearly Riot just got a whole lot more interesting.
Marcus, Khalil and the Masked Man make their way up the ramp as the scene closes.
Singles Match
Andrew Wilkow VS Tiny DesWilkow came to the ring with a can of #SandstormEnergy reminding all the fans watching at home that “It’S sUcH GoOd ShIt!”. But once he entered the ring it was immediately clear that he wasn’t here to play games, manhandling Destiny from the get going, first with a series of violent chops to force her in the corner and then with a running big boot after sending her all the way across the ring. His offense kept coming hard and heavy, the Appalachian Mountain Monster was literally dismantling the woman, lifting her over his shoulders in a fireman’s carry position and dropping her on his knee with a gutbuster. Destiny was struggling to find her footing in a match that, so far. had been dominated by the big man. But with the exception of some quick flurry of kicks that inevitably ended with Wilkow punching her in the face to stop her momentum, her offense never seemed to be much of a concern for Drew who almost ended the match quickly with a pumphandle slam. Things changed around the five minutes mark when Des was able to take the big man down with a chop block and followed with a shoot kick to the back of the head. Judging by the way Wilkow went down, this seemed to be it, but as a matter of fact, it barely gave her a two count. The unpredictable style of the high-flier was finally bearing fruits now that she had some space to maneuver. She used the ropes a lot with springboard variations of crossbody, dropkick and even an enziguri, finally taking the big man down and pinning him after a series of repeated running sentons, but all her effort only gave her a two count. And when Wilkow got up, he looked like he had had enough of playing around. He was grunting incomprehensible words, staring at Destiny and taunting her to hit him with her best shot. She kept her calm and went back to work on Andrew’s legs, chopping him down to his knees. And only then she delivered her best shot, the Tiny Hammer shining axe kick. But once again, this time much to her surprise, Wilkow kicked out. And took back control rather quickly, surprising Destiny with a vicious headbutt and, holding her by the hair, delivering some of those stiff right punches to the head and face of the blue haired girl. The referee asked him to let go, reminding him that pulling the opponent’s hair was not allowed. Little it mattered to WIlkow who had Tiny exactly where he wanted her for his Country Roads jackknife powerbomb. WINNER: Andrew Wilkow BY: Pinfall (Country Roads), 8:22 |
Amy Maynard: "Another victim for Wilkow, the Sandstorm cure is really working miracles for him."
Sir Figgles: "It's such good..."
Amy Maynard: "Yeah, we all know how that goes, no need to repeat it again."
Sir Figgles: "It's our main sponsor, Amy. I'm just promoting Sandstorm Energy. It's so good you won't believe it's legal."

Sir Figgles: "It's our main sponsor, Amy. I'm just promoting Sandstorm Energy. It's so good you won't believe it's legal."
Veronica Chandler:
Duke, Duke, Duke what were you thinking my man?
A video from the ppv plays:
Duke Andrews rushed down the ramp and entered the ring, grinning as he saw Spencer so close to retrieve her title. Which made APE’s revenge all the sweetest. The Epitome Of Perfection pushed the ladder and caused Kristina to fall all the way to the waiting floor outside. One of the referees checked on her and immediately called the paramedics who rushed to the scene as Duke walked backstage.
Veronica Chandler:
Do you really think that Kristina would let that slide? Do you think she will not get revenge for this? Do you think she will not cut off your balls and give them to CM? All of this and more could very well be in your future all because you decided you wanted to try and be a big shot in Millennium. Well i hope your 15 minutes of fame were worth it sir because the End Is Near for you and your APE girlfriends.
Veronica bows her head in a moment of silence out of respect for the death of Duke’s career
Veronica Chandler:
Then there is Hayley Halsey, our new Junior Heavyweight Champion. This should have been your crowning achievement and your day for celebration but instead it is your day of reckoning. You see Hayley tonight is not about that title oh no, tonight is about how much pain Kristina can dish out to you and how much blood you can lose before you pass out.
Veronica laughs
Veronica Chandler:
You should have begged Backdoor Gracie to post[one this rematch or at least called in sick for the show because I assure you Kristina is going to hurt you. Win, lose or draw Kristina is going to hurt you. Ask your new cohorts what Kristina is willing to do to those that betray her.
Kristina walks into frame looking very psychotic
Kristina Spencer:
Tonight we are going to play in my playground. Tonight I will finish what I started at the PPV, Tonight I will MAKE YOU BLEED!!!! I will take back MY title, tonight I will show MY dominance, Tonight the Spencer family regains everything that was taken from us and then everybody will join the hall of pain and then they will truly know you do NOT screw with the Spencer family!!
Kristina brings her barbwire bat to her face and stares at it hypnotically
Kristina Spencer:
RUN HAYLEY RUN!!!!
Battle For The Briefcase Match
Round One: Singles
Kate Steele VS Jenni AndersonRound One: Singles
The first match for the Battle For The Briefcase tournament saw the former Lockdown champion Kate Steele taking on the woman who main evented Dark Web II coming short in her shot at the Riot championship. The opening minutes were all Jenni, the Queenpin wasted no time to catch the opponent with a snap german suplex. As Kate stood up to her feet, she was greeted by a flurry of knife edge chops. The Steele was able to counter the irish whip attempt and send Anderson against the ropes. The Queenpin ducked under the clothesline attempt and immediately slowed down, catching Kate with a second german suplex, this time with a bridge for the first near fall. It was clear that something wasn’t working for Steele, completely outclassed by the opponent in the first moments of this match. Jenni controlled the pace of the match opting for a mat based offense to keep the high-flier grounded. Steele eventually made it back to her feet and tried to break free from the side headlock with an elbow strike to the ribs. It wasn’t particularly strong, but more than enough to get free and double Anderson over in pain. Clearly the Queenpin was still dealing with the aftermath of the brutal four-way match she’s been part of, those ribs of hers still damaged probably form that horrific fall from the stage through a table. And Steele was determined to take full advantage of this situation, attacking with those martial arts kicks the sides of Jenni, incapacitating her long enough for Kate to inflict more damage with a rib breaker. She would then climb to the top rope and jump for an elbow drop, but she found nobody home. Up to her feet, Jenni tried to regain control but her movements were far less fluid and even the strength she put in those kicks was limited by the constant pain from those bruised ribs. Kate once again picked up a near fall with a springboard crossbody and when Jenni kicked out immediately transitioned into a Boston crab. The ropes weren’t too far for Anderson who quickly reached them and thus got out of Kate’s submission. Steele went right back on the opponent, wasting no time and blocking the kick Jenni sent to keep her at bay. But before the former Lockdown Champion was able to take her down with the dragon screw, Jenni rocked her with an enziguri, sneaking behind Steele and roll her over for the Adora Bomb, only getting a two out of it. The final moments of the match saw a little of back and forth action with the momentum swinging in Kate’s favor, once again her kicks to the ribs doing the trick. But then Anderson hit her Bad Luck Cutter and the tides turned for the last time. The Queenpin mercilessly grabbed a handful of hair to drag the opponent to her knees and drape her leg around her shoulders, finishing her with the Cash Advance that, indeed, allowed her to advance to the second round. WINNER: Jenni Anderson BY: Pinfall (Cash Advance), 9:18 |
Sir Figgles: "And Jenni advances to the next turn without breaking a sweat."
Amy Maynard: "Come on now, that's a lie. Kate gave her a run for her money tonight."
Sir Figgles: "I'm thinking of some joke about money because, you know, Jenni has plenty of it.."
Amy Maynard: "I would love to hear it but sadly the show must go on. On to the next segment we go!"

Sir Figgles: "I'm thinking of some joke about money because, you know, Jenni has plenty of it.."

Backstage, a casually dressed Kelsey Spencer sits slumped in a chair. She barely lifts her chin to speak to the camera.
Kelsey Spencer:
I’ve been doing a lotta thinking this past week. There’s been a lot on my mind when it comes to this sport, this promotion, and my place in them. Dark Web II was a moment I’ve been working towards for a long time. To be honest, it’s a night I was beginning to think would never come. For someone like me to challenge for the MWE World Championship -- a championship that’s been held by the toughest, craftiest competitors to ever grace a Millennium Wrestling ring -- it’s … something I didn’t think could ever happen. A pipe dream.
My entire career here -- almost the last two years of my life -- has been spent challenging myself. Going up against bigger, better opponents to see if I could rise to the occasion. And we’ve seen it, through battles with Heath Williams and his Revolution, and wins like the Riot Rumble Match, I do have some of the skills necessary to get the win. Just not when it counts the most.
Duke Andrews said something recently. Now, like most people with common sense, I normally don’t take anything Duke Andrews has to say very seriously. It’s mainly idle threats and incoherent ramblings, especially when it comes to his social media. But one thing he said recently has been replaying in my mind, ever since the end of that Steel Cage Match. “You’re gonna fail, just like every other time.”
He had a point. Every time I’ve challenged for a sanctioned MWE championship - whether it be the Tag Team, Junior Heavyweight, Riot - I’ve come up short. Why should I ever think that I’m capable of winning the World Title, then? The fact of it is that I just don’t have what it takes to be champion. Even a Deprivation DDT, one two three wasn’t enough for me to win the gold. I put it all on the line, went beyond my limits and I’m not your World Champion. Chris Constantine is. You could say, “But Kelsey, he had an unfair assist!” No, that’s an excuse. I knew APE would be a factor. There’s never been a time when they’re not. To pin the blame on that would be cheap. I made the rookie mistake of taking my eyes off an opponent, and it cost me.
Kelsey sighs.
Kelsey Spencer:
Maybe Vincent Moretti coming in is the only reason I was even considered for that match to begin with. I’d never even been thought of as a top contender before he became the Riot General Manager. I guess it makes sense. I don’t have the traits of your typical MWE Champion. I don’t look like Melissa Reeves. I don’t talk or act like Chris Kane or Chris Constantine. Victoria Salinas has those qualities more than I do.
She pauses, then leans forward in thought.
Kelsey Spencer:
...Am I standing in her way? If I hadn’t been in that match, would she have won...? Chris Constantine was quick to dismiss me as a non-threat to his title reign. Was he right when he said I was the reason for the MWE Title match being featured on Night 1 instead of 2…? There’s so many questions buzzing around my head, and I don’t have a clear answer to any of ‘em. The biggest one of all is … should I … should I hang it up? Should this be where I accept that I’m not the top level competitor I strive to be? Maybe it’s time for me to step down and let someone else try … let Victoria have her one on one shot against Constantine this time. We all know she’s got what it takes to be world champ; she’s been there five times already. If I did, it would’ve happened by now. I mean, looking back at the past 12 years of me doing this … through VoW, PAW, HYBRID, Millennium … I’ve always been nothing more than a good hand. Someone to keep the real stars on their toes. No promoter looks at me and says, “That’s who I want representing my brand.”
She breathes a droning sigh.
Kelsey Spencer:
It’s about time I stopped living in a fantasy. I think I need to consider retir--
Kelsey stops mid-sentence before abruptly standing and leaving.
Battle For The Briefcase Match
Round One: Singles
Leia LeBeau VS Asher MilesRound One: Singles
This was a lot more than a first round match in the Battle For The Briefcase tournament, and it was clear from the look on Leia’s face as she walked to the ring. A mix of focus, desire of revenge and obvious concern for what Asher proved to be capable of. It was just one week ago that the Antares put the Showgirl’s boyfriend in an hospital bed at the end of a gruesome Ambulance match. And less than 24 hours later, he made it clear that he wasn’t done messing with the young couple yet, costing Leia her match against Brien Storm. The two competitors were standing at the centre of the ring, waiting for the bell to ring. Miles instead didn’t wait a second to taunt Leia, mocking her injured boyfriend. LeBeau didn’t lose her calm, resisting the urge to punch that arrogant smirk off his face until the bell finally ring. And then she struck with a sudden crane kick as beautiful and perfectly executed as it was deadly, instantly knocking down Miles. The Show made a quick cover but Asher kicked out in two. Showing constant progress and improvement, Leia was looking impressive tonight, staying on top the majority of match. Miles, who couldn’t be 100% after that match only one week ago was mostly relying on counter attacks, unable to build much of a momentum. More than often though he was laying on his back, courtesy of LeBeau’s stiff kicks, always with absolute precision. The tides turned when Miles surprised the Show with a throat strike, and followed with a sitout jawbreaker. With Leia down he attacked her with some vicious stomps. Leia eventually managed to roll out of the way and get back to her feet, but Asher was right back on the attack with a clothesline that tossed LeBeau out of the ring. He couldn’t pass the opportunity to dive through the ropes with a suicide dive. And Leia was waiting for it, countering it with a superkick in mid air. The Show quickly entered the ring, knowing all too well how dangerous her opponent is on the outside, having tried that first hand on the last Riot before the ppv. Asher was trying to end this quickly know, looking a bit winded and probably still carrying over some injuries from Dark Web. But neither a tiger suplex nor the running shooting star press could keep the very determined Leia down. Asher climbed to the top for his diving knee strike but the climbing was too slow as a result of Leia’s kicks to his leg. LeBeau was quick to hit him as he was perching on the top rope with a superkick to the shin, causing Asher to fall forward inside the ring. And when he picked himself up, The Show hit him with her Jet City Jive (Claymore kick in the corner) for a quick cover. A moment before the three the referee noticed that Asher’s foot was under the bottom rope, and stopped the count. Leia dragged him toward the centre of the ring where she applied the Sin City Sleepover, wrapping those long and strong legs around his head in a figure four necklock that left Miles no chance but to tap out. WINNER: Leia LeBeau BY: Submission (Sin City Sleepover), 10:20 |
Amy Maynard: "She did it! Leia beat Asher Miles!"
Sir Figgles: "You gotta be kidd... Hey watch out!"
Asher hit LeBeau from behind while the showgirl was celebrating her hard fought and deserved win. And God only knows what he would have done if it wasn't for Qiyara Singh rushing to the ring to rescue Leia and chase Miles away. She offered Leia a hand and helped her back to her feet. Leia thanked her smiling as she noticed that the indian was wearing a Dangerous Donnie shirt.

Backstage we find the beautiful but dangerous black haired Irish woman known as Sophie O’Brian. A low chuckle escapes her lips as she ponders what will go down tonight.
Sophie O’Brian:
Keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer. Truer words have yet to be spoken, especially of us, Megan.
Sophie shakes her head.
Sophie O’Brian:
I find it odd that I’m here on Riot and I find it even stranger still that I’m booked as your tag team partner. It’s obvious that you cannot do things on your own, it’s obvious that you desperately need help. In this case you need my help.
A confident smirk forms.
Sophie O’Brian:
You know, I’m tempted to just leave you to the wolves. Let you fend for yourself. It’s the smartest strategic move. Yes, I’d no doubt suffer a loss. But the long term goal of hurting you, of making you suffer would be fulfilled. And I would be closer to achieving my goal of taking your championship.
Sophie winks.
Sophie O’Brian:
Pray that I’m in a good mood. See you later, Megan.
Tag Team Match
Rhett Adelson & Qiyara Singh VS Megan Rydell & Sophie O'Brian
There was no love lost between the strange bedfellows Sophie O’Brian and the Intercontinental champion Megan Rydell. The main reason for them being at the outs is the circumstances that lead to Meg winning the title in first place, the attack orchestrated to take the northern Irish out and sneak her way back in the tournament[, trying to put the blame on Melody Lennox. Despite all of this, Sophie really did her best to overcome their differences and get on the same page, even accepting to let Meg start the match against Rhett Adelson without making any argument. And things got real interesting right off the gate with Rhett surprising the Intercontinental champion with a fast and furious offense, greeting her with a series of hard chops and sending her against the ropes, catching Megan on the rebound with a jumping knee that left her stunned. Adelson held her in an inverted facelock and took a run toward his corner, stepping on the turnbuckle to flip backwards and drive Rydell down with a shiranui. Qiyara made the tag while her boyfriend was performing the move and climbed to the top turnbuckle, jumping off and driving both knees to her face with a meteora to the seated champion and hooking both legs for the first near fall. Not the easiest start for Rydell, but the first ever MWE Intercontinental champion eventually found a way to turn things around and take back control despite Rhett and Qiyara working well together with quick tags. Sure, she had to bend some rules to do so, poking Adelson’s eye to escape the headlock and pushing him against his partner who was waiting in the corner, knocking the indian off the apron. Dizzy after bumping heads with Qiyara, Rhett’s first concern was, obviously, for his significant other. Turning your back to Megan inevitably leads to her dropping you on your head with a reverse hurricanrana, that was a lesson Rhett learned tonight. Rydell immediately hooked the leg for a cover, but the former Sixth City Pro Rock&Roll champion kicked out. It was the perfect opportunity to make the tag to Sophie, but Megan seemed to be second guessing the idea. A slight hesitation that allowed Rhett to get back to his feet and hit her with a right hand, sending her against the ropes with another irish whip. This time Rydell hooked her arms on the rope to stop her momentum, leaning backwards and raising her boot to the charging Adelson face as he charged in, transitioning to the apron with the same motion. And then she took him down with a springboard missile dropkick, finally allowing O’Brian to enter the ring. Sophie rushed in and clubbed Rhett from behind with a clothesline, preventing him from reaching his corner. And then she delivered her volley of strikes, pinpoint punches and kicks to wear down the californian and set him up for her array of suplexes. This earned Sophie a near fall or two, but the real close call for Adelson came after the Death Of Wisdom codebreaker that required Qiyara’s prompt intervention to save the match. A minute later and it was Singh back in the ring after what many would call a blind tag. But O’Brian spotted it and caught the indian with a back elbow. Rhett charged in but Megan caught his ankle and tripped him over then dragged him outside the ring and whipped him against the steel steps. Sophie and Qiyara traded hard kicks in an intense and even exchange with the indian getting the upper hand and taking O’Brian down with the Qi To Your Heart (low kick/side push kick/jumping knee combination ended with a jumping kick to the chest). Megan made the save and made sure to point that out to her partner. Sophie fought back and planted Singh with a running ddt, obtaining a near fall as well. The end came when Megan and Sophie tried some teamwork, with poor results. A miscommunication between the IC champion and her partner allowed Qiyara to push O’Brian against the corner where Megan was perched onto, causing Rydell to lose her balance and fall to a seated position on the top rope. The 540 spinning hook kick took her down, a butterfly suplex sent her in the middle of the ring and Rhett’s Nightfall Splash after the tag pinned her down for the three. WINNER: Rhett Adelson & Qiyara Singh BY: Pinfall (Nightfall Splash), 14:47 |
Amy Maynard: "This match showed how important chemistry is in tag team matches."
Sir Figgles: "You can't expect Megan and Sophie to have any. They never tagged together and i don't see them doing it again in the future."
Amy Maynard: "Certainly not, but if I'm being honest with you, they fared better than I thought they would."
Sir Figgles: "Yeah, I was expecting one of them walking out on the partner, honestly."
We cut to an undisclosed but very luxurious looking location in the arena. Being wealthy has its perks and “The British Bombshell”, leader of the Glorious Golden Era, has made sure that all of the perks are available to her and her squad. Currently the only individual we see, seated upon a comfortable black leather sofa, is Glory Braddock. She is dressed in a lovely tan feminine sports coat, a white silky blouse, denim jeans, and black high heel patent leather pumps. Her long blonde hair hangs unrestrained to shoulder length.
Glory Braddock:
First of all, you’re welcome. All tyrants have an end, and that end is named Glory Braddock. I brought an end to the tyranny known as Devin Hearst and his pathetic little run as Riot Champion. So yes, you’re welcome. Now some of you will argue that Henri Black is the rightful champion, or at least has a share in the end to Devin’s reign.
The Best in the World chuckles as she shakes her head.
Glory Braddock:
Remember who PINNED the champion? That would be me, The Best in the World. Who was the one who actually defeated the Riot Champion with the title on the line at Dark Web II? That would be me, “The British Bombshell” Glory Braddock. By all accounts I should be the Riot Champion right now but due to a technicality Henri Black happens to have a legitimate claim as well.
A smirk forms upon her face.
Glory Braddock:
Well, we’ll see just how legitimate his claim is. I am anxiously awaiting the decision, the announcement about how this situation will be resolved. What I will say is that I am under now delusions here. I know that even if I am handed the Riot Championship here tonight, as it should be, that I will end up still having to deal with Henri Black yet again.
Braddock nods her head.
Glory Braddock:
Believe it or not, Henri, I do respect you. And I look forward to facing you again. Ours will be a rivalry that MWE does not soon forget. When we step into the ring, we steal the show because we are two of the very best performers not just on Riot but in this entire company. Understand, though, that I have your number and whenever this is ultimately settled between you and I, it will be me with my hand raised in victory, and it will be me crowned as the new MWE Riot Champion.
Battle For The Briefcase Match
Round One: Singles
Keelan Jayce VS Brien StormRound One: Singles
Both competitors arrived to this match with wind behind their sails after winning the respective matches at Dark Web II, According to many, these two could be the wildcards of this tournament; Jayce’s unpredictability and Storm’s never ending pool of tricks made them both troublesome opponent for every competitor who will have to deal with whoever will come out victorious tonight in the next round. Amy Maynard sang the praises of the Australian, stating how impressive he was in his match against Envy. Figgles made an inappropriate joke about her colleague having a crush on Keelan and got hit in the back of the head for it. Inside the ring instead, Jayce was, once again, nothing short of impressive, constantly flipping and cartwheeling and performing all sorts of gymnastic movements to dodge Brien’s strikes and catching him with some acrobatic kicks. soon knocking him down to the mat and connecting the True Blue (double foot stomp into a moonsault). Storm kicked out in two. As often happened to him, Keelan overdid a tad with his tricking techniques, allowing Brien to take advantage and floor him with a big boot. The Favorite Worst Nightmare slowed the pace of the match, limiting Jayce’s movements with various rest holds. This made the central part of the match a lot less fun to watch than the first minutes, although there was still room for some interesting spots. Finally breaking free from Storm’s grasp, Keelan hit the ropes with a cartwheel, bouncing off with a back elbow, at least in his intentions. But this time Brien was one step ahead, catching him in mid air in a waistlock and driving him down with a german suplex, bridging straight into a pin for a near fall. The Captain stayed on the lead with a less than fancy offense, relying on direct strikes to wear down the Australian. A barrage of punches and kicks that didn’t stop, not even when Keelan was stuck in the corner. The referee had to intervene to stop the onslaught, but Brien went right back on the attack with some knees to the midsection before lifting him and setting him up for a rope hung ddt. The last minutes of the match kept the referee very busy with a number of near falls. At first it was Storm who went close to the three with a fireman’s carry throw onto the knee and a snap dragon suplex. But then Keelan came back with a second wind, hitting a combination of lightning quick punches and kicks and following with a facecrusher. Then came a standing shooting star press for the first of a series of near falls, the other being after a sidewalk slam, a swinging neckbreaker and a top rope double rotation moonsault. But Brien was just refusing to stay down, showing once again his great resiliency. Jayce kept going at him with more kicks, some being off cartwheels and other acrobatics, knocking down the Favorite Worst Nightmare right in the centre of the ring. It was the moment everyone was waiting for, another chance to see the spectacular double gainer splash known as The Aussie Salute, picking up the three count and advancing in the tournament. WINNER: Keelan Jayce BY: Pinfall (The Aussie Salute), 12:06 |
Sir Figgles: "Hey look, your darling got the win."
Amy Maynard: "I just said he's been pretty impressive at Dark Web II. That was the first time I had the chance to see him live and his unique style really stuck with me."
Sir Figgles: "Amy and Keelan sitting on... OUCH!"
Amy Maynard: "I just said he's been pretty impressive at Dark Web II. That was the first time I had the chance to see him live and his unique style really stuck with me."
Sir Figgles: "Amy and Keelan sitting on... OUCH!"
Riot cuts backstage to the catering area where there seems to be some small celebration going on that’s about to take place. It’s not as extravagant as what an in-ring celebration would be, but there’s still tables full of food and drink nearby. A random stagehand tries to sample some of the food, but before he can reach it, a security guard comes in and stops him, pointing him to a sign that says “RESERVED”. The stagehand gets bummed out and walks away from the scene before the security guard departs.
Voice:
So… when is the party going to start?
The scene pans revealing both Kyle Butler and Neil Newman of the Golden Era. Both of them are carrying their newly won tag team championships.
Neil Newman:
Soon enough. You can’t wait just a little bit longer?
Kyle Butler:
I’m hungry as hell! Gold isn’t the only thing I have an appetite for! You know that!
Neil Newman:
You clearly didn’t have enough to eat after we won the tag team titles.
Kyle Butler:
It was nice of Glory to set this up… even if we didn’t quite get the sweep…
Voice:
I know, right?
The scoff and the disgust comes from the new MWE Jr. Heavyweight Champion Hayley Halsey who doesn’t look pleased when it comes to the mention of the controversial Riot Championship match of Dark Web.
Neil Newman:
Hayley! It’s been a while! Much congratulations to you! Well deserved!
Hayley Halsey:
Thanks! Congratulations to you too! It’s almost as if things were nearly a perfect symmetry! Isn’t it funny how we had SO many people mocking us and telling us we were too old fashions and yet, we all end up in a situation such as a ladder match… you know… one of those matches that our generation is SO addicted to…
Kyle Butler:
Yeah, so many wrestlers have a hard on for matches like that…
Hayley Halsey:
It’s just as disgusting as the hard on Donovan Keane has had for his little whore. Pop quiz though… who won those ladder matches? You know… the match that NOBODY expected us to win?
Kyle Butler:
That would be US! ROLL TIDE BABY! WOO!!!!
Hayley narrows her eyes with some slight annoyance.
Kyle Butler:
What?
Neil Newman:
She didn’t go to Alabama like you did…
Kyle Butler:
Oh…
Hayley Halsey:
Everyone doubted us! “They’re SO old fashioned and BORING and blah blah blah… we have nothing better to say than the same generic shit”... but WE were the ones that won those ladder matches… matches that “in theory”... we weren’t supposed to win. The Glorious Golden Era has REESTABLISHED PURE TRADITIONAL WRESTLING VALUES to Riot… well… almost…
Hayley lets out an angry sigh, lamenting the plight of Glory Braddock.
Neil Newman:
Don’t worry, Hayley. Soon enough, Glory is going to have the championship she deserves and the Glorious Golden Era is going to establish true, traditional dominance… and the best part is there isn’t a person that can say that we don’t deserve it since we beat imbeciles like the BreeTee Committee and the likes of Nina, and Christina and Krissy Spencer at their own game!
Kyle Butler:
We did! And you get to show someone like Krissy Spencer what wrestling is REALLY all about tonight…
Hayley Halsey:
Damn right! You’re both lucky though. You get the spoils already… I have work to do but hey… it’s Krissy Spencer, right? The LESSER Spencer if you ask me. Wait… I just remembered something. Isn’t Krissy Spencer a Hall of Fame member in GCW just like you two?
Kyle Butler:
...is she? I don’t remember her ever being inducted into the GCW Hall of Fame. When did this happen?
Neil Newman:
2018. It’s just that it’s hard to remember because she didn’t even show up for her own induction that year.
Hayley Halsey:
How the hell did SHE get into ANY Hall of Fame? I don’t remember her doing anything relevant in GCW… at least not to the extent of a Glory Braddock or a Jenni Anderson or… a… as much as it sickens me to say… a Victoria Salinas.
Kyle Butler:
Beats me! She’s got to be the lamest Hall of Fame member in GCW history…
Hayley Halsey:
Not when a fucking INTERVIEWER is in there too… it doesn’t make Krissy ANY less of a drag. I remember… before I joined you guys… how much she dismissed me. I remember she just labelled me as a whiner… and how when she beat me… that IDIOT on commentary was all… “I GUESS LIGHTNING DIDN’T STRIKE TWICE LOL!”
Neil Newman:
She dismissed you after you won the Junior Heavyw…
Hayley Halsey:
That would be the MWE SUPER GLORIOUS CHAMPIONSHIP!
Neil Newman:
Right! Great name for the title by the way. But yes, she dismissed you because she had “more important things” to deal with.
Kyle Butler:
Like SHE has the right to decide what’s important? She’s not even the most important Spencer on the roster. She’s just pissy because of this whole APE thing and the fact that her cousin couldn’t get the job done.
Neil Newman:
That’s why you’ve got this… because she doesn’t carry the passion for that title than you do. Some stupid grudge and her family business is more important to her than being a champion and that’s her problem. Not yours.
Hayley Halsey:
Look, she wants to get involved with this stupid grudge against APE, fine! I don’t care about that. That’s none of my business. It’s her that is making such a stupid decision there and if she wants to dismiss me as “unimportant” then she’s just another idiot on the roster that had dismissed me as NOTHING! I went out there and I shocked the world because NOBODY and I mean NOBODY gave me a chance! For weeks I was saying that I was next in line… and FINALLY… at Dark Web… that’s exactly what I proved! But she is DONE disrespecting me and she is DONE disrespecting this championship! Tonight? I SHOW HER what a REAL WRESTLING CHAMPION is all about… and me shutting her up for good tonight will REALLY show this company who TRULY runs the show around here!
Hey Krissy… BOW DOWN TO WASHINGTON, BITCH!
Kyle Butler:
Washington?
Hayley Halsey:
I’m graduating from there in December. What? I wasn’t going to pursue this industry without a college education. I’m not stupid… not like KRISSY is anyway. Still… this rubber match? It belongs to ME… and I’m going to STILL be the SUPER GLORIOUS CHAMPION and prove to those IMBECILES that I’m not a one hit wonder… I’ll see you both here later… when I settle this nonsense with Lesser Spencer MY WAY…
Hayley leaves the scene, confident in her abilities to remain the champion. The Golden Era is also expressing confidence in her and of course, the Golden Glorious Era standing tall in the end as the scene cuts out.
Security is trying to get to Duke as he has no business being in the building tonight.
Duke Andrews:
Get the fuck off of me.
Pointing with the end of the bat, the security guards keep a six foot distance. Not to be forgotten, Duke has his buck knife on his right hip. The leather pouch keeping the blade contained.
Duke Andrews:
I ain’t going no where until Moretti shows his crippled ass!
Duke continues to point the bat as he walks towards the group of security guards who keep moving back, keeping the distance to keep the peace or what little peace that was left.
“The Second Amendment” by Who TF is Justin Time plays as Duke forces his way past the security guards and to gorilla and out to the ring. Not taking his usual slow pace, he winds up and bashes the steps with the bat before hopping onto the ring apron. It wasn’t long before he had a mic handed to him.
Duke Andrews:
Go figure, Moretti talks a big game on Twitter and then can’t even hobble his broken ass out to see me face to face. So since he can’t actually back up his claims of looking into who the pussy is that couldn’t come at me face to face.
Without hesitation, and on cue he points the bat to the screen.
After the credits roll, we find APE outside the Arena. There's Constantin, there's Alan Envy and REDD Thunder, holding an ice pack on his head, still looking dizzy after his match.
Chris Constantine Junior:
I'm proud of you guys. We showed once again that we run this show.
The MWE champion looks at his trusted friend, the Walking Disaster.
Chris Constantine Junior:
Hey big man.. How are you feeling?
Before REDD can even answer, Chris cuts him off.
Chris Constantine Junior:
You and Duke did gr... Hey, where's Duke?
Redd shrugs his shoulders.
Alan Envy:
He told me to wait outside, that he would be here soon..
Chris Constantine Junior:
Go call him, I'm treating you guys for dinner. I know a place here in Chicago.
Alan heads to the door they came out from. As he opens it, he finds Duke laying on the floor, completely knocked out.
Alan Envy:
Fuck... QUICK, A DOCTOR!
REDD and CCJ rush to the door to check on their fellow APE. And on this scene, the show comes to an end.
Duke Andrews:
Of course because those in the office don’t particularly like the outlaws in APE, was I checked out? Yup. Did I get a couple staples in my head? Yup. Was there follow up? Nope. Was Redd checked for a concussion? Nope. Was my pay temporarily revoked? Yup. So with that said, I’m supposed to trust Moretti and McCarthy? I’m supposed to take what they say as the gospel? Get the fuck out of here with that nonsense. I left a deadline and not a single person admitted what they did.
Duke lowers the microphone as he chuckles.
Duke Andrews:
I have to admit that I’m not surprised. Anyone who blatantly attacks someone from behind is nothing more than a coward. I’ve heard it for days, ‘bUt YoU dO iT aLl ThE tImE’ but in fact that’s not even close to a true statement. I wouldn’t expect anything else from the sheep in this company to be fair. What you get from APE is expected and never when you’re walking out of the arena. It’s to your face and fair. Just because you don’t understand the numbers game, doesn’t mean it’s from behind you ignorant prick. But with all that said, I know who it wasn’t. I know that even with all the bad blood from the McMillion clan, I’ll give Christian Simon and Kelsey the benefit of the doubt that they wouldn’t ever stoop to that level. But outside of that, the roster is wide open. The rest of every lazy fuck in the back on Riot, your days are numbered. You might not have done it, but you know a piece of the puzzle and since you didn’t confess, you’re just as guilty.
With that he drops the microphone in the center of the ring and jumps out. Bat over his shoulder as he heads back up the ramp. Making his way back to the curtain he’s met by Vincent Moretti, GM of Riot.
A slight eye roll from Duke before he takes the bat and swings, causing the security guards to once again jump out of the way from the metal bat swinging through the air. The barrel of the bat connects and snaps the cane that Moretti used to walk around with.
Duke Andrews:
You fucking tried to clown me on Twitter knowing damn wel you didn’t even want to look into this. So the blood of whoever this was, falls on your hands and McCarthyìs hands. Let that sink in. I will eliminate every single second rate wrestler you have on this show and then I’ll do the same on Wednesday. And there isn’t a damn thing you can do about it. Remember, this is all on you.
And at that point Duke pushes the barrel of the bat into Morettis chest, pushing him backwards. Moretti doesn't look intimidated at all, staring right in Duke's eyes and daring him to "do it". There's a moment of tension between the two, before security guards swarm to the ring and drag Andrews away.
Junior Heavyweight Championship Match
Hayley Halsey VS Krissy SpencerInstantly cashing in on her rematch clause, Kristina Sencer entered the match determined to take back the title she lost at Dark Web II because of Duke Andrews’ interference. And she started the match with an aggression that took Hayley off guard, charging at her with a running clothesline to take her down. The former champion didn’t hesitate to go ground and pound, sliding into a headlock and using the free hand to punch Halsey’s head. The New Vainglorious struck back with some elbows to the ribs, hitting the ropes to gain some speed as she charged at Krissy who was ready for her and took her down with a Thesz press, pouring down lefts and rights to the face. Halsey quickly escaped and used the ropes to pick herself up but there came again Spencer, screaming like a woman possessed as she charged at Hayley who sent her out of the ring with a low bridge and took her out with a pescado. The initial burst of the former champion eventually died down and Hayley began gaining some ground, finally managing to land some effective offense like the floatover backbreaker, worth a count of two. The pace picked up now, Hayley drilling Krissy with a tornado ddt, Spencer kicking out in two and making a comeback with a volley of forearm shots: Krissy then went for an irish whip, countered by the Junior Heavyweight champion who sent the challenger against the ropes instead. Spencer though proved to be once again one step ahead of the opponent surprising her with a springboard stunner. The champion kept fighting back the two women giving everything despite the first signs of fatigue beginning to show. Hayley went for a german suplex but Kristina landed on her feet behind the champ and hit her with the Handful Of Fun boobplex, making the cover for another near fall. Hayley quickly regained control and got real close to retain with a standing moonsault after dodging the Hand Of The Wicked and floor Krissy with a jumping knee to the back of the head/running bulldog combination. A minute later though she missed the So Ridiculous corkscrew moonsault, offering the opening for Krissy to come back once again with her second, or rather third wind. The Junior Heavyweight championship seemed to be on its way back to Krissy’s waist, Hayley now in great difficulty, unable to turn the tables and take back control. Luckily for her, she had two guardian angels watching her back in Kyle Butler and Neil Newman who marched down the ring and attacked Kristina, who wind up winning the match but not the title. WINNER: Kristina Spencer (HAYLEY HALSEY STILL CHAMPION) BY: DQ, 13:01 |
Amy Maynard: "This is getting frustrating for Kristina. First APE costed her the title, now the Golden Era the rematch..."
Sir Figgles: "This is when she should realize that it's time to give up."
Amy Maynard: "I doubt the thought would even cross her mind."
Grayce Kelly:
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, Grayce here.
She smiles at the camera.
Grayce Kelly:
I'm sure you all remember what happend last Sunday at Dark Web II, in the main event of night two. I'm obviously talking about the controversy surrounding the Riot championship match, with both Henri Black and Glory Braddock ending the night with their arm raised in victory. The question you all have been asking is, who won the match? Who is the new Riot champion?
Grayce takes a short pause for dramatic effect.
Grayce Kelly:
Well, the Riot general manager Vincent Moretti called both Glory and Henri in his office to resolve the matter. I've been informed that the meeting just ended, and hopefully we can hear his decision first hand from one of the protagonists.. Hey look, that's Henri Black! HENRI!!
She calls out for the Blackstar who's heading toward the exit, apparently not hearing the young interviewer.
Grayce Kelly:
HENRI! Can I borrow a minute of your time? I wanted to ask...
Henri Black:
No.
He abruptly cutse her off, not even turning around to look at her, or slowing down for all that mattered. As the Revenant leaves the Arena, our intrepid interviewer spots Gloey Braddock leaving the opposite way and decides to try her luck with the British Bombshell.
Grayce Kelly:
Hey, Glory...
But just like her rival, Braddock keeps going her way, leaving Grayce with absolutely nothing, underwhelmed and probably a tad frustrated.
Vincent Moretti:
Something's wrong, Grayce?
Asks the GM, noticing the disappointed look on her face.
Grayce Kelly:
I just wanted to ask Henri or Glory about the meeting and your decision but they left me hanging.
Vincent Moretti:
I can ask your questions, if you want.
Grayce Kelly:
Really?
She asks almost incredulous. Vincent nods and she quickly drops her question. Vincent thinks about it for a moment before clearing his throat.
Vincent Moretti:
I watched the tapes for days, I studied both pinfalls from every angle available, controlled the timestamp, replayed the final moments countless times on a split screen and even more in my head. And...
He glances at Kelly.
Vincent Moretti:
And nothing, they happened at the same time. Which means that they both won the match, they both earned the title... But I'm not a fan of shared reigns. That's what I told Henri and Glory, before announcing that the Riot championship has been officially vacated.
Grayce Kelly:
What?
A nod from the General Manager.
Vincent Moretti:
You heard me, we currently don't have a Riot champion. It's not an ideal situation and I plan on resolving it as soon as possible. Next week, here in Chicago, Henri and Glory will square off in a title match... The first of a best of five series.
Grayce Kelly:
W-What? This is a huge news!
Vincent Moretti:
It truly is. And to spice things up, the winner of this as well as any other match of the series will have the chance to decide the stipulation of the following matc.
Grayce Kelly:
You heard it from the boss folks. Black versus Braddock for the Riot championship in a best of five series... And it starts next week!
The feed cuts.

Battle For The Briefcase Match
Round One: Singles
Devin Hearst VS EnforcerRound One: Singles
Amy Maynard: “Here we go, ladies and gentlemen. Tonight’s main event is a cross brand match between the former Riot champion Devin Hearst and the Millennium superstar Enforcer.” Sir Figgles: “Devin lost the title at Dark Web II under controversial circumstances and he’s still main eventing Riot. Go on now and tell me that he’s not the greatest of all time!” Amy Maynard: “Nobody can ever question what Hearst accomplished since joining the orange brand. He almost won the rumble in his debut, he was one of the two people standing for team Riot at the end of the 6vs6 match at Viva La Revolucion, he became Riot champion and carried the title for 191 days, setting the record for the longest reign and most defenses.” Sir Figgles: “And now he’s going to win the Battle For The Briefcase and become World Champion. Bet.” Amy Maynard: “Did you?” Sir Figgles: “What?” Amy Maynard: “Did you bet again?” Sir Figgles: “I plead the fifth.” Hearst didn’t look too impressed by the imposing figure of the opponent, nor by his curriculum of experience. He literally got on Enforcer’s face, taunting him and challenging the veteran to a test of strength. As soon as they locked up, Devin raised his knee to the opponent’s mid section and doubled him over. He followed with some hard forearms to the back but they didn’t seem to be too effective and Enforcer fought back, pushing Hearst back against the ropes and hit him with a big boot. For several minutes the 42 years old kept the pressure on the former champion with some knee strikes from a front facelock position to weaken him and successfully lifting him for a stalling suplex, showing his ridiculous strength. Amy Maynard: “Enforcer didn’t come to Riot to play.” Sir Figgles: “Yeah, but it’ll take him a lot more than that to keep the champion down.” Amy Maynard: “He’s not the champ...” Sir Figgles: “He’s still MY CHAMPION!” Enforcer whipped Devin in the corner with such strength that the whole ring shook, charging it at full speed for a corner clothesline, countered by Hearst with a kick to the face. And then the former champion fought his way back out of the corner, hammering the opponent with hard forearms to the face. Enforcer fought back and momentarily got the upper hand, rocking Hearst with a right punch to the jaw and lifting him for a powerslam. Devin slipped away and landed behind his back, dropping him on his knee with a backbreaker and then took him down with a neckbreaker slam. Hearst followed with some vicious stomps before making a cover from which Enforcer kicked out in two. Amy Maynard: “Hearst is taking back control now, he got Enforcer in the corner..” And Devin was targeting the ribs with a flurry of punches, only interrupted by the referee threatening him with a disqualification. The truce only lasted a moment before the former Riot champion went back on the attack with some uppercuts this time, before grabbing Enforcer’s arm and whipping him to the other corner, The veteran reversed the move and, wasting no time, charged in, this time connecting the corner clothesline and following up with a belly to belly suplex. Sir Figgles: “I have to admit, that was impressive.” Amy Maynard: “Enforcer is easily top three of the strongest men in the company.” And on top of that, he was showing some technical skills as well, even performing a flawless bridging northern lights to earn a near fall. But his favorite and most effective weapon was without a doubt his brute strength, whether in the form of those heavy punches aiming to the ribs of the former champion or the throws and power moves he hit Devin with. Including a buckle bomb followed by a mafia kick that almost got the job done for Enforcer. Amy Maynard: “This one was close…” Sir Figgles: “Devin is fine, don’t worry.” The facts were proving Figgles right (shocking, I know) as the former champion blocked the Death Penalty attempt and started unleashing all hell on Enforcer. Kicks, knee strikes, closed fists and elbows to wear down the big man proving that, title or not, he was still the most dominant force on Riot. He lifted the 275 pounder for The Comedown, but that wasn’t enough to keep him down for the three. Nor was the Desperado, or his former finishing maneuver, the Evenflow DDT. No, what he need to do to finally knock down Enforcer was to drive his face into the canvas with a brutal Night Rider, hooking the leg for the final pinfall that brought him straight into the second round of the Battle For The Briefcase tournament. WINNER: Devin Hearst BY: Pinfall (Night Rider), 13:51 |
Amy Maynard:
And Devin goes straight in round two with another impressive performance.
Sir FIggles:
That was never in doubt, Amy...
Amy Maynard:
Well, actually...
Sir Figgles:
