Pierce Manning gingerly walks into the luxury box of the Enterprise Arena. Getting kicked in the balls will have that desired effect. When he reaches the couch he takes a seat. Seeing a half open bottle of wine on the table he grabs it, takes a sip from the bottle, in a heat of understandable rage he throws the wine bottle at the television that's directly in front of him. Upon impact the television screen shatters.
Pierce doesn't care about the property damage.
Jared Constable runs into the suite. The first thing he does is notice the damage done. Then he lays his eyes on Pierce who has his head down. Without much warning he flips the table over. Standing up, he grabs the table. He is about to send the table straight through the glass; thinking on his feet, Jared steps in front of Pierce... the irony, he isn't tall enough to stop Pierce from doing what he plans on doing.
“Sir” Jared screams. “You might want to think twice about this.”
“You think I care about replacing all this?!” Pierce scoffs.
“So tonight didn't go as planned.” Jared says.
“Planned?! PLANNED?!" Pierce doesn't send the table crashing through the glass, instead he turns around and tosses the table towards the entrance of the suite. A loud thud. Nothing more. The table didn't break. Pierce stares at Jared. “Liv Mercer beat me again! AGAIN. I couldn't beat Echo without her getting involved. The same c--” Pierce stops himself from using that word. “-- bitch has two victories over me in a row.”
“In fairness sir--” Jared begins to say.
Pierce is having none of this. “None of this is FAIR. This is Global Championship Wrestling all over again. All I am is a joke to these people. I am trying my best to be taken more seriously. How can I when I am getting outclassed every week? Damn it, I can't out cheat certain people. Do you have any idea how embarrassing that it?”
Pierce plops down on the coach. Jared, cautiously, takes a seat next to him.
“In a way I do, sir. Look at me, I have been made fun of because of my height my entire life. Not pleasant.” Jared sighs. “I have to work extra hard to be taken seriously. No one around here does. That's ok. I still believe in you, if that helps.”
Pierce pats Jared on the head. “Somewhat. Thanks.” Pierce looks at Jared. “I can't continue on like this. Back in GCW I didn't care whether I was taken seriously or not. I went about my business. Had all the fun in the world. Now I am trying to be taken seriously, and I can't win the matches that actually matter. Beating Echo twice is fine and dandy. Mercer.” Pierce snarls. “Her getting the best of me continues to remind me that I haven't come as far as I thought I have. I'm not getting an Invictus Title shot now. Even if I do, you think Echo will look at me as a serious threat? Mercer out cheated me!.” Pierce releases a primal scream. “FUCK! What the hell am I doing to do?”
Jared stands up. He pats Pierce on the shoulder. “Well, I'll pay for the damage you caused. Don't need to worry about that. And second, try to relax. You will be taken seriously sir, you have my word.” Jared smiles. “I hate to leave you like this sir, I'm gonna touch base with Jenni. Big match against the Riot Champion.”
Pierce nods. “I want to be alone anyway. Thanks bud.”
Jared raises his eyebrow. “Bud?”
Pierce offers a feint smile. “Yes, bud. We're friends... now go.”
Hearing Pierce acknowledge him as a friend brings a bright smile to Jared's face. He doesn't stay to bask in the moment for long. He leaves Pierce alone, per request. Having the suite all to himself Pierce stands up. Unleashing another primal scream he flips the couch over. He lays on the floor staring up at the ceiling thinking to himself, how is he going to make this right...
