The concrete floor is gray and the walls are painted an off-white color, at least the walls that still have paint on them, as most of the paint on the walls have begun to peel. There is a standard wrestling set up in the center, weights scattered all over the floor. At one of the far ends of the room is a red heavy bag. In the background we see a standard wrestling ring. The ring has black ropes and a black apron but the mat is a Carolina sky blue. Inside the ring we see young students, students preparing to become professional wrestlers themselves. Other students are scattered throughout the gym, working out with weights or doing some other exercises. We find one other individual by the red heavy bag and he isn’t a student; he used to be a student but now he is one of the trainers.
“ARGH!” The gutterel animalistic yell comes from Mark O’Brian. He is pounding away angrily and violently at the bag. Many of the students notice but none dare to give him any attention. They all know better. All of them know that the best idea right now is to leave Mark alone to his own devices at this point in time.
“I’M GONNA CRUSH ‘EM! I’M GONNA KILL ‘EM!”
Just who is Mark referring to? It could be anyone. But safe to say that no one right now is truly “safe” around Mark O’Brian. The muscular monster has been in a foul mood ever since his sister was attacked backstage at an MWE event and it resulted in her being ousted from the Intercontinental Title Tournament. Mark wants to take his anger and frustrations out on anyone he sees. He’s even had to back away from some of his trainer duties because of this; he has taken some of this out on the students. Now he is taking his angst out on the heavy bag.
The poor heavy bag. What did it ever do to him?
Mark doesn’t even notice as the clicking of high heeled black leather boots across the concrete floor can be heard. He is in the zone and doesn’t notice Sophie O’Brian approaching from behind. Sophie is wearing a black skirt that stops just above the knee a teal colored blouse, and a black leather jacket. Her long dark hair hangs unrestrained to shoulder length. Most would be crazy to approach the angry Mark O’Brian right now with the mood he is in. Sophie, however, is not afraid of her older brother. She knows him better than anyone else.
“Mark…” Sophie says as she steps up behind him. Mark, however, is too intensely focused on punching the heavy bag to notice. Sophie sighs and shakes her head before repeating herself. “Mark…” after waiting a few more moments for a response she realizes she isn’t going to anything out of him. At least not until she…
“MARK!”
The shout startles most of the students in the gym. It also startles Mark as he spins around to face his sister. “What do ya…” his angry glare fades and softens as he quickly realizes that it is his sister Sophie who has arrived to visit “...oh, it’s just you…”
“Nice seeing you too, dear brother.” Sophie rolls her eyes as she marches past him, but she motions for him to follow her. Mark nods and does follow his sister. It isn’t long before the activity in the gym returns to normal. Sophie, meanwhile, leads Mark into the office of Glory Braddock. She is not here right now, so it is empty and provides a good place for the two to talk in private. Sophie takes a seat in the leather rolling chair sitting behind Glory’s large wood oak desk. Mark is pacing on the floor. Sophie sighs and rolls her eyes.
“Sit down. You may roar like a lion, you may even look like a lion, but you do not have to pace like one.”
“I can’t help it, Sophie!” Mark says angrily. “I’m just frustrated!”
“Why?”
“I’m worthless!” He exclaims. Sophie chuckles.
“I could have told you that.”
“This isn’t a joke!” He yells. Sophie nods her head.
“I understand.”
“Do ya? I mean, I’m cooped up here in this damn gym while you’re out there wrestling! I’m cooped up here preparing the next generation while you are getting assaulted backstage at MWE events!” Mark punches the wall very hard. He seems to feel no pain. “Had I been there by your side that night none of this would have happened and you’d be Intercontinental Champion right now!”
“This is true. But what you are doing here at the school is important.”
Now it is Mark who rolls his eyes. “Yeah, yeah, I’ve heard it from you and Glory a million fucking times. I’m preparing the next generation...I’m shaping the future of professional wrestling...blah blah blah…”
He points a finger at Sophie. “But you are my sister, my family, and you need me!”
“First of all, dear brother, I can take care of myself. That being said, you are correct in your assumption that if you had been with me that fateful night, then I would not have been attacked and I would have been in the finals of the Intercontinental Title Tournament. A good general learns from their mistakes, Mark. Yes, I have failed before. But each time I have learned from my mistakes and have come back stronger, better, and wiser than before.” She smirks knowingly. “I can assure you that I will never be blindsided again.”
Mark smirks. “Ya mean to say the deal is done?”
“That is correct.” Sophie nods her head. “You are officially contracted to be by my side at any and all MWE events. Whether they be personal appearances, backstage, ringside watching me compete, anything.”
A sinister grin forms upon Mark’s face. That grin is matched by an equally sinister smirk from his sister Sophie O’Brian. Both brother and sister know that Mark finally has something to do, something to occupy his time, and most importantly an outlet for his rage…
