MWE certainly hosted a spectacular over the weekend with their Down Under shows being held in Chicago, IL due to the current pandemic, making the best of a bad situation across the wrestling industry. A lot of talk has transpired coming from Night One, including the brutal Chicago Way championship match and the main event to crown the inaugural Intercontinental championship between Neal Durden and Megan Rydell but the most speculation is due to the events that transpired at the end of the show.
Raymond Reznik was victorious against Luna in a Lights Out match but prior to the event goinng off the air, he attacked a man in a squirrel costume. The man wearing it? None other than the "Messiah of Metal", Dazz. Why was he there? Well, we can report that both he and his wife were in the Chicago area and - due to some promotions delaying any future shows until the need to quarantine is over - helping to entertain the children of Chicago via webcam alongside other professional wrestlers who live locally. The only space Dazz could find at the last minute happened to be a back room of the Enterprise Arena, where MWE Down Under was broadcast live.
Due to Reznik's attack, rumors of charges being pressed were speculated upon but instead, we're hearing word that both Dazz and MWE owner Grace van Beek came to an agreement that could involve him appearing on the next episode of MWE Millenium in early April. Could we be seeing the 21-year veteran working in Chicago? We'll keep you updated when more information becomes available.
