We open in Boston, Massachusetts, at the special private gym owned by Angelica Jones herself, we see a gym that is in disrepair and whose better days have long since gone. The concrete floor is gray and the walls are painted an off-white color, at least the walls that still have paint on them, as most of the paint on the walls have begun to peel. There is a standard wrestling set up in the center, weights scattered all over the floor. At one of the far ends of the room is a red heavy bag. In the background we see a standard wrestling ring. The ring has black ropes and a black apron but the mat is a Carolina sky blue. This training area utilized by the Jones family is all but empty with the exception of “The Archangel” Jessica Lasiewicz. This young lady, daughter of Angelica Jones and Andreas Lasiewicz, is going to town on a red heavy bag with rights, lefts, and a few martial arts kicks to boot. She intense and focused, so much so that she doesn’t even notice the footsteps approaching from behind; she just continues striking as viciously as she can. A few moments later a hand is placed upon her shoulders. Jessica spins around ready to take down the intruder but quickly backs off upon seeing that it is none other than her good friend and tag team partner Summer Collins.
“God, Summer, do not do that to me!” The Archangel exclaims, shaking her head.
“I shouldn’t be able to do that to you, Jess. And it isn’t for lack of me trying. I just am unable to sneak up on you because of how observant you usually are.”
Jessica sighs. “I’ve been off of my game, I know.”
“You’re distracted and that’s understandable, especially with what happened to your cousin.” Collins embraces Jessica in a tight hug. “You know I will help your family and Ana in any way I can.”
The Archangel breaks the embrace and smiles warmly at her friend. “Thank you, Summer. You know how important family is to me. The importance of family was drilled into my head from both sides, father and mother, so you know how much I value family. Thus what happened to Ana...it really...it…” her voice trails off. Summer shakes her head.
“Say no more, Jess. I understand your trouble.” Collins furrows her brow out of confusion. “And that is partially why I am somewhat surprised that you approached me with this idea of yours. Are you sure you want to do this?”
What Summer is referring to is Jessica’s idea to have Fabulous branch out. Together Summer and Jessica have already regained their spot at the top of the GCW tag team division, holding the GCW World Tag Team Championship. That alone was satisfying for Summer and Jessica, for they believed that the only reason they have not dominated GCW’s tag team division for the past several years is due only to the fact they have been at each other’s throats in a bitter back and forth feud. Both women knew that they were the cream of the crop when it comes to tag team wrestling in GCW, all they had to do was put their differences aside and prove it. Thus regaining the GCW World Tag Team Championship should have been enough to satisfy them and it was; until now.
“I need this, Summer. You and I we need to branch out, we need to prove that we are the most dominant tag team in all of professional wrestling.”
“Even at the expense of the boys?” Collins asks, referencing their husbands, Neil and Kyle. “They are already competing in MWE and they will no doubt want the same prize we want.”
Jessica nods her head in agreement. “I know and I am prepared for that eventuality. Neil and Kyle are professionals, just as we are. If we have to clash over the tag titles sometime down the road then so be it. It will not put a strain on our marriages.”
Summer studies her friend’s face carefully and intensely for a few moments. “Jess, if this is your attempt to bury yourself in your work just to distract yourself from what has happened to Ana, then…”
“It is for the best.” Jessica says with a definitive tone in her voice. “Look into my eyes, Summer, these are the eyes of a devil, a devil that you are all too familiar with. This darkness in me needs to be focused and directed at something or someone else otherwise…” she sighs and turns back to the heavy bag. Jessica doesn’t finish her statement but instead goes back to pounding away on the heavy bag.
“Fair enough, Jess. I agree, this could serve as a nice distraction. But if you ever do want to talk about your problems you know I am here for you.”
The Archangel stops her punching and kicking at the heavy bag and turns to face Summer. “I know, Summer. But for now we need to do this. We need to go to MWE and make their tag team division absolutely Fabulous…”
Summer smirks. “That’s my girl!”
