“The British Bombshell” Glory Braddock is quite a busy young woman these days, having her toe dipped into several aspects of the professional wrestling business. She is currently a contracted wrestler for Supreme Championship Wrestling, she is the owner of her late father’s wrestling school that is located in the Braddock hometown of London, England, and on top of all of that she also owns her own wrestling promotion; Global Championship Wrestling. Micromanagement is something Braddock has had to learn to do in order to maintain her sanity; she has tapped her ex-husband Randall Williams to run the wrestling school in her stead and when it comes to GCW, she has two competent general managers to run the organization. This is rather convenient for The British Bombshell so that she can focus on the one priority she has above anything else; winning her fifteenth world championship. It’s her secret desire, something she keeps hidden and bottled up. She likes to think that she is a good role model for working women and professional athletes everywhere. She likes to think that she is the model wrestler. But as much as she wants to believe she is the hero, the truth is that she does have ulterior motives and those motives are selfishly driven by championship gold. There’s nothing wrong with being selfish. Most professional wrestlers in this industry today are driven by selfish greed, even if they don’t want to admit it. And maybe this is why Glory Braddock has opted to negotiate a contract with Millennium Wrestling Enterprise for the Riot Brand? Braddock wants to branch out and continue to compete, to continue to prove herself as among the best wrestlers in the world today. If that means competing in another professional organization then so be it. The question is, can she manage the hectic schedule and maintain her sanity?
The hectic schedule is why micromanagement has become so important to Glory Braddock; having others to run her businesses for her allows her to seek after what she truly wants. But it also means that she rarely gets seen by those who are technically employed by Glory. The Braddock Wrestling School has always been in the Braddock name, whether her father’s or hers, but recently Glory has rarely shown her face. This is why today is a rare surprise for those training; Glory Braddock is in attendance watching the action from within her office on the far side of the gym floor. Glory isn’t here simply for the sake of watching these students hone their skills. The British Bombshell is here to meet someone very special in her life.
Braddock is dressed in a knee length purple skirt, matching purple high heel stiletto heels, and a matching long sleeve floral print purple top. Her long gorgeous blonde locks hang unrestrained to below her shoulders. She waits patiently at her wood oak desk in her office, knowing that the peace and quiet she has now will not last long. It will be interrupted any time by the arrival of her guest. Almost as if on cue…
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
“Come in.” Glory answers immediately with a stoic gaze after hearing the knocking on her office door. A few moments later the door opens and in walks a raven haired beauty whom Glory knows very well. Dressed in denim jeans, black boots, and a plain black top, this is Destiny Blair, better known in wrestling circles as either Destiny Skye or by her married name, Destiny Van Stanton. The stoic gaze turns into a warm, friendly smile as she attempts to make Destiny feel comfortable.
“Ah, Destiny, I’m glad you made it.”
“Cut the crap, Gloria.” Destiny snaps back viciously. “I know you’re not glad to see me.”
Braddock sighs deeply and shakes her head with disappointment. She knew this would be a tense, rather awkward situation. Destiny is a graduate of the Braddock Wrestling School. Not only is she a graduate but she graduated alongside Glory. She was one of the late great Glenn Braddock’s students. Which makes what happened next even more shocking; for at least a year and a half, for that’s as long as the relationship was public so possibly longer, Destiny had been married to one of the arch rivals of the Braddock family; Mason Van Stanton. The Van Stanton Family had always been at war with the Braddock family ever since Mason’s father, Thomas Van Stanton, ended Glenn’s wrestling career in a freak in-ring accident. It was your typical Hatfield and McCoy war in which both sides blamed the other and there was no end in sight. Mason was the worst of them all and he got into Destiny’s head and convinced her to buy into what he was teaching. At least that was until just a few weeks ago when Mason Van Stanton shoved Destiny off of the top of a hell in a cell at a GCW event.
“Ok, I admit that this may be awkward, but…”
“Awkward is putting it mildly.” Destiny says while rolling her eyes.
“...BUT I am glad to see you, Destiny.” Braddock motions to a chair near the desk. “Please, sit down.”
“Fine,” Destiny sighs as she approaches the chair and sits down, crossing her legs “what do you want?”
“I just want to talk.”
“Talk about what?” Destiny laughs sarcastically. “Do you want to talk about how I betrayed your family by marrying the man who hates you the most? Or maybe we can talk about how that same man has now betrayed me, betrayed my love and trust, and how you can rub salt in the wound by making me eat crow? That is what you want. That’s what you have always wanted to do.”
Braddock gazes deep into Destiny’s eyes. She shakes her head. “You couldn’t be more wrong, Destiny. I’m not the kind of person to rub salt in the wound. What happened to you at the hands of Mason Van Stanton was horrible. What he did was reprehensible. The last thing you need is for someone to…” her voice trails off. The British Bombshell cannot find the right words.
“...to remind me how I screwed up?” Destiny asks. “Go ahead and say it. Because that’s what you want to say.”
“I never said that.” Glory shakes her head.
“You don’t have to say it. I already know.” Destiny says quietly.
“Listen to me for a moment, ok mate?” Destiny sighs as she looks up into Glory’s eyes as Braddock continues. “Destiny, you cannot live in the past. That’s a hard lesson I had to learn myself a long time ago. As good as I was, as much as I have accomplished in the past, all of it means nothing for the here and now. It is all about what you can do right now. You cannot dwell on past mistakes, either. And trust me, mate, I have made my fair share of mistakes as well. I have trusted people I should not have trusted and I have been burned because of it. But I learned from those mistakes and I moved on. That’s all I’m trying to tell you, Destiny. You need to quit beating yourself up, learn from the mistake you made, and move on.”
“Move on? Is that what I should do?” Destiny scoffs. “And who says I made a mistake? You?”
“Well, I did warn you about Mason.” Glory remarks.
“I THOUGHT HE LOVED ME!” Destiny exclaims. Glory shakes her head. The British Bombshell reaches out and grabs her by her hands.
“He was using you, mate. He was using you to get to my family and you know this. Deep down in your heart and soul you have to know this.”
“I don’t want to believe it…” Destiny shakes her head as tears begin to form in her eyes.
“You don’t have to believe it. I won’t force that on you, love. But for your own good it is best if you try and move on from this.”
“And why is it so damn important for me to move on, Gloria?” Destiny demands.
“Because it is healthy.”
“Then why don’t you move on.” Destiny points an accusatory finger across at Glory who raises her eyes wide in surprise at this accusation.
“What do you mean?”
“Oh come on, Gloria, let’s be honest with ourselves here. You claim that I should move on but you’re still living in the past. Just look at Supreme Championship Wrestling. You have yet to get over your failure at Rise To Greatness.”
Braddock pauses momentarily as she lets the words from her on again off again friend Destiny Skye sink in. Glory Braddock had used a Trios Contract she had won in order to insert herself into the Rise To Greatness main event for the SCW World Championship. She claimed that her goal was to ensure Syren would lose the world title. And if that is the case then she was successful, Syren did lose the title; to Alistaire Allocco. Under triple threat rules he pinned Syren to win the title. The truth of what Destiny is accusing is beginning to sink in; Glory had secretly wanted the world championship all to herself.
“I didn’t fail.” Glory remarks rather unconvincingly. Destiny chuckles.
“And I don’t believe you. Your entire obsession is with becoming a fifteen time world champion. That’s what you wanted more than anything else; to win your fifteenth world title and yet you failed. And you are still obsessed with it. That’s still your singular goal. Why else would you also sign a contract to compete with Millennium Wrestling Enterprise?”
Braddock frowns. “How did you find out about that?”
“I have my methods. Let’s just say you aren’t as good at keeping a secret as you think.”
“Fine, you’re right,” Glory sighs “I do want to win my fifteenth world championship. But come on, Destiny, you learned from the same man I learned from; my father. This business we’re in is all about finding out who is the best. You prove yourself and your worth as a competitor by competing against the best and beating the best. That’s why I do what I do, mate. And just as I said, you cannot live in the past. You have to continue to move forward. That is why I am expanding my horizons, that is why I am looking to MWE as another avenue to ply my craft.”
Destiny smiles for the first time since she arrived here. The black haired beauty nods her head. “And I know you’ll do great, Gloria.”
Destiny and Glory stand up in unison. They embrace in a tight hug. “Thanks, Glory. I did need this talk after all. But…” they break the embrace “...can you forgive me for what I’ve done? For…”
“What did I tell you about the past?” Glory shakes her head. “Quit living in the past. As far as I’m concerned it is all forgiven and forgotten.”
