Riot in Guangdong
Live from Dongfeng Nissan Cultural And Sports Center in Dongguan
Saturday, November 9th, 2019
The scene opens with an outside shot of the Dongfeng Nissan Cultural and Sports Center in Dongguan. The fast forwarded action shows the excited fans waiting in orderly line outside the entrance door. Moments later it cuts to the live action, showing those fans filling the venue to the last spot, jumping on their feet as "Riot" by Three Days Grace blares out of the loudspeakers. Flying over their heads, the camera eventually stops on the commentators table, where we find Zackary Dyson and Sir Figgles.
Zackary Dyson:
One week from Homecoming, and we're back with some MWE action!
Sir Figgles:
The Way Of The Dragon tour kicks off tonight, and the controversy surrounding it are still running wild.
Zackary Dyson:
Part of the roster expressed their concerns about the political situation, despite the reassuring words from the ownership. But, on the other hand, the majority of our superstars are excited to perform in front of new fans!
Sir Figgles:
It's always interesting to wrestle in different countries, that much is true. The fans reaction can be so different from what they are in the USA.
Zackary Dyson:
Well, these Chinese fans seem to be on fire already. Can you imagine making your debut in this setting? Well, that's what will happen to Echo in our second match of the night.
Sir Figgles:
And against Christina Rose nonetheless. Lemme tell you, she may be on a rough path, but she's no slouch.
Zackary Dyson:
Absolutely not. And speaking of debuts, the Tag Team Tournament starting tonight brought in a few fresh faces, and some of them are here tonight!
Sir Figgles:
Like Double Trouble, kicking off group B against Millennium's own team of Constantine and Thunder.
Zackary Dyson:
Mimi and Daya are not the only team who's stepping foot for the first time in a MWE ring. The Golden Era and Kimmi Keister & Emi Yamamoto are squaring off in a non tournament match.
Sir Figgles:
If tag team wrestling is not really your thing, we have plenty of singles action as well. Bethany Driver in her first Riot match against Cameron Grey, for example.
Zackary Dyson:
Or Saki versus Henri Black in a no dq match, if you have a thing for violence. In short, there's a little bit of everything for everyone's taste. Stay tuned, it's a Riot in Guangdong!

The scene cuts to the backstage area, where the camera focuses on Echo standing in front of a RIOT logo. Her smile pops as she tugs on her jacket, straightening it out with a snapping sound.
Echo:
Mates, I’ve been waiting a long time for this. I have loved wrestling since was a little girl, I started wrestling since I was a teenager, and yeh, I’ve faltered along the way, but I am here!
She paused for a moment to turn and look at the logo behind her.
Echo
For those of you, and this is the vast majority, that don’t know me, let me give you a crash course. My name is Echo, and I’ve been wrestling for nearly six years… And I love to fight. From my first show, to my first day of training, to my first match, to signing the contract here, that has been the constant. I love the thrill, I love the competition, and I love introducing people to my fists.
To emphasise her point, she held her fist up and tapped herself on the jaw with it.
Echo
I’m here tonight to introduce my fist to someone new for a change. Crystal Hilton….Christina Rose?…. Hil...Ro...y’know, mate, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter who you are, all that matters is that when you hit the ring, mate, you better bring a hundo or you’re not going to have a very fun time out there, yeh? That means get your head on straight or I’ll knock it clean off your shoulders. I don’t know what’s been going on in your life and I personally don’t care, I just want to go out there and have some fun, not put you down within a few minutes.
And don’t get it confused, I’m not being cocky. No right to be, yeh? But look at me, then look at yourself. If you don’t bring it, I’ll break you in two.
Echo’s eyes lit up when she heard her music starting in the background, and she flashed one last smile to the camera.
Echo
Time to go to work, mates. Let’s get it!
She held her hand up to the camera and lightly pushed it aside as she made her way to the past the curtain and to the ring.
Singles Match
Deacon Nash VS Andrew WilkowA big match for the unhinged Deacon Nash, a chance at redemption after the loss suffered at Homecoming in that fatal 4 way won by Henri Black. On the way to his second win on Riot was non other than the Appalachian Mountain Monster, looking to redeem himself in the eye of his employer Devin Hearst after the loss suffered at Homecoming against Meg Rydell. Wilkow started off strong, his physicality and strength causing more than one problem to the man from the Bayou, who was being tossed around by the big man. Deacon was now traveling toward the corner after being whipped there by Andrew. The impact against the turnbuckle caused Nash to bounce back right in Wilkow’s strong arms. The Appalachian Mountain Monster picked up the opponent and tossed him backwards with a fallaway slam. He went to pick the opponent up, Deacon reacted with a punch to the ribs, and a second one. The strikes only seemed to slow down Drew, definitely not stopping him as he dragged him back up to his feet. Nash didn’t stop either, he kept pounding the opponent’s ribs with lefts and rights, finally breaking his offense. Hitting the ropes, he clubbed the stunned opponent from behind with a rear clothesline. Deacon was now stomping the hell out of Andrew in the corner. The referee tried to stop him, but Nash wasn’t listening to the official, and the threat of a disqualification didn’t seem to work on him. Deacon had now his foot pressed against the neck of the big man, choking him. The referee finally managed to separate the two contenders, giving Andrew time to stand up to his feet. Deacon charged in and got caught with a corner STO from the big man, who then went to pick him up. Nash dropped on his knees and broke free with a jawbreaker. As he pulled himself up, Nash caught him with a roundhouse kick to the head, turning off the lights for Wilkow. Taking a high risk, something he’s more than used to, he climbed to the top rope and dove off with a shooting star press, only picking up a count of two. Nash kept attacking the big man with kicks and punches, Drew answered by pushing him to the mat and knocking him down with a big shoulder tackle. A fan jumped the barricade, holding a sign in his hand. The video immediately cut to black WINNER: ?? BY: ??, ?? |
The figure of Yulia Kirilenko appears on the screen, sitting in her office in the MWE headquarters in Chicago.
Yulia Kirilenko:
Well, this is the part where I explain you what happened in this match and why we weren’t able to air the show until tonight.
Her tone is calm, and she’s smiling. But you can still see tension hiding behind that smile.
Yulia Kirilenko:
During the first match of out Chinese tour, you may have noticed one fan jumping the barricade. He was an Hong Kong citizen who decided to use our platform to stage his protest. As you can imagine, the Chinese authorities didn’t take the episode lightly. They held us accountable for the episode, according to them the inflammatory comments of some of our superstars exacerbated the situation. The whole "Way Of The Dragon" tour was in jeopardy, at some point it looked like we had to cancel it as a whole. That until the owner of MWE, Grace van Beek and the representative of MENTV, the owner of Matthews Enterprises Chuck Matthews flew to China and, at the end of a exhausting deal, were able to solve the delicate solution. We don’t want to give this episode any more exposure, politics don’t belong in a wrestling ring.
She repeats those words firmly, but mechanically, almost as if she's reading them something someone else wrote.
Yulia Kirilenko:
The match between Deacon Nash and Andrew Wilkow was, obviously, declared a no contest. They will have another chance to go one on one next Saturday as Riot will go to Bejing.
A slight smile finally appears on her face.
Yulia Kirilenko:
We, as Millennium Wrestling Enterprise, apologize to our fans for this delay and for keeping everyone in the dark. As you can understand, the situation was very delicate, we couldn’t let any of this leak to the public eye. Please, enjoy the rest of the show.
The camera cuts back to the show, showing the next match on the card.
Everything comes into focus as we are treated to the backstage area, and it is there where we are able to see the likes of Christina Rose. Christina is all smiles as she could be seen walking into the arena clad in a mega man designed hoodie. She takes a long deep breath as the cameras pan in on her face and she glares directly into the heart of the camera lens.
Christina Rose:
Hey it feels like an eternity since I really had a chance to say anything. I know things have been rough these past couple of months and I thought things would surely be changing. I thought I would be on the road to getting to the Jr. Heavyweight Championship but I was sadly mistaken. I didn’t get what I wanted. I am still far away from getting to that point, and part of me would like more from the wrestling world.
Christina sighs as she continues glancing at the camera.
Christina Rose:
Life has been absolutely rough for me this year. I really haven’t gotten what I wanted out of wrestling. I have been struggling and I thought this change to Riot would have done me better but it really hasn’t gotten me the results I have been seeking. I am still struggling. I am still not the same woman that I was built up into being.
Christina sighs as she shakes her head.
Christina Rose:
That just goes to show you that the struggle is real and there has to be more to just going to the ring and collecting a paycheck. I need to fill in this empty void. I need to emerge victorious so that people could start taking me seriously again. However tonight I know I run into a big hurdle because standing in my way is the likes of Echo and I know she will want to prove herself.
Christina just sighs again as she continues to speak her mind.
Christina Rose:
I remember when I was that young and I first started to wrestle. I had something to prove. I came into this business full of passion and I did so with a chip on my shoulder. I was gunning to prove to everybody that I was the cream of the crop and nobody had the power to take me down. I wouldn’t let anybody get the better of me but as much as people thought I was new and didn’t belong it inspired me to do better. It drove me to get better and when push came to shove I was able to be one of the next biggest things in all of wrestling. I did it without regret and it established the name that I would become today. That is impressive and now I see Echo and she probably wishes to do the same.
Christina is smiling.
Christina Rose:
Welcome Echo… Welcome to Riot and I bet you probably think that I am the welcome mat and I am just going to let you waltz right into this company with a huge win over me but that’s not how this works at all. As much as you wish to wrestle and showcase that you are the best I have something to prove. I need to bounce back with authority and I have to do it at your expense. So bring a fight Echo but at the end of the day I need this more than you could ever realize…. See you soon.
With that Christina continues to walk into the building and it’s on this image that we fade out on.

Echo VS Christina RoseThe young Aussie was set to make her debut tonight, against an accomplished wrestler such as Christina Rose. Not an easy task, but one the 21 years old was ready to take on. Years of training (she started at fourteen, picking back up two years later after being caught) Echo had been waiting for this moment, her big break, for a long time. She seemed to handle the pressure quite well in the early moments, resisting Christina’s initial assault, waiting for the first opening to counter and get on the attack. Her chance came when Rose charged at her after sending her in the corner with an irish whip. The blonde stopped the charging opponent with a back elbow, exploding out of the corner with a clothesline. She taunted Christina, inviting her to get up only to knock her down with another clothesline. She even went for a third, making her first mistake and Christina to hit her with a forearm to the back of the head. With Echo on her knees, Rose hit the ropes and came back at full speed slamming the opponent’s face to the canvas with a bulldog. Echo grabbed the bottom rope to pull herself up, but Rose wasn’t going to let her, hitting her with a series of stomps to the back. Christina lifted the Aussie and dropped her down with a scoop slam, following with a jumping legdrop and a pinfall attempt, The Aussie kicked out in two blocking a right hand and doubling Christina over with a kick to the stomach, firing the opponent against the ropes and bending over as he came back, throwing Rose over her head with a back body drop. Wasting no time, she moved behind her back and tried to lift her with a german suplex, blocked by Christina who then tried to break free with an elbow to the face. Echo absorbed the impact and gave it another try, this time managing to connect the move. When Rose pulled herself up, Echo met her with a flurry of forearm strikes, throwing her in the corner right after. She rushed in with a splash, sitting the opponent on the top rope and climbing as well, setting her up for a superplex. Christina fought back and knocked Echo down with a headbutt, taking the chance to connect with her Mega.Buster (Cannonball Senton) and hooked the leg. The look of disbelief on her face when the rookie kicked out of her finishing maneuver told the story. The veteran was now in control, getting another near fall after the Flashing Light (chick kick) Smell The Roses (Handspring Moonsault) combination. Echo was in great difficulty, desperately needing a break. And she found it when Christina send her against the ropes. She ducked the clothesline, gaining more speed on rebounding back from the other side and cutting her in half with a spear. With Christina rolling on the canvas holding her ribs, Echo took several moments to catch her breath, finally dragging the opponent up to her feet and landing a series of chops. nailing her with a knee drop brainbuster. The young girl stayed on the offense with a series of uppercuts, showing her strength with a stalling suplex, floating into a cover for a two count. The fans started cheering for the blonde girl in her best moment where she was getting near falls after near falls. Christina was on the ropes, literally and metaphorically. Echo drove her knee in her stomach a couple of times, throwing her on the opposite side with an irish whip and catching her in the middle of the ring with the Reverber (Deep Six). She then hooked the leg and picked up the win in her first match on Riot. WINNER: Echo BY: Pinfall (Reverber), 7:33 |
Zackary Dyson: "She did it! Nice debut win for Echo"
Sir Figgles: "This kid has been living and breathing wrestling even before she was of age. That's passion, something you can't teach"

The scene opens in the interview area. Standing next to each other is Neil Newman, on the right, and Kyle Butler, on the left. Neil has his arms folded into his chest. Kyle has his hands resting to the side. With a stern glare, Neil starts things off.
Neil Newman:
“Allow us to introduce oursel--”
Kyle Butler
“ROLL TIDE BAY BAY!”
Kyle flashes a cheeky smile knowing this would get under Neil’s skin. As one would expect, Neil rolls his eyes.
Neil Newman:
“This is why I don’t take you anywhere.”
Kyle pats Neil on the shoulder.
Kyle Butler
“Please man, you love me, don’t hide it.”
Neil Newman:
“As I was saying. Allow us to introduce ourselves. My name is Neil Newman. Mr. Alabama Mark you already met, Kyle Butter. Together, we represent The Golden Era of professional wrestling. There was a time in our sport where things were simple. No social media. Rarely did you see men of the sport go out of there way to perform topais, suicide dives, moonsaults. All these flips, dips, death defying stunts. All of that is truly unnecessary. How would you know what real wrestling is, anyway? You are not like Kyle and I. We competed on ACTUAL ametur pro wrestling teams in college. We learned the basic fundamentals of the sport. Fundamentals are the foundation professional wrestling was built on.Without the basics we wouldn’t have a sport right now. What passes for evolution is a mockery to men like us. The younger generation will believe all you need to do is flip, dive, jump off ladders to become a success. Pro wrestling nowadays is more flash than substance. Does anyone care about a true golden era of? Do you care if this sport actually survives? I do. Kyle does. We are making it our mission to make professional wrestling credible again. We’re not flashy. We don’t pop the headlines. But we will handle our business. The MWE Tournament is ours for the taking.”
Kyle nods.
Kyle Butler:
“You can’t get more credible than GCW Hall of Famers, bay bay. One of the longest reigning tag team champions in that companies history. Best friends. Former collegiate rivals. Best men at each others wedding. Few tag teams out there are closer than us... unless you count Kimmi and Emi Yamato. I heard they are dating, if so, me and Neil aren’t that close. We’ve gotten our share of questions about that, relationship status isn’t important. What is important is we don’t think those two have actually teamed together. If they did, are they Hall of Famers? Are they former tag team champions? I. Think. Not. This is the main difference between us. At least Neil and I have been to war with each other, against each other, we have been inseparable since college, heh, college was so long enough. We didn’t t just see an advert for a tag tournament and go, well, we’re close, we can make a go at it. I heard Kimmi is pretty good at what she does, current Tapout Champion in Underground if I am not mistaken. Being a singles wrestler who wants to bring her girlfriend a long does not measure up to Hall of Fame certified talent. Ladies, you two may be good at what you do. Sorry, not sorry, we are bringing the old school to the dance in this era of flash and substance.
Neil’s face lightens up. With a smile on his face he proceeds.
Neil Newman:
“It feels so good to be back. See you soon. Kyle. Close it out.
Neil walks off leaving Kyle alone. Kyle slaps his chest three times. As animated as he can, he screams...
Kyle Butler:
“My pleasure. ROOOOOOOOOLL TIDE, BAY BAY!”
Kyle walks off camera as the scene fades to black.
Backstage at the Dongfeng Nissan Cultural And Sports Center, and the pair of Kimmi Keister and Emi Yamamoto can be seen standing together. Both are dressed in their ring attire ahead of their upcoming tag team match against the Golden Era, but something appears to be weighing heavily on their minds— or at least one of their minds, ahead of the contest. Keister slips her hands around Emi’s waist as she speaks up.
Kimmi Keister:
Relax, babe, we’re gonna kick so much arse tonight you won’t even believe it, ok.
Kimmi has always been there for her short and sweet partner, through her best and through her worst, but this time, it was different. Kimmi, now an accomplished superstar known throughout the wrestling world, has spent most of her life and career in the spotlight, but throughout her rise to stardom, there was always someone in the background, someone who would cheer her on from the sidelines, and someone who loves her dearly. That someone was Emi Yamamoto; the Millennium faithful would recognise her as a referee for both brands from a mere few months ago, albeit a little bulkier than when they last saw her. And yet here she is, donning a custom bodysuit and kickpads, looking a little shy. While Kimmi held onto a handful of waist, Emi looked up to her partner with a nervous smile.
Emi Yamamoto:
I know we will...it’s just…
The look of confidence on Kimmi’s face turns into concern as Emi struggles to let out her words.
Emi Yamamoto:
...well......I just don’t know how to feel… Of all the time we’ve known each other, we’ve never actually been in a ring together before…
Kimmi Keister:
Babe, if there’s one thing I know it’s tag teaming! Ok. Well, like that and being the TECHNICAL WIZARD—
She says with the utmost confidence.
Kimmi Keister:
--but, yeah, I’m a tag specialist first and foremost, ok. The major difference is now I’m not with my sisters, ok— now I’m teaming with the woman I love more than anyone in the world.
Keister leans in to give her girlfriend a quick kiss on the lips, but not before Emi balks at the idea of PDA. She relents, however, and the pair share a peck on the lips. Both smiling as they move their faces away from the other.
Kimmi Keister:
Just trust me, ok?
You can tell by the way Emi looks up to Kimmi how much she adores her. It’s obvious who has all the confidence in this couple. As much as Kimmi motivates her however, there’s still something clouding her own determination.
Emi Yamamoto:
I do trust you Kimmi! I just don’t wanna let you down…
Kimmi Keister:
Babe, you could never let me down. But, like, worse case scenario— this isn’t a tournament match, so we can just, like, use this as a chance to work out each other’s rhythms. Ok. The Golden Era aren’t gonna make it easy on us, but if we get past them then we’re gonna be ready for this tournament— especially if we face The Most Valuable Friendship…
Kimmi has a longstanding rivalry with one half of the MVF, Aubrianna Powers - the woman who used to hold Kimmi’s Tapout Championship over in Underground. But their presence in the tournament is just kindling to the fire for Kimmi. It’s the other teams she’s more worried about.
Kimmi Keister:
So...you ready to do this?
Although she’s not quite a hundred percent confident in herself, perhaps being with Kimmi will be the boost she needs. This is her first tag team match since coming out of retirement after all, and there’s no one she trusts more than the woman she loves. Mustering enough confidence to look up with a big smile, Emi nods her head.
Emi Yamamoto:
I think so…
Kimmi Keister:
Then lets go, babe!
With that, Kimmi takes her girlfriend by the hand and leads the way towards the ringside area, as the show cuts elsewhere.

Emi Yamamoto & Kimmi Keister VS The Golden Era
Well, look who’s back. In this showcase match between two of the team that signed up for the tournament, the MWE fans welcomed back Emi Yamamoto to the company, although in a new role as an active wrestler. The former referee was teaming up with her girlfriend and current Underground Tap Out Champion, the Technical Wizard and Hottest Babe of Underground (and MWE too?) Kimmi Keister. In the opposite corner, The Golden Era, the team of Kyle Butler and Neil Newman. An accomplished duo, having held the GCW tag titles in the past. Kimmi started the match for her team, taking on the Alabama born Butler who didn’t seem to take Keister too seriously, making fan of her name and causing her to roll her eyes. And that was when a quick jab to the jaw caught her off guard, with Kyle using the early advantage to control the first part of the match, alternating hard strikes and an array of suplexes, picking up the first two count after an inverted headlock backbreaker. Kimmi struggled to find her footing, but eventually managed to block a suplex attempt and surprise Butler with a cradle, getting her first near fall. She made it up to her feet before his opponent, catching him with a spinning elbow that rocked the man and sent him stumbling back to his corner, where he received the blind tag from Newman. Kimmi, of course, didn’t notice and focused on Butler, planting him with a jumping ddt. When she stood up, proud of the move she just connected, Newman was behind her and drove her down with a sitout mat slam. The Technical Wizard appeared in difficulty against Newman, who had her stuck in his corner after a gutwrench suplex. A series of shoulders to the midsection before Butler entered the ring after a tag and caught Kimmi with a neckbreaker while his partner was dropping her with a german suplex. Emi entered the ring to break the pinning predicament, running into a clothesline from Newman who stopped her on her tracks. Luckily for her, Kimmi still had some fuel on her tank and kicked out. The Hottest Babe thought it was a good idea to hit Kyle with a bitch slap, infuriating him even more. But an angry mind is a mind that makes mistakes, and that happened to Butler too, as he got taken down with a drop toe hold from Kimmi while he was charging at her in the corner, landing face first on the lowest turnbuckle. He was sitting in the corner, perfectly positioned for Kimmi’s broncobuster. She had the opportunity to make the tag, deciding to wait instead until the opponent stood up to his feet to kick him in the stomach and dropping him down with a sitout facebuster. And only know, she made the tag to her girlfriend. To those who remembered Yamamoto before her injury, it appeared evident that she was no longer the same competitor she was before the injury. Whilst the attitude was still the same, her moveset was now favoring more power moves. She was able to reverse an irish whip attempt, catching Kyle as he rebounded back from the ropes with a huge spinning sidewalk slam. Newman entered the ring and charged at the japanese, running right into a belly to belly suplex. The fans were coming to life, getting louder and louder with every move she landed. The Hippo Hop (running senton) on Butler, the Shining Rhino (running pounce to the kneeling opponent) to Neil and the Supa Sekushi Stunner on the legal man, following with a pinfall attempt. Newman saved his partner diving onto Emi and breaking the pinfall attempt. Ignoring the referee’s barking, the Golden Era double teamed Yamamoto with a wheelbarrow facebuster into a cutter, and then they started stomping her to the mat. Since the threats of a dq weren’t working, Kimmi Keister rushed to help her girlfriend, launching herself against Neil with such impetus that they both fell out through the ropes and out of the ring. Kyle had Emi in a headlock, ready to connect his Roooooooooolllllll TIDE (headlock driver) but the momentary distraction costed him precious seconds that Emi exploited to the fullest, breaking free with an elbow to the ribs, and rolling him on his shoulders with a small package. Caught off guard, Butler kicked out one moment after the three. WINNER: Emi Yamamoto & Kimmi Keister BY: Pinfall (Small Package), 16:11 |
Zackary Dyson: "The three points were not on the line tonight, but Emi and Kimmi just scored a big win!"
Sir Figgles: "Mmmhmmm"
Zackary Dyson: "Did you want to say something, partner?"
Sir Figgles: "They need to do better."
Zackary Dyson: "What do you mean?"
Sir Figgles: "You didn't see the time, did you"
Zackary Dyson: "Sixteen minutes... This.. This would have been a draw, if it was a tournament match."
Sir Figgles: "Exactly. Getting the job done quickly is key in this tournament. Emi and Kimmi must improve their chemistry, if they want to succeed."

For a moment, there’s silence throughout the arena, and the Guangdong crowd wait in anticipation for the next piece of tonight’s entertainment. Then as if to send the silence home, there’s a burst of pyro at the top of the ramp, right before “CA in July” by the Bombpops starts to play, and Kelsey Spencer rushes out to the adulation of the audience. She raises the Heath Williams Championship high above her head with pride, before draping it over her shoulder and giving the centre plate a pat.
Spencer strides down to the ring, taking her time to acknowledge the fans, and even take a selfie or two. As she approaches the ring, she takes a moment to hop up on the apron and pose with the title, before getting in and taking a microphone. As the crowd calms down, she raises the mic to her lips.
Kelsey Spencer:
I gotta tell ya, I’m absolutely loving my time in China so far!
The crowd erupts again, cheering for the mentioning of their home country.
Kelsey Spencer:
There’s so much history and culture here! Just this morning I met a monk, and he told me all about the Ten Tigers of Canton! I was hooked from start to finish! Then there’s all that Qing Dynasty stuff too! Man, this land is so interesting! Oh, and don’t even get me started on the food! For dinner last night, I had Szechuan Chilli Chicken, and today for lunch I had a few Dim Sums! It all tastes so amazing! Now, I haven’t fully learned how to use chopsticks yet, but I swear I’m getting there!
The fans chuckle along with Spencer, admiring her western world behaviour, and her welcoming attitude of their culture and cuisine.
Kelsey Spencer:
But look, I really have to stop talking about food, because I haven’t had dinner yet and I could reaaaallllyyyyy go for a big plate of sweet and sour pork right now!
As if on cue, something goes hurtling through the air, and Kelsey swiftly catches it with a right hand. She looks down and frowns.
Kelsey Spencer:
Did someone really just throw me a piece of sweet and sour pork? Who was it? Where did you even-
Kelsey pauses.
Kelsey Spencer:
You know what? It doesn’t matter! I’m just gonna eat it! Thank you mysterious sweet and sour pork thrower!
Kelsey tosses the bit of pork into her mouth, and grins as she chews, really taking in the rich flavour as it waltzes around on her tastebuds without a dance partner.
Kelsey Spencer:
Damn, that was great! I’m gonna be eating like a god the entire time I’m here! BUT ANYWAY! I really need to be addressing the elephant in the room… the very same elephant that’s sitting on my shoulder right here.
She taps the Heath Williams Championship again.
Kelsey Spencer:
That’s right, because last weekend at Homecoming, I became… THE HEATH WILLIAMS CHAMPION!!! I spent a month staring into the face of adversity, battling against a revolution with absolutely zero odds on my side. But guess what? Even though I lost to him three times, I BEAT Heath Williams when it counted most! I walked into Chicago, Illinois as a girl who had no chance, and walked out as a woman with a championship that she was never supposed to have. It didn’t matter how much trickery was involved, it didn’t matter that I got a face full of mist! All that mattered was that I walk out victorious, and by god I did just that!
Many of the Guangdong fans rise to their feet, giving Spencer the praise she had not just earned, but also deserved. They begin to chant, “Nǐ yīng dé de!” or as translated to English, “You deserve it!”
Kelsey Spencer:
Now, I’m not exactly fluent in Mandarin, or Cantonese for that matter, but I can tell by your passion and energy that I’ve got all of you in my corner, supporting me in this new step of my journey, as the Heath Williams Champ.
Kelsey stands still for a moment, soaking in the cheers that reign down on her.
Kelsey Spencer:
It’s funny, the past few days, since winning this title, I’ve had so many people coming up to me, asking me if I’m going to change the name of this title to the Kelsey Spencer Championship. And although the thought of my face being on a piece of championship gold sounds pretty neat, in my opinion, that’s just cheap. That’s what Heath Williams did. Instead of going out there, and earning himself a shot at some gold, he decided to get his own made, sticking his own dumb face on it in the process. That's not me. I'm not like Heath Williams, and I won’t be like Heath Williams. I don’t need to fuel my ego like that. In fact, I’ll just have fun walking around here, getting on his nerves, holding the title that has HIS name on it.
Kelsey pauses for a moment.
Kelsey Spencer:
Actually… you know what would really grind Heath’s gears? Get this… what if I... named this Championship after the great people of the Guangdong Province?!
The crowd cheers triumphantly, more than honoured by the potential of having a wrestling belt named after their beloved province. However, as if to be the needle to pop their bubble, Devilskin’s “Start a Revolution” begins to play, and out comes Heath Williams, stopping at the top of the ramp with a foul look in his eyes.
Heath Williams:
Cut. The. Music.
Williams stands completely still, ignoring the boos presented to him.
Heath Williams:
First of all, Spencer… I’m gonna go ahead and do you a favour and stay down here. Because if I end up in that ring, then all hell will break loose, and you’ll be sent home earlier than you’d like.
Kelsey takes that as a challenge, and walks forward, stepping on the middle rope, as if to invite Heath in.
Heath Williams:
You want a fight, Spencer? Yeah, well too bad. I ain’t gonna give you, nor these people the satisfaction.
The fans continue to share their thoughts, jeering for what they consider cowardice on Heath’s part.
Heath Williams:
Now, where was I? Oh, that’s right. SECOND of all, you seriously want that title to lose all of the prestige I worked so hard to fetch for it, and name it after THIS place?! Let me tell you something. The dong is guang from that title. It was guang the MOMENT you STOLE it from me with that cheap small package. See, the title no longer has balls, it no longer has solidity, it no longer has the foundations that made it the most coveted prize, not just in this company, but in this entire industry. It no longer has ME, and that’s all YOUR fault. But fear not, because that prestige, that value, it’ll all be restored next week, for I WILL be throwing in the title re-clause that I am very much entitled to.
Kelsey sports a disappointed smirk.
Kelsey Spencer:
What? Too afraid to do it right now? You still licking your wounds from Homecoming? Come on Heath, don’t be such a tease. Get in this ring with me right now, and I’ll gladly put MY title on the line.
Heath raises a finger and gives it a slow, methodical shake.
Heath Williams:
Uh, uh, uh. You need to show some patience. Guangdong is not worthy enough to witness the crowning of a King.
Heath has a knack for pushing at all the wrong buttons of the crowd, proven by the boos he receives for his disrespect.
Heath Williams:
Beijing on the other hand… now that’s a different story. How fitting would it be for me, a god amongst men, to reclaim my gold in the same city that once hosted the Olympics? Which if you didn’t know, is the ultimate tribute to Olympians like myself.
Kelsey Spencer:
How fitting would it be for me to come down there right now and kick you in the face? Maybe then you’ll be down to fight, huh? Maybe all you need is a little push to get you over your arrogance and down here in the ring with me, hmm?
Heath shrugs.
Heath Williams:
Not gonna work, I’m afraid. I already told you. This place isn’t worthy. Not to mention, I don’t think you’re in any condition to fight tonight.
Kelsey Spencer:
What are you talking about? I feel just fine!
Heath Williams:
Not for long.
Suddenly, The Mutt appears out from under the ring, and slides in. This distracts Kelsey for just the right amount of time for The Manic to jump out of the crowd, get into the ring, and spin Kelsey around, spewing green mist from her lips and straight into the Champ’s eyes. As Kelsey falls to her knees, blinded, The Manic and The Mutt disperse from the ring, joining Williams at the top of the ramp.
Heath Williams:
I’ll let you keep that title for now, but next week it WILL be coming home to Bàba.
“Start a Revolution” plays again, as Kelsey rubs at her eyes, trying to get all of the green gunk out of them. The scene ends as she stands with one eye glued shut, the other open just enough to stare Williams down.
Singles Match
Cameron Grey VS Bethany DriverThe recently drafted Bethany Driver started off her career on Riot against Cameron Grey. The former TMNT member was looking to impress and finally steering his singles career in the right direction. In this sense, a match against a former contender to the MWE title looked like a great opportunity to impress the general manager Yulia Kirilenko and, perhaps, convince her to consider his name for a title opportunity. To do that, Cameron brought his A-Game, taking Beth down with a hip toss and beginning to work on her arm, twisting and wrenching it with various grounded submission. Driver was quite the submission specialist herself, but despite making it back to her feet, she didn’t seem able to escape the hold, opting to reach the ropes instead. Grey offered her the clean break, waiting for Beth in the center of the ring. They locked up and he was quick to bend her arm behind her back in a hammerlock, putting more pressure on the shoulder. This time Driver had the perfect counter, switching into a hammerlock of her own. Not without effort, he managed to get free and took her down with an arm drag. After the very evenly matched first part of the match characterized by the technical exchange between the two competitors, Beth took control exploiting the opponent’s mistake, and dropping him on her knees with a backstabber after the missed splash. Having clearly studied her opponent, Bethany remembered him wearing athletic tape on his left shoulder back in his tag team days, and decided to focus on that part of the body, weakening it with some knee drops and finally locking him in her The Driver’s Seat (Bridging Fujiwara Armbar). Cameron’s scream echoed in the Dongfeng Nissan Cultural and Sport Centre while the young man struggled to reach the ropes. Eventually he saved himself, although it was hard to tell how much damage the prolonged submission had done already. And judging by how he barely moved that arm, chances were it was hurting like hell. Despite all this, he still put up a brave fight against the former ACM Champion, even getting a near fall with the Null And Void (Quackendriver I). Performing it took a lot out of the former Kid Terra, and probably the extra time it took him to roll into the cover made it a lot easier for Beth to kick out in time. He stayed on the attack, landing a few hard kicks too. But for those paying closer attention, it looked like Bethany was leaving him the initiative, focusing on the defense and waiting for the opportunity to catch him off guard. And there it was, a missing right hook that allowed her to grab his wrist and drop his arm on her knees with a jumping armbreaker, immediately rolling into The B.A.D. Break (Cross Armbreaker). Cameron tried to resist, but the pain became too much to handle, leaving him no choice but to tap out. WINNER: Bethany Driver BY: Submission (B.A.D Break), 7:46 |
Sir Figgles: "Welcome to Riot, Beth!"
Zackary Dyson: "We all know what she's capable of, and personally I'm looking forward to see what she can bring to Riot"
Sir Figgles: "Her addition to the roster is definitely a game changer, things are about to get more interesting around here."

Backstage, Mimi Smith is looking ready to compete but a little newer design to her ring gear. A plaid style top with the sleeves torn off. A black Double Trouble top underneath with short sleeves. Her hair straightened and flows out of her beanie hat. Her nails painted black and blue to match her shirt's design, with a natural make-up look base altered slightly with slightly smokey eyes. Her ring shorts poke out of her grey tracksuit pants that hang on her hips. Joining her was a tanned guy covered in tattoos, dark hair slicked back and
Mimi Smith:
I still can't believe you came to China, Eddie…
Eddie Holm:
I really biffed it.
Mimi Smith:
Yeahuh!
Mimi then glances at her phone
Mimi Smith:
By 14, 339 kilometres
Eddie Holm:
Hey on some maps that's only *shrugs* this big.
With his left hand he opens his thumb and second finger apart to show Mimi the small distance. She laughs at the whole gesture and rolls her eyes.
Mimi Smith:
Oh, Eddie. Never change.
As Mimi walks with him to the stack of Millennium Shirts where she pulls out one that reads Double Trouble in Chinese.
Mimi Smith:
Like our shirt? I've heard we've sold quite a few what with being in the main event on our first match in Millennium.
Eddie Holm:
If I could read Chinese I'd tell you in Chinese: Slick shirt, Meems.
Mimi Smith:
I wonder how you say Meems here….
Mimi ponders a little bit and looks over at the Millennium members of the roster she and Daya are going to be facing tonight, as they're featured on a program for tonight.
Mimi Smith:
Because I've still got goosebumps from that cheer the NVR crowd gave me. So I know what to listen out for tonight when we kick their butts.
Mimi extends her index finger as she points past Eddie's shoulder towards the program. He jerks his head to look where she's pointing and then grabs his neck in agony.
Eddie Holm:
Ah! My neck!
Which makes Mimi shift her eyes to Eddie visibly concerned.
Mimi Smith:
You didn't get a good seat on the plane?
Eddie Holm:
I legit got the worst one, while you and Matias got to live it up in first class.
Mimi Smith:
Fingers crossed you get a good one on the way back because the plane's going to be a party when Double Trouble win tonight.
Mimi Smith:
Because Chris and Redd faced a fresh new team like Helena and Pinhead back in Dallas and lost. Double Trouble aren't any fresh faced tag team, our last opponents had to cheat to win against us you know!
Mimi says while her eyes widen slightly, nostrils flare a little as she was still annoyed by what happened.
Eddie Holm:
You girls are lighter than those other guys though.
Mimi Smith:
Eddie… there's so many talented girls in this business who all have won against a guy who's taller and heavier than they are. That's not going to be a problem for us. Daya and me grew up with big brothers too. We're wayyyy experienced at knocking them on their butts when needed.
She narrows her eyes as a warning to Eddie.
Eddie Holm:
Then I should put my money on Double Trouble.
Mimi Smith:
Yeahuh you should…although I take 35% of the winnings.
Mimi gives her nails a look as she stands all modest.
Mimi Smith:
Because I'm generous and me and Daya are coming to win the whole tournament, that's a lot of money to win, Eddie.
Eddie Holm:
One problem.
Mimi Smith:
What's that?
Eddie Holm:
Thirty-five percent's really hard to figure out.
Mimi Smith:
That's true. What about 50%, you only have to half it then.
Mimi says putting her arm around Eddie like a car salesman.
Eddie Holm:
That is easier. You got yourself a deal.
Mimi Smith:
Deal.
Mimi shakes Eddie's hand and watches him open up the betting app to make a last minute wager on Millennium's match as the scene slowly fades on the double trouble shirt Mimi's holding.
No DQ Match
Henri Black VS SakiSaki surely walked into this match with a lot of frustration. Getting so close to the win at Homecoming and being stopped by Liv’s boyfriend left her with a lot of disappointment, and what better way to get all of that out of her system than a no disqualification match, a stipulation she definitely thrive in? Her opponent surely represented an insidious challenge. Henri Black has looked impressive since his signing with Riot, and he’s no slouch when it comes to hardcore wrestling, having fought his fair share of grueling matches throughout his career. Things got pretty brutal from the get going, with the Kawaii Deathmachine wasting no time and smashing Black’s nose with a headbutt right off the gate. She then charged at the corner, holding him by the nape and went to smash his face against the turnbuckle, but Henri blocked it pointing his foot to the middle rope, swinging his elbow right on the former Empire Extreme Champion’s face. He followed up with a series of uppercuts, sending then the opponent against the ropes and catching her with a leg lariat. With Saki down, he rolled out of the ring and started looking for some toys to kick up the things a notch. A couple of chairs, a small bag probably containing thumbtacks and now a table. He was still pulling that out when Saki flew through the ropes with a suicide dive. It was now her turn to dig under the ring and retrieve a singapore cane, swinging it on Henri’s mid section. She landed a few more shots before Black was able to kick the cane away from her hand, following up with a knee to the face. The Blackstar took the Singapore Mauler around the ring, driving her head against all the four ringpost, grabbing her by the hand and throwing her toward the steps. The impact was violent, leaving the former Empire Extreme Champion laying motionless against them. He measured her up and charged in for the Black Sacrament, his running yakuza kick on the steps. Saki collapses down, seemingly out cold. Henri smirks widely, taking a moment to soak in the crowd reaction. Or lack of, since the fans in Dongguan seem petrified seeing how quick the Blackstar got rid of the former Empire Extreme Champion. Taking his sweet time, he rolled her back in the ring and made the cover. The resilient Saki kicked out just a fraction of second before the three, most likely only thanks to all the time to recover Henri granted her. The match was downhill for Black, who had a huge advantage thanks to the initial onslaught. Saki created herself an opening when, while crawling to the ropes, she got her hands on one of the steel chair and doubled Black over with a shot to the abdomen. She drove the chair on his midsection one more time for good measure, using it to get up to her feet. Seeing the opponent still recovering and holding his ribs, she used what little strength she had left to charge in and, placing the chair on her knees, hit a codebraker. The move obviously took a lot out of her as well, damaging the knee and taking some precious time away from the Kawaai Deathmachine and her chances of victory. And in fact, Black kicked out in two. The Singapore Mauler started building some momentum with various chair shots, one of them busting his head open. Not even the blood loss kept Henri down, Saki unfolded a chair and sat him on it, superkicking him on the face, The chair was positioned close to the corner so that when Henri fell back, the back of his head hit the turnbuckle. Gotta give her credit here, that was a smart play from the former champion. The match was violently coming to its natural end, both competitors being worn out and wearing the signs of the brutal match. Black got really close to the three with spike ddt on the chair, but Saki regained control with a kick down there when the Blackstar was connecting the third of his series of German Suplexes. And while Henri was in pain, hands on his jewels, she unleashed her creativity, setting up the two chairs one in front of the others. A stomp to the back of Henri’s head to keep him down before she rolled out of the ring, pulling out some light tubes from under the apron. She brought them back in the ring and bridged them on the chairs. She grabbed Henri who was only now starting to get up and attempted a right hook, blocked by the Blackstar who countered with one of his own. The two still had the strength to endure another brawl, won by the former AXN Champion who now lifted the opponent in a suplex position and planted her on her head with a brainbuster. He could have made the cover, but he noticed the structure set up by the Kawaii Deathmachine. He added to his own personal touch, scattering a bed of thumbtacks under it. He then picked the opponent up in a powerbomb position and dropped her through the tubes and on the tacks, finally winning Saki’s unbelievable resilience and taking home the win. WINNER: Henri Black BY: Pinfall (Powerbomb), 13:09 |
Sir Figgles: "This. Was. Awesome!"
Zackary Dyson: "This is without a doubt the most violent match in Riot history"
Sir Figgles: "Not that there have been many Hardcore matches in the orange brand history, but Black and Saki gave us one match to remember."

The cameras cut to the backstage area where Camari Hayre is standing by, microphone in hand.
Camari Hayre:
Ladies and Gentlemen, Please welcome my guest at this time, The Blackstar Henri Black!
The camera zooms out to show Henri Black fresh from a visit with the doctors backstage.
Henri Black:
Camari, a pleasure to meet you.
Henri nods to Camari who begins the interview.
Camari Hayre:
Henri, earlier tonight you engaged in one of the most brutal matches of the entire year against Saki, the former Chicago Way Champion, you won that match but at what cost?
Henri looks ahead and takes a deep breath.
Henri Black:
I certainly paid the price for this victory, and I'm not going to lie to you Camari, I was not expecting that level of competition from somebody half my size, the reputation of the former Empire Extreme Champion is well deserved and honestly it's the waiting for the pain that's the hardest part of a match like this.
Henri shakes his head ruefully.
Camari Hayre:
Can you elaborate on that? Because I'm sure Saki would beg to disagree with you there.
Camari looks at Henri, a confused expression on her face.
Henri Black:
There is no pain greater than that which we inflict upon ourselves, I watched hours of tape ahead of tonight while mentally preparing myself for the punishment I knew was coming. Oh sure I'm in pain right now but in a few days that will fade but the two weeks leading up to the match picturing every possibility in my mind? Preparing myself for the pain I knew was coming that is an entirely different kind of suffering. As for how Saki might feel about that who knows, this is a woman who has made a living out of matches like that, for all we know she enjoys it.
Henri chuckles.
Camari Hayre:
How can you be so calm after what can realistically be called a “deathmatch”?
Henri flashes a sarcastic, and somewhat sadistic, smile at the camera before he answers
Henri Black:
A common trend among professional wrestlers, or at least the more successful ones, is that we have the ability to compartmentalise. When I step inside that ring I become an entirely different person, you could characterise it as somewhat of a Jekyll and Hyde situation, there is the Henri who is standing here talking to you right now, he is amiable, affable and I dare say quite charming and then there is the Henri who steps into that ring... he is a sick, sadistic, individual and he will do whatever he has to do to put his opponents down for the three count.
Camari Hayre:
you say that so calmly, you kicked her head into the steel steps in what has to be one of the most sickening acts I have ever seen.
Henri rubs at his eyes for a moment.
Henri Black:
And she got up. Do you know how many people have gotten up from the Black Sacrament Camari? You can count them on one hand with room to spare and that's under normal circumstances, for Saki to get up like she did was nothing short of superhuman.
Camari nods, somewhat unsure.
Camari Hayre:
And then there was the steel chairs, the thumbtacks and the lighting tubes...
Henri cuts her off before she can finish the question
Henri Black:
In my defence I only brought in the chairs and tacks the lighting tubes are entirely on Saki, I just put it to use before she had the chance.
Camari moves along quickly before Henri has the chance to cut in a second time.
Camari Hayre:
One last question, You have entered the upcoming tag team tournament alongside Helena Noir could you tell us all a little about your history together?
Henri Black:
Helena Noir was the first opponent I faced in my professional career. I lost that match but I learned, oh how I learned and two months later I was the World heavyweight Champion. But that's not what you asked... after the MWA folded Helena, Prayme Rosario and myself set out together as a group, strength in numbers and all that.
Henri shrugs at the memory.
Henri Black:
We worked together like this for a few months but eventually we all split up and went our separate ways and honestly we haven't seen much of each other since, Helena and I hadn't competed in the same federation let alone the same card for almost five years when I signed with Millennium but I ask you this Camari, what better partner could I ask for? Now, if you will excuse me I need to take a shower and wash off this blood.
With that Henri walks out of the shot.
Camari Hayre:
Henri Black, ladies and gentlemen.
MWE Tag Team Match Tournament
Group B
Group B
Double Trouble VS Chris Constantine Junior & REDD Thunder
Main event time in Dongguan, the first match of the Second annual tag team tournament. Unlike last year, the time limit is set on 15 minutes rather than 20, but other than that the rules are the same as past year. For this first match of group B, NVR’s own Double Trouble takes on the Millennium’s pair of Chris Constantine and REDD Thunder. Mimi Smith, twin sister of Bree, started the match, taking on the colossal REDD. Sticking to a hit-and-run gameplan, Mimi was able to keep herself away from the Thunder’s grasp, throwing in some swift strikes that seemed to annoy the big man rather than really hurt him. Eventually, shot after shot, she chopped him down to one knee, kicking him right to the temple and tagging her partner in. Mimi and Daya then hit the master of the Big Fat Lucha style with a double superkick, dropping him flat on his belly. Not without effort, Matias rolled him on his back and made the cover, from which Redd powered out with authority. The luchadora hit the ropes and stopped the opponent’s attempt to get back to his feet with a bulldog, extending her hand to Mimi who took another tag. Working like a well oiled machine, Double Trouble hit the opposite sides of the ropes and hit Redd with a double scissors kick. Mimi quickly went for the cover, but not even the Vermilion Volt was enough to defeat the Thunder. Figgles and Dyson were praising the great chemistry shown by Double Trouble, how they were really living up their name causing more than some issues to the big man. The whirlwind of quick tags brought now the latina back into the ring, kicking repeatedly Redd’s chest with stiff kicks. Her continuous strikes couldn’t stop him from getting back to his feet, blocking her leg and tossing her around with an exploder suplex. Daya was quickly back on her feet, but she couldn’t avoid the truck running toward her and clotheslining her out of her boot. The thunder was pissed, and Daya was paying the price, getting violently dropped on the canvas with a pop-up powerbomb. CCJ asked and obtained the tag, getting inside the ring to a shower of boos from the Chinese fans who didn’t forget his disparaging comments over their country and the precarious international situation, all of this only worsened by the episode happened earlier in the night. Constantine seemed to feed on their negative reaction, smiling and not holding back from more derogatory jabs at the fans and China, even starting a “USA! USA!” chant after a picture perfect butterfly suplex on Matias, who was in dire need for a tag. He began stomping her, starting with the left arm, the left leg and then moving to the right side of her body, stomping her limbs before, with a taunting smile at Mimi, driving his foot on the young girl’s face. He hooked her leg, but Daya still kicked out. The team of CCJ and Redd was doing a great job isolating Matias. After a tag, Chris whipped her toward Thunder who sent the poor girl flying against the corner with and overhead belly to belly suplex. You got to give Daya credit for resisting a whole lot of punishment, kicking out even from the savate kick from the incredibly athletic Redd. Once again she found herself on the receiving hand of a double team maneuver, a big boot/STO combination. And surprisingly, she managed to escape Chris’ grasp and make the tag to Mimi, who entered the ring all guns ablazing, Smith was on fire, ducking a clothesline and attacking Redd with a jumping forearm strike. Chris charged in and she took him down with a drop toe hold, sending him face first against the turnbuckle. With no wasted motions, she stepped on his back to connect her knee to Redd’s face, dropping the big man on the floor outside. Her patented Cha-chin (stunner) almost gave the three points to her team, but CCJ saved himself with a foot on the ropes. The momentum of the match shifted again when Constantine reversed an irish whip, sending Mimi against the ropes where his partner hit her with a heavy strike to the kidneys. The cheap shot didn’t gain her any sympathy with the fans but allowed them to take back control, with Chris now working on Mimi’s leg to work his way to the submission win. There was a little bit of commotion amongst the fans as Andrew Wilkow walked down the ramp, emptying a can of beer on his way all while insulting Redd and his mother. The big man wasn’t happy about it, and against Olivia’s advice and the referee’s barking him to come back to the ring, he walked toward Drew. And while everyone’s attention was on the two big men yelling insults and pushing each other around, Devin Hearst jumped the barricade and entered the ring behind the referee’s back, planting CCJ with the Evenflow DDT. He quickly rolled out of the ring smiling at Mimi who seemed unsure on what to do. Daya instead had no qualms about taking the tag and making the cover on the motionless Constantine, picking up the win for her team WINNER: Double Trouble BY: Pinfall (Evenflow DDT), 13:23 |
Mimi Smith seems a bit reluctant to celebrate, constantly looking at Hearst who was now kicking Constantine out of the ring. Olivia called Redd, (who was trading hands with Wilkow) concerned about her husband's health. Devin was mocking Constantine, calling him "Millennium scum" and telling him to "pack his shit and get the hell out of my (his) ring." Thunder helped his partner back to his feet and the two walked away, leaving the Riot Champion alone in the ring with his right hand, the Appalachian Mountain Monster himself. The champ asks for a microphone.
Hearst paces around the ring, strutting like the peacock he is with his new RIOT Championship around his waist. He swings the mic in his hand in the air, before pausing right in the center. He freezes like a statue as the mixed rage and scattered adulation rains down upon him. It seems like forever before he brings the mic down.
Devin Hearst:
Patience is a virtue some of y’all just don’t have. Everybody wants to cut in line and make that mark right out the gate, but it’s the guy who plays the long game that comes out with the real win. I set this plan in motion eight years ago and while the company might be different, the end game was always going to be the same: Devin Hearst is the RIOT Champion! King of the castle, baby, and god damn, does it feel good to be a gangsta!
Hearst gets a nice long cackle in as he holds out a hand for a high-five from Andrew Wilkow. Without an immediate response, Hearst sends a glare Wilkow’s way which prompts the mountain monster to crack Hearst’s hand with a thunderous high-five. In an instant, Hearst’s grin is back.
Devin Hearst:
I’ve been tellin’ y’all since the jump, too. Day one, I came to RIOT just hoping to make my mark and do my thing … but then Eliza Valentine stepped into my spotlight and took from me. What we got here around my waist is a case of good old fashioned revenge. I’m not too proud to admit I’m an envious, petty, bitter man and when you take from this bitter man, he takes everything he can from you. I know there’s plenty of you back there that want to test the theory, so to that I say step on up! Mosey into my sunshine, because just like Eliza and just like those two chucklefucks tonight, I make a whole lot of money taking out the trash. I am not a leader. I am not here to guide RIOT. I AM RIOT. I’m not the star, I’m the whole damn galaxy! Wrestling has too many damn kings barking over who has the throne. To RIOT, I am the dragon, and I’m here for my tribute!
Suddenly the lights dim, causing Devin and Andrew to both look around in confusion before they get ready for a fight. “Ludens” by Bring Me The Horizon begins to blare over the PA system and out walks Megan Rydell, who gets a mixed reaction from the crowd, as half of them aren’t very fond of Devin. Meg stands at the top of the entrance way with a smirk on her face and a mic in her hand, letting her new theme play for a moment before she finally raises the mic up to her lips and the music cuts away.
Megan Rydell:
Eight years in the making, huh? Did I hear that right? Well shit, it sounds like you’ve wasted a fuck ton of time.
Meg can’t help but laugh as she shrugs her shoulders.
Megan Rydell:
It’s not going to take me that long to become the Riot Champion, to become the leader that this company deserves. Why is that? Because I don’t slack off like you do, Devin. You think you’re god’s gift to wrestling but the only thing you are is the next jackass who thinks they’re some unstoppable immortal. But when I see you, you know what I see? I see a fucking joke who beat Eliza Valentine, who’s heart wasn’t in it anymore.
Devin goes to raise the mic to his lips but Meg cuts him off.
Megan Rydell:
Oh no, no, no! Your time for talking is over, bud, it’s my time now and you’re going to have to listen to what I have to say. You see, Eliza needed someone to give her a spark and she even admitted it. Management couldn’t give it to you and you sure as hell couldn’t. I do know that if it was me in the ring with her though? She would’ve given it her all because there is a mutual respect there. And it was me who was supposed to dethrone her. Our history together, dating back to when this company was named Pride, is undeniable. I wasn’t ready to beat her back then at her best because I wasn’t at mine yet. While I am now, it’s clear she isn’t. So congratulations, Devin, you defeated a soft Eliza Valentine.
Megan scoffs and shakes her head.
Megan Rydell:
You’re exactly what’s wrong with wrestling, Devin. You want a tribute? Well here’s your fucking tribute.
Megan takes her free hand and flips Devin the bird, causing him and Willow to go irate. Andrew goes to leave the ring but Hearst hold his friend back.
Megan Rydell:
That’s right, hold your dog back, so that I don’t end up putting him down. As for that Riot Championship? Keep it nice and clean for me, because it belongs around my waist. I’m the leader that Riot deserves. I’m the one who will put this brand on par with Millennium. We will no longer be seen as some secondary shit. You and everyone else might be content with that but I’m not. I strive to be the best and to do that, I need to become the luden that Riot needs and deserves.
Megan holds the mic out and drops it and “Ludens” by Bring Me The Horizon blares over the PA system once again. Devin and Megan trade barbs to each other off the mic before the show cuts to the end credits.
