EXT. SMITH HOME – FLORIDA
It’s a bright Sunday afternoon in the Smith family household, the sun shining in all its glory in the sky above, and outside the house entrance there’s some intense activity going on in the yard, as Bree and DA #TROLL GUY Mariano Fernandez are playing an one-on-one basketball game. Mariano has the ball, dressed in a crimson red Shohoku uniform from Slam Dunk!, and is slowly approaching the sporty Bree, who wastes no time in trying to check him. Bree is dressed very casually in a black baggy t-shirt Lexie had got her with a pair of grey leggings on and very stylish sneakers.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Putting the pressure on already, eh chica?
Putting the pressure on already, eh chica?
BREE SMITH:
You know it, dude. I’ve got my game face on all the time.
You know it, dude. I’ve got my game face on all the time.
Mariano makes a feint to spin to the right, and Bree falls for it, leaving him open for a long range shot.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
From downtown!
From downtown!
The ball flies and after impacting the board, it falls through the rim, giving Manny the points.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
And the rain is dropping once again!
And the rain is dropping once again!
He picks up the ball from the ground, and standing next to Bree again, he passes it to her.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Your turn, chica!
Your turn, chica!
Bree takes the ball and starts by twirling it on her finger a little bit as she waits for Manny to be ready. She fakes left and then right so she can do a half twirl and run past him towards the hoop. Bree then leaps up to make a lay-up she’s done a thousand times to score with her knee lightly hitting the garage door for a small rattle. As she lands she beams a smile.
BREE SMITH:
Can’t stop me, dude.
Can’t stop me, dude.
As she passes him the ball, Manny makes a light-hearted smirk.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Game is just starting yet, mang. 21 it is, and we’re now 2-1!
Game is just starting yet, mang. 21 it is, and we’re now 2-1!
BREE SMITH:
You better bring it then because I’m bringing it 120, Dude.
You better bring it then because I’m bringing it 120, Dude.
She says bouncing the ball over to him and gets into checking position. Mariano crosses over the ball from one leg to another, and Bree’s swipe catches nothing but air. Mariano then has a free way to the hoop, and sinks the ball with a lay-up.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Razzle-dazzle!
Razzle-dazzle!
As he’s just picked up the ball, he waits for Bree to come back to her starting position to receive it.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
So, your impending loss in this game aside - how have things been for you, chica?
So, your impending loss in this game aside - how have things been for you, chica?
Bree’s lips purse off to the side and she turns to the side.
BREE SMITH:
Well….unlike this…
Well….unlike this…
She does her patented hook shot that she’s able to make with a swish of the net, then continues talking.
BREE SMITH:
Not all ‘swishful’, dude. I keep letting my partner down.
Not all ‘swishful’, dude. I keep letting my partner down.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
I wouldn’t say that, mang. Teamwork is something that rarely comes naturally. It’s a nurture thing - takes time, dedication and patience. Trixie and I had our struggles at first in Vengeance Pro, and it took us months to adapt.

He receives the ball, and as Bree gets real close to him again, he makes a step left, then quickly takes another step right, leaving her behind to score another lay-up in a picture perfect Euro-Step.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Like Manu Ginobili, chica - SWWWWISH!
Like Manu Ginobili, chica - SWWWWISH!
One more time they go to starting positions, and Mariano twirls the ball on his finger this time.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
But once you get the rhythm of your partner and really get to know how they work, things start to come naturally. I couldn’t tell you the amount of times Trixie saved my ass.
But once you get the rhythm of your partner and really get to know how they work, things start to come naturally. I couldn’t tell you the amount of times Trixie saved my ass.
And with that, he passes her the ball.
BREE SMITH:
Yeah but we’ve had time to work out the, chinks in the armour and now they’re coming up. It’s getting to me and I think I’m just going to cause Teegs more and more losses now.

Bree says relying back on her hook shot to score. As the ball leaves her hand, Mariano swats it away.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Credit card SWIPE!
Credit card SWIPE!
The ball bounces to another part of the yard, and as Mariano is first to pick it up, he makes it into long range again…
BREE SMITH:
REJECTED!
REJECTED!
… before Bree instantly pops out in front of him, catching the ball Mariano just attempted to shoot. Bree then turns around and does a long-range shot of her own, which hits the rim twice before bouncing in. Bree holds her breath on the first bounce but sighs relieved when it falls in.
BREE SMITH:
And the score is tied!
And the score is tied!
After she passes him the ball again, Mariano bounces it in place.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
You realize what you just done, right mang? You just tied the game. Blocked a shot of mine, and got a long range basket of your own. Like basketball, wrestling is just another sport - and no armor is without its chinks. No team is without its little things to work out. And sometimes it takes a short time, sometimes it takes longer - but eventually, with enough work and dedication - things just start to work out!

He approaches her one more time, but they stand at a deadlock, neither being able to get an advantage on each other. Coming out the door then is Mimi who looks dressed to go out. She wears a vibrant white t-shirt with a red design on the front, the sleeves end with a red sleeve that matches her red hairband, light wash jean shorts with some sensible, comfy footwear in her flat sneakers.
MIMI SMITH:
I’m starving for a slice.
I’m starving for a slice.
Mariano doesn’t turn to face her as he still has to deal with Bree, but he does manage to respond.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Hey yo. Be with you soon, mang, I promise.
Hey yo. Be with you soon, mang, I promise.
He fakes a jump, and Bree jumps as well, but Mariano manages to get around her, and sink the ball with one more lay-up.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
The man of ALL creation, chica.
The man of ALL creation, chica.
He manages to approach Mimi as he picks up the ball.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Now - how you doing, mang?
Now - how you doing, mang?
MIMI SMITH:
Mang???
Mang???
She crooks an eyebrow up while Bree gets the ball and readies herself.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
I’m sorry, chica. Always slips my mind.
I’m sorry, chica. Always slips my mind.
MIMI SMITH:
I’ll take that as a compliment, Button. And I didn’t know you supported the Celtics.
I’ll take that as a compliment, Button. And I didn’t know you supported the Celtics.
Mimi says getting out her sunglasses. Mariano’s eyes go wide, and he sighs in resignation.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
The Celtics wear GREEN, chica. This is Shohoku from Slam Dunk! - although we’ll just call it the Chicago Bulls to make it easier for you.
The Celtics wear GREEN, chica. This is Shohoku from Slam Dunk! - although we’ll just call it the Chicago Bulls to make it easier for you.
As Mariano and Mimi engage in the conversation, Bree is left alone with the ball - and she smiles wickedly as the proverbial lightbulb lights up in her had. Getting a running start, she sprints towards the distracted Manny and leaps almost directly at him, slamming the ball to the rim with a thunderous, earth-shattering sound! Manny gets swiftly knocked down on his behind as Bree hangs on to the rim, and drops down in celebration.
BREE SMITH:
BOOM SHAKALAKA!
BOOM SHAKALAKA!
Mimi takes a note of Bree and nudges Manny before walking down the path.
MIMI SMITH:
I think that means game over, Button.
I think that means game over, Button.
Still sitting on the ground after getting dunked on by Bree, Mariano barely has time to make a face before the Smith girls stand in front of him, hands in their hips.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
... we’ll leave it at that, mang. But I want a rematch!
... we’ll leave it at that, mang. But I want a rematch!
CUT TO:
INT. PIZZA PLACE – SOME TIME LATER
Mimi and Manny are at the restaurant. Manny was lead to believe in the car it was a very upper-class, pricey and extravagant restaurant but Mimi was simply teasing him as her personal choice was a little place at the corner of a street, hardly classy but full of character and charm. They both sit opposite each other on some dark brown, wooden chairs. Mimi is onto her third slice in a pizza the restaurant serve with a ceramic box like bowl to give the appeal of pizza delivery.
MIMI SMITH:
So you had a good birthday then, Button?
So you had a good birthday then, Button?
Mariano picks up his own slice - the second one he’s in - and takes a bite, before responding.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Not too bad, chica! Southfall didn’t go as I wanted it to go, but I spent my birthday one half of the 4CW Tag Team Champions, and I found a Switch in my locker room next to a custom bag for it, and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

MIMI SMITH:
Found?
Found?
Mariano nods, and winks.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
I have a certain idea of who they were that left it there, chica - though my spider-sense tells me they’ll never admit to it.

He grabs her hand, and looks at her straight in the eyes.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
And I’ll be sure something like that happens to you on your birthday as well!
And I’ll be sure something like that happens to you on your birthday as well!
MIMI SMITH:
And on Bree’s? Hers is the day before mine. We’re twins.
And on Bree’s? Hers is the day before mine. We’re twins.
She then tears the end of her pizza piece with a swift bite before dipping it into a very cute pot of garlic and herb sauce. The cute pot made of a lovely varnished wood with “Garlic” perfectly etched into it. Mariano makes a face one more time, but the curved smile of his betrays his true meaning.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Her dunking on me earlier kinda makes me want to do otherwise, but yes, chica, also for her, I promise.

MIMI SMITH:
She got you when she dunked?
She got you when she dunked?
Mimi says with half a mouthful of pizza just gone down and she holds her chest momentarily before seeking some of the bottled water poured into her glass to help chase it down.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
(HIS EYES NARROW)
I was talking to YOU, mang.
(HIS EYES NARROW)
I was talking to YOU, mang.
He gulps down his own water. Mimi smiles.
MIMI SMITH:
You’ll have to get better as Bree says. Though she’s been down recently since it’s a bit of a juxtaposition me and Luna having gold but Bree’s empty handed so far. I hope she’ll get out of the funk and start swinging fists better than ever.

Which Mimi lightly chuckles at, as Bree was more a powerhouse than a brawler. Mariano nods gravely
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
I went through most of 2018 in a funk, chica. Trixie helped me with that, but only from October until now have things started to pick up. And now? I hold six belts in four companies. Bree can come challenge me any time!

He delivers a chuckle of his own.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
But I like to see this as the result of getting to work hard to defy expectations and to prove people wrong. The most vicious critics? I silenced them. Personally. And in the process, I achieved much more than they ever did, and likely ever will, in their entire careers. And Bree can, and will, do the same.

MIMI SMITH:
Let’s hope you don’t have to silence me...Mang.

MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
You’re not calling me a joke, or an embarrassment, chica.

Mimi then sips her drink and pulls out her phone.
MIMI SMITH:
But! Little work talk. Since my birthday is also Southside day. Who would you like to face on the Mimi Show?
But! Little work talk. Since my birthday is also Southside day. Who would you like to face on the Mimi Show?
Mariano takes his hand to his chin, thinking for a while.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Let’s see… Bexs I already faced, I would like a rematch sometime, but let’s leave her alone for now.
Let’s see… Bexs I already faced, I would like a rematch sometime, but let’s leave her alone for now.
As Manny says Bex, Mimi gets a wide grin on her face and looks off to the side.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Coda and I already tagged once. Zane Chamberlin won’t be coming looking for a fight anytime soon. Claire and Ximena we’re already facing with Rachel, and Rachel herself I’m facing at Stellar Force…

Blinking, Manny turns his head slowly, before facing Mimi again.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
So how about Brandi? She was upset that I didn’t choose her at the Valentine show. Let me try to make up to her that way, chica.

Mimi nods, with just a hint of the smirk she had before when he said Bex.
MIMI SMITH:
You got it, Papi Manny.
You got it, Papi Manny.
And she notes it down before putting her phone away. Mariano blushes at the hint while Mimi had a small bit of her pizza.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii…
Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii…
She dabs her mouth innocently with the napkin.
MIMI SMITH:
Yes?
Yes?
And before Manny can get out his next sentence, Mimi then gestures to the photo on the wall with Mimi at a table with Bree, taken about a year a half ago during fall where the pair won a pizza eating contest.
MIMI SMITH:
Did you see that by the way, Button?
Did you see that by the way, Button?
Mariano looks in the photo’s direction, somewhat amazed.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Whoa! Good going, chicas! I could have never imagined you being that big eaters.

He chuckles.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Emperor knows I couldn’t do that at all.
Emperor knows I couldn’t do that at all.
MIMI SMITH:
That’s ok. It was a fun experience but I was stuffed for two days after it. Bree still does them with chicken wings and Gabby too when the mood strikes her. But what is your favourite pizza? I’m curious…

Mimi says being full and sets down a half eaten crust, hoping to save her final two slices for breakfast.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
I’m an old school, classic type of guy, mang. Regular cheese and tomato pizza will do right by me. Though I like venison and cheddar, and anchovies too!

MIMI SMITH:
You’re a fishy guy, Button!
You’re a fishy guy, Button!
Mimi says through her giggles and gets her purse out as the bill comes by with clever little mints designed to be adorable kitty cats.
MIMI SMITH:
Honey said you got a Hawaiian with her one time though.
Honey said you got a Hawaiian with her one time though.
As she ruffles through and finds her purse.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
Honey, and Trixie, and plenty other people that asked, mang. Mostly because they do it to TORTURE ME.

Mimi gasps.
MIMI SMITH:
Honey would never torture.
Honey would never torture.
Mariano raises a hand.
MARIANO FERNANDEZ:
No, Honey was completely innocent BUT EVERYONE ELSE WANTED TO SEE ME SUFFER!
No, Honey was completely innocent BUT EVERYONE ELSE WANTED TO SEE ME SUFFER!
Mimi lightly laughs at his dramatics. After they pay and Mimi gets her pizza leftovers, the pair get up and make their way out of the restaurant with Mimi asking the closing question.
MIMI SMITH:
So who got you a switch?
So who got you a switch?
As the exit the restaurant and the scene comes to a close.
