Riot in New Mexico
Live from Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, NM
Friday , February 8th, 2019
The cameras take us inside the packed Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho. The fans are already loud and excited for the last Riot show before the PPV, Deep In The Heart, a show that, as the General Manager Yulia Kirilenko promised one week ago, will shed some light on the title situation here on the Orange brand. Three Days Grace's "Riot" blared through the loudspeakers, and the usual display of colored lights dancing on the stage welcomed the fans at home. We cut to the ringside area, finding Zackary Dyson and Alyx Valero sitting at their place.
Zackary Dyson:
Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the fourth episode of Riot, cominf to you live from Rio Rancho, in New Mexico!
Alyx Valero:
Eight days man... Eight days to the biggest pay-per-view in MWE history, the first ever for this roster!
Zackary Dyson:
You're right Alyx! And while the title matches for the Millennium brand have already been announced, we still don't know anything about the Riot Championship and the Invictus Championship.
Alyx Valero:
We will be hearing from Yulia later tonight, but first, we have a debut here tonight. The young up and comer Jordan Ayers will be taking on Liv Mercer, who cemented herself as one of the top names here on Riot!
Zackary Dyson:
You know how Yulia rolls... It's sink or swim here in Riot, there's no doormat to welcome you, you get in here, you better be ready for a fight. Let's see if Jordan can hang in here!
Alyx Valero:
That's right... Moving on, we have two Invictus rules match tonight. TNT against Big D and Brendan taking on the Knightmare, Nikki Knight.
Zackary Dyson:
First match under these rules for Dakota and Nikki, while their opponents are no strangers to them. They should be both interesting matches.
Alyx Valero:
Just like Tiny Des versus Zakary Wiley and Franky Harris taking on Cole Gregory... Man, The Beef is huge!
Zackary Dyson:
Cole is the best striker in Riot, the question is: would that be enough to take down the giant?
Alyx Valero:
I'm sure Dean would argue with you on the "best striker" part. We will see him in action in our main event, once more against Gabriel Hooke.
Zackary Dyson:
Well, that's all for tonight's card. Let's kick this show off... Folks, are you READY TO RIOT?
Singles Match
Jordan Ayers VS Liv MercerLiv Mercer has been on a roll since after losing in her debut match against The Brooklyn Barbie, winning her last two matches in a convincing fashion. And tonight she was set to face the newest addition to the Riot roster, Jordan Ayers, a rookie who started to make a name for himself in California Wrestling. The match started with Liv taking the opponent down with an arm drag, keeping him down and applying pressure on his shoulder with the most basic of submissions. Jordan got back on his feet and rolled forward, switching the hold and twisting the arm behind her back. Live broke free with an elbow shot, landing some stiff chops that lit Jordan’s chest up and sending him against the ropes, flipping him over her head with a back body drop, She then turned around, seeing the opponent on the ground and smiling at him condescendingly. She picked him up, getting back on the attack with a sequence of punches and kicks, building up some momentum and ending it with a roundhouse kick, making the cover for a two count. After the tough start, with a first part of the match totally dominated by Liv, Ayers finally got over the debut pressure that seemed to be affecting him and started to find his footing in this match. landing a few palm strikes and some kicks of his own. With a Teep Kick, he sent Mercer in the corner, and quickly reached her with a running uppercut. Grabbing the middle rope, he bent forward and drove his shoulder in her gut a few times, before driving her face first on the mat with a bulldog. Mercer kicked out of the pinning predicament and went back on the attack, blocking a right hand and hooking around Jordan’s neck, dropping down with an arm trap neckbreaker. She then waited for him to stand up and went for a superkick, catching him right on the jaw and going for another cover. The back and forth action went on for a few more minutes, with the fans progressively went behind Ayers who almost got the win out of a moonsault. Mercer exploited a distraction from her boyfriend to poke his eyes to turn things around when Jordan was in control, hitting him with her straight jacket neckbreaker slam and turning once again the table. She had him locked in a waist lock, trying to go for a german suplex and meeting Jordan’s fierce resistance. He was able to switch position, sliding behind her back and taking her to the mat with a backstabber. Once grounded, he locked her in his Body Cage, leaving Liv no chance but to tap out. WINNER: Jordan Ayers BY: Submission (Body Cage), 11:38 |
The feed cuts to the parking lot of the Arena. The black Escalade surrounded by four men dressed in suits can't belong to anyone else but the MWE owner, Grace van Beek. The tinted glass doesn't allow to see who's inside, but the Diamond Princess' voice can be heard from inside the vehicle.
Grace van Beek:
You did convince me. I would say that it is a pleasure doing business with you, but i reserve my judgement ntil everything he is done. Do not disappoint me.
The head of her security, Ryen Riekert notices the cameraman. Him approaching and snatching the camera off his hands is the last thing we see before the feed cuts to black.

Zakari Wiley VS Tiny Des Both wrestlers were looking to get back on track here tonight, sharing the same path in Riot with a win in their debut match and two losses after that. It was going down to who wanted it the most, which was hard to tell since Zakari and Des went all out from the get going. Jacob Figgins' sister countered an irish whip sending Wiley against the ropes and hitting her with a leg lariat. There was a first pinfall attempt that barely got her a one count. La Sombra Negra got up to her feet and got free from the opponent's headlock with an elbow to the stomach, quickly grabbing the doubled over opponent's head and flipping him over with a snapmare, following up with a dropkick to the back. This time it was Zakary who went for a cover with the same result her opponent got before, a one count. After an exciting exchange of pinning predicaments featuring a sunset flip, a backslide and a few innovative cradles, the two contenders found one in front of the other in an intense staredown. They locked up once again and Zakary wrapped her arms around Des' head in a tight headlock, resisting a few attempts to break it before running up the ropes and smashing her face first on the mat with a corner springboard bulldog. She followed with a legfrop to the back of the neck, rolling Tiny Des on her back to try another cover. But the Kansas born surprised her with yet another cradle, pinning her shoulder to the mat for an extremely close call. Wiley immediately went for a lariat, ducked by Figgins who nailed her with a reverse rana. Destiny took a run to the ropes and dove on her with a springboard moonsault, still not enough to get the win. The contest continued with a fast paced back and forth action. La Sombra Negra landed on her feet after a belly to back suplex attempt and caught the opponent on the face with a pele kick. Destiny rolled under the bottom rope and on the apron to avoid being pinned, but obviously Zakary wasn't going to give her much time to recover, grabbing her by the air and pulling her up to her feet. A brawl followed and The Black Shadow was the one coming up on top and trying to suplex the opponent back in the ring. Tiny Des tried to resist, grabbing the rope and blocking the attempt, countering with one of her own. Wiley somehow was able to shift her bodyweight and landed on her feet on the apron, a far better fate than being dropped on the floor. But the sigh of relief died in her throat when Destiny kicked her on the gut and lifted her once again in a suplex position, dropping her with a brainbuster on the apron. The fans applauded the move as Figgins entered the ring once again, keeping an eye on the opponent outside and, as soon as she stood back up, clearly still rocked by the high impact move, she dove over the top rope and landed on Wiley with a Tope Con Hilo. It took a moment for both of them to stand up. Obviously Destiny was the first to do so, picking the opponent up and whipping her against the ring post, at least in her intentions. Des was the one being introduced to the cold steel when Zak reversed the irish whip. Every gameplan was now gone, the two competitors started brawling outside, ignoring the referee count that, eventually, reached ten, signaling the end of the match. WINNER: // BY: Double Count Out, 8:36 |
Backstage we see Nikki Knight getting ready, preparing more than usual considering the style of the contest she’s about to take part in. The blonde looks up at the camera and offers a smile.
Nikki Knight:
Ok first off, Brendan Callaghan, I just have to bring up “Captain Liberty”. Yes I know that’s a reference to Liberty Pro, but come on you couldn’t think I wouldn’t have to bring it up. Sounds like Captain America’s lame back-up buddy who isn’t as good as Falcon or Bucky. A guy who wears the American flag as a toga maybe, since he can’t afford the full outfit.
The blonde laughs at her own reference and sighs, smiling.
Nikki Knight:
And he is the next on the list. Next for me to test myself against. But it’s not the man I’m concerned about, if I’m concerned at all that is. It’s the rules, something very different compared to anything I’ve done yet. And...in a way it’s exciting. Invictus Rules. A sort of MMA inspired contest, something I’ve trained for but never really touched on outside of some sparring here and there. But to finally get to do it, and against CAPTAIN LIBERTY, well it’s something I simply can’t pass up. But he may be that Captain, but I am the Captain of my Soul.
The blonde ties her hair back in a ponytail.
Nikki Knight:
Speaking of Invictus, Brendan, have you ever read the poem? Probably not, you don’t look like the reading type. Well, let me pass on a few lines that are circling through my head right now. “My head is bloody, but unbowed....I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul.” Tonight I don’t care where you’ve come from, what you’ve done and who you claim to be. Tonight all that matters is the fight, and I plan on testing your resolve. And when you pass out, you can thank the Canadian Knightmare.
With that the feed fades out.

Invictus Rules
Brendan Callaghan VS Nikki KnightInvictus Rules
Nikki expressed her concern and curiosity about being in an Invictus rules match earlier in the night. This was the first time for her, unlike her opponent who already fought once under this stipulation in a losing effort against Tobie Nox Thorne. And tonight Brendan was looking to turn his luck around. First Round: And Captain Liberty started with the right foot, aggressive since the opening bell with his unique and unpredictable style of offense. Nikki was having a hard time finding a counter to the hard strikes of the surprisingly serious and focused, almost guided step by step by his girlfriend and managed Jade Night. Eventually Knight was able to regain control, blocking one of Brendan’s kicks and taking him down with a dragon screw leg whip. Keeping her hold on the leg, she started kicking him behind the knee, opening her way for a figure four submission. Callaghan tried to reach the ropes, forgetting for a moment that the Invictus Rules don’t provide for the rope break. And in fact once he grabbed the bottom rope, the referee told him that he couldn’t tell Nikki to let him go. Brendan then started punching Nikki’s thigh until she had to break the hold, using the ropes to pull himself up. Knight dragged him back in the ring, hitting a couple of right forearm before Brendan broke up the momentum she was building with a poke to the eye. The referee caught him, and immediately informed the judges to deduct a point for Nathan’s son. Still, he capitalized on the opening with some uppercuts, but then the bell rang, and the round was over. Judges Score: Kirilenko: Knight 10-8 Dyson: Knight 10-8 Valero: Knight 10-8 Second Round: According to the three judges, the round was won by Nikki. And that penalty point only made things even tougher for Brendan. He had a long talk with Jade, to the point that the referee had to call them twice before finally getting the second round started. And it started just like the second ended, with Nikki’s kicks forcing Callaghan into a corner. Her relentless attack was not giving him any room to breathe, Knee strikes and heavy kicks forced him on the floor, just where she wanted him for her Cannonball Crush. This time Brendan found the break he needed without having to resort to cheap tactics, countering a springboard crossbody with a codebreaker. It was the game changer that allowed Brendan to get in control, hitting the Awesome AF combo (two lariats and a springboard forearm smash) and following it up with his stalling falling chokebomb called Southie Glory. He capitalized on it applying a dragon sleeper, squeezing the life out of Nikki. Knight tried to resist, with just a little more than one minute to the end of the round. But eventually she passed out, and Brendan got a huge win one week before the PPV. WINNER: Brendan Callaghan BY: Submission (Dragon Sleeper), Round 2; 4:21 |
We cut to the backstage area where Cole Gregory is seen pacing back and forth just outside of his locker room. He has all of his gear on and looks ready for his match tonight. He seems to be mumbling a bit to himself, talking out his game plan silently, and doesn’t hear the camera crew coming up to him due to the earbuds playing music in his ears. He turns and sees the camera, drawing a smile to his face. He takes out the earbuds and lets out a sigh.
Cole Gregory:
You know, I joined Riot because of its Invictus Rules. I told everyone that last show that it made this place feel like home. So I guess that’s why I feel like it’s ironic that the very next show? I’m in a basic wrestling match. Now, I get it… I do… I know that not every match can be with the Invictus Rules and that some of them are going to be your standard wrestling matches. Doesn’t mean that I have to be pleased with having to be in one. Maybe it’s just because this is my first non Invictus Rules bout here in Riot but I’m taking it with a grain of salt.
He tilts his head just slightly and bites on his lower lip.
Cole Gregory:
So I’m looking to getting into this match and getting out as fast as I can. I don’t mind wrestling, I really don’t, but when you got a taste for something sweeter? It makes it kind of a drag to come back to it. It’s just a necessary step to get where I want to be in my career and that is as a champion again. I get that Dean Smith is out there calling his shot for the championships here but I think my name deserves to be in that conversation too. I’m waiting for my chance to even up the score with him too. But tonight? Tonight my focus is on Franky Harris.
His smile slowly returns to his face again.
Cole Gregory:
Now, I know that Beef is major student of the sport and rolls through countless hours of tape so he knows that I am going to be a match up problem for him tonight. My speed and fast strikes are going to frustrate you and leave you open to make mistakes. I’m going to focus on your legs and chop you down… That’s right, I just explained my game plan because I don’t think you are able to stop it once I get it going. I’m also not an idiot, I know that I’m going to get slammed and beat on in this match. I know once you get ahold of me that you are going to do everything you can to break me and… I’m looking forward to it. Because I have been training and preparing for you to give me your strongest stuff and know just what to do with it.
Cole rolls his shoulders and seems to have a bit of pep in his step now.
Cole Gregory:
So bring all you got Beef… And do what your manager said you would and go down swinging.
He smiles again before putting his earbuds back in and walking down the hall.

Franky Harris VS Cole GregoryCole made it clear. His focus is on the Invictus Championship and, with a 2-1 record, he could be considered one of most serious candidates for the title. But tonight, he was set to face a huge challenge in The Beef Franky Harris, and in a regular match. Before the bell rang, Charlotte Webster gave her client the last words of advice. The big man listened to them, nodding his head while keeping his eyes on Cole, who was waiting in the center of the ring. The match finally started, and Gregory immediately went for his striking based offense, swift kicks to the legs to chop the big man down. Finally Harris was on his knee and Cole sprinted to the ropes hitting him with a running knee, following with the cover. He didn't expect to win so soon, but he was equally surprised when Franky powered out with authority in one. The strategy Cole was adopting to win this match was simple. Quick and precise attacks to slowly wear down the behemoth. And, most importantly, stay out of reach. It doesn't take a genius to figure out how Franky's massive fists were something you'd want to avoid, and a quick look at his match last week already showed that his brute strength is a potential game changer at any point. And it worked out quite well for Cole, who even got himself another near fall after a Leg Lariat. Cole's mistake was trying to go for a submission. Despite his undoubted skills, applying his kimura lock on the massive arm wasn't an easy feat. What looked extremely easy though was how quickly Franky escaped it and picked up Gregory, shoving him in the corner and squashing him with a corner splash. Charlie applauded her client who was now hitting the poor Cole with hard chops, landing four of them before lifting him for a stalling vertical suplex. dropping him on the mat after a ridiculously long hang time. The fans were cheering loudly for both competitors, unable to pick a favorite in a battle where they were holding nothing back. Cole had Franky in the corner after an impressive striking combination, started with a few quick jabs and followed by some left and right kicks to the legs and a back elbow that stunned the big man. He then went for a jumping knee to the chin and, finally, a shotgun dropkick that pushed Harris back in the corner. Gregory charged with a Yakuza kick, and finally Harris fell down. The former Anarchy Champion climber to the ropes, ready to dive on the opponent. Charlotte called him and started arguing. in a blatant attempt to buy his client some time. Cole was having none of it, shaking his head and turning his attention back to Harry who was now standing back to his feet. He jumped off the top rope with a crossbody, getting caught in mid air by the big man who then dropped him on his knee with a backbreaker. The momentum of the match shifted once again in The Beef's favor, who was now tossing Cole around like a rag doll with a fallaway slam, charging at him with a running headbutt as soon as he got back to his feet. At that point, he only had to pick him up in a pumphandle position and drive him to the mat with an ace crusher, taking home a huge win against one of the biggest stars in Riot. WINNER: Franky Harris BY: Pinfall (Beef Crusher), 11:52 |
Dean Smith is seen backstage currently in a semi-made up area near the room Riot staff have reorganised to be a gym. Wearing a polo shirt that hangs over his jeans, minorly obscuring his belt. His outfit is complete with some glasses on and he begins to speak.
Dean Smith:
Tonight is a different approach for me. There’s some invictus matches going on but I’m not in them to be frank.
Dean Smith:
And a couple nights ago I headlined my first Millennium show. Though I didn’t walk away the contender, the opportunity I was given.
He says speaking with his hands throughout and gestures to himself.
Dean Smith:
That speaks volumes about tonight’s match. Because Gabriel Hooke was not offered the match. They had a large pool of Riot’s roster to pick from, the ‘Pure’ wrestlers and they overlooked everyone. Here’s why.
Dean Smith:
Maybe Yulia put a good word in, but my work speaks for itself. Invictus matches involving me have never gone to decision. Millinnium saw what I could do and sees me as a champion. They know I win, they know I knockout. Gabriel Hooke knows this and on social media I hope you saw him admit who was the better man. But it’s not over
He raises his cheek with a half-hearted shrug.
Dean Smith:
Tonight we’re going to compete under those regular rules. Maybe fans are getting used to me being that Handsome guy who knees your brains out. But I’m trained, I’m ready to step out there tonight and show Gabriel once again his submissions aren’t going to save him. My submissions are going to shock and wreck him. My strikes are going to tenderize him until he’s wobbling dead on his feet. Then, I’ll mercifully put Gabriel down. Just you watch.
As Dean gives the camera a slightly narrowed eyed look before walking off.

Invictus Rules
Dakota Lockard VS Tobie Nox ThorneInvictus Rules
This was the first match under Invictus rules for The Man Of Destiny Dakota Lockard, against the former [R]evolution Pro Tag Team Champion Tobie Nox Thorne who, thus far, had a 1-1 record in this division, winning her first match via judges decision against Brendan Callaghan and coming up short in her second match last week against Cole Gregory. First Round Dakota started off strong with his brawling style, stiff punches and hard elbows that were rocking the blonde girl, taken aback by this aggression from the opponent. Lockard then kicked her in the stomach and went for his patented package piledriver, watching with a smirk as she was slowly trying to get back on her feet. He wasted some time taunting her and the fans, yelling “Is this the best you got?” mocking the young girl as he grabbed her by her hair and pulled her back to her feet. And this was the biggest mistake he could’ve ever made. The disrespect shown ignited a new spark in Tobie, who broke free from the suplex attempt with a few punches to the stomach and dropped Big D on his head with a running ddt. As soon as he got back up to his feet, she knocked him down once more with a spinning heel kick. The fans were firmly behind TNT, who took the match to the mat, where she controlled it thanks to the BJJ techniques she had been training into in the past month. From a side control position, she slid her arm under his elbow, locking him in an Americana Lock. With nowhere to go, Lockard had no choice but to tap out, giving Tobie an impressive first round win. WINNER: Tobie Nox Thorne BY: Submission (Americana Lock), First round; 4:16 |
The cheers for Tobie are just starting to fade down when Yulia Kirilenko stands up from her seat and enters the ring, causing the round of applause to grow in intensity once again as the fans know the moment they have been waiting for is finally here. Smiling at the General Manager, TNT leaves the ring and the scene to the young russian.
Yulia Kirilenko:
So, I guess it's time to reveal my hand and announce the Riot matches for Deep In The Heart, right?
More cheers coming form the seven thousand who filled the Arena tonight.
Yulia Kirilenko:
In these four weeks, I watched these guys competing in regular and in Invictus matches. Some of them did good excelled in the traditional style, some other expressed their interest and proved they can thrive in a hybrid setting. It wasn't easy, but I made a decision.
Let's start with Zakary Wiley and Gabriel Hooke. Your first match ended with a controversy, and ever since you proved to be having two diametral opposite approaches to wrestling. I believe it's time we set this once and for all. That's why this next saturday in San Antonio you two will fight once again. The winner? They'll have a guaranteed title shot at the Riot Champion, whoever they will be.
A pause, until the excitement fades down.
Yulia Kirilenko:
And on the first night of the PPV, we will also see two Invictus matches, with Tobie Nox Thorne taking on Dean Smith and Brendan Callaghan taking his shot at redemption against Cole Gregory. Let's call these matches the semi-finals, since the winners of said matches will fight on Sunday for the Invictus Championship.
The volume of cheers was now almost deafening.
Yulia Kirilenko:
As for the Riot Championship... Six person, elimination rules. And the last person standing will write their name in history. Dakota Lockard, Tiny Des, Franky Harris, Nikki Knight, Liv Mercer and Jordan Ayers... The stage is yours. Good luck to everyone and may the best wrestler win.
With a smile, Yulia patiently wait for the cheers to slow down. There's something else she wants to add.
Yulia Kirilenko:
As for the future of Riot... First things first, after Deep In The Heart we will move our shows to Saturday night. And, hold on to your seats because this is huge, we will celebrate the new airtime with a tournament that will span for four weeks, culminating at the next Pay-Per-View. What kind of tournament are you asking? MWE is all about bringing the best wrestling to your screens, and this time we will bring to you the best cruiserweights in the world, competing for a chance to become the first ever Riot Junior heavyweight Champion.
The news definitely received a positive reaction, with loud "Riot" chants accompanying a happy and pleased Yulia as she leaves the ring and walks up the ramp, heading backstage as the show goes on with the highly anticipated main event.

Gabriel Hooke VS Dean SmithThe main event of the fourth episode of Riot was a rematch of last week’s fight between Dean Smith and Gabriel Hooke. But this time, the contest was sanctioned under regular rules rather than the Invictus that advantaged Dean one week ago. But this didn’t seem to hold much weight as Smith started off strong, staying away from Gabriel’s grasp and keeping the pressure on him with his hard ground and pound offense. Hooke raised his arms to protect his face from the hammering, leaving his ribs and midsection unprotected. And Dean feasted on it, raining down lefts and rights until Gabriel was able to reach up and lock him in a choke, forcing Dean to stop his offense to try fight out of the submission. After recovering from the tough start, Hooke looked in great shape tonight, focused and determined to get that first win that fled him until now. And he tried to accomplish it doing what he does best, suplexing his opponent, starting with a lightning quick snap suplex and following with a series of three germans, the last one with a bridge. Dean kicked out and went for a big right hand, ducked by Gabriel who then grbbed his arm and hooked his legs around the other one and rolling him over in a crucifix pin, forcing Smith to another kick out. The pace of the match picked up and that worked in Hooke’s favor, allowing him to showcase his agility and technique. After tossing Dean around with a series of arm drags, he went for a float over ddt, planting him on his head and going for another cover. As often happens in these situations, right when Gabriel seemed to be in full control, Smith turned things around with one, devastating blow, almost taking the opponent’s head off with a discus lariat. Smith picked him up, rocked him with some heavy uppercuts and took a run to the ropes, grabbing him by the back of his head and slammed his face on the mat, adding, literally, insult to injury with some trash talk as he made it up to his feet, before knocking him out with a straight punch. For the first time Dean went for a pinfall, but at the very last second Hooke lifted his shoulder. Smith had him now in a side headlock, and from that position he hit him with some throat jabs, leaving Gabriel’s breathless. That’s when he easily picked him up for a stalling vertical suplex with an impressive hang time before dropping him down. The surprising end came when Dean was going for his Fireman’s carry double knee gutbuster. Gabriel slipped away behind his back and nailed him with his Hooked On A Facebuster(Belly to Back Wheelbarrow Facebuster into an Oklahoma Roll) that gave him his first win in Riot. Smith couldn’t believe it, staring at the referee who confirmed the three count. WINNER: Gabriel Hooke BY: Pinfall (Hooked On A Facebuster), 13:47 |
