Gimmick
Brutal brawler with technical ability. Loves suplexes (calls them Hammerplexes) and chain wrestling, but prefers to brawl. Totally okay with fighting outside the ring, in the crowd, in the back, or in the street. Rumored to be certifiably insane, though no legitimate testing has been done. Hard drinking, hard fighting, hardcore brawler who melts at the sight of his wife, Holly and their baby, Zoe.
Personality:
Hammer can be a bit of a douchebag. Sarcastic, mean-spirited at times, but always honest. He has a tender heart when it comes to children and animals.
Strengths
Will not quit. Will absorb massive amounts of punishment and keep coming.
Technical Maniac. An accomplished wrestler, Hammerstein can go hold for hold and move for move with the best of them. He just tends to prefer a bloody brawl.
World traveler. Travelling across the globe has given him ample learning opportunities, and he has made the most of them.
Extremely high self confidence. Has the same never say die attitude he had as a face, but with a decidedly cockier edge
Weaknesses
Takes more punishment than needed. He'll recklessly wade right into a fight, sometimes with disastrous results.
Concussions. His no holds barred style has led to several instances of trauma to his head.
Constant travel has left him spread too thin at times.

CHARACTER HISTORY/BIOThe product of a forbidden relationship between a high ranking member of the Tohono O'Odham Indian tribe and the daughter of a traveling Rabbi, the child named Łééchąą'í, or 'Dog' was accepted by neither side of his family, and was taken to the desert and abandoned to become food for the wildlife. Thankfully he was found by an old hippie couple and taken to an orphanage in Tucson, Arizona. At the age of seven, he ran away from the orphanage after being deemed “unplaceable.” The youngster somehow made his way to Phoenix, where he was “adopted” by a street gangs. Dog grew up quickly on the streets of Phoenix, running afoul of local law enforcement on a regular basis. A local magistrate was going to send him to juvenile detention, when a man asked to approach the judge. The man announced himself as the boy's only surviving relative on his mother's side, Jeremiah Hammerstein. He asked for, and was granted, custody of the wayward boy, who he adopted and renamed Jacob Hammerstein. The man took Jacob to his meager home in Whynot, Mississippi, and began homeschooling the boy. Watching wrestling became a point of reference between generations. Jacob told his Uncle he wanted to become a wrestler, so Jeremiah cashed in his life insurance and found someone to train him. RED, a retired local wrestler, who, as it turned out, was a con artist, took Hammerstein's money and taught him little to no actual actual skills. His first matches consisted of Jacob getting beaten unmercifully by some of RED's old wrestling buddies, who were also the promoters of the shows. Jacob's pay usually consisted of a cold hot dog and a flat soda, as the crooked promoters typically split the boy’s money with RED. In August 2005, Jacob didn't even earn enough money for a bus ticket from Gulfport to Meridian and had to hitch a ride with a family evacuating because of Hurricane Katrina. Jacob never forgot that.
Hammerstein’s final experience with RED came when he was sent to work a show he was not even contracted for. When the promoter saw the passion and disappointment the nineteen year old showed, he took pity on him, and hired him on as part of the ring crew. Hammerstein worked hard, his work ethic earning the respect of several wrestlers on the roster, who agreed to train him. The traveling show aspect of the Southern independent wrestling circuit hooked Hammerstein and planted the seeds for his vagabond style.
Jacob plied his trade diligently, while supplementing his income by working as a carpenter, building houses by day and wrestling by night.
A chance meeting led to Hammerstein leaving the Southern circuit and traveling to Texas to wrestle in one of the final incarnations of Strike Towers Wrestling. It was there that he He met the man that would become his best friend/worst enemy, Tiger Mask Red. It was also where he met the woman who would, years later, become his wife, Tiger Mask Red's sister, Holly Guacamole. After STW closed, Jacob went to Pollomania, then its offshoot, Lion's Road. It was there that Hammerstein really blossomed as a wrestler, earning several awards while there. He also signed a contract with Seattle Pro Wrestling, winning awards and titles, all while garnering the cheers and admiration of the fans.
That changed in July 2017, when Hammerstein turned on his friends and fans. He dropped his first name, opting to go by “HAMMERSTEIN,” while earning the nickname “The American Monster.”
Hammerstein saw unparalleled success after his change in attitude, winning four different World Championships on three continents, as well as World Tag Team Championships with three different partners and several regional titles.
During this time, Hammerstein began maturing as a wrestler, relying more on technical wrestling and less on brawling and underhanded tactics. It was at this time that the fans slowly, but surely, welcomed him back into their hearts. His record setting reign as Seattle Pro World Heavyweight Champion earned him the company's Wrestler of the Year award as voted by his peers.
Hammerstein lost the SPW World Title and retired in late 2018, but was goaded out of retirement after several direct and personal attacks by his former manager and his new client.
Since then, more and more of the”American Monster” has begun to show, both in Hammerstein's attitude and his tactics.
