Riot in Italy
Taped from Mediolanum Forum in Milan, Italy
Sunday, April 30th 2023
Abby Blake is backstage as a 1980s harp music plays over the footage. Coming in from the left is some footage of Abby Blake enjoying an ice cream cone. In from the right, Abby Blake backstage stretching her arm out. Both videos float over one another. As the two videos veer off screen a logo appears to stretch from between the video. The logo becomes legible and a feminine voice over reads out the words
Voice Over:
And now, the first ever Blaker Corner with that Chaos Theory Champion Abby Blake.
The Millennium camera feed goes to a blinding white and then fades to Abby waving. She's now without her Chaos Theory championship. As the white completely fades out Abby claps her hands together. Her hands swing off to the side.
Abby Blake:
Hello, Yes. It's Abby here and I am without my championship. I got the five wins and like little Abs did with her arcade tickets.
An old photo shows up on screen at the bottom right; it's of Abby at the young age of 8 passing over some green tickets to a very friendly staff member. Abby then turns to another camera which is higher up and films Abby from a downward angle.
Abby Blake:
I traded in for a shot at the Jr Heavyweight Championship. Currently held by.
We cut back to the first camera and Abby's editing team has managed to find an unflattering photo of the champion. The tag line is Jerk face. Abby noticed this, wiped it away and snaps her fingers to bring up a better caption. One word, eight letters and letters 2-4 are blurred out by MWEs editing team.
Abby Blake:
Yep, him. The guy who referred to me as a footnote. This way back in the summer of '22. Been. A. While.
Abby Blake:
What's changed? I'm honestly way better than I was a year ago. I've picked up important victories while Rainer has been stealing his girlfriends phone to make certain tweets. I'm guessing the flashy car doesn't compensate enough.
She pauses for the studio audience to react, several seconds before she snatches back the narrative.
Abby Blake:
Couldn't resist. As for Bree, I got no bad blood with her. She's got her own thing with Rainer, but I worked too hard to get here right?
Abby's studio audience agrees she has.
Abby Blake:
Exactly. Exactly! So I just wanted to update all the Blaker gang on what's happening and I'll end by taking one question from the audience.
The camera cuts to one of the other cameras, this reveals the set light and some of the audience. Due to no mic being on the guy asking, subtitles have been provided:
Audience Member:
Who do you think will be the new Chaos champ?
Abby, listens to her set manager who relays the question to her and she smiles, already knowing the answer.
Abby Blake:
Easy. I'm backing Millie. I think she'll go all the way, cashing in and we'll fight it out. And if that does happen, I'll be ready. Because I'm going to be a fair, just, fighting champion.
Abby finishes her little show as her theme song plays in the small mini studio, the logo comes back up again before it cuts to a small commercial break.
Tag Team Match
2MF1 & Walker & Jasper King VS Warblade 42 & Sisters Of Calamity
Following up on what they said on Twitter, Kiki and Camila let their partners commence the hostility. What they didn't expect was to see the Academy graduates take control so easily and dominate the first part of the contest. Under the guidance of the sly New Yorker, Jasper was an incredibly powerful tool, able to handle the attacks of both the SoC and Warblade. Only Valkyrie seemed to have what it takes to threaten the King Of Pumpkins' dominance, but her momentum didn't last long as Walker tagged in and took her down with a springboard crossbody. All four teams had their chance to shine. If the first part of the match saw the Academy graduates dominating, the SoC eventually managed to turn the tide with a 3D on Walker. Tag to Valkyrie who lifted the Bamboozler for a stalling suplex and walked to her corner where Niko made another tag and entered the ring, standing in front of her partner. The suplex switch was completed and the Japanes held her opponent upside down a little longer before taking him to the canvas. 2MF1 had been barely involved up until then, saving themselves for the final part of the match. Fresher than their opponents, they easily took control, scoring a few near falls on their rivals. One of these, coming after their trademark Take The L on Valkyrie was the triggering factor for a much predictable all-out brawl. The referee tried to restore the order, but the situation had gotten completely out of hand. Only option was to wait until the ring started clearing naturally, as bodies began to fly everywhere. Camila was left in the ring with Valkyrie and fell victim of the Hammer Of Thor for the win. WINNER: Warblade 42 & Sisters Of Calamity BY: Pinfall (Hammer Of Thor), 10:30 |
We come backstage where we see the holder of the prize herself, Emma Wakefield and her amore, Bobby Bradley sitting backstage, Emma with a big smile on her face ready to deliver some pretty important news. In her hands she is holding the envelope in question as she does a little happy dance in the spot where she’s standing, dressed in her ring gear, having decided to go with the combination of teal and silver on this very special evening.
Emma Wakefield:
I’m excited! Are you feeling excited Bobby?!
Bobby claps along with Emma’s dance, nodding along
Bobby Bradley:
Very excited, you’ve got a big night ahead of you and you look fantastic, what’s not to be excited about?
Emma Wakefield:
Things are looking up for me in a big way!
As she is speaking, Emma makes some dramatic gestures with both of her hands, waving the envelope around in front of Bobby’s face.
Emma Wakefield:
And it’s all thanks to this right here.
Bobby Bradley:
That envelope there?
Bobby eyes it for a second, gesturing to it as well.
Bobby Bradley:
Why, that could only mean one thing, Emma!
Emma Wakefield:
What could it mean Bobby?!
Emma’s eyes open wide with excitement as she finally stops with all of her dancing and gesturing with her arms. He eyes her for a second before giving her the answer that she was expecting.
Bobby Bradley:
Why, I believe it means you’re going to reveal what’s in your envelope!
Emma Wakefield:
That’s right! The time has finally come for me to reveal what’s in my envelope.
Emma takes a deep breath as she holds the envelope out in front of herself in both of her hands, the camera panning in closer to further build up the anticipation, as she glances over towards Bobby with a smile on her face.
Emma Wakefield:
Can I get a drumroll please?
Bobby starts tapping his knees as quickly as he can, adding in the rolling of his tongue for added sound effects as Emma does a flourish with the envelope.
Bobby Bradley:
Dun dun dun dun!
Emma quickly rips open the envelope, no doubt having been just as anxious as everyone else to discover her coveted prize, and before she decides to reveal it out loud she quickly scans over the content.
Emma Wakefield:
Oh wow! Bobby, you won’t believe this!
Bobby Bradley:
I don’t believe it!
Of course he hasn’t seen what’s on the envelope, he’s just supporting her. Emma reaches out with one hand to gently touch Bobby’s elbow, laughing a little bit.
Emma Wakefield:
I am very proud to announce that tonight a brand new title is being introduced… the Chaos Theory title…
Emma pauses for a brief moment as she begins to jump in place.
Emma Wakefield:
And yours truly has herself a guaranteed shot at the Chaos Theory title right here in my hand!
Bobby Bradley:
A Brand new title?
Bobby gets up from his seat.
Bobby Bradley:
And you’re challenging for it tonight? That’s great news!
Emma Wakefield:
Yes! I think I need to capture this opportunity right here tonight!
Bobby Bradley:
You’ve got this Emma! That envelope may as well have a golden ticket in it given what you can have now. You’ve got this!
Emma jumps into Bobby’s arms, feeling even more excited now, as she holds up the envelope in one hand in a triumphant manner.
Emma Wakefield:
Feels like I already have the golden ticket with your support.
Bobby catches Emma with a big smile on his face, holding her up high.
Bobby Bradley:
Aww, well that’s a lot of pressure to live up to, but I’ll do my darndest!
Emma laughs as she gives him a kiss on the cheek as the camera cuts back to the ringside area after this big announcement having been revealed. Finally the mystery of what was inside of her prize envelope has been revealed.
Chaos Theory Championship Match
Four-Way
Millie Smith VS Betsy Gallagher VS Nate Krelle VS Emma WakefieldFour-Way
The tirple threat became a four-way after Emma announced that the prize she won at Anarchy In The UK was a Chaos Theory shot and she was going to use it tonight. Nate didn't appreciate the addition of a third opponent and "welcomed" Wakefield with a stiff lariat before the bell even sounded. We witnessed a lot of pinning attempts in the first part of this contest, the 15 minutes time limit perhaps rushing the competitors into trying to end this as quickly as possible. Of all these early attempts, Betsy's British End on Millie was the closest to three. The Anti-Trend's aggressive side was on full display tonight and it helped him taking control of the situation. He had cleared the ring of both Betsy and Emma, having now only Millie standing between him and the Chaos Theory title. He set Smith up for the F'in Krelle (ruby cutter) but Millie had that scouted and she managed to slip out of his grasp, rolling over his back and plant him on his head with a DDT. Before she could capitalize, she got put out of commission by a Betsy Bomb. Gallagher got planted on her face by Emma's Emmargency Call (springboard bulldog), but just as the former Academy student was ready to make the cover, she got grabbed by Krelle. Emma was quick to react and catch her in the standing guillotine she called A Real DilEmma to wear him out before smoothly transitioning into her patented From Your Emmagination DDT to win the first title in her career. WINNER: Emma Wakefield (NEW CHAOS THEORY CHAMPION) BY: Pinfall (From Your Emmagination), 11:24 |
We cut backstage where we find Angelica Jones dressed in her traditional black flame design wrestling gear and signature black leather jacket. Her long hair, typically red, is dyed a platinum blonde for today. A confident gaze is etched across her face as she gazes deep into the camera.
Angelica Jones:
When I signed with MWE, I honestly never expected things to go as well as they have. I earned a Chicago Way Title shot and nearly came away with the victory. I defeated a former World Champion in Duke Andrews. But there’s still so much more for me to do. The Battle for the Briefcase is coming up. Have I been chosen to participate? Has my success thus far been enough to prove that a grizzled veteran like me is worthy of such an opportunity?
She chuckles.
Angelica Jones:
Can you imagine someone like me with that kind of power? I have a reputation for being very ruthless and very cunning. I am called The Dragon and not just because it is a cute nickname. I can be a monster when need be. Imagine The Dragon with the power of the briefcase? Imagine me earning a fourteenth World Championship? I like the sound of that.
Jones shrugs her shoulders.
Angelica Jones:
But I’m getting ahead of myself. The Battle for the Briefcase is not even here yet and I don’t even know if I will be in the tournament. But I do that tonight I get to make a case for myself against an MWE stalwart…someone who arguably should have been MWE World Champion on two separate occasions already…Tiff…
She grins knowingly.
Angelica Jones:
This is the stereotypical future of the business versus the past. This is the old lion versus the young lion. I don’t doubt that you are dangerous, Tiff, and I don’t question that you are the future of MWE. But I am not just some old veteran in this for one last run. I am here because I still believe I can go. I am here because I still have a lot to give. And I won’t be pushed to the side by anyone, not even by you. So good luck tonight against The Dragon. You will need it.
Jones turns and walks off.
Singles Match
Tiff VS Angelica JonesThe Tiff nation was loud and proud here in Milan tonight, singing along her theme throughout her entrance. She returned the love by shaking hands and posing for selfies with the first row fans before finally entering the ring just as her song came to an end. Their energy was the wind on the Death Kicker's sails in the early part of the match where the former Cloud Gate champion busted out her arsenal of strikes and kept the more experienced opponent on the ropes, coming close to the win with the Peacemaker (leaping knee). The Firestarter had showed time and time again that "she still had it". Even tonight she weathered the storm brought by Tiff and then, slowly but steadily, worked her way back. Like a phoenix, she came back From The Ashes and planted the former Cloud Gate champion on her skull with a moonsault into a reverse DDT, countering the Little Hoss irish whip in a spectacular way. Rollins didn't stay down, immediately trying to swing the momentum back in her favor. And she was successful at that, soon having Jones right where she wanted: on her knees and defenseless against the Death Kick. Not so defenselss, actually, since the Golden Goddess managed to duck the superkick and roll up the younger opponent for a three count that left Tiff and her fans shocked and speechless. WINNER: Angelica Jones BY: Pinfall (Schoolboy Pin), 13:55 |
We get back from commercial break and see Paula 'The Prodigy' Parker, standing in the ring with only one brother, Jackie. Tonight, she wasn't wearing her typical wrestling gear, instead, she had her long blonde hair in a ponytail with bangs brushed over her forehead. She wore an extravagant bodysuit with black boots, but most important, she was holding the microphone tightly up to her lips with a scowl on her face.
Paula Parker:
Tonight is a visual of a tragedy in real life. When I came to Millennium, I came in as an 18 year old rookie, with her THREE supportive brothers by her side. We were a strong family unit, with a rich history of class, dignity, and of course, competitive spirit. Each Riot, you would see me in a ring with Jesse, Justin, and Jackie at ringside, cheering me on like any good brothers would.
Paula pauses as the fans begin to shower her with boos, not feeding into whatever she was feeding them. She looks at Jackie who mouths 'it's okay sis, go on.'
Paula Parker:
As I was saying, we were what every family strives to be, and as my brothers were innocent bystanders at ringside, SOMEONE chose to turn our dream into a nightmare. I think you all know who I'm talking about....
A monstrous chant of 'NINA! NINA! NINA! NINA! NINA!' begins to flood the building as the fans knew exactly Paula was talking about. Of course, they saw it much differently than the loud mouthed rookie, but the chant persists for nearly a minute before Paula begins to talk over them.
Paula Parker:
Yes, NINA! She chose to attack not one, but TWO of my brothers, two NON-WRESTLERS, and for what? To try to bully me into a match? Guess what, NINA? Unlike you? I'm not a coward. If you wanted a one on one match with me, you could have simply asked. You didn't have to resort to barbaric, mischievous tactics...and you didn't need to threaten my poor brother Jackie to get my attention.
Paula rubs the shoulder of her brother Jackie who looks around as the crowd begins to say 'JACKIE SUCKS! JACKIE SUCKS!'
Paula Parker:
NO! Jackie doesn't suck, NINA does, and I'll prove it. You wanted a match at Zeitgeist? Well guess what I signed?
Paula looks ringside at a crew members and snaps her fingers. The man slides into the ring and hands a clipboard to Paula who holds it up for the camera as the crew member slides back out of the ring.
Paula Parker:
Do you see this? This is my name on our match contract, all that's missing is your name Nina. If you want me? You've got me. You just have to live up to your end, come out here and apologize to Jackie and sign it in front of the world...the ball is in your court now!
She holds the clipboard up for the fans as Nina's music hits! The Viper walks out with a microphone in hand and a big smile on her face.
Nina:
Well, well, well... Look who finally grew a pair!
She says to taunt The Prodigy, walking toward the ring with long strides eager to put pen to paper and make the match she wanted official.
Nina:
I won't even comment on the lies you just spew, these fine Italian fans already know you're full of sh...
Before she can finish the sentence, a massive blow from behind knocks her down, courtesy of a perfectly healed Justin. Jesse joins him a moment later, the two Parker brothers getting their revenge on the former intern while Paula watches from inside the ring with a big smile on her face. Fortunately for the Viper, the onslaught doesn't last long as her long time friends the McMillion Brothers come to her rescue. The former MWE tag team champion and currently Road Agents for the company are careful not to lay a finger on Justin and Jesse, limiting to block them and drag them away from Nina. The Parker Bros try to escape, but Christian and Simon are doing a good job at holding them back. Jackie leaves the ring and heads up the ramp to help them finishing the job, but his march comes to an abrupt end as a thynderous "ENOUGH!" echoes from the PA system.
Out comes the Riot General Manager Vincent Moretti, and he's not in a good mood.
Vincent Moretti:
Goddamnit, I can't even enjoy a good Italian pizza in peace without you guys starting some shit!
He wipes his mouth with a napkin before continuing.
Vincent Moretti:
I don't know where you got that piece of paper Paula, but I don't remember signing off any match between you and Nina at Zeitgeist...
The boos begin to rain down, although it's not clear if they are for Paula's fake contract or for what Moretti just said.
Vincent Moretti:
...Yet.
The boos quickly turn into cheers, Paula raises the microphone to her lips to protest the GM's decision but he shuts her up with a firm gesture of his hand. His eyes shift from the Prodigy to the Viper , quickly glancing at the Parker Brothers who have seemingly calmed down, although they're still being hold restrained by the McMillions.
Vincent Moretti:
But I can't give you the match you wanted, Nina. You won't be getting Paula one on one.
It's clear that Moretti is just teasing something big, playing on the crowd and their emotions like he did in his old days as a wrestler. He waits until the new round of boos dies down before dropping an announcement that, he's sure, will please the fans here in Milan, those who will attend Zeitgeist in Berlin and everyone watching it on the Agora Network.
Vincent Moretti:
Seeing this fighting spirit in Justin, Jesse and Jackie truly inspired me. At Zeitgeist, you, Christian and Simon will be taking on Paula and her three brothers in a 3 on 4 handicap match!
Paula is so upset that she even forgets she's holding a microphone. It doesn't make much of a difference as everyone can hear her yelling that her brothers are not even wrestlers loud and clear. Vince smirks and addresses her concerns with a straight out:
Vincent Moretti:
They should have kept that in mind before deciding to interfere WITH MY DAMN SHOW!!
The Silver Fox shouts that last part out loud, winning another round of cheers from the fans. He then throws the microphone to the floor before turning on his heels and heading back to his pizza. In the meantime, Javen and CM have let Justin and Jesse go, keeping an eye on them as they walk back to rejoin the rest of their family. Nina moves in the opposite direction, taking place between the McMillions and placing a hand on their shoulders, thanking them for having her back. The camera work shows us both teams standing one across the other.
Trios Match
Echo & Tiana Petrova-Hammond & Trinity Thompson VS Nine van der Hoek & Saoirse Tyrell & EMP
There was a lot of tension here, which seemed to be a common thing with every match involving The Leader. But that tension wasn't only between the Band Of Nine and thir opponents, but it was definitely running through the trios' ranks, especially between Echo and Trinity. Tiana seemed to have had enough already and took the matters in her hands, starting the match for her team and unleashing all the frustration this situation had created on Tyrell, blasting her with stiff MMA striking combinations. The Academy dropout surprised her with an eye rake and made the tag to Erin Marie Paige, returning to the ring after a long time off. You'd expect to see some ring rust, but she actually showed improvements from her last appearance. But the most striking thing was how well she worked with Saoirse, showing the premises of what could be a dangerous tag team. Trinity tried that first hand, barely surviving a double running knee strike from the opposing team. The former XIX world champion eventually was able to turn the tables with the Knee-Jerk, creating the opening to reach Echo and tag her in. The Australian cleaned house and called out Nine. The Leader stepped up to the challenge and entered the ring, attacking the former Invictus champion who fought back with equal intensity. They didn't leave much room for the fancy stuff, sticking to a direct, in-your-face style based on stiff strikes that perfectly matched the hatred between them. A dropkick from Nine sent Echo back in their corner, causing her to bump into Trinity. The referee considered the accidental collision a tag and invited Trinity to step in. Echo wasn't happy about it, glaring at her tag partner who gladly took the chance to throw some kicks at the woman who harassed her for months. Thompson seemed to be able to bring this home but her 389 attempt found The Leader ready with a counter. Van der Hoek was quick to hit the Seventh Dream. Tiana rushed in to save Trinity, but she was stopped by Saoirse and EMP. Echo, instead, didn't even bother hopping off the apron before the ref counted to three. WINNER: Nine van der Hoek, Saoirse Tyrell & Erin Marie Paige BY: Pinfall (Seventh Dream), 12:19 |
We cut backstage to Matt Stone and his tag team partner, Veronica Sawyer, having what she considers to be a friendly chat about last week’s show.
Matt Stone:
Alright, alright, get on with it.
It’s quite obvious how much Veronica is relishing this moment, the big smile on her face almost impossible to remove, as she takes the time to brush back her blonde curls.
Veronica Sawyer:
Come on Matt, I think I’m allowed to bask in the glory that was MY main event victory.
He sighs, nodding his head.
Matt Stone:
Yeah yeah, I know. To be fair, it makes the team look good, but you don’t need to keep rubbing it in, do you?
Veronica Sawyer:
Would I really be me if I didn’t?
Veronica bats her eyes for added extra effect.
Veronica Sawyer:
Consider it motivation to do better for yourself moving forward.
While she batted her eyes, Matt squinted his at her.
Matt Stone:
Do better for myself? Just what exactly are you implying with that quip?
Veronica Sawyer:
Simply stating facts, my victory is helping push us towards our goal, we’re capturing the attention of everyone on the roster.
Veronica places her hands on her hips as she shrugs her shoulders in a casual manner.
Veronica Sawyer:
I would have expected you to be a little bit more grateful.
Matt Stone:
Grateful? To be fair, I’d be happy if no one knew we existed so long as we had the tag titles. As it stands though, you’re certainly helping our cause. Would you like a pat on the head for that?
Veronica narrows her eyes as she presses her lips together in a firm line.
Veronica Sawyer:
No, but a change in your attitude would be much better.
Matt Stone:
Why, whatever do you mean? I was simply offering you the same thing you’ve done to me after twenty minutes of making it perfect.
Veronica Sawyer:
Perfect is a bit of a stretch…
Veronica shakes her head.
Veronica Sawyer:
And I won’t have you ruin my mood, nothing can bring me down.
As Veronica says that, Matt looks up and down the halls with an expected expression. When nothing comes, he looks disappointed.
Matt Stone:
Damn, I was hoping saying that out loud would trigger some cosmic event that ruins your mood. Maybe if I say Karen’s name enough she’ll just show up.
Veronica Sawyer:
That’s my cue to get out of here.
Veronica rolls her eyes as turns away from Matt to begin her walk down the hall. Matt shakes his head, watching her walk off down the hall.
Matt Stone:
Hate to see her go but love to watch her leave.
Singles Match
Melody Lennox VS Dean SmithAt Zeitgeist, they both will challenge Sophie O'Brian for the Intercontinental championship. A win tonight would be a huge boost in moral and confidence entering the triple threat, although Melody didn't seem to need it. She seemed to be overlooking the opponent, considering him nothing more than a nuisance, the odd man out in what should be a one on one match between her and O'Brian. The first four minutes of the match probably lead her to a change of heart as she got a taste of Dean's heavy strikes. The former Invictus champion lifted Mel in the air and dropped her onto his knees for a suplex lift into a double knee gutbuster to obtain a count of two. The course of the match swung back in Lennox' favor when, after one of her acrobatic evasion, she was able to connect the Common Sense scorpion kick, leaving Dean dazed. Lennox scored a couple of near falls in rapid succession with the Off-Key Symphony (yoshi tonic) and a diving crossbody, but keeping down Dean wasn't that easy. The big guy survived the Downbeat as well, somehow kicking out from Mel's sophisticated pinning predicament. Despite the close calls and the damage taken, Smith was still alive and kicking, shoving Lennox in the corner with his Down With The Door. He followed with a running uppercut and delivered some more punches to Mel in the corner, leaving her dazed while he climbed to the top rope and sealed the deal with his patented Mean Dean diving knee strike. WINNER: Dean Smith BY: Pinfall (Mean Dean), 11:36 |
Beat The Clock Match
Whoever scores the best time gets to pick the stipulation at Zeitgeist
Haylie LaFleur VS Rhett AdelsonWhoever scores the best time gets to pick the stipulation at Zeitgeist
To quote Rhett Adelson... "Well, this is awkward". For those who don't know, Haylie is currently in a relationship with Rhett's brother Rhys, but that didn't mean the former Tag Team champion was going easy on her. He used his size and power advantage to whip the Formulaic into the corner and squash her with a stinger splash, climbing to the top rope for an aerial assault. Haylie reached him on top and caught his head between her legs for a top rope hurricanrana. Rhett was able to stop her momentum and adjusted her position, seemingly ready to connect a powerbomb from the third rope. A slight hesitation then he jumped, driving Haylie on the mat with such force that the whole ring was shaken. Incredibly, the blonde girl was able to kick out. It was an uphill battle for LaFleur, that huge powerbomb left her with a sore back that limited her movement. This forced her to change her approach and cut back on the flips and aerial maneuvers. She still hit her patented 360 discus codebreaker but the landing on her back seemed to aggravate the situation, costing her precious seconds that made it easier for Rhett to kick out in two. Time passed, and that wasn't good news for Haylie at all. Even worse was the fact that Rhett was back in control and seemed ready to go for the killing shot, going for his mentor's finishing maneuver, the Nightfall Splash made famous by Chris Night. But he found nobody home, crashing on the canvas and eating a shining wizard from LaFleur who then followed with her Imploding Senton for the count of three. WINNER: Haylie LaFLeur BY: Pinfall (LaFleurian), 15:54 |
Singles Match
Whoever scores the best time gets to pick the stipulation at Zeitgeist
Andrew Raynes VS OllyWhoever scores the best time gets to pick the stipulation at Zeitgeist
Beating the 15 minutes 54 seconds record set by Haylie didn't seem like an impossible feat for Raynes. A few weeks ago, at Anarchy In The UK, it took him a little over 11 minutes to beat Olly, so you could understand his confidence walking into this contest. In fairness, Olly was on his second match that weekend, having competed in the triple threat tag match on night one, carrying the wounds of Violet Eldon's attack into his bout against Raynes. The first exchange saw Raynes getting the upper hand until Olly killed his momentum with a headbutt and body slammed him on the canvas. A few stomps later, the 2 time tag champion grabbed the top rope and tried to choke Andrew with his boot, getting a first warning from the ref. After Raynes obtained a two count a little over the seven minutes mark with his Code Of The Sith, the match took an odd turn. Olly started taking frequent trips on the outside with the clear intent of wasting time and getting on Reign's nerves. And his plan worked perfectly. Andrew left the ring and started chasing Olly outside, only for the former student to slide back inside the ring and leaving it quickly on the opposite side. This scene repeated a couple of times until, all of a sudden, Olly pumped his breaks and leveled Raynes with a clothesline. He kept the fight outside the ring, quickly sliding under the bottom rope every now and then to interrupt the count and buy himself more time to inflict his punishment to the Riot champion. Eventually Andrew caught his break and was able to bring Olly back in the ring but the Academy graduate quickly turned the tides. He kept a slow pace and never once tried to pin the opponent, confirming that he just wanted to make him fail in the beat the clock challenge. And when the buzzer sounded, signaling that the time was up, Olly kicked Raynes in the groin and put him down with the Born 2 Lose, leaving the Riot champion on the floor as he left the ring with a big smile on his face. WINNER: Draw BY: Time Limit, 15:55 |
The main event has ended and the time to beat has run out, the late assault clearly having taken its toll on Raynes and adding up to his frustration. He slowly got back to his feet, still breathing heavy, he grabs hold of his belt expecting something nefarious to occur as the Division was prone to do, but instead the sound of “Beautiful Creature” by Miia begins to play, the Italian crowd goes wild as Haylie Lafluer otherwise known as the “formulaic” makes her way through the curtain, she smiles brightly giving quite a pose at the top of the stage though she already had a microphone in her hand, she pauses to let the fans get a grasp of what is going on, her outfit seemingly changed after her match earlier in the night to an old world Roman toga with a sexy flare a two piece, lace number of white with gold trim, a caplet flowing from the waste area and two golden leaves draped into her hair, the Bostonian accent she displayed a clear counter thesis to her demeanor
In that moment.
Haylie LaFleur:
Mr. Raynes, that was quite a showcase you just featured, I am thoroughly impressed with your body of work. Not only as the longest reigning Riot Champion, but a clearly supreme athletic being in your own right.
She seemed to pause momentarily knowing his favor with the audience that some would agree and disagree with her on that regard but she let the crowd express their thoughts before raising the mic back to her lips.
Haylie LaFluer:
I know that many have tried and failed to take the belt you’re holding and I am certain that I can just as easily become victim to your capabilities. Especially when it is against someone of your caliber. This is not me attempting to butter you up instead this is merely myself stating facts. Your record, your statistics, your capabilities they all speak for themselves.
The camera flips between Haylie to Raynes a few times over and over again, prior to him nodding his head. Perhaps wondering just where Haylie was going with this dialogue much like everyone else in the building.
Haylie LaFluer:
Some might say it’s by luck that I earned this opportunity to face you, I didn’t beat anyone in order to earn contendership, however, much like others in the match I did put my career on the line just to have this opportunity. I took my chances, I didn’t jump ahead of anyone, I instead showed my conviction and earned this opportunity to rise and face for a title I very much admire.
She pauses yet again to carry onward.
Haylie LaFluer:
However, not only did luck favor me in getting this opportunity, it also favored me in being able to now choose the stipulation for our match, once more some might say this was an unfair advantage dropped in my court and they would be right in some regard, while the proper chain of contention was not followed I proved tonight that I am capable of rising to the occasion, but I am no slouch, I am a veteran of this business and it is time I was given the opportunity to show just how good I am, and just how good the two of us can be when combating in that very ring.”
Haylie is seen pointing and Raynes now having caught his breath steps forward with the title on his shoulder, signaling with his hands for her to come on down whenever she was ready and Haylie merely laughed shaking her head.
Haylie LaFluer:
Now now, let’s not be steadfast and spoil what is to come at Zeitgeist, instead let us make the best damn showing possible for everyone to see. I merely stated these facts to say that while Luck has favored me thus far I think it is best to offer you just as equally of a playing field as myself, Not in one way, but in several. I’m a sucker for numbers and formulas it is obviously embellished in my name but Moreso I believe in the numbers, I believe in figures and facts and facts show that you have a pretty impressive percentage of defeating your opponents, especially when the title is on the line, this of course makes things difficult for someone like me. So when speaking to Mr. Moretti earlier this week I chose a stipulation in the case that I actually got to choose that I was planning to do during my tenure with High Roller Wrestling, a match I feel evens the odds on about every type of playing field available in this business.
She pauses knowing she has both the audience and those at home waiting on baited breath, but she smiles instead dropping the mic down from
Her lips to waist level while smiling vividly. Obviously the fans getting upset by the wait time, some of them even readily attempting to boo before Haylie lifted the microphone back to her lips.
Haylie LaFluer:
We call it the Lady Luck Match!
The crowd is unsure of how to react and even Raynes seems absolutely confused, not really sure what she is talking about but she smiles further.
Haylie LaFleur:
I’ll admit, the name is ominous and doesn’t exactly cover all the details but I always believe that while certain things are coherent and concise a lot of scientific means exist simply based on theory, you have your physics proprietaries simple based on theoretical properties and thus luck becomes and elevating factor, this match changes a lot of the rules and simply makes it where it is anyone's game regardless of how many times you won or lost in the contest. Since I won this match on the luck of a draw, we will continue to move forward with such a continuous equation of luck.
She paused momentarily licking her lips.
Haylie LaFluer:
Much like an iron man match there is a set time limit, one of us will attempt to win in the span of time limit and again much like the iron man we will tally up scores. From there we have our A’s and B’s in our proprietary equation, but how do we make those two variables equal our sum of variable “C”, easy. We leave it up to luck. At the end of the match your total number of wins will equal the physical number of draws you get from the designated brief cases. Only the number of briefcases that equal the total number of Victories shared between us will equal the number of briefcases we get to choose from thus at the end one of us will be champion. However one by one I also get to draw from the table using one of my draws from
My Victories as well. Meaning the new champion will not only need to enhance their own number of probabilities in winning, but they must also have the luck of the draw in their hands. Whoever is the first to draw the championship case is the winner of the title.
The fans erupt after hearing her explanation, considering true stipulations to the match resemble something familiar but still completely different for MWE and the Riot Brand specifically.
Haylie LaFleur:
You may ask what would happen in the even that neither of us win anything, well the title would then be released from having a holder and become vacant, much like any gamble you have the risk of losing it all with absolutely no reward.
The fans are even more ecstatic while Raynes simply seems to be absorbing all of the information she is giving him.
Haylie LaFluer:
Along with this time limit and points total there will be a myriad of fun House items available to increase our odds of winning, your standard tables, ladders, chairs, and hardcore capabilities. However there will be more available as well including a few specialized items for the crowd.
Haylie offered a little “ooh” sound that received a decent pop.
Haylie LaFleur:
I realize this is a lot to take in, but this is my chance to have the best shot possible at that title that I can, even if I defeat you multiple times though or you beat me, it’s all in the hands of fate just who will be leaving with that glorious strap. I respect you as champion, but I am here to prove just what it is I am made of as well and now you are being given just as much a chance to influence your odds as I am. With that Mr. Raynes I offer you the best of luck. May we both find the formulas tipped in our favor or at the most, have Lady Luck on our side. I must admit . . . It’s going to be a riot!
With that Haylie offers a wink to the camera blowing a kiss goodbye as she waves off to the Italian audience and turns to head backstage.
