Millennium CXVIII Live from Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden Wednesday, April 19th, 2023
Gabriel Landry has found something to do now that he isn’t in the main event of Millennium, this was filmed a few hours ago when the sun was still out. The Lockdown Champion is standing Stockholm Old Town. The people walking by mind their own business go about their day no caring there is a young man holding a professional wrestling championship.
Gabriel Landry: Are we good to go?
He gets the ok from the cameraman to continue.
Gabriel Landry: Didn’t see that coming. Never seen Elsa that angry before. If she laid down the law with me the same way she lays down the law with The Division... oh wait. The Division is still running MWE, guess it’s easier to take out your frustrations on a nice guy? I don’t want this to become an Anti Elsa video. Despite our tiff on social media, I am quite fond of her. She is a hard working person. Being a general manager I imagine she has a lot to put up with, between Karen. The Division. Numerous other people who wish to be whiners and complainers, I don’t envy the position she is in. Just because I am a nice guy doesn’t mean I am going to smile at everything that happens.
Gabriel takes a deep breath. A lot is on his mind. He wants to make sure he gets everything off his chest.
Gabriel Landry: Case and point. I tried to break away from Karen, peacefully I might add. What did Elsa do? The very next show, she put me in a tag team match against my ex. Couldn’t have waited a couple more weeks for me to process my feelings about fighting a woman who I had been with for a year I might add. It was a good business decision... who cares about my feelings? Did I whine about that? Did I throw a tantrum? No. I showed up, I did my job, I was humiliated in the process. Oh, can’t forget I wanted my shot at Karen a lot sooner, you Elsa decided to give Bree the rematch without a second thought. Hey, I got the shot eventually, can’t complain about that. I didn’t. I smiled. I looked the other way. Me and Jasper got to have fun in a tag match for old time sakes.
This brings a smile to Gabriel’s face. His smile soon fades away knowing he has more to say.
Gabriel Landry: What really bugs me about tonight is your attempts to paint me as the bad guy. Am I really wrong for not wanting to team with a woman who flat out tweeted she doesn’t do tag matches, good luck? Can’t forget about her response to me the first time we teamed up. Remember what a disaster that was? She is the unprofessional one. And a horrible human being to boot. Yet I am throwing a fit over a tag match? Me, voicing my frustration over this equates to throwing a fit? This is the reason why guys don’t feel comfortable expressing their feelings. We say anything off the cuff it’s throwing a fit or being unprofessional or being painted in a negative light. Now the great fans of Sweden are going to think I abandoned them. Which I didn’t. I offered to put my championship on the line. Somehow that wasn’t good enough. I did everything I could to make this right. You decide I am the one you want to make an example of?
Gabriel shrugs his shoulders.
Gabriel Landry: Fine. Have it your way. I won’t show up to the venue. There are plenty of things to do in Stockholm. I won’t let this experience go to waste. Hope you're happy. I would have gladly put the Lockdown Championship on the line, remember that, I offered a solution. We’re done, cut the feed.
Gabriel walks off having gotten everything off his chest.
Singles Match
Dean Smith VS Kate Steele
- Dean Smith, who was revealed to be the winner of the Intercontinental championship shot at Anarchy In The UK by the commentary team, wasted no time and attacked Kate as soon as the bell sounded, leveling the former Lockdown champion with a clothesline. He stayed on top of the opponent with a quick series of punches to the abdomen that forced Kate back against the corner. He continued the onslaught there with a flurry of uppercuts, stopping only when the referee physically separated him from the opponent, giving Kate a much needed break.
- The truce was only temporary. In a matter of mere moments Dean was once again all over Steele, lifting her in the air with a stalling suplex. The former Invictus champion took his sweet time with it, holding Kate upside down for several seconds and flexing for the fans by pacing the ring and doing a couple of squats before finally falling back and completing the throw. He then moved on top of her for a somewhat cocky pinning predicament without even hooking her leg. Kate got her shoulder up moments before the three, avoiding what would have been an embarrassing defeat without even landing a single strike.
- Finally the Swedish fans got to see some offense from the Siren, breaking what had been so far a one way match, dominated by Smith. She jumped off the top rope and sent him to the outside with a hurricanrana. She then dove onto him right in front of the commentary table.quickly running back in to do the same thing a second time. Not without effort, she managed to push Dean back into the ring and blast him with a shining wizard. She hooked the leg and made the cover, but Smith kicked out in two with ease.
- And that was pretty much all we got to see on Kate’s side. Excluding a brief comeback a couple of minutes later, it was all Dean staying in control until the inevitable end. The powerhouse delivered one of his best performances to date, proof that he was taking this chance very seriously. With how easily he disposed of Kate tonight, he also sent a clear message to the IC champion Sophie O’Brian. Quarterbark, spinning backfist and the MD diving knee strike was the combination that gave him the victory.
WINNER: Dean Smith BY: Pinfall (MD), 6:03/div] |
Electricity by Blood Stained Child starts playing throughout the arena, and Selena slowly makes her way out liming walking on crutches as the crowd quickly goes from cheering to silence in concern from seeing Selena on crutches.
Amy Maynard: I thought Selena said she was just banged up! Could there be something more serious wrong with her since she is leaning on crutches to walk?!
Sir Figgles: Boo hoo she knew the risk walking into the match, so if she is injured then she should’ve know that could have happened.
Selena smiles faintly at the crowd as she slowly walks her way down to the ring, placing the crutches under the bottom rope, and sliding under the ropes grabbing the crutches, and standing up leaning on them again as a ring attendant brings her a microphone.
Selena Lyre : Anarchy in the UK was supposed to be perfect! It was supposed to be myself, and Gabriel one on one no interferences, just two best friends in a match that they both love, and at the end of the night I was supposed to be your new Lockdown Champion, but it didn’t work out the way I had planned sadly. At first I was so devastated I felt like I let Mr.X down, he had so much faith in me, and even the fans who support me I felt I let them down, but after a few nights of collecting my thoughts I have came to realize that it’s not my fault it’s the Eldons, it’s not my fault, it's the Division’s. This company has a problem with numbers, and cheating, and I guess that’s fine right? Do what you gotta do to make it to the top, but I will not allow myself to be made a fool again, and so I ask what’s next?
Selena looks down at her crutches.
Selena Lyre : As you can see I am not cleared to compete tonight nor am I schedules, and don’t worry about me, I am not injured, just banged up still and need some support to lean up, but by next week I will be ready to compete! As for tonight? I have asked myself what Mr.X meanted by I need to use my anger to push me forward? I still haven't found the answer which brings another question to mind.
Selena slowly turns to face the stage, and ramp area.
Selena Lyre : Mr.X You mentioned that you had a gift for me? Yet I have not seen you all night, and I know your not one to lie to me!.
The lights shut off, and the words Who is Mr.X shows up on the titantron before they fade away with new letters appearing saying I am the Alpha, and The Omega. A dark light room then shows on the titantron with a dim light emanating from it as Mr.X walks into view.
Mr.X : My dearest Selena, you have never once let me down, in fact you have made me a proud mentor, and you have a bright future ahead of you, but in order for that to happen, and due to recent events? It’s imperative I go away for a few weeks, but rest assured that I will leave you with comfort you will never be alone.
Mr.X turns around looking away from the camera as he removes his mask as the scene comes to an end before it shows his face as the lights in the arena came back on.
Selena Lyre : Mr.X! You can’t leave me! What kind of gift is that huh?! You said you would never abandon me until I am ready to soar on my own so what is this?
Selena’s eyes fill with tears from confusion and pain.
Selena Lyre : Dammit!
Ruby Red, and Snow White by Blackbriar starts playing throughout the arena as a unfamiliar Red haired, and White haired girl step throughout the arena grabbing each others hands, and dancing with each other before pulling each other close turning to face the ring staring at Selena who now has a look of shock on her face with her mouth wide open, as the two girls then break from their embrace, and walk down the ramp slowly with a smile never leaving their faces as they reach the ring walking up the stairs grabbing microphones and getting inside the ring.
Red Haired Girl : Selena! How the fuck have you been!
The white haired girl shakes her head at the red haired girl.
White Haired Girl : Must you always leave such an impulsive first impression Ashley? Can’t you for once speak with a decent tongue, I swear.
The red haired girl looks at the white haired girl, and raises a brow.
Red Haired Girl : What the fuck do you mean my tongue is impulsive huh? I will talk how I want, and when I want, do you understand me Caitlyn?!
Selena lets out a small chuckle.
Selena Lyre : Allow me to introduce these two to you guys, The white haired well mannered one is Caitlyn Sage, and the red haired rude one is Ashley Layeth, they are both fellow students of Mr.X Now that the introductions are over with? What are you two doing here? I thought you wasn't ready yet.
Caitlyn Sage : Selena how I have missed you so, but truth be told we have been ready, we have just been waiting for Mr.X to give us the call, and it seems now is the time he has deemed worthy, so weep not at this short absence, but trust in the grand scheme of things.
Ashley Layeth : Damn right! Mr.X always has a plan, and will never let us down, now I can't wait to get in the ring and see how loud members of Millennium can scream for me!
Selena Lyre : Ehhhh?!!! Let's get to the back, and discuss things before Ashley further embarrasses us,
Ashley Layeth : Aww, is someone's feelings weaker then their body?
Ashley playful kicks at Selena’s legs causing Selena to wince in pain, as Caitlyn grabs Ashley and whispers in her ear causing her to calm down, as they both sit on the bottom rope allowing selena to get out of the ring, and the three of them make their way to the back.
Hardcore Match
Till Schlotterbeck VS Devon Slayton
- Turns out, the prize Devon won in the Anarchy In The UK match was a shot at Ahalya Patel’s Chicago Way championship. And what better way for the Black Savior to test himself in the hardcore division than facing one of the men who has been redefining violence in MWE? Till Schlotterbeck came up short in the Pu Brawl match, although his performance seemed to focus more on getting rid of Nate Krell rather than trying to take Ahalya’s title. And if we look at that as his goal, he appeared to be quite successful since the Anti-Trend’s name can now be found on the “Injured” list on the MWE website.
- Devon took control of the match right away with a series of headlocks and arm drags. An odd approach that seemed to frustrate Till more than it wore him down. And in his brief time here in MWE, the German taught us that it’s never a good idea to piss him off. With none of those pesky rules spoiling his fun, Schlotterbeck had no reason to hold back from biting Slayton’s hand to get out of his headlock and quickly level him with a discus clothesline. The Swedish fans absolutely loved it and they stretched their hands toward him when he left the ring looking for weapons. He exchanged some high fives with them and together they yelled out PROST! before the German parted ways with them and retrieved a steel chair from under the ring.
- Till pushed the chair under the bottom rope and entered the ring, but when he tried to pick up the weapon, he couldn’t do it. Devon had stepped onto the chair and was preventing him from grabbing hold of it, delivering a stiff kick to his face that sent the German down on his back. Devon ironically thanked him before lifting the steel chair and lowering it hard on Till’s torso, driving the top edge into his stomach. The German immediately folded in two and rolled on the canvas, offering his back to Devon’s attacks. Four times he swung the chair to Till’s back, but that wasn’t enough to keep the man down.
- The level of violence was destined to rise as more weapons came into play. Blood was almost a guaranteed consequence and nobody was truly surprised when it began flowing from Devon’s head after Till bashed it against the steel post. The German tried to suplex the opponent through the commentary table but Slayton, despite the bleeding, was able to counter it and it was Schlotterbeck who got dropped on the hard concrete floor. Slayton found a kendo cane lying around and used it to punish his opponent, leaving red bruises all over his body and forcing him to retreat back in the ring. Before following him there, Devon grabbed a table and pushed it under the bottom rope.
- Knife edge chop after knife edge chop, Till was able to turn the tables and got very close to the three with a swinging neckbreaker. He made the cover, but only got a two out of it. Turning his back to Devon to set up the table turned out to be a big mistake. Right after unfolding the table and placing it in the middle of the ring, Till turned around to a throat strike by the former MENTV champion who then lifted him with a suplex and drove him down on the table with a cutter. He made the cover after the Cromwell Invocation, but even he looked surprised when the ref counted to three. Nonetheless, he celebrated the victory in the middle of the ring. The ref raised his hand but immediately dropped it down to go checking on Till. Instantly he called for help and the team of paramedics rushed to the ring. Schlotterbeck never lost consciousness, but he was complaining which, given his well known resilience, was definitely something. They put a brace around his neck and rested him on a stretcher, carrying him backstage. The fans accompanied the injured star with a round of applause, he thanked and perhaps tried to reassure them by raising his thumb,
WINNER: Devon Slayton BY: Pinfall (Cromwell Invocation), 8:31 |
Annica Greene: Welllll tonight’s a nice change of pace, right? Got Erika kinda quiet but who blames her, and Clyde - that boy’s got MANNERS and that’s real rare. Especially considering the elephant in the room abouttttit, but we APPRECIATE YOU.
The camera pans back, showing the twins in more casual gear tonight, Gucci branded spandex in sherbet colors, all matching of course! They smile slyly at the camera in a synchronized way, before Aliyah steps forward slightly.
Aliyah Greene: Now some people think we don’t see what we see… that we don’t pay attention but we doooooo. Why do y’all think we roast Kimmie’s dumbass so hard on Twitter just to watch her ignore it because SHE WEAK AND FAKE CHAOS EAT A BAG OF SALTED… you know what, her lame ass ain’t worth it.
Aliyah scoffs loudly as Annica laughs, shaking her head before she adds a little stinger.
Annica Greene: Ah… but yeah Kimmie sucks.
Aliyah Greene: Karen? Also sucks, and we UNDERSTAND the level of trash she is capable of… y’all didn’t deserve that, aight? Just keep that in mind, we ain’t holdin’ either of you accountable for what she done. This is just a match, could give y’all some standing, could show how you roll. But we just gonna do what we do! That’s all it is, no hard feelin’s!
The pair no-look high five and swan out of the centered shot, presumably heading towards the ringside area.
Singles Match
RAZE VS Violet Eldon
- Violet Eldon took the spotlight at Anarchy In The UK by single-handedly taking on the Murder City Saints during their match against Clyde and Erika. RAZE had the chance to get his taste of revenge tonight, but that was an honor he was more than willing to share with his long time tag partner Wade Manson and the rest of the Division’s MWE contingent. Olly and Julian joined the duo in what can easily be defined as a punitive raid like the ones we saw against Duke Andrews and Andrew Raynes. Violet didn’t seem surprised as they surrounded her, moving her eyes from one Division member to the next, trying to read their movements so that she could counter them effectively.
- You’re used to seeing things like this in movies, but watching a person taking on four men simultaneously with such elegance and effectiveness was a sight to behold. For a while she managed to stay away from their attacks and hit them with acrobatic kicks and strikes, even without weapons- But eventually the numbers game caught up on her and she succumbed to the Division’s fierce revenge. Kicks and stomps kept raining down on her even when she was laying in the middle of the ring, unable to defend herself. Julian ordered them to stop and signaled RAZE to finish her off with the Atomic Bomb, which he obviously did. Before he could drop her, Clyde and Erika attempted to desperately save their cousin, but they found Julian Olly and Wade in their way, and they weren’t able to get past them and avoid Violet to get dropped down by RAZE.
- Clyde and Erika fought tooth and nail against the three members of the Division, four when RAZE joined them after disposing of Violet. And well, that didn’t end well for them, as you can imagine. Erika got hit by Olly’s Born To Lose, Clyde fell victim to Manson's Decapitator Kick. Both of them ate Julian’s Golden God Kick for their troubles. Will their match against the Greenes even happen?
WINNER: // BY: //, 0:00 |
Tag Team Match
Bad & Boujee VS Clyde Eldon Jr. & Erika Eldon
- As the Division scattered, having done their bad action for the night, the twins appeared and made their way to the ring trying to find out if their match was going to happen or not. Violet looked in a rough shape, helped on her feet by the medic personnel and escorted backstage. Clyde and Erika, although battered, bruised and concerned for their cousin, seemed ready and willing to go. Aaliyah and Annica seemed to appreciate the kids’ dedication and their determination, giving them a nod of approval. The Swedish fans followed with a heartfelt round of applause, and some of them even encouraged Clyde as he started the match against Aliyah.
- At first, Clyde was able to assert his dominance thanks to his superior strength, body-slamming the former tag champion and following with a legdrop. A few hard strikes helped him keep his momentum and earned him a first near fall but soon after that Aliyah hit him with a kick to the ribs, still sore from the Division’s attack and quickly made the tag to her sister. The twins blasted Clyde with some more strikes before taking him down with the sweep kick/roundhouse kick combination, exploiting the time they got to work together to its fullest.
- Annica took Clyde off his feet with a hurricanrana and followed with a dropkick to the corner. The former MWE tag champion climbed to the top rope to perform some kind of aerial attack but CEJ hit the ropes, causing her to lose balance. As Annica was sitting on the turnbuckle, he quickly climbed to the middle rope and picked her up, hitting a big superplex. Tag to his sister who attempted to make a pinfall after a springboard elbow drop, but it wasn’t enough to get the three.
- Even before what happened with the Division, people were expecting to see a pretty much one-sided match tonight. There was a big difference in terms of skill and experience between the two teams, and yet Clyde and Erika were giving Bad & Boujee a run for their money. The siblings seemed to have made drastic improvements in the past weeks, not only on a personal level but as a team too, improving their chemistry and coming up with some combined attacks that gave them a couple of near falls on the former champions. On top of that, they really put their heart into what they were doing, looking good despite the beatdown suffered before the match.
- Eventually, and inevitably, they weren’t able to keep the momentum going. The twins waited for their chance, almost playing damage control while letting their opponents wear themselves down. Then they started speeding up the pace, finding more room for their high-flying attacks as Clyde and Erika were no longer able to counter them. The end could’ve come with Aliyah’s Barbie Tingz, but Clyde was able to save his sister in that circumstance. He couldn’t do it again a couple of minutes later because Annica kicked him off the apron before lifting Erika on her shoulders and fell back with an electric chair drop. Aliyah completed the Electric Dreams with the double warrior stomp, picking up another win for the twins.
WINNER: Bad & Boujee BY: Pinfall (Electric Dreams), 10:15 |
Backstage the camera spots the wild haired and oh so charismatic individual known as Leviticus. The self-proclaimed Most Loved Man on the Planet is wearing a purple suit, orange silk shirt, and black shoes. A smirk is on his face as he stares deep into the camera. Standing to his right is Summer Collins and to his left is Jessica Lasiewicz, the reigning MWE World Tag Team Champions known as Fabulous.
Leviticus: Ladies and gentlemen it is I…The Most Loved Man On The Planet, The Emperor of Entrepreneurship, Captain Capitalism, Master Media Mogul, Saint Levi, Your Righteous Savior, The Titan of Twitter, The Sultan of Social Media, The Nova Wonder Killer, The Maharaja of Marketing, The Franciscan Friar of Flash…I am LEVITICUS! And I am the manager of the former GCW Global Tag Team Champion, three time former GCW World Tag Team Champion, former Undisputed GCW Tag Team Champion, and the reigning and defending two time MWE World Tag Team Champions, Summer Collins and “The Archangel” Jessica Lasiewicz, you know them better as…FABULOUS!
Lasiewicz rolls her eyes at Levi’s flamboyant, over the top introduction. Summer, who is a little more arrogant than her friend, soaks it in and even takes a bow.
Leviticus: Tonight is a showdown for the ages, Summer Collins will be taking on none other than a lucky lady who survived what can only be described as pure and utter anarchy to walk away with a guaranteed tag team title opportunity.
Captain Capitalism turns to face Summer.
Leviticus: The floor is yours, Summer!
Summer Collins: Thank you, Levi. Now it seems as if ever since me and Jess won back these MWE World Tag Team Championships, everyone is lining up for an opportunity. Bad and Boujee tried to take them back and they failed. Twice. Walker and Jasper King cashed in an opportunity and came up short. Now we have Matt Stone and his girl wanting a piece of Fabulous and of course there’s Tiana and Trinity. But we weren’t your first choice, were we? I’m sure you were hoping for that elusive and coveted world title match?
Collins shrugs her shoulders.
Summer Collins: It’s ok, we get it. Who wouldn’t want to be the world champion? But Jess and I take this tag team division very seriously. We take tag team wrestling VERY seriously. Tag team wrestling is the one thing that we do better than anyone else in this damn company. So you had better get those thoughts of disappointments and ideas of this being just a consolation prize out of your head. You need to recognize that in order to take these titles away from us you will have to beat us at our best. You will have to beat one of the very best tag teams in this business today. And tonight you get a little sample of things to come. Me and Jess have fought too long and too hard to regain these titles just to lose them to you…to PCP…or to anyone else, for that matter. And tonight you are going to learn just how hard we are willing to fight in order to keep these championships.
Singles Match
Summer Collins (w/Jessica Lasiewicz) VS Tiana Petrova-Hammond (w/ Trinity Thompson)
- The three teams who will battle for the Tag Titles at Zeitgeist keep crossing paths in this match pitting one half of the tag team champion Fabulous against Tiana Petrova-Hammond who won the shot at the tag gold in her Anarchy In The UK match. They were both accompanied by their respective partners Jessica Lasiewicz and Trinity Thompson. The former Academy Student walked to her “almost family” and offered her a handshake with the promise that she will only offer moral support to her girlfriend and wouldn’t interfere in any way. Lasiewicz seemed hesitant at first but eventually reached out and shook Trinity’s hand, promising the same. The fans appreciated the deal the two of them made to ensure the match would go on without shenanigans.
- Tiana and Summer started the match with the classic collar and elbow tie, each of them trying to get that early lead. After going back and forth with some holds and jockeying for position, it was Tiana who came out on top, twisting Summer’s arm in a wristlock. The veteran tried to get out of it, rolling on the floor and managing to counter the hold. Tiana, although she definitely possessed the skills to get out of a wristlock, opted for a different approach, kicking Collins’ leg off and causing the tag champion to fall flat on her back. The Russian-American grabbed her by the foot but before she could actually apply whatever submission she was thinking of, Collins brought both her feet to her chest and pushed her away.
- Going for a submission this early didn’t pay off so Tiana changed approach, focusing on her striking ability to keep the lead. Knees and punches found their mark but when the first ever Gold Star went for a roundhouse kick, Summer was able to evade it and take her down with a backbreaker followed by a springboard moonsault, but Petrova-Hammond kicked out at two. Summer waited for Tiana to get up and threw a few kicks at her, one of which got blocked by the Russian-American who then lifted Collins for a shin breaker, transitioning right into a leg lock, once again giving proof of her technical prowess. Summer started to crawl toward the ropes, eventually managing to reach them and forcing the break up..
- A victory tonight, after Jessica’s win over matt Stone on the last Riot in France, would send a huge message to the challengers, and Collins was determined to keep the team’s momentum going and wanted to do so by beating Tiana at her own game. After taking the Academy graduate down with the Summer’s End slingblade, the tag team champion put the opponent in her Chapter Seven (crippler crossface) right in the middle of the ring. Tiana had nowhere left to go, the ropes looked so far away and impossible to reach in time. Her sharp technical skills, honed in years of MMA training, allowed her to escape the submission, although it didn’t come without paying a price. Her right arm was particularly sore, resting limp across her body pretty much useless.
- Despite the bad arm, Tiana didn’t give up the fight. She struggles, sure, barely kicking out of Summer’s full nelson suplex but eventually she found the opening to make her comeback, using devastating kicking combinations. Using her left arm to set Summer up for a hammerlock DDT resulted in a less smooth but equally effective maneuver, earning the Academy graduate another count of two. More knees and kicks followed, leading up to the Gold Star Standard, Tiana’s patented superkick that gave the young wrestler a big win against one half of the tag team champions.
WINNER: Tiana Petrova-Hammond BY: Pinfall (Gold Star Standard), 10:08 |
We open to the backstage area where we find interviewer Camille Bellamy. Standing next to her is “The Dragon” Angelica Jones. The Boston native is wearing a knee length black pencil skirt, a women’s black blazer, and a white silk blouse. She is perched atop black patent leather high heel pumps and she has sunglasses over her eyes.
Camille Bellamy: Ladies and gentlemen my guest at this time came up a little short at Anarchy in the UK but has a chance to rebound in a big way against a former MWE World Champion and current Global Champion in Hybrid, Duke Andrews. My guest is “The Dragon” Angelica Jones! Thank you for joining me, Angelica.
Angelica Jones: My pleasure, Camille.
Camille Bellamy: First question is, how are you feeling after Anarchy in the UK?
The Dragon chuckles softly.
Angelica Jones: I am feeling great. You know, there is something about a good old fashioned pub brawl that not only gets the juices flowing but also reminds you deep down inside just how sick and twisted you can be, just how rotten to the core you can be, and sometimes you have to be, in order to succeed. Did I win the Chicago Way title? No, I didn’t. Patel rose to the occasion and proved that she is not only a worthy champion but also will be a dominating champion for a long time to come. Unless, of course, my daughter Kim decides to chase after that title. But that’s up to Kim. As for me, what the pub brawl did was reminded me of exactly what I am capable of when I am pushed to the limits. See, Camille, I have had a great career. I retired once already and I could have stayed retired and been perfectly happy with what I accomplished but I chose to come out of retirement for one final run. Then the pub brawl happened and I see things differently. Before the pub brawl, this was a feel good nostalgia act for me. But now…
Jones takes off her sunglasses and tucks them inside her jacket. The camera can see the fierce intensity in her eyes.
Angelica Jones: …now I am deadly serious. I have been reminded of just how good I am and what I am capable of and I intend to use every tool in my deadly toolbox, every resource I have, and every skill I know in order to become more than just a feel good story in my one final run. I am going to win a championship before this final run is over. I am going to once again be a dominant champion before I retire for good. The pub brawl reminded me of what I can be, Camille. And now tonight against Duke Andrews is my chance to test myself against one of the very best to see just how close I am to being that Dragon I once was. I am not under any delusions that I this will be easy. Duke is a champion. But let’s see just how well I match up against a champion. Let’s see how close I am to being that Dragon once more. After this match is over I will see where I go from there, what I have to work on, how I need to improve. Because once I am back to one hundred percent, once The Dragon is back, I am going straight to the top.
Singles Match
Angelica Jones VS Duke Andrews
- A clash between two veterans, Duke’s strength against the Golden Goddess’ speed. The match began with a slow feeling-out process as both competitors were locked in headlocks. Duke used his strength advantage and pushed Angelica into the ropes. Jones bounced back and swung her leg for a high kick that Andrews luckily ducked. He quickly wrapped his arms around Jones’ waist and lifted her with a German Suplex, dropping her on her neck. He wasted no time and picked her back up, lifting her for a vertical suplex. Jones managed to evade the attempt, landing behind the former World Champion’s back and connecting a quick backstabber. She then hooked the leg for a cover but Andrews kicked out in one.
- Angelica picked up Duke and shot him into the ropes. The Epitome Of Perfection reversed the move and it was Jones who was sent for a run. She ducked Duke’s clothesline attempt and rebounded from the opposite side, delivering a forearm smash to Andrews’ jaw. The man stumbled back but didn’t fall, not until Jones delivered a dropkick that sent him reeling to the floor. The Firestarer invited him back inside the ring, but Duke refused and suckered her to the floor. He then hit her with a rolling elbow followed by a kick to the small of the back, and a series of chops. The referee’s count had reached six and Duke decided to take the match back in the ring, not before slamming Angelica head-first into the ring post.
- The two began trading strikes in the middle of the ring. Angelica held her own against the natural born brawler and even managed to force him down to one knee: But when she charged and tried to hit him, Duke dropped her down with a sidewalk slam. He ruthlessly stomped on her elbow. Jones rolled on the canvas in pain and was quickly dragged up to her feet by Duke who then twisted her arm and drove it down on his shoulder. He kept working on that injured elbow with a falling armbreaker, transitioning into an armbar. The Firestarter was able to switch her position and pin his shoulder to the mat, forcing him to release the hold.
- Duke’s first attempt at the Andrews Effect didn’t work well for the former World champion as Angelica started punching his head and eventually spiked him with a reverse rana. The Firestarter then came flying with a moonsault, crashing on top of Andrews and getting a count of two. She only got a two out of it, but being the Stubborn Bitch (that’s the name of her patented shining wizard she blasted Andrews with) she was, she kept pushing and scored another one with her Divine Impact (lionsault).
- Andrews is one tough SOB, and he proved it again tonight in Stockholm as he forced his way out of the Firestarter’s Firestarter (crossface chickenwing). Having worked so painstakingly on Jones’ elbow paid dividends, making it easier for him to break the submission. He followed with his classic Red White & Blue combo, knocking Angelica down and delivering a knee drop to her head. He cockily motioned that he was going to end this with another Andrews effect but as he was waiting for her to get up, “Black Honey” by Thrice blasted through the PA system. Duke turned his attention to the entrance stage, waiting to see Julian Savell make his appearance, but the World champion never came out. The distraction still cost Andrews the match, as Angelica kicked him in the stomach and dropped him on his face with her Hot Shot, obtaining a massive win.
WINNER: Angelica Jones BY: Pinfall (Hot Shot), 13:26 |
Standing in his wrestling ring in his home gym is the number one contender for the MWE Championship, Chris Sanderson. Obviously, not being booked on the show, he decided to remain stateside. He leans against the ropes with a small smile on his face. Chris Sanderson:I told everyone I’d be leaving Anarchy in the UK as the winner and top contender. People can take all the issue they have with how I did it and throw it away. I’ve said for months now that I will win by any means to get to where I need to. I’ve shown it here, Liberty, and anywhere else I step into that ring. A quick pause from the two-time MWE World Champion. Chris Sanderson:And the man who holds the championship has that exact same mindset. Any means necessary to walk out victorious. I can’t fault Savell for it. Served him well for a long time, as long as I’ve paid attention to his career. The more I think about it, the more his style is something that my old man would’ve appreciated. Doesn’t care about anyone’s feelings. Just does what he does and lives his life free. Sanderson paces around his ring but keeps his eyes on the camera. Chris Sanderson:A few years ago, I’d be like so many other people who wanted to see the downfall of Julian Savell. The brash loudmouth who lets nothing stand in his way. Now? I don’t see a single problem with it. Four years ago, I’d be wanting your blood, Savell. Today? I just want that championship. Title motion. Chris Sanderson:Everyone here should want that title, and if they don’t, what are they even bothering with? You’re the guy on the top of the mountain. Beat that whiny piss ant Faith at Anarchy in the UK. So I congratulate you on that defense, Savell. Well done. You did what had to be done. Just like when we get into that ring together, I’ll do what has to be done. I will do whatever it takes and you’re going to do the same. We’re going to bend and break the rules. The people will hate us for it, but you know something? The small smile returns to his face. Chris Sanderson:Their approval means nothing when I’m looking to create history when I get your shoulders to that mat for three seconds. I get that championship handed to me and the ring announcer will say the first… FIRST! Three-time MWE World Champion. Then its off to take the Liberty Pro Championship. Now a laugh follows. Chris Sanderson:And I can’t wait to throw it in the face of every single person who said I can’t wrestle, I’m a bitch, I’m going to retire if I lose again. Their legacies are nothing compared to what I’ve done in the last near 11 years. I can’t wait to get into that ring with you, Savell. May the better wrestler win. And cut.
Singles Match
Bey Addams VS Trinity Thompson
- If we are being completely honest, Bey didn’t look too pleased about fighting Trinity. She left for Stockholm thinking she would be fighting the Cloud Gate champion, although in a tag match, and now found herself competing in a random match against an opponent Elsa literally found a couple of hours before the show aired. On the bright side, the former XIX World champion and Academy year one graduate Trinity Thompson was surely a good challenge for Addams, an important test on her way to the Cloud Gate. Bey wasn’t impressed though, even less when she quickly and easily took Thompson off her feet with a headlock takedown. She kept the hold on the mat, grounding the high flier who, eventually, made it back to her feet. Only momentarily, as another headlock takedown took her back to square one.
- Trinity showed some ring rust in the opening moments, understandable after over a month without getting in the ring. Bey had it easy to keep her grounded, locked in a web of submissions. Addams truly showed tonight that the teachings and legacy of her older brother, the late Tapp, were in good hands. She had now her legs wrapped around Trinity’s neck, trying to squeeze the life out of her. Thompson looked for a way out but Bey wasn’t leaving her any time to maneuver. To make it even worse, the Academy dropout increased the pressure, really putting Trin in a rough spot. Finally the Nap Town girl was able to reach the bottom rope with her foot forcing the break. Addams fully used the five count to further wear her out before, reluctantly, letting go.
- As minutes passed Trinity finally started to find her footing, using her speed and agility to keep out of Addams’ grasp. The first noteworthy spot, one that gave Thompson her first near fall, was a spectacular corner shiranui, from which Bey kicked out in two. Before the North Carolina native could get up to her feet, Trin blasted her with a shining wizard to the back of the head and immediately doubled down with a springboard moonsault. Bey was quick to get her knees up and block Trinity’s attempt, quickly rolling her up while she was still holding her ribs in pain. But despite the handful of thighs she grabbed, Thompson still managed to kick out in two and half.
- As minutes went by, the match kept growing in intensity and spectacularity. It was a classic clash of different styles, on one side we had Trinity with her fast paced offense and quick, acrobatic attacks. On the other was Bey, better versed in the technical aspects and favoring a slower rhythm. Addams started once again building momentum, but her German suplex attempt saw Trinity landing on her feet behind her back and catching her with the Knee-Jerk (running knee strike) as soon as she turned around. The high-impact knee strike caught Bey right in the face and knocked her down, allowing Trinity to make another cover that resulted in yet another two count.
- Trinity was constantly on the offense, trying to bring this one home. Bey, on the other hand, was defending herself without taking any major risk, looking for the opportunity to turn things around once again. An eye poke left Trinity momentarily blind and Addams took the opportunity to attack her with a combination of strikes. After leaving Thompson bent over with a knee to the guts, Bey followed with her patented scissors kick and rushed to make the cover, only getting a two count. Addams then waited for the opponent to get up, ready to hit her with the Wristlock Hero. That was when “Can You Feel My Heart (remix)” blared out of the loudspeakers, signaling the arrival of the self-proclaimed GOAT, Captain Cloud Gate herself Addison McKinley. From the entrance stage, she said something to her next opponent, but the volume of her theme song made it impossible to understand her words. Bey rolled her eyes and turned around, finding Trinity already back on her feet. The distraction was fatal for the Cloud Gate contender as Trinity took her down to her knees with a kick to the leg. What came after was something the MWE fans hadn’t seen in a while, the combination of five shoot kicks to the chest followed by a superkick known as Nap Kick. Thompson hooked the leg and pinned the Academy dropout for the three count, but she didn’t seem too happy with how the match ended. And Bey, you can bet, will be even less pleased.

Backstage we find Bree Smith currently wearing her red Bree Rage t-shirt with Bree drawn like a looney tune character raging along with some black wrestling tights on not a happy cat.
Bree Smith: I still can’t ‘breelieve’ I have to defend my title shot against Karen. I didn’t see her out there in the chaos…anarchy, and fending for herself for it. Considering my history with it, I’m not handing it over to her like some early wedding gift. I already got her a broken scale that adds 80 lbs just in case.
Bree, at the moment can be seen casually talking to her sister visiting Millennium’s tour as Mimi Smith sits on a crate listening to Bree. Mimi is dressed in a pair of faded dark lime green pants with a black sleeveless top and a white and black flannel shirt on top along with a ski hat she’d picked up in the local area.
Mimi Smith: I know. We both got title shots as well.
As Mimi just so happens to show off her briefcase, albeit from another company decorated with NVR stickers. A prominent one reading Sky’s Pumpkin Spice.
Mimi Smith: So you just have to work hard to keep yours. Lock it down.
As the Smith sisters are enjoying a bonding moment it is quickly ruined as around the corner still not yet dressed to compete is Karen Eldon. A scowl coming across her face as she looks at her long time rival Bree, then looking over at her sister.
Karen Eldon: Well, well, well. If it isn’t the least talented family in the world. I just really hope you didn’t bring…what’s your name…something annoying I am sure…
Before letting Mimi talk, Karen interjects going back into talking while pointing at Mimi.
Karen Eldon: This one along…because you thought this would be a happy night. It’s not going to be. I took this match because I KNOW. I can beat you Bree. I mean…I did it twice to win the Lockdown title and again defending it. So it only feels right that tonight, I take this match. And take away your title shot. Because if one thing is certain in life, I’ll always come out on top against you.
Mimi Smith: Why you lit-
Mimi says before Bree puts a hand on her sister's shoulder.
Bree Smith: You. Cheated. Twice.
Bree says with a stern pause between words as she walks up to Karen.
Bree Smith: You know I'm stronger than you. You know deep down in your cold, cold, heart you can't beat me legit. One on one. So you resort to anything to close the gap between your talents and mine. Tonight though.
Bree says getting a little closer to Karen and burns a look through her.
Bree Smith: I'm not letting you take away what I worked for. I'm putting you away quickly.
Karen shakes her head laughing as she pulls out some sort of envelope out of her purse she had over her shoulder.
Karen Eldon: Your title shot is gone after tonight. Oh and this is a letter about my wedding, sending out notices to all those that are not invited, take this on behalf of your entire loser family.
Karen throws it at Bree, Mimi tries to push forward but Bree holds her back knowing she’ll get her hands on Karen later tonight. Karen exits, seeming likely over confident heading into their match tonight.
The Swedish fans were in full song as the show went on, chanting for their favourites in their native language in what resembled more of a rowdy football crowd than for a wrestling show. Some fans were even letting off blue and yellow flares in the audience. The cheers and roars echoed on as the camera panned across the audience, the footage being displayed on the big screen to the delight of the fans, followed by a short advertisement for the main event of the evening, pitting the most disliked Karen Eldon against Lockdown contender, Bree Smith. As the footage rolled on, it was suddenly cut away to a figure at the west side of the stage, in one of the most unusual sights in recent MWE history…
As the camera zoomed in, there was a masculine figure wearing a flat cap, seemingly building a flat pack shed! As the camera zoomed in, the fans in attendance let out a roar of approval, seeing the man wearing an AIK football shirt, the biggest team based in Stockholm. They mopped their brow, taking a sip from a can of Sweden’s own Falcon lager, before eating meatballs soaked in gravy with a wooden fork from a plastic tray. The man turned, still eating his meatballs as he stared out into the crowd, lifting his flat cap up as he surveyed the audience.
It was Jackie Fowler.
The loud mouthed Brit nodded to the fans, before turning back to his newly built shed, gazing at his handiwork. He then picked up a hammer, some nails and a sign, hammering it into place before pacing off and into the darkness. It was one of the more stranger sights seen on MWE television over the past year, and as the camera focused in on the sign, it read the following:
“Är du uppmärksam?”
Singles Match If Karen wins, she gets Bree's Lockdown Championship title shot Karen Eldon VS Bree Smith
- What did Bree do wrong to end up in this situation? The answer is absolutely nothing. For all week the Breebarian prepared herself for a tag match against Addi and Gabriel in what was labeled as a “Champions versus Contenders” match. A prestigious bout, surely. But one where the stakes weren’t as high as in this one where the title shot she won at Anarchy In The UK was on the line, against none other than the same Karen Eldon who screwed her out of the Lockdown championship once. The pressure was all on Smith tonight, as the blonde powerhouse had everything to lose in a match she couldn’t even prepare for.
- But Bree didn’t let this go through her head, channeling all that pressure the right way and taking it out on the opponent. She pummeled at Karen with heavy strikes to the face, forcing her back into the ropes. With an Irish whip she then sent Eldon bouncing on the opposite side of the ring and as she took a few steps toward the center where she waited for the opponent to come back so that she could hit her with a massive polish hammer that knocked down the two time tag team champion
- The usually fun loving Bree was nowhere to be seen tonight. She didn’t take time to entertain the fans, nor did she indulge in her usual demonstrations of strength. She was 100% focused on destroying her opponent, giving her no break as she tossed her from one side to the other of the ring like a rag doll. She launched Eldon into the corner and followed with a running clothesline. Another Irish whip to send Karen to the opposite corner where she hit her with a knee to the face. A third time the former Lockdown champion was tossed against the turnbuckle. Bree charged toward her and went for a spear but this time Eldon moved out of the way and the Breebarian crashed shoulder-first into the post.
- Karen started to target that injured shoulder with stomps, kicks and all sort of illegal moves blatantly ignoring the referee’s warnings and pleas to stop. She gave another hard blow to Bree’s shoulder when she threw her a second time into the ring post, doubling down by exiting on the apron and kicking her shoulder. Smith groaned in pain and stumbled back to the middle of the ring, holding her injured arm. Karen jumped on the top rope and, with pinpoint precision, connected a dropkick to that same spot, following with a cover for another count of two.
- Even with one functioning arm, Bree was able to lift the opponent and powerbomb her into oblivion. A huge feat of strength that made the entire ring shaking but unfortunately for Smith wasn’t enough to win the match. It did a lot of damage to Karen though, giving Bree the chance to turn the tide. The left arm was not as strong as the right, but it still was enough to make Karen do a full flip when she clotheslined her. Karen got quickly back to her feet but she instantly regretted it as Bree met her with a flurry of left hands that left her groggy in the middle of the ring. The former Lockdown champion still tried to show off the Power Of Bree, but had to settle for two German suplex rather than the usual trifecta, and she didn’t go past the two.
- In a totally expected turn of events, when Karen was in difficulty her fiance Rainer appeared, trying to provide a fatal distraction to Bree and gift an easy win to Karen. What nobody saw coming was that someone was watching Bree’s back. And no, it wasn’t her friend Gabriel Landry. Tank Steiner himself climbed over the barricade and stood between Rainer and the ring. Clearly the Austrian Hulk wasn’t over the fact that Rainer beat him in a very controversial way and was here to take his pound of flesh. Nordhagen barked at him to move out of the way and seeing that Tank wasn’t even flinching, charged toward him at full speed, running right into Das Boot! Karen glanced in that direction and yelled something at Herr Steiner but, by doing so, she turned her back to Bree. The blonde didn’t hesitate and went for her Bree Show, getting the three count and saving her title shot.
