Riot in Michigan
Live from The Summit in Diamondale, MI
Sunday, November 13th, 2022
RECORDED EARLIER:
As Paula 'The Prodigy' Parker was entering the building, flanked by her brothers of course, she noticed the cameras standing by. She waves her brothers off and tells them to deliver her luggage to her dressing room. The brothers don't question their baby sister at all as Paula stops and looks at the camera operator.
Paula Parker:
Well, hello there. Certainly you want a comment after Riot in Kentucky. Go ahead, admit it. You were impressed, were you not?
The camera operator remains silent as Paula reaches over and pats them on the head.
Paula Parker:
You're camera shy, it's fine. The correct answer would be yes, not only were you impressed, but everyone around the world was impressed. The questions were answered. 'Is she over confident?', or 'Is she going to live up to the hype?', or better yet, 'Does she belong?'. I'm everything I was presented as and then some. Think about it, I just beat someone who has been doing this for much longer than she probably should have been doing it for, and that isn't taking anything away from what she's accomplished, but come on, the girl was too lazy to speak about the match one time, if the passion is gone, than so should she be, but anyway...
A smirk spreads over the young rookies face.
Paula Parker:
As I was saying, if I could beat Punk Kate Steele herself, a veteran of who knows how many years, what do you think I'm going to do to little miss Evelyn Carter tonight? Her claims to fame are running a bar, and of course, The Academy. Speaking of, do you know what I think of the Academy? I think I bypassed it and jumped up to where I am because The Academy would have done nothing for me at this point. I've been training for quite some time, and I think I proved myself at Riot in Kentucky, but Riot in Michigan? Consider this an Academy lesson all over again, Evelyn. Not only will you learn a thing or two, but you will also be able to say you wrestled Paula Parker in one of her first three matches ever. Brag about it, will you?
After a cackle, she pulls her shades off and looks straight into the camera.
Paula Parker:
I'm looking forward to this though, truly. It isn't every day I get to defeat a bar manager, someone who's esteemed sister is an interviewer, or commentator, whatever, apparently she's good with her mouth.
If there were fans watching this live, undoubtedly they would be booing the confident rookie who was getting more than a little disrespectful at this point.
Paula Parker:
Evelyn, don't worry, after this is over, I'll send a bottle to your room, you know, since you like serving up drinks so much. Drown in your sorrow. Such a pity.
She kisses her index finger and then pushes it against the camera before disappearing down the hallway.

As expected, the twins who currently hold the Millennium Tag Team Championships are discussing strategy backstage ahead of another solo outing, this time featuring Annica against Bebe LeBeau. As before, they’re wearing identically matching gear, despite it not being a team match, and seem ready as the camera rolls up.
Annica Greene:
Soooo….
Aliyah Greene:
Ayyyy….
Both:
We see what’s up, so, SUP Bebe LeBeau!
Annica Greene:
We get it, we do. Kay? Much like Leia hadda try it last time, get a little taste of the Champions, which are US of course…
Annica Greene:
…well, we figure that it’s all testin’ the waters. That’s why there wasn’t no shenanigans really last time, outta Leia. They was tryin’ it, to see how good we are apart, before they try and take us on together. Again y’know we don’t blame them.
Aliyah Greene:
Nope, don’t blame ‘em.
Annica Greene:
If we weren’t champs, we’d damn sure try to be ‘em, and with a quickness. Best way to do that is …well, what they doin’. So we expect a change up from last time, maybe a little sneaky sneak, maybe some mess, but we get it. Trust, we do. But yanno, Bebe can get GOT just like Leia, so we’ll see, we’ll see.

The Riot fans were in a scramble after the last bought ended, that was when the cameras found themselves roaming the backstage hallway, between a massive amount of crates, uncertain vending machines of an undisclosed beverage (Sandstorm Perhaps?) and of course a passings by of various superstars competing on tonight’s show, in a rather decorative corner, we find sitting perched in a Lotus Position the one and only Qiyara Singh. She only holds the pose momentarily before the appearance of Rhett Adelson interrupts her chanting in one of the mantras we’ve come to know her for.
Qiyara Singh:
Oh Rhetty, its almost that time again. Another Show, another match, another set of opponents.
She took a moment to come to her feet.
Qiyara Singh:
And hopefully another opportunity to redeem ourselves in the main scheme of things. Last time things didn’t go as planned, but when it comes to giving it our all there is no other team on the roster who will do what needs to be done to secure that win.
She paused allowing him a moment to get his message in.
Rhett Adelson:
This team tonight is absolutely ready! Taking on Chris Constantine who has done it all in this business and his partner? Marshal Smith? He’s a wrecking ball. A force to be reckoned with. An enforcer.
Rhett nodded, giving props to his opponents.
Rhett Adelson:
Having a mastermind like Chris combined with a powerful enforcer like Marshal is quite the duo. But you need more than that. You need to be in sync with each other. You need to think what your partner is thinking and guess what? Chris and Marshal?
Adelson shook his head.
Rhett Adelson:
They don’t have that. But Qiyara and I? We have it. We have perfected our chemistry. And tonight? We’re going to show that.
There was only a brief moment of hesitation shown on Qiyara’s face as Rhett said those words, attempting to mask it quickly she smiled along with Rhett’s enthusiasm.
Qiyara Singh:
While we can respect what they’re capable of, we can also highlight how disrespectful they were to the fans of this brand, to the match they were placed in, to the catering
Qiyara couldn’t help but laugh, as it was such a silly thing to complain about.
Qiyara Singh:
All in all though it doesn’t matter when its ring time, the only thing we will be doing is displaying exactly what everyone here has come to see. Team Adelson-Singh taking on Constantine and Marshal. With only one team consummating the rightful victory.”ù
Rhett smiled and wrapped his arm around Yara.
Rhett Adelson:
And that team is us. See you out there.
And with that the scene cuts away.

We continue with Riot as we get a glimpse of some pre-recorded footage. Outside the hotel room back in Altantic City the location of Millenium. We have Rainer Nordhagen the Junior Heavyeight Champion sitting on his hotel balcony relaxing. Until it is ruined as an angry Erika Eldon walks out with him.
Erika Eldon:
You kissed....my mom!?!?! What is going on!?!?
Looking like she is considering throwing him off the balcony, we have never seen Erika look this mad before.
Rainer seems taken aback by Erika’s attitude, slowly raising his hands defensively, though his own attitude hasn’t changed much. Not even rising from his chair, he responds.
Rainer Nordhagen:
Back up, babe. She kissed me, let’s get that straight.
He runs a hand over the top of his head, shaking it in frustration as he attempts to defend himself.
Rainer Nordhagen:
Go watch it all back if you don’t believe me. I tagged her in and she just…just kissed me. That’s not on me.
The German-Australian shrugged, picking up his drink and taking an almost insulting sip.
Rainer Nordhagen:
It wasn’t a big deal, anyway. Get over it, Erika. Didn’t mean a thing.
Seemingly confused expecting this to be a bigger thing.
Erika Eldon:
But I just..
Trailing off as Rainer dismisses her anger, as she shakes her head.
Erika Eldon:
Well what is the plan for Riot...
He took another sip of his drink, his eyebrow raising slightly as she spoke. Rainer turned his head to her, staring at her for a moment as if she were the dumbest person alive.
Rainer Nordhagen:
The plan? You win, just like we discussed.
Rainer shakes his head in frustration again, finally rising from his seat, putting his hands on his girlfriend’s shoulders.
Rainer Nordhagen:
Can’t you see this is all another taunt from your mother? The biggest match of you career and she’s doing all of this to get into your head. Gabe embarrassed her, publicly dumped her and she’s lashing out.
He places his fingers under her chin, lifting her head up, his eyes meeting hers.
Rainer Nordhagen:
She thinks you’re that weak. Are you?
Looking down, and seeming to actually have to think about it for a moment. She then shakes her head no.
Erika Eldon:
No I am not. I am sorry. It is just really weird. My mom is the worst. I know what the plan is. I am sorry I lashed out. Will you forgive me?
Erika gets closer to Rainer until they are side by side as she looks up at him with hopeful eyes.
He smiles at that, giving her a gentle kiss on the forehead before embracing her.
Rainer Nordhagen:
There’s nothing to apologize over, babe. I’m beginning to realize how weird it must have seemed. Sorry I let it happen. She won’t get anywhere near me from now on.
Erika gives him a kiss and cuddles into his arms.
Rainer Nordhagen:
Now come on. Let's forget about all of that, put it out of your mind complete - let's talk about the strategy for the big match.
With that Rainer breaks away from the embrace, taking his girlfriend by the hand, leading her back inside the room.
Backstage at The Summit, we can feel the crowd buzzing for “Riot in Michigan”. The fans cheer and chant as The Franchise walks into view of the camera. Billy Danielson has made his way to the world title scene in every other company he works for, and now he’s just inches away from the MWE World Championship Cage Scramble. Standing proud with a smirk, he looks into the camera and begins his promo.
Billy Danielson:
MICHIGAN!!!
You can hear the pop from backstage, which puts a smile on Danielson’s face.
Billy Danielson:
It’s great to be back here, and it’s great to be back on Riot! I love going back and forth between MWE’s brands because it’s indicative of being the company's Franchise.
He balls his fist in a confident way. Billy was so excited for the opportunity to step up in Millenium and tonight he was going to get one step closer to his goal.
Billy Danielson:
You see, since Day 1, I said I was going to be the new flag bearer for this company. I told everyone with ears that I was here to be the best of the best, and for over a year I have fought and I have climbed up the proverbial mountain and now I’m just a couple of matches away from achieving my goals and becoming MWE World Champion.
Danielson takes a moment to think of bis journey so far in MWE. The highs, the lows, and the uncomfortable amount of Megan Manning that’s been in it.
Billy Danielson:
I’ve beaten people like Peirce Manning, Julian Savell, Tank Steiner, and Duke Andrews. I’ve taken people like Melissa Reeves and Alan Envy to their limits. I have fought my own flesh and blood in this ring numerous times. I’ve challenged for title after title. I have proven time and again that I can be the guy, I just need the right moment, and this Championship Cage Scramble is just the opportunity I’ve been looking for!
Billy’s muscles twitch at the idea of officially qualifying for the scramble match. Knowing the other names trying to qualify makes it just as exciting but for now only one name matters… Veronica Sawyer!
Billy Danielson:
I know this qualifying tournament is treacherous. Some might say I barely got passed Sophie O’Brian in the first round, but the fact of the matter is I’m here now and I’m about to stand across Ronnie for two falls. It won’t be easy, and in reality, every round of these qualifiers gets harder and harder, BUT I AM HERE FOR IT!!!
There is a fire in his eyes as he continues.
Billy Danielson:
The whole point of all of this is that I’ve come too far to be stopped now. One fall, two falls, red falls, blue falls, I DON’T CARE!!! Because at the end of the day, I’m going to stand tall over Veronica Sawyer, I’m going to qualify for the Championship Cage Scramble, and I’m going to walk out, not only as The Franchise I was always meant to be for this company but as your new MWE World Champion!
Danielson smirks at the camera and winks, before walking away for his match.

The bottoms of the Ariat boots were front and center of the camera shot. The bottoms were worn and ragged. The jeans that covered the upper of the boot looked just as beat up, from the tatters and tears, rips and holes. The red blood hand prints from the swipe down. The image settles on the sleeveless, ratted up once black t-shirt. The blue font cracked with the “Teh Southern Hearthrob” old school Christian Michaels logo front and center on the chest, eliciting a large cheer from the Michigan crowd.
Duke Andrews:
And just like that, these bottlejack fucks from the middle of nowhere will still cheer for me. Just because of where I call home.
LETS GO DUKE!!! *clap clap clap* LETS GO DUKE!!! *clap clap clap*
Duke Andrews:
This shithole is the closest I’ll get to wrestling at home. It’s like Grace thinks I leaked her nudes again and she’s punishing me for having to come to Holt.
Duke moved his hand up and ran his thumb along his chains as he stared into the camera.
Duke Andrews:
The gawd damn high school is more popular than this city. And if it wasn’t for me showing up tonight, there’d be less than a thousand people here. Ain’t no one on this card pulling this crowd into the building!
The crowd cheers again. Literally the dumbest group of people from Michigan. You’d think they were from Ohio.
Duke Andrews:
Don’t worry babe, the silver lining is that Trailer Swift won’t show up because she can’t find it from the high way, and it’s only an hour back to the house. But other than that, two out of three falls. Two wins and I’m done. Simple as that. I’ve been listening to people reference my age this week, and I’m basically like Gabe in this situation. Seth is even a baby compared to Angelica. And I know you don’t really swing one way or the other, but I could spit in a babys face and still be loved. You have more than a mountain to climb. You’ve gotta try and topple Space Mountain if you think you’re going to end up on top of me. Maybe we can work something out. I know a kid who likes old chicks.
A quick wink from Duke as he rests his hands back to his side.
Duke Andrews:
But really, it’s ten god damn degrees outside. I had to leave my tree stand to drag Bambi to my truck just so I could come here. Angelica, I’mma make short work out if you tonight and then refocus my attention for when it really counts and I can finally get my property back.
Fade.

We cut backstage where we find “The Assassin” Clyde Sutter. The MWE Riot Champion is dressed in his all black ring attire and his black trenchcoat. He has his MWE Riot Championship title belt wrapped around his waist. For a time Sutter has been cold and emotionless as he makes his walk through the backstage area. But then he stops and chuckles softly, amused at something…or someone…that he sees. As the camera pans over we can see that the individual in question is none other than “The British Bombshell” Glory Braddock. Glory Braddock is wearing a woven maxi dress with a v-neckline, long bell sleeves, sheer crochet lace overlay, a solid black mini lining, and black high heeled boots. Her long blonde hair is left to hang freely, flowing unrestrained to well past the shoulders.
Clyde Sutter:
Funny seeing you here, Ms. Braddock….mom.
Sutter smirks at this tease. It is meant in jest because Sutter is dating Glory’s oldest daughter, Melinda Braddock, thus implying that Sutter believes himself to be Glory’s son in law. Braddock herself does not find it very funny but keeps her cool.
Glory Braddock:
You know, Sutter, you did help my sister not too long ago in GCW. And you even helped me here in MWE…even if it did not turn out in my favor…so I will let that little remark slide.
Clyde Sutter:
You are all heart, Ms. Braddock. Though I am surprised to find you here this evening. Shouldn’t you be playing GOD over in GCW or defending that championship in SCW or training those little runts at your old man’s wrestling school? I mean, don’t you have better things to do than to hang out here in Michigan with me?
Glory Braddock:
You’re right, Clyde. I am busy dipping my toe into many business ventures, I have many plans, but at the top of that list is to eventually become MWE World Champion. I have not given up on that goal.
Clyde Sutter:
Clearly.
The British Bombshell gazes down at Sutter’s title belt.
Glory Braddock:
But I think you have a championship of your own to defend. West Long is your opponent, right?
Clyde Sutter:
Yes. But Mr. Long won’t be a problem. I have put down bigger men than him with relative ease. Fate has already determined that his time is up and I am going to execute him in just a few moments.
Braddock rolls her eyes.
Glory Braddock:
Spare me your talk of fate and time, Clyde. Just go out there and do what you do best. Beat him up and win.
A genuine look of surprise forms on Sutter’s face.
Clyde Sutter:
Are you wishing me good luck, Ms. Braddock?
Glory Braddock:
We may have had our differences and while I admit that I still don’t trust you, I can honestly admit that there is no better flag bearer for the Riot brand than you. So take West Long down.
The Assassin sneers.
Clyde Sutter:
It will be my genuine pleasure.
Sutter walks off. Glory Braddock watches him with a grin on her face.

The segment opens up backstage where Selena Lyre is seen standing infront of Mr.X having a conversation.
Selena Lyre :
I’m sorry for losing two weeks ago Mr.X, I honestly don’t know what happened, i thought I had the match one, but i ended up eating the mat.
Mr.X :
You did nothing wrong girl, you win some, and you lose some. Last week you lost, because you opponent moved out of the way, and your body came crashing full force onto the matt, and this is where the lesson begins! The pain you felt when you landed? Remember that because your going to feel pain a lot in this business, and you will feel it worse than that, and if you wanna be a star in this business you gotta learn to fight through the pain even when you think it’s to much, because winning means something to you, whether it means the extra money from winning, or becoming a champion, or having your name remembered for ages, it’s what we call heart. Now go out there and let these people know who you are girl.
Selena Lyre’s theme music hits as she smiles, and nods at Mr.X, turning and walking through the curtains onto the stage smiling as she looks around at the thousands of people before she takes off running down the ramp, sliding into the ring, and running jumping onto the top rope, and does a backflip landing flawlessly on her feet, while throwing up her right hand with a peace sign and sticking her tongue out wowing the crowd, as she then steps over, and grabs a microphone from the corner of the ring before repositioning herself in the center of the ring.
Selena Lyre :
Riot! What is up?! I don’t think I have properly told you guys who I am, and so I am here to tell you my story. You see, I am not supposed to be here right now in all honesty… I come from a poor family, so I have always had to provide for myself, and so after I graduated High School? College was never a question, and besides I have always wanted to be a professional wrestler, but you see? My family couldn’t afford to send me to wrestling school so I had to get a job as a cashier at the local supermarket to be able to afford tuition, and even then i struggled, because I also wanted to help my family with their bills, and help put food on the table that we had little of, and so I told my head trainer that I was gonna drop out by the time the next payment was due, because I would not be able to afford another, and he frowned and said it’s a shame cause I was his top student at that time, but he understands, and so the day came when the next payment was due, and I started packing my bags, and that’s when someone who happened to be visiting the wrestling school that day, and he said to me “Girl you have to much talent to just quit so I want you to come live with me, and my wife, and train under me for free”. I instantly told him no, because I couldn’t leave my family who are barely able to take care of themselves! What kind of a daughter would I be? This guy however told me don’t worry child I will take care of your family’s bills as well as completely pay off their house payment, and provide food on their table. My eyes instantly lit up, because no one has ever been this kind to me… to us, and so I accepted.
Selena Pauses for a moment allowing her story to sink in with the audience.
Selena Lyre :
Yes I know some of you may be thinking it was stupid to just accept an invite from someone you don’t know, and to get up and leave to live with them, and looking back I’m like that was stupid of me, because i could have been agreeing to go with a serial killer or anything!, but I assure you Mr. X, and his wife have been the most wonderful people, and Mr.X used to wrestle her for Millennium, but that’s all I can say until he is ready to reveal who he is, but needless to say Mr.X has taught me a lot about myself, and about this business, and it is because of him that I am standing in the middle of this ring, and so tonight I face five other competitors for a future shot at the Junior Heavyweight Championship, and I know facing multiple opponents can get confusing, and is a weakness of mine, but Mr.X taught me to not get overwhelmed or nervous by my weaknesses, but to confront them and conquer them, and so tonight I fight to make my family proud, tonight I fight to make Mr.X not regret choosing me as his protege, and most importantly I fight for myself to show everyone sitting out their in the audience today that no matter what hardships you face in life? There is a light at the end of the tunnel, to never give up on your dreams, and chase them with everything that you are.
Selena smiles brightly looking out into the crowd.
Selena Lyre :
Millennium they say that lightning never strikes the same place twice, but tonight the Electric Girl will strike not once, not twice, not three times, not four, but five times in a row! Tonight the Sky Goddess shows why I am going to show the world that the sky is not the limit when I soar leagues above everyone else in this match! See you guys later tonigh!.
Selena Lyre drops the microphone, and waves to the crowd smiling before leaving the ring, and heading to the back.
We cut backstage where we find MWE journalist Camille Bellamy. Her guest happens to be a newcomer to MWE but not a newcomer to wrestling. She is a thirteen time former world champion who recently came out of retirement. Standing there in her black and crimson full one piece ring gear with her black leather jacket is “The Dragon” Angelica Jones.
Camille Bellamy:
Ladies and gentlemen I am being joined at this time by a woman who really needs no introduction. She made her debut against Alan Envy to advance further into this world title qualifier tournament and now she faces an even bigger challenge in the form of Duke Andrews. Her name is Angelica Jones.
Angelica Jones:
Thank you Camille.
Camille Bellamy:
Angelica, you are a legend already, you are a thirteen ti…
Jones holds up a hand to silence Hayden.
Angelica Jones:
I want to stop you right there, Camille. Yeah, everyone today knows how to use google. If they want my resume and background so damn badly then let them look it up. I don’t need you or anyone else to sing my praises and I am definitely not going to stand here and rattle off my accomplishments. My cousin likes to do that sort of thing but not me. You know her as Glory Braddock.
Angelica chuckles softly.
Angelica Jones:
I prefer to let my actions speak louder than words. I think my actions have already been speaking pretty damn loudly wouldn’t you agree? I just made my debut and yeah, some people may have disagreed with my inclusion in this world title challenge. Even I wasn’t sure if it was right to put me in. But I got to fight Alan Envy and I beat his ass. Now I’m fighting Duke Andrews in a two out of three falls match. Duke himself was recently the MWE World Champion. It doesn’t get any easier for me, does it?
She shakes her head.
Angelica Jones:
But I don’t WANT it to be easy. If I become world champion, I want to earn it the hard way. So I am going to bring the fight to Duke here tonight and if I have my way, The Dragon will burn him and his dreams of regaining the title to the ground.
Angelica turns and walks off.

We then find that as we come back from break that Vincent Moretti and Elsa McCarthy are in the ring. In an opposite scene from Millennium, it is Vincent who is the one who is armed with a live microphone in the ring. The Silver Fox, dressed in a silver suit, nods his head at the people in attendance.
Vincent Moretti:
We promise, we won’t be long. We’re just as excited to see who the new number one contender will be for the Junior Heavyweight Championship just as you are here but it’s time to reveal who will be honored next.
Vincent lets out a pause as the crowd is listening intently to him. Elsa looks at the older man working up the crowd and nods her head.
Vincent Moretti:
Five years is a long time for a company to be open in this ever changing landscape of professional wrestling. We heard Elsa talk about how this company has grown quite a bit and there are often eyes who are looking toward the future. Looking to what might be down the line. But I was never happier to hear that a Hall of Fame was being put together to honor those who have been with us. We cannot look forward without thanking those who were there before us.
There’s a slight pause as the audience begins their round of ‘MWE’ chants and the older counterpart lets out a coy smirk nodding his head.
Vincent Moretti:
It’s never easy to stand out in a wrestling company when you have had so many talented professional wrestlers come through here. I’ve lobbied for several matches and then booked several multi-faceted and multi-talented wrestlers in matches. But the next inductees…
There’s a buzz when Vincent says the word inductees as in plural and that coy smirk remains.
Vincent Moretti:
The next inductees were with us at the start and one of the foundational pieces for the standard that is today’s tag team wrestling. A pair of brothers…
And the coy smirk turns more into a smile when the fans are cheering starting to piece it together.
Vincent Moretti:
A pair of brothers, I say who have helped pave the way for what tag team wrestling could and has ended up being for our company. They won the tag championships in November of 2019. One of the brothers ended up having a blood feud with Duke Andrews showing his versatility in both singles and tags. But on the Fifth Anniversary of our Company these two brothers will take their place in immortality alongside Rebecca Saint…
He then leans forward ever so slightly, brushing his hair back.
Vincent Moretti:
The Brothers McMillion, Simon Michaels…you know him better as Javen…and Christian Michaels. These two men will be the next members of our Hall of Fame!
And there’s the enormous pop for the veteran tag team going in. Vincent peers around with a smirk letting the crowd chant for the Michaels siblings.
Vincent Moretti:
The native Tennessee duo have both accepted their invitation to join us in Chicago for the Fifth Anniversary and allow themselves to be honored in the first ever class for this company. I do not know if this is enough to thank both of them or Rebecca or our future Hall of Fame members but we want you to know that you aren’t forgotten and you’re damn sure appreciated. Just listen to the audience.
Vincent then points to the crowd who have continued chanting for the siblings and is even helping to lead it along a little. This continues for a long moment before Vincent decides to slow it down.
Vincent Moretti:
Now…as fun as this announcement has been, we have a main event with some of the highest stakes you can ask for on the line. The next member will be announced on Millennium…but Diamondale Michigan…
The crowd again cheers but this time for the name of their city being spoken.
Vincent Moretti:
It is indeed time for the Main Event of your evening! Let us enjoy the show!
With that last announcement Vincent starts to leave the ring to allow the main event participants to start to come into the ring with Elsa following him.
