MWE Summer Beach Tour: Sharm El-Sheik
Live from Naama Bay in Sharm El-Sheik, Egypt
Monday, August 8th, 2022
Caught by a CCTV camera placed in the parking lot of one of the most exclusive hotels in town, we witness a meeting that was likely meant to stay private, away from prying eyes. The time on the security footage places the scene the night before the MWE show, the streets around the location are bustling with tourists enjoying their holidays.
That didn’t seem to be the case with Trinity Thompson, leaning back against the wall chain-smoking nervously. The reason for her uneasiness becomes clear when the hotel concierge opens the door for Faizah Marshall. The Best At Everything, followed like a shadow by her bodyguard, is dressed to the nines, as if she was going on a date. And that might as well be the reason for this meeting, based on the events of Barcelona. At the very least, that’s what the Cloud Gate Champion is hoping for.
Trinity Thompson:
Fuck…
She grunts as she throws the cigarette on the sidewalk, stomping it under the boot with far too aggressiveness for such a normal gesture. Perhaps it wasn’t the stub she imagined to be crushing under her foot.
Faizah Marshall:
Cigarette breath isn’t attractive, Trinity. Might be a good idea to gargle your mouth with mouthwash before we get officially underway.
Thompson shrugs her shoulders, coldly staring at her former fellow student.
Trinity Thompson:
Lucky you I ain’t gonna kiss you then.
Kicking one foot in front of the other, she leans back against the wall, crossing her arms on her chest. Faizah rolls her eyes.
Faizah Marshall:
Wow... how can you be so rude?
Faizah takes a deep breath, calming herself down.
Faizah Marshall:
Look Trin. Can we make tonight as seamless as possible? No attitude. Your sister’s freedom is at stake. Either we’re going to make this the best night of my life or I’m gonna walk away. I have a dozen or so matches I can put Tiff through. Inferno match. Flaming tables. Three stages of Hell. So lets start over ok?
Even with the low definition of the security camera, one could see Trinity’s expression growing increasingly concerned with every stipulation mentioned by Faizah. The concern goes hand-in-hand with her rage, the fists clenching being a dead giveaway. One that TD doesn’t miss, as he immediately grabs his client’s arm and pulls her a couple of steps back, out of Trinity’s reach.
Oddly enough though, hitting her is not Thompson’s intention. Instead she stuffs her hands inside the pockets of her jeans.
Trinity Thompson:
You’re right, let’s start over.
There’s not even time for Faizah to react before Trinity continues.
Trinity Thompson:
Let’s go back to when this all started. to when I played Tiff’s music and tainted your win against Faith. That’s where it all started, right? Before it somehow drifted into this weird love/hate relationship you have with my sister, your issues were with ME. That’s why I’m here, to ask you to stop fucking with Tiff’s career, to stop making her pay for something I’ve done.
Faizah takes a moment to process everything that Trinity told her. She looks over her shoulder at TD, he gives no real reaction to the current situation. Turning back to Trinity she appears ready to respond.
Faizah Marshall:
You're right... partially. All this did start when you didn't allow me the chance to end Faith by my hand alone. And I don't know if I can forgive you for that. But Tiff has hurt me too, your family is at fault for causing me pain. I don't want to go into it all that. We'll agree to disagree.
Faizah shrugs her shoulders. She rests her hands on her hips. Tilting her head to the side, she decides to break the silence.
Faizah Marshall:
Believe me if you want, all the times I said I don't want to fight you anymore, I mean it. Me wanting to sleep with you, that's not a lie. As much as you love your sister, I doubt you're willing to cross that line with a woman whose guts you hate. So if you have a counter offer to earn your sister's freedom, I'm all ears. I can't back down now. I want something in return. What can you offer me that'll give Tiff control over her MWE life again?
Trinity tried to keep her composure, but when Faizah mentioned “crossing that line”, her heart skipped a beat, Truth being told, she considered the option for a minute, when she believed she had none left. Then it hit her, and she set things in motion to arrive at this meeting prepared. From her pocket, Trinity pulls out an envelope, the MWE logo printed on it.
Trinity Thompson:
Mine.
She locks her eyes with those of the Cloud Gate champion, handing her the envelope.
Trinity Thompson:
My MWE life in exchange for my sister’s.
Faizah’s face shows that she is taken aback by the gesture that Trinity had made for her own sister. She looks back at TD as if to confirm what is transpiring is real. He nods his head, confirming to Faizah that this is indeed happening. Turning back to look at the envelope, then back into Trinity’s eyes, Faizah nods.
Faizah Marshall:
This works for me. Tiff’s living with the fact that I own you now? If this doesn’t break her heart, nothing will. Trinity. We have a deal.
A smile breaks out on Faizah’s face.
Trinity Thompson:
You’re a sick individual Faizah…
Trinity says with disdain.
Trinity Thompson:
But I’m glad we got the agreement. If we’re done here, I’d like to go and vomit.
Faizah Marshall:
Just one more thing--
Faizah hesitates as if she’s contemplating what she wishes to say. Then she shrugs.
Faizah Marshall:
--forget it, we’re done here.
Faizah turns her back to Trinity. She walks off. TD Batterson isn’t too far behind.
Singles Match
Kate Steele VS Luis RiveraTo kick off the night in Sharm El-Sheik, the fans were treated to an interesting match featuring one of the talents coming out of the Academy, the former boxer Luis Rivera. Before the match started, the young and confident kid grabbed a microphone to remind everyone about his ongoing undefeated streak. He didn’t earn himself any fans with the statement: the only thing he obtained was to fire up his opponent, who shut him up with a superkick right to the mush. That gave her a head start to control the first minutes of the match, using her high-flying style to score a couple of near falls, although in both cases Luis kicked out with authority at two. The tides quickly changed as Luis grabbed the flying opponent and turned her diving crossbody attempt into a backbreaker. Since his last match back before the Summer, the Academy graduate was showing great improvements tonight, especially in the technical aspects of his repertoire. Sure, his main weapons were still his hands, but the progress toward becoming a more complete wrestler was under everyone’s eyes. And so the match went on, ad after a few suplexes (including a very well executed bridging fisherman) and a short comeback attempt from Steele culminating in a close call for Lucho, the match ended in the only possible way. A terrific right hook to end it all, catching Kate right on the show and knocking her flat on her back for an easy three count. WINNER: Luis Rivera BY: Pinfall (Right Hook), 7:32 |
"Trust"
The scene opens in an office somewhere and this is where we find none other than the current Millennium Wrestling Enterprises MEN TV champion, Devon Slayton, dressed in a very respectable gray suit and looking very dapper in it as well as he sits across the room from a blonde woman who seems to be studying him.
Woman:
So tell me Devon, how are things going for you since the last time that you and I spoke?
Devon Slayton:
Pretty well actually. Been helping one of my little brothers preparare for his return to the ring following the total collapse of the company that he was working for and all of the BS surrounding that. I'm enjoying my time away from the ring just generally goofing off and preparing for my next match anywhere.
The woman's eyes narrow slightly before she writes a couple of things down before looking back up at him
Woman:
And what about that one thing that I asked you to work on since the last time that I saw you?
Devon's eyes narrow slightly for a moment before they relax and he shakes his bearded head.
Devon Slayton:
I haven't done anything in that direction whatsoever.
Woman:
Why is that?
Devon's eyes grow hard yet again for the briefest of moments before they relax again and he takes a deep breath and holds it for a moment before letting it out again
Devon Slayton:
Because to be honest there is no need to. Every time that I think about reaching out to her and dealing with that particular issue, I find out that she's more focused on going through guys like they are a packet of tissues rather than actually be any one guy which leads me to believe that my entire time with her was nothing but one big, long con...
The woman looks ready to say something but Devon holds up a hand, forestalling her from speaking quite yet.
Devon Slayton:
And that's not me being casually cruel or dismissive about the entire matter, Doctor Martin. It just simply means that I should've seen the lie coming and had simply moved on from it rather than let it absorb an entire almost two years of my life and watch my dreams just bloody wither and die like I had been made to do.
Doctor Martin takes this in and nods, setting her pen aside for a moment before clasping her hands in front of her as she focuses on Devon.
Dr. Martin:
If I may play the Devil's Advocate for just a moment, Devon? What if there is more to this than what you are seeing...I mean here you had a young woman who was marrying into only one of the most established families in professional wrestling, but also a pretty large family to begin with nonetheless...maybe she got scared by the sheer overwhelmingness of it all?
Devon sits there in silence for a few moments before arching a single eyebrow at the shrink.
Dr. Martin:
Like I said, I was simply offering up the Devil's view of things. But needless to say, sometimes we must take all things on a little trust...
Singles Match
Nine van der Hoek VS Crystal ZdunichAccompanied to the ring by Erin Marie Paige and a few of her cultists, still wearing the black robe and golden mask despite the African heat. Crystal expressed her concern to the referee but a snap of Nine’s fingers made the cultists disappear. As for the match itself, the Frisian Demon took control in the early moments, immediately bringing the fight on the mat, a more congenial ground for her. The slow pace and prolonged holds didn’t meet the taste of the fans in Sharm El-Sheik, but their effectiveness was undeniable. The textbook kneebar she applied around the fourth minute mark did some serious damage to Zdunich’s leg, as she limped for a bit after barely making it to the ropes to save herself. And even when she connected the Flashing Lights (roundhouse kick), it seemed to be hurting her as much as it hurt van der Hoek. Crystal wasted some precious moments before being able to make the cover, allowing the opponent to kick out with ease. The victory never seemed to be in question for Nine, not even when Crystal seemed to be able to finally build some as she planted Nine on her head with a tornado ddt. In an excess of confidence, Zdunich climbed to the top rope, waiting for the opponent to rise to hit her with the Power Absorption. The presence of Erin and the constant menace of being jumped by the cultists had bothered Crystal throughout all the match. Even now, she took a moment to check that nobody would try anything, and that brief distraction was fatal. Nine got up to her feet and threw her body against the ropes, causing Zdunich to ruinously fall inside the ring. She didn’t give her enough time to even get back to her feet before hitting the Seventh Nightmare (somersault cutter into armtrap crossface) for a quick submission win. WINNER: Nine van der Hoek BY: Submission, (Seventh Nightmare) |
Backstage, Infront of the MWE logo Ash Fi stands in preparation for her second match in the company. Last match years ago, a special exhibition against her aunt. It seems the higher ups enjoyed the Irish athelete so much that she is called up again. Not for a simple match against a family member this time; this time it is against one of Millennium's finest. Jennifer Carter stands to the side with mic between them.
Jennifer Carter:
Ash Fi. Welcome back to Millennium Wrestling Enterprise. How does it feel to once more wrestle as a special guest here?
Ash Fi:
Since the last time I had a scrap here, so much has happened. Made a few friends, that's still weird. Made a few enemies. Much like that match I had here years ago, I thought everything just marched on. So when I got the call to come back here and have another exhibition, I was quite surprised. I traveled the world in efforts to be an in demand name, but when the demand calls I get right flustered, aye?
Ash Fi chuckled. Despite saying she's flustered, she sure didn't look it.
Jennifer Carter:
I guess that would be a shock. Being your second time around do you think you are willing to sign a more long term deal?
Ash Fi wiggled her finger in a chiding manner. Seeming to be in quite good spirits this day.
Ash Fi:
Now now, I can't go showing my hand in front of cameras and everything. I intend to keep my options open. I'm glad my name is in the shortlist.
Jennifer Carter:
Have you done any research on your opponent? Do you have any opinions on Devon Slayton?
Before Ash could answer the next question a certain loudmouth Scot and her bodyguard strolled into the scene. Announcing her arrival in the fashion she is known for.
Morag Bean:
Oi Ash! I heard you were here but I had to see it for myself. Ho-
Ash Fi turns her head to see where the noise is from before immediately returning her focus to the interview at hand.
Ash Fi:
I have. And honestly I can't wait. Despite all the opponents I have faced, meeting someone who also has a penchant for submission holds is rare. And for someone with his level of experience, I'm sure I'll leave that match learning a few new holds. And with that match being for the Cloudgate Title? He may not pull out all the stops but a good number of them. I have a few tricks of my own and I love me a good fight.
Morag's outburst seems to be completely ignored. Not even being acknowledged as Ash Fi walks past. Though she does stop to regard Meera
Ash Fi:
You got leaner. Keep it up
Ash Fi walks off frame as Morag stands quiet. Her face twitching. Not a fan of being ignored by her friend.
We hear the water lapping against the coast before the screen brightens once more and we find ourselves in the early gray of pre-dawn as the camera looks about the cold, empty shores of Naama Bay in Sharm El-Sheik, Egypt and this is where we find the man himself-Devon Slayton-dressed very professionally and dapper in a pair of black slacks with a white silk dress shirt, his signature heavy brown coat on over that with his hands in his pockets as he looks out across the bay.
Devon Slayton:
Trust, in the entirety of our waking world it is perhaps the rarest and most valuable of currencies. With trust, two people perform deals that could either bring together or shatter nations, with trust two men can try to have the most epic of wars within a wrestling or boxing ring with a definite winner, and most importantly with trust, two separate halves of a heart becomes one for the whole of entirety.
But trust can only go so far before it is forced to be abandoned upon the rocky shoals of reality, to be shattered...broken...torn...drowned...and most importantly left impotent and dead upon the shoals.
Devon turns his head slightly and allows himself a moment to smile
Devon Slayton:
But you all can trust good old Devon.
You can trust me to show up each and every time that Millennium Wrestling Enterprises needs its television champion to help showcase some of the most epic levels of technical wrestling, time and time again without fail. Or you can trust me to never put myself before this company like so many others have done in the past to the grievous harm of this company...and most importantly you can trust me to *always* have my best friend Tank's back, no matter what the cost to myself personally.
But most importantly, Ash Fi, you can trust me to not only put you through the paces...but to also find you wanting and unworthy of coming close to holding my championship, because under my stewardship, the TV championship is going to be more than just something used to get a chance at the world title...and while I might enjoy that in the future, for now I'm more than happy with being the television champion and raising it to be on equal level with the intercontinental championship.
But Ash, I don't want you to automatically assume that I'm not understanding that oh so slim chance that you can come from out of nowhere and beat me because you've been doing this for the past six years...but by that same token you've also got to understand that I'm not some Johnny come lately either but I am a veteran with over twenty years in this sport, that's twenty years of breaking my ass all across each and every single landmass on the face of this blue green little marble...and unfortunately for you, we just happen to be in Egypt which is a kind of a homecoming for me.
You see, very early on in my career I worked for Cairo Championship Wrestling and it allowed me to showcase my talents in a way that helped to set the stage for my career at that point going forward, so I've already got a quasi-home advantage but needless to say that I'm not going to be counting on it to help me to carry the day.
Devon's smile becomes much more pronounced as he shakes his head again
Devon Slayton:
No Ash, what's going to carry me to victory is the pure and simple fact that where it comes to pure technical wrestling, nobody in this company even comes close to the level that I exist at and that causes problems because while I could fall back on my past and call myself a "First among equals", I know that's nothing more than a bunch of horseshit because while *anyone* can call themself that, it's a whole different matter to actually have the skills required to back that boast up.
And I refuse to ever allow myself to be at *that* level of arrogant again, Ash, and the reason that I refuse to do that ever again to myself is because it distracts me from what needs to be actually done...that level of arrogance forces the true desires of the person to be made more hollow...a person becomes more like one of those vapid TikTok stars rather than a true wrestler.
So Ash, very soon it's going to be time for you to truly test what your skills are truly capable of doing...but in the end, you will find yourself wanting as you try to catch your breath after I have stolen it from you, snatched it from your very lungs...and as you start to fade to black, you will hear those oh so twisted words from the ring announcer talking about the retention of my championship as I go on to make MENTV Championship become something greater than either one of us are...
At this point, the smile disappears from Devon's face and the look is replaced with one of a steely, dark resolve as his ice blue eyes bore hard into the camera
Devon Slayton:
But in the end, Ash Fi, you will be just like everyone else...in that you will fade to black.
That much, you can without any doubt...trust.
The screen fades to black.
MENTV Championship Match
Devon Slayton © VS Ash FiFirst defense on the Summer Tour for Devon Slayton, against an unexpected challenger in Ash Fi. The Irish born wasn’t a complete stranger to the MWE fans, having appeared along with Destiny during the Australian tour a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, they were left with that curiosity as Morag Bean blindsided the fan favorite during the entrance, clubbing her from behind and taking out all her frustrations with a series of vicious stomps to the head. Ash was in no condition to fight. Devon was annoyed as well, seeing her long awaited defense being canceled. He demanded to fight Morag instead, but the Cannibal Queen was being escorted backstage by three security members who still struggled to contain her. WINNER: No Contest BY: 0:00 |
The crowd is ready for more action and then the lights end up dimming as there’s that gasp from the audience. We then hear the opening strums to ‘Unsainted’ and the audience perks up in full attention, even cheering which is unusual considering most of this man’s career. Then Seth Iser ends up walking through the curtain to that cheer and the man looks…well different then recently but far more accustomed to what we’ve known him for. The beard has grown out a bit, the hair has as well, just with more gray spots. Soon the veteran ends up lumbering down toward the ring with purpose.
He isn’t interacting with any of the fans, just straightens the purple tie on his black and purple combination suit as he pulls himself up the stairs. There’s a purpose in his step and a sneer etched on his face as he pulls himself up to the apron and enters the ring. When a man this size and with this much statue ends up asking for a microphone you aren’t refusing his request. The audience lets out a cheer but Seth is asking for both the music to be turned off and for the audience to simmer down.
Seth Iser:
The first thing I’m going to say is…if that Dalek is here tonight…I’ll exterminate him on the damn spot for robbing me of an actual opportunity to be your World Champion tonight.
There’s a bit of menace in his voice with that threat as the audience cheers the show of aggression but after that Seth just lightens his face.
Seth Iser:
But I have to admit to the people that in regards to something else…I had to change my mind about something.
This gets the people’s attention but Seth is as calm as he can be even with the earlier show of aggression.
Seth Iser:
There is nothing more mysterious than the inner workings of the human mind. No matter how much self reflection…how much knowing of oneself we can have, there’s still going to be an element of something we don’t know. It just shows that one thing is true…you never stop learning unless you shut your own mind off to it. And…I might be old but old habits die hard. You never stop learning about anything you can in this industry, in your own sense of your own mind, and in life in general.
The elder statesmen of the industry nods his head as he’s confirming the very things he’s saying. He glances out at the audience who does give him a roar of support briefly but it’s for a brief moment.
Seth Iser:
And it’s amazing what being reminded of another wound will do…to the psyche. A wound that’s now residing in Canada even if the origins are in Australia.
There’s a coldness in that statement as Seth closed his eyes. The veteran just rubs the back of his neck briefly before letting out a sigh.
Seth Iser:
In a few days I have to be a ref and be resigned to the fact that I was a part of a great wound…part of a great curse that Lockhart still has a hold of, in another company. But with that reality in front of me…and spending time doing almost nothing but finding a different mountain to hike in nature…it clears your mind. It can even change your mind like it did for me and it opened my eyes on what I really need to do.
And then there’s a stern stare coming from the veteran Iser as he’s got that sneer etched across his face, and the intensity is creeping up on his face.
Seth Iser:
Pierce and Megan Manning…
He mentions the names and just like that the audience is booing quite loudly. Seth does take a moment for the people to get it out of their system.
Seth Iser:
I know…they’re talented but entitled wankers…
The audience cheers Seth using the British insult despite it being in Egypt but Seth shakes his head.
Seth Iser:
But you two need to listen closely right now because you’ve been badgering about a match with me…and I’ve said no. Then I saw how you looked at my family…I knew where you two would go. I’m not about to play that game with you two, I already played a brutal enough version of that with Julian and even if that was one I won…I’m not one who wants to revisit history. No…
He shakes his head but his face starts to turn and morph into something darker. He’s looking more and more like the older Seth Iser we’re used to seeing.
Seth Iser:
So when television becomes a regular thing again, there will be a proper pay per view. And guess what…I will have a proper contract for one of you to sign for a singles match. One of you two will go one on one…with me.
There’s a cheer from audience at the announcement and Seth’s face continues to morph into that evil genius mode.
Seth Iser:
Yes…only one of you two tossers can go one on one with me. That’s your decision to figure out, isn’t it?
There’s a smirk on Iser’s face as the audience begins to process that insult and then they let out a huge cheer but Iser’s about to launch into it now with the vein starting to show on his neck.
Seth Iser:
But let me tell you BOTH something…Dealing with the Omens and walking through the Mountains for a month cleared my head into what really needs to be done with you two. Fun's over. The industry often humbles those whose egos get too big. I am Seth Iser. I AM Professional Wrestling! And I'm going to be the avenue to humble both your asses one way or another!
There’s a loud, resounding cheer from the veteran who seems a lot more fired up and he puts an exclamation point by spiking the microphone and we hear that static sound when it hits the canvas hard. With that announcement from Seth he then turns on his heel and walks off with determination on his face and bad intentions on his mind.
Singles Match
Saul Maverick VS Duke AndrewsThe Bearded Crusader didn’t seem intimidated as he stepped in the ring with the Top Heel, the former World Champion Duke Andrews. He even challenged the veteran to a test of strength to begin the match, and lost it in a matter of seconds to the unimpressed Michigan’s Favorite Son. When Duke went to lay in the Red Wing Stomp though, Saul was quick to roll away and take Duke down with a sweep kick. Andrews was quickly back to his feet, eating a kick to the stomach by Maverick who then whipped him into the ropes and met him with a scoop slam. The fans knew this was the beginning of the move he called Collision Course, and they followed each elbow drop with loud cheers. After the third, they began a “oooohhhh” chant that ended in a loud, liberatory roar after he connected the final one. A solid performance by the kid from Albuquerque, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough against a veteran like Duke. Determined to claim back his spot at the top of the company after a few subpar months. Particularly stiff in his attacks, Andrews blasted Saul with the Red White & Blue Combo, obtaining a first count of two. That final roaring elbow really did a number on the Bearded Crusader. Even after kicking out and getting to his feet, Maverick looked dazed, stumbling into the corner where he got squashed by a running clothesline. Duke continued his opera of destruction for a couple more minutes, until he decided it was time to put an end to Maverick’s valiant effort with the Andrews Effect to pick up another win. WINNER: Duke Andrews BY: Pinfall (Andrews Effect), 9:26 |
Kenzie Garrett's eyes are darkened, surrounded by thick, charcoal liner and shadow. Despite the beating sun hanging overhead in the sky, it doesn't change the perpetually contemptuous Kenzie from wearing her dark colors: black, beat up skinnies with the knees blown out, a flannel tied around the waist, and a black tanktop and Docs on her feet. Her dark hair is pin straight. She is seated on the floor, leg-over-leg, and the maligned stare is extra jarring with the corpse-like make-up adorning her face.
KENZIE GARRETT:
Desperation... makes people do crazy things.
Kenzie's lips curl into a wicked smile.
KENZIE GARRETT:
I was desperate to cut the line, so I risked my body. I've taken years off my career, I've left gallons of blood on the mat, I've superglued cuts together and stapled wounds to keep going. I've snapped my nose back into place when it was broken, stuffed a tampon in my nostril, laced up my boots and went out there the same fucking night to wrestle again. That's what makes people like me, and people like Leia LeBeau different. Her idea of desperation? It's rolling me up in Maui, grabbing my tights and the ropes, praying and running, and throwing her dumbass cunt of a sister to the wolves because when it comes to standing toe-to-toe with me? I'd eviscerate her. She watched like a bloodthirsty attendee when I did just that to Bebe in Malibu. She stood there, looking as vacant and starved for a singular thought to run through her mind as she sounds when she speaks. Because while I know thoughts are few and far between in that pretty little head... Leia knows, deep in her soul, she KNOWS that without hesitation, the second I'm given the chance? I'd rip her limbs off and beat her comatose with them, all without losing a moment of sleep at night... that's my idea of a good time.
Her pearly whites finally show. It's especially striking from behind the onyx black tinted lipstick. Her tattooed arms link under her thighs, hugging close to herself.
KENZIE GARRETT:
It's funny, I hear about how I've changed. How I've become the bad guy. But... I'm not the one out here sacrificing people I supposedly care about. I'm out here righting wrongs. I'm out here proving I'm more than the color paint of the brush stroke imposed on me. But Leia? Gracious space princess, she is not. She considers Bebe, who I'm not convinced isn't stupid to still willingly be bait for her like she's lesser than Leia, completely expendable. Leia's never been sentenced to stand across the ring from me properly like Bebe has. I know, with every beat of this beating, black heart... that Leia dreads that. She knows that only one of the two of us are gonna walk out of that situation, the other's being rolled out in a stretcher, or carried out in a bag... and I'll give you a fucking spoiler: it ain't gonna be me.
Kenzie says, matter of factly.
KENZIE GARRETT:
And now, we enter what has to be a Hell of Satan's personal design for Leia... she stands across the ring from a walking death sentence to her Intercontinental Championship reign. And there's not a damn thing she can do about it. Because, I've seen the ends that her desperation leads to. She wants to protect and prolong an uneventful title reign? Me? I want to end her. Leia is the embodiment of everything that MWE brass told me I would never have. While I was being booked to kill myself for the entertainment of people who wanted nothing more than gore? She was given opportunities that I could have, and would have killed for. She deserved none of what she was GIVEN! And yes, I meant GIVEN. She's never started from the bottom. The bottom would break someone like Leia, but I thrive there. You can't be hungry for more if you've never gone without, and you can tell someone like Leia has never gone without. And yet here I sit... empty-handed... and fucking starving.
The smile drops. Her expression is chilly and cold, despite the fiery temperatures raging outside.
KENZIE GARRETT:
Leia... your lack of ambition is going to be my feast. You've delayed fate. I'll give you that. You're not smart by any fucking means, but for better or for worse, you're a survivor. Like a cockroach...
A set of feet flank Kenzie's side. A hand reaches out, and Kenzie takes it. Lifting her to her feet is none other her friend Fable Rowen, who's MWE debut in Maui was ruined by the LeBeaus in tag team action.
KENZIE GARRETT:
That's going to end. And before you go thinking that you've got the best of me... you're not the only one around here with a sister or two.
The other side is also flanked now, this time by a taller woman. Her mid-back length hair is dyed pink. She's bustier than the collective known as BFG. Her body is more generously curved. She wears a Kenzie Garrett shirt, a pair of quite revealing shorts, and a set of beat up sneakers. By no means the most elaborate outfit, but certainly one for moving in, should the situation call for it. Her features are soft, but her expression is hardened at the camera. Kenzie's hand releases Fable's for the moment, locking with this woman at her other side.
KENZIE GARRETT:
This is my sister, Kat. She's kinda like what Bebe would be if she were competent at anything besides thirst traps; the main difference is she's not just my human shield when I know I've fucked up and I don't feel like facing the consequences of my actions. And most importantly? She's got a front row seat to watch me stomp you out and snuff out this embarrassment of an Intercontinental Championship, once and for all. Welcome to Hell, Leia. I'll be your tour guide.
We fade.
MWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Leia LeBeau © VS Kenzie GarrettAfter introducing the challenger and the champion, the ring announcer Rumchata Ayano informed everyone that, per the decision of the General Managers, Bebe Le Beau wouldn't be allowed at ringside, in any form. You could hear the Academy graduate complaining from behind one of the cameras before the feed cut to another camera, showing her handing the equipment to a colleague and head backstage, pouting and kicking the floor. When the match finally started, it saw the challenger being very aggressive right out of the gate, surprising Leia with the initial flurry of strikes. The Show cowered toward the ropes, leaning against them to interrupt the barrage of strikes. Her cautious and cowardly approach earned her some boos from the crowd, and it started frustrating Kenzie. Which, in the end, was Leia’s plan. She ducked a furious but sloppy attack from the former Chicago Way champion and caught her with a punch right between the eyes, causing her to stagger back. Then she started throwing hard kicks with those educated feet of her, and it really looked like this was going to be another successful defense in the books for the champ, especially when she doubled Garrett over with a kick to the stomach and smashed her face into the canvas with the Seattle Slutdrop. If there was one thing we learned about Kenzie, that’d be the fact that she’s damn resilient and can take a lot of punishment. She set the crowd on fire when she kicked out from the Jet City Jive (running Claymore in the corner) by putting her foot on the rope, showing great presence of mind despite the beating she took. She managed to channel that energy coming from the cheering fans to turn the tides of the match, dodging a running big boot and spiking the champ on her head with a reverse hurricanrana. The pace picked up as Kenzie began building momentum, keeping the champion on edge with a series of quick pinning predicaments. Leia tried to slow it down with her Sleepless In Seattle but Garrett broke free from the Sleeper Hold with an elbow to the face and immediately clocked her with a Pele kick for a long count of two. The final moments of the match were a rollercoaster of emotions with several close calls on both sides. Once again the boxing background came into play for LeBeau as she knocked Kenzie down with a fast punching combination before connecting her standing somersault legdrop, but it still wasn’t enough to get the win. Kenzie’s Grim Fandango, instead, was enough to keep Leia down for the three, ending an almost five months reign. WINNER: Kenzie Garrett (NEW MWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION) BY: Pinfall (Grim Fandango), 11:41 |
We are backstage here in Egypt where we find Dean Smith prepping and getting his mind right for his match later tonight. We can then hear the loud clunk of heels against the ground as we then see Karen Eldon enter the frame. A unwelcome site for most, though she is wearing a very tight fitting red dress, that is very short and very revealing. Dean looks over then appears to look for an exit route but is too late as Karen approaches.
Karen Eldon:
If it isn’t the sensible Smith sibling…Been looking all over for you and your much worse family member. I wanted to talk, might I add you are looking very dapper today?
Karen says this in a flirty tone while also invading Dean’s personal space a bit, something that appears to make him slightly uncomfortable.
Karen Eldon:
You see I was just thinking that tonight’s match, why should you and I fight? I have no issues with you, you seem like you got all the brains and looks in the family. And Bree? Well simply put I don’t like her, and I even less like the thought of her trying to get her hands on my boyfriend she has been pining over so much. I mean sure, he’d never go for her when he can have this…
Taking a step back and doing a little spin for Dean, which he watches but doesn’t seem to be falling for.
Karen Eldon:
But she shouldn’t get to even come close. So I suggest, when I am in the ring? Bree goes in, when I am out. You and Gabriel can go at it. That way we all win, what do you say? Think you can go take this to Bree, sure if anyone can talk some sense into her it’s her handsome brother.
Dean's eyebrows go up and he nods, not to agree but more because he sees what Karen's endgame is here tonight.
Dean Smith:
I definitely don't think Bree's going to go for that. When she wasn't sleeping on the flight over here, she was talking about how she would show you how good she and Gabe can work in the ring.
Karen Eldon:
Yeah, that is NOT going to happen. Either she and I fight or nothing. Deal?
Bree Smith:
What's going on?
Bree Smith then shows up enjoying a sip of her vitamin water. Dressed up in a pair of blue leggings and a top on. Her abs hidden behind the Lockdown Championship which hung on her broad hips. Her hair tied into a quick ponytail. As soon as she saw Karen a little too close to her brother, she widened her steps to get to them both quickly.
Bree Smith:
A little overdressed for our match. Are you just hanging ringside and letting Gabe go solo against Dean and I tonight?
Looking down at her dress and then back at Bree, more looking at her belt then her.
Karen Eldon:
Some of us prefer to bring some class to the events we attend. Rather then looking like you just binged Real Housewives all night in your leggings. As for Gabriel? Dean and I had come to an agreement. He will wrestle Gabriel, and I will wrestle you.
Karen says this as fact despite everyone having heard the opposite. Dean shakes his head with a classic "excuse me?" look, where Bree folds her arms and brings her feisty attitude.
Bree Smith:
Gabe and I can mix up if we want to. It's a tag team match. Or are you afraid of my big bro or something?
Dean Smith:
And we definitely didn't agree on that stipulation.
Before the current situation can escalate any further, Gabriel Landry walks into frame. He is already in his wrestling gear. His attention is locked in on Karen at first.
Gabriel Landry:
Karen I’ve been looking all over for you--
He pauses, noticing that Dean and Bree Smith are there. He once again looks at Karen, fully taking in the reality that she is wearing a very provocative dress.
Gabriel Landry:
Um... shouldn’t you be in your wrestling gear? And I hope you’re not trying to stir the pot. I’m hoping we can all be adults. Have a nice, clean wrestling match. None of this loser talk?
Suddenly looking a lot more nervous, Karen now wraps herself around Gabriel while staring back at the Smiths.
Karen Eldon:
I came back here to have a friendly conversation with Dean. Wish him luck. And Bree had to put her nose where it doesn't belong as usual. She was threatening me, glad you showed up…She looked ready to take me out before our match got started.
Gabriel rubs his forehead perplexed about what he just heard. Bree just reacts with a complete loss for words.
Gabriel Landry:
That doesn’t sound like Bree at all...
The recent Academy graduate sighs. He turns Karen around. Looking her lovingly in the eyes he continues.
Gabriel Landry:
I get it. You think Bree is trying to seduce me or whatever... we’re friends. Even if Bree felt some kinda way about me, which she doesn’t, I assure you. The only woman in the world I have eyes for is you. So...
Gabriel wraps his arms around Karen’s waist. He pulls her in, his lips press up against Karen’s, kissing her quite passionately. Dean and Bree are taken off guard by Gabriel’s unexpected display of affection. Gabriel pulls away.
Gabriel Landry:
Believe me now? Eyes only on you, ok? No one else. Let's go out there, have a good time. No shenanigans. If you’re good, well...
Gabriel winks at Karen leaving her and everyone else to fill in the blanks. Karen smirks feeling as though she somehow won the exchange because of this, despite Bree not having any intentions with Gabriel.
Karen Eldon:
See you out there…Best of luck.
Karen seems to have taken Gabriel's words in about the loser talk, at least for a split second. But as she goes to follow Gabriel she holds up a L on her forehead, showing her maturity does not match her years on the planet. As the couple exits leaving the Smiths alone.
Dean Smith:
Ok. That was weird.
Bree then turns around, she too has a flabbergasted look on her.
Bree Smith:
Yeah!
Dean Smith:
But it's not over I bet.
He says as he watches Bree look over her shoulder slowly closing her eyes.
Bree Smith:
Not by a long shot. May-bree one day but definitely not after we kick her butt.
Dean Smith:
That's the plan, Bree-Hulk. That's the plan.
He gives her that classic pat on the shoulder she always got from her big bro and the pair them exit in the opposite direction.
Tag Team Match
Bree Smith & Dean Smith VS Karen Eldon & Gabriel Landry
Chemistry was not an issue for Karen and Gabriel. Despite them not being a regular tag team, having been in a relationship for close to an year now surely strengthen their bond, allowing them to keep up against a well-oiled team like the Smiths. If anything, Gabe had some troubles keeping his girlfriend in check, especially when Karen was left in the ring with Bree and almost got their team disqualified when she refused to stop choking the Lockdown champion under her boot in the corner: Seeing how she refused to calm down and instead kept insulting the Breebarian, Landry decided to tag himself in. Karen protested, saying that she could handle “the bitch” but the tag had been made. Gabriel’s speed proved once again to be an effective weapon against the Lockdown champion, at least until she caught his crossbody attempt and tossed him halfway across the ring with a fallaway slam. Tag to Dean and Gabriel was out of the frying pan and into the fire. Dean’s strikes were hard and precise, backing the young opponent into the corner where he hit him with one of his boxing combinations. Karen stepped in illegally to help her boyfriend, who didn’t seem to appreciate the intermission. Dean obtained a near fall with his Fireman’s Carry single knee gutbuster, but Gabriel kicked out in time. When all hope seemed to be gone and Dean looked like he was ready to powerbomb Landry into oblivion, the kid managed to counter with a hurricanrana, sending the former Invictus champion hanging on the middle rope. Wasting no time, the Academy graduate took a run at the ropes on the opposite side and hit Smith with a tiger feint kick, followed by a springboard shooting star press for a two count. They went back and forth for another couple of minutes before, exhausted, they tagged their partners in. Bree dominated Karen thanks to her superior strength but the two time tag champion survived the Power Of Bree. Using her underhanded tactics, Eldon was able to catch a break and hit the blinded Bree with a standing dropkick. She fought relatively clean for a couple more minutes, only once slipping and pulling the champ’s blonde hair and getting immediately scolded by her boyfriend. He might have missed it live, but surely after seeing the replay he won’t be happy to see that Karen had pulled something from her purse and slipped it inside her knee pad, right before hitting the champion with the Can I Speak To Your Manager? to pick up a big win for her team. WINNER: Karen Eldon & Gabriel Landry BY: Pinfall (Can I Speak To Your Manager?), 10:29 |
Naama Bay, one of the most renowned beaches in Sharm El-Sheik, a dream destination for tourists from every corner of the world. But if you asked Trinity Thompson, she would want to be anywhere but here. Wearing, unwillingly, a Planet Faizah shirt, the former Academy student was walking backstage looking down, looking dejected. She didn’t even notice her girlfriend approaching from the opposite direction, bumping into the first ever Gold Star in the history of the Academy.
Tiana stopped in her tracks, staring at Trinity with expressionless eyes, taking note fully of the Planet Faizah shirt standing in complete contrast to the Chicago Fight Lab jacket she was wearing.
Tiana:
Hey, Trin… You uh…
She sighed, putting her hands on the shirt.
Tiana:
You look horrible.
Trinity Thompson:
Trust me, I feel even worse…
The new, unhentusiastic member of Planet Faizah replied with a long sigh.
Trinity Thompson:
I should probably bathe in bleach after tonight and even then I'm not sure I can get this sense of dirtness away from me…
Tiana:
Listen, Trin… Just…
She stepped forward, cupping Trinity’s cheeks in her hands.
Tiana:
Take a hit and stay down, wrap it up quick and stick it to Faizah. That, or…
A smile came to her face.
Tiana:
Tag her punk ass in, trip as you exit and take out Clyde, Milie won’t try anything cheap, leave her alone with Tiff or Addi… Better yet, leave her alone with me.
The plan elaborated by Tiana brought a smile on Trinity’s face.
Trinity Thompson:
I admit, that’s quite the solid plan. It would be amusing to see the look on her face… And quite satisfying to watch you dismantle her…
The smile faded as quickly as it appeared, accompanied by a long sigh.
Trinity Thompson:
But we both know the bitch would make my life a living hell if I pulled something like that.
The ever combative Tiana immediately replied.
Tiana Petrova-Hammond:
She only has to try, and I’ll end hers.
Trinity Thompson:
I know you would… But even if you hurt her, even if you maim her, she would still have my contract, she would still have this power over me. That’s the only reason why I didn’t kick her ass before, I didn’t want her to get revenge on my sister.
Shaking her head and clenching her fists, Tiana showed all her frustration toward this situation that seemed hopeless.
Tiana Petrova-Hammond:
I hate this. I hate that Nine gave Tiff’s contract to Faizah, I hate what she did with it, I hate what she asked you to do and I HATE that you put your career in her hands.
Trinity Thompson:
What else was I supposed to do? This is all my fault, it all started because of the shit with Nine. I put Tiff in that spot, I had to pull her out of it too. No matter how much it cost me.
Tiana just stared at her girlfriend in silence, weighing her words.
Tiana Petrova-Hammond:
Wait, do you mean…
She was cut off by Trin.
Trinity Thompson:
I found a way, that’s what matters. Sure it ain’t perfect and now I am in some deep shit, but I’ll figure a way out of it. I always do.
Finally a smile, quickly reciprocated by Tiana. Trinity leaned forward and hugged the Russian-American, indulging in a tender moment before the match.
Tiana Petrova-Hammond:
You better. I don’t like seeing you on the wrong side of the fence, and that shirt makes you look dumb.
Thompson chuckled, breaking the embrace as she slowly pulled back. She looked down at the shirt she was wearing, a disgusted expression forming on her face.
Trinity Thompson:
Yeah, the design sucks. I could probably improve it, but Faizah can get fucked… By someone else..
The joke didn’t land as she was hoping, earning her a scolding look by Tiana.
Trinity Thompson:
Oops, too soon? Anyway… I might be on the wrong side of the fence but make no mistake… They can have my body, but my heart will always be there with you.
Tiana Petrova-Hammond:
I swear to God, if you don’t stop…
Laughing, Thompson took a few steps back.
Trinity Thompson:
I kid, I kid… See you later Ti. Love you.
With that said, she turned around. The cheerful expression she had slowly began to fade with every step she took toward the Planet Faizah locker room, until she was back to the same dejected look she had before meeting Tiana.
Singles Match
"Masterclass" Faith Savell VS Lucie CallawaySurprise surprise, before the match officially started Julian Savell walked out to the ring with a microphone in hand, saying that Lucie may claim that she owns the company, but he is the one who runs it, and he lifted the briefcase to back up his statement. Faith smiled, already knowing what Julian was going to say next. He announced that, for the power conferred to him by the briefcase, the match will now be a two on one handicap match. The boos were deafening, Lucie protested that he couldn’t do that to her, but Julian just laughed at her and stepped aside to let Faith’s partner walk in. “Outlaw Man” was the theme song and everyone immediately recognized it as Jack The Outlaw Graves’ music. Things didn’t bode well for Callaway, the match she was looking forward to just turned into a trap. She still fought tooth and nail, at least in the first minutes, but the numbers game and the caliber of her opponents proved to be an obstacle too great for her to overcome. Credit where it’s due, Faith didn’t rage on her, nor she sought an easy revenge looking to put Lucie out of commission despite having the chance to do it. Instead, she ended this rather quickly, finishing her with the Lost Your Faith (curb stomp) after Jack’s Hangman’s Call. But she couldn’t pass on the opportunity to taunt Callaway by reminding her that that was her place: beneath her feet. WINNER: Faith Savell & Jack Graves BY: Pinfall (Lost Your Faith), 6:13 |
As the attention of the camera switches elsewhere, Jennifer Carter is shown standing somewhere backstage, microphone in hand.
Jennifer Carter:
Ladies and gentlemen, joining me at this time… the MWE World Champion… Lowri Moss!
The camera pans out, and the audience responds with a loud cheer as Lowri comes into view, dressed in her ring attire with the World title draped over her right shoulder.
Jennifer Carter:
Lowri, in tonight’s main event you’re going to be defending the World Championship for the first time since winning it, and you’re going to be doing so in a triple threat match, against Chris Constantine Jr. and Matt Stone, so my first question for you is simply how are you feeling right now, ahead of what is such a significant match for you?
With a smile on her face, Lowri replies.
Lowri Moss:
I’m feeling good, Jenny. I’ve been looking forward to this occasion almost since the moment that I won the title, back on the second night of the MWE Summer Beach Tour, in Maui. I found out a few weeks ago that tonight would be the night that I would be making my first defence of the World title, and now that the night has arrived, now that it’s nearly time for the match, I’m just looking forward to getting out there in the ring and chalking up a first successful defence, here in Sharm El-Sheikh.
Another loud cheer follows, although it is unclear whether that is because the fans are going to be fully behind Lowri in the main event with their support, or whether it is simply because she mentioned the location of tonight’s show. Maybe it is both.
Jennifer Carter:
As I already mentioned, you’re going to be defending your title against both Chris Constantine Jr. and Matt Stone– how do you feel about having your first defense of the World Championship be in a triple threat match?
Lowri lets out a sigh.
Lowri Moss:
It’s certainly not what I had expected, that’s for sure, not when I first looked at the card for last weekend’s show in Barcelona. I mean, I saw that there would be three qualifying matches to start the show, with the winners of those matches facing off later in the night, and with the winner of that match then getting a shot at my title here tonight, but I hadn’t expected that someone else would also be given a shot at my title.
Another, smaller sigh escapes her lips.
Lowri Moss:
C'est la vie. A month ago I stood in the ring in Cancun as the new World Champion and said that I didn’t know who my first challenger would be, but perhaps in retrospect I should have considered the possibility that I might have to face more than just one challenger, perhaps I should have said that I didn’t know who my first challenger or possibly challengers would be. And if Elsa, or Moretti, or whoever, wants me to defend the title against two opponents instead of one, then so be it.
She shrugs.
Lowri Moss:
You know, I can’t help thinking back to last year’s Dark Web, and to my first defence of the Cloud Gate title, which was also a triple threat match– although I guess that’s just a coincidence. To add to the coincidence though, Matt Stone was also one of my challengers in that match, and now here we are nearly a year and a half later, with him as one of my two opponents in another a triple threat match, in my first defence of a different title– the title.
Lowri adjusts the World Championship that is resting on her shoulder.
Lowri Moss:
A different title, but all being well, not a different result.
Jennifer Carter:
Going back to what you just said, about having only expected to have one challenger tonight, not two, do you think then that adding Chris Constantine Jr. to the match was the wrong decision?
Lowri runs a hand through her hair.
Lowri Moss:
I’m not going to tell the General Managers how to do their job, and I can kinda understand why he was added to the match, but I do think it sets a bit of a dangerous precedent. He has only had two matches after having been gone for a year and half, and of those two matches, neither of which was a singles match, he has only won one of them, having been pinned by Tiffany Lynn Page in the other one– if anything, Tiffany should feel hard done by that she isn’t also in this match.
Instead she is not even on the card.
Lowri Moss:
Love him or hate him– and I know for most people it’s the latter– I don’t think anyone can deny that Matt Stone has earned his shot, not after he came out on top in a mini-tournament featuring eight other competitors. I don’t think anyone should be given a shot at the World title though when they’ve only won one match, a trios match, in the past eighteen months, regardless of who it was that they pinned.
There is barely a pause, before Lowri continues.
Lowri Moss:
And I’m not questioning CCJ’s ability, he’s a former MWE World Champion himself, who ended the– at the time– record-setting reign of Melissa Reeves, and I know I’m going to have my work cut out for me to keep hold of my title, defending it against both him and Matt, but like I said, I don’t think he deserves this shot, I don’t think he has earned it.
Jennifer Carter:
Well, despite that, are you still confident that your first defense of the World Championship will be a successful one?
Lowri answers that with a nod of her head.
Lowri Moss:
Absolutely, Jenny. As I’ve said before, I don’t have any doubts about myself or my ability, I know what I’m capable of, I know how good I am, and it doesn’t matter whether I have one opponent, two opponents, or half a dozen opponents, tonight’s show is only going to end one way, with me raising my title above my head, still the MWE World Champion.
Jennifer Carter:
Before I let you go, there’s one other thing that I would like to ask you about, if I may.
Lowri gestures for the interviewer to proceed.
Jennifer Carter:
We’ve talked about the main event of tonight’s show, but the main event of the last show saw the culmination of this year’s Battle For The Briefcase tournament. The final of the tournament was won by Julian Savell, who is now in possession of the briefcase, and a guaranteed title match that he can cash in at any time of his choosing– are you at all concerned that he might cash in here tonight?
Lowri now gives a shake of her head.
Lowri Moss:
Not particularly. Obviously it’s something I’m aware of, something that could happen, but I can’t afford to be worrying about whether Julian is or isn’t going to cash in, tonight or any other night, in this match or in any future match– if I spend my time focusing on him instead of my scheduled opponents, then I’m liable to not be the MWE World Champion for much longer anyway, regardless of when it is that he chooses to cash in; the two people that I need to be focusing on right now, Jenny, the only two, are Matt Stone and Chris Constantine Jr.
She pauses to take a breath.
Lowri Moss:
In FGA, where I’ve been the Undisputed Champion for the better part of a year now, I’ve come to be referred to as “The Standard Bearer,” which is a tag I wouldn’t mind having here in MWE as well. Maybe tonight is the first step towards that; my first defence as MWE World Champion– it won’t be my last.
Looking full of confidence, Lowri then takes her leave, and the camera cuts away.
Trios Match
The Uncalled Four (Murder City Saints & Olly) VS Bad & Boujee & Devin Hearst
Since the very first minutes it became clear that this one had the potential of being the show stealer of the night. The Murder City Saints provided with some top notch tag team action, giving the tag champions a run for their money. It took Aliyah and Annica a while to figure out a way to counter the opponent’s overwhelming strength, but eventually they did, finding a way to use their speed and agility to turn the tides of the match in their favor. Annica’s leg -feed enziguri gave her the chance to pin RAZE, but Olly was there to break it up in one. Hearst rushed inside the ring to level the former Academy student with a clothesline, and a moment later everybody was in the ring. It took the referee a good couple of minutes to clear up the all out brawl, and as he was about to convince Aliyah to leave the ring, RAZE planted her sister with a sit-out chokebomb. Wisely, Aliyah kept the referee busy, preventing him from getting in position and buying Annica some valuable time to recover. And she still barely beat the count. When Olly and Devin met in the ring it was a true slugfest. Closed fist punches became the norm, even the referee stopped warning the two against using them, realizing it was a waste of breath. Olly’s Leap Of Faith almost gave the young man a shocking win, but Hearst placed his foot on the rope interrupting the count. The experience factor came into play and Hearst got the upper hand, kicking Olly in the stomach and connecting his Sunset Rider (pedigree). Despite the young age, the two times tag champion had the presence of mind to roll out of the ring, preventing the opponent from pinning him. The Seven Headed Beast followed him with the intention of bringing him back in the ring and finishing the job but Olly surprised him with an elbow to the side of the head. The two started brawling on the outside, the match itself stopped mattering as they focused on hurting each other. The momentum of the fight brought them through the crowd, and they showed no intention of stopping. When they disappeared from sight, the official turned to the remaining competitors and ordered that the match continued without Devin and Olly. In the end, the Murder City Saints picked up a big win thanks to RAZE’s Atomic Bomb on Aliyah, with Wade preventing Annica from saving her sister with a huge big boot. WINNER: The Uncalled Four BY: Pinfall (Atomic Bomb), 15:26 |
We open backstage where we see Matt Stone and his business advisor Nicole Rossi standing side by side in the usual interview area, but there isn’t an interviewer to be found. Apparently they can do it solo. For this big match here in Egypt, Matt is wearing an Egyptian Khat befitting of a Pharaoh, though he had the top of it open so his hair can still be seen spiked up behind the snake emblem. He’s also wearing his own Shut Me Up T-Shirt and a leopard skin cloth wrapped around his usual wrestling attire.
Matt Stone:
Tonight is the night, after years of clawing to the top I will be crowned as the Millenium World Champion!
As Matt is boasting, Nicole appears to be slightly distracted, her attention focused on her hands as she smiles looking down at the brand new display of beautiful rings. She has made sure to wear gold for this evening in support, pairing a gold mini-skirt with a black lace sleeveless blouse, all of this done to draw more attention to herself for an added bonus.
Nicole Rossi:
I still can’t believe these rings. I have the best taste!
Matt looks at her for a second, then turns back to the camera.
Matt Stone:
Yeah, you have great taste because you chose me to be your client, and I’m about to be the champion…sure would be great if we could focus on that for a second…
Nicole finally looks up from her rings as she narrows her eyes briefly, before the expression on her face changes into one much more positive, a big smile on her face.
Nicole Rossi:
Of course we can. I was just trying to enjoy my birthday afterglow a little bit longer, is that so wrong?
Matt Stone:
I’ll get you more rings than Ariana Grande once I win this title, that much I promise you but for now, Lowri and Chris want to stop me from reaching my goal that I’ve laid out for everywhere since day one. I’ve done everything else a singles wrestler can do here except win this title.
Nicole Rossi:
Well I can’t think of one single person who’s more determined than you are to get their hands on the biggest title this company has to offer.
As she is speaking, Nicole reaches out to place one hand on his shoulder.
Nicole Rossi:
In fact, I’m so confident in your abilities to get the job done here tonight, that I made sure to dress for the occasion.
Matt Stone:
Another reason not to win, I don’t want to hear about all this wasted effort!
He smirks before readdressing the camera.
Matt Stone:
But seriously, I’ve literally traveled all around the world these past few months to get to this point and while I’ve been taking out eight other competitors Chris has been on vacation and Lowri has been coasting with that title. I proved as the Intercontinental champion that I don’t rest on my laurels, I went on and won the Cloud State title as a bonus. I’m the best champion this company has seen, bar none, and it’s about time I got my hands on the top title in the company.
Nicole is nodding her head as she has moved slightly behind where Matt was standing in order to let him be center stage so that he can properly get himself pumped up for his big match.
Nicole Rossi:
Let them think it’s going to be easy here tonight against you, proving people wrong is one of the things you enjoy doing the most.
Matt Stone:
Almost as much as I enjoy holding titles over my head and it’s been a little bit since I’ve gotten that opportunity, hasn’t it?
He glances back at her, a little taken aback that she has allowed for him to have center stage. Nicole gives him another encouraging nod of her head as she claps her hands together.
Nicole Rossi:
Far too long if you ask me! The world needs a reminder of what Matt Stone the Champion can accomplish and Millenium needs a new Captain to navigate the ship.
Matt Stone:
Hopefully not a cruise ship cause this company has been on cruise control for far too long. I’m going to stand tall like the kings of old and there will be monuments built in my likeness after it’s all said and done. Go get your snacks and drinks now, we’re about to walk out there like Egyptians and take over! Then no one will be able to Shut..me…up!
Three vs Four Handicap Match
Tiff, Tiana Petrova-Hammond & Addi McKins VS Planet Faizah (Faizah Marshall, Clyde Eldon Jr. & Millie Smith) & Trinity Thompson
Trinity’s trade-in of her contract to Faizah Marshall in order to free her sister reflected on this match as well, with the two sisters switching sides. They met briefly before the match started, with Tiff telling her that she didn’t have to do it, and Trinity smiling and reassuring her with a simple “I’ll be fine.” Thompson turned around to take her place on the apron, Faizah shook her head, saying that she will be starting the match. Against her own sister. Boos rained down on the Cloud Gate champion, the only applause coming from Clyde who, obviously, praised Marshall's decision. Truth being told, he showed some support to Trin as well as she circled around her sister. The two sisters expressed several times the desire to fight, and despite the circumstances, this seemed to be their occasion to do it. Then all of a sudden Thompson turned around and swung her hand, catching Clyde with a sounding slap across the face. “Tag, you’re in”, she said in a defiant tone, getting a scowl from the leader of Planet Faizah. CEJ’s impact in this match was one he’d like to forget as soon as possible, as he was used as a heavy bag for Tiff’s kicks. Twice the FIve Foot Death Machine came close to get the win, one of which was with her trademark Death Kick. In that case, Millie was the quickest to get in the ring and make the save. Speaking of Millie, she was the next one in for her team, taking on Tiff first and Addi once the longest reigning champion in MWE history made the tag to her young partner. McKinley’s enthusiasm turned the tides of the match back in her team’s favor, but soon enough Smith took back control with a running spanish fly. The handicap wasn’t an issue for the team of Tiff, Tiana and Addi, mostly because Trinity didn’t take part in the match, casually getting distracted when one of her team members looked for a tag, or pointlessly arguing with TD, or again taking a moment to interact with the fans. Her attitude, obviously, wasn’t going to fly with Faizah who warned Trinity that she either started taking the match seriously or there would be consequences. Visibly disgruntled, Trinity entered the ring and almost immediately got the win for her team, obtaining a long count of two on Addi with a flip piledriver. When Addison kicked out, Trinity looked at the referee in shock, asking if he was sure about the call. More than a complaint, it looked like she was giving McKinley time to drag herself to the corner. Tiana took the tag and went once again back in the ring, standing in front of her girlfriend. The two just looked at each other for several seconds, none of them moving or talking. Their conversation from earlier came back in their mind, and everyone was wondering if Trinity would do as Tiana suggested and just walk out. “I’m sorry” Thompson whispered before raising her knee in Petrova-Hammond’s midsection, doubling her over and quickly nailing her with the piledriver. The fans and Tiana’s partner were shocked, and so was Trinity who couldn’t believe what she just did. She stumbled back, her eyes glued on her motionless girlfriend. Faizah had a big smile on her face as she tagged herself in, making sure Thompson knew how much she appreciated what she just did. Unlike the apology made to Tiana a minute earlier, the “Fuck you” she reserved to Faizah was heard loud and clear, and so was the impact of her boot to the Cloud Gate champion’s chin. The crowd erupted in cheers as Marshal hit the floor, doubling it down when Trinity turned around and knocked Clyde off the apron with another superkick. Thompson then turned to Millie and simply said “Don’t”, before grabbing the top rope and launching herself out of the ring to connect a spectacular slingshot dtt on TD Batterson. Inside the ring, Tiana hopped on her feet, smirking as Faizah slowly pulled herself up. The replay would then show that Trinity “protected” her girlfriend's head from the impact with the mat during the execution of the piledriver, which gave Tiana the opportunity to knock Faizah down with the Gold Star Standard (roundhouse kick) and pick up the win for her team. "Get him! GET HIM!"
There was commotion backstage, a handful of security staff members were gathered in one of the hallway, trying to separate Olly and Devin Hearst who were still fighting. They looked quite different from how we left them, Olly's hair were disheveled and stained with blood gushing from an ugly cut on his head. Hearst wasn't looking much better, his left eye was already swallowing and he had a busted nose. And still, the security had a hard time keeping them away.
Olly:
I'll fucking kill you!
Olly shouted as they finally managed to block him.
Olly:
You're done, Hearst. DONE!"
The former World champion's reply was a hysterical laugh, followed by an attempt at charging at Olly blocked by two security guards who tackled Devin down. He kicked and punched to break free but more men in black came, finally immobilizing the Seven Headed Beast.
Hearst:
Many have tried, kid. And I'm still here. You wanna come for The Man? Fucking bring it!
He didn't need to ask twice. With a mule kick that caught the unlucky guard between the legs, Olly broke free and charged toward Devin, swinging his right hand for the Leap Of Faith. But he got caught in midair by another security member, who was now holdig him in a bear hug. Olly bit his ears and once again was free to attack Devin, but neither this time he could touch the Big Boss.
Finally Moretti came to the scene, visibly pissed at this whole situation. He said that if they want to fight, he'll be happy to provide them a stage for it. In the main event of the last Summer Beach Tour show. And since they want to kill each other so badly, what's better than a Buried Alive match? Talk about a way to end the Summer with a bang!
Singles Match
Melissa Reeves VS Julian SavellOne of the most highly anticipated matches saw a former World Champion in Melissa Reeves taking on a, possibly, future World champion in the Briefcase winner Julian Savell. Accompanied, as always, by his bodyguard Rebekkah Katz, the Savior Of Wrestling looked cocky as he stepped in front of Reeves, raising his briefcase in the air almost as a reminder that he could change the match at any moment. A power that Mel, having been in that position three years ago, knew oh too well, but she didn’t let these mind games affect her, keeping her focus and sticking to the plan she elaborated to counter Julian’s offense. Moving quickly, she dodged the initial assault and cut Savell down with a hard kick behind the leg, dropping him to one knee. And speaking of knees, after a short run to the ropes she drove her right on the man’s face, knocking him down and obtaining a first near fall. Frustrated, Julian rolled out of the ring, catching an early break. Reeves kept herself away from the ropes, mindful of Julian’s tricks and not wanting to give him any advantage. Seeing that she wasn’t taking the bait, Savell went back in the ring and the match picked up once again. It was an intense fight, back and forth action between two of the top talents in the company. Reeves’ kicks were wreaking havoc in Julian’s defense, often finding their mark and leaving a big bruise on his side, one that seemed to affect Savell’s movements. Everytime he tried to throw a punch or a kick, the Savior felt a spike of pain that slowed him down, making his attacks less effective. Melissa realized and kept insisting on that spot, placing Savell in an abdominal stretch, pounding at the injured ribs with some forearm strikes. Julian’s reaction was furious. Grabbing a handful of hair, he yanked until Reeves let him go and then launched himself in a relentless flurry of punches and kicks that continued even with Mel pinned into the corner. The referee pulled them apart and warned Savell who ignored the official and connected a back elbow to the Aussie’s face. Pushing through the pain, he lifted her on the top rope and climbed up as well, looking to connect perhaps a superplex. One well aimed punch at the ribs knocked him down and then Mel soared the air with her From The Heavens, inflicting another hard blow to Julian’s ribcage. Savell refused to stay down and fought back, coming close to the win with a crescent kick. Frustrated, he left the ring and grabbed the briefcase. But he didn’t use it to change the match, opting for driving it in Mel’s face instead. The DQ was immediate but Savell didn’t seem to care. WINNER: Melissa Reeves BY: DQ, 10:29 |
The camera cuts to a previously recorded video package where we find Chris Constantine Junior sitting in a leather chair. Dressed in a business suit, Chris leans back in the chair and watches a projector screen. It’s the night when CCJ first won the MWE World Championship. The scene cuts to when CCJ first holds the title and the joy on his face. The video stops, rolls back, and then starts again when CCJ first wins the title.
The camera cuts back to CCJ as he’s hypnotized by the scene as he replays the clip again….and again….and again. And this goes on for awhile as Chris finally addresses the camera.
Chris Constantine Junior:
That used to be me. That used to be my title. For 144 days I held onto the MWE World Title. I made that title special. MWE was the talk of the wrestling world because I had people glued to that television set because of what I did in that ring and the words that came out of my mouth. For some I was the best wrestler in the world as I outsmarted everyone. For most, though, I was the most hated because I did whatever it took to be on top.
CCJ slowly gets up and walks in front of the projector that continues to play the same clip over and over again.
Chris Constantine Junior:
But then I lost the MWE World Title. I lost it in a triple threat match. I lost it because someone else got pinned and I never got a one on one rematch for the title. That was cruel and uncalled for. I guess you can say I had a second reign with Hearst, but it wasn’t the same. I had to share the limelight, and you all know that I hate sharing.
Pulling a cigar from his pocket, CCJ lights it up as he continues to address the camera.
Chris Constantine Junior:
But now…..now I have a chance to be champion once again. And after the past couple of years I’ve had, the back injury and then being locked in Shanghai because of Covid, I need some positivity in my life. I deserve it. Lowri Moss doesn’t deserve to hold that title. Who the fuck is she anyways? She can’t move the needle like I can. And Matt Stone is good, but he can’t carry a company like I can. He’s always been a bridesmaid and never the bride.
CCJ pauses as he takes a long drag from his cigar before ending the segment.
Chris Constantine Junior:
So I will use every dirty trick in the book tonight. I will cut every corner and call in every favor I have just so that I can get that MWE World Title back into my serving hands. I will be Champion. I will be champion! I WILL BE CHAMPION!
Chris walks away from the camera, leaving the image of CCJ holding the MWE World Title on the screen.
MWE World Championship Match
Triple Threat
Lowri Moss © VS Chris Constantine Jr. VS Matt StoneTriple Threat
Lowri’s first historical defense, the first on African soil, was a tricky one. Not one but two opponents, neither of them known for playing by the rules- As if facing CCJ and Matt Stone at once wasn’t stressing enough, the champ had to deal with the possibility of Julian cashing in the briefcase during or after the match. A lot of pressure on her shoulders, but Moss didn’t seem to be feeling it. Every movement, every strike was calculated, no wasted motions for the defending champion who looked in control, focusing on one opponent at a time. She was going to blast Chris with a bicycle kick but Marshal grabbed her foot and blocked the attempt. She turned around, and that gave Constantine the opportunity to strike, connecting a lariat to the back that sent her tumbling over the top rope. Stone tried to capitalize with the Stone Cutter, but it was only a count of two. Lowri seemed to have hurt her shoulder on the fall, landing hard on the apron before hitting the floor below. This gave CCJ and Matt time to showcase their personal set of talents. It really became a challenge between the two, trying to outdo and outcheat each other. Lowri’s title was in jeopardy when Chris planted Matt with the American Strong Piledriver, but the champion got back in just in time to save her reign. Even with the bad arm, Lowri still had her legs to keep her opponents in check, scoring a near fall on Chris after hitting him with the Slice Of Heaven. But that arm and shoulder were bothering her, and offered a target to her opponents. Stone was the first to capitalize on it with a shoulder breaker, followed by an armbar broken up by Constantine. The former MWE World champion, after kicking Stone out of the ring, tried to exploit the Welsh’s weakness by locking her in a shoulder lock. Lowri fought through the pain and eventually made it to her feet, reversing the hold and firing Chris into the ropes, catching him with a drop sault on the rebound. The managers outside made their presence felt, both Nicole and David found a way to get involved, distracting the referee to buy their clients some valuable time. The situation started frustrating Lowri, who asked the referee to do something about it. But there were just too many people at ringside for the referee to keep track of. Right now it was Marshall distracting the official and allowing Rosenberg to sneak a brass knuckle to his client. Chris used it to punch Lowri who was trying to break free from Matt’s dragon suplex attempt. Moss ducked and CCJ’s fist connected to Stone, knocking him down. Chris was quick to kick the champ in the gut and connected another American Strong Piledriver but the referee was still busy with Smith and didn’t start the count immediately. When he finally turned around and started to count, Lowri had enough time to recover and raise her shoulder in two. Constantine was livid, protesting with the official and leaving himself open to a quick roll-up from the champion. The count reached three and the fans exploded in a liberatory roar. The title reign was safe. For now. WINNER: Lowri Moss (STILL MWE WORLD CHAMPION) BY: Pinfall (Roll-Up), 16:09 |
