Gimmick
Spiritual - Honoring the spirits in all things, Rie seeks to strengthen her connection to the departed by gaining victory in their name. Thanks to this, Rie believes she is blessed and granted boons by those departed.
Strengths
1. Ground Knowledge Base - The book in Rie’s brain of what to do on the ground is impressive, she’s very well taught. She can pull moves out of a hat, always ready with something new to try and twist an arm or leg with. Maybe the ghosts taught her this…?
2. Wild Unpredictability - When Rie’s on her feet and fighting it’s hard for most to tell what her next move is, her chaotic style letting her keep an unfamiliar-with-it opponent off balance mentally and use it to her advantage.
3. Kato’s Guidance - Her spiritual advisor is an invaluable help to her, Kato is always watching and taking mental notes, ready to shout out ideas and warnings that Rie is ready to move on. Without him she’d be missing a chunk of her awareness in the ring.
Weaknesses
1. What To Expect - Rie is lacking in both standing grappling prowess and power moves (not that they’d help her with how small she is), meaning that people going into a match with her know what is coming. More often than not she’s going to come at them on her feet, looking to knock them down so she can work her limb game. Having just one gameplan for a match means that those coming to face you can be planning counters to that plan long in advance of facing her.
2. Striker > Wild - Rie’s wild attack style can do well against people not familiar with trading hands, but someone with actual striking experience can start to predict her next move and become a big difficult ordeal for her.
3. Stay Down - Owing to her belief that she’s honoring the departed with her actions in the ring, it’s bred a very stupid thing in her brain where she keeps trying to get up even after things have gone to shit for her. This would be brave or courageous or fighting spirit of her if it wasn’t so stupid, as it just means she’s liable to get really hurt.

CHARACTER HISTORY/BIO
“The dead are all around us, in all things.”
This is what Rie Shimizu believes. That the dead are not gone, but hanging around all of us, unseen to our living eyes, still able to effect and shape our lives if they wished. Fascinated with this realm just beyond our sight, she tries to keep the departed interested and involved in our world, speaking to them and thanking them. How wrestling relates to those beliefs is...sketchy, likely owing to the presence of Homare Kato. A man who suffered a near death experience (allegedly), his is the guiding hand that eventually saw Rie debut as a pro wrestler. Honoring the dead around her, Rie just wants to succeed so they can know that despite being departed, they are still known and loved.
