The Gym May 4th, 2022 5:34 PM
It was post-training session, the staff had all got up and left and the lights were beginning to dim. As the camera pulled around, looking at the dimming lights in the Academy, in the closing days of season two, it focused on one individual who hadn’t been on television in recent weeks. A woman who had been massively popular in the early days of the newest class, but had been becoming more and more reclusive over the past few weeks. But they were here now, but packing their bags, tears running down their eyes.
Bebe LeBeau: What am I supposed to do now?
Came the voice of Bebe LeBeau, sitting there on one of the bleachers of the gym, head in her hands, her hair rocking to and fro in pigtails.
Bebe LeBeau: Academy is closing, I moved all my things here. I did everything I could and… Oh God, Bebe… You were supposed to break out here, be a big star. Do what Leia did, come from nothing and just be awesome in every way.
The younger sister of the reigning Intercontinental Champion was a shell of the cool, cocky and confident woman who had entered the Academy all those months ago. Most trainees had come into their own, growing more confident in themselves and their abilities under the guidance of the expert coaches. But Bebe was different, and the recent ridicule from Shania and Walker, and THAT video blog that had been posted online had a massively detrimental effect on the young LeBeau.
Bebe LeBeau: Why can she pass off these comments? People say crap about her all the time, and she just doesn’t care. It doesn’t matter to her. Why do I take it like that?
She was completely breaking down, and it wasn’t all too clear whether she was talking to the camera, talking to herself or talking to someone else. She lifted her head up, her makeup all smudged and her nose running, looking completely defeated as she sobbed.
Bebe LeBeau: I love MWE… I love filming them, taking photos for them, doing press conferences. So, so I thought trying to become one of the roster would be fun. It’s not the wins and losses that matter. It’s just the… constant… insults.
She said with a shrug, a tissue being handed to her from off camera by a large hand. It was now obvious that someone was there, and listening to her, which seemed a surprise with how reclusive she had become lately.
Bebe LeBeau: The two of them are constantly insulting me. Always. Every day. Non-stop. I try a new move and they giggle. I try to speak to someone, and they laugh. I go to catering and grab a slice of pizza and… and… I REALLY LOVE THE PIZZA AND THEY RIDICULE ME FOR IT!!! They say I’m getting fat!
Whoever they were speaking too seemed to growl in anger at that comment, a reassuring hand appearing that rested on Bebe’s shoulder. It seemed to calm the young Seattle girl somewhat, and she gazed up to the ceiling
Bebe LeBeau: Then that video they posted online keeps appearing. Their fans keep linking me to it on social, and whenever I block them, a new account just crops up tagging me again… I can’t take anymore of it. That’s why I’ve not even been going on Twitter lately. It’s just full of hate. I was even told that I might… MIGHT have a match at Bound For Greatness, that I might finally have a match on pay per view, which is an absolute dream of mine. But it might be against them, or one of them, but if there is one of them it will be both of them. I can’t even face seeing them, never mind competing against them… I can’t even say their names without tearing up!
She whimpered slightly, rubbing her nose as she turned to whoever was with her, those big eyes of hers growing larger as they welled up, staring hopelessly at the person to her left.
Bebe LeBeau: And if it is a tag match, who would wanna tag with me when I’m like this? I’m useless.
As the camera pulled back, it was revealed that it was the former Gold Star, Jasper King, who had been sitting there listening to Bebe sob. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, then nodded to her, standing up as he offered his hand.
Jasper King: Let me talk to the coaches. If this match is made and it’s a tag match, then I’ll be your partner.
Bebe LeBeau: W-what? R-really? You’d team with me?
Bebe looked absolutely stunned, covering her mouth with her hand, taken aback by Jasper’s kind gesture.
Jasper King: Yeah, I will Bebe. I always considered Walker as a friend, I still do... But even I can see that he's changed, sometimes he acts like a bit of a jerk. I'm not ok with what they've done to you, and I guess that it's time I, as a friend,I nudge him back on track.
Bebe immediately jumped to her feet, diving on Jasper with a giant tackle hug that almost knocked the big man over, as she repeatedly screaming out “thank you, thank you, thank you”. The camera then cut away. Was this match going to happen at Bound For Greatness?
Team Title Match 6v6 Elimination Match Team Noir © VS Team Strike
- Coming full circle with the first show, all twelve students were in the ring for the final match of the second year of the Academy. But not everything was like that first show. Back then, it was a battle royale with the Gold Star on the line, while this time a six vs six elimination tag match for the Team title currently held by Team Noir. The first ever Gold Star Jasper King started off against Devin Levandrier. The King Of Pumpkins was relentless in his offense, chopping the Canadian all the way back into the corner where he folded him in two with some shoulder tackles to the stomach. Walker tagged himself in and and jumped in the ring with a slingshot corner dropkick to the seating opponent.
- The New Yorker's ability was out of discussion, but it came with a cocky attitude and a tendency to get distracted and flex for the camera and for Shaina. One of these situations almost cost him an elimination as Devin caught him with a cradle, but Walker kicked out in time. As both of them made it to their feet, The NY Ranger immediately took revenge, blasting Levandrier with a superkick to the mush that knocked him down for the three. (Devin Levandrier eliminated)
- Without hesitation, Addison McKinley entered the ring. At ringside, Lady Magdalena nodded in approval, a slight smile appearing on her face appreciating the former Gold Star stepping up and carrying her team on her own shoulders. Walker never knew what hit him, a fast and furious combination of kicks and punches that knocked the young man down. McKinley hooked the leg for the cover but Shaina entered the ring and saved her boyfriend.
- After a tag, Sheirdan entered the ring legally and tried to turn the tides back in Team Noir's favor. Her attacks created some problem to the former Gold Star, but a two count off a DDT was as close as Shaina got to eliminate Addi. Speaking of DDTs, Addison's diving tornado one, a sort of trademark for the Captain, was the end of the Videoblogger match. (Shaina Sheridan eliminated)
- Both Luis and Gabriel entered the ring at the same time to take on Addison. The referee obviously stopped them and told them to come to an agreement on who should leave the ring but neither of them was willing to step back. McKinley made the decision for them, surprising Rivera with a quick cradle and almost scoring the three that would have avenged that 42 seconds loss and ended Luis' streak, but the Californian kicked out at the very last moment.
- Addison displayed a marked aggression toward the San Diego native, coming at him with stiff kicks. Luis represented the one blemish on her almost perfect year, pinning him tonight would give her that closure right before graduation. But Rivera's quickness on the feet kept him out of trouble, allowing him to dodge most of her attacks which, in turn, seemed to increase Addi's frustration. Luis struck her from out of nowhere with his right hook, knocking her down. He made the cover but Emma rushed in and saved the Gold Star.
- After a double tag, Emma and Gabriel met inside the ring. The newly crowned Gold Star was in great shape, flying all across the ring and impressing with his speed and agility. Wakefield didn't really have any chance to shine and show her ability, overwhelmed by Landry's unpredictable style of offense. She barely survived his backslide driver, and possibly hurt her previously injured shoulder on the bad landing. When the referee went to check on her, she immediately told him that she was fine and slowly tried to stand up to her feet. In the meantime, Erika Eldon pulled Gabriel's arm forcing him to turn aroun, into a brutal kick to the head by Rainer Nordhagen. Stunned, Gabriel stumbled back toward the middle of the ring where an unaware Emma Wakefield caught him with a codebreaker. (Gabriel Landry eliminated)
- Gabe was livid, and it took his best friend's best effort to calm him down. Jasper was back in the ring, Wakefield charged at him but he slammed her down with a big Samoan Drop. He didn't attempt a cover, but pointed his finger toward Rainer, calling him out. The "Rain Man", as King called him, accepted the challenge and stepped in but a volley of heavy chops to the chest quickly changed his mind. He fell back on his rear to dodge another chop by King and crawled back into his corner where he tagged Erika in.
- The duaghter of Karen Eldon surprised Jasper and the trainers with a quick series of kicks to the legs, managing to cut the big man down to one knee and shoot a superkick to his face. She hooked the leg and made the cover but Jasper kicked out in two. Erika tried to keep the momentum going but her running crossbody attempt was blocked by the first Gold Star who then drove her into the canvas. King doubled down with a running senton and picked up the elimination. (Erika Eldon eliminated)
- Evelyn Carter was the next in, and for the first time we saw actual tag action as she worked together with Emma Wakefield to wear down the stronger but slower opponent. Jasper was in dire need to make the tag, but he simply couldn't find an opening. Eventually Vi was the one getting the decisive pinfall with a beuatiful moonsault from the top rope. (Jasper King eliminated)
- Things weren't looking good for Team Noir, down a man and with the arguably best players eliminated. Bebe LeBeau stepped to the plate and almost evened the score right away with a sunset flip, but Evelyn saved herself. Carter then made the tag to a reluctant Rainer Nordhagen who saw welcomed by a leaping knee from Bebe who earned the former phoographer a count of two. The close call flicked the switch inside the German-Australian who dropped the apathetic attitude and began putting effort in this. The tides quickly changed and Nordhagen almost eliminated Bebe with a falcon arrow. Only a prompt intervention by Luis saved LeBeau.
- Walker's springboard enziguri almost gave him the three count, but on the following exchange, Rainer clocked the New York native with a roaring elbow and floored him with his running knee. With a two men advatage, the match seemed to be downhill for Team Strike (Walker eliminated)
- For Luis Rivera there was more than just the team title at stake. Since joining the Academy, the former boxer proud himself of his undefeated streak. Keeping it go was his priority even though it meant putting aside his work-in-progress wrestling skills reverting back to his boxing background. And that approach paid off big time as he quickly scored an elimination on Evelyn Carter with his devastating right hook. (Evelyn Carter eliminated)
- Once again the California Kid squared off against the Khalessi. Addison came close to the win several times, really putting Luis to the grinder. Rivera took a lot of punishment and needed Bebe to save him in a couple of occasions, but as soon as McKinley left him the slightest opening, he struck with that vicious right hand of his and put the former Gold Star down (Addison McKinley eliminated).
- And just like that, we were down to two competitors to each team. Exhausted, Luis tagged himself out and let Bebe take care of business. A roundhouse kick from LeBeau almost took Emma's head off but the younger sister of the fashion designed Hollly Wakefield raised her shoulder in time. She retured the courtesy with a roundhouse of her own but Bebe rested her leg on the bottom rope.
- Emma made the tag to Rainer, Bebe would have gladly done the same but her partner was still needing some time. She went back and forth against Rainer, fighting back shot for shot in what would be remembered as a gutsy performance and, by far, her best showing of the year. Nordhagen came out on top and tried to lift her for a brainbuster but Bebe countered it with a cradle. One millisecond before the three Rainer was able to roll through and reverse the pin, but another counter from LeBeau pinned his shoulders to the mat. Once again he managed to shift position, the referee counted the one, two and three and he celebrated the elimination. The look on his face changed as the referee told him that since his shoulders were touching the mat as well, both of them are out. (Bebe LeBeau and Rainer Nordhagen have been eliminated).
- It all went down to Luis and Emma. Perhaps not the two anyone would've guessed before the match but they proved throughout the match that they deserved it with solid performances. And despite some understandable fatigue, these last minutes didn't lack intensity and emotions as both of them did their best to win. Emma came really close to it with a shining wizard, Luis had his chance with a suplex lift into a backbreaker. But in the end, it was once again the right hook that claimed another victim. Luis Rivera stood tall at the end of the final match of Year Two, saving his undefeated streak and kept the Team title in team Noir's possession.
