2x23 ALONG THE GREAT DIVIDE
The Gym

Back in the work out area we go to find Erika Eldon having worked up a bit of a sweat. However it’s not clear if it’s from working out or how intently she is staring at Rainer Nordhagen as he curls a few feet away from her. Finishing up a set he drops the weights letting out a big breath. Looking Erika’s way as he takes out his ear buds realizing she is staring, it takes a moment for her to snap out of her trance.
Erika Eldon:
Oh hey! You um, you sure can lift a lot. It is kind of weird you are teaming with Luis this week…That is sort of like our thing…
Despite having a Gold Star match on the bill it seems Erika’s near obsession with Rainer, has her more worried about him finding a new partner. Rainer rolls his eyes, snapping the case of his AirPods shut as he sits on the bench.
Rainer Nordhagen:
No one’s as pissed off with this ‘team’ as me, Erika. I can promise you that. This guy just waltzes into The Academy like...right at the end and thinks he runs it? And why, because he left Addi in a pool of her own drool? It’s a god damn joke, Erika, and trust me - he is NOT a part of Team Rainer. You’re irreplaceable!
After the venomous vitriol escaped his lips, his words seemed to turn from the most bitter of poisons to the sweetest of honeys as he finishes with a compliment aimed towards Erika. He extends an arm, wrapping it around the small of Erika’s back, drawing her in close to him.
Rainer Nordhagen:
But don’t worry about my complete loser of a teammate. This is a special show - finally the Gold Star will be back with Team Rainer. That’s what you need to focus on, babe.
Erika Eldon:
I never thought I'd have a chance at the Gold Star, I mean you should still have it. But I can win and bring it back to Team Rainer!
Tucked in close to Rainer she looks into his eyes, seemingly lost in them. He flashes a perfect white smile before he begins to gesticulate with his free hand.
Rainer Nordhagen:
You know, as far as I’m concerned, when you have the Gold Star it’ll be like I have the Gold Star. That’s how closely knit Team Rainer is! When you win, I’m sure you’ll be a great Gold Star. You are going to make some great decisions.
Erika Eldon:
What you mean?
Rainer Nordgagen:
Let's talk in my room.
Seeming confused but interested to hear his idea, Erika follows Rainer to his room.

Addison:
I know, Sean, I’m just so fucking tired…
The camera zooms its way around, finding the Gold Star kicked back on one of the benches, using her gym bag to rest her head on. She was drenched in sweat, having just finished another workout, and the cooling air wasn’t doing her much good.
Addison McKinley:
I haven’t had a day off in… Yeah, no, I don’t care about how you wrestled however many days straight, we’re talking about me.
With a sigh, she dangled her arm away from her body, lounging even more lazily.
Addison McKinley:
What do you mean I shouldn’t have run my mouth? You’re the one that told me to stand up for myself, then when I finally do it’s a great big problem. No, I’m gonna keep bitching until I receive some apologies for this horri…. I DON’T CARE ABOUT ERIKA EITHER, SEAN. Rainer couldn’t get it done and I’m supposed to worry about his cheerleader? Puh-lease.
She scoffed while kicking her shoes off, stretching out even more.
Addison McKinley:
Every time I talk to you, you go on about “all it takes is three seconds”. I know, Sean, I’m not fucking stupid. You’re really frustrating. What the hell do you mean I need to grow up? What do you want me to say, Sean? Oooo, Erikaaa, so scary. You know what, I’m almost at the point where I don’t want to talk to you anymore.
She dug into the pocket of her bag, pulling out a Twix bar. She fiddled with the wrapper while giving vague mhmm’s in response on the phone, but a yawn overtook her priorities.
Addison McKinley:
Does it really matter? I’m basically the GOAT of the Academy. What’s Erika to me? Or Rainer? Or Luis? Or…who else is even here that matters? Nobody here could do what I’ve done, this bullshit punishment would have broken any of them day damn one, but it’s way too fun embarrassing them on the weekly… What do you mean? I can’t beat Luis? What, because he got lucky as shit? Oh fu-...
She held the phone away from her ear, the staticy yelling of her original trainer not quite clear enough to make out, but Addi’s eyeroll was enough to make her thoughts known.
Addison McKinley:
I JUST GOT DONE MY WORKOUT YOU FUCKING LOUD ASS! I put the work in! I’ll fuck Erika up, I’ll fuck up whoever is next to, AND NOT BECAUSE OF YOU! What good are YOU? And no, I’m not gonna talk to Sky, or Peyton, and I sure as shit have nothing else to say to you until you get in line and apologize with the rest of them.
She quickly ended the call and turned the phone off. With a huff, she retrieved the Twix that had come to rest on her chest, finishing with undoing the wrapper and took a big bite. She glanced around until she found the camera watching her, holding up a single finger as the feed went blank.
Four Way Tag Team Match Rainer Nordhagen & Luis Rivera VS Emma Wakefield & Gabriel Landry VS Shaina Sheridan & Jasper King VS Bebe LeBeau & Evelyn Carter
- This match was bound to be chaotic, and it lived it up since the very beginning. It was hard to get eight eager young men to agree on who should start this one, especially with all the tension between the students, even teammates in Ranier and Luis' case. As often happens, a big brawl was what was needed to settle the dispute. At the end of it, Jasper and Rainer where the only two left standing in the ring. The German Austrralian didn't want to have anything to do with the King Of Pumpkins and just used his speed to stay out of King's reach, giving the tag to Luis at the first chance.
- Way faster than the opponnet, the former boxer managed to connect a few punches to the young man's body, though Jasper seemed to absorb them quite well. His technique may not be as clean as Luis', but Jasper possessed a mean right of his own and he knocked Rivera down with it. With a running senton, Jas made the cover but Carter was quick to make the save.
- Rivera tagged himself out, leaving the stage to Bebe LeBeau. Jasper welcomed her with a smile, reciprocated by Bebe. But after the that the pleasantries were over and King immediately charged with a clothesline, ducked by Bebe who continued her run to the ropes, coming back at full speed to deliver a forearm smash to Jasper's face, barely affecting him. She hit the ropes once again, this time using her whole bodyweight in an attempt to take the big man down. Jasper caught her in his arms off the crossbody attempt and drove her down onto his knee.
- Bebe made the tag to her partner Evelyn who, with a jumping knee strike, caused King to stumble back toward the ropes. Gabriel tagged himself in and entered the ring with a springboard clothesline that flattened Carter.
- Vi and Gabe went back and forth for a good couple of minutes, aweing the fans with a high-octane exchange. Surprisingly, it was Carter who landed the final blow, a springboard enziguri that knocked Landry down. Evelyn made the cover after a standing moonsault but Emma broke it up.
- Emma was in next, figthing Evelyn at first and Shaina after Carter made the tag to the Videoblogger. Wakefied's superkick caught Sheridan right in the mush, but it wasn't enough to keep her down for the three. Shaina came close to the three with a snap DDT, but in that case it was Luis who interrupted the count.
- Nordhagen was back in the ring, fighting off against Sheridan. He hit her with his patented running knee, but the young girl wisely rolled out of the way before he could make the pin. Rainer chased her on the outside but Jasper stood in his way. Luis joined Nordhagen and the two told the first ever Gold Star to get out of the way. Not only did Jasper stand still, but he was also joined by his friend Gabriel Landry who wasn't letting the chance to oppose Rainer go to waste. Unsurprisingly, this lead to the four of them throwing hands, despite the ref's attempt at defusing the tension. Bebe took advantage of the chaos to sneak in a kick to Shaina.
- Emma and Evelyn somehow managed to restore order and bring everyone back to their senses. As the fight went on, Shaina managed to find an opening and make the tag to Gabriel.
- Landry hit his rival with a running single leg dropkick but couldn't keep him down for the three. Gabe connected a supex lifted double knee gutbuster but Gabriel kicked out in time. The two fought hard for a little while, stiff strikes to confirm that Gabriel's win back at Dark Web IV wasn't the end of this rivalry between the two. Back and forth they went, trading hard blows until simultaneous bicycle kicks knocked them both down.
- Slowly they crawled to the nearest corners, Rainer making the tag to Luis and Gabriel to Sheridan. Shaina tried to use her speed to duck his punches, and almost got him with a quick roll-up. But eventually, like many before her, she fell victim of Lucho's terrific right hook. Rainer took Evelyn and Emma down with a double clothesline, blocking their attempts to break it up. Jasper got there, but he was one fractioin of second too late.

Gold Star Match

- Fifth defese for Addison McKinley, this time against Erika Eldon. During this past week we saw how the constant pressure the champ has been dealing with seemed to start taking its toll, but all that disappeared as the bell sounded. Addi switched back to her usual focused self, immediately seizing control of the match and trapping Erika in the corner where she could hit her with a flurry of knee strikes to the midsection.
- With an Irish whip, she launched Eldon to the opposite corner. Erika was quick to step out of the way and dodge the running back elbow. Addi ended up back first against the turnbuckle and got dropkicked in the face by Erika who then attempted a quick cover for just a count of one.
- McKinley's kicks proved to be quite the effective weapon against Erika, unable to block those swift and precise strikes. She soon found herself staring at the lights while Addi sprinted toward the ropes to bounce back with a springboard moonsault. Eldon kicked out in two.
- The Gold Star came once again close to the win with a nicely executed shiranui, but somehow Eldon saved herself.
- A lapse in concentration allowed Erika to catch Addi with a jawbreaker. The challenger stomped the hell out of the champion forcing her to roll out of the way and under the bottom rope. As she was laying on the apron, Eldon bounced off the ropes and hit her with a baseball slide, knocking her on the floor below.
- The fight continued on the outside, giving flashbacks of Addi's match against Gabriel Landry. But unlike that time, both made it back inside the ring in time, and the match continued. Erika kicked the champ in the gut and dropped her with a neckbreaker, but it wasn't enough to take the title from her.
- Eldon stayed on the attack with a flurry of knee strikes and punches, leaving Addison groggy in the middle of the ring. Erika went for that running knee strike she learned from her boyfriend Rainer but missed the target as the champion dodged it at the vary last moment. She jumped with her knees on Erika's back and connected a backstabber, turning the tides once again.
- It was all smooth sails from that moment on for Addison. With moves like a hurricanrana driver and a handspring cutter she paved the way to the grand finale. A diving tornado DDT with which she took Erika down, scoring her defense number 5. Or, as she would say, 4.5.
WINNER: Addison McKinley (STILL GOLD STAR)
