Riot in Iowa
Live from Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, IO
Sunday, April 10th, 2022
Everything comes into focus and we are taken to the backstage area. It is there where we are able to see Crystal Zdunich. She is locked in a trance as her eyes meet with the camera. She takes a long deep breath as she begins to speak.
Crystal Zdunich:
It has been a while hasn’t it MWE?! To be honest I know I haven’t done my best at standing in front of you all and sharing my heart. I am here to personally tell all of you that will officially change.
Crystal grins as she continues to speak more.
Crystal Zdunich:
I am tired of wrestling and not really doing my best. I started to go downward when I lost that match last year and I was told I couldn’t challenge for the Cloud Gate Championship for a year. Things have been going downwards ever since and I know for a fact that I can do so much better than that!
Crystal nods her head looking deeper into the camera.
Crystal Zdunich:
After all I am Crystal fucking Hilton. I am among one of the best wrestlers on the planet and I won’t let my current circumstance and situation have an impact on what I could be going forward. I know the road to climb upwards is a tough one but I will go up from here on. Honestly it is the only place that I can really go from this point. I will bust my ass and all of you will see exactly what it is that I bring to the table.
Crystal offers a grin as she speaks more.
Crystal Zdunich:
Tonight starts the road to redemption and I know I can a tall Valkryie standing in front of me. I know she is tough and she can definitely pick me a part if she really wanted too. I won’t let that be the case. I will find my way up. I will find a way to persevere. Everybody will see how serious I can be and why this is the rose that refuses to wither away. Watch out world because tonight’s effort is only the beginning of what can be expected going forward.
With that Crystal just smiles as she seems super focused for whats to happen shortly

Alan Envy is sitting in his study looking down at his Bible reading through his daily scripture passage. With a smile on his face he places his bookmark in place and closes the door.
Alan Envy:
This book is so much of a better read than looking on your Twitter timeline and reading Karen Elder, Olly, and Moretti filling it up with their boring typical tweets of excuses and self hype. Seriously you all need to find Jesus….but I am not here to preach to you all. I invited you into my home to make a declaration of intent….
Envy stands up and slips the Book into his top desk drawer. He then walks over to a door and opens the door pulling out a long black leather jacket and putting it on.
Alan Envy:
One of my favorite musicians of all time is Johnny Cash, the man in black, a true legend not only in music but in American culture. A man that as he got older became better and better. He produced his best albums as he got older. Hell his last album won a Grammy. That's how good he was. I stand before you today at 37 years old….and for a man that has been in this wrestling business since I was 15 that's old in wrestling years. I wake up feeling 60. It takes a while for the old muscles in the legs to stop throbbing. Or the twang in my neck from stinging, hell sometimes I wake up with my left shoulder out of place.
Envy walks over to his bookcase and grabs a glass and a bottle filled with whiskey. He pours him a a glass and takes a sip.
Alan Envy:
I look at myself as the old troubadour now….I am not declaring the intent to retire though. I still love this business. I still put in my gym time, I still put on great wrestling matches and you fans still embrace me as one of the best! My declaration of intent is that I intend to get better with age. My best work is coming. Because from here on out I am going to do what I have done everywhere I have been…win titles, cash checks, and leave it all in the ring. Millennium Wrestling needs a little boost. Millennium Wrestling needs a little more violence and southern attitude and less Karen Elder and Olly. Less Seth Iser depressing the world by opening his mouth. What they need is Alan Envy, and his boys back to do what we do best.
Envy finishes off his drink.
Alan Envy:
The greatest aspect of the Christian faith is how as long as you admit to be a sinner you will be forgiven and take your place in the kingdom of heaven. That's good to know, because fro here on out I'll keep Jesus in my heart…but inside that ring, God is sitting this one out.

We cut backstage near the ready area. It is there that we find the menacing, intimidating figure of “The Assassin” Clyde Sutter. The reigning MWE MENTV Champion is dressed in his all black ring gear and black trenchcoat. Sunglasses cover his eyes and he has the MWE MENTV Championship title belt wrapped around his waist. A sinister grin is upon his face.
Clyde Sutter:
The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts they alter the facts to fit their views. When it comes to…what’s that kid’s name again? Olly, right?
Sutter chuckles.
Clyde Sutter:
When it comes to Olly, he sure as hell isn’t very powerful. He needs a whore to hold his hand. He has needed that whore to hold his hand throughout his enter career. So is he very powerful? No, he is not. But he is very stupid. For one, he has deluded himself into believing that he is the MWE MENTV Champion.
The Assassin pats the title belt that is around his waist.
Clyde Sutter:
If you were champion, then why don’t you have this? You can pull the chicken shit argument and blame Morretti, blame Elsa, blame Grace, blame the network, blame everyone except the one person you should truly blame for your failure…and that is yourself. You just could not get the job done. Hell, Morretti was even willing to give you another opportunity but you screwed that one up too. What you need to realize is the same thing Glory Braddock, Kate Steele, Devin Slaytor, Dean Smith, and so many others before you have come to realize; this championship is mine and it will stay mine until I decide to relinquish it.
Sutter shakes his head.
Clyde Sutter:
But that isn’t the only reason why you are very stupid. You are also very stupid because you foolishly believe that you can defeat time. Understand, Olly, that no one can defeat time. Time answers to no one. Time is the ultimate equalizer, it does not discriminate and it does not play favorites. Everyone has an appointed time when they will meet their end. If you truly think you are special then yes, you are very stupid. That is why I did not address you on social media. Do I look like the kind of man who needs to address your childishness on social media? Do I look like the kind of man who needs to take a fool like you seriously? You are not special, Olly. You are nothing to me. So why waste my time exchanging words with you on social media? Children like you feel the need to play keyboard warrior because you are compensating for your lack of toughness, your lack of intelligence, your lack of manhood. But someone like me? I have bigger fish to fry, I have grander plans to formulate and plot out. I do not have the time to waste with you.
The Assassin grins knowingly.
Clyde Sutter:
But don’t worry, Olly, you will see me again…because just like everyone else, your time will come. You will meet your end. When fate deems it necessary that you be mercifully eradicated from professional wrestling, then I will be at your front door to put you out of your misery. You won’t know when it will come or where, but it will come. Your end will come, because time answers to no one, not even a loud mouth child like you.
Sutter sighs deeply.
Clyde Sutter:
Now to focus on the victim for this evening, the individual who fate has determined to meet her maker. Of course I am referring to Siobhan Mahoney.
The Assassin chuckles.
Clyde Sutter:
Ms. Mahoney, I hope you were paying very close attention to my words this evening, because these words can be applied to you. Do not begin to believe that you are special in any way just simply because you have an opportunity to become a champion. As you will learn very quickly, this is not an opportunity. This is your date with fate itself. This is your date with doom. Ms. Mahoney, your fight isn’t just against me. Your fight is against time itself and if you were paying close attention, as you should have been, then you will know that you cannot fight time. The only reason you even have this title match tonight is because your time is up. Tick, tock…

After that mad MENTV title match, we're backstage with Abby Blake. As we know she's not booked but she made the trip to
Abby Blake:
Hey, Everyone watching. Who's that Girl, it's Abby!
She clicked her tongue with a large smile on her face.
Abby Blake:
I know some fans still see me as the new girl on the roster. I wasted no time in getting that feeling of what it's like to hang with the Riot Champion. One day I'd like to know what it's like to take on the Riot Champion but I'm definitely getting ahead of myself. Hold up keyboard warriors, I'm not jumping the line.
Abby Blake:
I'm here because I really want to rectify one loss that happened a few weeks ago. I'm going to call out the IT girl who knows what it's like to be fighting for the Riot Championship. Luna the Star. How's about it?
Abby Blake:
I did defeat your bodyguard. Yes he ambushed me after, so think of this challenge as me zagging. West Long's a pretty big guy and I don't exactly have a step ladder I can use, set up and hit him from behind. Instead I'll go after Luna and you can watch from right back here
Abby clicks her fingers. The lights go up and reveal a lime green room. Oversized M&Ms in a bowl, an XXL recliner chair, several bowls of different nuts, a sealed 18 pack of water bottles and a TV positioned on the wall.
Abby Blake:
You stay back here because I want it to be West Long is banned from ringside. We'll see how your Princess under your protection handles the pressure without you. What do we say Millennium?
Abby then listens out for the live crowd who give the idea of a rematch a decent pop. Abby goes all happy and helps herself to a few nuts. She slides onto the big chair and figured she'd watch some tag team action from here. The camera slowly zooming in on the TV and transitions back to the hard cam in the arena.
Pre-recorded…
Voiceover/Narrator:
The following has been paid for by Collins Incorporated, reminding you to be absolutely FABULOUS!
Gold sparkles rain down from the heavens as a lovely soothing piano chord starts to play in the background. The scene opens in a luxurious living room area, specifically in front of an expensive marble fireplace. Summer Collins enters from stage right, dressed in a tight, form fitting forest green cocktail dress. Her best friend and tag team partner, “The Archangel” Jessica Lasiewicz, enters the scene from stage left. She is wearing a tight, form fitting red cocktail dress. The Fabulous duo have confident smirks upon their faces.
Summer Collins:
You know something, Jess? That dress really does suit you. You look drop dead gorgeous. But…
Jessica Lasiewicz:
...but what?
Summer Collins:
...your hair. It’s still blue. I mean, I understood it during the NCAA Tournament but now that the tournament is over, shouldn’t you go back to blonde? Or pink? Hell, you could go ginger again.
The Archangel shakes her head.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
No way. I’m kinda getting used to the Duke blue hair. You know what else I’m getting used to? Kicking the asses of every other tag team in MWE. Now I know we’ve only had one tag team match together recently, but it was against the reigning champs. It was against little Tiff and Megs, and we beat their asses. We reminded them and everyone else in the tag team division that we are still the standard when it comes to tag team wrestling. So yes, I am getting used to dominating the tag team division again.
Summer Collins:
I agree, and the rest of the tag teams in MWE should get used to it as well, because that one match isn’t the end. It is just the beginning. There are so many little people out there trying to make a name for themselves in the tag team division. Faizah thinks that she can just randomly form a tag team with Millie, because it’s not a marathon, it’s a sprint.
Collins chuckles.
Summer Collins:
Sorry, babe, but you two already lost your tag team debut, and as for that inspirational marathon quote? Well it isn’t merely a marathon, it is an impossibility, especially when you are up against Fabulous. And then you have Sophie O’Brian and Glory Braddock. I respect the both of you, but as great as you two are, you don’t have the chemistry and bond Jess and I have. We will embarrass you just like we embarrassed the reigning champions.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
What Summer is trying to say is that the tag team division is still OUR division and we aren’t just asking for, we are DEMANDING our rightful shot at the MWE World Tag Team Championship. This isn’t a case of jumping the line. We ARE the line! We ARE the standard! And we just the beat champions in a non-title bout. Now it’s time to beat them when it counts and take back what is ours. It is time to make the MWE tag team division absolutely FABULOUS!
Tag Team Match
Bad & Boujee VS Tank Steiner & Dusty Douglas
WINNER: Bad & Boujee BY: Pinfall (My Sunglasses Are Gucci), 13:22 |
We then head not to the locker room but up in the rafters. Populating this part alone is the veteran of the sport in Seth Iser. It seems he’s already in his ring attire, opting for a simple black and red combination and it seems the sleeve that had been consuming his entire left arm and shoulder has been traded for wraps around the shoulder joint. There is also the gleam of that infamous black knee brace. And it just seems like he’s been collecting his thoughts for a bit.
Seth Iser:
Tonight…is more of a peak to the future than a look at the present in a lot of ways. There are going to be a significant amount of main events down the line between the four people populating our tag match tonight. The other two thirds of the Triumvirate…whether it’s Megan’s year long Intercontinental Championship reign or Pierce Manning breaking through in his thirties to represent this show not once but twice…you know there’s a lot of main events there. Alex, the current face of the brand, is only twenty and there’s a chance she could have her fair share as well. Then there’s Lowri and well…
There’s a competitive scowl etched on his face as he winces ever so slightly moving that left shoulder.
Seth Iser:
She’s already had her fair share of main events at her age, a couple with me across the country, and lord knows where she’s going to be when she’s actually in her prime. It is curious though…she had her pick of the litter for any match she wanted and that’s the one she put together. But I know those two’ll be motivated to come for her and Alex for their own reasons. Plus…more than anything, Megan and especially Pierce want to go where Lowri’s been the last year or so.
And then you see the scowl lighten ever so slightly as he crosses his arms and seems like he’s contemplating his next point before nodding his head.
Seth Iser:
…And tonight I’m dealing with the young Yulia Kirilenko product in Nina. More youth…and I’m the one who truly stands out considering I’m north of forty years of age. I could riff…and have a little fun about how you seem to enjoy trashing my office with our general manager when you have one too many but…no. I’m not going to do that. There’s a much bigger situation at play here considering I’m one of the few elder statesmen left in the entire industry that’s still capable of going at a level near or at his peak.
He shakes his head calmly as he uncrosses his arms and the scowl is now completely gone.
Seth Iser:
For the unaware or the new fans I’ll give a little background: She broke in as an intern handling social media…dealing with God knows how much bullshit that many of us wrestler’s have to deal with. After being shoved aside…for arbitrary reasons it was still her foot in the door. She’s a professional wrestler now. And she still has to fight a little bit of that stigma of just being the social media girl. But Vincent thinks the world of you. He really does. We don’t have the time to converse as often as we used to…considering I’m busy both as a wrestler and as a father while he’s busy holding the job here but…he clearly thinks you can be a future pillar.
He then considers things further as he pauses yet again just mulling over his point.
Seth Iser:
You’ve also shown some growth over at Liberty…don’t think I am unaware of what’s going on there. I tend to keep an eye on who might be the future, who people think is the present…insert your own cliche but I just call it part of the damn job description. She’s better now then she was when she first started showing up here. She moves a little crisper…with more confidence. She always has a gameplan…a trademark of Yulia’s protege’s. You see it with Echo too whether she wants to admit that or not. It just comes in a different form these days.
He sidetracks for a moment while allowing himself a smirk to let that little message sink in before he continues onward.
Seth Iser:
Hell I’ve even given you an earful of advice here and there…and god damn you even listen to it sometimes. For as much of a pillock that I can be…if a wrestler is willing to work harder then they ever have before…I’ll be willing to sit down and work with them. I’ll tell them some things not to do…and that’ll add to the lifespan of their career. Then it’s starting to explain the basics of the true chess match we do as professionals. And I’ve leant my voice to that for a number of people that have come through here. Then they have to set off in their own path one way or another.
There’s a slight nod as makes his point.
Seth Iser:
But you’ve been wanting this match…since you committed to becoming a professional wrestler I’d bet. This is part of your own progress and part of the path you picked for yourself. And the one thing I keep hammering to Pierce and Megan both is to never underestimate who they are dealing with at all times so don’t worry…I’m going to give you my best shot. I figured it was coming eventually but today is that day, Nina. You’re about to find out where exactly you stand against a man who has done a lot and even redefined a lot of aspects of what Professional Wrestling is today. And I’m wagering something simple…I figure you’re going to put in an effort that’s even beyond your normal capabilities. You’re up for this challenge. You sure as hell aren’t intimidated by it…your wrestler’s pride compels you to go forward. So I’m almost expecting you to have some sort of surprise for me…
And then the confident smirk creeps in but considering it’s far less sinister then previously it lacks the arrogance it once had.
Seth Iser:
But I’ll expose the weakness in your mindframe and what you still need to work on. Your best day…isn’t enough to beat me yet. Even more so when I’m not going to fall into the trap and look past you. Whatever weakness in your form and discipline…I’ll exploit with a veteran’s knowledge. Your choice in tactic…I’ll adapt and change accordingly. Hell…maybe even set a trap or two…and that’s for you to figure out what they are without setting them off you know…
The smirk vanishes as he just looks forward with a deadly serious expression etched on his face.
Seth Iser:
Just right now wrestling on your best day…you still have some growing to do before you can beat me…and I’ll prove that in the ring tonight.
With that last statement the veteran then walks off from the view and we fade away with his message sent.

The scene opens up earlier in the day inside a wrestling school in Hiawatha, a suburb of Cedar Rapids around six miles away from the venue for tonight's show. It is a modest facility with a solitary ring and a small array of exercise equipment, but that is enough to suit the needs of Lowri Moss and Alex Andrews, who can be seen standing together in the ring, having been working on moves and the like, getting ready for their upcoming tag team match against the Mannings. While the pair take a momentary break to keep themselves hydrated, Lowri looks over at Alex; there is not a significant difference in size between the two of them, and Lowri is herself relatively strong, pound-for-pound, but she certainly does not have the background in powerlifting that the Riot Champion has, something that is not lost on the Welsh star.
Lowri Moss:
You know, I’m definitely glad that you’re on my side, and not the opposing side!
This causes Alex to laugh and smile broadly as she takes a drink from her water bottle. She wipes her mouth on her towel.
Alex Andrews:
You're too kind. Way too kind. I think I do alright. My skills seem to have served me well so far.
Alex shrugs her shoulders, while Lowri gulps down some water.
Alex Andrews:
I might have spent most of last year as a champion of some sort, though in doing so, I caused myself to gain a nemesis in one Pierce Manning.
Alex points to the gym bag sitting in the corner.
Alex Andrews:
He tried his best to cheat to deny me of that title, but my grit and determination proved to be the deciding factor then. And neither one of us have forgotten how things went down. He's holding a grudge and quite frankly… so am I.
Lowri nods her head in understanding.
Lowri Moss:
I know what it’s like to have an adversary who… someone who can push your buttons like nobody else. My nemesis has been out of the sport for two and a quarter of years now though, so I no longer have to worry about him, unlike you and Pierce.
Having said that, Lowri does have a feeling at the back of her mind that her particular nemesis has been too quiet for too long.
Lowri Moss:
I’m looking forward to taking him and Megan down a peg or two, after they’ve both been moaning recently about how they deserve better than what they’ve been given, as well as showing them both just why, in Pierce’s words, I’ve been treated like a superstar in MWE from day one.
Alex nods as she listens.
Alex Andrews:
You have, and I respect that. I truly do. You made your name and came in and showed why you should be taken seriously and an instant threat from the moment you set foot in a MWE ring. Myself, on the other hand, had to work for every single bit of success here. I started in MWE in my second match ever. And I've had my ups and downs, it definitely was a rough start and took some time to gain some momentum, but it was all a learning experience. So, I can't complain too hard about my time in MWE, I've done alright for myself. MWE has been good to me and I am proud to be able to call myself the Riot Champion for as long as I can manage. Hopefully, you don't catch too much of Pierce's ire in this whole ordeal. But I agree with you, he does need to be taken down a peg or two. Both of them, actually.
Lowri smiles wryly.
Lowri Moss:
Pierce can feel however he wants about me, I’m really not bothered. I mean, he has talked about wanting to end my honeymoon period, even though that already came to an end last September, when my Cloud Gate title reign ended. Besides, I plan on giving both him and Megan something to be annoyed about come the end of tonight.
Her smile morphs into more of a smirk.
Lowri Moss:
I know I’m not Kallie, Alex, but there’s no denying our collective ability, and I’m confident that you and I are going to make a good team.
Alex nods as she smiles.
Alex Andrews:
I can agree with that. We are going to make it very hard for the Mannings to beat. Heck, we'd probably make a deep run in the tag division together if we were ever to choose that route, I believe that. But that's getting a bit ahead of ourselves. Humbling the Mannings is our priority here. Showing them that we aren't the lowly pieces of trash they seem to believe we are.
Lowri takes another swig of water from her bottle.
Lowri Moss:
And with that in mind, I think it’s probably about time that we got back to work; what do you say?
Alex Andrews:
Sounds good to me.
The duo each put down their respective drinks bottles before making their way towards the middle of the ring, ready to resume their practice session, and as they do so, the camera cuts away.
