Bebe LeBeau was toddling around back in the Academy, helping tidy up the gym after another long days training and coaching sessions. After moving some of the smaller weights and putting them back to rest, she sat herself down, wiping her brow then opening a bottle of chilled water. As she sipped on it, she let out an overly exaggerated sigh, leaning back as she gazed up at the bright lights of the Academy.
Bebe LeBeau:
At last… Peace and quiet.
She took in the sights, seeing that the gym floor had now emptied fully. Bags were packed, fellow students had already retired to their accommodation or ventured out into the city to grab a bite to eat or just socialise.
Bebe LeBeau:
Just two more things, then bed.
She added, moving to pick up another weight and put it in its proper place, just as a few of the building's lights began to dim. It didn’t faze her, more giving a little spring into her step as she knew the day's work was now done. It seemed very out of the ordinary for Bebe LeBeau to be wanting a quiet night in her room, given her outgoing history and reputation as a bit of a party girl, but she had seemed overly down lately, very far from the bright, troublesome spark that she had a reputation for being. As she then finally moved the final piece, her ears poked up, and she looked across the room to see Lady Magdalena standing at the door of her office. Out of the office came her daughter, a woman that Bebe knew all too well as a business client of her own sister, Eloise K. LeBeau. And the woman in question? Anastasia Starling. She hadn’t heard about any involvement from her in the Academy, such a big name appearing here would have been the talk of the locker room. That bit of gossip was reserved solely for Skylar Rayner though, who was training here in preparation for a MMA match she was having elsewhere.
Bebe LeBeau:
She here to see her Moms? Or Skylar? Hmm.
Bebe muttered, not thinking much further about it as she went to get her training bag, just as Starling seemed to sway out of the building. As she flipped the bag over her shoulder though, she was suddenly startled, seeing Lady Magdalena standing before her. She was attired in a sharp business suit, having changed out of her workout gear, looking as immaculate as she often did in public appearances, and her sudden appearance took Bebe off guard.
Lady Magdalena:
Once upon a time, you were always the first to go charging out of those doors once the sessions ended. Often screaming ‘freedom’ at the top of your lungs. How times have changed.
Bebe LeBeau:
Erm yeah. Helena was telling me some stuff about organisation and things, and how messy I was leaving everything after a session. Just thought I’d try to get myself into some form of routine.
LeBeau seemed to have one eye on the exit at all times, looking a little shaken and clearly not wanting to be dragged into a conversation at all. But Lady pressed on, her eyes scanning over the Seattle born girl.
Lady Magdalena:
Helena is doing well by you, I’m glad to hear that. Organisation is often key, and often ignored. Pleased to see she is encouraging you in such ways.
Bebe LeBeau:
Yeah, yeah… It’s good… Gotta go!
Bebe suddenly blurted out, trying to make a run for the door. But a gentle hand from the Frenchwoman halted her in her place, Bebe freezing as she closed her eyes tightly.
Lady Magdalena:
LeBeau?
Bebe very slowly began to turn, looking down towards her feet, looking a little shaken and seemingly expecting the worst from this whole situation.
Lady Magdalena:
The streaming incident last week, the one involving Shania and Walker? How are you in light of that.
Bebe LeBeau:
I-I don’t want to talk about it.
Bebe shouted out loud, though her increase in volume did nothing to deter the Black Swan.
Lady Magdalena:
Bebe…
With a single digit under her chin, Lady raised Bebe’s face to gaze at her. In a sudden outburst though, LeBeau burst into uncontrollable tears then gripped hold of Lady tightly in a hug, crying on her shoulder.
Lady Magdalena:
Oh… There, there child.
Lady uttered, clearly taken aback by the sudden burst of emotion from the young Seattle trainee. She held her tightly, stroking her silky hair for a few moments, before Bebe pulled herself away. Magdalena handed her a handkerchief, urging her to keep it as Bebe wiped her eyes. Lady looked down at the girl, leaning over to her as she took in the reactions of LeBeau, an eyebrow raising as she leaned in to whisper something to her.
Lady Magdalena:
You know, you’re much smarter than they give you credit for. Just try not to be too smart.
Bebe LeBeau:
I really have t-to go.
LeBeau responded, looking a little confused by what The Fair Lady just said, and she made a sprint for the door. She wasn’t even looking where she was going as she ran, bumping right into another figure as she went crashing to the floor in a heap. Standing in front of her was none other than former Gold Star, Jasper King.
Jasper King:
Hey, Bebe? Sorry, I came back ‘cause I left my drinks bottle. Are you alright. I saw what happ–
Bebe pulled herself up sharply, running past Jasper as made a hasty escape, clearly even more embarrassed about what had just occurred.
Bebe LeBeau:
I don’t wanna talk about it!
She screamed out, charging through the exit and away.

Luis Rivera:
Too slow! Are you even trying?
The newest addition to the Academy roster, the former professional boxer Luis Rivera, bellowed at his sparring partner and future tag team partner, Bebe LeBeau. The stern scolding knocked further down the already pouting young girl. It’s been a rough couple of months for Bebe, whose time here in the Academy has been all but sunshine and rainbows. Letting out a long sigh, she lowered her head, looking done for the day.
Luis, instead, had different plans..
Luis Rivera:
What, you’re giving up now? Come on, get up, we’re not done yet.
The San Diego native began to bounce from one feet to the other, keeping himself in movement while waiting for his partner to stand up. Although that seemed very unlikely.
Luis Rivera:
So this is it? You’re a quitter, huh? I’m disappointed, Bebe. I guess Shaina was right, you are weak…
Jasper King:
Come on, Punchy Boy.. Cut her some slack, she had a rough week.
The King Of Pumpkins himself, the first Gold Star of Year two walked into frame.
Luis Rivera:
This is none of your business, Jasper. Stay out of it.
Despite Luis’ hostile attitude, King kept his cool, looking to defuse the tension that was building.
Jasper King:
I know, brother. I see what you’re trying to do here, you want to push her and get her to get back on track, which is cool. I’m just saying, you’re probably coming at her the wrong way. Last thing she needs is someone else yelling at her, or bringing up what happened last week…
Rivera shook his head.
Luis Rivera:
Nah, you don’t get it, bro.. How could you, it’s not your streak that’s on the line this friday… You’re not the one trying to keep an undefeated record while being stuck with a partner who thinks that sulking is the way to react to people saying you’re weak.
Jasper King:
She’s not…
Again, Luis interrupted the former Gold Star before he could finish.
Luis Rivera:
She’s not what? Good enough? I don’t believe it, I think she has what it takes. But she’s settling for just the average, and that’s y’all’s problem.
His eyes dart between Jasper and Bebe.
Luis Rivera:
I was raised for greatness, I was taught that there’s no slowing down, that you always gotta push through and when life knocks you down? That’s when you gotta push harder. But since coming here? All I see is people complaining, people being content with taking cheap wins, people accepting losses as long as they don’t affect their status quo… Where’s your drive?
Jasper King:
Chill, my guy… Nobody is settling, we are all working hard to become the best version of ourselves. Judging and acting the way you’re doing? That’s not cool.
Still managing to keep a certain aplomb Jasper continued.
Jasper King:
Losses happen, and one day you’re gonna lose too. I don’t think you’d appreciate it if everyone’s going to poop on you when that happens, yeah?
Luis Rivera:
No, but I don’t want it to be someone else’s fault either.
Glancing over at Bebe, he continued.
Luis Rivera:
You have one day to get your shit together Bebe. I’ll check on you tomorrow morning, if you’re still being an emo bitch, I’m gonna ask Helena to give me a different partner.
Without adding a word, or waiting for her reply, Luis walked toward the locker room.
Jasper King:
I don’t think he really means it, you know? He’s just nervous, day-before-the-show tension and stuff.
The big guy spoke in a soft tone, offering his big hand to help Bebe up to her feet.
Jasper King:
Hey, if you need to finish your training, I can make some time for you. Whatcha say?
