The Gold Star Addison McKinley was on her way to the gym for another workout session when a familiar voice called her name.
Taylor Wheeler:
Good job last Sunday.
Coach Taylor was waiting for her by the entrance of the gym, greeting the Gold Star with a smile and a pat on the back.
Addison stopped in her tracks and glared over toward Taylor.
Addison McKinley:
Don’t. Touch. Me.
She shrugged his hand away and pushed the door open with a huff.
Addison McKinley:
I don’t need a pat on the back. I’m not four.
Taylor opened his mouth as if he wanted to reply, but at the last moment decided against it, following her inside.
Taylor Wheeler:
My bad. You seem to be a bit on edge recently. Are you alright? Need to vent?
Addison McKinley:
What, you want me to stand around and bitch and moan about the powers that be that seem intent on SCREWING ME?
She shook her head, while sitting her bag on the ground.
Addison McKinley:
No, they’re not gonna break me, and when I’m still Gold Star come graduation, I’m fully expecting apologies from every last one of them.
Raising an eyebrow, the Academy trainer looked at Addi.
Taylor Wheeler:
Well… It’s not really my place to comment on their decision…
Taylor seemed to have chosen, wisely, to stay neutral.
Taylor Wheeler:
My job is to keep you both mentally and physically sharp so that you can successfully defend the Gold Star until the end of the year. That’s why I need to know if you’re cool with Skylar being here.
Addison McKinley:
Didn’t even notice she was here, sooo…
With a sigh, she unzipped her bag and retrieved a roll of tape and set to work covering her hands and wrists.
Addison McKinley:
Don’t even know why she’s here. There’s about six million other places she coulda went to.
Taylor Wheeler:
I’m one of the two people who suggested she come here. She doesn’t have much time to prepare for a MMA fight, and here at the Academy we have state-of-the-art facilities and some of the best trainers in the country. And she can access them whenever she wants for as long as she wants.
After explaining why he “sponsored” Skylar joining the Academy, Taylor continued, asking the uncomfortable question.
Taylor Wheeler:
Are you planning to talk to her at some point?
Addison McKinley:
Wasn’t planning on it. Why would I? I’m busy doing my own thing.
Using her teeth to tear away the final strip of tape, she tossed the roll back into her bag with a shrug.
Addison McKinley:
Her roommate is damn near family with an MMA legend, shoulda gone to Throne MMA.
Ignoring the last comment out of respect for the woman he managed and trained for over a year, he focused on that question Addi asked.
Taylor Wheeler:
Because she could use it, and I believe you could use it too. I get it, it’s a difficult situation and you’re finding yourself right in the middle of it. And it sucks. But is running really the solution? Do you actually feel better now that you cut her and Peyton off or are you just trying to convince yourself that you do?
With fire in her eyes, Addi sprung from the floor and got as far in Taylor’s face as her height would allow.
Addison McKinley:
Running from WHAT? Their problems aren’t MY problems. My problem is who’s next in line, and then who comes after them, and after them. Sky’s problem is “do I want to bang the Cowgirl or the Birdgirl?”, and Peyton’s problem is “I’m kinda just known for having HENNY’s kid.” They need to figure their own shit out and leave me out of it.
Taylor Wheeler:
You’re getting quite fired up for something that’s not even your problem…
Keeping a surprising aplomb, he looks down at the young student.
Taylor Wheeler:
I’m saying this and then I’ll leave you to your training. Whether you like it or not, you were part of their family. You may consider yourself out, but they definitely feel that you are still part of it. Whatever they got going, it’s affecting you as much as it affects them and while it’s not necessarily YOUR problem, you might help them figure out a solution.
He didn’t wait for her reply. Staying true to his words, he turned around and walked away.
Addison McKinley:
Yeah, walk away you fucking dickhead. Stupid…
With the scene fading out, all that could be heard were the rapid combos of Addison punching and kicking away at the heavy bag.

#Surprise4Bebe
Shaina Sheridan:
Hi lovelies! Shaina here. Welcome back to the channel. We’re just a few subs away from hitting our next goal, but before we get into all that, boy do me and Walker have a surprise for you…
That was the introduction to the latest upload on Shaina Sheridan’s wrestling blog channel; her side project next to her several other video blogging channels…as well as her training at the Academy of course…but this video in particular was included in this week’s episode, not just for the fact that it went viral with Shaina’s wide audience, but for the controversy that was to come before the end. Continuing from the perspective of the camera on her phone, the video suddenly jumps ahead; no doubt the work of the editors for the Academy’s weekly show in an attempt to cut out all of Shaina’s usual online activity. Despite the large chunk of footage cut from this video however, we immediately find ourselves looking up to two faces: Shaina herself, and Bebe LeBeau.
For those keeping score, the troublesome duo of Shaina Sheridan and her (more than) friend Walker have been trying to bond with their fellow teammate. Understandably this sudden change of heart was a little too suspicious, but it seems that after everything, they may have finally earned Bebe’s trust, as proof by her involvement in Shaina’s latest video blog. Together in the changing room, presumably after a training session judging by how exhausted they both were, Shaina finally convinced Bebe to join her in her latest video. While Shaina held the camera up to her face as she sat on the bench, Bebe was seen behind her, putting her top back on just in time before looking down at the camera with a cheeky smile.
Shaina Sheridan:
Well here we are! Team Bay-Shay! Just like I promised. Say hi Bebe!
Bebe LeBeau:
Hi Bebe!
She muttered, her eyes nervously glancing from the camera then back to Shania. She was in her training gear, a black MWE themed tank top covered by a bright red Adidas tracksuit. Her hair was tied back in a bun, and her makeup was very subtly applied. Although she had seen extremely down in the dumps over the past month or two, far from the overly chatty and confident former camera woman for the company, she today seemed a little more bright. Much more herself.
Bebe LeBeau:
Wow, I haven’t done anything like this before. This is new.
She uttered, biting lightly on her lower lip as she waited for Shaina to respond. And respond she did, giving Bebe a big smile while making sure the viewers could see clearly from the perspective of her phone.
Shaina Sheridan:
Don't worry sweetie. It's not like we got thousands of people watching us right now..
She laughs at that comment, and before even catching Bebe's reaction, she quickly faces her phone again, giving her followers a wink.
Shaina Sheridan:
Anyway guys, we got a busy weekend coming up, so I'll only be reading a few questions from you for now, but I'm sure a lot of you have lots to say about my new BFF!
It takes a brief moment for her to pick out the first question; one of a countless list of constantly spawning questions.
Shaina Sheridan:
Here's a good one for you Bebe! What things in the world makes you the happiest?
She redirects the phone so that Bebe, looking down from behind Shaina's shoulder, is in clear view. Bebe takes a moment to think it over before giving quite a short and abrupt answer,
Bebe LeBeau:
Pizza?
The pair chuckled, which was way more like the Bebe the fans all knew prior to her signing up with the Academy all those months ago. She didn’t just leave the answer there though, adding a little bit more flavour to her response.
Bebe LeBeau:
Not just that though. I’m a very social little bunny rabbit, so getting about, seeing good people and beautiful sights and such does. But admittedly, I am a foodie. The strict diet that wrestlers have wasn’t something I was expecting when I came here, so I need to be a little more careful with stuff now. But yeah, that’s my answer. That and the roaring fans for our shows.
Shaina Sheridan:
Well ain't that the sweetest?
It was hard to read the sincerity in that last remark from Shaina, but regardless, as the camera view tilts back to the hostess, she scrolls through even more comments.
Shaina Sheridan:
You're doing great so far Bebe. But here's a really good one.
The smile on her face was almost devilish…almost…
Shaina Sheridan:
Do you have a crush on anyone here in the Academy?
Bebe LeBeau:
Ooooh. That’s a good one, but no, no. When I signed up, I did think one guy was cute, but they just didn’t click once I got to know them. That’s what happens though. My crush isn’t in the Academy and they know exactly who they are.
She answered, growing a little more confident in herself as she gave a bashful little wave to the lens of the camera phone.
Shaina Sheridan:
You're really not gonna tell me who that is?
Bebe LeBeau:
Nope!
She responded, shaking her head. She mocked zipping her lips together, locking them and throwing away the key, before mumbling something with her lips smacked shut, something that could have been taken as “I’ll never tell”. As Shaina looks back down at the camera, she clearly rolls her eyes at that, making sure Bebe didn't see.
Shaina Sheridan:
Moving on then…
After another brief scroll through the endless comments.
Shaina Sheridan:
I think one last one for now. And I think this is a special one. What's it like teaming up with someone like yours truly?
Bebe paused for a moment as she pondered the question, letting out a sigh before smiling brightly.
Bebe LeBeau:
I mean, it’s fun, it’s cool. People might not know it with the luck we’ve had, but I really do actually enjoy the tag team stuff. I haven’t had much luck with it, bar winning the Gold Star once, but I’ve really grown to enjoy it. Which I didn’t in the early weeks in the Academy. But now I do, and it’s cool having a partner that has your back. I said we hadn’t had much luck, especially with our last result, but we’re really gonna come through strong if we stick together on this, right? Right?
A lot of emphasis on that last word as Bebe notices a wicked smirk on Shaina's face. Shaina quickly turns to the phone, gives her viewers a cheeky wink, and turns back to Bebe.
Shaina Sheridan:
I don't think that was luck sweetie. You know, I really thought we did make a good team for a while. But we just were never really good enough, were we? And who's fault is that? Pretty sure everyone watching will agree with me…
The tone of the room suddenly shifts as slight venom can be heard in the tone of Shaina's voice.
Shaina Sheridan:
You've always been a weak link Bebe. Always. I just wanted us to be a team. I tried to be nice to you, and all you ever did was act like a little brat. You never wanted to team with me, and the only reason you ever did was cuz it turns out you don't have any other friends here. And even when I let you team with me, you're always so sad and moping to care about training together. You're so self centered to even care about your own partners, so how do you think that makes me feel?
Bebe is clearly taken back by this sudden outburst, her bottom lip quivering a little as she tried to respond but was clearly absolutely speechless..
Shaina Sheridan:
Well I'm done trying to be your friend. I'm done being your partner. I'm done carrying you sad little butt through the whole year. You have every right to be sad. You should be. You don't deserve anything less cuz I know, and now the whole world knows how much of a selfish bitch you really are!
Walker is heard laughing and the camera toward him.
Walker:
Everything that Shaina said? It’s true. You’re weak, Bebe, and you don’t belong here. Do you really think you would be a suitable partner for Shaina? I’m the only one worthy enough but you? You’re the LEAST worthy. Just because you got family in this business means you got what it takes. You fucking don’t.
Walker scoffs and shakes his head.
Walker:
All you do is drag the rest of us down. With the way you get upset and pout? It shows how much of a loser you are and how you aren’t ready for this. You’re a waste of space and somebody else out there deserves the spot in the Academy that was wasted on you. You should just quit now and keep on focusing on posting thirst traps on Twitter, you nasty bitch.
Walker finishes his tirade and Bebe couldn’t take it anymore, she ran off crying. With Bebe out of sight, Walker gives Shaina a big hug in front of her camera, laughing with each other after what they just did. They're clearly so proud, and Shaina, after her outburst, settles back into her usual nice and joyful online personality as she addresses her live audience.
Shaina Sheridan:
And that's what we call taking out the trash! That's it for tonight guys, and as always, don't forget to just let it shine! Goodnight my lovelies!
That's how the video ends, with Shaina and Walker cackling as we fade to black.
Diary Room
April 1st, 2022
12:01 pm
Gabriel Landry is sitting on a chair alone in the diary room of The Academy. He is wearing his trademark hoodie, his hands are tucked in the pouch.
Gabriel Landry:
Clock is ticking everyone...
Gabriel takes a breath as he ponders what he is going to say next.
Gabriel Landry:
Our time in the Academy is winding. Feels surreal. All of my time in one way or another has been focused on Rainer. I didn’t want it to be. That guy is like a cockroach, hard to get rid of, always coming back when you don’t want him around. The gaslighting, the arrogance, him dragging Erika into his web. If there is one regret I do have, it’s believing she was worth saving, I learned the hard way those two are perfect for each other. Assuming he doesn’t worm his way into my Gold Star Championship match, my business with those two is dead in the water.
Gabriel nods. He removes a hand from the pouch and waves.
Gabriel Landry:
Hello Addison. I’ll admit, I was disappointed when you became the Gold Star Champion. No secret I wanted to be the one to take the championship off the previous champ. For a brief moment I thought no one could be a bigger pain in the ass than that guy, so far, you haven’t been a great role model as a champion either. Complaining all the time. Not showing up to Andreas class, I mean, your ego is just as big as the girl who went to the Wristlock Academy before coming here, that’s a trend that I have not overlooked. Between you and the previous champion, your egos are out of control, the lack of humility between you both is astonishing. I never want to become a person like that. No siree bob.
Gabriel chuckles.
Gabriel Landry:
Before you say it, yes, my lovely girlfriend has an ego. I don’t lack complete self awareness, I’m saving you the trouble of pointing that out. As I have proven I am a much different person than Karen with my own set of beliefs. Two people can disagree and co-exist. So when I tell you Addison that I want to restore the honor and respect that Jasper King started off the season with, that is what I aim to do. I want to be the last Gold Star Champion of Season 2. I don’t want the next class that comes in believing they need to be arrogant, whiny, self righteous buttholes to make it in this sport. You can be a good person who treats people with respect. Who possesses a lick of class. I get the feeling that many young people are looking at the wrong role models to model themselves after. Hopefully, I can be the last Gold Star Champion to show the next class that follows us that there is another way. A better way. Your time is up Addison. My time is now.
Gabriel smirks as the scene fades to black.
