Triple Threat Hardcore Match
Siobhan Mahoney VS Valkyrie VS NinaWhat’s better than some violence to start the night? Three hungry competitors and a load of weapons for a match that started with a bang. Or I should say a thud. That was the sound of the chair shot Valkyrie bashed Nina’s skull with. The Great Dane Bitch came to the ring prepared, wielding the chair and not even waiting for the bell to start dishing out punishment, in an attempt to keep her recent momentum going with another win. After knocking down Nina, Vee drove the chair in Siobhan’s stomach, doubling her over. The Irish was then flattened by a tremendous shot on the back, after which Valkyrie quickly turned around to face Nina’s return. The Viper jumped and dropkicked the steel chair on the opponent’s face, knocking the Warmaiden Of Roskilde down. Nina ignored the weapon and began stomping Valkyrie. But in a match like this a chance not taken is not only a chance missed, but also an opportunity someone else is going to take. And while the Snakebite was kicking the grounded Dane, Mahoney picked up the chair from the floor and smacked it across Nina’s back. As the Chicago native arched her back and let out a groan of pain, Siobhan put her in a reverse headlock and dropped her on the chair with an inverted ddt. A scary blow for someone like Nina with a well documented history of concussions, but not enough to keep her down. For the next couple of minutes this was an affair between Valkyrie and Siobhan, with Nina taking a much needed break on the outside. When she came back in the ring, she had a chain in her hand and she whipped the Human Disaster with it, leaving a red mark down her spine. She then wrapped it around her fist and hit the Dane with the Viper Sting (sambo casting punch). As cliché as it sounded, Siobhan brought a Shillelagh to the ring. And she was very effective with it, hitting the Viper repeatedly on the head and cracking her skull open. Valkyrie disarmed the northern Irish with a German suplex that sent Siobhan flying across the ring, losing her weapon in the process. For a little while this seemed a regular wrestling match, one where the Dane dominated the Hot Mess, pinning her against the corner and blasting her with several forearm strikes to the face. Siobhan went straight for the eyes to get out of that uncomfortable position, momentarily blinding Valkyrie and pushing her back with a jumping knee. Mahoney quickly turned around and removed the protective pad from the top turnbuckle, and when Valkyrie came back charging in, she stepped out of the way and sent her crashing head-first into the exposed steel. Siobhan tried to capitalize on this with a quick roll up on the dazed Dane, but Nina was there to make the save. A couple of minutes later, the bleeding Viper was put through a table by Vee’s powerbomb. That left the Dane alone with Siobhan, who had in the meantime recovered her Irish traditional club and tried to crack Valkyrie’s head with it. But the member of Warblade 42 was able to dodge the fatal blow and kick Mahoney in the stomach. She reached and snatched the cane from her hand, pressing it against her throat as she moved side to side with the Northern Irish, falling backwards and dragging her down with a Russian leg sweep. Siobhan only got time to get up to one knee before a Hammer Of Thor put her back down, this time for good. WINNER: Valkyrie BY: Pinfall (Hammer Of Thor), 8:46 |
Inside the ring, Bree Smith has her Lockdown Championship resting around her waist while carrying a gym bag. She's got her full attire on, with Monster's Inc hat on top boasting a confident smile.
Bree Smith:
So I'll get straight to the point. We all know my cousin Honey's well respected in New York, and how awesome it feels to be a fellow Smith Girl standing in this state holding some prized gold.
Bree tips her hat to the fans cheering her sister.
Bree Smith:
As champion, especially a Lockdown Champion, I have a duty to establish the next match in this title's history. We've seen all kinds, the Iron Man match most recently. I won that match, I am the Iron Man so I don't need to prove myself in that style of contest. Although, it did have a bit of an impact on me.
She says while setting down the gym bag gently on the mat.
Bree Smith:
We all know I'm pretty strong. That's intimidating and we've seen time and time again people instinctively go flight instead of fight when faced against this Breebarian. Well that changes.
Bree opens up her gym bag and pulls out a cable of sorts with two sealable hand gloves which she shows to the camera.
Bree Smith:
But with this. With this bad boy, you're locked in a duel with me. You don't get away until I put you away. No more cat and mouse, you're staying with me until the match is over.
The crowd get a better look as Bree holds it out above her head, with the distance between the two not exactly long.
Bree Smith:
But I had this custom made so it can't be a weapon. Can't use it as a whip, can't use it to power up a punch - it'll cushion it actually. Why? Because this Lockdown Champion locks us down to a match between you and me. So let's get Betsy Gallagher down here for my first (of many) title defense!
At which point Bree allows the official to put on the glove at one end of the strap as Betsy's music hits.
Lockdown Championship Match
Bree's Rule: Gym Strap Match
Bree Smith © VS Betsy GallagherBree's Rule: Gym Strap Match
Lockdown championship on the line in Bree’s first defense. The champion looked confident, as the referee tied the gym strap to her and Betsy’s wrist, reminding them the rules of the match. No pinfalls or submissions, the only way to win is to touch all four ring posts. The first couple of minutes of the match saw the two competitors just circling around each other and testing the respective defenses with kicks. Bree was the first to break the tie, yanking the strap and pulling Betsy into a clothesline. The Breehemoth then walked to the nearby corner and touched the first turnbuckle. Just as she was about to hit the second, Gallagher pulled the rope, stopping the Lockdown champion. Smith turned around and the two women began a tug-of-war, trying to outpower the other. Despite the challenger being quite the powerhouse, she couldn’t compete with Bree who eventually dragged her into a belly-to-belly suplex. The champion was going for the third post, but a clothesline to the back by Titania knocked her down. Since she was there already, Betsy patted the top pad with her hand, interrupting the opponent’s streak and starting her own. The pace of the match was inevitably slow, both for the stipulation (being tied to the opponent doesn’t leave much room for quick offense and acrobatic moves) and the characteristics of the two competitors, with the two of them now favoring direct strikes. After a complicated start, Betsy was finally getting a grasp of it, exploiting the strap to connect a Queen’s Lariat. That gave her the chance to touch the corner post for the third time, getting a few steps away from her first title in MWE. But Bree wasn’t ready to give up the gold yet, planting her foot and using all her strength to yank Betsy away from the corner before she could touch it. Smith stomped the opponent to the floor and interrupted her streak by touching the corner. The fight continued, gifting the fans with some intense action, like when Betsy, from outside the ring, yanked the rope and pulled Bree into the corner. The referee counted it as the third touch, but Smith was momentarily stunned after eating the turnbuckle which allowed Gallagher to get back in the ring and hit her with the British End. With the champion down, Betsy started to walk around the ring, touching two of the four posts. As she was about to touch the third one, the lights in the arena went off for a brief moment. When they came back, Nine van der Hoek, Erin Page and a bunch of cultists were surrounding the ring, staring at the British wrestler in the ring. A flash, then the lights went off one more time. As the issue was solved and the Arena was illuminated once again, they all vanished. Betsy continued her march toward victory but Bree was now back on her feet and pulled her into a German suplex. This was a special edition of the Power Of Bree, going for four suplexes rather than the usual three. And it was enough to keep her down for the time Bree needed to touch all four posts, with Betsy desperately trying to stop her when it was already too late. WINNER: Bree Smith (STILL LOCKDOWN CHAMPION) BY: Four Corners Touched, 10:14 |
Aliyah and Annica Greene were seen walking backstage, minutes prior to their match against the former MWE Tag Team champions, the Glorious Golden Era. As they turned the corner in the locker room area, they found someone standing in their way.
As unexpected as it may have been, they didn’t seem entirely surprised to see Olly waiting for them. Perhaps, deep down, they were expecting some form of retaliation after their encounter with Karen one week ago. Annica quickly turned around, looking for the woman who, she supposed, was about to blindside them. Her sister assumed a defensive stance, ready to fight Olly should he try something funny.
But nothing happened, and there was no Karen in sight. Olly let out a chuckle, shaking his head at the sisters.
Olly:
Quite jumpy, aren’t we? I mean, I don’t blame you. After the number you did last week, and the things you said..
The young man raised his hands and continued.
Olly:
But I come in peace tonight. And alone.
Annica Greene:
Jumpy no, smart yes and we don’t mean smart-ass.
Aliyah Greene:
Oh we that, too, but nah nah. Did she ever get her shoe back? Ain’t like we laid a hand on her. Jus’ tol’ her how funny it’d be if you got pushed down some stairs and she got all skurred ‘cause she knew you wasn’t gonna save her expired bacon.
Annica Greene:
Ahem tho’. Aight, you alone, and peace? Dunno. Is that an option on the table with y’all? But go on, you was brave enough to show up, we’ll give ya the courtesy this one time t’listen t’ what you gotta say.
Even so, it was clear that Annica was still on alert for any sneak attacks, though Aliyah was giving Olly her fullest attention possible.
Olly:
Ha. You got me there. I admit that talking about peace might be a bit too much… Let’s say I came to ask for a truce.
The request seemed to surprise the Valiant Anarchy champions. Even in their short history with K2O, they learned that the duo was not to be trusted, and they were always up to something.
Olly:
As I said, last week I was dealing with some personal matters… I thought that was the end of it, but apparently cockroaches are die-hard… And the management loves to milk on those kind of things. Or, who knows, they just hate Callaway enough to put her in front of the firing squad. And I’m all for doing the dirty work for them, if it means I can take out the bitch that injured Faith.
Even just mentioning her was enough to fire up the young man, who clenched his fists in rage.
Olly:
So here I am, asking that you’d stay out of our way tonight and let me end this once and for all.
The twins paused for a moment, looking at each other and it seemed almost like they were somehow communicating without speaking or some twin-powers or something, until Annica nodded at Aliyah and she put her full attention back on Olly.
Aliyah Greene:
Lesser folk would tell ya no, over the shit y’all pulled in the past. But we got us some good news earlier and well. Let’s just say that when it comes to personal level revenge? We get it. Oh we do. So… we’ll give ya this. This truce, cause listen. We get it. You wanted it bad enough to walk your ass down here alone, when you knew what could happen.
Annica Greene:
We can still hate ya ass, but that took guts. We get it. So.
Aliyah Greene:
For tonight, we won’t mess with that match. y’all stay away from ours and it’s all good. We know we don’t have to tell you what happens if ya go back on your part, so we good?
The young man nodded at her in agreement.
Olly:
That’s all I’m asking for. I promise you that neither Karen nor I will interfere in your match and you two stay out of ours.
A devious smirk then appeared on his face.
Olly:
Once all this thing with Lucie is over and done with, I still plan on making you regret you followed us to MWE.. You know, you could’ve just gone wherever you wanted after Valiant closed, and people would’ve kept believing that Bad & Boujee is a better team than K2O… You could’ve just coasted on that fluke victory and kept bragging about it… Instead, you stepped in our company, and now this house of cards you feel so safe in, this lie you live in… It’s all gonna come down and bury you and your pride.
Aliyah matched him smirk for smirk, though Annica stared at him in a way that might make him distinctly uncomfortable if he thought about it later on.
Aliyah Greene:
Once you get ya messy mess of a past history in line, you mean? You a fool, a straight up fool if you think Karen value you above what you are, y’know that right? Means to an end boy, means to an end. But like ya said. Live the lie you picked for yaself, because there’s one big truth ya can dance around all ya want. K2O might be the best tag team in any company out there, if we ain’t in it. Listen to tha’ lil voice in the back of ya head tellin’ you things.
Annica Greene:
Truthy lil things, Olly. Truthy.
Aliyah Greene:
If Karen coulda kept her mouth shut? We mighta done somethin’ else cause ain’t like we don’t as is it. But nah nah. You two tell yaself that was a fluke, whatever helps ya sleep at night. You useful, right now. Best cherish that, until ya ain’t.
Annica Greene:
You go on now, stoop kid. Go on and get that revenge. That’s… a common ground thing, so hey. Enjoy dat.
Olly snickered, his eyes quickly moving from Annica to Aliyah and then back to her sister. Without saying a word, he turned around and walked away. Before turning the corner, he finally spoke, though he didn’t even turn back to look at them as he did.
Olly:
You’re looking into the future too much, ladies. I learned to live in the here and now, it makes you appreciate things a lot more. I suggest you do the same, and enjoy tonight’s truce. You never know what can happen next week. I heard the stairs are quite slippery here in MWE…
And with that not-so veiled threat, he disappeared around the corner.
Tag Team Match
Glorious Golden Era (Sophie O'Brian & Neil Newman) VS Bad & Boujee
Will Olly and Karen keep up their end of the bargain? That seemed to be the question everyone was asking themselves, especially Aliyah and Annica who knew that a win tonight could give them a big boost in the tag division ranks. The former champions were looking to get back on track after their reign came to an end at the last PPV. Well aware of what the twins could bring to the table, especially if they were left with enough room to use their speed and agility, the Glorious Golden Era tried to keep a slow pace, isolating Annica in their half of the ring. Newman was doing the heavy work with suplexes and hard strikes while Sophie wore her out with submissions, targeting the right leg. The former Valiant Anarchy champion eventually got her break when she caught Newman with a springboard cutter and tagged her sister in. Unlike Annica, Alyiah was able to use her athleticism at the expenses of Neil. With a quick headscissors/dropick combination Greene put the former champion down. She then followed with a standing moonsault but Newman raised his knees to protect himself. As Alyiah was rolling on the floor holding her ribs in pain, Neil could easily reach his partner and make the tag. O’Brian entered the ring and charged at Greene as she was getting up to her feet, hitting her with a knee to the ribs that folded the Anarchy champion in two. Sophie kept focusing her attack on that body part, lifting the woman and dropping her onto her knee with a rib breaker. Seeing the names involved, the quality of the match was never in doubt, but as we reached the ten minutes mark, everybody would agree that it exceeded any expectation. Newman’s End Game Classic almost gave the former champions the win, but Annica was quick to save her sister with a last minute dive to break up the pin. After that close call, Bad & Boujee began to, slowly but steadily, gain ground on the Glorious Golden Era. The crowd was split almost 50/50 on who to cheer for, but they agreed that this match was one of the best tag team contests they had seen in MWE in a while and, most importantly, a fair fight without any shenanigans or interference. The New York fans let their appreciation be heard with a "This Is Awesome" chant erupting after Sophie kicked out from the It's Bad, It's Boujee (catapult by Alyiah into a diving hurricanrana by Annica). Some commotion in the crowd distracted Annica who clearly feared an interference by K2O but, surprisingly, that wasn’t the case. Still that momentary distraction allowed O’Brian to drop her with a stunner and get to her corner where Newman was waiting to get in. Annica made the tag as well, bringing in her sister for the final stretch of the match. Alyiah and Neil kept the fans glued to their seats for five more minutes with back and forth action and a few close calls, especially for Greene. Newman really took her to her limit, but somehow the Anarchy champion managed to stay in the match. Until the sudden and unexpected end that came when Neil went for another End Game Classic and got caught in a quick inside cradle by Alyiah for the one, two and three. WINNER: Bad & Boujee BY: Pinfall (Inside Cradle), 16:41 |
While a recap of tonight’s events is mid-explanation, static takes over the screen, before cutting to an unexpected shot of golden rays of sun lightly kissing the glistening ocean and warm, golden sands. Did we all just win a beach vacation? While about ten or more dumb questions plague the MWE faithful, the camera pans and we catch the sound of digging. Before long we find the “Big Boss” himself, Devin Hearst, with a shovel in-hand. As we get closer, we can see that the former MWE World Champion isn’t digging, but is in fact working to fill-in ditch on the beach just outside of his flagship establishment, The Sandcastle, where the concept of Sandstorm, Inc. was born. Wiping off his brow, Hearst slings his hawaiian-style shirt over his shoulder, pushes down his ludicrously expensive sunglasses down the bridge of his nose, and takes in a satisfied breath that could only be earned by hard work.
Devin Hearst:
It’s about earning your spot. That’s why I came back. THAT is why I’m doing this … straight and narrow experiment. You’d think it would be about redemption or a new lease on life, but like everything with me, my choices come from a place of dissatisfaction. I don’t apologize for what I’ve done and who I’ve had to be, but the thing I’ve always hated about professional wrestling is just how short the game’s memory is. Come into some money and hire some goons? You’re a coward and can’t get it done, like y’all have forgotten a hungry dog that couldn’t be put down for two years. Think of the return of Devin Hearst as some long due debts a lot of these boys and girls still haven’t paid coming back around. Think of it as the MAN, the REAL fuckin’ man, coming back around. The resurrection.
Hearst spikes the shovel into the sand, taking time to look over his dirty work. He nods in satisfaction, picking up an opened beer bottle from off-screen, before taking a sip, and pouring a healthy portion out into the ditch.
Devin Hearst:
I’m not out here to make threats. Ain’t no targets here, because after a while, I’ll be paying each and other one of y’all a visit. Marcus Ali Jr. just happens to be a name higher up on that list than others. Oh yeah, I’ve been paying attention, Angel of Death. I find it fitting that, if you matched up stats, you and I look real similar. Maybe it’s my ego, but I dig that. What would it be like if that fortune teller at the pier was right and I eventually crashed into myself? Is it mayhem? Is it a religious experience? Wild times. You know the real difference between us, Marc? I could sit here and feed you some lines about not being as rich as me, or as charismatic, or as good-looking or just straight-up talented, but naw. What sets me apart from you is my relationship to the past. It takes a lot to wear your father’s name, but part of that is being shackled to everything that came before you. I choose to reject that. I bury my past and drink that good future in deep! So who walks out of this in the black? The past with eyes on the future, or the future stuck in the past? If I had to bet? I know where my money is going.
Until then, I’m gonna just keep digging. I got more than enough to bury before I get to you, kid.
Flashing a grin and a wink to the camera, Hearst slides his shades back-up over his steely grays and saunters off, humming aloud some breezy tune, off to who knows where. Before cutting away, the camera spares just enough time to turn its attention down to the ditch, and where the beer sacrificed prior had poured, the sand cleared away, allowing the viewing audience a brief glance of the front of a t-shirt … seemingly worn, the letters “D___ __tler” clear enough to be made out. The camera then cuts back to the action.
Singles Match
Devin Hearst VS Marcus Ali Jr.Millennium debut for Hearst after his successful comeback match against Envy on Riot. Against him wasMarcus Ali, looking to bounce back after losing to another former World champion in Duke Andrews. Easier to be said than done for the Bad Boy who immediately realized that he was fighting an uphill battle. He tried to challenge Hearst to a brawl in the middle of the ring but the founder of Sandstorm was up for the task, holding his own against the former boxer. A knee to the gut allowed Devin to get the advantage and sent Marcus into the ropes, leveling him with a polish hammer on the rebound. Keeping his usual slow and methodical pace, Devin proceeded to attack the Bad Boy with stomps to the head. He then pulled Marcus to his feet, he reacted with a forearm to the face and Hearst answered with a vicious headbutt that dazed the former All-American. Against a former boxer it seemed only fair that the Big Boss would use his stiff closed right fist to make a statement, flooring the leader of the Bad Boyz. And who cares if that earned him a warning from the referee or if he apparently hurt his own hands in the process? The opponent was down and the fans were chanting his name, for once supportive and appreciative of his actions. Confidence was never something Hearst lacked, but the dominance shown in the early minutes and the new found synergy with the fans boosted it even further, to the point where he became complacent and started toying with the opponent. That was when Marcus reminded him why he should never be underestimated, catching Devin by surprise with a throat jab. Hearst began coughing, clutching his neck trying to catch his breath. Marcus took a run at the ropes and knocked Devin flat on his back with a running bicycle knee. Wasting no time, Ali sat on the former champion’s chest and began throwing lefts and rights at his face. Hearst tried to protect himself, blocking most of those shots and eventually rolled over, switching positions and finding himself mounting on top of the Bad Boy. He only hit him with one punch before Marcus managed to raise his leg and push up against the former Dog Of War torso, flipping him over and sending him flat on his back. Both men got up to their feet and collided in the middle of the ring in another exchange of strikes. This time Ali got the upper hand and sent Hearst into the corner with an Irish whip. The impact was so hard that Devin bounced back toward the center of the ring, right into a massive spear from Marcus. Ali hooked the leg for a cover but Dev kicked out in two. This served as a wake up call for the former World champ. No more games, no more wasting time or delays to play with the crowd. And a cheeky eye rake to interrupt Marcus’ offense on which Hearst quickly capitalized with his patented Desperado (throwing release suplex). Ali kicked out of the pinning predicament that followed and crawled to the corner, using the ropes to pick himself up. Devin calmly walked behind him and drove his face into the turnbuckle. He then lifted the former boxer and sat him on the top rope so that his back was turned to the center of the ring. Climbing up as well, Hearst then connected a big German suplex. Marcus did a complete flip in air, landing on his chest. Hearst smiled, seeing him in position for his Night Rider. Standing up in the corner, Devin waited for him to get on all fours to run and step on his back, prompting himself in the air to connect the double foot stomp for the win. WINNER: Devin Hearst BY: Pinfall (Night Rider), Time |
The return to the ring starts with the dimming of the lights and the crowd perking up slightly. We then hear the opening sounds of ‘Unsainted’ and the crowd is giving a mixed reaction toward the veteran who is associated with that music. As soon as the lyrics of the music kick in, Iser busts through the curtain with a little less of a limp than the previous week and a little less wrapping on the bandage from the Cage of Atonement on his head. The veteran is ignoring the middle fingers and hands sent out for support as it seems he’s marching down with a purpose; the man’s face is stern and focused.
He pulls himself up to the ring and wants the microphone and nobody is denying the veteran that. It seems he has a few things to say before he competes in his tag team match. The lights coming back to normal properly show that he’s wearing a black and silver variant of his wrestling gear with a silver knee brace. The man brushes his regrowing hair out of his eyes, nodding his head and signaling for the music to be cut off. There is a mixed but loud reception for the former World Champion and as the crowd is reacting, Seth is content to let them get some of it out of their system, taking his time.
Seth Iser:
I would ask ‘Do I have your attention’ but…let me do everyone a favor and just say yes…I think everyone’s listening real close right now.
There’s a half of a smile on Iser’s face as a couple of those boos have started to shift to cheers though the reception is still mixed toward the old man.
Seth Iser:
It seems that Lowri Moss…
Seth is interrupted by cheers when he mentions the current FGA World Champion’s name and again the veteran pauses for a moment.
Seth Iser:
I get it…sheesh, you love the native from Wales. I already knew that when I wrestled her the first time a couple years ago. I dislike most people and even I don’t dislike her personally.
Again, more cheers from the crowd as Seth shakes his head at them not showing real emotion, just offering a brief shake of the head but he continues.
Seth Iser:
Now…it feels like Lowri Moss and I are just attached at the hip. Last week over in San Diego for this company on main event television we tore into each other looking to see who will be positioned to move up in the standings here. Was told when I came back through the curtain that we went at it for about twenty minutes…and I fooled Lowri. I made her believe I was in worse shape then I actually was when she kicked me. Convinced her…convinced the ref, convinced many of the people at home as well.
He pauses for a moment and it seems again it’s a mixed reception for him as he just considers the reaction and takes a step forward nodding his head, owning it.
Seth Iser:
Never let your guard down for a second until the bell rings against someone like me. I might not outsprint most of the locker room in a straight forty yard dash but all I need is a tenth of a second of hesitation to prey on your mistake! The moment Lowri let her guard down as I was inching my way toward her…she got DDT’d. That was all I needed. I won the round in San Diego.
Again, mixed reception at the restatement of the fact though he rubs the bandage over his head for a moment before getting to the particular point where the last blow connected on his side of the head before shaking it briefly.
Seth Iser:
For the record though…that last forearm that she tagged me with beforehand. That hurt like hell.
There’s a lower rasp when he admits that…almost obvious fact.
Seth Iser:
Then we went to Boston…
The moment he names the city the arena boos. This might not be New York per say but there is absolutely no love for Boston and Seth just pauses for a moment listening.
Seth Iser:
You don’t like Boston?
The crowd then reverts to cheers when Seth just asks that question as he just walks over to the corner and leans back on it shaking his head with half of a smirk.
Seth Iser:
I can’t say I care for them too much either at the moment because after nearly thirty minutes Lowri learned her lesson and pinned my ass in the middle of the ring meaning we split our little series. But even with that…here we are! We can’t get away from one another. I told her earlier today that it was like Groundhog day…but it might be more like Hotel California at this point, you can check out but you can’t ever leave.
There are few cheers from older people and Seth just cocks an eyebrow toward that and can’t help himself.
Seth Iser:
You know that song is four years older than me, right?
The other shoe drops and the rest of the crowd starts to understand that a little bit more through Seth’s biting sarcasm but the man continues.
Seth Iser:
But regardless I find myself in an interesting situation here. Lowri is again on the opposite side as you know but teaming with Melissa Reeves…
There’s a loud cheer from the audience as the veteran’s name is mentioned. Again Seth just raises an eyebrow listening to the reaction.
Seth Iser:
Same one that had a ref rob her of becoming a two time champ and that god damn ref still owes everyone of us from the ring crew to you people to all of us professional wrestlers an apology for that kind of mistake!
That line again gets Seth cheered but you can see his face darken slightly as he gets to his next point.
Seth Iser:
Yeah the same one that held the title for a hundred and seventy days. I was just thirteen days short of that mark…
A little sense of bitterness does creep into his voice stating that. The bitterness does get the man more of a negative response since he is advocating for violence against an official in that instance.
Seth Iser:
It’s the damned truth! But she’s teaming with Lowri tonight and I am teaming with the tag specialist Jessica Lasiewicz…and hell, she beat Melissa last week on national television with a move almost as old as the sport itself.
He pauses for a moment and considers the situation further before just nodding his head.
Seth Iser:
She wants to get back in the tag picture…hell, maybe she could come around to the idea that she could have both a tag and singles career here. She’s shown capable enough of singles glory in other promotions. But she doesn’t have anything to worry about on my end…we’re on the same side tonight and the goal should be getting your hand raised in victory. And I’ll do what I have to in order to make sure our side is the one getting our hands raised…it might not be the same as singles but I’m greedy…I’d want to win every damn match I can. The end goal is BROOKFORD after all…
He then has that intense look taking over on his face as he steps back toward the center with more aggression.
Seth Iser:
But tonight is another chance to prove why I am the leader of this!
He does the trio symbol, the unity of the Triumvirate and that gets him booed but that doesn’t seem to phase Iser in the slightest.
Seth Iser:
I will get to prove why people put me on lists just wanting the opportunity to see where the hell they stand with the Greatest Mind in ALL of Professional goddamn Wrestling!
You can see the vein starting to show up on his forehead as the intensity is really picking up as is his tone as he steps forward.
Seth Iser:
And it won’t matter who is standing across from me in the ring…Duke’s whiny and delusional ass next week, to the popular and proven Lowri and Melissa…to hell, even the god damn Dalek’s homicidal ass. I’d gladly DDT that damned robot for that god damn chip incident anyway! It doesn’t matter to me! I helped redefine an entire style of professional wrestling! I even added tricks to the most deceitful style of our sport! And in due time…before I hang these damn boots up, I will repeat as World Champion here! The next step is tonight…so come on down! We have a match to see if you two can prove me wrong!
With that there’s a spike of the microphone that creates that static from Seth who has gotten himself a little more fired up then usual for this ordeal as again that slight smirk at the challenge ahead has creeped onto his face.
A Millenium Banner is in the background, but the foreground has Billy Danielson looking pretty frustrated. All he wants to do is win titles and be great, but instead, he’s stuck in a tag team match against “Lil” Peirce Manning and his girlfriend with Garret Prichard JR. as his tag team partner. It wasn’t ideal, but there was a bit of enthusiasm behind his frustration.
Billy Danielson:
I’m not happy about tonight.
Billy’s grimace intensifies, as he continues to complain. He is not in the best of moods.
Billy Danielson:
I may be a multi-time tag team champion, but I didn’t come here to be a tag team wrestler. I have no intentions of making friends or creating matching gear and ring entrances. MWE World Champion, Cloud Gate Champion, Riot Championship, the… minor… singles championships. Those are what I am after, and that means I’m not looking to tag and team and hold somebody else’s hand through a match.
He pauses for a moment. Billy seems like he is going to burst, but instead, he takes a deep breath.
Billy Danielson:
But I guess I’m here for a good time, not a long time, huh?
A shrug from Danielson, literally shrugging off that frustration he had just seconds ago.
Billy Danielson:
Plus, it could be worse. Neal isn’t terrible, and I’ll never say no to beating up on Lil Peirce and Meg.
Danielson’s face relaxes almost completely, accepting his fate as a reluctant tag team wrestler for the night.
Billy Danielson:
This doesn’t mean I’m happy about this. I’m willing to tag with the kid for the night and show him what it’s like to run on a level he has only dreamed of, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to face him. I’d much rather put up with Neal’s “Noncommital Shrug” gifs than Lil Peirce and Meg, who has been a thorn in my side since the beginning, doesn’t mean I don’t want to exact my revenge for him costing me my shot at being Cloud Gate Champion.
His face started to show frustration with his position, but he clasps his hands together and smiles through it.
Billy Danielson:
But that’s the next show’s problem. Tonight, it’s me and Neal Durden against the worst couple in wrestling, and I’m not walking away without the win. I hope the kid can just keep up, because if not… well… it won’t matter, because I’ve beaten Peirce and Meg both on my own, so it shouldn’t be too hard.
Billy continues to play it cool as he finishes up his promo, but he seems like he may have an ulterior motive behind his happiness.
Billy Danielson:
I’m excited to see everyone out there… and to leave them all in a heap at the end of all of this!
Danielson smirks one last time as he walks offset. The message is clear that he’s going to win one way or another…
Tag Team Match
Billy Danielson & Gareth Prichard Jr. VS Megan Monroe & Pierce Manning
Billy and Gareth were already in the ring, not too thrilled about having to team up but at the same time looking forward to getting payback on Megan and Pierce, guilty of interrupting their match one week ago. That episode surely left the San Diego fans disappointed, and those who came here tonight in Albany were bound to suffer the same fate. Megan and Pierce walked out hand in hand, both of them dressed to the nines. They reiterated the same concept they expressed on Twitter, claiming that this match was not worth their time. Billy Danielson let out a disappointed but not entirely surprised chuckle, watching as the two members of the Triumvirate turned around and walked back through the curtain. He then turned to Gareth, saying that since they were both here, they might as well continue last week’s match, settling this once and for all. The fans loved the idea, but the Artist Formerly Known As Neal Durden gave his characteristic noncommittal shrug at the Franchise and left the ring. WINNER: // BY: //, 0:00 |
Backstage we see Lowri Moss wandering along a corridor, her eyes shifting from side to side, as she looks for someone. Dressed in her ring attire, she continues onward for a couple more seconds, before a smile crosses her face, when she finds the person that she is after.
Lowri Moss:
Hey, Melissa!
Reeves looks up from her phone, videos of tonight’s opponents playing on the screen when she lowers it.
Melissa Reeves:
Ah, Lowri, howdy.
There is a brief smile from Melissa too.
Lowri Moss:
Ready to go out there and have some fun then?
Lowri is referring to a tweet sent earlier in the day by Mel, who nods.
Melissa Reeves:
You know me, I’m always ready and eager.
She clicks her phone screen off.
Melissa Reeves:
I don’t have to tell you that our opposition tonight are, well, they’re two talented people. But you and I are two of the best here too, our history shows that. It’s going to be a collision between two forces, in a way.
Lowri nods in agreement.
Lowri Moss:
Yeah, I’ve been in the ring with both Seth and Jessica multiple times– one more recently than the other, obviously.
That of course being Seth, with Lowri having beaten him this past Saturday, to split their pair of matches at 1-1, after Seth beat her last Wednesday.
Lowri Moss:
They’re both accomplished wrestlers, but… I fancy our chances. And I’m looking forward to getting to team with you.
Again, Reeves smiles.
Melissa Reeves:
Me too, to both parts. We both know what we’re capable of, we’ve been around each other a lot and I might even venture as far as to say it’s allowed us to become friends because of it. Now, together, well that makes for a formidable team.
The smile becomes more of a smirk.
Melissa Reeves:
And a suitable challenge for us to face, that makes it all very exciting. But hey, after this, we should catch up a bit. Feels like we’ve not done that in a while.
Lowri’s smile broadens.
Lowri Moss:
Well, that might have something to do with the fact that until not long ago, one of us hadn’t been around for a number of months.
She gives a playful wink.
Lowri Moss:
But seriously, yeah, alright. It would be good to have a proper catch up, maybe get a drink. Let’s just make sure that we’ll be drinking to celebrate a win though, not drinking to get over a loss.
Melissa lightly giggles and shakes her head.
Melissa Reeves:
Feeling very blamed there. But yeah, we will do that. First, though, we have to go and get that win. I’m ready, I know you’re ready, so let’s rock.
Standing, Mel gives Lowri a playful nudge, before they head off to prepare for their upcoming bout.
We cut backstage at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. There we find “The Archangel” Jessica Lasiewicz, she is dressed in all blank wrestling gear and a hooded leather coat. One half of the Fabulous duo is not alone; standing a few feet away, with her trusty Dalek, is Jessica’s half-sister, “The Woman Scorned” Kimberly Williams.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Don’t get me wrong, Kim, I appreciate your support, but…
Lasiewicz turns and motions to the Dalek.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
...why do you insist upon me babysitting that thing?
Dalek:
DALEKS DO NOT NEED A BABYSITTER!
Kimberly Williams:
“You’re not babysitting him, Jess. He is a good luck charm. He was with you against Melissa Reeves and guess what? You won!”
Lasiewicz rolls her eyes.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
It had nothing to do with luck, Kim. I beat her because of my skill. I was better than Reeves on that night. Besides, this thing will only be a distraction!
Dalek:
DALEKS ARE NOT A DISTRACTION!
Jessica Lasiewicz:
The hell you aren’t! I have to team with Seth Iser tonight and that is bad enough because I do not trust him. I don’t trust him any more than I can throw him…”
Kimberly Williams:
In fairness you ARE rather strong, Jess. You could potentially throw him.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Shut up, Kim. You know what I mean. Point is, I don’t trust Seth and that already is going to make for a bad situation. The fact that this genocidal tin can is going to accompany me to the ring makes things worse.
Kimberly pats the Dalek on its chromed dome top.
Kimberly Williams:
How could you say that Dalek would make things worse?
Jessica Lasiewicz:
He HATES the Dalek!
Kimberly Williams:
Good point…
The Archangel sighs.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Look, the Dalek can come to the ring with me, but I’m not going to babysit the stupid thing. I’m focused on winning. Tonight may not be the most desirable situation for me, having to team with Seth and all, but this is a big match scenario, I can pick up another win over Melissa, and a win over Lowri to boot. I need to keep the momentum going and I cannot afford any distractions.
Lasiewicz glares down at the Dalek.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Are we clear?
Dalek:
UNDERSTOOD!
Lasiewicz turns and walks away. The Dalek follows closely behind
Tag Team Match
Melissa Reeves & Lowri Moss VS Jessica Lasiewicz & Seth Iser
Without a doubt, the most intriguing match on tonight’s card, a tag team match featuring four of MWE’s greatest stars and arguably possible future contenders to the World Title. Two of them, Melissa Reeves and Seth Iser, already hold the company’s top prize while Lowri Moss and Jessica Lasiewicz have never held the big one here in MWE, but they’re no strangers to gold. They were also the two chosen to start the match, Lowri tested the Archangel’s defenses with some kicks to the thighs. Jessica answered with a kick to the side that Moss blocked. Jessica telegraphed the enziguri and the Welsh easily ducked it. Lasiewicz crashed on the canvas and got dragged in the corner by Lowri. Melissa made the tag and, joining forces with her partner, lifted Jessica for a double suplex, attempting the first pinning predicament of the match for a count of two. Jessica seemed to have Mel’s number and, after beating her last week, she knocked her down tonight with the Our Lady Peace. The Archangel made the cover but Lowri entered the ring and broke up the pin. Despite a certain skepticism, Jessica and Seth tried to work together. Seth lifted the Reaver for a backbreaker and Lasiewicz hit her with a running knee to the head, but their combined effort wasn’t enough to keep the former World champion down. The clash between the two former world champs saw Iser relatively in control, thanks to his superior strength and size advantage. The fact that Mel had been in the ring for much longer than him was certainly another factor that made it easier for the Deity Of Destruction to stay on top. The Australian tried a reaction with some forearms to the face, but Iser grabbed her by the shoulders and launched her into a neutral corner. He followed with a running big boot but Mel moved out of the way and Seth kicked nothing but the empty turnbuckle. The blowback painted an expression of pure pain on the veteran’s face as the injured knee was affected. This was an opportunity the Reaver couldn’t miss, taking the former champ down with a dragon screw leg whip and began to kick him behind the knee. FInally getting the opportunity to make the tag and catch a break, Mel decided to take it but not before jumping with both feet on the big man’s chest. Lowri picked up where her partner left, working on Iser’s leg with stiff kicks and the occasional submission. And it was during one of those that the former World champ turned things around. Lowri was not known as a technical wizard, and her execution wasn’t exactly perfect, giving the grizzled veteran the chance to reverse the pressure. Now caught in a painful submission, Moss clawed and dragged herself to the ropes, getting the much needed break. Seth clotheslined her out of the ring and limped to his corner where he tagged Jessica in. The two women battled for a few minutes, trading strikes and near falls. They ended up knocking each other down when they both went for a superkick at the same moment. The referee started a double count, getting all the way to six before the two women began to move. While Lowri’s first idea was to crawl to her corner, Jessica didn’t go for the tag. She tried to stop the Welsh, grabbing her foot and putting her in the Four Card Trick. Lowri was in big trouble, screaming in pain as she tried to stretch toward Melissa. The tag was made, Lasiewicz immediately let go of Moss as soon as she realized that Reeves was now the legal woman. She stood up, ready to face her. But a brutal Magnitude Nine kick knocked her down. Mel made the cover, Seth entered the ring to break up the pin but Lowri, even on one leg, stopped the big man by throwing herself in the way. An unorthodox and painful way, but one that secured the win for her team. WINNER: Melissa Reeves & Lowri Moss BY: Pinfall (Magnitude Nine), 18:14 |
Once again we follow Olly as he paces the hallway backstage, minutes before the main event. What is he up to this time? Well, apparently his intentions are to speak with his partner for the night, Julian Savell. Before he does that though, he needs to go through his bodyguard, SABER’s agent Rebekkah.
Olly:
Hey Bek. Is Julian in there?
He asks the former IDF, showing a certain familiarity with her. Apparently, beating up Lucie Callaway last week was something they bound on. Rebekkah flashes Olly a rare smile before she nods toward the door.
Rebekkah Katz:
He’s in there. He’s been waiting for you.
She steps aside to let Olly through. He thanks her with a nod and walks past the woman, entering Julian’s locker room.
Olly:
The twins should not be an issue. We made a deal and I kept up my end of the bargain. Hopefully they’ll do the same and stay out of our business.
Olly fills his partner in on the truce he called with Aliyah and Annica.
Olly:
This way we can focus on destroying that trio of bitches and get some payback for Faith.
Julian, who was sitting in front of a mirror, took the mask that was in front of him and he put it on. He then stood up and turned toward Olly before nodding.
Julian Savell:
You don’t have to worry. That bitch will get what’s coming to her. I won’t allow her to do anything to you, me or anyone else in our circle again. What happened to Faith? Lucie will feel it tenfold. Truce or no truce, nobody will stand in our way of doing that. You hear me?
The Academy graduate kept a serious look on his face, nodding at the masked man.
Olly:
Damn right. We would’ve closed this chapter last week if it wasn’t for that bitch, Tiffany coming to save her. She should’ve just stayed out of our business, but that dumb midget never learns.
He shrugged his shoulders.
Olly:
But who am I to stop someone from throwing their career away, if that’s what they want? Besides, this gives me another chance to teach Clyde a lesson…
Julian shook his head before placing a hand on Olly’s shoulder.
Julian Savell:
It’s not about teaching a lesson anymore, Olly. It’s about sending a message and I mean that about both of them. Tiffany needs to feel pain and Clyde?
Savell laughed and shook his head.
Julian Savell:
It’s not your fault if you end his career this time. If that fat fuck moron wants to keep on getting up and testing you? Then it’s time to end him. It’s time to decimate and destroy him and the rest of them and put Millennium on notice. We aren’t ones to be fucked with and we can end anyone at a moments notice.
Those words reached deep inside Olly, stoking that fire that was already burning in the young man.
Olly:
You’re right, Julian. Playtime is over, no more fucking around. Tonight is the night of regrets.
Lucie will regret what she did to Faith.
Tiffany will regret the days she was an orphan, she’ll regret choosing a family that cost her the career.
And Clyde will regret getting up from the hospital bed I put him in the first time.
Julian nodded in agreement.
Julian Savell:
Now we’re talking. You know, you’re kind of a chip off the old block. I know you’ll make me and especially Faith proud out there. Now let’s go spill some blood.
TLC Trios Match
K2O & Julian Savell VS Clyde Eldon Jr & Tiff & Lucie Callaway
Peyton Holland: “Brace yourselves, this one is going to be intense.” Ambra Monroe: “We heard Julian and Olly, this is not even a match for them. They’re out for blood tonight.” Peyton Holland: “And you can bet Lucie is feeling the same. We all saw what she did to Faith with a chair, I don’t think she has any problem doing the same to her boyfriend.” Peyton Holland: “And let’s not forget the tension… WHOA!” Ambra Monroe: “Well, looks like we don’t have to wait for the bell. I’m just going to pretend to be shocked.” While Olly and Karen were making their way to the ring, Julian and Rebekkah came in from the crowd, behind the opposing trio’s shoulders. Savell entered the ring and his bodyguard immediately handed him a ladder he used to level all three opponents. The former tag champions then rushed in and began to stomp the opponents with Olly getting on Clyde leaving Karen with Tiffany. Julian, instead, was bringing it to Lucie, though it wasn’t long before he was joined by Olly after he kicked Clyde out of the ring. Savell then picked up Callaway and locked her arms behind her back, holding her up for Olly. Rebekkah grabbed a chair and handed it to the former tag team champion who lifted it over his head ready to smack Lucie’s skull with it. CEJ came back in the ring and grabbed the chair before Olly could swing it and snatched it from his grasp. At the same time Lucie broke free from Julian with a mule kick right between his legs. Clyde tossed her the chair and jumped on Olly with a Thesz press. starting to pound at his face with lefts and rights. Callaway grabbed the chair in mid-air and, in one fluid motion, smashed it across Savell’s skull. She rushed to make the first pinfall but Karen broke it up in one. Eldon barely got up to her feet when she ate a Death Kick from Rollins. Rebekkah dragged the former tag team champion out of the ring before Tiff could make the cover. Peyton Holland: “That’s how you start a match… This is going to be hectic, brutal and hard to call the action of.” Ambra Monroe: “I don’t see the pace slowing down at any point. We knew this was going to be chaotic, but this is ridiculous. It’s hard to even keep track, I don’t envy the referee.” Peyton Holland: “Oh yeah, he’s got his work cut out for him, that’s for sure. Remember, while tables, ladders and chairs are all legal, the match can only end with a pinfall or a submission.” Not even five minutes in and the ring already looked like a warzone. The ladder Julian brought in at the very beginning of the match was still there with Karen stuck between the side rails after Lucie slammed the top one on her body. The former Chicago Way champion was double teaming Julian along with her niece, all while Olly was busy tucking a chair between the top and middle set of ropes in the corner. He picked up Clyde and launched him head first into it, quickly turning around to help Julian. He ran across the ring and hit Callaway with a jumping knee to the back of the head, a Random Act Of Violence to knock her down. Tiffany got distracted for a brief moment by her aunt going down like a ton of bricks, and that gave Julian the opening to rake her eyes and hit her with a headbutt. She stumbled back right into a terrific chair shot to the back from Olly who then dropped the weapon and invited Julian to drop the former Cloud Gate champion onto it with a DDT. The Savior made the cover while Olly made sure Lucie couldn’t save Tiff. Luckily for the Five Foot Murder Machine her tag partner had the brilliant idea to grab the chair Olly had stuck in the corner and throw it with absolute precision on Julian, breaking the pin. Ambra Monroe: “Good thinking, Clyde!” Peyton Holland: “He saved Tiff on this occasion, but they need to step up their game if they want to survive. Olly and Julian weren’t kidding when they said they’re going to end their careers.” The duo started to raise the bar of the violence, especially when they were dealing with Lucie. As much as the fans were hating to see them getting the upper hand, they couldn’t deny that their plan was working, and they were doing a great job keeping the numbers game to their advantage. One of their opponents was always out of the ring, thus allowing two of them to double team another one while the third was taking care of the last opponent. That was until Lucie did something about it, grabbing a ladder from under the ring and ramming it up through the ropes into Olly’s ribs as he was chopping the hell out of Clyde. She then used it as a ramp, running up it to leap over the top rope and take out both Julian and Karen with a crossbody. Clyde then got rid of Olly, using their strategy against them and getting for the first time in the match, the numbers advantage. They exploited this situation fully, laying down the punishment on Julian and Karen with the help of the perfectly legal chairs. Peyton Holland: “Absolutely reckless move by Lucie, but this time the high risk paid out.” Ambra Monroe: “If there was one flaw in Olly’s, Julian’s and Karen’s plan, that’d be that their opponent can steal it and use it against them.” We got chairs, we got ladders and now it was time for tables. One had been set up right outside the ring, and Julian was inches away from it, standing dangerously on the apron hanging onto the top rope with both hands. At least until Lucie jumped over his head and put him through it with a sunset flip powerbomb that prompted a “Holy Shit” chant from the fans. Another one was leaning against the corner, but that one as well exploded into pieces when Clyde speared his mother through it. The four of them were out and that meant that Olly and Tiff were likely to decide the outcome of the match for the respective teams. Things weren’t looking good for the former Cloud Gate champion, bleeding from above her eye after Olly’s Leap Of Faith. And now the former tag team champion was going for the kill, sitting Tiff in the corner and resting the chair on her face. He took a few steps back, ready to go for another Random Act Of Violence. The fans began to cheer loudly, clearly not because they wanted to see Olly succeed. The reason was that someone just jumped the barricade, someone the former tag team champion was quite familiar with. Peyton Holland: “That’s SKYLYNN REED!” Ambra Monroe: “For those who don’t know her, she’s Tiff’s girlfriend and a former Valiant superstar. Back there, a couple of months ago, she… Bumped heads with Olly a few times.” Sky slid under the bottom rope and quickly got up to her feet, ducking under Olly’s clothesline and hitting him with a dropkick. Reed then removed the chair from Tiff’s head and slammed it on Olly’s back. At this point Rebekkah decided to interfere, but she was slowed down by Lucie. That gave Clyde time to get up and knock Julian’s bodyguard down with a baseball slide, knocking down Callaway as well in the process. Skylynn positioned the chair under Olly’s face and curb stomped him onto it, connecting her For Someone’s Glory. The fans erupted in cheers as Reed turned her attention on Karen, who was slowly getting up to her feet, unaware of Sky's presence. Eldon as well fell victim of Someone's Glory while a dazed Tiff crawled on top of Olly to make the cover and obtain the win for her team. WINNER: Tiff, CLyde Eldon Jr. & Lucie Callaway BY: Pinfall (For Someone's Glory), 26:17 |
