The Lunch Room February 23rd, 2022 1:10 PM
Cutting inside the lunch room, we spot Gabriel Landry sitting alone at his table, far away from the rest of the students. In the past few weeks the young man seems to have been drifting on a dark path, growing more violent and threatening, especially toward Erika Eldon who injured him. This apparently has been driving a wedge between him and the students, with the exception of Jasper. The first ever Gold Star can be seen walking toward Gabe, taking a seat in front of him.
Jasper King: Hey buddy… You doing alright?
Gabriel looks up from what he is eating to look at his tag team partner. He nods.
Gabriel Landry: I’m doing ok. I miss Karen, can’t wait to see her this weekend. Always cherish the time you spend with loved ones.
Jasper King: Yeah… I guess..
King shrugs his shoulders. Unlike his friend, he’s going to spend his weekend here in the Academy.
Jasper King: You saw the card, right? We’re teaming again this Friday, and Walker is going to be the third musketeer! Not gonna lie, I’m PUMPED!
Gabriel Landry: Yeah... it's unfortunate Evelyn and Emma have to carry Rainer. They should do the right thing, leave Rainer to me.
Gabe smirks.
Jasper King: Yeah, I kinda wanted to talk about that, actually…
Jasper says in a low voice, barely eyeing up at his friend while taking big mouthfuls of his lunch.
Jasper King: I know you want to kick his ass… I mean, who wouldn’t after what he did to you? I totally get it and I support you 100%, of course. Just.. I don’t know, you’ve been a bit odd these past weeks.
Gabe pauses to digest everything that Jasper told him. He scratches the top of his forward.
Gabriel Landry: Having a douchebag send his brain dead girlfriend to hurt you kinda leaves a mark.
Gabe shrugs his shoulders.
Gabriel Landry: You’re the only one I trust around here. The rest of them? Emma and Evelyn are nice people I guess. This Walker guy? How much do we know about him? And the other new person? I’m good. All I want is two things. One, make Rainer and Erika pay for being certified sociopaths and getting the Gold Star opportunity the both of them delayed me of. It should have been me instead of Addison.
Jasper King: I think Walker is pretty cool.. But I get what you mean, you earned your shot and then they took you out and you never cashed that in. You still got it though, right? I remember Gian saying that you’ll have your match, when you were injured.
Doing his best to support his friend while trying to make him see how this “obsession”, as justified as it may be, won’t do him any good, Jasper continues.
Jasper King: And yeah, it sucks that you can’t beat Rain Man for it. But you WILL beat him, and you WILL become the next Gold Star.
Gabriel Landry: Damn right I will.
Gabriel smiles.
Gabriel Landry: If you trust Walker, that’s good enough for me. Jasper, I appreciate that you’re worried. If the shoe was on the other foot, I would be having this exact conversation with you. It’s just... not that I expected everything would be sunshine and rainbows. I was hoping I would get to the main roster first before someone tried ending my career.
This does make Gabriel chuckle a little.
Gabriel Landry: Anyway. All I want is for them to pay. That’s it. I am not going to end any chance they have of becoming successful professionals later on. A little justice can’t hurt. You believe me right?
Jasper King: That means no more bat, right?
Gabriel nods as the two share a laugh.
Jasper King: Not gonna lie, at first it looked cool AF! But at the same time, it was scary. I never seen that side of you and… I don’t think I want to. You’re better than them, I’d hate to see you stoop to their level.
After a brief pause, he continues.
Jasper King: I can’t wait for Friday to come to see you whoop Rain Man’s ass, man…
The camera cuts, leaving the two of them eating their meals.
Strange Bedfellows Tag Team Match Bebe LeBeau & Shaina Sheridan VS Devin Levandrier & Luis Rivera
- In an unexpected turn of events, Lady Magdalena announced that Addison will be replaced by Devin Levandrier in this tag match. In addition to that, she will also be left off the card of episode 18.
- The Canadian wasted no time going after Bebe, rocking her with an uppercut that sent her into the ropes. As she bounced back, Devin powerslammed her into the canvas.
- As LeBeau got on all fours, trying to get herself up, Levandrier kicked her in the gut, dropping her back on the canvas.
- Shaina was very supportive of her tag partner, more so after Devin made the tag to Luis and the new student started using LeBeau as a punching bag for his swift combos.
- While his background made those punching combinations extremely dangerous, Rivera was still adapting to wrestling. Bebe exploited this situation and caught him with a neckbreaker.
- Sheridan was now in the ring, using her speed to dodge Luis' punches and trying to catch him off guard with quick pinning predicaments, coming very close to the three with a sunset flip.
- At the end of a hard combinations of kicks, culminating in a roundhouse, Shaina went for a diving crossbody but she got shot down with a big punch.
- Once again it was Bebe and Devin in the ring. The second generation wrestler executed a fisherman suplex but LeBeau kicked out.
- Quickly exiting through the ropes, Bebe moved out of Devin's stinger splash's way, causing the young man to crash into the turnbuckle. As he stumbled back to the center of the ring, LeBeau climbed to the top rope and jumped on him with a meteora. Rivera rushed inside the ring and made the last minute save.
- A tilt-a-whirl backbreaker gave Devin the opening he needed to tag the San Diego kid back in. Luis charged at Bebe and planted her on her head with a running ddt.
- Bebe fought with everything she had, managing to knock Luis down with a superkick and hooking his leg for a deep cover. Devin rushed in and so did Shaina, trying to stop him. The Videoblogger was slightly too slow, and Levandrier was able to save his partner. Shaina pushed the Canadian over the top rope with a clothesline, cleaning the ring. The landing on the floor below wasn't the softest for Sheridan, who remained down licking her wounds. And when Bebe needed her the most, looking for a tag after a devastating left-right combo from the former boxer, she wasn't there in the corner. With no choice but to keep fighting, Bebe turned around into a right hook from Luis. He made the cover and picked up another win, keeping the streak going.
WINNER: Luis Rivera & Devin Levandrier BY: Right Hook, 12:19 |
Team Title Match Trios Match
Team Noir © (Gabriel Landry & Walker & Jasper King) VS Team Strike (Rainer Nordhagen & Emma Wakefield & Evelyn Carter)
- The difference between the two team was clear since before the sound of the bell. The three members of Team Noir were definitely on the same page, discussing the best approach and agreein to leave Rainer to Gabriel. On Team Strike, instead, the former Gold Star seemed more focused on convincing his tag partners that they were indeed part of Team Rainer rather than come up with a plan for the opposing trio.
- Eventually the match started with Evelyn taking on the King Of Pumpkins. Her speed gave her an early advantage, as she pushed the big man into the corner with a shotgun dropkick.
- Her subsequent running splash in the corner attempt was countered by Jasper who just slammed her into the canvas.
- Gabriel tagged in and climbed on his friend's shoulders, jumping from there and landing on top of Vi with a 450 splash. Rainer saved "his" team with a vivious stomp to Gabe's head.
- Before Landry could react and get his hands on him, Rainer left the ring. This obviously frustrated Gabe who lashed out on Evelyn. Binded by rage, his strikes lacked precision and Vi could easily dodge them, taking him down with a russian legsweep.
- After she made the tag to Emma, the two girls worked together with a double suplex, too little to keep Gabe down.
- Emma did a great job keeping the high-flyier grounded, showing great versatility and adaptability. Things took a bad turn for her when Gabe connected with an enziguri kick on the injured shoulder. That seriously affected her offense, mostly a psychological thing, a legit fear to be forced on the sidelines again.
- She grew extremely careful, fearful even. All that made i too easy for Gabriel to gain ground and coming close to victory with a hurricanrana.
- Finally getting a break, Emma managed to reach Rainer in the corner. Before she could tag him in, though, the former Gold Star leaped off the apron, refusing to get in the ring with "that psychopath". Luckily for Emma, Evelyn was there to offer her an option and granting her a much needed break.
- A huge running single leg dropkick to the face knocked down Gabriel, close to his corner. Before Evelyn could capitalize on the big move, Landry made the tag to Walker.
- Both favoring a quick pace, Vi and Walker put on an exciting contest. Acrobatic moves, quick pinning predicaments and a lot of counters to keep the opponents on the edge of their seats for a good five minutes. It ended with a spectacular tornado DDT from Walker.
- The Noir Trio worked well together over the next minutes, isolating Evelyn in their corner with frequent tags. The young Carter barely survived a spinebuster from Jasper, kicking out a millisecond before the three.
- Gabriel kept attacking Evelyn, "using" her to taunt Rainer, asking him to come and try to stop him. Nordhagen, obviously, didn't seem to care: But when Landry sent Vi into the ropes with an Irish whip, he made a sneaky blind tag. Perhaps something he picked up from Andreas Lasiewicz' seminar? Who knows... What's important was that Gabe didn't see it coming and focused on Evelyn, who ducked under his clothesline to continue her run to the opposite side of the ring. As soon as he turned his back to the enemy's corner, the former Gold Star entered the ring and hit him with an inverted DDT. Evelyn quickly turned around and dropkicked Walker off the apron. Then, with the help of Emma, blocked Jasper from breaking up the pin. Neither them nor the referee saw Rainer using the ropes for extra-leverage, a move that granted him the three and the titles for Team Strike.
WINNER: Team Strike BY: Pinfall (Inverted DDT), 19:55 |
