Singles Match
Devon Slayton VS Kate SteeleAt the sound of the bell, Kate darted out of her corner and rushed Devon. She caught him off guard and cornered him before unloading with an assault of punches and kicks, connecting with stinging blow after stinging blow. She then fired away with two back to back kicks to the stomach. Slayton lunged over from the kicks only to get his head grabbed and a knee driven into his face. He stumbled back and slammed against the turnbuckle, receiving a couple more kicks in his open mid section. Kate stepped away and quickly rushed back in, but her running splash attempt was met with a boot to the face. The Black Savior grabbed her by the shoulders and pinned her to the turnbuckle, returning the courtesy with knife edge chops and kicks to the chest. Eventually, he lifted Kate up and sat her on top of the turnbuckle. He punched her in the stomach twice before climbing up and hooking her arm around his head. He then lifted her up and fell backwards, dropping her to the canvas with a superplex. Slayton rolled on top of the opponent and hooked the leg, obtaining the first near fall of the match. After kicking out, Steele quickly stood to her feet and hit the man with a jumping knee to the chin, causing him to stumble back a couple of feet. Kate charged back in but crashed and burned into the Black Flame (short-range high impact lariat). Slayton seemed to have the opponent’s number, controlling the match for several minutes. But Kate wasn’t one to give up so easily, resisting the veteran’s onslaught and capitalizing on the one opportunity he gave her when he indulged too long in the Cromwell Invocation to flex for the fans as he kept Kate upside down. She managed to slip away and quickly drop him with a backstabber. She then stood to her feet and quickly turned to Slayton who was still down, holding his back in pain. She grabbed him by the head and pulled him to his feet. Clenching her right fist, she drew back and connected with a huge punch to the forehead that knocked Devon back against the ropes. She then grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him down while driving her knee into his stomach. As Slayton tried to catch his breath, bent over, she swung her leg and hit him with a superkick, knocking him over the top rope. Steele stepped on the apron and jumped backward with an asai moonsault, but Devon caught her in mid air and dropped her on her head with a piledriver. An eerie silence filled with concern followed the brutal impact and continued while Devon picked up the limp body of his opponent and pushed her under the bottom rope. Slayton entered the ring and dragged her up to her feet, finishing her with a superfluous Devil’s Trigger for the win. WINNER: Devon Slayton BY: Pinfall (Devil’s Trigger), 8:27 |
Shortly before their upcoming tag match, the cameras find newly signed Millennium tag team talents Bad & Boujee backstage, they are dressed and ready for their match in perfectly down to the last detail matching sets of gear in black, white and silver tonight. Matching spangled jackets with their team name on them, decorated shinguards and boots, the whole nine yards. Annica is just finished checking on her sister’s hair as the camera rolls up and Aliyah holds up her hand for a small pause before she begins speaking.
Aliyah Greene:
Sup Millennium fans, ya got a taste of what we’re about at Millennium Centum sure enough. I’m Aliyah Greene, this is my twin sister Annica Greene and we are Bad & Boujee. We ain’t just pinnacle T&A, we are goals. We were finish line when it came to tag teams in Valiant, and well, now we here.
Annica Greene:
We here because Karen Eldon is a dumbshit that can’t keep her mouth shut, and when she opens it stupid just flows out like water over Niagara Falls. Never seen anything like it, her old ass just yaps and yaps like a skinny doofy chihuahua. S’alright though. We told her, we told her what was gonna happen and well, she chose to flap her lips and of course.
Annica holds up her right hand and makes a duck shadow puppet on the wall, making it quack as if to bring up the idea of Karen’s running mouth, which makes Aliyah laugh a little before she shakes her head and grins at the camera.
Aliyah Greene:
Man, somebody should make an NFT out of the look on her dumb face when we showed up and showed up her and Olly here, where they keep sayin’ they the best tag team, best champions but like we said? They ain’t even the champions at all, and they damn sure ain’t Brookford what the fuuu… yeah.
Annica Greene: A
s always her bitch ass had excuses because out of all the things to be good at? She queen of them. Queen of Mistakes and Excuses. She thought she was smart gettin’ on Twitter and sayin’ it didn’t matter we beat them AGAIN… because they was tired wah wah wah. Said we failed because we didn’t beat Tiff and Clyde and …uh somebody needa fill us in on whether they related or nah? Anyway.
In perfect synch the pair wave in a motion to get the camera to follow them as they begin to walk towards the curtain area, still speaking as they move around the people working or milling around backstage.
Aliyah Greene:
It was just beyond her degenerated lil brain that we wasn’t there to win that match. Nah nah. We was there to make sure her and Olly didn’t, because that’s what matters. Wanna go other places and brag about here, bout how you the best? Like we said, the only place on earth you bitter lil pussy bitches are better’n us is a place we ain’t at.
Annica Greene:
Tonight though, we get uhm. Bad Boyz, but unfortunately this ain’t Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. That’s disappointin’ not gonna lie… but it is what it is. We get Omari Johnson and Dante Hall? Say, is he related to Santana Johnson? Anybody know? Don’t matter though.
Annica does a little fingerwave and Aliyah nods decisively.
Aliyah Greene:
Gonna be a nice lil tag match. Let the fans see what makes us a money in the pocket team, why our table is always full, why we always get to eat. We never fail to make a splash, anywhere we go. Now, K2O, they been warned. Stay away from our match, and understand this. It don’t matter if your interference backfires and we end up winnin’ either, by the by - you interfere in this match, either you, chicken legs Karen or you, simp squirrel Olly, don’t matter, we will make ya wish ya hadn’t and you know we will. You know it.
Annica Greene:
Ya fuck this up? There will never be another tag team title run for the pair o’you, if that’s all we do here, is stop YOU TWO IDIOTS from winnin’ a daaaaamn thing so, think twice because you know. Greenes better than gold.
Tag Team Match
Bad Boyz (Danté Hall & Omari Johnson) VS Bad & Boujee
Official Riot debut for the Valiant Anarchy champions Bad & Boujee after their appearance in the Lights Out Tag Gauntlet match at Centum. Against them one of the many possible Bad Boyz combinations with the Superhuman Omari Johnson and The Hell Angel Danté Hall (formerly known as Karib Trinidad) creating a dangerous combination of speed and raw power. Hall’s strength directed the match in the Bad Boyz’ favor in the early going, allowing him to take control when he caught the flying Annica in mid-air and slammed her into the canvas. Quick tag to Omari who, with a slingshot senton, made the first pinfall attempt, obtaining a two. With the Human Superhuman in the ring the pace of the match sensibly picked up but, ironically, this played in Annica’s favor. After getting her brains scrambled by a roundhouse kick from Omari, in fact, the woman almost got the three with a sudden sunset flip, from which the Bad Boy barely kicked out in time. As Johnson tried to push himself to his feet Annica blasted him with a leg feed enziguri and opened the way to her corner. The tag to Aliyah was finally made and she didn’t let the advantage her sister gave her go to waste. Charging immediately at Johnson, she knocked him down with a shining wizard and jumped on him with a standing moonsault. Omari kicked out in two and half. When Bad & Boujee were able to control the pace and exploit their chemistry they became pretty much unstoppable. Danté had to rush in to save Omari from the Electric Dreams and took the opportunity to yeet Annica out of the ring. Despite not being the legal man and not caring about the referee’s threatening him with a DQ, Hall leveled Aliyah with a big boot. Finally he headed back to the corner, dragging Johnson along to make the tag. The big guy began tossing Aliyah across the ring with a series of suplexes and eventually drove her into the canvas with the Hell Slam, but she managed to raise her shoulder at the very last moment. Her sister finally started getting up to her feet with the help of the barricade. Annica was ready to get back to her position on the apron to help her sister when someone struck her from behind. The referee, focused on the action in the ring, didn’t see what happened but Aliyah spotted Karen Eldon amongst the fans, laughing after she knocked Annica down with her purse. Aliyah pushed Dante back with a jumping knee and turned her attention to her sister who hadn’t moved since Karen’s shot knocked her down. That momentarily distraction was fatal for Bad & Boujee as it gave Hall time to recover and set her up for the Nuclear Bomb (sitout powerbomb), keeping her down for the three count. WINNER: Bad Boyz BY: Pinfall (Nuclear Bomb), 11:06 |
Earlier this morning
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page is sitting at one of the dinner tables inside the Presidental Suite of the Four Seasons in Washington DC. There is a champagne flute filled with a Mimosa in Tiffany’s left hand, two empty plates, and a bowl of chocolate strawberries.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
What a wonderful last couple of weeks. As you all know Megan and I are the new MWE World Tag Team champions and we are going to keep our championships for a very, very long time. We have has our chances to celebrate but today is about Duke. We had a very filling breakfast, I got to watch him do his morning stretching routine because he has got to stay limber, and now he is in the shower getting ready for tonight. Tonight Duke will show those undeserving of being at the pinnacle of this business as to why he is a former MWE World Champion and will be champions once again very soon. So let’s call a spade a spade, Marcus has opened his mouth and bit off more than he can chew. When you realize that Marcus you’ll be able to tell your boys that you don’t mess with Duke or APE because we all know whenever Duke is in the ring he is money.
Tiffany takes a sip of Mimosa.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
Ah, how refreshing. With Duke finally getting booked on a show so he can destroy Marcus and move forward in his efforts to regain what is rightfully his, the MWE World Title. When he does he will see Megan and I atop the wrestling world as World Champions. Now that Megan and I are atop the tag team division we have both been champions before so we know the target is squarely on our backs. Obviously those faux Golden Era, Bad Boyz, Bad & Boujee, all the way down the line will be gunning for us. Including the woman who idolizes me even though how ancient she is. Little Miss desperate housewife who only dares boys who still watches Sesame Street and whatever boy toy she has on her arm these days. Rest assured none of you will measure up to Megan and I. With Clyde regaining his MENTV title, Duke well on his way to becoming World Champion again, Megan and I becoming the most dominant team in APE today I might do what good old Matty Stone did and become a double champion because I want it all.
Tiffany finishes her Mimosa, sets the Flute down on the table, stands up and walks away.
Singles Match
Dez Ali VS Trinity ThompsonA clash between two former Academy students, who had their issues in the past. But the reason why they’re fighting tonight was not an old beef they never really got over. It was about Dez’ more recent actions, namely costing Tiana’s opportunity in the recent Cloud Gate tournament and causing Team Trillie’s elimination in the gauntlet match at Centum. And Thompson was pissed about it, making sure that Ali knew what was about to happen to him and why before the match started. Dez didn’t seem impressed with her threats, laughing at her and hitting her with a throat strike before the sound of the bell. That gave him an initial advantage he fully exploited with a combination of quick punches, pushing the opponent back into the corner. Trinity raised her arms to defend herself from the flurry of lefts and rights he was firing off, but by doing so she exposed her midsection to his attacks. A few knee strikes to the ribs doubled the Naptown Girl over and allowed Dez to lift her for a suplex, and the first near fall of the match. It was all Ali in the first four minutes, with the Bad Boy coming really close to the win in at least another occasion with a neckbreaker slam. This dominant start only boosted the young man’s already big ego, and that terribly backfired. He started taking too much time between his attacks, favoring trash talk to actual wrestling moves. All this gave Trinity time to regroup and, with the loud support from the fans, make her comeback. Kick after kick the redhead turned the tides, ending her combination with a question mark kick. But neither that nor the shining wizard she hit Dez with after he kicked out were enough to get the three. The rest of the match was a rollercoaster of emotions. Fast paced, back and forth action with several close calls for each competitor. Dez took a huge risk with a 450 splash and missed the target, but he still managed to kick out from the subsequent magistral cradle attempt. A minute later it was Trinity who paid homage to her tag team partner with her Look Like A Million sparkle splash, but she landed on Ali’s knees raised for protection. Dez then sent the young girl in the corner with an irish whip and charged for a jumping knee. In one fluid motion, after kneeing her face in, he ran out of the corner and drove her face into the canvas with a bulldog. He rolled her on her back and hooked the legs, but Trinity kicked out. Dez now seemed fully in control, but you can never count Thompson out. Out of the blue, she caught the opponent with a running spanish fly and almost got the win with it. Wasting no time, she popped to her feet and ran to the ropes, coming back at full speed with the Knee-Jerk (running knee strike). Once again Dez saved himself, this time with the foot on the ropes. Trinity showed some signs of frustration but she quickly shook that off, regaining her focus. She started kicking him on the chest, ready to put him down for good with the Nap Kick. That was when Khalil Washington III came running down the ramp, ready to attack the young girl or, at the very least, provide a distraction for Dez. But someone was watching Trin’s back tonight, someone who was well aware of the Bad Boyz shenanigans. Tiana Petrova-Hammond jumped the barricade and tackled the much bigger man to the ground, starting to rain down punches to his face. Even in that chaos of the moment, the Russian-American yelled at her friend to focus on Dez rather than worrying for her. Just in time. Thompson turned around and barely ducked a superkick from the Bad Boy. With a kick to the back of the leg she put him down to his knee and fired off five kicks to the chest followed by a superkick to the face. WINNER: Trinity Thompson BY: Pinfall (Nap Kick), 10:45 |
Backstage we find Kimberly Williams, former MWE Chicago Way Champion and The Woman Scorned, happily skipping into the scene. She is wearing her wrestling gear consisting of mostly black with a few spots of crimson red and a black top, and black wrestling boots. Her SCW Television Championship title belt is wrapped around her waist. The centerpiece of the title belt has “Underground” spray painted on it in pink. Rolling in behind The Woman Scorned is her trusty and loyal Dalek. Although her Dalek looks strange today. It has an orange tie on and is wearing a blonde wig that looks an awfully lot like former President Donald Trump’s trademarked hair style.
Dalek:
I AM HAPPY TO BE HERE! EVERYWHERE I GO IT IS YUUUGE! YUUUGE! YUUUUUUGE! I PROUDLY PRESENT TO YOU A GREAT WRESTLER AND CHAMPION OF TELEVISION, AND TRUST ME I KNOW A LOT ABOUT TELEVISION, PLEASE WELCOME KIMBERLY WILLIAMS!!!
Williams takes a bow.
Kimberly Williams:
Thank you, Mr. President.
Dalek:
DO I BECOME PRESIDENT NOW?!
Kimberly Williams:
No, at least not right now. I have more important things to attend to, like butchering Jordan Parker-Kane…
Williams scratches her chin, looking deep in thought.
Kimberly Williams:
What makes him sooooo special that he gets two last names?! Huh?! I suppose I could be Kimberly Jones-Williams? But that doesn’t have a nice ring to it. Besides there’s plenty of Jones women running around proudly carrying the family name, like my twin sister Marie Jones, or our aunt Kayla Jones. And I, Kimberly WILLIAMS, do not need to imitate other people. I can be my own unique person, with my own unique brand of pomp and pageantry. And if anyone knows about pompous pageantry its you, right Mr. President?!
Dalek:
CORRECT!
Kimberly Williams:
Now I hope ol’ Jordy knows exactly what he is getting into when he faces me. He isn’t facing just some plain old wrestler. He is facing someone who is quite literally on the brink of insanity. I mean hell, just last week I kidnapped and tortured four people on live television! I tried to set this title belt I have in my possession on fire simply because it wasn’t the one I wanted and it meant nothing to me. Imagine what I might do to you, Mr. Parker-Kane-Smith-Jones-Backlund-Johnson-Obama-Biden-Washington-Lincoln-Sanders…
Williams shrugs her shoulders.
Kimberly Williams:
You don’t know. What I do know is that any notion you have of walking out of here under your own power…it’s fake news.
Dalek:
FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS!
Kimberly skips away with her Dalek in tow.
Singles Match
Jordan Parker-Kane VS Kimberly WilliamsThe match began as the two raced to the center of the ring. Jordan went for a quick right hand, but Kim stepped aside and dodged it. Kane turned around and was met with a few forearms, backing him up against the ropes. The Woman Scorned sent him to the opposite side and knocked him to the canvas with a back elbow. The Prodigy was quick back to his feet, made a run at Williams and got taken down with a hip toss. He hopped back up again, but got taken down once more with a spinning roundhouse kick. This time, he rolled under the bottom rope and left the ring to regroup. The match continued on the outside, which really wasn’t surprising considering the people involved. Jordan lifted Kim in a suplex position and positioned her on top of the barricade, leaving her hanging there. He then hit her with a nasty Bomaye to the side of the head and it may have been the end for Kim if her trusted Dalek didn't buy her some valuable time. When he pushed the Wildcard under the bottom rope, in fact, the genocidal creature approached him and ordered him to stop, or he would be exterminated. Kim launched herself through the ropes and pushed Jordan into her robotic friend with a suicide dive, beginning to furiously stomp his chest. She finally picked him up and slammed his face into the ring post, finally taking the action back in the ring. Kimberly came down on him with a diving elbow drop but Parker-Kane kicked out in two. Kimberly stayed on the attack until Jordan caught her with a sling blade. Grabbing her by the legs, the former MMA star quickly locked her in an STF. Jordan began cranking at the neck as Kimbery reached for the ropes, but to no avail. He continued to torque and after a few failed attempts, Williams finally reached the ropes and the hold was broken. Jordan was upright and awaited the opponent. She got to her feet and was met with a kick to the gut. He hooked her up for a DDT, but Kim caught wind of it and rammed him back first into the corner. She rammed him into the corner a few more times until he broke the grasp. Kim then turned around to put some distance between them and come back with a running clothesline but Jordan grabbed her by the hair and pulled her down to the mat. As the former Chicago Way champion hit the canvas, Jordan pulled himself up on the top rope and jumped down on him with a double foot stomp. JPK once again made the cover but it wasn’t enough to keep Kimmy down. The Woman Scorned got up to her feet only to get planted with a snap DDT from Jordan. The Prodigy then slowed down the pace to control the match and limit the opponent’s offense, locking Kim in a chokehold. Eventually the Wildcard managed to reach the ropes and escape the submission, though she was clearly struggling to breathe. Jordan tried to capitalize with his Bomaye knee but Williams moved out of the way at the very last second, running toward the ropes on the opposite side of the ring and coming back with a full head of steam, clocking him with the Shadowblade. WINNER: Kimberly Williams BY: Pinfall (Shadowblade), 11:09 |
“Oh damn! I’m the people’s champ! I know what they’re sayin but your boy don’t care”
The words echoed as the camera settled on Duke Andrews. Sitting comfortably on an abused leather recliner. Sporting a cut off T-shirt, the old school A.P.E. image of the war helmet on the front. The sleeves cut off and discarded. Already dressed for the match. The Don Joy knee brace on his right knee, partially covered with a war torn image of the American Flag on the knee pad.
Duke Andrews:
I don’t even know where to start.
He motioned to his right, waving someone over. After a brief moment, Tiffany Lynn Page came into view before sitting on the arm of the chair, her legs over his lap. Sporting her freshly won MWE tag team title over her shoulder.
Duke Andrews:
We will save the monkey in the room for last. And I’m not talking about Nathaniel. Devin. Seth. Grace or even Elsa and Vince. There’s been more bush league bullshit that’s happened in the last two weeks.
Duke lowered his head for a moment before lifting back up. His eyes deadset on the hard camera before him.
Duke Andrews:
When I speak, everyone listens. When I sit on my throne, every single scrub in this locker room wishes they could sit next to me. That wasn’t a title that was handed to me. I earned being the best fucking wrestler in this company. See, Devin, this is where you come in. You said that A.P.E. is exactly what it once was. You couldn’t be further from the truth. This was originally put together because your pal Chris needed the protection. Chris needed us to protect his ass every turn. You come along, and pulled his ass in the same direction, proving it was never Chris that made this group as deadly as it was. Alan and I brought Dusty in because he fits the mold of being a top guy. Not because we need protection. And for not being the top guy. Get the fuck out of here with that nonsense. Understand this, like I told you this morning, this company revolves around me. This company’s revolves around what I do.
Duke paused momentarily as he ran his tongue along his teeth briefly.
Duke Andrews:
And if it didn’t, why would our champion feel like he needs to keep my name in his promos? Why does the white trash barbie and her child boyfriend and tag team partner, why do they feel like they have to hang on every tweet, every promo, and every match I’m in? Things have changed since you left Devin, they’re not going back to the way you think you left the company.
Duke ran his hands up and cracked his neck.
Duke Andrews:
Like when I did the West Virginia toe tap on Seth. Sent his ass off on a little vacation. Served up a softball for Julian, just to let him fail miserably. Don’t think I didn’t see your subtweet Seth. Loud and clear. Anytime you wanna jump back in the ring, you know where to find me. I’ll save you a seat at the bar.
At this point Tiffany ran her hand along the side of Duke’s head.
Duke Andrews:
If theres anything left after Alan takes care of you, and you wanna tangle, Devin, let me know. Watch what happens tonight to see if you really want to run down that hole.
Tiffany left the side of the chair as Duke stood up. Grabbing the roll of black athletic tape. His trunks were army green in color with his name across the front and back.
Duke Andrews:
Marcus Ali. Welcome to your final match. You barked up the wrong tree. The theme runs rampant tonight.
Tiffany Lynn Page:
As always when it comes to these children. Just be thankful you aren’t getting in the ring with Karen.
Duke Andrews:
Once again, wanting to be relevant is going to be the cause of one’s downfall. You had zero problem taking the cheap way out. You wanted to play with the big dog, but you didn’t realize that you snapped the chain that kept the dog at bay. Constant barking from the little puppy, finally you’re in sight. Finally you’ll get what you got coming. You could’ve taken your chance at fleecing Alan and I. You could’ve walked away and no one would’ve said anything, but now you have to pay the price. We would’ve let you live off of one fluke win. But now…
Duke shakes his head slowly as he begins to tape his wrists and his hand.
Duke Andrews:
But you couldn’t leave well enough alone. You act like that baby mama that isn’t getting her child support. You just keep chirping and begging for more. Begging for more is what is going to end you. You aren’t in my league, kid. Continue to post your little videos running on the treadmill, and your boy can flex all he wants, it means nothing when you get in the ring with a pure technician. Tonight won’t be a night where I break a sweat. Tonight, I have zero problems putting you on the shelf, taking away any chance you have at getting a shot at Tiffany and Megan’s titles. Tonight I make a statement. Tonight Elsa and Vince are going to regret putting you in this match. Tonight, the best wrestler in the world gets to shine. Because after this match, after I snap your ligaments with ease, I’ll go back to my mission of taking back what’s mine.
He tears the tape from his one hand and moves to the other.
Singles Match
Marcus Ali Jr. VS Duke AndrewsAPE and the Bad Boyz have been on a collision course ever since Duke Andrews brought his old group together. At first, the reason seemed to be Alan Envy’s possible involvement with The Light, but Marcus himself has ruled that out. Stll, things kept escalating between the two groups, with APE’s attack on the last episode of Riot and the Bad Boyz’ ambush at Centum. Tonight, the leaders of the two groups met in what promised to be an intense match. And it didn’t disappoint. As soon as the bell sounded the two clashed in the middle of the ring, grabbing behind each other’s head with the left and throwing wild rights at the opponent. Duke caught Marcus with a stiff punch to the jaw that sent him to the mat, Andrews then went on top of the Bad Boy and hit him with a few more blows before he lifted Ali to his feet. When he did Marcus pushed him off, delivering a kick to the gut before dropping the former World Champion with a DDT. The All-American rolled to his feet, checking his lips for blood while catching a quick breather. Lifting Duke back to his feet, he attempted to wrap his arms around his waist but the Epitome Of Perfection hit him with an elbow to the face. Staying on the attack Duke swept Marcus off of his feet before jumping up and landing a leg drop. Wasting no time Duke moved on top of the opponent and started raining down lefts and rights on his face, until the Bad Boy managed to free his arm and connect with a big punch to the jaw. No love lost between the two, on more than one occasion the referee had to step between the two to separate them when they refused to respect rope breaks, or tried to choke the opponent out, or began to use closed fists. None of them really seemed to get the upper hand, not for long at least. Marcus was the one who actually got close to the win with a running bicycle kick that sent Duke into the ropes. As he bounced off, Marcus was ready to lift him with a one handed flapjack. Duke landed on his face but still tried to immediately get up. Marcus helped him, so to speak, lifting him with a Thugwrench Powerbomb, dropping the former champ on his knees. After that, he literally stalked Andrews waiting for the moment when he’d stand up to swing with the Iron Fist. The champ had it scouted and ducked the KO fist, grabbing Marcus by the hand and pulling him into a Killshot. He connected two more of those brutal knee strikes, frustrating the Bad Boy’s attempts at getting back to a vertical position. Still, he couldn’t keep the man down for the three. Then came the Red Wing Stomps, the last one seemed particularly vicious, aiming at the ribs Hollywood. Duke smirked as he lifted Ali back to his feet, setting him up for the Andrews Effect. With his elbow Marcus was able to get free, furiously dropping him on the top of the APE leader’s head. Landing behind the opponent, Marcus went for another Iron Fist but Duke promptly raised both arms to parry the discus punch. Quickly, Andrews kicked the opponent’s leg, starting the Blue, Red & White Combo. The Bad Boy was down but, to ensure he’d stay down, the former World Champ picked him up and set him up for his finisher. The Andrews Effect connected and that was the end for Marcus. Will it be the end between APE and Bad Boyz too? Time will tell. WINNER: Duke Andrews BY: Pinfall (Andrews Effect), 14:28 |
We cut backstage to find MWE journalist Robbie Hayden. Standing next to him dressed in a royal purple long sleeve dress and matching high heel peep toed pumps is “The British Bombshell” Glory Braddock. Her long blonde hair cascades freely to past the shoulders. Despite losing the MWE MENTV Championship back to “The Assassin” Clyde Sutter, The British Bombshell appears to be in good spirits.
Robbie Hayden:
Ladies and gentlemen, Robbie Hayden here with my guest at this time, the former MWE MENTV Champion, “The British Bombshell” Glory Braddock. Thank you for joining me, Glory.
Glory Braddock:
Not a problem, mate.
Robbie Hayden:
First I want to talk about your match against Clyde Sutter at Millennium Centum. You failed to defend your championship against Sutter. I know you had strong feelings about that match, you viewed Sutter as a personal enemy, a threat that you wanted to vanquish. Unfortunately it did not turn out your way. And in the end there were some scary moments for you. Would you mind sharing your thoughts on the match and give everyone an update on your medical condition?
Braddock nods her head.
Glory Braddock:
Right, well first thing is first, Clyde Sutter is a monster and can certainly dish out a beating, but I can take a good beating as well. I took his best shot and yeah, I looked bad, I was coughing up blood, but here I am still standing, still ready to go. Nothing Clyde Sutter can do will ever keep me down. Only one individual will ever decide when I give it up, when I hang up my boots, and that person is me. Now my match against Sutter did get me to thinking. I have been actively wrestling since 2008. In that time I have won multiple world championships, I have been honored by many companies, being inducted into three different Halls of Fame for professional wrestling. The past few years I have slowly begun to transition from just reaching out to claiming my own selfish achievements to trying to give back to the industry that has given me so much. I have turned to training the next generation. I have my own wrestling school back in my native home of London, England. I have taken two people under my wing specifically. I have done it all. And before you ask, Robbie, I will answer your next question…yes, I am seriously considering retirement.
A low booing can be heard from fans who are not ready to see Glory hang up the boots. Braddock shakes her head.
Glory Braddock:
Me retiring now, it would still be young for me. I will turn thirty nine in October. But I have the accomplishments of someone who has been in this business for nearly half a century. I could stick around a lot longer and earn more and more achievements. I just have to ask myself, is it worth it? Do I keep going and if so, for how long? If I do keep going, why am I continuing at this pace? Why am I continuing to put my body on the line?
Robbie Hayden:
So why do you do it? And will you continue or are you retiring?
Glory Braddock:
Your first question, Robbie. Why do I do this? That’s the problem. That’s arguably why I have failed in my past two opportunities to become MWE World Champion. I have been chasing that big gold belt for its prestige, so I could add yet another trinket to my trophy case. I forgot that the real reason I got into this business in the first place was because of the passion I had, the passion to compete, the passion to go up against the very best in the world and prove that I am not just on their level but better. I forgot what it meant to be a Braddock. What it means to be a Braddock, at least in terms of being a competitor, means never being content with who you are and what you’ve done. It means that you are always seeking out new challenges, testing yourself against the best competitors out there time and time again. It means being a fighter, a gladiator, a warrior. Not a glamorous fashionista running a glorified mafia family.
Braddock takes one heel off and tosses it aside, then she takes the other heel off and tosses it aside.
Glory Braddock:
This isn’t me. It wasn’t the real Glory Braddock. See, Robbie, some of my failures the past few weeks…losing the MWE MENTV Title to Sutter at Millennium Centum, failing to defeat Selena Frost to become SCW World Champion on Breakdown…that further proved to me that I had forgotten who I was. But now I have rediscovered my passion, my identity, and what it means to be Glory Braddock. I am now resetting my sights and my focus upon the MWE World Championship. Because I know I can win it. I know that if there is one person who can dethrone Brookford, it is me.
Braddock smirks.
Glory Braddock:
Brookford, if you want another great test then I will gladly bring it. If you want someone who you know will push you to your physical limits, then take me on. It doesn’t even have to be for the title. If you really are the champion that you want to be, if you want to take on the toughest of challenges, then take on The British Bombshell. Imagine the feather in the cap, mate? You could be the one who ends my last great chance at winning a world championship. You could be the one to send me off into retirement. I know my time is drawing to an end, I know it is coming up real soon. But if and when I go out, I go out not as a materialistic championship chasing whore. I am going out as Glory Braddock, a woman passionate about wrestling, passionate about competition, passionate about facing the very best. Right now you are the very best. And if I want to prove that I still am the very best in the world at what I do, then I need to go through you.
Singles Match
Devin Hearst VS Alan EnvyAmy Maynard: “And it’s now time for the main ev…” Sir Figgles: “THE KING IS BACK BAYBAY!” Amy Maynard: “I was getting there. Six months after his last match at Summer Hits, six months after the brutal attack suffered at the hands of Dante Cutler and the Tribe Called Conquest, Devin Hearst is back in MWE.” Sir Figgles: “And he’s back where he belongs, in the main event. I almost feel bad for Alan but after his sermon on how immoral it is to bet, he deserves everything that’s happening to him.” No time for any sort of pleasantries, shit got real from the very first moment. Alan immediately rushed over, blasting Devin with a lifting knee to the face. Hearst dropped and folded over to his side next to the ropes, cursing under his breath as the Preacher began stomping down into him. Trying to fight through the stomps, the former World champ pushed up, grabbed the ropes to help and got up onto one knee. Alan cocked back and once again blasted him with another lifting knee to the side of his head. Hearst crumbled back down and rolled out of the ring, plopping on the ring side floor. Amy Maynard: “Not quite the comeback Devin was hoping for.” Sir Figgles: “A bit of ring rust, just give him time to shake it off and he’ll own the priest.” Alan wasn’t giving him any time to regroup, leaving the ring and pounding Hearst with a forearm to the back. Devin turned around into a wicked knife edge chop across the chest. A second one followed and then a third until the former champion found himself back first against the ring post. Alan went for another chop but this time the founder of Sandstorm ducked the blow, causing the opponent to hit the cold steel. The impact elicited a groan of pain from the Lonestar, who immediately clutched his right hand. This was the opening Hearst was waiting for to go on the offensive, introducing the steel post to Alan’s face as well before pushing him back in the ring. Once in, he carelessly walked on the man’s hand, stomping it under his boot even. Amy Maynard: “All these months, and Hearst is just as ruthless as we remembered him. Alan’s hand might be broken and he’s just piling on it.” Sir Figgles: “Yeah, Envy might have some troubles giving the blessing in the next couple of days.” The torture continued as Devin put the Lonestar in a sitting armbar and tried to dislocate the fingers. Somehow Alan broke free, but it was clear that his right hand was going to be an issue for the rest of the match. Sure, he could use the left one and he did for a while, successfully I must say. A left uppercut to the jaw sent Hearst stumbling back into the corner. Alan burst into a run and collided into the former champion with a thundering clothesline. Again and again, the Preacher slammed short range clotheslines across Dev’s chest and the founder of Sandstorm wobbled and bounced around in between each pounding. Pulling Hearst from the corner, Alan hooked him and snapped him over for a Snap Suplex towards the center of the ring. He twisted on the canvas and crawled on top of the opponent, dropping a short but sharp elbow across the middle of his face a few times before grabbing one of his legs and making a pin attempt. Amy Maynard: “Only a two for Alan!” Sir Figgles: “He’s going to need a lot more than that to beat Hearst. Don’t forget he’s a former World champion.” And Alan did “a lot more than that”, though he could only get this close, yet so far, to the three. Pulling Hearst up as he pushed to his feet, Alan hooked his opponent with a double underhook and lifted him up for a butterfly suplex, but dropped him into a backbreaker on his extended knee. Hearst’s back bent over the knee and he collapsed onto the canvas. Again Envy pulled the opponent onto his back and hooked both legs, attempting a pin. Hearst kicked out at the last moment, which came as a shock to the Lonestar. Popping up, he looked at the referee, almost accusing him of slow counting. He rose to his feet and put Devin in a front facelock, looking to lift him for his patented gourdbuster. Hearst broke free of the grapple and hit him with a quick right to the neck. Alan stumbled far back, catching his breath after the throat thrust. Devin just ran through him with a massive spear, letting out a huge roar after knocking down the member of APE. Surprisingly, the fans reacted positively to that, showering the former World champion in a round of applause. Amy Maynard: “Well, this is quite unexpected…” Sir Figgles: “What are you talking about? The fans clearly missed the Big Boss, and they’re letting him know how happy they are to see him back.” Amy Maynard: “I still believe they are only cheering for him because they hate Alan’s guts…” Either way, the DC fans were really behind the Seven Headed Beast, and he seemed to enjoy it. He played on the crowd’s reaction, getting them to count to ten as he climbed on the second rope and started raining down punches to the cornered Alan’s face. He kept interacting with them as he dragged the Lonestar across the ring and started slamming his face on each turnbuckle, seeing which side of the Armory was the loudest. Everyone was having a good time, with the exception of Alan Envy. The Lonestar was struggling to stay in the match, barely surviving the Comedown. By hook or by crook though, the former Tag Champion managed to create an opening with a sneaky thumb to the eye and hit an impressive pop-up death valley driver on the former Dog Of War. If you think that the newfound connection with the fans was synonymous with a change of heart in the former World Champion, well you may want to think again. As they said, zebras don’t change their stripes and Hearst didn’t lose his touch or his flair for bending the rules a bit. He hit Alan with a low blow, expertly hiding the misdeed from the ref’s eyes. With the Lonestar folding in two holding his jewels, Devin could easily set him up for the Sunset Rider, celebrating with a big win his return match.
