Singles Match
Crystal Zdunich VS Dean SmithAs the opening bell rang, Dean and Crystal locked up with a collar and elbow tie up. The former Invictus champion immediately used his size and strength advantage to shove the Blossoming Rose backwards to the canvas. She pulled herself up and charged at the man, but was soon flattened by a standing shoulder tackle. Dean then took initiative, running over his fallen opponent and bouncing off of the ropes. By the time he made it back to the middle of the ring Crystal hopped to her feet and leap frogged him. Smith kept his momentum going and bounced off of the ropes again. Christina tried to leap frog him again but this time she got caught in mid air and powered downed to the mat with a power bomb. Wisely, she rolled out of the ring and onto the apron but Dean kept up on her and reached over the top rope, pulling the opponent to her feet. He lifted her up and suplexed her over the ropes and back into the ring, floating on top of her for a quick cover that gave him a count of two. Dean gave the opponent no break, picking her up and hitting her with a few quick jabs before sending her into the corner with an european uppercut. As he charged in for a clothesline, he ran into the empty corner as Crystal swiftly moved out of the ring. From the apron, she rocked him with a kick to the head and leaped on the top rope, using it to jump back in the ring with a crossbody. The match saw Dean dominating for the most part, lifting Zdunich up to her feet and tossing her like a ragdoll into the corner. He straightened the girl up and crashed down with a hard knife edge chop. Instinctively Crystal folded up, trying to cover up but Smith straightened her up again and delivered a second straight knife edge chop. The former Invictus champion then lifted Zdunich up and sat her down on the top turnbuckle. He climbed up as well, draping his arm around her head looking for a superplex. Christina suddenly started fighting out of it with a few punches to the ribs and pushed Dean off of the top rope and down to the canvas. She watched as Smith bounced back to his feet, leaping off at him with a diving meteora. Both were up to their feet quickly, though that wasn’t true for long for Dean, as Crystal’s Flashing Lights knocked him flat on his back once again. The Smell The Roses (handspring moonsault) put the woman in position to attempt a cover, but Dean raised his shoulder in time. Desperately looking for that win to get back on track, Christina produced her greatest effort in an attempt to keep the bigger man down for the three, getting really close to it with a tilt-a-whirl ddt. She even attacked him from above with a moonsault, but missed the high risk move, crashing on the mat. That mistake eventually cost her the match, as it opened the way for Dean’s comeback, ultimately ending with the Mean Dean diving knee strike. WINNER: Dean Smith BY: Pinfall (Mean Dean), 8:46 |
We cut backstage to the ready area of the arena. As the camera begins to pan around we eventually spot the beautiful figure of the newly crowned MENTV Champion Glory Braddock standing not too far away. The British Bombshell is dressed in a knee length royal purple skirt, a black crop top, and a black leather jacket. Her long blonde hair hangs straight and unrestrained to past the shoulders. A confident smile is etched across her lovely features. Her MENTV Championship title belt is draped over her right shoulder.
Glory Braddock:
Before I address tonight, I want to address a piece of garbage named Clyde Sutter.
Braddock sneers.
Glory Braddock:
Below Zero was your night. You had to take a cheap shot and I sure do hope you felt good about yourself, but yes, it was your night. But after all of the cheap shots, all of your bullying and intimidation, how you have treated so many people back here in the MWE locker room, your reign of terror has officially been put on notice. Because I found the chink in your armor. You may be a monster but I proved to the world just as I have proven time and time again that everyone has a weakness, even monsters like you. I put you down and I claimed this…
She pats the MENTV Title belt that rests over her right shoulder.
Glory Braddock:
...the MENTV Championship. And unlike you, I will do it proud. I will bring an honor and respectability that this championship has not had since, well, since Alex Andrews had it. She defended this the required number of times and cashed it in to face the Riot Champion Pierce Manning. She took that Riot Championship away from him and now proudly defends that championship. Alex, I look forward to defending this and then coming after you. I look forward to the two of us tearing down the house for the Riot Championship. Unless, of course, I get a crack at Brookford and the MWE World Championship.
She chuckles.
Glory Braddock:
I have been distracted with Clyde Sutter. I have been distracted with ending the menace and tyranny that is The Assassin. Now that I have completed that task I can focus on being the very best wrestler in the world today. Brookford, I may be the MENTV Champion right now, but don’t think I have forgotten about that title belt that you possess. You have what everyone wants. And I will be watching you very close. You’re intelligent, you’re smart, I’m sure you will be watching me. One day our paths will cross. When they do, I may be the woman who takes that title away from you.
Braddock shakes her head.
Glory Braddock:
But not right now. Right now my focus is on this championship. My focus is on being the best MENTV Champion I can possibly be. And my opponent tonight for my first title defense is someone I can proudly call my friend, Kyle Butler. Now Kyle, you have already said that you don’t believe you are worthy of facing me. You said you do not feel you deserve a title match. The fact is, mate, that anyone on their best day can be beaten. That includes me, a proud athlete who at one time called herself The Best in the World. Do you think anyone expected Buster Douglas to knock Mike Tyson out? For those handegg fans out there, do you think anyone expected The Chiefs to get knocked out of the playoffs the way they did? They were favorites. They were favorites who got beat. But then again, that’s what competition is all about, Kyle, and that’s why we have these matches. We do this to see who really is the best. Forget about whatever skid you’ve been on and bring your A-Game to this title defense. Fight like it is your last title opportunity, mate, because trust me, I know from experience that title matches do not come very often. But there’s another reason you should go out there and give it your all, something that goes above and beyond just mere championships…
Braddock points at herself and then at the camera.
Glory Braddock:
...you and I are part of the Glorious Golden Era, we represent what this sport should be; the tradition, the spirit of competition, we represent what is good about. We would be doing a disservice to this sport and all of the people out there if we did not put on a wrestling clinic for the whole world. So Kyle, mate, I hope to see you out there. And please, give me your best. Trust me, I will give you my very best. I will do everything within my power to retain the MENTV Championship.
Glory Braddock turns and walks off.
Tag Team Match
Luna Smith & West Long VS Echo & JJ Night
After the double loss suffered last week, Luna and West had the chance to rectify that L against Echo & JJ Night. With their opponents on a collision course for the Junior Heavyweight championship, Smith and Long knew that they had a clear advantage they should exploit. Unlike the opponents, in fact, they were on the same page and used to work together. That much was clear since the entrances, with the two of them coming out together while JJ and Echo had separate entrances. Still, from “not being on the same” to “ditching your partner and not even showing up” there’s a lot of difference. And that was exactly what happened as the Junior Heavyweight champion didn’t come out when “Wild Eyes” by Parkway Drive played. The boos were so loud they drowned out the song, while the camera focused on JJ inside the ring. He looked disappointed, but not exactly surprised. And yet, determined to fight despite the clear disadvantage. Even the referee looked perplexed when Night told him to sound the bell. Luna chuckled and left the ring, leaving the Warwolf to start the match. West charged head on, eager to avenge the loss suffered last week, but JJ dodged his spear attempt and watched the Warwolf crashing into the empty corner. Night got the first offense of the match in with a swift striking combination. The kicks left Long stunned, and JJ charged him for a running ddt, planting the Warwolf on his head and obtaining a count of two. The young Kid did his best, fighting valiantly against the odds. But the momentum he was building ended abruptly when he charged into a pop-up powerbomb by West. Oddly, Luna and West didn’t fully exploit the numerical advantage as everyone expected. The Warwolf did most of the hard work while Luna watched from aside, only getting involved every now and then with the systematic cheapshot, a kick on the back every time JJ hit the ropes close to her. An irish whip sent Night in the corner, where West squashed him with a big splash. He followed with some kicks to the chest that turned, ignoring the referee’s request to grant a clean break. The official started the count and once he got to four, threatened Long with a dq. As the Warwolf stepped back, Luna used the tag rope to choke the opponent, letting go just before the ref turned back. Then she asked for the tag and climbed to the top rope, waiting for JJ to slowly stand up to jump and drop him with the Thestral, obtaining an easy win in what had become a handicap match. WINNER: Luna & West Long BY: Pinfall (Thestral), 6:11 |
Glory Braddock is seen backstage walking around. She is in her wrestling gear in anticipation for her upcoming title defense against Kyle Butler. Braddock stops when she spots her distant relative and fellow MWE wrestler “The Archangel” Jessica Lasiewicz, who happens to be the wife of Kyle Butler. Glory smiles warmly as she approaches Jessica.
Glory Braddock:
Jess, how are you mate?
Jessica Lasiewicz:
I’m doing good, Glory.
Glory Braddock:
I saw you on Millennium. Tough break in that tournament.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
It’s ok…karma is a bitch and she will get hers. Besides, Summer is still in it, there’s still a chance Fabulous will bring home the gold. What about you? Are you ready for tonight?
Braddock sighs.
Glory Braddock:
That’s what I wanted to talk to you about, actually. Kyle sounded pretty down on himself lately. Hell, on social media he talked like he didn’t even want to face me. You know me, Jess, I am a fighting champion, I don’t want to take a win like that. Do you know if Kyle is going to be out there or not?
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Well I’m only here to support him, so read into that what you will. But honestly, I haven’t spoken much to him about this match. It’s Glorious Golden Era business, that’s your stuff. I leave that to you, Neil, Kyle, and Sophie, just like he leaves all the Fabulous stuff to me and Summer. You know?
Braddock nods her head.
Glory Braddock:
I understand. I hope he’ll be there.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Just be prepared. If he does decide to show, he will bring his all. I think we both know that.
With that, Jessica and Glory turn and go their separate ways.
MENTV Championship Match
Glory Braddock © VS Kyle ButlerThe MENTV Champion was already in the ring, ready for her first defense against her partner in the Glorious Golden Era, Kyle Butler. Much like everyone else, she was a bit concerned, unsure if the match was even going to happen. Kyle didn't think he deserved the opportunity, and not even his wife Jessica Lasiewicz could tell if the former Lockdown champion was going to take on the Best In The World's challenge. The fans let their support toward the master of the Roll Tide be heard, chanting his name over and over. Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" started playing and the Lousiana fans started singing it along. They suddenly stopped when they saw Kyle flying out of the curtain and roliing down the ramp, bleeding copiously from the head. Glory went to check on him, but before she could leave the ring, the appearance of Clyde Sutter on the stage froze her on the spot. The Assassin was laughing, pointing his finger at Kyle and saying that he actually did him and everyone a favor, since the Alabama native didn't even want to fight. While he? He was ready to go and beat Glory up even now, to prove that her win last week was a fluke. But... "The people in Lousiana don't deserve to see him in action. No, I think a much better stage would be Millennium Centum. See you there, Braddock." Clyde turned around and walked away, the bloodied baseball bat he used to take out the former Lockdown champion still in his hands. Braddock was livid and for a moment considered chasing the Assassin and avenge her partner. But revenge had to wait, Kyle needed assistance. She stood with him until the medical personnel rushed to the stage, taking care of Butler and stretching him backstage. WINNER: // BY: Forfeit, 0:00 |
Here in Lake Charles, Louisiana we head backstage at Riot to find Clyde Eldon Jr standing by with Tiff Rollins, who is currently fastening up her gloves for their match later in the night. The two have grown from reluctant allies to friends over the past few months.
Clyde Eldon Jr:
Still can’t believe how much you killed it at Red Line. I may sound like a broken record, but you really are one of the best around here. You decide on whose belt you are taking yet?
Chuckling as though it's a foregone conclusion, Clyde having even more confidence in Tiff than she may have in herself. That certainly seems like the case as Tiff shrugs in response.
Tiff:
I don't know man. Honestly can't believe I even survived that thing, let alone winning the whole damn thing. But after what happened to Faith…
She quickly removed that thought from her head.
Tiff:
I don't know. It just feels like a million different choices just opened up.
Clyde Eldon Jr:
Yeah, I was sort of looking forward to you being able to take that belt off of her. But you have a lot of options. Could even go take that belt off of Brookford? Though from experience, the guy’s a beast.
Clyde shivers just remembering having to face off with Brookford. Even Tiff shuddered at the thought, although it was hard to tell whether it was from a fear of Brookford, or from the thought of challenging for the highest prize in the company.
Tiff:
I could go for any title. I do like the thought of going after the world title…but I wouldn't mind earning a few others along the way. There's the IC title, the Jr Heavyweight title, the Lockdown title. Hell, I could even go after the Tag Team titles…with the right partner of course…
Clyde Eldon Jr:
You saying tonight might be a job interview?
Clyde says this with a smile, not expecting anything but intrigued by the thought. Having been excited about teaming with Tiff.
Tiff:
Well I mean…
Realizing how open she was being, she quickly shifted back to her regularly reserved self, focusing back on her gloves as she speaks, containing her own excitement.
Tiff:
I mean I think we both might deserve a little something…after everything we've both been through lately…
Clyde Eldon Jr:
Has been rough but you, winning Red Line was a step in the right direction. And as for your title match? I want you to pick whatever one you think fits best. Just want to see you as a champion again. As for tonight? The Bad Boyz have been causing havoc around here, let's show them what we got.
Clyde says this while punching his fist, ready to go. This psyches Tiff back up, who responds by punching her own fist.
Tiff:
Hell yeah!
The two take off, ready to fight alongside each other.
Tag Team Match
Bad Boyz (Marcus Ali Jr. & Khalil Washington III) VS Tiff Rollins & Clyde Eldon Jr.
Another tag match for Tiff and Clyde and this time the blonde seemed more happy and willing to team up with the son of Karen Eldon. She even calmed him down as the Bad Boyz tried to get in his head, reminding him of the time when he was begging to get in their group. Rollins was still talking to her partner, convincing him to let her start the match when Marcus blindsided the former Cloud Gate champion and knocked her down with a hard strike to the back of the head. The leader of the Bad Boyz then pushed Tiff’s body out of the ring and invited Clyde to come fight him. The match started with the two just trading punches. The advantage was all for Marcus who, thanks to his boxing background, took little time to push Eldon back into the corner. Keeping Clyde in their half of the ring, the Bad Boyz kept tagging each other in and out, taking turns at punching and kicking the opponent while the other would hold him in position, making it impossible for Clyde to protect himself in any way. Tiffany, fully recovered and back in her corner, used her influence on the fun to tally them behind her partner, which granted CEJ that boost to turn the tables. Throwing his head back, Clyde broke free from Khalil’s grasp. Marcus immediately threw a wild right hand at the opponent, who ducked the blow and performed a nice released German suplex throwing Ali into the turnbuckle, clearing the path toward his corner. He almost got there by a shoulder tackle from KW3 prevented him from making the tag. Not for long though, as when Washington went to drag Clyde up, the son of Karen surprised him with a chin breaker, and sent him flying on his back with a bicycle kick. The fans erupted in cheers as Tiffany entered the ring, and they remained very loud for all the time she dominated the bigger Marcus, chopping him down with her stiff kicks and newly implemented boxing combinations. Her uncle’s Peacemaker knocked the leader of the Bad Boyz down, but as she attempted the cover, KW3 rushed in and stomped her in the back, breaking up the pinning predicament. Washington didn’t leave the ring, continuing to stomp the Red Line 3 winner despite the referee’s warnings to leave the ring. And soon Marcus joined in, making this an illegal 2 on 1. Clyde had seen enough and rushed in to help his partner, tackling Khalil to the ground with his For You Dad spear. Clyde then began dropping lefts and rights to Khall’s face, while the Bad Boy obviously tried to protect himself and fight back. As the two rolled around, jockeying for position and beating each other up until they inevitably ended up on the floor outside, Tiff and Marcus kept trading blows. The former professional boxeur, obviously, came out on top, knocking Rollins down with a wicked uppercut. He wasted no time and dragged her up, attacking her with multiple pendulum backbreakers. Tiff let out a groan of pain, arching her back and trying to roll to safety but Marcus reached down and lifted her with a deadlift German suplex. Ali was waiting for her to get up, ready to knock her out with the Iron Fist. But not-so unexpectedly someone showed up. It wasn’t the Man In White, nor The Light. It was Alan Evy, sporting an APE black short and dragging the battered and bruised Omari Johnson by the arm. The Lonestar just left the motionless body there on the stage as a warning. Marcus was livid, yelling at Alan that he would pay for this. But to do that, he took his eyes away from Tiffany who kicked him on the knee to cut him down at the ideal height to connect the Death Kick. The blonde made the cover, Clyde made sure Khalil couldn’t save his partner this time by grabbing him by the foot as he attempted to slide back in the ring. WINNER: Tiff Rollins & Clyde Eldon Jr. BY: Pinfall (Death Kick), 12:17 |
We cut to a position in the back set up for promos, a MWE logo draped in the background. A moment later, the MWE Riot Champion Alex Andrews walks into the frame. She rubs her neck and rolls it from side to side.
Alex Andrews :
You know something? The last episode of Riot didn't exactly go off the air like I would have liked it to, with the MWE choking the life out of me. It could have gone better, but you all saw it, right? I put up one heck of a fight, right? Brookford definitely had to put some work on to put me down, that's for sure.
Alex shakes her head, trying to put that behind her.
Alex Andrews :
But I'm not the only person that night ended poorly for. I know Clyde Sutter had every intention on making it through those five defenses to my doorstep, but he faltered. And now Glory Braddock has that championship, and well, with Millenium Centum rapidly approaching, I'm afraid that she won't have the time to rack up the needed defenses. Which leads me to this, that means I'm without a challenger for the big show and I just can't have that. But then, I thought of something. I'm a champion now, I can throw just a little bit of my weight around and toss out a challenge of my own. I have an opponent in mind for Cemtum.
Alex smiles as she pulls the MWE Riot Championship up to her shoulder.
Alex Andrews :
It's someone I have a great amount of respect for. She showed such kindness when I was just starting out in this business and I know that she has said that she's winding down her career soon. And I get that, I do, can't keep doing this forever. So selfishly, I want this match, for me. I want to face her before she hangs up her boots and I hope management will make it happen because it would mean the world to me to defend my Riot Championship against....Emi Yamamoto.
She grins from ear to ear.
Alex Andrews :
Emi-san, you've always been one of my biggest supporters outside of my close circle of friends and we've never had a chance to get into the same ring at the same time, so yeah, I couldn't think of anyone else I'd like to have a marquee match with. What do you say, Big Strong Girl?
Alex chuckles to herself, rearranges the belt on her shoulder and nods confidently at the camera as she walks off screen, fading to black.
Singles Match
Pierce Manning VS Melissa ReevesThis big match between the former Riot champion and the former World champion was surely going to be a treat for the fans. Needless to say, they wanted nothing more than to see Melissa Reeves win, cheering loudly for her ever since she appeared on the stage. The Man had different plans though, delivering a couple of knees to Mel’s stomach before pushing her in the corner and lifting her up. With Mel sitting on top of the turnbuckle Pierce took a moment to address the fans, calling them ungrateful for treating him like this after everything he did for the Riot brand as champion. After the outburst that clearly didn’t earn him any sympathy from the LA fans, Manning climbed the turnbuckle and wrapped his arms around Mel. The former MWE World champion delivered a hard headbutt to the nose, knocking Pierce down on the canvas. Standing up perfectly balanced on the top rope, The Reaver jumped with an early From The Heavens attempt, missing wide as Pierce rolled out of the way. Manning tried a quick pinning predicament with a cradle, but Reeves kicked out in two. Up to their feet, the two competitors met in the center of the ring where they began trading strikes. Manning relied mostly on his quick punches, getting the advantage initially and forcing the Australian in the corner. After a couple of shoulder thrusts in the midsection, Manning took a few steps back and charged in for a splash, crashing into Reeves’s back elbow. Inch by inch, kick after kick, Mel backed The Man in the opposite corner of the ring where she delivered a few more kicks to the chest before connecting a massive running claymore kick, obtaining a count of two. Credit to Pierce, he was holding his own against the expert opponent. After a near fall obtained with a scoop powerslam, Manning grabbed Reeves by the hair and dragged her up to her feet. He raked her eyes and then followed up with a quick dropkick that sent the former World champ falling backwards into the corner. Once again he charged in, this time finding no opposition from the Aussie and spearing her in the corner. The self proclaimed Face Of Riot wrapped his arms around her and lifted her into the air, planting Mel into the canvas with a spinebuster that rattled the ring. He looked proud of what he did, confident that the prestigious victory was just behind the corner. Manning picked up the opponent and fired a backhand to the face, which only seemed to rile up Melissa. She dared him to do it again, ducking under his following strike and quickly moving behind his back. Pierce turned around quickly and got doubled over by a kick to the stomach. prelude to the Reaver Slam. The Australian didn’t go for the pin, quickly popping up to her feet and waiting for the opponent to do the same. Manning regretted getting up as he found himself on the receiving hand of a flurry of kicks from the former World champion, who then dropped The Man with her facebreaker ddt. She hooked the leg, making the cover but only getting a two out of it. She stayed in control for the next few minutes, scoring another near fall with her second From The Heavens of the night. But Pierce was far from done, ducking the Magnitude Nine and quickly catching her with his TBTM. Wisely, the Australian rolled out of the ring before Pierce could make the cover. Frustrated, the member of the Triumvirate followed her outside, quickly dragging her back inside the ring not before slamming her face into the ring post. He made a quick cover but Melissa kicked out in two, which only increased the Man’s frustration. He dragged the former champion up and prepared for a second TBTM, but this time Reeves slipped away and connected with a desperate Magnitude Nine. She made the cover, hooking both legs and obtaining a hard fought victory. WINNER: Melissa Reeves BY: Pinfall (Magnitude Nine), 18:03 |
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page is in her locker room on her cell phone.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
I know, I know you warned me about messing with the big jacket loving oof but he outright stated he doesn’t know you socially.
Tiffany pauses.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
Don’t be a buzzkill, babe…
Tiffany pauses.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
I would never ask you to compromise yourself but Tank and Dusty made this about personal feelings. Megan and I are simply doing what we need to do to become the World Tag Team Champions. I’m pretty sure you of all people can understand that.
Tiffany pauses, hangs up the phone, and smiles. Tiffany walks by Megan who is sitting on the couch in their locker room.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
We’re good.
Megan smiles as Tiffany walks away.
#1 Contenders Tag Team Championship Match
Special Referee: Duke Andrews
Special Referee: Duke Andrews
Tiffany Lynn-Page & Megan Coleman VS Tank Steiner & Dustin Douglas
Amy Maynard: “It’s time for the main event, ladies and gentlemen. And this one has so many possible implications that I don’t even know where to start.” Sir Figgles: “How about you start by saying how unfair it is that Moretti is forcing Duke in this situation? How can he pick between his woman and his best friend?” Amy Maynard: “He… can’t. He shouldn’t, all he has to do is just call this match right in the middle, without making any favoritism.” Sir Figgles: “You say that as if it's easy.” Amy Maynard: “A tag title opportunity is on the line, the same opportunity Megan and Tiffany ruined for Tank and Dusty back at Below Zero. Really, Duke doesn’t want to screw this one up…” Tiffany smiled widely as the leader of APE called the four of them in the middle of the ring, glancing at Duke who didn’t return the gaze, looking focused and determined on the task at hand, well aware of what was on the line, the prize both his brother in arms and girlfriend were chasing. The eyes were all on Duke more so after certain positions many had defined, not without reason, controversial. The former World Champion commanded that the bell sounded, leaving Tank and Tiffany to square off. The Austrian looked extremely focused, keeping an eye on Tiffany and one on Megan. But he didn’t seem to be taking Duke for granted either. Not saying that he didn’t trust the leader of APE in a striped shirt but he was very wary around him. Tiffany finally lunged in with a kick to the side that Tank easily blocked. Without batting an eye, Steiner threw Page in the corner with an exploder suplex. She pulled herself up just in time to get squashed by the running Hulk. Tank seemed about to continue his attack but Duke stopped him, calling a rope break. The fans booed but Tank didn’t object to the call, stepping back and giving Tiffany some space. Perhaps Herr Steiner would have appreciated it if Andrews showed the same promptness and zeal in enforcing the rules when The Diva raked his eyes, but in Duke’s defense he was dealing with Megan’s attempt to enter the ring illegally. Tiffany capitalized on the momentarily blind Austrian taking him down with a neckbreaker. She made the cover and Duke did the count, reaching two before Steiner kicked out. Tiffany rolled her eyes and said something to the referee, who just stared back at her. Amy Maynard: “Did she just tell him ‘faster, Duke’?” Sir Figgles: “I don’t know, that sounds more like something she’d say later t…” Amy Maynard: “Don’t go there, please…” The blonde bombshell walked to the corner, making the tag to Megan. The former Martial Artist entered the ring and threw some of her hard strikes, most of them targeting the legs of the big Austrian. Especially the knee that Tank injured a couple of years back and that, from time to time, still bothered the super-heavyweight. After finally taking the big man down, Meg tried to damage that knee further with a submission, but Tank was able to power out of her hold rather quickly. He picked himself up and blocked the following kick, taking Coleman to the mat with a dragon screw leg whip. Still holding her by the foot, he dragged her to his corner and made the tag to Dustin. As the Murder Train entered the ring, he immediately went to grab Megan by her wrists while Tank was holding her by the ankles. They positioned themselves in the middle of the ring and threw Megan high in the air. As soon as the Indiana native touched the canvas, Dusty hit the ropes and jumped on her with a running senton. Duke dropped down and made the count, stopping at two as Tiffany broke up the pin. Amy Maynard: “Figgles, if you were the Glorious Golden Era right now, who would you hope to defend your title against?” Sir Figgles: “Hard to tell, honestly. They already faced Tank and Dusty, and many people think they only retained because of Megan and Tiffany interfering. On the other hand, the two women can be really dangerous.” Amy Maynard: “Wow..” Sir Figgles: “What?” Amy Maynard: “I wasn’t expecting a serious answer, that’s all.” The Big Guys really had come a long way since their debut as a team, perfecting their craft week after week and finding a perfect chemistry. They tagged each other in and out frequently, isolating Megan and even paying tribute to Tank’s friends Warblade 42 performing the Switchover Suplex. They were dominating the match, but couldn’t seal the deal and get that three. Dustin eventually went for the Giga Impact but as he lifted Megan for the high angle rock bottom, she was able to counter it with a ddt, opening the way to the corner. The tags happened at the same time, bringing in the fresh members of each team, the same who started the match. Unlike earlier in the night, Tiffany was able to successfully use her speed to stay away from the Austrian, connecting a big enziguri to the side of the head that caused Steiner to stumble into the corner. Tiffany went to grab him and dragged his face against the top rope, an illegal move that earned her the prompt warning from Duke. Page apologized and quickly moved Duke away to kick Tank on the head with the Prima Donna. Down went the Austrian, but he still managed to get the shoulder up in time. Sir Figgles: “Say what you want about Tiffany, but she can go in the ring.” Amy Maynard: “I can think of a couple of things to say about her, but I don’t wanna get in trouble..” Tank still had something left in the… tank, as the series of Austrian Suplexes he tossed Tiffany around with proved. Dustin entered the ring after the tag and went to pick up Page, dragging her to her feet. “Sorry Bubba” he apologized to Duke before almost taking Tiff’s head off with the Hyper Beam (spinning backfist). The Murder Train made the cover and got another near fall. As the match continued, Tiffany managed to turn the tides briefly, dropping Dougas down with a codebreaker but once again didn’t go past the two. A King Kai Bomb ended her offense and almost the match as well, if it wasn’t for Megan entering the ring to make the save. The Big Nasty went to pick Tiffany up but she surprised him with an inside cradle. Duke quickly dropped in position and made the count, slamming his hand on the canvas three times. Sir Figgles: “She did it! Tiffany and Megan will challenge The Glorious Golden Era for the titles!” Amy Maynard: “Hold on a second…” As Tiffany celebrated with Megan, Duke called the ring announcer and whispered something in her ear. A moment later, Aspen announced that the match ended in a draw. Tiffany couldn’t believe it, demanding an explanation to the referee. Andrews pointed at the tron showing the replay of the final moments of the match, showing that the execution of her cradle wasn’t ideal, perhaps due to Dustin’s size. Her shoulders, in fact, were both on the mat just like those of her opponents, making it a double pin. Sir Figgles: “What a call from the Duke!” Amy Maynard: “Credit where it’s due, that was incredible. Most referees wouldn’t even have noticed it, and others in his situation could have pretended they didn’t either.” Sir Figgles: “I guess this means we’ll have a triple threat at Centum, right?” Amy Maynard: “Well, we don’t have enough air time left to continue this match so, unless we’ll have a rubber match next week, I’m positive that this is the direction we’re going.” WINNER: Draw BY: Double Pinfall (Inside Cradle), 19:11 |
