2x11 FOOL'S GOLD

The Gym
December 22, 2021

We find ourselves in the gym here in the Academy where we see Gabriel Landry transitioning from one piece of equipment to the next. With his headphones on his head he seems in the zone. He does some curls with some of the weights. As he does so unknown to him we can see a figure enter the room from behind him. Wearing a mask over her head, we say her as it is quite clear that despite wearing a mask she is a female considering the leggings she is wearing. Strolling over to the all in one trainer set up in the corner, she has a tool. As she turns we get a glimpse of her “Rainer is the Best T-Shirt” leaving little suspense as to who it is at this point.

Gabriel is in his zone though, getting some pumps in for his expected match for the Gold Star. Lucky for the intruder as we watch as Rainer’s number one fan uses a tool to start to pull apart a few of the pieces holding together the all in one set up. Taking extremely long considering she doesn’t know what she is doing, she finally does what she feels will be enough to mess with it. Rushing off just in time to get outside as Gabriel finishes. Setting down the weight he walks over to the all in one trainer, to do some pull downs. Sitting down and stretching he starts but as he pulls down the entire machine falls apart, the seat under him collapsing as the machine falls over onto him.

Letting out an extremely loud grimace of pain, as he holds his ribs as the training staff rushes in to check on him, seeing if he is all right.

The Second Floor
December 24. 2021
6:03 AM

We cut to the door of one of the dorm rooms. After a few seconds, the door swings open and out walks JJ Night, a gym bag thrown over his shoulder. He began to walk down the hall, checking behind him a few times to make sure nobody was watching, as he wanted to leave unnoticed.

Evelyn Carter:
Are you really trying to sneak away like a thief in the night?

Vi’s voice has a playful nuance in it, though there’s no sign of a smile on her face; in fact, she looks pretty serious, one can say almost sad. Being so early in the morning, she’s still wearing a cute panda onesie pajama, standing on the threshold of her room. JJ pauses in his tracks before sighing and turning around.

JJ Night:
Sorry, I didn’t want to make a big deal out of anything.

JJ then eyes her up and down before he smirks.

JJ Night:
I will say that I’m glad you caught me, because that panda onesie is amazing.

Evelyn lets out a soft giggle, lowering her eyes as if she only now realized she was wearing her night clothes. But having heard the footsteps in the hallway and knowing that today was the day JJ would leave the Academy she quickly jumped out of her bed, wanting to catch him before he left.

Evelyn Carter:
You’re lucky I’m a light sleeper then.

The smile she offered him quickly fades as soon as she sees his bag, all of a sudden making his departure all too real.

Evelyn Carter:
It’s… Well, I don’t really know what to say, I kinda hate goodbyes…

An awkward silence falls between them. Perhaps this is exactly what JJ was trying to avoid by leaving quietly. JJ doesn’t waste time though, as he walks toward Evelyn before grabbing her hand in his.

JJ Night:
Hey now… this isn’t goodbye. It’s see ya later. And I might be done with my rehab here but that doesn’t mean I won’t visit either. I’ve gotten a little attached to someo… something’s here, you know?

Evelyn Carter:
Yeah but…

She looks down at her hand, held by JJ.

Evelyn Carter:
You’re not going to be here anymore and I kinda liked having you around..

Vi cracks a shy, slightly embarrassed smile.

Evelyn Carter:
You’re going to be busy with Millennium and Riot and the PPVs… Which is great and you’ll do great and you totally deserve it after everything you’ve been through but… I think I’m going to miss you.

JJ Night:
Oh yeah? Well… I know I’m going to miss you.

JJ squeezes her hand tighter before continuing on.

JJ Night:
You know I have to go do big things in the big leagues. I also gotta protect some people. Maybe when you have the time, you can join me at some of those shows?

He lets go of her hand and rubs the back of his head before letting out an awkward laugh.

JJ Night:
That is if you have the time. I don’t want to drag you around all over the place, I know you’re pretty busy here.

Evelyn Carter:
Not on weekends, so if it’s a Riot show and it’s not like on the other side of the country… I probably will.

The two share another brief smile, before the student takes a step back and lets out a sigh.

Evelyn Carter:
You should probably go now, I think… Thank you JJ, for all the advice you gave me and the fun times.

JJ Night:
I should be thanking you for helping me not feel like a loser who got held back a grade! Because it almost felt like that.

Evelyn Carter:
What?

Having never realized that he could feel that way, she quickly shakes her head and takes a step forward, getting closer to him, placing her hands on his arms, right above the elbow.

Evelyn Carter:
You must be kidding, that’s not how it is! Nobody here thought that way about you, I’m sure they actually have learned a lot from you. You’re like an inspiration, one year ago you were just like us and then you were on national TV… And even when things got bad, you didn’t give up. You came back and started to climb up again and now…

She takes a pause, looking up to him.

Evelyn Carter:
Now you’re going to do amazing things, I know for sure.

JJ Night:
I’m going to do my best but also make sure I don’t get hurt. Because I know a certain someone will be nervously watching.

Night laughs and shakes his head.

JJ Night:
I’ll see you around.

JJ pulls Evelyn in for a hug, catching her by surprise. After a brief couple of seconds, he goes to pull away before he pauses, holding her arms with his but not saying anything. Standing on her tiptoes, Evelyn reaches up to place a soft kiss on his cheek.

Evelyn Carter:
And Merry Christmas, in case I don’t see you tomorrow at Below Zero.

Coming back, she looks back at him with a sad smile. He can’t help but smile before nodding and turning to leave but he hesitates before pulling Evelyn into him and he gives her a brief kiss on the lips.

JJ Night:
Merry Christmas, Vi. That’s from me to you. Something you can forget, just in case you don’t see me tomorrow at Below Zero.

That kiss takes her by surprise, leaving her momentarily at a loss for words. When she finally seems to collect herself, JJ is already halfway down the stairs, on his way out. Vi leans back against the door, bringing her hands to her chest, feeling her own heart racing. She stays like that for a few moments, before opening the door and heading back inside her room.

Singles Match
Bebe LeBeau VS Erika Eldon

In the first match of the night, Bebe and Erika faced off in singles action. Bebe opened up with a surprising show of technical skills, working Erika into an hammerlock before pulling her into a short-arm lariat.
Eldon immediately rolled out of the ring to regroup, but Bebe was back on her with a baseball slide that pushed Erika into the barricade.
Quickly bringing the fight back in the ring, Bebe went for a pin but Eldon kicked out in two. LeBeau dragged Erika up to her feet but she immediately dropped onto her knees stunning Bebe with a jawbreaker and flooring her with a superkick.
With a stunning display of agility, Erika rocked Bebe with a handspring back elbow.
The first near fall of the match for Eldon came after a running single leg dropkick, but LeBeau was too close to the ropes and she could easily rest her foot on the bottom one, interrupting the count.
A misstep from Erika left her open for a forward Russian legsweep, followed by a shining wizard. Bebe then jumped and landed across the opponent's neck with a leg drop, but not even that could keep Eldon down.
A well-timed headscissors takedown caught LeBeau off guard and allowed Erika to connect a vicious running knee strike to the back of the head. However she only got a two off of the pin.
Things really picked up in the final moments, the two young ladies went full on trading kicks. Bebe was able to dodge a roundhouse and tried to surprise Erika with a backslide.
Eldon kicked out from it and quickly surprised LeBeau with an inside cradle. This triggered a long sequence of pinfalls and counters where both competitors tried to get the decisive count of three. It was Eldon who came out victorious, with a less than perfect roll-up, helping herself with a handful of tights to secure the win.

Triple Threat Match
Devin Levandrier VS Bey Addams VS Jasper King

The triple threat started with Devin and Bey focusing on Jasper, but the King Of Pumpkins had the best of both of them with a double clothesline.
Eventually though the numbers game caught up with the former Gold Star and they managed to knock him down with a double superkick. As soon as Jasper hit the mat, Bey turned to Levandrier and floored him as well with another superkick, but the young Canadian kicked out in two.
The Wristlock Academy graduate was working Devin on the mat when King finally recovered and literally ripped her off their opponent's back and dropped her violently on the canvas with a deadlift german suplex.
His unmatched power allowed Jasper to control the match, keeping a slow pace and focusing on one opponent at the time. To do so, he wisely tossed Devin out of the ring and manhandled Bey with some power moves. As soon as Levandrier was getting back in, he dropped Addams over the top rope and turned to meet him with a big boot.
Jasper climbed up to the top rope. Was he really going for a moonsault? That seemed his intention as he hesitantly climbed up to the top rope. Bey, who was still on the outside, pushed herself up on the apron and kicked off his leg, causing him to lose balance and fall crotch first on the top turnbuckle. She then kicked him in the chest, and Jasper found himself on the tree of woe position. Levandrier hit him with a dropkick to the face and made the cover, but Addams broke it up rather quickly.
With King down, Devin and Bey battled for supremacy. Bey's technique was flawless, but Devin proved to be quite gifted as well and hold his own against the Wristlock Academy graduate, taking her down with an armdrag. She was quickly up and charged him, but another armdrag took her back to square one. The third attempt had the same outcome, only this time Levandrier kept her down in a shoulder lock.
The canvas was were Bey expressed herself best. It didn't take her long to escape the hold and put Devin into an arm submission, but once again Jasper's timing was on point and he immediately broke it up.
It was clear that, until he was on his feet, Jasper was a danger. They started kicking his legs, eventually forcing him to his knees and knock him down with a stero knee to the face. Another fight between the two exploded, this time it was Bey getting the best with a swinging neckbreaker.
Devin almost got the win with a butterfly suplex, but Bey kicked out in time.
Speaking of suplexes, seeing Jasper connecting a German on Devin while he was going for a German suplex on Addams was definitely the highlight of the night.
Bey knocked out the big man with a codebreaker but before she could make the pin she got dropped on her head by Devin's inverted ddt.
Jasper was able to make the last minute save. He then absolutely wrecked Devin with a buckle bomb, but as he was about to drop for the cover, a nasty kick to the side of the head pushed him through the ropes and out of the ring. Bey grinned as she watched Devin writhing in pain on the mat. A diving double foot stomp later, she made the cover on the canadian, getting a big win in this triple threat match.
