{The camera opens up on the darkened streets somewhere in the world and we see a line of people with a large Mexican standing outside who is manning the line with nobody attempting to bribe him or force their way past...save for one person in a black hoodie with a red spiral pattern around the edges of it who simply ignores the line and walks right up to him as the Mexican holds up one burly and scarred hand}
Brute: Eh, who the fuck do you think you are going, Pendejo?
{The person holds up a small black pouch and then hands it to him which the big man takes before he opens up to take a look inside at which point he blanches a little bit and then returns the bag}
Brute: My apologies, sir. I didn't know you were a guest of the House. Please, enter with our thanks.
{The man doesn't say anything but pats the brute on the shoulder before he steps into the building beyond and he starts to thread his way through until we can hear the sounds of what appears to be brutal combat before we actually *SEE* it as we take in a large underground fight club with a particularly brutal fight taking place before them as two luchadores are brutally going after each other in the ring, the remains of a tooth flying past the man as he makes his way through the throngs of spectators until finally he reaches a door and knocks. At which point the camera shifts angles and we see a darkly attractive woman sitting behind a large desk, looking very bored before she hears the knock above the din of the noise}
Woman: ENTER!
{A moment later, the man enters the office and closes the door behind him as the woman regards him with a curious expression before she smiles in a rather seductive way}
Woman: Of all the parlors you could walk into...you seek your way back into my temple.
{The man lets out a deep chuckle as he pushes the hood back to reveal the face of Devon Slayton who actually gives the woman a hint of a smile}
Devon: Talia, it's good to see at least one spider still going about her work.
Talia: What you call work, I call simply entertaining one of my many passions. But what can I do for you, old friend?
{Talia then motions for Devon to take a seat as she stands up and walks over to a mini bar and starts to pour a couple of drinks}
Devon: I take it that you've heard about what's happened recently?
Talia: Somewhat, but mostly rumors and here say. One thing that I've heard is that cold-eyed creature that controlled your life is gone...
{Talia turned back around and walked over to where Devon was now sitting in front of the desk and hands in a glass before she offers him up another smile as she clinked her glass against his before giving him another smile}
Talia: And good riddance might I add.
Devon: You were never one to hide how you felt about anything, Talia.
Talia: Mmm, that is true but in the state that you were in...would you have actually listened?
{Devon thinks about it very carefully as the dark woman sits down and takes a sip of her drink before Devon finally shakes his head and takes a sip of his own drink}
Devon: No...at the time I don't think I would've.
Talia: You see then, honesty is good for the soul...especially one as torn and blackened as yours, my dear. Which brings me to my question, what brings you to my temple?
{Devon rolls the amber filled glass between his two scarred and calloused hands for a few seconds before he looks over at Talia, apparently judging his own thoughts before he puts them to words}
Devon: I've lost something along the road and I need your help to find out where it took root.
{Talia smiles as she hears the words come out of Devon's mouth before taking another drink from her glass}
Talia: And tell me, what led you to this...decision? More importantly, what lead you back to *me* of all people and your thought that I could help you with such a thing?
Devon: A few things actually, Talia. If you have time for a story?
{Talia then leaned back in her chair and fixed Devon with a slightly smoldering look of dark amusement in her equally dark eyes before she motioned towards him}
Talia: Go ahead, my dear friend, all black deeds do start with a good story after all..
