Singles Match
Valentine VS NinaNina started off smart, keeping herself out of the monster’s reach, practically dancing circles around him and picking her moments to lunge in, strike, and get back out. She was able to wear Valentine to the mat and then apply a textbook ankle lock. The Ravager tried to turn himself over and kick her away, but the Chicago Fight Lab trainee was perfectly positioned, controlling the submission. Valentine’s superior strength allowed him to drag himself to the ropes and forced the break after a few long seconds of struggling. He limped a little as he stood, but was perfectly able to continue the match without any particular issue. And on they went, the fight continued following the same script. Valentine kept punching fog in an attempt to catch the elusive Chicago born, leaving himself open to Nina’s terrific counterattacks. A hard kick to the sides doubled Valentine over, giving Nina the opening to knock him down with a bicycle kick. She rushed in to make the cover but the big man kicked out before the two. Back to their feet, the former intern used her Viper Sting (Sambo casting putch) to create an opening in Valentine’s guard and rocking him with an uppercut to the chin. He stumbled back, slightly stunned from the sudden blow and ate another roundhouse kick to the side of the head. Second pinfall attempt from Nina, this time getting a count of two. A misstep from the Viper allowed Valentine to take control with a huge European uppercut, followed by a high angle belly-to-back suplex. Valentine picked the young girl up and tossed her in the corner, squashing her with a running splash. There he delivered a ten count of forearm strikes to wear her down before fully displaying his power and launching her across the ring with a Biel Toss. He took his sweet time to reach her there, and when he did she surprised him with a drop toe hold takedown. Nina was quick to snap on the ankle lock once more and look for another submission attempt but just like before, Valentine managed to reach the ropes and interrupt the submission. This second attempt did some more damage to that leg, slowing down the big man even further. But what he was missing in speed, he made up for in brute strength. All he needed to do was to grab Nina by the arm and pull her in that brutal ripcord big boot he calls Facelift. That was the turning point of the match. From that moment on, Valentine disposed of Nina, putting her through the grinder with his array of power moves, each one of them followed by the applause of his manager Evie and the boos of the Anchorage fans. Another dominating performance by the Ravager, sealed by his Desolation v2 (pumphandle piledriver) for the three count. WINNER: Valentine BY: Pinfall (Desolation v2), 9:55 |
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page is seen in the hallway of the backstage area of the Sullivan Center throwing a tantrum and yelling at an MWE employee.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
It is bad enough I have to be in a chilly ass state where a moronic ex governor thought she can see Russia from her backyard. I am constantly being put in the fire of a lunatic who has made it his mission to try to break me in half.
MWE Employee:
But isn’t that why you hired Clyde Sutter as your hired assassin?
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
That isn’t the point!!! I am one of the top assets in MWE and undoubtedly the best junior heavyweight in the company so why am I not being treated like a bigger deal because if I was you would have fired that lunatic months ago. My match at Millennium was ruined by my old buddy Alan Envy when I was on the verge of beating James once again.
MWE Employee:
Well....
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
Well...nothing!!!! You and your crew need to do better at making me happy. What I want is for that raving lunatic to be gone. Just because he has tried to atone for his sins with a great server of God isn’t enough. If the MWE won’t get rid of him Clyde and I will!!!
Tiffany turns around and storms off.
Tag Team Match
Marcus Ali Jr & Khalil Washington III VS Nightfall Rising
Fearing another interference by the religious zealots, Marcus had put one of his trusted Bad Boyz on each side of the ring. Not at ringside, not wanting them to cause distractions to their opponents, but in the front row, ready to block any possible run in attempt. Donovan and Khalil started the match for the respective teams, walking over to each other. Some trash talk between the two and when Washington went for a frontal grapple, Keane sucker punched him with an eye rake. As the Bad Boy turned around wiping his eyes, Donnie grabbed him by the hair and pulled him back onto the knee with a vicious backbreaker. He reached down and pulled the opponent up to his feet, sending him into the ropes with an Irish whip. As he came back, Donovan bent forward and flipped him over his head with a back body drop. Before KW3 could get up, Donnie jumped with a moonsault, landing with both knees on the former All-American athlete's chest. Quick tag to Jay who entered the ring with a slingshot leg drop. Marcus Ali immediately had to step in to make the save. Gallagher looked in great shape, finally having left behind the nagging injury that hindered him in the first months of the year. He attempted a wheelbarrow bulldog but Khalil blocked the attempt and dropped him on his neck with a german suplex. The Bad Boy gave the tag to Marcus who entered the ring and began throwing punches at Gallagher, showing off his boxing background. Even when Jay was trapped in the corner the punches didn’t stop, aiming at the ribcage and sides of the Nightfall trained wrestler. The former Angel Of Mercy then lifted Jay for his Thugwrench Powerbomb (gutwrench powerbomb), obtaining a count of two. The Bad Boyz were fighting probably the best match in their MWE career and, what was perhaps more surprising, they never once tried to cheap-shot the opponents or take any kind of shortcuts. Could it be that they really turned to a new leaf? Nightfall instead wasn’t against using some tricks to turn the tides of the match with Jay pretending that he’s having eyesights problems to keep the referee distracted allowing Donovan to sneak behind Ali’s back and drop him with an inverted ddt. Gallagher miraculously healed and immediately made the cover, tagging Donnie back in after Marcus kicked out. Keane challenged Ali in a striking contest, a department where the former boxer had the advantage, and for a while he even got the best of it, thanks to a flurry of kicks in which you could see Leia’s influence. But it only took Marcus one huge uppercut under the chin to floor the young man and get back in the driver’s seat. Then all of a sudden the titantron lit up while church music began to play out of the loudspeaker. Surrounded by a halo of light that made it impossible to see his facial feature, the long haired man began to speak, or rather repeating the word “Repent” over and over again in an endless singsong. Ali freaked out, yelling at the screen and at his fellow Bad Boyz, telling them to make it stop. And while Marcus was distracted, Donnie tagged in Jay and the two of them blasted Ali with the Nightshot, picking up their second win since returning. WINNER: Nightfall Rising BY: Pinfall (Nightshot), 11:09 |
It’s an ironic quirk of fate tying the two halves of Team Trillie in this cold Alaskan night. Booked in singles action they find each other facing the respective best friends from the Academy days as Millie takes on Faizah while Trinity will be facing Tiana.
If Thompson seems okay with fighting her best friend, the same can’t be said about Millie who isn’t thrilled to step in the ring against Marshall.
Trinity Thompson:
What’s wrong, teamie?
Placing a hand on Millie’s shoulder, Trinity asks the rhetorical question in an attempt to bring some comfort to her friend. Millie unravels her scarf a little so it hangs, and so she can talk without any muffled sounds.
Millie Smith:
It's my next match. Faiz and Millie again…
Millie says that second sentence softer, well aware of her teamies feelings towards her opponent.
Trinity rolls her eyes, and as much as she wanted to speak her mind about Faizah, she wouldn’t do that in presence of her team partner, afraid to hurt her feelings or at least put her in a difficult spot.
Trinity Thompson:
I know, it sucks. It’s the same thing for me fighting Tiana. It’s not ideal but it’s the job we choose. We have fought friends back in the Academy, we’re fighting them tonight and probably will fight them again in the future.
A smile forms on her lips as she continues.
Trinity Thompson:
But after the bell rings, you and Faizah will be still friends, just like you were before the match started.
Millie Smith:
You’re right. We will be.
Millie casually gets herself to straighten up a little.
Millie Smith:
It would be nice to get a win back against Faiz. She’s so tough, and I’ve kind of been picturing something…
Intrigued, Trinity raises an eyebrow.
Trinity Thompson:
What’s going through that mind of yours, huh?
As she say that, she moves her hand from the shoulder to the top of Millie’s head, playfully messing her hair up a little bit. Millie opens up her little sketch book to show a doodle of herself and then flips the page so only Trin can see.
Trinity Thompson:
Ohhh, nice!
Trinity comments as she turns another page on the sketch book. This one is showing a very muscular woman, clearly Millie’s sister Bree resting her foot on a man looking like Matt Stone, his eyes crossed with Xs and the tongue sticking out. Just then a spider drops down from above them on Trin’s hand which alarms Millie who walks back and knocks a light stand over. On it’s downfall, the light catches some christmas lights which wrap around Dean’s girlfriend’s ankle and pull her feet, making her reach out to Dean, raking his back and he drops his water bottle. The dropped bottle is stepped on by one of Luna’s private caterers, who drops a tray of specially created finger food for Luna, all of which plaster a few members of the Millennium crew.
Millie Smith:
Eeep…
Barely holding back a laughter for the catastrophic series of events Millie inadvertently put in motion, Trinity grabs her friend’s hand and begins to run away from the disaster scene, dragging Millie with her.
Trinity Thompson:
… Aaaaaaand this is our cue to leave! Come on, before they blame us and make us clean up this mess!
Singles Match
Siobhan Mahoney VS EchoWell aware of how dangerous her opponent can be, Siobhan tried to use her biting words to get under Echo’s skin. Can’t say it worked the way she hoped for as it only pissed the Australian off. As soon as they locked up in a classic collar and elbow, Echo hit her with a knee to the stomach, doubling her over. She then hit her with a sharp elbow to the back of the neck, flattening the Northern Irish. Grabbing a handful of hair, she pulled her up to her feet. Siobhan, however, punched Echo in the gut and, once up to a standing position, jumped and connected a picture perfect dropkick to knock the champion down. Echo was right back to her feet and so was Siobhan. The two women charged at one another and the Australian caught Mahoney for an early Reverb! The Human Disaster though managed to counter it with a ddt, dropping Echo on her skull. There was a cover attempt by Siobhan but she only got a two out of it. In the first minutes the match was very evenly matched. A terrific bicycle knee from Echo briefly shifted the advantage in her direction, but it was quickly stalled when Mahoney came back with the Morrigan’s curse (swinging neckbreaker). The fierce battle where neither woman was holding anything back quickly worn both competitors out. Echo took a moment to recover against the corner after nailing SIobhan with a brainbuster. The Northern Irish shook it off and charged at her but Echo lunged in and lifted her with a flapjack, dropping her face first on the top turnbuckle. The impact left Siobhan dazed and Echo seized the opportunity to run into her and break her in half with a massive spear. Somehow Mahoney managed to survive the brutal impact, kicking out at the very last moment. She surged and was quickly yanked in Echo’s pull-back lariat, barely managing to duck it. Finding herself behind the Junior Heavyweight champion, Siobhan hooked her arm around the Australian’s head in an inverted headlock and drilled her into the canvas at full force with a ddt. She threw everything she got in an attempt to be the one who ended Echo’s undefeated streak, from the Blarney Stoned (sitout facebuster) to the Shillelagh (spin kick) that gave her so many wins in her career, but nothing could keep the Aussie down. Siobhan unleashed her frustration with a flurry of punches, leaving Echo stunned in the middle of the ring. Hitting the ropes, she went for the Eire Raid (running bicycle knee strike), running right into the Reverb. The Australian hooked the leg to secure another win, cockily posing with a foot on the fallen opponent’s chest when the referee raised her arm in victory. WINNER: Echo BY: Pinfall (The Reverb), 9:31 |
We cut backstage where we find “The Assassin” Clyde Sutter standing there, eerily calm but staring with his cold emotionless eyes back into the camera. Sutter is dressed in his all black ring gear and he has his newly won MWE MENTV Championship title belt draped over his right shoulder.
Clyde Sutter
The religions of the world have their prophets. But do you know what separates the true prophets from the frauds? Those who are legitimate find their prophecies come true. And I told everyone that this tournament would be sacrifices. I swore to all of you that there would be three sacrifices and that I would leave as the new champion. And look at what happened?
He pats the title belt draped over his shoulder.
Clyde Sutter
I ended dreams, I broke bodies, and I became the champion. This championship is a de facto middle finger in the face of each and every person who has ever tried to hold me back. From Glory Braddock who kicked me out of her wrestling school and tried to use her influence to keep me blacklisted to Mason Van Stanton who tried to keep me on a leash. The fact is that no one can tame the unrelenting fury of The Assassin. But if you think that just because I’m a champion now that my appetite for destruction and violence will be quenched then you are painfully wrong. This championship will not end the sacrifices. The sacrifices will continue.
He chuckles.
Clyde Sutter
Mr. Envy, as a man of god you should know a thing or two about sacrifices. God does require sacrifices to pay for the sins of mankind. One would think that a man of god such as yourself would know better than to get caught up in sinful behavior. But you made the ultimate mistake of sticking your nose into my business. You have sinned and now you are back at the top of the list of those who shall be sacrificed. But you won’t be alone.
Sutter shakes his head.
Clyde Sutter
Mr. Edwards, I’ve been saying it week in and week out that everyone has a time. Your clock will expire soon, Mr. Edw, and it seems as if you are doing everything you can think of to speed along your extinction. I know you want to break Ms. Page in half, and quite honestly, I can’t blame you. But you need to learn when to quit. Your stubborn never say die, never quit attitude is normally something to be applau. But this time it will get you killed. And tonight may be the night your time runs out.
The Assassin turns and walks off.
Singles Match
Millie Smith VS Faizah MarshallIt was all Millie in the beginning of the match as he opened up with a step up enziguri that left Faizah off balance and seeing stars. She followed up with a running tornado DDT that got a huge pop from the crowd, but only a two count. A reverse hurricanrana as soon as Marshall was on her feet put her back on the canvas, Seeing his employer in difficulty, TD Batterson pulled Faizah out of the ring, giving her a chance to regroup. Millie wasn’t all too pleased with the interruption but waited inside the ring for her friend to come back Faizah took half of the ten count before sliding back in the ring and locking up with Millie. She put her in a side headlock, Millie pushed her into the ropes and dropped to the canvas, forcing the Original BAE to jump over her and continue her run to the opposite side of the ring. On the second rebound, Smith leapfrogged over Marshall and quickly turned around, ready to catch the two-time Academy Gold Star with a dropkick. Faizah saw that coming and hooked her arms to the ropes, stopping her momentum and causing Millie to crash onto the mat after the failed attempt. Before the blonde could get up to her feet, Marshall leveled her with a shining wizard, attempting a pinfall of her own and getting her first near fall. The two friends were putting on an absolute clinic. Knowing each other so well, they seemed to read the opponent’s mind, countering their most characteristic moves. A missed corner clothesline from Millie meant a running corner dropkick right between the shoulders from Faizah who then quickly rolled her up with a schoolboy obtaining another near fall. Smith blocked the exploder suplex attempt and stunned the Best At Everything with a jumping knee, following with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors. Slowly Faizah picked herself up to his knees and got knocked down by a running meteora from the young Smith who then hit a standing moonsault and hooked the leg for another near fall. Many would consider a win for Millie tonight an upset, mostly because she’s often given the best of herself in tag team action. But the young woman was looking impressive tonight, outshining the Original BAE. But Marshall found a second wind and the two went blow-for-blow into the end of the match. Faizah got a near fall off of her brainbuster, but Millie threw a foot on the rope. The Bahama born borrowed a move from her big brother in an attempt to pin Faizah for the three but her version of the Mean Dean only got her a two and half. Smith tried to maintain the momentum charging at Faizah at full speed but the Bostonian caught her with a scoop powerslam. Wasting no time, Marshall bounced on the middle rope to elevate herself to the top rope, twisting in mid air to land across the opponent with the BAE Alert, enough to give her the win. WINNER: Faizah Marshall BY: Pinfall (BAE Alert), 10:05 |
We cut backstage were MWE Intercontinental champion, Matt Stone, is leaning against the wall, scrolling through his phone and typing something with one hand. He’s so focused on the task at hand - whatever that is - that he doesn’t notice who’s walking down the hall towards him. Which happens to be Bree Smith. Her hair tied up in a ponytail and fed through her monster’s inc hat. She’s bundled up for this event with a nice, padded jacket over a mustard yellow jumper and some black jeans that look quite new. Bree hands out a few coffees to the good, hard-working crew who make the show happen, all who react like she’s in an episode of cheers. Hearing the commotion, Matt looks up from his phone and sighs, putting the device in his pocket.
Matt Stone:
Of course it’s Bree making a racket. Who would have thought?
Bree Smith:
Of course it’s Matt Stone commenting on Breeliant stuff happening.
As Bree helps herself to a hot chocolate and goes into that deep state when she takes a first sip, feeling it drop all the way in and sighs with content. Clearly one of the little things that kept her smile bright. Matt just shakes his head in disgust.
Matt Stone:
Ugh, do you have to do that in front of me? You’re like Kevin taking a bite of a candy bar.
Bree Smith:
Tis the season to enjoy the little things. Like you. Little Guy.
Bree quips after what happened to her mom and sister last week. Matt just smirks at her little put down, tapping the championship wrapped around his waist.
Matt Stone:
Little? I’m the MAIN EVENT tonight, when was the last time you were in the main event, Bree? Hmmm? It’s okay, I can wait.
Bree Smith:
I can be in the main event when I want. Breelieve me, Little Fish. I may even go there…
As Bree glances at the belt plate a little.
Bree Smith:
With some gold to cover my waist.
As she draws that title across her waist and bites her lip excitedly. Matt looks down at his title, then back up to Bree, chuckling.
Matt Stone:
You want to have a shot at my title? You have to earn that match with me, you can’t just get hands out like you’re giving away hot beverages to every Tom, Dick and Harry. Breelieve…that.
Millennium Staff:
You ok here, Bree?
One of the staff who she brought coffee too asks, and she waves it off.
Bree Smith:
Yeah, it’s cool Tom. You, Harry and Rich got my oreos in though.
Tom:
Yeah we got them in for you.
Bree Smith:
Ok, Cool. Thanks Dude.
Then Bree walks around Matt, seeing the champion for what he’s worth.
Bree Smith:
But then again, maybe I’ll bring the Lockdown championship to the main event scene…
Matt Stone:
Tell ya what, since I’m feeling so generous. If you win the Lockdown championship, maybe I’ll put up my title for yours. Just imagine, Matt Stone as Millennium's only dual champion. Yeah, I like the sound of that.
Bree Smith:
Pffft cutting Kyle out like that. I’d say it should be you, him, and Bree makes three. Then when I walk out dual champion….well...then maybe I’ll bring you a hot beverage like Sheldon Lee Cooper tells us to bring to folks who are upset. Though, I don’t know how big of a tantrum you’ll pull losing to me.
Bree turns to the side to pose with her bicep curled, showing she’d kept them as well tuned guns. Matt looks at her arm, poking her bicep with his finger.
Matt Stone:
Yeah, you’ve got muscles, good for you, but I have the most important one developed beyond the rest.
He says, pointing at his brain. Bree knocks on the top of his head
Bree Smith:
Hmmm.. sounds kinda hollow, Dude.
She says chuckling. Matt’s face puffs up like he’s getting angry before taking a deep breath and just sighing.
Matt Stone:
Ya know what? Not worth it, I’ve got a big match with Duke Andrews to get ready for. I’m not going to let you get in my head!
Bree Smith:
Still….sounds like there’s room to rent in your melon, Dude.
She shrugs and turns, whipping him with her ponytail before heading back to the group of guys she was with before. Matt watches her walk away, thinking about what she said before narrowing his gaze.
Matt Stone:
We’ll see about that…
Singles Match
Tiana Petrova-Hammond VS Trinity ThompsonThe two friends started the match with a handshake, though you could see Tiana was the more nervous of the two, the fallout from On The Rise clearly still affecting her. At the sound of the bell, the Russian-American started off with a quick volley of stiff martial arts style kicks, continuing with a snapmare into a soccer kick to the spine. She then reached down and put Trinity in a rear chin lock. Thompson slowly stood up, trying to get out of the hold but failing at that. Then all of a sudden she surprised Tiana with a sudden elbow that caught her right on the jaw. Petrova-Hammond was wide open for the snap suplex that followed. The two were quickly up to their feet but Trinity was faster to kick her friend in the stomach and drop her down with a snap ddt. Thompson hooked the leg and went for the pin, obtaining the first near fall. If you remember their matches last year in the Academy, you could see how far Trinity had come in the past months. Back then, they were almost one way matches where Tiana would control the opponent easily from bell to bell, but tonight it was Trinity who was dictating the pace of the match. She almost picked up the victory with a satellite ddt, but Tiana was able to kick out.. As the first ever Gold Star started to get to her feet, Thompson went for a shining wizard but Tiana ducked it and grabbed the opponent’s ankle, twisting it in a tight submission. Luckily for her, the ropes were right between reach. The second part of the match was completely different than the first one we witnessed. Starting from the pace, much slower now that Tiana took control, leaving no room for her bestie’s flips. She kept the Naptown Girl grounded with headlocks and neck holds, switching to strikes when she sufficiently worn her out, obtaining her first near fall with a spinning back fist followed by a spinning kick. Trinity managed to make a short comeback with an interesting kicking combination of her own but right before she could hit the final question mark kick, Tiana grabbed her leg and took her down to the mat, immediately applying the Chicago Lab calf crush. Thompson cried out in pain as soon as the dangerous submission was locked in, desperately trying to escape it. But despite her effort, she couldn’t find a way out of the submission. She looked on the verge of tapping out, which considering her recent injury was probably the wisest decision. But then Tiana let go, standing up and looking down at her friend, visibly upset. And while Figgles mocked her for this, Amy could relate more with what just happened in the ring pointing out how that was the same move Echo used to break Yulia’s leg, and Tiana was afraid she could do the same to her best friend. When she went to pick her up though, Trinity surprised her with an inside cradle, almost getting the three count. Tiana kicked out and immediately blasted Thompson with a wicked knee to the face, making the cover right away. Thompson popped her shoulder up, staying in the match. Not for long though as Petrova-Hammond immediately put her in another ankle lock for a quick tap out. WINNER: Tiana Petrova-Hammond BY: Submission (Ankle Lock), 10:43 |
The scene fades in to seeing Alex Andrews already standing in the ring. She has a microphone in hand, but is busy waving to the fans in the crowd, the ones whom have taken to her pretty well by now. After a moment, she brings that microphone up to her lips, taking a brief peek to her waist.
Alex Andrews:
I got to tell you something guys, it feels weird to not have that weight of the MENTV title around my waist. It's even stranger watching someone else walking around with it, but hey.
Alex smiles brightly.
Alex Andrews:
I did what I said I would. I defended that championship five times. Five times I put it up for grabs and five times I managed to successfully defend it. I even beat a former World Champion in Alan Envy in the process and that's no easy task. And so, now it's time for business. I'm going to get what I want. I'm going to get what I earned.
Alex begins pacing in the ring as she continues speaking.
Alex Andrews:
Pierce Manning, you aren't the only one to make history now. You may have been the first, but now, I'm the first woman to do such a task. So come Below Zero, you and I…
I Come From Money by Kevin Rudolf plays. The crowd instantly knows who it is. The boos reign down as Pierce Manning comes out with a three piece tailor made suit. With microphone in hand and the Riot Championship wrapped around his waist he inches closer and closer to the ring.
Pierce Manning:
Doesn’t feel good to be interrupted now does it?
Pierce reaches the ring steps. Walking up the step he walks across the apron. He makes his way inside the ring. He wasted no time walking straight to Alex.
Pierce Manning:
Congratulations Alex. It took over a year for someone to duplicate my accomplishment. Your old pal Neil could not do it. You proved the faith he had in you wasn’t all for nothing, here you stand across the ring from The Man who has defined this brand for a very, very, very long time.
The audience boos, disagreeing with his bold claim. Pierce smirks, not giving a damn what they think.
Pierce Manning:
The weight of the MENTV Championship doesn’t compare to representing this brand in every aspect that counts. You’re a good wrestler, won’t take that away from you. It takes a lot more to be a champion than wearing a championship. I am the man who goes out there on local radio promoting the Riot and the MWE brand to the fullest extent. I am the man, whenever someone in the back can’t make it to an event cause they are off working for another promotion, I pick up the slack. I don’t wear this three piece suit for show. I wear custom made suits every day of my life, why? Someone has to represent the Riot brand and this company out in the real world. No one has been able to live up to that pressure better than me. I don’t think you can live up to that, Alex. I am going to do you a favor. After I put you down, once you accept who The Man around here is, you’ll thank me for ridding you of the pressure of being the representative of this show. A rare breed is capable of following in my footsteps. You’re not that breed, Alex.
The crowd boos heavily. Pierce pats himself on the chest, proud of the words he delivered to Alex. Alex just blinks at Pierce, just stunned at his sheer audacity. She takes a look down at his suit and then at her tee shirt and leggings. She shakes her head at him.
Alex Andrews:
In all back patting you did there, you did come up with a valid point or two. We are both very different breeds. You're a sleazy, egotistical asshole who likes to listen to the sound of his own voice. I am not. I'm a fighter. I'm never going to be the biggest person in any fight so I've had to learn to scrap to get what's mine. To get what I can. You not so much.
She just shakes her head at him.
Alex Andrews:
You aren't the first person to doubt my capabilities. To doubt how far I can go. You don't think I can withstand the pressure that THAT..
Alex pokes her finger towards the Riot Championship.
Alex Andrews:
"itle. You obviously don't know a single thing about me. I can represent the Riot brand just as well as you, if not better. While you have done an admirable job carrying that title, I worked my ass off. And WHEN I take that title from you, I'll continue to work that damn hard.
The crowd goes wild for Alex. They sit in anticipation with what Pierce is going to say or do next. All Pierce offers is a shrug. He turns his back to his challenger, walks towards the ropes and exits the ring. "I Want It All" by Queen plays. Alex interacts with the fans a little as Pierce walks to the back, out of sight, out of mind.
Tag Team Match
Tiffany Lynn-Page & Clyde Sutter VS Alan Envy & James Edwards
This match was a direct consequence of Alan’s attack last Wednesday during the match between James Edwards and Tiffany Lynn-Page. The Burning Heart made it clear already in the past that he’s not too keen on teaming up with anyone, let alone the man who cost him the chance to get his hands on the resident Diva. The tension between the two teammates was visible in the heated argument they had over who should start the match. Clyde settled the dispute with a double clothesline that floored both of them. He then picked James up and threw him outside the ring, picking Alan as his first opponent. He tossed him in the corner and drove his shoulder into the Lonestar’s midsection several times. The Assassin went for an irish whip but Envy countered it, sending Clyde back first into the corner. Wasting no time, Alan charged toward him at full speed, blasting him with a running big boot. Both went for broke right out of the gate, picking up where they left one week ago in their match for the MENTV championship. Alan battered Sutter with elbows to the face until he was pinned in the corner, hoisting him up on the top rope ready to superplex him. A high-pitched scream caught everyone’s attention. Alan turned to see his tag partner assaulting Tiffany on the outside, tackling her down and hammering at her with forearm strikes. Sutter jumped off the top rope and dropped a double axe handle on the distracted Alan’s skull, dropping him down and immediately rushing to rescue Tiffany, grabbing James under his arms and throwing him into the barricade. Shockingly things didn’t degenerate any further than that and order was restored. Tiffany asked and obtained the tag from Sutter to keep herself away from other possible attacks from Edwards. As for James, at this point he was almost begging Alan to let him in the ring, and the Lonestar would’ve loved to give him the chance but the former MENTV champion was giving him no break, rocking him with a surprise springboard tornado DDT followed by a shining wizard as he was starting to stir up. The momentum eventually shifted back in Alan’s favor when he caught the charging Tiffany with his pop-up death valley driver, dropping her on her neck. Wasting no time he made the tag to Edwards who hopped inside the ring and fired in toward Page. His charge ended halfway into a stiff clothesline from Sutter who then pretty much dragged the former MENTV champion closer to the corner and tagged himself in. Edwards was furious, once again he couldn’t get his hands on Page and lashed it out on Sutter. smacking him around with the Triple Play. With The Assassin down, he focused once again on Tiffany, trying to knock her off the apron with a right hook but missing the target. Alan yelled at him, causing him to turn around just in time to duck Sutter’s clothesline from hell. Edwards continued his run to the ropes, receiving a smart blind tag from Alan. James dodged another clothesline and continued his run to the opposite side of the ring, launching himself through the middle and top rope spearing Tiffany on the hard floor below. Clyde looked at him slightly confused. When the realization of what happened kicked in, it was already too late. Alan was right there and he quickly planted him on his head with the Envious Demise ddt. WINNER: Alan Envy & James Edwards BY: Pinfall (Envious Demise), 12:27 |
We are moments away from the main event of the first time MWE took over Anchorage. The crowd had been wild from the get go. The dark matches before the show went live until now. That’s when the lights went down to pure black. A singular bright green spotlight hit the center of the stage.
“Can’t be touched, can’t be stopped, can’t be moved, can’t be rocked, can’t be shook”
The crowd began to hit a fever pitch as “Can’t Be Touched” by Roy Jones Jr hit the speakers. The simple white lettering scrolling across the tron “Epitome of Perfection”
It didn’t take long for our current MWE World Heavyweight Champion to hit the stage under the green light. Holding the title out stretched in his right hand before slowly making his way to the ring. He was dressed for his match with Matt Stone that was coming up after this. His singlet was all black, a bright green trim along the legs and lettering of his name across the back. The lion on the front of his singlet was black, but instead of the matte finish of the rest of the singlet, it was done with shine.
The lights slowly picked up as he stood on the corner of the ring, his feet planted firmly on metal steps as he took in the crowd. It had been a while since he wasn’t universally booed by the crowd. After a second of taking it in, he slapped the title over his shoulder and hopped into the ring and grabbed a microphone.
Duke Andrews:
It’s been a few weeks since I have been on Riot. It’s been some few weeks since I’ve had much to say. Instead..
He trailed off as he let out a deep sigh.
Duke Andrews:
Instead, I’ve watched something within this company eat away at everything I’ve ever believed. There’s dozens of people on this roster, and not one of them has shown the courage to step up and fight me for this.
He turns and looks at the title over his shoulder. The crowd pops as he hoists it from his shoulder in his hand.
Duke Andrews:
This is the pinnacle of this company. There shouldn’t be a shortage of people that are lining up to step up and challenge me. I can’t figure it out. I came out here a few weeks ago, in this very ring, and one god damn person stepped up. Gloria Braddock. She stepped up and staked claim to becoming sixteen time world champion. And then at On The Rise, in her stipulation of an Iron Man match, I put the ol girl down and didn’t look back. And then I expected more people to jump.
He paused again. Lowering the microphone.
Duke Andrews:
Which brings me to where I’m at. A state of the roster, if you will. Olly.
The brief mention of one half of the former tag team champions brings a chorus of boo’s from the crowd.
Duke Andrews:
I have tried to guide you the right way. I have tried to get you to understand the way this industry works. And every single time, you get a little more cocky. You get a little higher on your horse, and boy, let me tell you that stunt you pulled a few nights ago. It won’t go unpunished. I’m not stepping on Clyde Jr’s toes for this. But I will make sure that you get what’s coming to you. You have written enough checks with that mouth of yours, and I’m sure that either Vince, or Elsa, or even Grace will make that match official. You wanted to be an artist with what you did…
He lowers the microphone and walks towards the corner. Laying the title over the turnbuckle.
Duke Andrews:
Savell, this is where the attention is turned to you. See, I loved you coming back, kicking Seth in the head. That’s the lone thing you and I will probably ever agree with. And where we start disagreeing…is when you start running your mouth. See, if Seth and I are agreeing on something, then it means that you must’ve said something so fucking off the wall…I’ve been here for almost four years and put the entire weight of this company on my back. I’ve spilled gallons of blood over that time. Left my mark across this country, Canada, China, Mexico, and everywhere else Grace has sold out for. And the one thing that I know to be a fucking fact? Ain’t once anyone said that Julian Savell built this company. Not once has your name been mentioned with the greats of this business. Not once has your name even been mentioned, until you came back in Colorado. But? That’s a fight I’ll save for Seth. As far as I’m concerned, the two of you can go give each other CTE.
Duke slowly picked up his pace and walked back to grab his title. Slinging the fifteen pounds of gold and leather over his shoulder.
Duke Andrews:
Today makes 139 days since I won this title. With that, here comes something that’s already been cleared with Vince, Elsa, and Grace. With the events of the last episode of Millennium, Lowri Moss and Joey LeClair. Pay attention.
Duke walked towards the hard camera.
Duke Andrews:
Breaking news, you two and I are going to dance at Below Zero. Joey LeClair versus Lowri Moss versus The MWE World Heavyweight Champion Duke Andrews.
Singles Match
Duke Andrews VS Matt StoneAmy Maynard: “The fans here in Anchorage witnessed a great night of wrestling but this next match? This is some Pay-Per-View caliber main event.” Sir Figgles: “Which makes Moretti’s decision to give it away for free on national TV straight from the middle of nowhere, Alaska a particularly dumb call.” Amy Maynard: “Not if you’re one of these fans who filled the Sullivan Center tonight. They LOVE to see the World Champion taking on the Intercontinental Champion.” Matt and Duke both began to circle one another in the ring. The Epitome Of Perfection wasted no time and leaned forward quickly for a vicious headbutt. The shot dazed Stone leading Andrews to charge with some stiff right hands. He worked him toward the corner with a quick flurry of strikes. As soon as he felt the ropes, Matt leaned back, sticking his torso out of the ring and raising his hand asking for a clean break. The referee was quick to step between the two contenders, preventing Duke from landing any further punch. The World champion took a step back and waited for Stone to make his move. Swing and a miss for the Straight Shooter with the right hook, ducked by Andrews who then lifted him in the air and dropped him tailbone first onto his knee with an atomic drop, following up with a lariat to the back of the head. Amy Maynard: “Strong start by Duke, taking Stone completely off guard.” Sir Figgles: “Do you have any idea how embarrassing it would be for the world champion to lose to the IC champion? More so after throwing out a challenge like he did earlier tonight. That’s not the message he wants to send to his opponent.” Matt was once again stuck in the corner but this time, rather than looking for the easy way out, he reached up to take hold of both of Duke’s shoulders then shifted his feet quickly to completely swap positions with the champion in the corner. Andrews ended up with his back against the turnbuckles, leaving his chest exposed to Matt’s chops. Duke tried to fight his way out of that uncomfortable spot with a knife-edge chop of his own but the Abominable Showman once again turned the tables with a solid European uppercut, sending him back into the corner. Matt tried to lift Duke to the top rope for his patented elevated ace crusher but the Michigan’s Favorite Son started elbowing between the shoulder and the neck, blocking the attempt. Stone stepped back holding that part with a grimace of pain on his face. The expression suddenly changed as he saw Duke exploding out of the corner with his Killshot, but at that point it was already too late to get out of the way. The knee strike caught him right on the mush, knocking him on his back. Andrews quickly dropped into a cover but the Intercontinental champion kicked out in two. Amy Maynard: “Looks like Matt still hasn’t found his footing in this match.” Sir Figgles: “He needs to come up with a different strategy. Taking on Duke head on like this is only getting him the ass whooping of a lifetime.” And so Matt did, breaking the collar and elbow tie up with a stomp to the foot and flipping Duke to the mat with a snapmare. She put him in a headlock, trying to keep him grounded but once again the champ’s superior strength came into plat as he managed to get up and started throwing elbows to Matt’s stomach. Stone almost hold the grasp but quickly closed the hold back in, immediately taking Duke down to the mat. Slowing down the pace, Matt gave the fans a glimpse of his technical prowess, keeping Duke down for a couple of minutes, putting him through several submissions. The last one was a sharpshooter, which Andrews managed to escape by dragging himself to the ropes. Amy Maynard: “Looks like he listened to your advice, Figgles.” Sir Figgles: “I take that back, nobody wants to see minutes of pointless holds. I hope Duke knocks his head off so we can call it a night. I’m freezing my ass over here.” Duke rolled out of the ring quickly to gather himself. Stone reached him on the apron and the two began fighting in that dangerous spot. Duke quickly got the upper hand but Stone poked him in the eye and ruthlessly dropped the World champion head first on the edge of the ring with a ddt. Duke fell on the floor down below where Matt continued to stomp him with all he’s got. Andrews took hold of his right foot and tripped the Intercontinental champion over, causing his head to bounce on the concrete floor. The referee’s count has reached five already and Duke didn’t waste any further time, picking up Matt and rolling him back in the ring. Clearly dazed, Stone tried to exit on the opposite side of the ring, rolling toward Nicole’s voice. But Andrews grabbed him as he was about to slip under the bottom rope and dragged him back in. Matt’s manager protested with Duke and the referee, asking for a time out for her “potentially injured client” but that obviously never happened. What happened instead was that the distraction allowed Matt to get up to his feet and clock Andrews with a brutal discus elbow to the back of the head. The champ bumped forward into the ropes and bounced back into a full nelson suplex from the Canadian. Matt looked still a bit dizzy but he stayed on the attack, jumping in the air and coming back with a knee drop on the champ. The leg was hooked and the cover was made but Andrews was still in the match. Amy Maynard: “Once again Nicole Rossi played a part in her client’s comeback.” Sir Figgles: “Love her or hate her, the woman knows what she’s doing. She’s a great asset for the Intercontinental champion.” Stone walked over to Duke, who stumbled up to one knee. He came in to get a hold of the world champion but he countered with a solid headbutt. Then a second, and a third! Both of them are left dizzy and with cuts from the impact across their Andrews recovered faster than his opponent and closed the distance between them with another Killshot, dodged by Stone who once again rolled out of the ring, heading to his manager and saying that, for all he cared, the match was over. Nicole tried to get him back in the ring but he ran his hand across his forehead wiping some blood on his fingers and showing it to her. As if she didn’t see it as it trickled down his face. Determined to call it a night, Matt headed up on the ramp and replying with rude gestures to the fans booing him and calling him a coward. Andrews wasn’t letting him walk out of the match and rushed out of the ring, determined to bring the Canadian back in the ring. The boos turned into cheers and a devious smirk appeared on Matt’s face. Now he knew that Duke was coming and quickly turned around, kicking the World champion in the stomach and dropping him face first on the steel ramp with a flatliner. Duke was down, not moving following the impact. Matt gloated, taunting the fans and thanking them for playing right in his hand. He then picked up Andrews and dragged him back inside the ring, making the cover for a 2.9. Amy Maynard: “How did he kick out?” Sir Figgles: “He’s the champion for a reason, Amy..” Matt couldn’t believe it, but he knew better than arguing with the official. He instead pulled his opponent up and wore him down with some more punches to the head. He tried to end the match with Duke’s electric chair driver, lifting the champion over his shoulder in an electric chair position. Duke suddenly came back with a second wind, punching Matt’s head and raking his eyes to break free. He jumped off his shoulder, landing behind Stone’s back and picking him up for the original One Winged Angel. The move connected and the champ made the cover. Sir Figgles: And that’s all she… Amy Maynard: “He kicked out! Matt is still in the match!” Duke was visibly frustrated and he let it out with the Red Wing Stomps. He then went for a second Andrews Effect, but this time Matt escaped and kicked the World champion in the stomach. The Abominable Showman pushed the champ’s head between his thighs and tried his stalling piledriver, ending up landing on his back as Duke countered it. The Red, White And Blue Combo hit Matt as soon as he got up to his feet, setting him up for a second and final Andrews Effect. WINNER: Duke Andrews BY: Pinfall (Andrews Effect), 19:44 |
