Singles Match
Teddy Steele VS Tiff RollinsLast week represented the lowest point in her career. A phrase that’s been tossed around quite frequently when talking about Tiff. And every time, another setback came right after, even more surprising than the previous one. Her loyal fans though apparently haven’t lost faith in the former Cloud Gate champion, giving her a warm welcome as she walked to the ring without much enthusiasm. Before the bell even rang, Teddy darted out of his corner and raced across the ring, surprising Tiff with a shoulder block and slamming her back first into the corner. He then unloaded with a series of body punches, rights and lefts crashing into Memphis’ stomach and ribs. After landing half a dozen, Teddy then delivered a stiff kick to the side of Tiff’s right knee, forcing her leg to give out from under him. Just as Tiff dropped down to one knee, Steele took a couple of steps back to charge toward her with a shining wizard. Tiffany had it scouted and rolled under the bottom rope to avoid the kick. Teddy was able to grab the ropes with both hands, stopping his momentum before colliding against the corner. He dragged Tiffany up to her feet, looking to bring her back inside the ring. She drove her shoulder in his midsection and doubled him over, sliding under the bottom rope and through his legs to reappear behind his back and deliver a shoot kick to the lower back before pulling him down on her extended knee for a backbreaker. The Five Foot Death Kick dominated most of the match, though she mostly limited herself to control the pace and the opponent without actually doing much to win it. She seemed hesitant, almost scared to make one mistake that would cost her another humiliating loss. By doing so, she gave Teddy the opportunity to make his comeback and, unlike her, Teddy went straight for the kill. He began throwing quick jabs in his usual fashion, waving from side to side in a little dance before delivering a knockout shot to floor the blonde girl. He hooked the leg for a cover, only getting a two. Dragging her toward the corner, he slammed her head on the top turnbuckle, doing it again for the other three corners as well. Setting the dazed opponent against the turnbuckle, he then proceeded to choke her using his foot, keeping it pressed against her neck for as long as the referee allowed it.Climbing up to the top rope, Teddy tucked her head underneath her arm and flipped over, dropping her down with his diamond dust jawbreaker Droppin Da Beat. The fans watched in shock as he made the cover, would this be another loss for the former champion? Not this time! At the last moment, Tiff popped a shoulder up and kicked out. Tiffany was struggling to pull herself up after surviving the very best that Teddy had to offer, barely escaping the pinfall by the skin of her teeth. As the replays showed, it was clearly a two count, but Teddy still argued with the referee, not believing the down on her luck Little Hoss was still in it. Tiff pulled herself up gingerly, closing her eyes for a moment as she tried to focus, as Teddy came over, showboating a little in self confidence. He weaved from side to side, cockily shooting out a couple of jabs at Tiff, staggering her as she rose with shaky legs. Teddy was even laughing at a point, loudly proclaiming “You ain’t so bad,” as he weaved and struck. Tiff staggered, her eyes closing for a second as if in deep thought, and in a sudden move weaved out of the way of Teddy’s next strike. Perplexed, Teddy threw out another, but in some sudden fancy footwork, Tiff dodged another jab, then another. Steele grew even more frustrated with Tiff’s quickening movements, the fans gasping for each dodge, and Teddy lashed out with a vicious hook. But in a sudden movement, Tiff ducked under the swing, then fired off with a hugely uncharacteristic straight right! Her fist smashed into Teddy’s face, opening a minor cut on the eyebrow as Steele staggered and dropped to a knee. Tiff waved her hand, that shot hitting seriously hard, and Teddy was clearly dazed as he pulled himself up. Tiff was fast on her feet again, showing some aggression as she leapt up with a High Knee, connecting with the Peacemaker as Teddy dropped onto his behind, his eyes almost rolling into the back of his head. Tiff’s own eyes opened wide, seeing her opportunity, sliding back a step before launching at Teddy with that devastating Death Kick of hers! She connected full force, immediately diving for the cover and getting the three count as the fans let out a joyous roar for the former Cloud Gate Champion. WINNER: Tiff Rollins BY: Pinfall (Death Kick), 10:43 |
The scene opens backstage. Immediately the fans cheer louder than usual. Mainly cause one half of the MWE Tag Team Champions, Neil Newman, is from Boston, Massachusetts. Sophie is standing next to him. Both members of the Glorious Golden Era have their tag titles wrapped around their waist.
Neil Newman:
What’s going on BOSTON?!
Neil’s hometown crowd erupts with cheers at the obvious (and heartfelt) cheap pop. He displays a smile on his face.
Neil Newman:
Being a champion again feels pretty damn good. Know what else feels good? Being a living example and proof that hard work is rewarded. As long as you keep your nose to the grindstone, it may take longer than you anticipated, keep plugging, your hardwork will eventually pay off. Take these bad boys for instance.
Neil points to the MWE World Tag Team Championship around his waist then points at Sophie’s. The crowd cheers.
Neil Newman:
This isn’t all about me. Sophie has put in the work just as much as anyone. She could have become discouraged not seeing the fruits of her labor. Should have been IC Champion if it wasn’t for that devious Megan Monroe. Most people would have thought, what’s the point of all this. Sophie isn’t one of those people. Doubt she sees herself as an inspiration. I do. I’m proud of her. Glory. Kyle. They’re proud of her. Professional wrestling should be proud. To be in the Glorious Golden Era comes with the knowledge that professional wrestling is full of ebbs and flows, sometimes it's your time, other times it's not. I am proud to say, this is me and Sophie’s time.
The crowd roars. Neil nods in appreciation.
Neil Newman:
Team Trille. How many times have we done this dance before? You’ve yet to overcome us. We are synonymous with each other. Your MWE debut fell in line with me and Sophie’s first match as a tag team. You two have put in the work. We won’t deny that. One day you’ll become tag team champions of the world. Is tonight the night you two finally overcome your Waterloo? Not if we have anything to say about it. Losing in my hometown is not an option. Losing our first match after we won the championship isn’t in the cards.
Sophie shakes her head, agreeing with her partner.
Sophie O’Brian:
Sun-Tzu once said, “In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity.” The ladder match at On The Rise was chaotic in many ways. The chaos K2O brought upon themselves creating way more enemies than necessary. Olly egging on Karen’s son to the point where he finally grew a set of balls to defend himself at the expense of his mommy’s approval. Fabolous, Warblade showed they weren’t about to take advantage of the opportunity. The Glorious Golden Era showed in spades why we are the top of the food chain.
A condescending smirk forms on Sophie’s face.
Sophie O’Brian:
Team Trille. You still have a lot to learn. As my partner stated, you two have yet to overcome us, what makes tonight any different? You lack the experience and the pedigree to truly understand what it takes to win when it counts. Your youthful exuberance won’t be enough. Me and Neil have worked way too hard to fall to a bunch of children. See you out there.
Singles Match
Leia LeBeau VS Clyde Eldon Jr.The match began with both Clyde Eldon Jr. and Leia LeBeau pacing around each other in the center of the ring. Both looked very cautious, keeping their eyes on the opponent waiting for an opening. CEJ made the first move, charging at The Show in an attempt to land a running lariat. The former Junior Heavyweight champion was able to duck the lariat and deliver a dropkick to the back of Clyde, sending him into the ropes and stumbling over them. Eldon hit the mat outside, Leia wasted no time, quickly following him, getting ready to heave him back into the ring. But Clyde came up and surprised her with a hard European Uppercut, knocking the young girl onto her back. He then pulled her up and slammed her head on the apron before tossing her back underneath the bottom rope and into the ring. There, CEJ delivered a few hard kicks into LeBeau’s chest before dropping onto her with an elbow drop. Hooking the leg, he went for a quick pin but only got a two count from the referee. Looking to end things early, he sent Leia against the ropes and charged for his For You Dad spear but LeBeau avoided it with a leapfrog. As soon as Clyde turned around, Leia blasted him with a superkick and followed with her standing somersault legdrop, making the first cover of her match and getting a count of two. Clyde’s confidence was at an all time high after the big win obtained at On The Rise against Tiff, and it showed in tonight’s performance. He had the former Junior Heavyweight champion on the ropes, in the most literal way. He kept pushing her with quick strikes to the midsection, then fired her on the opposite side and caught her with a big boot on the rebound. Staying on the attack, he threw the Jet City Woman into the corner and went for a running splash but Leia raised both legs, put her feet on his chest and stomped him into the mat. From that moment on Leia took control, using the most dangerous weapon in her arsenal to wear down the young opponent. Clyde was unable to dodge those quick kicks, and even when he managed to block one, LeBeau immediately rocked him with an enziguri. He kicked out in time, but as he was pulling himself up, Leia was right there to kick him in the chest with her Show Kicks, but once again Eldon kicked out. With Clyde now in the corner, Leia went for the Jet City Jive but CEJ exploded out of the corner and tackled her down with his patented spear. Could this be it? Was he going to score a second huge upset in a row? LeBeau threw her shoulder up and kicked out in time, and Clyde couldn’t quite believe it. On his knees, he asked the ref if he was sure, almost begging him to change his mind but, as confirmed by the replay, Leia did kick out in time. That was when Biffy Clyro’s “Balance, Not Symmetry” blasted out of the loudspeakers, followed by a chorus of boos as the fans immediately identified it as Olly’s entrance song. Clyde turned to the entrance stage to see her mother’s tag partner walking down the ramp with a steel chair in hand. Behind his back, Leia got up to her feet and slammed the distracted opponent’s face on the math with the Seattle Slutdrop. With Clyde down, the Show quickly applied her patented figure four necklock right in the middle of the ring, leaving Eldon no choice but to tap out. WINNER: Leia LeBeau BY: Submission (Sin City Sleepover), 11:03 |
Backstage we find Summer Collins and her good friend and tag team partner Jessica Lasiewicz. The duo known as Fabulous are back together but tonight it is Summer in singles action. Collins is wearing her wrestling gear while The Archangel is dressed in denim jeans, boots, a black top, and a black hooded leather jacket.
Summer Collins
You know, Jess, I am glad we are back together again. And while I am bummed that we didn’t win the tag team titles, at least Neil did become tag team champion again. He is beyond thrilled to hold gold again. But…
Summer’s voice trails off. It is clear that something is amiss, something is bothering Summer Collins. Jessica frowns.
Jessica Lasiewicz
“...but you don’t like fighting Faith Savell tonight one on one?”
Summer Collins
Huh? Oh no, that’s fine. But what about her…
She points behind Jessica. The camera zooms out and we find that Kimberly Williams is standing there behind Jessica. The Woman Scorned and Queen of the Death Match is sporting a Duke Blue Devils Coach K mask.
Summer Collins
What the hell is she doing here?
Jessica Lasiewicz
She IS my sister, babe. And she needs something to do so I figured I’d let her tag along. Help me watch your back. God knows you need it.
”Coach K”
Win it, Summer! Go! Go! Go! You can do it! Win it all! Just like I’m gonna win me a national title on Riot!
Jessica Lasiewicz
Uh, I think you mean MENTV Title, Kim.
Collins rolls her eyes.
Summer Collins
Thanks…Coach.
Tag Team Match
Tank Steiner & Dustin Douglas VS Bree Smith & Dean Smith
Following their win in the trios match, and the resounding success their team had with the fans, Tank Steiner and Dusty Douglas decided to join forces in what could be, at least on paper, one of the most dominant teams in MWE. The Murder Train was the first one in, opposite of Dean and wasted no time going after him with a big lariat. Smith got quickly up to his feet and parried Douglas’ next strike, kicking the former Lockdown champion in the gut and hammered him down to one knee with a forearm to the back. Dean hit the ropes, bounced off, and went for a running knee to the face but Dustin moved out of the way at the last moment and caused him to miss it. He then picked Dean up over his shoulders in an electric chair position and walked toward his corner to tag Tank in but Smith was able to stop him with a flurry of punches to the head. He slipped away and landed behind his back, shoving him into his teammate in the corner. After butting heads, the two partners looked dazed, especially Douglas who stumbled back into an Olympic slam from Smith. The former Invictus champion hooked the leg to make the cover but Dustin kicked out. Tag to Bree, the blonde girl entered the ring and ripped him across the chest with a few knife edge chops before sending him to the ropes. The Murder Train ducked her clothesline attempt and hit the ropes once again, coming back with a running big boot that flattened her. Douglas made the tag to Herr Steiner who immediately scooped up the opponent for a powerslam. Bree got away from his grasp and quickly delivered a knee to the stomach that doubled the Austrian over. She then attempted to lift him with a suplex but that seemed to be an impossible feat even for her. She was the one who got lifted by Tank, but once again Bree managed to block it, switching her weight and landing once again in front of Tank, ready to try lifting him once again. This time, she surprisingly managed to pick up the super heavyweight with an impressive display of power that earned her a loud round of applause, and a two count. The Smiths showed perfect chemistry with quick tags and perfectly timed team maneuvers. On the other hand, Tank and Dusty surely needed some work on that aspect, understandably so as if this was the second time they teamed up. Some tension between them seemed to emerge after Tank took the tag when Douglas stumbled back in their corner after a jumping knee from Dean. The Murder Train didn’t appreciate it, believing he couls still turn things around on his own, and got on his partner’s face. As the duo was smoothing it over, Dean took them both out with a double clothesline, climbing to the top rope for his Mean Dean diving knee. Dusty grabbed his leg, blocking the attempt. Dean tried to kick him away and by the time he did it, Tank was ready to pick Smith up and hold him over his head in a gorilla press position, letting him fall chest first on the mat. It wouldn’t have been a Tank match without his skin-tearing chops and the Boston fans had the chance to witness them at the expense of Dean. With his chest on fire, Smith stumbled toward his corner looking for a tag but he was caught with an Austrian suplex instead. He made the cover, but Bree was there to save her brother. Eventually Dean was able to get the opening needed to make the tag with one of his boxing combinations, leaving the stage to Bree. She entered the ring and took the big man down with a powerful clothesline and kept hitting him with hard strikes as he pulled himself up. Tank fought back, rocking her with a forearm strike to the jaw and making the tag to the Big Nasty. Unafraid, Bree fought punch for punch against the Murder Train, but eventually lost the battle when Dustin surprised her with a knee to the stomach and launched her into the corner with his King Kai Bomb. He smiled at the reaction of the fans before giving them what they wanted to see. He made the tag to Steiner and signaled him to go to the top rope while he dragged Bree toward the centre of the ring. The Super Heavyweight soared the air and landed across the blonde with a picture perfect moonsault. Douglas made sure Dean couldn’t save Bree this time, leveling him with a lariat. WINNER: Tank Steiner & Dusty Douglas BY: Pinfall (Der große Kaboom), 13:21 |
We cut backstage to the ready area where we find Dawn Paisley in the middle of an absolutely Fabulous sandwich. To her left is “The Archangel” Jessica Lasiewicz. To her right is Summer Collins. And standing behind the three of them is Kimberly Williams, still donning the Coach K mask.
Dawn Paisley
Well ladies and gentlemen I am here with…
Kimberly Williams
A great team! A really great squad of girls ready to give it their all and win! Just like how I’m gonna win the ACC Title on Riot!
Dawn Paisley
Don’t you mean, MENTV Title?
Kimberly Williams
Same thing, really!
Summer sighs and rolls her eyes. Jessica takes her half-sister by the arm and drags her off, leaving Summer alone with the journalist. Dawn chuckles lightly.
Dawn Paisley
Summer, you and Jessica came up a little short in your bid to regain the MWE World Tag Team Championship at On The Rise. But your husband did leave with the titles along with his partner Sophie O’Brian. Do you have any comments on that night?
Summer Collins
Neil and I support one another’s professional careers and I, for one, am happy for Neil. I am also happy for the tag team division that it is well represented with a good team as champions. But Fabulous is still back and make no mistake about it we are still gunning for those belts, regardless of whether or not Neil has it.
Dawn Paisley
Tonight you are back in action but as a singles competitor against Faith Savell. What are your thoughts?
Collins chuckles.
Summer Collins
The Cloud Gate Champion herself. Am I supposed to be impressed? Well I’m not. If I wanted to I could take that championship away from her anytime I wanted. She’s just lucky that her precious title isn’t on the line, she’s lucky that I am focused on being an absolutely Fabulous tag team competitor right now.
Collins produces a wad of cash.
Summer Collins
But as I have said before, Jess and I CAN do it all. And you know what they say about money and happiness? They’re wrong. Money CAN buy happiness. And I have a ton of money. I have enough money to pay a certain businessman with a briefcase to give me what I want out of this match.
Dawn Paisley
Are you suggesting…
Summer Collins
I’m not suggesting anything, Dawn. But if I wanted to, I could. Anything I want to do, I will do it; simply because I can. Simply because I am Summer Collins. I’m just saying I have the talent, the resources, the intelligence to do anything I want to whoever I want, even if you are the Cloud Gate Champion. And tonight will be absolutely Fabulous, I guarantee it.
Summer turns and walks off.
Singles Match
Faith Savell VS Summer CollinsAs the bell went silent, the two slowly approached each other in the center of the ring. Faith lunged forward and wrapped her arms around Summer’s head, pulling her in closely with a headlock. Collins quickly planted her hands in her back and pushed her forward towards the ropes. Savell hit them and connected with a dropkick to the chest, knocking her backwards into the ropes. As Collins hit them and bounced back, Faith pushed herself up to her feet and caught the former Tag champion with an arm drag, taking her to the mat right into a shoulder lock. Summer stood up and spun around, relieving the pressure and turning this into a hammerlock of her own. Savell connected with her elbow to the jaw to break free and darted toward the ropes but Summer grabbed her arm and pulled her back into a snap German suplex. Back to their feet, the two women squared off once again. Faith faked to lunge forward and Summer instinctively raised her arms to protect her face, thus leaving her midsection exposed to the Cloud Gate’s champion kick. Faith then wrapped her arm around Summer’s head and fell backwards, driving it into the canvas with a DDT. Savell quickly hooked the leg, obtaining a count of two. With her sight set on Tiff’s record, the last thing Faith wanted was to add more challengers to the list of obstacles she’ll have to overcome between now and October 16 2022, when she would officially surpass the longest reign in MWE history. With a win tonight Summer could claim that spot as her challenger and Faith was doing her best to prevent that, even if that meant taking the low road and maliciously pulling Summer’s hair to escape the choke hold she was put in. This earned her a warning but while the ref was reprimanding her, she reached over his shoulder to poke Summer in the eye and quickly rolled her up with a cradle, from which the Fabulous member kicked out in two and half. If Faith wasn’t going to play by the rules neither was Collins who tried to use the ropes to her advantage while pinning the champ after the Money Clip, but the official spotted it and immediately stopped the count. The match continued for a couple more minutes where the two women traded holds in a long sequence that surely pleased the fans of the most technical side of wrestling. They jockeyed for position until Summer was able to move behind the less experienced opponent and lock her in her Million Dollar Dream. Gasping for air, Faith tried to reach for the nearby ropes to break the submission before her strength abandoned her. She got there, managing to grab the top rope with her hand but Collins didn’t let go until the referee’s count reached five. Only then she released the grasp, freeing Faith who collapsed to the floor. That obviously earned her a stern look and a few words from the official, and Savell took the chance to escape on the apron to catch her breath. Summer went to drag her back in the ring but she ended up neck first on the top rope. The impact stunned her and Faith was quick to enter the ring and connect the northern lights suplex that gave her so many wins in her career. Tonight, she added another name to that growing list. WINNER: Faith Savell BY: Pinfall (Northern Lights Suplex), 11:55 |
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page is on her cell phone as she walks backstage of the TD Garden.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
Believe me, girl, I would rather not be in this God awful town of Boston but there are a couple things I need to handle.
Tiffany pauses.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
I do have an excellent team that money can buy but it is always good to have someone I can trust in MWE.
Tiffany pauses.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
I’m just saying. You know we work well together and now it is time for you to shine. Think about it.
Tiffany hangs up. She notices the camera circling around her and gives a dirty look to the camera man.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
Seriously?
Tiffany walks away.
Pre-recorded…
It is bright outside in front of an ancient medieval style church. The impressive center for worship towers high into the air, and its beauty and serenity serves as almost like a contrast to what is about to come. A few moments later and we spot “The Assassin” Clyde Sutter entering into the scene from stage right. Sutter is wearing black dress pants, black dress shoes, a black shirt, and a black trenchcoat. He is sporting sunglasses over his eyes. The Assassin stops at the center as he turns to face the camera.
Clyde Sutter
I have said it many times the past several weeks…everyone has their appointed time. You cannot escape fate completely but you can delay it. So to Mr. Edwards, I applaud you on this day for successfully delaying your fate. But make no mistake about it, sometime…it may not be today, it may not be on Millennium, or even this coming Riot, but sometime when you least expect it, your appointed time will come up. Your clock will expire. And that is when I will come yet again knocking at your door. But for now the fierce battle you waged at On The Rise has earned you a little extra time on the clock. Use it wisely, Mr. Edwards.
The Assassin looks up at the church and then turns back to face the camera.
Clyde Sutter
It is human nature to turn to places such as this when our biological clock starts to run out. As James Matthew Barrie once said, death is a great adventure. The thing is, few people share that point of view. Most of humanity finds the concept of death to be fearful and frightening. They are frightened of the unknown, because they do not know what will happen to them when they draw their final breath. Thus they turn to places like this, they look towards some sort of divine being to tell them what it will be like after they pass. It helps them. It makes them feel better.
He chuckles.
Clyde Sutter
And in some cases, humanity would turn to sacrifices in order to save them from death. Jesus Christ Himself was a sacrifice, one sacrifice once and for all for all of humanity to save us from sin and death. That’s how it goes, right? Unfortunately that does not translate well into the world of professional wrestling. One man or woman cannot and will not sacrifice themselves for the sake of MWE. One sacrifice is not good enough to satisfy this angry God!
Sutter snarls angrily.
Clyde Sutter
So line up the sacrifices…Morreti, Elsa, Grace…line them all up. It doesn’t matter what order. All of them have their appointed time. All of them will eventually be sacrificed to me in due time. And don’t think even for one single solitary second that handing me the MENTV Championship on Riot will appease me, because it won’t. Oh I will shatter Crystal’s dreams and then go on to obliterate anyone else who gets in my path. I will become the MENTV Champion. But that won’t stop my path of destruction. That won’t stop me from sacrificing the rest of the roster. It won’t stop your clocks from running out. Tick tock…
The Assassin turns and walks off.
First Blood Match
Andrew Raynes VS Jordan Parker-KaneIn his first match as the brand new Chicago Way champion Andrew Raynes took on Jordan Parker-Kane who recently discovered his flair for violence, earning the Valiant Chaos championship. Both of them looked thrilled by the challenge, both of them swore they wouldn’t stop at the sound of the bell after one of them would start bleeding. The match finally started, Parker-Kane wasted no time and charged towards Raynes only to be taken down with a vicious clothesline. Andrew picked Jordan up and delivered a German suplex. The Chaos champion got back to his feet and Raynes rebounded off the ropes and came at Jordan with the Code Of The Sith. JPK dodged the running high knee and punched Andrew in the kidneys, causing him to arch his back in pain. Grabbing the Chicago Way champion by the hair threw him over the top rope. Andrew rolled on the floor outside, slowly picking himself up. As he did, he saw Jordan waiting on the apron ready to jump and drive his elbow on the top of Raynes’ skull. With no count outs in place, the two of them gladly kept the fight on the outside where they could use the surroundings to try to achieve their goal of making the opponent bleed. Raynes’ experience in this hardcore settings came into play and Jordan was introduced to the steel steps with a drop toe hold. Jordan was quick to protect his face with his arm, and that probably saved him from getting cut early. Raynes tossed him into the barricade, picked him up in a powerbomb position and launched him against the apron. Jordan was in a world of pain, but he still managed to duck the chair shot to the face. Missing the target, the chair hit the rope instead and bounced back into Andrew’s face, knocking the Embracer Of Hate down. This was the opportunity Jordan was waiting for to turn things around. Picking up the chair, he started to relentlessly swing it down on the champion’s chest and back, forcing Andrew to retreat under the ring. Jordan opened his arms wide and mocked him, screaming at the fans “Is this your champion?”. But Raynes didn’t hide out of cowardice, he did it to get away from the chair shots and at the same time set up his counterattack, driving a kendo stick up right between Jordan’s legs. After throwing Jordan back in the ring, Andrew started tossing all kinds of objects over the top rope. Chairs, at least half a dozen of them stacked in a pile in the middle of the ring. A table, set up in the corner and the kendo stick Andrew used earlier. But the most dangerous one, a barbed wire wrapped but was in Raynes’ hand, and the Chicago Way champion was ready to hit Jordan with it and end the match. Parker obviously had different plans and kicked the opponent’s arm causing him to drop the bat. JPK went to grab it but Raynes quickly kicked it away to prevent Jordan from grabbing a hold of it. He couldn’t prevent Jordan from super kicking him, the impact sent him stumbling back toward the center of the ring. The Prodigy followed with a shotgun dropkick that sent Andrew crashing through the table. Wasting no time, Jordan pulled him out of the wreckage and tucked Andrew’s head between his legs, walking back to the pile of chairs on top of which he dropped the Chicago Way champion with a piledriver. The referee went to check if the high impact move cut Raynes’ skull but there was still no trace of blood. Jordan left the ring and headed straight for the barbed wire bat, picking it up from the floor… BAM! He barely saw the boot connecting to his head and turning off the light, he surely didn’t see who hit him. The fans instead had a good look at the perpetrator. After all, Valentine was hard to miss. The Ravager looked down at Jordan Parker-Kane, laying on the floor unmoving. He then walked away, as if nothing happened. Andrew Raynes was probably wondering, like everyone else, what the hell just happened but he wasn’t one to look a horse gift in the mouth. Grabbing the bat wrapped in barbed wire, he grinded it on Jordan’s forehead, drawing blood and winning the match. WINNER: Andrew Raynes BY: First Blood, 10:32 |
Finally back at home in a Millennium Wrestling arena, Melissa Reeves comes out to her new theme song of “Timebomb” by Motionless In White. As she walks down the ramp she stops, touching hands with a few fans, before giving a little boy in his father’s arms the cap from her head.
Moving up the ring steps, she climbs into the ring and poses on all four corners for a few moments. Finally she lets the music die down, listening to the crowd, before raising the microphone she is handed by a ringside worker.
Melissa Reeves:
Well hello, Bosssston..
Cue more cheers.
Melissa Reeves:
Hello Millennium Wrestling fans. Hello Millennium Wrestling itself. Hello the world.
She slowly paces around the ring.
Melissa Reeves:
You guys remembered me, huh?
The crowd responds with yes.
Melissa Reeves:
I remembered you too. But guys, just as importantly, I’ve remembered myself along the way. Somewhere along the line, I got tired. I was doing the same things, and it wasn’t for enjoyment anymore. My career stagnated, I was circling.
She shrugs.
Melissa Reeves:
So I went away. I recharged. Life has been good, but there was that hunger. It grew, you guys, it grew and it grew and now it’s back to what it used to be. I’m hungry for success, I’m hungry for glory and I’m hungry to entertain every single one of you again.
The fans seem to like that, cheering her.
Melissa Reeves:
And now that and back? You all know my goal, you all know why I'm here, I feel no need to spell it out. First step is tonight, a return win. That brings me to you Siobhan...all I'm going to say is good luck. Seriously, just good luck.
With a beaming smile, she drops the microphone and her music plays again.
Singles Match
Melissa Reeves VS Siobhan MahoneyMelissa Reeves made her comeback at On The Rise, saving Lowri Moss from Black’s post match attack. In her first official match back after the injury, the former World champion faced Siobhan Mahoney, coming off strong after her win at the last PPV against Envy and Callaway. Determined to keep the momentum going and adding another illustrious victim to her list, Siobhan darted toward Mel before the bell even rang, taking her down with a lariat. The early aggression continued with a flurry of stomps to the Australian, who eventually grabbed the foot and pushed Siobhan’s leg backward, causing the Human Disaster to plant her face on the mat. Mel looked down at her, seemingly disappointed for the cheap shot though definitely not surprised. She circled around Siobhan as she picked herself up, delivering a shoot kick to the back and one to the chest. Then she picked her up and went for an irish whip but Mahoney countered that and sent Reeves into the ropes. The former World champion bounced back into a dropkick to the face, but quickly kicked out in one from the following pinfall attempt. The Northern Irish built some good momentum with a striking combination, dropping Mel down with the Morrigan’s curse (swinging neckbreaker) but it was going to take much more than that to keep the Reaver down. She tried with a belly to back suplex but Mel landed on her feet and quickly smacked her face with a superkick. Cover by the veteran but, much to the disappointment of the fans, Siobhan kicked out in time. Mahoney, in all honesty, didn’t do much to win the fans over, using some cheap shots to counter Melissa’s offense. An eye rake left the Australian momentarily blinded and gave Siobhan the chance to connect the Eire Raid (running bicycle knee strike). Trying to control the pace, she kept Mel down with some mat wrestling, though that was one of the departments Mel excelled in. The two jockeyed for position, trying to get the best of the other in this prolonged sequence. Mel eventually came out on top, putting the opponent in a waistlock as she slowly stood up. Back on a vertical basis, she tried to lift Siobhan but she swung her elbow back and hit Mel right in the mush. She stumbled back, wiping some blood from her lips. This left her open to a kick to the stomach and a quick ddt from Mahoney, but once again the former champion kicked out. Siobhan started showing signs of frustration, picking her up by the hair and delivering a hard knee to the face. A couple more of those followed, leaving the Reaver stunned. But when Siobhan went for the Shillelagh, the Australian ducked under the big move and took the opponent down with a sweep kick. The former MENTV champion quickly stood up only to get tossed back to the mat with a belly to belly suplex. Mel taunted her to get up and when she did, she hit her with the Reaver Slam, obtaining another long two count. The end was nigh, the fans could feel it, Melissa knew it and perhaps Siobhan did too. She got up in a daze, staggering right into a massive spin kick called Magnitude Nine, enough to knock Mahoney down and keep her out for the one, two, three. Back from the commercial. we found the Millennium General Manager standing in the middle of the ring with a microphone in her hand.
Elsa McCarthy:
How are you doing Boston? Did you enjoy the show so far?
Her question obviously was answered by the loud cheers of the ans.
Elsa McCarthy:
I take that as ayes.
She replied with a smile.
Elsa McCarthy:
And I'm sure you're excited to see yours truly, a true Bostonian like Neail Newman in action in our main event, in a matter of minutes.
Another pop for the hometwon hero.
Elsa McCarthy:
And this main event i the reason why I'm out here right now. See, when I pictured the ladder match at On The Rise, I planned to put every team who has been screwed over by K2O in, and give them a shot at payback against the champions. Warblade 42, Glorious Golden Era and Fabulous they all had their history with K2O, but there was another team who had to deal with the former champions' shenanigans. Team Trillie.
Starting to get an idea of what Elsa was implying, the fans began to cheer louder.
Elsa McCarthy:
Unfortunately Millie was injured at the time, still dealing with the aftermath of that unlucky accident with the rope on Riot. I know their issue was with Olly and Karen, but I have a feeling they won't mind if their owed title shot is aginst the Glorious Golden Era instead, right here tonight in Boston!
Well, it was official now. The match between the GGE and Team Trillie will be for the MWE Tag Team Titles.
Elsa McCarthy:
Best of luck to both teams.
Elsa left the ring as the camera cut to the announcers table. Aspen took the ring and announced the teams, starting with the challengers.
MWE Tag Team Championship Match
Glorious Golden Era © VS Team Trillie
Peyton Holland: “In an unexpected turn of events, we have ourselves a title match as tonight’s main event.” Ambra Monroe: “A huge opportunity for Team Trillie, an insidious match for the Glorious Golden Era. Elsa really spiced things up tonight.” Peyton Holland: “Yeah, and look at the champions. I’m not saying they look worried, but you can see their expression has changed from before. Last thing they want is to lose the titles one ten days after winning them, after they chased them for months.” Ambra Monroe: “Nobody wants to be remembered for the shortest reign in history. Neil and Sophie must be very careful tonight, Trinity and Millie can be really dangerous.” And they proved it from the first minute, when Millie surprised Neil with her speed, taking him down with a step up hurricanrana. Quick tag to Thompson and a double kick to the chest and back knocked Newman down for a count of two. Thompson didn’t slow down, hitting Neil with quick kicks to the legs, using both her right and left foot with equal effectiveness. Kick after kick, she chopped down the two time tag champ, forcing him to one knee. Running the ropes, Trin slammed his face on the mat with a bulldog to obtain another count of two. Ambra Monroe: “This is exactly what I’m talking about. They’re so quick they can be a challenge to everyone.” The Glorious Golden Era had the experience on their side. That, combined with Neil’s strength, allowed him to catch the flying Trinity off a crossbody attempt and drop her back first on his extended knee. He didn’t drop her down though, carrying her into his corner and hanging her upside down in the infamous tree of woe position. Tag to Sophie who entered the ring and started kicking Trinity in the chest, knocking her down from the uncomfortable spot. She dragged her back to the centre of the ring and lunged in with a few more stomps, followed by a knee drop. Reaching down. O’Brian picked the young opponent up and put her in an abdominal stretch in the middle of the ring. Trinity tried to break free but Sophie started to hammer at her midsection with forearm strikes, frustrating her attempts. The Northern Irish then pulled out a gutwrench suplex from her vast arsenal, pinning Trinity right away. Millie entered the ring and broke up the pin, saving her partner. Peyton Holland: “Sophie played a major part in the GGE winning the belts. First when she didn’t buy into K2O’s shenanigans, then when almost burned Karen with the Scorched Earth Policy as she was about to retrieve the titles.” Ambra Monroe: “She’s one of the most underrated superstars in this roster. I’m telling you, now that she tasted gold after all these years, she’s destined to be a major player in this company.” Peyton Holland: “True, but she still must be very careful around Trinity… Look at that!” The redhead planted Sophie on her head with an impressive satellite ddt, creating the opening to make the tag to Millie. Smith jumped inside the ring and charged directly at Neil, knocking him off the apron with a dropkick, preventing Sophie from making the tag. She then knocked the tag champion down with a knee strike and climbed to the top rope to dive on top of her with a beautiful moonsault. Ambra Monroe: “Sophie is out! Can she really make it here?” Peyton Holland: “There’s one, there’s two and there’s thr… NO!” Neil came back just in time to grab Millie’s foot and drag her out of the ring. He didn’t do anything more than that, possibly because Trinity immediately knocked him down with a running forearm to the jaw. Mille slimbed on the apron and entered through the ropes but Sophie was there to catch her with a rope hung ddt. O’Brian made the cover but Millie raised her shoulder in time. The champions tried to isolate the young Smith, using quick tags to keep her in their half of the ring. But she somehow managed to make the slip away and make the tag to Trinity. The pace quickened once again when Tiff’s half sister entered the ring, now favoring a more strikes-based approach similar to the one of the former Cloud Gate champion. She seemed to kick just as hard, and even a veteran like Sophie was in difficulty against this. Trin attempted her Nap Kick, her version of the Death Kick but O’Brian dodged it and rolled her up with a school boy pin, almost stealing the win. Back to their feet, the two went for a simultaneous jumping knee, knocking each other down. Ambra Monroe: “Regardless of the final outcome, Trinity and Millie deserve all the praises for their performance tonight.” Peyton Holland: “Absolutely, they definitely earned the respect of these fans and, probably, of the champions as well.” Millie and Neil were back in the ring. Smith quickly obtained a near fall with a sunset flip but Newman kicked out and, quickly getting to his feet, turned the young girl inside out with a stiff lariat. He tried to put her away with some big moves, a beautiful bridging suplex and a full Nelson slam but Smith kicked out on both occasions. Showing some frustration, Neil picked her up and drove her head on the top turnbuckle. BOOM! Peyton Holland: “WHAT THE FUCK?” Ambra Monroe: “Looks like the pyro in the corner that didn’t go off when the champions made their entrance got off now!” Peyton Holland: “Is Millie ok?” Ambra Monroe: “She looks dazed, but luckily she’s not hurt… It’s a miracle…” Neil was shocked as anyone else, almost frozen on the spot. But as soon as the referee got the confirmation from Millie that she was indeed ok, he wasted no time and lifted her in a suplex position, dropping her onto his knees for the End Game Classic. Trinity tried to save her partner but she was tackled to the mat by Sophie. The Glorious Golden Era retained the gold in their first match as champions.
