Riot in New Hampshire
Live from SNHU Arena in Manchester, NH
Sunday, October 31st, 2021
The camera takes us backstage at the SNHU Arena in Manchester where we find Millie Smith wearing a red cowgirl hat, cowgirl leggings with denim shorts and a sleeveless (to look like they’d been torn off) button up, an almost perfect replica of Jessie from Toy Story walking in a dark hallway. Only two lights seem to work, one on each end of the corridor, all those in between are, for some reason, shut off.
Millie Smith:
T.. Trin?
She sounds hesitant, perhaps even a bit fearful. After all, tonight’s Halloween and she’s walking alone in an oddly dark hallway, looking for her tag team partner who’s strangely late... And then there’s the wind hissing through that open window to add to the spooky atmosphere.
Millie Smith:
Are you here?
She calls again, but receives no answer. Millie suddenly turns around after hearing a noise behind her, but nothing is there. It must have been her imagination. A few more steps taken by the youngest Smith and then suddenly she freezes on her spot. This time it was real, it was very real and the camera caught it as well. A faint rattling, coming from behind Millie’s back. With a look of terror on her face, Smith turns around…
Millie screams and jumps back as she finds herself face to face with Spider Man’s villain Venom. Or rather, her tag partner dressed up as the Marvel’s character, her costume is a perfect representation of the symbiote, including an ultra realistic mask complete with the characteristic tongue, to which Millie then mutters a strained
Millie Smith:
Eep!
Millie’s reaction is exactly what Trinity hoped for, a proof that her costume was realistic and believable. A soft chuckle can be heard under the mask, and soon “Venom” removes it to reveal Trinity Thompson hiding under it.
Trinity Thompson:
Oh God, Millie… You should see your face!
She can’t help but laugh, while the startled Millie regains her bearings. Millie’s got her hand over heart, feeling it race after that scare along with the relief she wasn’t going to be maimed by Venom.
Millie Smith:
Trin! Not funny…
Millie fake scowls at her teamie tonight, not yet confident to give her a tap for her joke. As her panic begins to fade, she’s able to give Trin’s costume a full look over.
Millie Smith:
That’s a really….real...and spooky costume.
Trinity Thompson:
Thank you. It wasn’t easy to make, had to look for the right material that would give it the right look and that was comfortable to fight in.
Trinity replies with a soft smile, taking a step toward her partner to give a closer look at her costume.
Trinity Thompson:
And I’m sorry if I scared you but when I saw that the lights here weren’t working… I just had to, sorry!
She offers her partner a quick hug to show that she really meant those words.
Trinity Thompson:
Ready for the match? It’s my first one in a month and I’m pretty excited!
Hearing that makes Millie one happy cowgirl.
Millie Smith:
I am and I am too. I think we’ll make people want to see Team Trillie more with your costume.
Millie casually suggests getting a quick selfie together albeit through body language rather than ask directly and get rejected.
Trinity Thompson:
Haha I don’t know.. But I can tell you that after they see us beating Warblade 42, they will definitely ask for more Trillie!
Seeing her partner’s posture and the phone in her hand, Trinity puts her mask back on and poses for the selfie. As soon as Millie taps the screen of her phone to take the selfie, a black cat jumps down from the open window and crosses their path. Trinity suddenly walks in a circle and goes backwards across the spot where they crossed paths with the cat and starts to count, stopping at thirteen. All the while Millie is a little perplexed but doesn’t want to say anything.
Millie Smith:
Umm….so…
Millie says trying to be polite and not bring attention to Trinity’s curse reverse until....
Trinity Thompson:
Yeah, that was kinda silly, right?
Trin says with a chuckle while Millie shrugs politely, just with her shoulders.
Trinity Thompson:
I know there’s no such thing as bad luck, and if there is, black cats are not to blame for it… But my grandma was very superstitious and she always had to do this… Thing every time we saw a black cat. I guess it’s one of those things that just stick with you, you know?
Millie Smith:
Ooh. Ok. I wasn’t really sure if it was something from the new movie - I haven’t had a chance to see it yet.
Millie rolls her eyes off to the left and down feeling a little bad but she wasn’t as free as she used to be pre-academy and millennium.
Millie Smith:
Do you also carry salt to throw over your shoulder? I heard that’s one of the superstitions.
Trinity starts to laugh and shakes her head.
Trinity Thompson:
Oh no, I don’t even believe in that kind of stuff… This was just… I don’t know, I guess it was an involuntary reflex. I’ve been doing it all my life but it was just because grandma believed it was the only way to reverse the curse and I was either too young to disagree or didn’t want to argue.
Millie Smith:
That’s sweet that you do it because of your grandma. I think we’ll show that curses are just (BLEEP) when we win tonight. Deal?
Trinity nods and smiles at her partner.
Trinity Thompson:
Sounds like a plan! Our opponents, Valkyrie and Niko are good, but let’s be honest…
With a slow and dramatic motion Trinity puts the mask back on her face and lets out a long hiss.
Trinity Thompson:
Against Venom and Jessie? They don’t stand a chance.
Millie Smith:
Let there be carnage!
Millie shouts quietly, but it’s definitely a shout from her as she takes Venom’s hand and the pair walk past the camera, as the cam catches the black cat again before fading to black.
Singles Match
Echo VS Kate SteeleYou could see the look of concern on Kate’s face how people feel about going up against Echo. Her ruthless attacks had spread fear amongst the roster for a while now. Tiana and Trinity, who were coming back tonight after weeks on the sidelines after getting in the ring against the Junior Heavyweight Champion were the last victims on her destruction’s path. So you can imagine why Steele didn’t seem too comfortable with being in the ring with her. It didn’t help that Echo cheapshot her before the bell even sounded, reaching her with a swift right hand. Another flurry of punches hit Kate once the match officially started, pushing Steele all the way back into the corner. The punches turned into knee strikes to the mid section, then stomps to the chest when Kate dropped into a seated position. The referee counted up to five and when Echo still kept stomping her, he physically put himself between the two, pushing the Aussie back and having a long talk with her. This gave Kate time to recover and when the Junior Heavyweight Champion went to grab her, she kicked Echo in the stomach and slammed her head against the top turnbuckle. She did that again for good measure before attempting an irish whip set to send the Aussie in the opposite corner. Echo reversed it and it was Kate who ended up with her back against the turnbuckle, watching the opponent charging with a full head of steam. She instinctively raised her boot and stunned the running Echo. Kate climbed to the top rope and jumped hitting the champ with both knees with a meteora. Kate stayed on the attack, her speed created some problems for the Junior Heavyweight champion. Steele obtained a near fall with a tornado ddt, immediately going for another pinfall after a standing moonsault, but once again Echo kicked out. The champion eventually seized control by kicking the ropes while Kate tried to find her balance for another aerial attack, causing her to fall ruinously. Luckily for Kate, she fell inside the ring and not outside, making her landing slightly less rough. But Echo was immediately all over her with more vicious stomps and a deadlift suplex, another display of her impressive strength. She kept hitting Kate hard with elbows and knees, kicks and punches alike. A literal onslaught that didn’t leave the former Lockdown champion much room to fight back. Kate stood back up after another count of two, barely standing at this point. A wicked spear from the ruthless Australian broke her in half but Kate still managed to get the shoulder up in time. The fight continued with Echo, at this point, just toying with the opponent, delaying the inevitable just like she delayed the suplex, holding Steele upside down for a few long seconds. But all things must come to an end and as much as she was enjoying annihilating another competitor, Echo decided to pull the plug and end things with The Reverb. WINNER: Echo BY: Pinfall (The Reverb), 7:11 |
The opening match of the night is over, another dominant win from the Junior Heavyweight Champion Echo. But, as often happens, just because the bell rings doesn’t mean Echo stops dishing out punishment. Seeing what was about to happen, the referee tries to stop her but he gets pushed aside. Echo looks down at the grounded opponent who still hasn’t recovered from the Reverb and ruthlessly stomps her leg, before putting the unfortunate Kate in her patented knee bar.
STOP
Came a voice that Echo immediately recognized as Yulia Kirilenko. For weeks, months even, the Aussie called out her former trainer, mentor and girlfriend, laying down broken bodies in the process. Tiana Petrova-Hammond, Trinity Thompson, Tiana a second time… And Kate was sure to join the club, until Yulia showed up.
Yulia Kirilenko:
Let her go, Juliet. She has nothing to do with this!
And so Echo did, for the briefest of moments. She released her grip and rose to her feet, though before her downed opponent could escape the ring, Echo placed her foot on the injured knee, pressing down hard, earning a pained groan. She held her hand out toward Aspen, the ringside announcer, who very reluctantly tossed the microphone at her.
Echo:
Then STOP ME! Do something about it! I’m right here, Yules!
The former Riot General Manager shook her head and started walking down the ramp, eventually reaching the ringside. Her eyes had remained glued on Echo the whole time, only moving away from a brief moment to meet those of Damian Carter sitting in the front row with his two daughters. He almost pleaded with her to stop, but she shook her head no. “I have to”, she whispered before sliding under the bottom rope.
Yulia Kirilenko:
Let. Her. Go.
As if it were a challenge, Echo put more of her weight on Kate’s knee, staring Yulia down all the while. She dropped the microphone and held her arms out wide, inviting Yulia to finally step up to the plate. You could tell it was really hard for the Russian to not just floor her former protegé like she did this summer. But somehow she managed to keep her cool and instead pulled out a piece of paper from her back pocket, holding it in front of Echo’s face.
Yulia Kirilenko:
I paid a visit to Moretti tonight, we had a long conversation about Tiana and, of course, about you. This is what you always wanted, Echo. This is what you’ve been begging for months, this is the reason why people got attacked, their legs broken… You wanted me? You finally got what you wanted. Now stop this madness.
Echo grinned widely, finally taking her foot off the gas so to speak. She kicked Kate’s leg away and stared at Yulia, eyeing the contract with glee.
Echo:
So all I’ve done, everyone I’ve left broken and beaten behind me, from your precious Damian, to poor Kate here, you FINALLY decided it was enough? I have to say, I figured you’d continue to be a coward, standing back to watch as I continued going through everyone and everything this place wanted to throw at me. What a surprise.
Yulia Kirilenko:
It wasn’t cowardice…
The Russian replied, staring daggers at the woman in front of her. Every ounce of sympathy she showed in their past meetings, every feeling she might still have for the Australian, remnant of their past, was now gone.
Yulia Kirilenko:
It was hope. Hope that deep down, there was still a trace of that honorable woman I trained. That she could let her voice be heard and made this person you’ve become today realize how wrong what you’re doing is. Trinity, Tiana… They’re young girls with a dream, just like you were. A dream you tried to crush.
Pause.
Yulia Kirilenko:
And for what? Revenge?
Echo:
Fun. Glory. Vengeance. It doesn’t matter what label you want to attach to all this, Yules, all that matters is despite everyone telling you no, you finally decided to step up to the plate and swing for the fences. But to borrow a quote, if you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention. If you think for one fraction of a second, that you are going to stop me, you’re wrong. If you think that I’ll stop short of breaking every bone in your body and leave you crumpled up on this mat, you’re wrong. If you think I won’t look Damian and his two adorable little girls in their eyes as I tear you apart, limb from bloody limb, you’re wrong.
She stopped and glanced over at Damian now, who was holding his daughters tightly to him as he glared at the Aussie.
Echo:
If you think that the trail of bodies ends with you, you’re wrong.
Yulia Kirilenko:
I know it won’t end with me… It’ll end with YOU.
She sounded dead serious and sure of herself, that last word spat out through gritting teeth.
Yulia Kirilenko:
This, all of this happened because of me. I was naive to think that you would have come to sense and stop on your own. You’ve always been so damn stubborn Juliet, always stomping your feet and cry until you got it your way, like a damn toddler. I should’ve known it and I should’ve done something sooner. But I guess it’s better late than ever, right?
Two weeks, Echo. Two weeks before you and I will step inside the cage and end this, once and for all.
Echo nodded along, her grin never leaving her face.
Echo:
You’re so right, Yulia. You should have done something sooner, instead of hiding behind so many. But yeh, better late than never.
Then her grin faded, and as quick as lightning she lifted her leg, throwing a demolishing big boot in Yulia’s direction, flooring the Russian trainer. Wasting no further time, Echo quickly retrieved the contract and pen from Yulia, signing it on Yulia’s downed body. Knowing that she wouldn’t be down long, Echo quickly ducked out of the ring, retrieving her title before hopping the rail into the crowd, holding the championship belt above her head as Yulia watched her disappear.
Tag Team Match
Team Trillie VS Warblade 42
Trinity’s last match was back in September, a losing effort against Echo that resulted in the younger sister of Tiff Rollins’ injury. Her partner kept herself busy with some singles matches, putting in some great performances but not getting the results she hoped and, perhaps, deserved. But tonight Team Trillie was back, flaunting their Halloween costumes that surely got them over with the fans. Warblade 42 entered next, dressed in their usual ring gear. Niko and Valkyrie have strung together some big wins in recent times, determined to win themselves a championship opportunity. But Trinity and Millie weren’t going to make it easy for them, looking impressive since the opening moments. Despite the forced separation, they didn’t miss a beat fighting with perfect chemistry at a frantic pace Vee couldn’t keep up with. The tags came quickly and frequently, Team Trillie was doing a great job isolating the powerhouse of the opposing team and wearing her down with their combined attacks. Millie went for a diving crossbody but the Great Dane Bitch caught her in mid air and power slammed her on the mat. The Scandinavian knew better than to try her luck any further and made the tag to her partner. Niko entered the ring and quickly turned the tides with her lethal striking combinations. Millie became Yua’s personal punching bag as the Japanese delivered an incredible number of kicks and punches. She even connected the Meteor Strike but Trinity made the save. After a first part dominated by Team Trillie and a second one where Warblade seized control, the rhythm of the match seemed to slow down as fatigue began to kick in. We saw less flips and more static holds, especially from Trinity who, after a month and half away from the ring, had still to find her ideal form. Thompson found herself on the receiving end of the Switchover Suplex but she somehow managed to save herself and kick out. As the match continued, she still had to deal with Valkyrie’s strength as the Viking tossed her around. Somehow Trinity managed to land on her feet after a german suplex and tag Millie in. Smith came in hot and blasted the Warmaiden of Roskilde with a springboard enziguri. Tag from Valkyrie and Niko immediately tried to slow the pace down and keep Millie grounded. But there was no way to stop the blonde, even less so now that the crowd cheered for the Cowgirl popping every time she landed one of her acrobatic moves. Yua was on the ropes, Millie made the tag and, with Trinity, called for their finishing move, the one they call “Eff You, You Lose”. Thompson lifted Niko in a piledriver position while Mille moved to the apron and prepared herself to jump in using the top rope as a springboard. But as soon as she did, the rope broke and the poor Millie fell hard on the mat. Trinity let Niko go to check on her partner and the Japanese took the chance to roll her up for the three. WINNER: Warblade 42 BY: Pinfall (school boy pin), 11:26 |
Earlier in the Week
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page is in her private gym at her home in the Hamptons drinking out of her Hydro Flask. She sets her hydroflask down while her trainer, Marisol Vilaro is standing in front of her.
Marisol Vilaro:
Great job today, Tiff.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
Thanks, Mari.
Marisol Vilaro:
Anytime, Tiff.
Marisol walks over and grabs her bag.
Marisol Vilaro:
So, are you going to Manchester for Riot on Sunday?
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
Manchester? The one in Rhode Island?
Marisol Vilaro:
Yeah, what is wrong with that?
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
Have you ever been to the armpit of America?
Marisol Vilaro:
It can’t be that bad.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
Oh but it can.
Marisol Vilaro:
Both Clyde and James will be wrestling in pick your poison matches. Also Echo will be in action. I am sure you would want to scout her just in case she is still the Jr. Heavyweight champion when you finally do get a title shot.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
Excellent points, Mari, but James is a crazed lunatic and the show will be televised so I don’t know.
Marisol Vilaro:
Isn’t Duke going to be wrestling in the main event? I am sure he would love to see you.
“Too Sexy” Tiffany Lynn Page:
What can I say I am hard to resist. We’ll see but you are right. There is the possibility for a lot of business to be handled and maybe even a little pleasure.
Marisol Vilaro:(Chuckles)
There sure is.
MENTV Championship Match
Alex Andrews © VS Tiana Petrova-HammondThree defenses in three weeks for the MENTV champion Alex Andrews, on an unstoppable path toward that fifth defense that would allow her to cash in the title for a shot at the Riot championship. The second-to-last obstacle on her road was the first ever Gold Star Tiana Petrova-Hammond on her first match since Glory Horizons in July against Echo. Tiana might have doubted if she really deserved this opportunity, and Echo’s accusations that the reason behind this opportunity was some kind of pressure made by Yulia on the GM surely didn’t help her prepare for this contest with the necessary serenity. And it was weighing on her in the opening moments with Alex taking control with a headlock takedown. The champion quickly switched to a front facelock, keeping the hold even when Tiana slowly pulled herself up and tried to break free with some punches to the ribs. Andrews broke it up only momentarily to deliver an european uppercut that sent the russian-american reeling back. She quickly put Tiana in another front facelock but this time she lifted her and dropped her on the head with a brainbuster. Petrova-Hammond kicked out and rolled out the ring, possibly looking for her trainer’s guidance. But Yulia wasn’t there, probably still being checked by the doctor after Echo's big boot. She met Damian’s eyes though, the man whispered something the cameras couldn’t quite get and she went back inside the ring. Whatever he told her, it surely worked as the Tiana now in the ring was way more focused than the one who left it moments before, able to dodge the flurry of punches and duck the clothesline before taking the champion down with a brutal roundhouse kick. The match continued and Tiana truly gave Alex a run for her money. It’s unlikely that Andrews underestimated the opponent, but surely she wasn’t expecting the kid to put up this kind of fight. Tiana looked well over her physical problems and fully recovered under a psychological point of view as well, having finally left behind the last months of the Academy, JJ Night’s injury and what happened to her best friend Trinity after she stepped up to avenge her. In the months spent at the Fight Lab, Tiana worked on her evasion skill, a sort of trademark that unites all of Yulia’s students. She kept herself away from most of Alex’s offense, exploiting the openings the champion left in her guard to strike her with fast and precise shots. One kick to the leg brought Andrews to her knee and as she started to get up, Tiana took a quick run to the ropes and dropped the champion on her face with a running bulldog. More kicks landed on Alex’s chest but she was able to dodge Petrova-Hammond’s superkick, a tribute to her friend’s Trinity. It was the opening Andrews’ needed to turn the tides. She wore Tiana down a series of suplexes, finishing the sequence with the Queen’s End hammerlock ddt, but the Academy graduate kicked out in two. A quick glance at the clock made the champion realize that she needed to hurry up if she wanted to end the contest within the 15 minutes time limit. She picked up the pace managing to get another near fall with the Alex Crusher but missing with the Elysium bicycle kick. Tiana was quick to put Alex in a knee bar, but the MENTV champion was able to drag herself to the ropes. Now there was a little over a minute left to get the win for the champion and she tried to score it with the Hella Rough but Tiana countered the attempt and planted the champion on her head with a snapmare driver. Tiana made the cover but Alex kicked out just in the nick of time. Five seconds after that, the bell rang, ending the match with a draw. WINNER: Draw BY: Time Limit, 15:00 |
Backstage we find “The Assassin” Clyde Sutter. He is standing by himself, dressed in his wrestling gear and a trenchcoat. He has a sinister grin on his face.
Clyde Sutter
“Pick your poison. Isn’t that funny, little Billy? Pick your poison…”
He chuckles.
Clyde Sutter
Am I supposed to be your poison? No. Poison often takes too long. Poison can be a long and agonizing death. Unless, of course, it is cyanide and then it was used mostly by war criminals so that they could commit suicide to avoid capture. Cyanide was quick but what I plan to do to you won’t be quick and it damn sure won’t be painless. You see, little Billy, time catches up with everyone eventually. And your time has come up tonight. You were chosen, not for glory or grandeur, but to be destroyed. Tonight I will be your judge, your jury, and your executioner. Tonight your time runs out.
He shakes his head.
Clyde Sutter
Ah but Mr. James Edwards still has time left on his biological clock. I know Pierce Manning lacks the testicular fortitude to put an end to your pathetic career before you get to me. And I know that even if he were to try…well…I know that he couldn’t stop you anyway. You will survive tonight. You may even impress the legions tonight in your performance against Manning. But that does NOT change your destiny. Your fate has been sealed. Your biological clock is running down and it will run out when you and I meet head to head one on one.
He points a finger at the camera.
Clyde Sutter
Which is precisely what YOU wanted, Mr. Edwards. That’s funny, I never knew anyone who actually had a death wish. But you…you’re the first…
After the match, we see Alex Andrews brush past by a few people, her MENTV Title in hand, her face telling the picture, she's not happy. She turns a few corners and makes it back to her locker room, tossing her belt on her gym bag. Alex starts pacing, obviously irritated.
Alex Andrews :
Gah. What's wrong with me? Couldn't even put her away in time. You've managed to do it time and again. No one else knows these rules and pressure that title brings like you do, Alex. And you dropped the ball. She survived and this whole match is basically a wash...
She shakes her head in disgust, with herself mostly it seems.
Alex Andrews :
You know what you want. You want Pierce Manning's head on a platter, you want to be the proper face of Riot...And that belt, the MENTV Championship is the straight line to do just that. Just gotta keep defending and winning....And I've been doing just that..until now...
She starts tearing off her wrist tape and flings it at the wall, grumbling to herself. Alex then stops and tries to catch her breath.
Alex Andrews :
It's not all bad. It just means you gotta wait a little longer, right? Just keep winning. Just keep swimming, don't be so dang impatient. You've got this, Alex, you do.
She keeps trying to keep her self calm as the scene fades.

Pick Your Poison
Pierce Manning VS James EdwardsPick Your Poison
In the first of two Pick Your Poison matches, the Riot Champion went one on one against James Edwards. And despite the Burning Heart publicly stating that this match doesn’t matter and his focus is on Wednesday’s tag match, when the bell rang that fighting spirit and pride kicked in, and he gave his 100%. He started off very aggressively, something Pierce wasn’t expecting. The champion was backed against the ropes and immediately stuck his upper body out, obtaining a break. James backed down and the referee brought the two back in the middle of the ring. This time they locked up in an evenly matched test of strength. Manning stomped the opponent’s foot and quickly lifted him for an atomic drop, taking a run to the ropes and delivering a big boot that knocked James down. Manning made the cover and Edwards kicked out in one. This set Pierce off and The Man began stomping at his head. Once satisfied, he pulled Edwards up and sent him against the ropes with an Irish whip, reversed by James who then caught Pierce on the rebound with a spinning elbow strike. The champ was down, but not out. The match continued and James stayed on the attack, hooking Manning’s arm and dropping him on his head with the butterfly brainbuster. You have to give Billy credit, his decision to pick James Edwards as Pierce’s opponent was the right one. Edwards proved, not that anybody really would question it, that he can go with the Riot champion. Pierce had to resort to one of his tricks to get a break, an always effective thumb to the eye followed by a bodyslam. Pierce went for a knee drop but James rolled out of the way, causing the champion to hurt his knee. There was an attempted Violent Gospel from Edwards but The Man dodged it and rolled out of the ring. James waited for him to get back in, and once he did, he went to stomp his head. Pierce grabbed his leg and kicked the other one off, taking James to the mat. He then kneeled down on him and rained some hard right hands to the skull for a total of five. Manning then went for another knee drop, this time connecting the move and picking up a two count. The two surely weren’t holding anything back, gifting the fans with an intense back and forth in the middle of the ring. James was the one who came out on top and went for the Wildfire to score the upset win. Manning quickly ducked the spik kick and caught the opponent with his rotatig belly to back suplex side slam, getting another two out of it. James obtained another near fall with the Kill Up, Pierce with the trademark hangman’s neckbreaker. The final moments of the match were pretty chaotic as Manning’s first attempt at his TBTM was frustrated by James who almost locked him in his Ancient Fire. Somehow Pierce was able to escape before the triangle choke was locked in. Mere moments later, the two of them were up to their feet, once again trading strikes. This time Pierce got the upper hand and stunned James with an uppercut to the chin. He went for a second TBTM attempt, successfully connecting the Gory neckbreaker this time and picking up a hard fought win. WINNER: Pierce Manning BY: Pinfall (TBTM), 15:38 |
*PRE-RECORDED*
The smoke in the background, bellowing through the trees that lined Cedar St. the sound of mass chaos following. Halloween in East Lansing. Couldn’t ask for anything more perfect.
That’s where we see our World Champion. Sporting a white Nike hooded sweatshirt with the famous dark green outline of “Gruff Sparty” screen printed on the chest, and a pair of black Nike sweatpants.
Duke Andrews:
On a day off, this is not what i had in mind. On a day off, the last thing I wanted to do was think about Glory.
His words were cold. The crisp air causing the moisture from his lips to be visible. The leaves falling behind him as the screaming continued from the drunk Spartan faithful as yet another couch went up in flames.
Duke Andrews:
The tried and true time honored tradition of burning couches. It’s fitting. Today my boys in green were looked at as the underdog because little brother has the history of being the champion. Forty two conference titles to nine for my dawgs. Simple. They should’ve won, because history says so. Just like the world says Glory should win. Her fifteen titles to my five.
A smirk formed on the lips of Duke Andrews as he stopped in his tracks. The sirens heard in the distance as the fire department was coming on scene to take care of the couch fires.
Duke Andrews:
But in the heat of battle, it’s about who wants it more. It isn’t the one that’s always chirping. It isn’t the one saying they just need that one chance. It’s about the dawg that turns it on when it counts. It’s about the dawg in the fight. Glory, you’re a dog. Not gonna lie. You’ve been at the top of the mountain, but you are Old Yeller compared to the nasty pitbull you’re squaring up with. The old saying of don’t back a dawg into the corner, take that advice Glory. Heed that advice, Glory.
Duke stopped once again in his slow walk towards Spartan Stadium.
Duke Andrews:
You have your shot because you beat me in a tag match that meant nothing. Bravo. You did something no one had done in almost a year. Bravo, Old Yeller. Congrats. Now you’ve smacked the big dawg. You’ve cornered the big dawg. What happens next is something that you should be worried about. You get me in the ring one on one. Something you’ve never had before. The mentality is different. The fight is different. The stakes, they’re so much higher now. When this is over, I promise you that you’ll be worried about On The arise. You’ll be afraid for your career when you see the stipulation I select for this fight. It won’t be a match, it won’t be anything other than a downright fight. You are trying to take the most important thing from my grasp. Be prepared to have your life shaken up.
Just like that the view on the camera goes up in flames.

Pick Your Poison
Billy Danielson VS Clyde SutterPick Your Poison
The Riot champion’s choice to face Billy Danielson was the best money can buy. As Tiffany Lynn-Page can testify, Clyde Sutter is extremely reliable for this kind of job and definitely worth every penny of it. Take tonight, for example, when he attacked Billy from behind during his entrance, knocking him down with a clothesline to the back. The Assassin relentlessly picked Billy’s head up by the hair and violently slammed it on the steel ramp, causing the already loud jeers to grow even louder. As he dragged him to the ring, he made sure he tossed him into the barricades a couple of times, one to each side. Finally they reached ringside, Clyde was still holding The Franchise by the hair and tried to slam his face on the apron before pushing him under the bottom rope, but Billy blocked it and it was Sutter’s face that met the hardest part of the ring. The fans came alive as Billy started fighting back, throwing some wild haymakers at the Assassin and whipping him into the ring post. A suplex on the concrete floor followed, and then Billy just lifted Clyde and dropped him stomach-first on the barricade. He gestured to the fans to step back and hopped the barricade, delivering a vicious big boot to the side of the head. More brawling outside, a close encounter with the commentary table for Billy, a guaranteed headache for Sutter due to a vicious ddt on the floor and then, Clyde rolled inside the ring, followed by Danielson. By the time the two entered the ring, they both were already pretty banged up, but still fighting. The referee wanted to do things the right way and separate them so that the match could officially start, but getting his head almost chopped off by a random backfist whilst the duo was beating the crap out of each other was the kind of experience that would make the official reconsider his intentions. He had it sound while pinches were flying back and forth between the two contenders. The match itself, from bell to bell, was shorter than its prelude, and you can bet the punishment received and handed in that long and grueling brawl outside was the main cause of it. No time for grappling, flipping or any fancy move, the two kept throwing stiff shots with the occasional power move when anyone could get the advantage. And, obviously, at least half a dozen of Chicago Blackouts as Billy tried to reshape the opponent’s skull with his knee. Clyde had the chance to wrap this up when he connected two consecutive powerbombs on Billy and set him up for the last part of his Judge, Jury And Executioner. Danielson somehow countered the F5 attempt, landing on his feet and quickly dropping down the Assassin with the move he calls Thinning The Herd (rko). It took him too long to get in position to make the cover though, thus giving Clyde the chance to kick out in two. Sutter missed the clothesline from hell as Danielson ducked under it and quickly spun around to catch Clyde with a kick to the stomach and picked him up over his shoulder, hoisting him up in a crucifix position and driving him into the canvas with The Franchise. Backstage we find “The British Bombshell” Glory Braddock walking the halls of the SNHU Arena in Manchester New Hampshire. The lovely blonde is dressed head to toe in black; black pants, black pants, a black top, and a black jacket. She is even sporting a black witch’s hat on top of her head. The British Bombshell stops dead in her tracks when MWE journalist Robbie Hayden steps in her way.
Robbie
Uh, Glory? Glory Braddock?
Glory Braddock
Yeah, Robbie isn’t it? What can I do for you, mate?
Robbie
I was hoping to get your thoughts about Duke Andrews. It appears as if you will get your wish, you will get a world championship match, and tonight’s match against him will determine who gets to pick the stipulation for that match.
Braddock nods her head.
Glory Braddock
Sure, absolutely, but first why don’t you compliment me on my hat?
Robbie
Your hat?
Glory Braddock
Yeah…in the spirit of the season, being Halloween and all, I figured why not pull out this witch’s hat? It was leftover from an old costume many years ago. Hell, I don’t even know where the rest of the costume is anymore. I think I accidentally threw it away. But at least I have the hat, and at least I can celebrate the season to some degree. And that is the great thing about Halloween, isn’t it Robbie? Even if for one night it is normal to live in a fantasy land where you are someone completely different. Unfortunately there are those who live in that fantasy land every waking moment of their lives. There are those who believe that they are someone they are not twenty four hours a day. Take Duke Andrews for instance…he is good. He is damn good. I always give credit where it is due and he is a worthy MWE World Champion. But if he thinks even for one second that this title defense against The British Bombshell is going to be a cakewalk then he is in for a rude awakening. In my thirteen year career I have fought men as tough as him and I have beaten men as tough as him. I have endured the toughest and most difficult of challenges during my career. He can bring all of the pain he wants and I will dish out my own brand of pain and violence right back at him. Everything he throws at me, I am prepared to throw right back at him in order to become the MWE World Champion.
Robbie
Any idea as to what stipulation you might pick if you were to win tonight?
Braddock chuckles.
Glory Braddock
Right, like I would give that away so easily? Keep dreaming, mate. But I will say this much, I am a traditionalist. Everyone knows that about me. But ultimately it doesn’t matter what the stipulation is because one of my strengths is the ability to adapt to any situation. In thirteen years you go through a lot of matches…ladder matches, street fights, cell matches, submission matches, iron man matches…you run the gamut of gimmicks and stipulations. During that time I have won fifteen World Championships. And when my time comes, when I get my title match, I will beat Duke and I will become a sixteen time World Champion.

Winner picks the stipulation for the match at On The Rise
Duke Andrews VS Glory BraddockWinner picks the stipulation for the match at On The Rise
Amy Maynard: “We have a preview of On The Rise’s main event right here tonight, ladies and gentlemen. How cool is that?” Sir Figgles: “Another LAME booking decision. Why would you give away for free the BIGGEST match on the pay-per-view card two weeks before it?” Amy Maynard: “Well, for one it’s highly unlikely this will be the exact same match we’ll see at the PPV, considering that the winner of tonight’s match will get to pick the stipulation for their next encounter in Greensboro.” Sir Figgles: “You’re such a suck up Amy, always defending the boss.” The match started and Glory was the one who struck first, taking up on Duke’s invite. She smacked him hard across the cheek with a right hand but the World champion basically absorbed the impact or, if he actually felt it, he hid it very well. Braddock wasn’t impressed and attacked with a barrage of quick jabs and low kicks, looking to bring the champion down. Andrews finally joined in and began to fight back, his heavy strikes undoubtedly doing more damage to the Best In The World than her own were doing to the champion. And yet, Glory wasn’t backing down, fighting back blow for blow despite the clear disadvantage. Quick to duck Duke’s lariat, Braddock moved behind the man’s back and kicked him hard in the back of his thigh, causing him to get down on one knee. She sprinted toward the ropes and smashed his face in with a running single leg knee strike, making the first cover of the match. Duke kicked out in one. Amy Maynard: “I have a feeling Duke underestimated Braddock. And that could be a huge mistake.” Sir Figgles: “She’s no slouch, that’s true. But she’s not Duke either. She got a lucky start but, mark my words, things are about to change.” And they did, as Duke blocked Glory’s offense and struck her down with the Crossroads (leghook reverse STO). Duke stalked the British Bombshell, circling around her and stomping at every limb. Right hand, right leg, then he moved to the left side, doing the same. He was now standing in front of her, watching her squirming in pain. He looked down and talked some trash, asking how she could call herself Best In The World. And then he raised his leg, ready to stomp her head. He drove it down with such fierceness he might as well have caved her skull in, if she didn’t roll out of the way. Braddock was then quick to spin around and take him down with a leg sweep kick, popping up to her feet to jump for a knee drop. She pulled Duke up to his feet and went for an irish whip but once again the World Champion’s strength came into play and she was the one hitting the corner. Duke charged in for a clothesline, Glory raised her leg to kick him on the face but he blocked it. He smiled at Braddock before pushing her foot down and landing a massive forearm strike that left the former Riot champion stunned. Duke tried to choke the contender to his title by pushing his boot against her throat. Glory tried to fight back, grabbing his foot in a desperate attempt to release some pressure but to no avail. Duke was too strong; her only hope was to resist until the referee broke it up. Or do something incredible like raising her legs and wrap them around Duke’s one, helping herself with the ropes to flip over for a beautiful takedown, keeping the legbar locked in. Amy Maynard: “My goodness, what a move!” Sir Figgles: “I must admit I didn't see that coming..” Duke easily got to the ropes and broke up the submission. The two went back to their feet for another round, this time it was Glory getting the best of it thanks to her speed and agility. She kept moving around Andrews, hitting him with quick strikes before going for the Beautiful Insanity ddt, getting a count of two out of it. As Duke got up, Braddock made a first attempt at The Glorification but it was countered by the World champion who pushed her away. She came back charging but Duke lifted her in the air and dropped her on the top rope with a stun gun. As she was clutching her neck with both hands, looking to regain her breath, Andrews grabbed her by the hair and then dragged her face across the top rope. The referee tried to stop him but his words fell on deaf ears. Duke stopped midway and then Irish whipped Braddock across the ring. She bounced back and the champion tossed her in the air and slammed her into the canvas with a sit down powerbomb. Sir Figgles: “That’s what I’m talking about!” Amy Maynard: “That’s definitely a game changer, I’m surprised Glory even kicked out.” She survived, yes, but that powerbomb opened a phase of dominance for Duke. For several minutes the champion stayed in control, throwing Glory around with ease in an apparently never ending sequence of suplexes. The Epitome Of Perfection didn’t mind adding a few hard strikes after ragdolling Glory for a couple of minutes. His Red White And Blue Combo knocked Braddock down, but only for two seconds. As his confidence grew, Duke took things a little too far with a stalling vertical suplex, holding Glory upside down for a long time. Too long, as Braddock was able to escape the awkward position and land behind the champion’s back. She grabbed him by the shoulder, forced him to turn and jumped, bringing her knees to his face and connecting the Gloria In Excelsis Deo. She hooked the leg, but Duke kicked out again in two. Amy Maynard: “Half a second away from the chance to choose the stipulation of their match.” She came even closer one minute later with the Blaze Of Glory (shooting star press) but the referee’s hand stopped inches away from the three. The Best In The World went for another The Glorification attempt but Duke blocked the move and bent forward, pinning Glory with a backslide and almost getting away with the win. Before Braddock could get fully up, Andrews blasted her with the Killshot and made the cover. Sir Figgles: “One, two and thrrr…” Amy Maynard: “Great ring awareness by the former Riot champion.” The British Bombshell survived to fight another day, though the end for her seemed to be near. Duke even signaled for it and then hoisted her up over his shoulders, ready to deliver the Andrews Effect. But the 15 time world Champion had an ace up her sleeve, one last desperate attempt to prevent what looked like an already sealed fate. She shifted her weight forward, surprising Andrews with a victory roll and keeping his shoulder down for the three. Barely. WINNER: Glory Braddock BY: Pinfall (Victory Roll), 16:11 |
