2x03 TWO RODE TOGETHER
The Gym
October 18, 2021
7:00 AM
The new week for the Academy students won’t really start for another hour and half, but three of them were forced to an early beginning as their Team Leader summoned them at this ungodly hour. Only two were actually present by the time the cameras started to roll, and the look on their face was telling the whole story, a mix of drowsiness, curiosity, and dubiety. Bebe especially looked nervous, constantly glancing over at Shaina who just ignored the camera-woman, too busy answering her fans in a quick Instagram Q&A session with her fans.
The echo of Helena’s footsteps on the gym’s floor abruptly cut the interaction, the videoblogger quickly hid her phone.
Helena Noir:
Good morning girls, and thanks for coming. Well, the two of you who deigned to show up anyway.
Shaina jumped in quickly to try and suck up to their Team Leader, being the first to speak.
Shaina:
Well we didn’t wanna keep you waiting ma’m.
She gives a big smile to Helena, but Helena quickly notices that she was hiding something.
Helena Noir:
I’m afraid this is a private meeting. Can you please switch that off?
Shaina feigned innocence for a moment, but noticing the look on Helena’s face, she reluctantly and silently pulled her phone out and switched it off. So much for a live audience…
Helena Noir:
I believe you two know why I asked you to join me.
She continued after giving Shaina a quick nod, her eyes now shifting between the two students in front of her.
Helena Noir:
Who wants to say it?
Bebe, pulling a sour face, raised her hand meekly. She then stood up, casting her eyes over to Shaina, then turned her team leader.
Bebe LeBeau:
I know the reason.
The former MWE Camerawoman muttered, taking another moment to look at the woman that she had recently teamed with.
Bebe LeBeau:
We’re all here so they can apologise to me!!!
Taking immediate offense to this, Shaina snapped back at such a suggestion.
Shaina:
Excuse me? You're the one who lost, loser!
With tempers flaring right away, Helena thought it would be wiser to step up and immediately shut it down before it escalated.
Helena Noir:
No, THIS is why we’re here. This is why you lost the match last friday.
She stared at both women for a few, seemingly long, seconds. Making sure they understood she wasn’t blaming anyone in particular for it, but the three of them in equal measures.
Helena Noir:
And I really wish Bey was here as well because this is on her just as much as it is on each and everyone of you.
Helena moved her eyes to Shaina.
Helena Noir:
You really think it was a good idea to belittle your own tag team partner before the match? You’re supposed to save the trash talk to your opponents, not those who are on your side.
The tone of her voice remained stern, though at the same time she tried to soften it by taking a step toward her and placing a hand on her shoulder. After all, her role was that of teaching them and helping them to grow, not demolishing them at their first mistake. Despite that however, Shaina was quick to defend herself.
Shaina:
Well it wasn't me who started it. And I wasn't the one who flipped off her own partner in the middle of the match…
Bebe LeBeau:
HEY! I saved you how many times even though you were being so rude for weeks and weeks! Like, three times or something? If I didn’t do that, YOU would have been the one taking the fall! And I didn’t see you returning the favor!
Bebe crossed her arms in a huff, looking on the verge of throwing one of her little temper tantrums.
Bebe LeBeau:
And Bey, if she actually fed on something other than her own ego, maybe she wouldn’t have been so exhausted and maybe she would have made a tag earlier.
Helena Noir:
She should have.
The team leader once again stepped into the argument between the two students.
Helena Noir:
Knowing your limits and how much your body can take is often underestimated. You can keep that level of intensity for a certain amount of time before having to, inevitably, slow down. And if you have the chance, make the tag and let your partner in.
She took a brief pause, focusing on Bebe now.
Helena Noir:
That doesn’t mean that what you did was justified, Bebe. Or acceptable.
Much like she did with Shaina before, she stepped closer to Bebe and placed her tattooed hand on the shoulder.
Helena Noir:
You had two options there. Make the tag and let Shaina in or, if you really thought you had it, ignore her and focus on your opponent to finish your job. Instead, you got distracted, wasted time and ate the pin.
Bebe’s jaw dropped as Helena said this, folding her arms as she stomped her feet lightly on the ground.
Bebe LeBeau:
Well, maybe if we could get a mute function for Shaina like everyone uses on her social media account, maybe we wouldn’t have to put up with her screaming and get distracted!
Shaina can't help but jump at her again for such a remark.
Shaina:
Stop trying to put the blame on me! If you just tagged me in we wouldn't even be here right now, but noooo you just had to act like a stupid clown in front of everyone! You're the one who got pinned, not me, not Beybey, just you. You're the only loser on this team!
Bebe LeBeau:
Excuse me! I was here first! I’m a Bebe, she’s a BeyBish!
Noir shook her head and cleared her throat, thus getting the attention of the two young ladies who immediately stopped bickering.
Helena Noir:
You fought in three, you lost in three. That’s a fact. If you worked together rather than against each other, if you cooperated instead of trying to outdo your own partners… THEN you wouldn’t be here.
She stared at them in silence after those words, letting the two of them reflect on what she just said before she continued.
Helena Noir:
You tried to impress me and the other students, but let me tell you… You failed to. You showed an ounce of what I know you can do, but the most important thing? Teamwork? You screwed that part up big time, and you’re still doing it.
She spoke in a harsher tone now, clearly not pleased by the turn of events.
Helena Noir:
One of you thought she’s too good for this and didn’t even come here and you two… You keep acting like toddlers.
Bebe looked down to her feet, clearly a little embarrassed by what had just occurred.
Bebe LeBeau:
She started it.
Shaina:
Quit acting like a baby.
Bebe LeBeau:
A Bebe!
Shaina:
Not funny!
There was a sigh coming from Helena, the Swede looking at the two students, shaking her head.
Helena Noir:
I don’t have anything else to say… Not that you seemed to have understood much of what I said until now.
She pushed herself up from the machine she was laying against while Bebe and Shaina went back and forth and raised the hand to show them the door.
Helena Noir:
But your class is starting soon, you’re free to go.
Both students nodded and turned around, heading to their first class of the week. As they walked away, Helena spoke again.
Helena Noir:
In its first year, the Academy proved to be an excellence when it comes to the training and formation of the next generation of professional wrestlers. I hope you realize that you’re blessed to be here and start acting accordingly.

3:22 PM
It’s quiet in the Academy as Emma Wakefield is making her way out of the gym after a quick last minute workout session in preparation for her first ever singles match later on in the evening. It also happens to be her birthday which gives her an extra little bounce in her step as she takes one quick drink from her water bottle. She reaches back with her free hand to pull her blonde hair out from the ponytail, half distracted as she continues to walk, a lot on her mind.
She almost doesn’t notice that there is a visitor waiting there for her in the lobby as she comes to a stop, recognizing the smiling face, someone familiar to her who also offered to help with her training from time to time at the Academy after getting the green light permission. Emma returns the smile almost instantly, wishing she wasn’t dressed in her gym clothes, but still she manages to keep her spirits on the positive side.
Emma Wakefield:
Bobby! What are you doing here?!
Bobby Bradley:
Well I heard a rumour that it was someone’s birthday…
He has what he would describe as a coy smile on his face though it’s pretty evident that to anyone watching that’s it’s more of a goofy grin, though that’s part of his charm. He holds out a large white rose bouquet surrounded in baby’s breath for the ace academy student.
Bobby Bradley:
Happy Birthday, Emma! I know you’d like to be out partying but you’ve got a huge chance to show off your skills tonight and I couldn’t be more excited to see you perform!
Emma’s entire face lights up as she grabs for the bouquet with both of her hands.
Emma Wakefield:
Oh my God! These are so beautiful Bobby, thank you!
She brings the roses up to her nose so she can appreciate the full effect of the flowers, giving Bobby another big smile, the excitement she was feeling for tonight growing even bigger.
Emma Wakefield:
It means a lot to me that you’re going to be there tonight. I still get sooo many butterflies when I’m out there in the ring.
He nods understanding, just so happy that she enjoys the flowers.
Bobby Bradley:
Well that’s understandable, but you have to overcome that stuff. It’ll get easier with experience, trust me. Just get in that model headspace of being in front of people and it should come easier for you. They’re no different than any other audience, they came to see you, you can’t let them down by being there.
Emma Wakefield:
Bey Addams is a pretty tough opponent too, it’s all so overwhelming!
Emma laughs a little, almost nervous, as she clutches the roses tighter against her in an effort to calm down the butterflies in the pit of her stomach.
Emma Wakefield:
...but I’ll definitely do my best if you’re going to be watching.
Bobby Bradley:
Well of course I’ll be watching, your sister said she was going to make it as well, just had to go over some last minute instructions with the babysitter. Why she thought she needed all of those with your parents I’ll never know, but that’s Holly.”
He laughs, trying to make sure Emma stays upbeat at the thought of the daunting challenge ahead. It’s enough to get another laugh out of Emma as she shakes her head.
Emma Wakefield:
She is a little bit of a control freak, but she means well.
Bobby Bradley:
Oh I know, but that’s why she’s not here with me. Either way, you should probably try and get something to eat before the match. Are you allowed to get some food or is there like a cafeteria area?
Emma Wakefield:
Oh! Of course, come with me.
Emma barely gives Bobby a chance to reply as she reaches out with one hand to grab his arm so she can lead him towards the cafeteria. He allows himself to be pulled along as they go off to grab some food, not wanting to go against the wishes of the birthday girl after all.

4:45 PM
The brightly lit Academy hallway where Addison was relaxing between classes was eerily quiet, most had gone to the gym or video room, or even the cafeteria, but she decided to sit on the floor with phone in hand, swiping between TikTok’s when her excessively loud ringtone blasted off. She stared at it for a moment, Go Go Power Rangers playing while she debated on if she wanted to answer it...and she didn’t. She went back to her videos when the sound of someone slamming their hand on a door made her jump.
Sean Bennington:
What the hell, brat? Going to keep ignoring my calls?
She jumped on the floor and ran to hug him, though he held a hand out to stop her.
Sean Bennington:
Oh no, no no no. I fly all the way up here, kids and wife in tow, and you don’t even have the decency to answer my damn call.
She looked at the floor, kicking at the ground as she pouted. Sean put a finger under her chin and lifted her head, shaking his in response.
Sean Bennington:
You know this doesn’t work, I have kids that do this better than you.
Addi McKins:
Well SOOOOOOOOOORRY, I’m just busy! And you drone on, and on, and on…
He playfully pushed her away and she stomped her foot with a huff.
Addi McKins:
Besides, TEXTING is better. Or Tweeting. Or DM’ing. Who does phone calls anymore?
Sean Bennington:
Well, excuse me, but I thought the phone part of a cell phone was to make phone calls. Look, that’s not important, you doing good? They treating you right?
Addi McKins:
Better than you throwing ice water on me and kicking my ass every day.
He rolled his eyes.
Sean Bennington:
That smart mouth is going to get you in trouble someday.
She shrugged her way into the hug she wanted.
Addi McKins:
Yeah, maybe, but I got my friend Vi here to watch my back. We’re teaming up too! Gonna be pretty great.
Sean Bennington:
Yeah, yeah. Just remember to check your ego at the lockerroom. I’ll be here for a bit, so I’ll march my happy ass in here to smack some sense into you if I need to.
Addi took that as a challenge, stepped back and tried to kick Sean in the gut, only he was quick to catch her foot. With a push, he sent her to the hard ground, earning a whine from the young student.
Sean Bennington:
Always with the damn kicking whenever I say I’ll smack you.
Addi stared up at him with a frown, which quickly turned into a smile. He helped her up as the two laughed.
Addi McKins:
Oh, I know! Come on, let’s go find Vi and you can tell us what to do against Alex and that bitch Shaina.
He raised an eyebrow and held his hands up in protest.
Sean Bennington:
I’ll go with you to see your friend, sure, but I’m not your trainer or your coach anymore. I’m just a fan taking in a couple of shows. And that bitch is going to smack that word out of your mouth if you keep parading around like you’re better than her, because I’m gonna let you know now, you have a LONG way to go before you can keep up here.
She frowned, staring at him with doe eyes.
Sean Bennington:
But you’ll get there. Come on, get your stuff, let’s go meet your friend so I can get the hell outta here. It’s too clean.
He pushed her toward her scattered belongings and let her lead on to...where ever Vi was hiding out at. Another adventure.
