Singles Match
Lucie Callaway VS Jada HashfordIn the opening contest of the night the Millennium fans witnessed the return of the youngest champion in MWE history. Lucie Callaway was back after dealing with some personal matters, ready to take back her career. She was facing Jada Hashford, certainly not an easy opponent though, in all fairness, she seemed to be struggling a bit more here in Millennium than she was doing in Valiant. Still, the Backwoods Braggart was as tough as nails, and she surely showed in the first minutes, where she took Lucie’s initial flurry of offense and looked unbothered. She then started fighting back, hitting Callaway with some heavy rights. Lucie stumbled back, hitting the ropes and bouncing back into a hard big boot from the Mississippi Queen. Lucie went down and Jada quickly jumped on top of her with a senton, hooking the leg and making the cover for a two count. As Jada picked her up, Lucie quickly realized she couldn’t leave the initiative to her, and challenging her in a striking contest probably wasn’t the best idea. So she raised her knee into Jada’s midsection, doubling her over and hitting the ropes to kick her to the side of the head with a running big boot. Jada fell flat on her back and immediately picked herself up, but a jumping knee drop from Callaway pushed her back on the canvas. The former Chicago Way champion tried a pinfall with a beautiful springboard moonsault, but Jada kicked out in time. The match continued, more of the same when it comes to strategy. Lucie used her speed to stay away from Jada whose hard hitting style, when it connected, put Callaway in a tough spot. Now the Backwoods Braggart was in control after catching Lucie in mid-air off a diving crossbody attempt and hanging her upside down on the turnbuckle in the infamous tree of woe position. Jada then took a run to the ropes and came back at full speed with a cannonball, knocking Lucie off the corner. Another cover for the Valiant wrestler, but Callaway wisely grabbed the bottom rope with her hand to interrupt it. Hashford kept pushing on the gas, dropping Lucie on her knee with a shoulderbreaker, followed by a diving fist drop, but Callaway kicked out once again. Despite showing some understandable ring rust, the youngest champion in MWE history found a way to turn the tables in the final moments of the match with a furious flurry of hard headbutts that left Jada stunned. She followed with the Nine Crimes (snapmare driver) but it wasn’t enough to get the three. Lucie kept attacking the Backwoods Braggart with a fast kicking combination, the last one of which was a superkick that threw Jada back against the turnbuckle. Callaway followed with a double knees into the corner and quickly left the ring, climbing to the top for the Hell Upside Down, a spectacular 630 splash that secured her the win. WINNER: Lucie Callaway BY: Pinfall (Hell Upside Down), 9:41 |
Here in Glendale, Arizona we are backstage where we witness the Tag Team Champions entering the building. Both still in their street clothes, their match not until later tonight. Karen leads the way with a black dress and her title over her shoulder as Olly follows not far behind with his belt over his shoulder as well. Their bags are being carried by a staffer, who seems to be struggling a tad with both of them. Karen stops shaking her head as she looks back at Olly.
Karen Eldon:
Is it not a bit ridiculous that we are facing Fabulous? I mean what have they done lately to earn a title shot? Management is just giving them away at this point.
Olly shrugs his shoulders, the tone of his answer just a tad careless.
Olly:
They probably cried with management, you know how these things work…
Turning around for a moment, he glances at the staffer, seeing him having some troubles with their bags. Rather than trying to help him, he lets out a light chuckle and turns back.
Olly:
Then again, we beat every single team in MWE, it was just a matter of time before they started scraping the bottom of the barrel… And that’s where they found Fabulous.
Karen Eldon:
True I just thought I’d moved past these types of losers. Whatever, we’ll just keep doing our thing. Taking belts after belts. You know people didn’t understand why the two of us work together, it’s simple. We’re both just winners!
Karen smiles having a laugh, tooting their own horns as the staffer adjusts the bags some sweat at this point coming down his brow.
Olly:
You know what the best part of all this is, Karen? How people keep overlooking us, thinking we are nothing but jokes.. And constantly get proven wrong. Two matches in MWE and we were champions, third match in Valiant this Sunday and, make no mistake, we will be the number one contenders. DeathGraps? We were one of the less credited teams on the fallback tournament and we made it to the semi-finals of the real deal, only losing to the champions because of the Tribe’s cowardly attack.
He rolls his eyes.
Olly:
Do you think people learned their lesson this time?
Karen Eldon:
Of course not. But tonight? In the main event, where we belong. We will put down Summer and Jessica for good. Because they claim to be fabulous, but we are levels above that. We are perfect.
The two smugly enter the building, seeming fully confident in their abilities against Fabulous tonight.
Singles Match
Nine van der Hoek VS Niko YuaThe two competitors started the match with a classic collar and elbow tie up and Nine immediately showed her great technique, learned under the legendary Alessio van Duren. She quickly took Niko to the mat, applying an arm submission from which the Japanese struggled to get out. Yus massaged her shoulder, further proof of how dangerous the Frisian Demon can be. A lesson Niki learned early in the match, doing her best to avoid getting in such a situation again. Using her kicks she managed to keep the New Problem at a safe distance. It worked for a while, especially combined with her speed to capitalize on the openings her kicks provided with swift impactful moves such as a running neckbreaker or a snap suplex. But then Nine caught her foot and that was when the problems started again for Yua. Nine dropped a couple of elbows to the kneecap and took her down with a dragon screw leg whip, keeping the hold on the foot and twisting the leg in an unnatural and painful looking way. And just when it looked like Niko had found a way out of it, Nine flowed right into a different hold in one fluid motion. As the match went on the consequences of those holds really showed as Niko began to limp, dragging her leg a bit. But if her leg didn't work at full capacity, Niko could still count on her arms to keep Nine away from her injured leg. Punches, forearms and elbows combinations fended off the attacks of the Frisian Demon, though it was with throws and suplexes that Niki did the real damage. After getting a two count with a snap dragon suplex, the Blade Maiden Of Tokyo looked ready for the killshot, but the Meteor Strike (Bullhammer) missed the target. Nine was quick with the counter, a sharp elbow to the gut that doubled Yua over. Without wasting a second, Nine took a run at the ropes and delivered her Seventh Dream (somersault cutter) transitioning straight into the Seventh Nightmare, the armtrap crossface that left Niko no choice but to tap out. WINNER: Nine van der Hoek BY: Submission (Seventh Nightmare), 11:18 |
The scene opens backstage. Kyle Butler is leaning against a wall in the hallway. The Lockdown Championship is around his waist. The fans cheer.
Kyle Butler:
Leia LeBeau. That’s a blast from the past.
Kyle offers a smile.
Kyle Butler:
Back in the not so glorious days when I admit I was a tad judgemental, I crossed paths with Leia. I was guilty of levying the typical she is a stripper narrative. For a guy like me who came up through the ametur ranks to the pros, seeing a woman who pretty much got into MWE based on how great she looks didn’t set right with me. In the golden era of wrestling you needed to actually put in the work to get on television, to Leia’s credit she did put the work in. Became a champion along the way. Did well in the Battle of the Briefcase tournament. She is more than just a pretty face.
BUT.
Kyle holds up one finger.
Kyle Butler:
Leia still has a long way to go, fair to say? Not saying she can’t beat me. She has proven she can beat a top talent in this company on any given night. Any given night won’t include tonight. Quite frankly, MWE deserves a better standard of champion. When I look at the tag team title scene, GO FABULOUS by the way--
Kyle winks.
Kyle Butler:
The Riot Championship scene. The IC and the Cloudgate, it makes me sad we have champions in this company, despite how talented they may or may not be, who aren’t the greatest human beings in the world. Big shock, douches have dominated pro wrestling since day one. I feel content knowing I am a good guy who has done everything right, standing by the principles this sport was founded on. I hope every time I go out there, all of you feel the same way about me. About Neil. Sophie and Glory. We are the GLORIOUS Golden Era for a reason. Duh, being champion helps. For the past couple years we have been the standard, in the ring, out the ring. On social media, you name it.
It’s my goal to be YOUR champion. I can’t do anything about the K20’s, the Pierce Manning’s and the Matt Stone’s of the world. What I can do is go out there, give you my all, respect whoever stands in front of me. Be the shining example professional wrestling needs.
Kyle nods. The fans cheer. He offers a chuckle.
Kyle Butler:
Oh, it wouldn’t be a Kyle speech without me saying--
He clears his throat.
Kyle Butler:
ROLL TIDE, BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYE BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
He thumps his chest as the fans cheer in unison. He walks off as the scene fades.
Singles Match
Kyle Butler VS Leia LeBeauThe Show is back on Millennium and the reaction the former Junior Heavyweight Champion received by the green brand fans almost left her speechless. The round of applause welcoming Kyle Butler was just as warm, the Lockdown Champion greeted his many fans by raising the title up in the air and yelling his trademark "ROLL TIDE BAYBAY!" The match started and the two competitors began to spin around in circles, studying each other. Butler paid close attention to Leia's leg, well aware of how hard they can hit. She tested the waters a couple of times with quick kicks, parried or dodged by Butler. Leia’s goal with those kicks was to lure Kyle in, open his defense and strike hard whenever that window of opportunity presented itself. But Kyle never took the bait and never exposed himself. Actually, he was the one who caught Leia off guard with a quick uppercut and leveled her with a lariat. Leia quickly stood back up but a second lariat leveled her again, and the same happened for a third time. The Lockdown Champion went for the same move a fourth time, but that was one too many and Leia caught him with a backslide pin, almost getting a surprise three. As they both got up after it and stared at one another, they received a round of applause from the Arizona crowd, who was clearly enjoying what the two fan favorites were putting out. And they continued for the following minutes where the action remained fast paced and back and forth, with a lot of counters. Butler ducked a roundhouse kick and grabbed both legs to take her down, mounting on top to hammer down at her with heavy punches. But Leia was quick to raise her leg and place her foot on his thighs, flipping him over in one swift motion. She rapidly popped up to her feet and hit and jumped with a double foot stomp to the chest. She then made the cover but Kyle raised his shoulder in time. Past the halfway point the intensity picked up a tone as the two started to take on one another more openly now. Leia's educated feet often found their mark, and soon the champion found himself stuck in the corner. Leia charged in, seeing the chance to connect with her Jet City Jive but Kyle moved out of the way. The Showgirl perhaps expected it and was able to slow down and stop before hurting her leg against the turnbuckle, but she couldn't avoid Kyle's Saito suplex. As she got back up, she was met by a couple of hard uppercuts and a neckbreaker. The champion was on a roll now, using his greater strength to his advantage, tossing Leia around with a vast array of suplexes. When LeBeau kicked out for umpteenth time, the first signs of frustration began to show on Butler, who grabbed her by the arms and started stomping her head repeatedly. But not even that was enough to win him the match: he needed the Roll Tide. When he went for the best move in his arsenal though he had to deal with Leia's unexpected reaction. Sensing the danger she was in, the Jet City Woman started to desperately punch him on the sides, getting that little separation she used to push Kyle into the corner and blast him with a knee to the back of the head. She turned the stunned opponent around and pressed the sole of her boot against his neck with the handstand corner foot choke. And by the time she let him go, he was perfectly set up for the Jet City Jive. The running claymore kick this time connected, knocking the Lockdown champion down for the three. WINNER: Leia LeBeau BY: Pinfall (Jet City Jive), 11:08 |
Standing on some random, nondescript part of theGila River Arena is former MMA champion and new MWE signee, Jordan Parker-Kane. The youngest member of the Kane wrestling family is dressed in his ring gear for his match against Dustin Douglas. A plain black t-shirt covers his upper body. He’s sat on a random rolling box, used to haul equipment around.
Jordan Parker-Kane:
The last several weeks have been… Cathartic for me. After spending months dealing with family drama and proving to the world who the superior member of my family is, I was left wondering "what next". That's when I came across a contract offer I had from ole Millennium Wrestling Entertainment. At the time I had received it, I very much wanted to focus on things over in LA at Valiant. When I said I wanted to be a tag team champion with my brother, that was honestly the truth. I always knew Chris looked at himself at the head of the family all that, but I didn’t really care. That was till he got a big head and I had to put him in his place.
Jordan offers a small shrug.
Jordan Parker-Kane:
So I signed up, to be honest partly just to pissed Chris off and continue to show I’m better. I suppose he got the message and has run off. That leaves me in a bit of a spot, unsure what happens next. That was until the powers that be put me against the Murder Train himself. I’ve stood in the ring or cage against some of the greatest fighters in the world and Dustin is right there among them. The size agvantage alone is nearly unfathomable on its own. However, I'm not your average small wrestler.
A small confident smirk spreads across Jordan's face.
Jordan Parker-Kane:
I have great respect for Dustin, and I know this match will be fun. However, the time is coming for me to rise.
The screen fades away to black.
Backstage we see the trusty and loyal Dalek gliding into view. Dalek is pulling what appears to be a large sleigh; large enough to hold an actual throne, but a throne unlike any other. It is dark gray, dirty, and the armrests have what appear to be barbed wire wrapped around them. Seated on the throne is “The Woman Scorned” Kimberly Williams. The deranged ginger is dressed in torn denim jeans, sandals, and a plain black t-shirt. She has a crown atop her head. The SCW Underground Championship title belt and the MWE Chicago Way Championship title belt rest in her lap.
Kimberly Williams
Dalek! Halt!
The Dalek comes to a stop. Kimberly turns to face the camera and smirks.
Kimberly Williams
Tonight is my 199th day as Chicago Way Champion. Tomorrow will mark two-hundred days as the champion of this violent, hardcore division in MWE. And just last week I picked up another promotion’s hardcore championship.
She chuckles.
Kimberly Williams
I am not one to gloat. I just like to enjoy myself and spread my own unique form of cheer and joy. Granted my idea of cheer and joy involved blood, guts, and brutality. But hey, at least someone is happy, even if that one person is just me! And I am not done spreading my unique form of cheer and joy. I am already the second longest reigning Chicago Way Champion and I am quickly approaching the record for longest reign, currently held by Joey Leclair.
She waves at the camera.
Kimberly Williams
Hi, Joey! Apologies in advance for breaking you record! I’ll send you a fruitcake as a consolation! But hey, if anyone wants to try and stop me, they are more than welcome to try. This Chicago Way Championship is going nowhere. And anyone who does try and take this from me will learn one very harsh truth that everyone else has already learned.
She reaches down and picks up the Infinity Gauntlet. She puts it on her hand.
Kimberly Williams
I am…Kimevitable!
She snaps her fingers. Immediately the Dalek starts gliding again, dragging Kim and her throne off screen.
Singles Match
Dusty Douglas VS Jordan Parker-KaneDespite the huge size disadvantage, Jordan Parker-Kane didn’t seem too worried about having to go one on one against the Murder Train. Or, if he was, he was hiding it pretty well. Douglas looked confident as always, inviting the former MMA star to strike first. An unexpected gift that Jordan wasn’t expecting and couldn’t turn down, hitting the Big Nasty with a right hand to the jaw. Dustin took it without even flinching, he actually smiled at Jordan before showing him how it’s done, throwing a wild right hand that knocked Parker down. Jordan quickly realized that challenging Dusty in that department wasn’t the good idea he thought it was, and he needed to come up with something different if he wanted to survive the Murder Train. His speed could be the key to get the upper hand in this, allowing him to stay away from Dustin’s grasp, successfully and efficiently landing a few kicks to the side of the leg, forcing the big man down to one knee. Jordan then dropped him on his head with a hurricanrana driver and made the cover. All that effort only gave him a count of one, and on top of that, it really pissed Douglas off. Jordan fired off another quick striking combination, leaving Douglas standing groggily as he charged to the ropes to come back and hit him with a running forearm. Dustin staggered but he stayed on his feet, prompting Jordan to charge once again for a second attempt. Douglas threw him in the air before he could hit him and simply let him fall flat on his chest. As Parker started to push himself up, the Murder Train squashed him with a senton and rolled him on his back to pin him, but the Texas born raised his shoulder before the three, The Big Nasty asserted his dominance throughout the following minutes, demolishing JPK with heavy punches, backing him into the corner. He charged in and squashed him with a running splash before tossing him all the way across the ring with a Biel toss. A hard landing on the back for Jordan who picked himself up and immediately moved his hand on the sore body part. Dustin showed no mercy and delivered a running big boot to his face. The impact sent JPK against the ropes and bounced back into a backbreaker, from which Dustin got another near fall. But Jordan wasn’t going down easily, the deathmatch he went through with his own brother a month ago really showed how much punishment he can take. He kicked out even from Douglas’ King Kai Bomb and began fighting his way back into this match with the usual series of quick kicks and knee strikes, finishing the big man with an enziguri kick. The cover attempt that followed only gave a two count, and as soon as Dustin kicked out, Jordan caught him in one of his dangerous chokes, slowly squeezing the life out of him. At first Douglas tried to fight his way out of it, but his strength was of no help tonight. The safest and smartest decision was to reach for the ropes and so he did, forcing Jordan to release the submission. Parker kept it a little longer, and the referee wanted to have a conversation with him after he finally let go. While the two were still talking, Commas Oxford appeared at ringside, wielding a steel chair that he promptly smacked across the groggy Dustin’s back, getting some payback from last week’s attack. WINNER: Dusty Douglas BY: DQ, 12:30 |
We cut backstage where we find “The British Bombshell” Glory Braddock. The blonde beauty looks sleek in a black pantsuit, black blouse, and a matching black jacket. She is wearing black patent leather high heeled pumps and a black fedora over her head. A stoic, emotionless gaze is etched across her face.
Glory Braddock
You know, I have been very patient for a very long time. Like I have been saying the past few weeks, it has been a long time since I have held championship gold. The last time I had any championship gold was when I was Riot Champion. My good friend Henri Black took that away from me. Did I ever get another opportunity to regain the gold? No, I didn’t. But I was patient. I kept working hard, I kept fighting. Eventually I earned an opportunity to become MWE World Champion. Despite becoming number one contender did I get a one on one opportunity? No, it was a mutli-person clusterfuck. And I still came so close to winning it all.
She shakes her head.
Glory Braddock
But you won’t hear The British Bombshell make excuses. I lost and I moved on. I learned from my mistakes, I kept fighting, I kept working, waiting patiently for the next opportunity to present itself. That opportunity was set before me one week ago. Duke Andrews and Brookford against Henri Black and yours truly. It was a war, it was a fight, but in the end I took full advantage of the opportunity I was given. I dropped Duke on his head. I pinned the MWE World Champion in the center of the ring.
She chuckles lightly.
Glory Braddock
Duke, you say you are disappointed? Hell, I’m disappointed that you don’t have an opponent. After pinning you last week I think you and I should have had a match right here tonight with your title on the line. Do you truly want a worthy competitor, Duke? Do you really want someone to have the guts to step up and challenge you? Let me spell this out as clearly as I can, mate…I am Glory Braddock, a fifteen time former world champion, the woman who beat you last week on Millennium, and I am challenging you to a one on one match for the MWE World Championship.
Braddock nods her head.
Glory Braddock
I know I can beat you. All I need is one opportunity and just like last week, I will take full advantage of that opportunity. I will beat you for a second time and this time become MWE World Champion. All I need is one shot, one opportunity. So if you don’t want to be disappointed, if you want a real fight, then accept my challenge. I promise you that you won’t be disappointed. I will take you to your limits. And God willing I will take your championship. Just name the time and place. Let’s make this match happen.”
Singles Match
Faith Savell VS LunaWe don’t know how Luna rated Faith Savell, but when it comes to in-ring talent, the Valedictorian could be nothing less than a nine. And that’s only because she still has room for improvement. That was how the commentary team spoke before this match, an opinion surely backed up by the stellar performances the Cloud Gate champion has put on since breaking on the MWE stage, and before that in the Academy. The match started with a classic lock up, with Luna immediately shifting into a waistlock and Faith easily getting out of it. The two started jockeying for position and trading holds, and it was Savell who came out on top and took the Star Of The Night down with an arm drag. Faith transitioned into an armbar but the blonde was able to escape before she could fully lock her in and rolled out of the ring, taking a first break. As she came back into the ring, Luna was met by a kick to the head from the young Savell who then proceeded to send her into the ropes with an irish whip. Luna ducked under the Cloud Gate champion’s clothesline and jumped on the middle rope, twisting in mid-air and knocking Faith down with a moonsault body press. Before the champ could get up to her feet she was reached by a big knee to the side of the head that immediately floored her. First pinning predicament attempted by the Star Of The Night and first near fall. Luna didn’t slow down, continuing her assault on Faith relying mostly on her Krav Maga background. Those knee strikes were surely doing a number on the Valedictorian, now forced into the corner and choked by the opponent who viciously compressed her trachea with the sole of her boot. This earned Luna a warning, but Smith didn’t seem to care. She picked Savell up by the hair and delivered another one of her striking combinations before she sent her into the ropes with an Irish whip. On the rebound, Luna leaped over her with a leapfrog and sprinted in the opposite direction, hitting the rope as well and finding herself on the collision course with the Cloud Gate champion. What happened next was a thing of beauty, a perfectly executed Spanish fly that gained her a loud round of applause and another near fall. It took her a while, but eventually Faith found a way to counter Luna’s speed and bring the pace of the match down to one best suited to her. There was a long phase where she kept the former Lockdown champion grounded, transitioning from one submission to the next with fluid movements, staying always one step ahead of her. Then it was suplex time, another display of the Valedictorian’s technical ability. She showed off a few of the throws in her arsenal, a textbook execution of each one of them. She hooked the leg and lifted Luna for a fisherman suplex, holding the bridge to pin her for another count of two. As soon as the blonde stood up, Faith showed that not only she’s a fine submission wrestler with an almost flawless technique, but she possessed some mean kicks as well, clocking Smith with a roundhouse and flooring her. Quickly, she made another cover but once again Luna survived. Faith looked in control, focused on bringing home another prestigious win in her young yet already successful career. But the unexpected is always around the corner, and in this case it had the appearance of Nine van der Hoek. The Frisian Demon still had a score to settle with Luna and she came to collect today. Faith told her to back off but the Dutch wasn’t letting this chance slip. She blasted Faith with a superkick so that this match would get in the record book as another loss for Luna and then jumped on the Star Of The Night with some old fashioned ground and pound. She only landed a few punches and elbows before Luna’s bodyguard West Long rushed to the ring to do his job, lifting Nine in the air and obliterating her with a thunderous powerbomb. WINNER: Faith Savell BY: DQ, 11:41 |
A camera finds Lowri Moss sitting on a crate somewhere backstage, dressed in her ring attire, ready for her forthcoming match. She is sat with her head bowed, but she soon raises it and looks to the camera, a smile on her face.
Lowri Moss:
What’s occurring, Glendale?
That greeting of course elicits a pop from the audience.
Lowri Moss:
Two weeks have passed since I last got to set foot inside an MWE ring, two weeks since I got the payback that I wanted for Olly’s actions at When The Sun Goes Down, and with that all taken care of, now I can move on to other things. I told Paisley Dawn that there’s someone in particular on the roster who I want to have a match with-- someone who I’ve wrestled previously, but not in MWE-- and I’ve begun to think that he and I might actually be in the ring together even sooner than I had anticipated, in one form or another. That’s for another night though, because tonight I have an opponent who I’ve never been in the ring with previously, in the shape of Siobhan Mahoney.
Lowri leans forward, gripping the edge of the crate with her hands.
Lowri Moss:
I think I’m right in saying that this will be Siobhan’s first appearance on Millennium, so I guess I’ll be playing the role of the welcoming committee for my fellow Celt-- although I’m going to be welcoming her to the green brand with a kick or twelve, rather than a mere “hello.”
She then leaps off the crate.
Lowri Moss:
While I’ve never fought Siobhan before, I have been in the ring at least once with one of her cousins, Fraser Flanagan, and from what I’ve seen of Siobhan, she might have an even shorter temper than her cousin does. She certainly seems to love a good scrap, no matter the size of the opponent, and that’s what I’m expecting from her here tonight, especially as we’re the same height as one another… although she’s a bit lighter than me, not quite as hench as I am.
Lowri does an intentionally poor imitation of a bodybuilder performing a most muscular pose.
Lowri Moss:
Seriously though, I know that Siobhan will give as good as she gets, and I also know that she is more than simply a brawler, as she has shown already in the half a dozen months since she made her debut in MWE. In fact, in that debut, she came quite close to winning a thirty man battle royale, something that I know a thing or two about, before then going on to win the MENTV Championship just a couple of months later, so she’s definitely capable of making an impact when an opportunity arises, and a victory tonight against the former Cloud Gate Champion would likely do her no end of good.
She takes a couple of steps forward, towards the camera.
Lowri Moss:
The pressure is probably all on me in this match, almost everyone probably expects me to win it-- which is absolutely fine with me, as that says a lot about how I’m viewed. And while I’m not chasing after a title right now, nor am I after a pound of flesh, that doesn’t mean I’m any less motivated than I would’ve been before now-- I still want to win this match, I plan on winning this match, so whether it’s with a swift kick, or with a roll of the dice, I’ll put Siobhan down for a count of three, and for tonight at least, that’ll be my impact.
Lowri then walks off, out of shot, and the camera cuts away.
Singles Match
Sioban Mahoney VS Lowri MossFirst match on Millennium for Siobhan Mahoney and it’s against one of the best in MWE, and perhaps in the world. Lowri Moss was welcomed by the usual round of cheers. The bell rang and Lowri extended her hand toward Siobhan who quickly accepted the handshake but used this display of sportsmanship to kick the Welsh in the stomach. As Moss doubled over, Siobhan kicked her in the chest and then dropped her down with a hangman neckbreaker. Mahoney was showing a new found aggression, a different attitude from the almost yelding shown in the past. She laid several stomps to the grounded opponent, sitting on her chest when Lowri rolled out of the way and rained down a flurry of forearms to her face. When the referee finally separated them, she yelled something at the former Cloud Gate champion and delivered a final stomp, which earned her a stern reprimand from the referee and a loud round of boos from the fans. Pushing the ref aside and gesturing the fans to shut up, Siobhan then continued her assault, but this time Moss was ready for it and blocked the punch. Keeping hold of the wrist, Lowri twisted the arm and delivered a few hard kicks to the chest and ribcage before switching into a hammerlock and dropping Siobhan on her head with a DDT. Going toe-to-toe with Moss in a striking contest is something only few people can achieve, and Siobhan was not one of them. After barely surviving a switchblade kick at the end of a long sequence, Siobhan realized that as well and wisely opted for a different approach. She stayed on the defensive, dodging those hard kicks and waiting for the opportunity to take Lowri’s leg out with a leg sweep. Mahoney was quick to tie Lowri’s leg up and put the former Cloud Gate champion in her Bogside Knot (elevated cloverleaf). Lowri struggled a bit to escape the submission, finding herself trapped in for longer than she would have liked. But eventually she was able to reach the ropes and force the release. She stomped the canvas a couple of times to shake some feeling back in that leg and test how much damage the painful submission did. Not enough to stop her, but nonetheless that became an easy target for Siobhan who insisted on the right leg with quick kicks and a chop block. The Northern Irish looked to apply the Diabal’s Clutch (ankle lock) but as soon as she grabbed the foot, Lowri quickly rolled on her back and used the other leg to kick herself free. Siobhan made another attempt but this time she got caught with a roll up, from which she barely managed to kick out. The match continued with Lowri forced to defend herself from Siobhan’s attempts at damaging that right leg even further. Though that didn’t mean she refrained from using that same leg to deliver her famous kicks whenever she had the opportunity, surprising Mahoney with a question mark kick, getting another near fall. The impact left Mahoney dazed even after she kicked out, and Lowri exploited this chance to inflict more damage and open the way to the Nos Da (rolling cutter) for the three count. WINNER: Lowri Moss BY: Pinfall (Nos Da), 14:38 |
A faint voice can be heard from somewhere in this house:
“You took one of those friends…”
Shots from a couple of rooms follow; as if someone is trying to find the source for the disembodied voice. The camera moves frantically, and the sound of gasping can be heard from the man holding the camera, no doubt handling the camera and running from room to room should be a daunting task… then the voice again:
“No, you also gained my attention…”
Again the camera runs from room to room, but there’s no body to be found; no source for these voices. The search becomes more and more frantic as the camera closes in on the last few rooms in this house.
“You should have done your research, if you had then you would have known what a revenant is…”
Only three doors are left for the cameraman… in the first two rooms, silence… in the third, a snappy-looking young man awaits. A walking cane on his right hand; his left hand up scratching the back of his head. He turns around revealing a rather confused-looking Gareth Prichard Jr… who breaks the silence by simply saying:
Gareth Prichard Jr:
I think I heard something… Did you?
He then gestures with his left hand as if to say “don’t worry about it” and continues.
Gareth Prichard Jr:
I guess it must’ve been my imagination. See, lately, I’ve been hearing lots of noises coming from bottom dwellers who think of themselves more than simple rats scavenging for a spot that doesn’t belong to them. Nothing new, I suppose. After all, I’ve been singing the same song for the past few months and it doesn’t seem as if anyone has noticed.
Gareth rolls his eyes before taking a deep breath and continuing his diatribe.
Gareth Prichard Jr:
It’s as if I’ve been preaching to the choir and my thinking isn’t obvious to them. See, I don’t care about your vendettas or personal revenge or whatever. I don’t care about any of you, as a matter of fact. You never say anything new, so I don’t need to waste my time addressing you. Because time is money and all of that junk. Yet, time and again you assholes manage to get a hold of someone, like this poor chap here…
Gareth gestures to the cameraman behind the scenes as he continues.
Gareth Prichard Jr:
And send them my way because you NEED me to speak. I don’t get it, I’m willingly giving my allotted time to ANYONE else on the roster. I don’t care to speak and yet… here I am. Being begged upon to address some moron who doesn’t understand the meaning of… “I DON’T CARE”
Gareth sighs and rests both of his hands on the cane before looking back up and continuing.
Gareth Prichard Jr:
Henri… I see you have some trouble with understanding stuff. Let me make it as clear as if you were a kindergarten kid… The reason I did what I did to your so-called ‘friend’... wasn’t because I WANTED or NEEDED my name etched as the man who took her out. She just was THERE. I had a briefcase I had to get rid of, and she just so happened to be the one holding the belt at the time. If it was you, I would’ve done the same… but don’t feel special, just yet. See, this is just a… let’s call it… happy coincidence. She is out and I got something out of it. Furthermore, what I got wasn’t the fact I took her out… no, Henri… what I took out was the fact that now I’m above that belt.
All who carry that belt after her will have the thought of ME in the back of their mind. Because they didn’t beat ME… and they know I would’ve had that title… if I CARED ENOUGH… but I don’t.
Prichard moves closer to the camera and shrugs as he lets out a sigh.
Gareth Prichard Jr:
But I guess your brain won’t process that and think that I’m just stalling… and to be fair, I might as well because I’d love to see what you do. Considering the only way you could -quote- harm -unquote- me is by attacking someone who is more than capable of crushing your dreams worse than a Dalek… but alas, since I’m here. I’ll just let you know, your hubris and eagerness I’ve seen elsewhere and they will cost you in the end. But again… if you want to inflict self-harm by stepping against me… I DON’T CARE.
Tag Team Match
A Tribe Called Conquest (Chantelle & Dante Cutler) VS Tank Steiner & Devon Slayton
The tension reached its peak when all four competitors were in the ring. Tank could barely hold back his team partner eager to get his pound of flesh for what the Tribe did to him a couple of weeks ago on Riot. Dante and Chantelle, from their corner, kept taunting Devon, looking to get deeper under his skin. A possibly dangerous move, but one that surely threw him out of his game as the opening moments of the match clearly showed. He charged head first toward Chantell, who easily avoided him and sent him crashing into the Tribe’s corner. She started stomping at him and stepped with both feet on his chest, holding on the ropes to lift herself in a handstand in the corner. From that position she fell with a dropkick, and in that moment Dante made the tag. The multi time world champion added a few stomps of his own before picking up the dazed opponent and hitting a suplex. Tank saw the difficult moment his partner was going through and began cheering for him, inviting the fans to do the same. This seemed to fuel Slayton who began to show some fight, answering to every blow Dante threw with one of his own. This back and forth went on for half a minute, igniting the fans even further. And as their cheers grew, so did the intensity in Devon’s strikes. Slowly but steadily, he gained ground and eventually floored Dante with the Black Flame (high-impact short-range lariat). Finally the tag was made and Herr Steiner entered the ring, welcomed by the roar of the fans. Tank immediately greeted Cutler with his skin-tearing chops, each one of them echoing inside the Gila River Arena and followed by the characteristic “WOOOOOOO” of the Arizona fans. For the following couple of minutes Cutler went through the Tank treatment, getting tossed around by the Austrian’s suplex machines and finding himself on the receiving end of his hard strikes. But the Chief found the opening he needed and planted the big man on his head with a ddt, Tank got up immediately, not giving Dante the time to tag Chantelle in but a shotgun dropkick from Cutler sent him back on his ass. A double tag brought Chantelle and Devon back in the match, this time though the veteran didn’t make the mistake he did in the opening moments and quickly took control, lifting the woman in a vertical suplex and dropping her down with a cutter for the Cromwell Invocation. Cutler was there to save his partner this time, but things weren’t looking too good for The Tribe. That was when Commas appeared on the stage and began to walk down, providing the distraction that allowed Chantell to roll Devon up for a flash pin. This was as close as it could get to a three, but Slayton kicked out at the last moment. More turmoil broke out when a pissed off Dusty Douglas joined the rest of them. Clearly out for blood, the Murder Train didn’t listen to Tank asking him to stand back and pointed straight at Oxford. The two of them began trading blows, Oxford, in an attempt to escape those heavy blows, rolled inside the ring. Dusty followed him in there, and eventually everyone was drawn into the fight, leaving the ref no choice but to call this a No Contest. WINNER: // BY: No Contest, 16:18 |
Pre-recorded…
Voiceover/Narrator
The following has been paid for by Collins Incorporated, reminding you to be absolutely FABULOUS!
Gold sparkles rain down from the heavens as a lovely soothing piano chord starts to play in the background. The scene opens in a luxurious living room area, specifically in front of an expensive marble fireplace. Summer Collins enters from stage right, dressed in a tight, form fitting forest green cocktail dress. Her best friend and tag team partner, “The Archangel” Jessica Lasiewicz, enters the scene from stage left. She is wearing a tight, form fitting red cocktail dress. The Fabulous duo have confident smirks upon their faces.
Summer Collins
You know Jess, I have heard people say some really dumb stuff in my time.
Jessica Lasiewicz
You mean like when people say that they are fans of the North Carolina Tar Heels? Because that really is a dumbass thing to say.
Summer Collins
Worse. Apparently there are a couple of idiots who think that they split up the two of us, they think that they split up Fabulous.
Jessica stares at Summer for a few moments. Then she starts bursting into laughter. Summer follows suit and the two laugh for a few moments before Summer continues.
Summer Collins
A little advice from me to Karen and Olly, educate yourselves before talking crap on social media and proving yourselves to be utter fools. Jess and I never split up. Not once did we ever stop being a tag team. Sure, we have been booked as singles competitors in MWE, but not one time did we cease to be a tag team. In Global Championship Wrestling we are still one of the most dominant tag teams in their division. In GCW we pick up tag team victory week in and week out. We never split up, we never stopped teaming. We just happened to get booked as singles competitors in MWE.
Jessica Lasiewicz
And that’s fine with us. You know why? We’re not just one trick ponies. Unlike the pair of you whose only claim to fame is tag team success, Summer and I have notable achievements across the board. Our reputation as a great tag team is known. Remember Pro-Wrestling Frontier? Summer was one of the longest reigning PWF Commonwealth Champions in history. And me? I am a two time WORLD CHAMPION. So this whole singles scene isn’t new to us. We have been there, we have done that. Tag team wrestling…been there, done that. Can we do both? You damn right we can. Because we are that damn good. Did we request it from management? No, but we don’t mind it because we are multi-faceted when it comes to wrestling.
Summer Collins
And we sure as hell didn’t start as singles competitors in MWE because of you two idiots. We don’t make the matches. We fight whoever management puts in front of us; it is as simple as that. And as I already spelled it out for you earlier, if you weren’t paying attention, we never stopped being a tag team. While we were competing as individuals here in MWE, we were competing as a tag team in GCW. We have been keeping up our practice, our chemistry has never been better. Quite frankly, we haven’t lost a beat. We have been very active as a tag team since June and we have only been beaten once. Do your homework and you might learn something.
Lasiewicz nods her head.
Jessica Lasiewicz
Now your mouth has written a check your ass can’t cash. You talked a big game about how great you are; well now you have to put up or shut up on Millennium when you defend those MWE World Tag Team Championships against me and Summer. And you know what kind of a team me and Summer are?
Summer Collins
Fabulous?
Jessica Lasiewicz
Yes, that. But besides that we are also tough. We prove how great we are not simply by crowing about it to anyone who will listen but by kicking ass inside the ring week in and week out. We prove our toughness by facing the best tag teams and beating them. And even the few times we lose, we still make damn sure that they know they have been in a war. When we were last champions, we held the MWE and GCW Tag Team Championships at the same damn time. Yet you say when we held the belts the division was nothing, meaningless, crap? I’ll tell you the truth right here and now, and the truth is that the division has become a joke since the two of you got the titles. Summer and I never needed cheap ass disqualifications to retain the titles, we never needed outside interference to retain the titles, and yet you two can’t seem to do a damn thing on your own. You can’t win a damn match without help.
Summer Collins
You are lame. Pathetic. The laziest human beings I have ever met in my entire life. I will give credit where credit is due, you have been good enough to win and keep the belts this long. But you run your mouths, and now Jess and I are going to shut your damn mouths by kicking your asses all over the arena. The championships are on the line, so I fully expect you to pull out any and every cheap tricks and shenanigans you can think of to keep the belts. We’re fine with that. This isn’t about the championships for us. This could be a non-title match as far as we’re concerned. This is about one thing and one thing only…beating some respect into you.
Jessica Lasiewicz
I would end this by saying Fabulous is back, but that would be wrong because the fact is Fabulous has gone nowhere. It is going nowhere. We want to be a tag team, we want to own this division, and if tonight is the night our domination begins again then so be it. But one thing I can say is that shutting you up will be absolutely FABULOUS!
MWE Tag Team Championship Match
K2O © VS Fabulous
Peyton Holland: “This is it, the MWE tag team titles are on the line in tonight’s main event. K2O versus Fabulous!” Ambra Monroe: “As the old saying goes, Olly made this bed and now K2O must lie in.” Peyton Holland: “Are you referring to one of his tirades about how they allegedly are the best tag team to have ever graced a wrestling ring?” Ambra Monroe: “And how Jessica and Summer allegedly started pursuing a singles career because they fear them. But Fabulous are still around, and ready to end one of the most controversial reigns in the company’s history.” The match started with Olly and Summer in the ring. They went right at one another to end up in a grapple in the center of the ring for one brief second before the tag champion raised his knee and drove it in the opponent’s mid section. He then fired off some punches to Collins’ face, following with an irish whip. Karen kicked Summer in the back as she hit the ropes and the boos immediately began to rain down from the very vocal capacity crowd. Peyton Holland: “Classic K2O.” Ambra Monroe: “You may not like their cheap methods, but they execute them like no one else. Look at this!” While the official was asking Karen not to get involved unless a tag was made, Olly grabbed Summer by her hair and pulled her up, putting her head in a front facelock and dropping on the mat with a ddt. After Summer kicked out, Olly applied an abdominal stretch on her near the ropes, allowing Karen to make the tag. Eldon entered through the ropes and began kicking Collins in the midsection while Olly kept the old applied. Out of nowhere came Lasiewicz to hit Olly with a jumping forearm to the back of the head, freeing her partner. This backfired as, while the ref pushed the Archangel back in her corner, K2O could continue the two on one assault behind his back with a furious series of stomps. Jessica tried to reach them and interrupt this, or at least diverge the ref’s attention on what was happening behind him. But the rookie referee’s focus remained on Lasiewicz, giving more time to the tag champions to double team Summer with a backbreaker from Olly followed by a second rope legdrop from Karen. Eldon called the ref and made the cover while Olly left the ring smirking, already feeling the win in his pocket. But as soon as the official got in position to make the count, Jessica broke the pinning predicament. Ambra Monroe: “Looks like Fabulous is fighting fire with fire.” Peyton Holland: “Well, if the champions aren’t playing by the rules, why would they? It’s a strategy that might actually work..” Ambra Monroe: “Or a recipe for disaster. A Disqualification would mean that K2O keeps their titles, and we already saw that they have no problems intentionally getting one to hold on the belts a little longer.” The referee pushed Jessica towards her corner, this time keeping an eye on Olly who remained in position. Summer got back to her feet to see Karen ready to kick her in the stomach. She blocked the kick, dodged the following punch by slightly bending backwards and took Karen down with a dragon screw leg whip. Summer headed toward Jessica’s stretched out arm to make the tag but Karen grabbed her foot and tripped her over. Once again Collins picked herself up and connected a big enziguri, knocking down the tag champion and finally giving the tag to Jessica. First order of business was to knock Olly off the apron with the Our Lady Peace, the running bicycle kick adopted by Olly’s team leader back in the Academy, Lady Magdalena. She then turned to meet Karen with a boot to the gut and a roundhouse kick to the head, followed by a curb stomp. She hooked the leg for a cover but Olly came back just in time to break it up. Peyton Holland: “Yeah, Jessica is not messing around tonight.” Ambra Monroe: “There’s a reason why Fabulous are one of the most accomplished and respected teams in wrestling today. Olly and Karen are learning it today.” Jessica’s fury didn’t seem to be dying down anytime soon. She kept throwing wild kids at Karen who tried to defend herself. All her efforts were in vain though as she got caught by a jumping knee that left her stunned. Jessica charged in with a full head of steam but Eldon was able to catch her and plant her into the canvas with a spinebuster. And she slowly made the way to her ring, where Olly slapped her hand and entered the ring. His style of offense, a basic and effective combination of power moves and direct strikes was enough to keep control and score a near fall with a piledriver. But when Jessica made the tag after ducking the ripcord lariat attempt and taking him down with a backstabber, the momentum switched once again. For four minutes Fabulous did what they can do best, working like a perfectly oiled machine to wear the former Academy student down. Quick tags, some of their combined maneuvers, tag team wrestling at its finest to remind everyone that they can still set the bar for everyone. Olly even survived the Golden Kiss Of Death, the running bicycle knee/stunner combination. The kid was resilient, you have to give him credit for that. But how long could he resist? How much more could he whitstand? Karen must have been asking herself the same question as she suddenly entered the ring to free Olly from a suplex attempt. Summer joined in to even the playing field and chaos ensued once again. It was in situations like this where someone like Olly thrived, reaching for Karen’s purse and slamming it on Jessica’s skull as the referee’s attention was drawn on Collins and Eldon fighting. Olly then lifted her over his shoulders and connected his Born To Lose, making the cover for another cheap win while his partner kept Summer at bay.
