Just as at Heroes & Cons, the opening match of the show is preceded by a pre-recorded video featuring Selina Metzger. Stood backstage somewhere at Bridgestone Arena, dressed in her ring attire and a t-shirt, and again filming herself on her smartphone, Selina flashes a smile.
Selina Metzger
Here we are then. The first show in our new timeslot; I guess Millennium Mondays is better for the company’s marketing department than Millennium Saturdays - alliteration, and all that. Not that it’s any of my concern.
Selina gives a nonchalant shrug.
Selina Metzger
However, while the day of the week may have changed, something that hasn’t changed since the last show is that once again, Millennium is starting the night off strong - literally - by having Der Übermensch up first.
Her smile broadens.
Selina Metzger
My start to life here in Millennium couldn’t have gone much better so far, with three wins from three matches, so obviously I’m hoping that the move from Saturdays to Mondays isn’t going to have a negative effect on my performance. Not that it should.
She takes a breath, before continuing.
Selina Metzger
My opponent tonight is Jacob Figgins, another veteran who has a sizeable list of accomplishments to their name - kind of like Christina Rose. Or is it Crystal Hilton now? I’m not sure - me beating her twice seems to have caused her to have an identity crisis.
The smile on her face changes to resemble more of a smirk.
Selina Metzger
Coincidentally, I believe I’m right in saying that the last victory that Jacob Figgins achieved in a Millennium ring, apart from a couple of wins in pre-show matches, was also against Christina Rose. Tonight though, I see him suffering the same fate that each of my opponents in Millennium so far have been on the receiving end of.
Selina raises her left hand, to again show off her “Ruthless” and “GAME OVER” tattoos, on the sides of her middle finger and ring finger respectively.
Selina Metzger
Because although it may now be Monday, not Saturday, it’s going to be a case of different day, same Selina, and same result.
She then clenches her hand into a fist, before flexing her left bicep, and with a look of confidence on her face, the video comes to an end.

MILLENNIUM XVII: Lock and Load
Live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN
Monday, October 8, 2018
The show comes to life panning over pyrotechnic display on the Millennium Wrestling stage: The large metallic M hanging over the stage itself, with wrestlers emerging from beneath the heavy spiked. "Waking Lions" by Pop Evil blasts through the arena, pumping up the audience in attendance. The cameras pan around the arena, showcasing the sold-out crowd, focusing in on a few of the fan-made signs:
"Grace van BITCH" “Official Millennium Britty Committee” “SAKI’S GONNA KILL YOU” “Came Here to See D’Lo” “It’s HAWK SEASON” “WHAT SADISTIC FUCK PUTS MEL AND RORI ON A TEAM” “We Want the Cruise Ship” “I Like Turtles” “MONDAY IS MILLENNIUM” “#HaveMyBabies”
The show cuts to the broadcast table.
Bea Torres: “Hello and welcome to Millennium!”
Jared Idol: “New start time, new show day, and we’re coming out of Heroes & Cons, where… well, a lot of things happened!”
Bea Torres: “YESSSS. Jennifer Yang WON!”
Jared Idol: “The Steel Cage Scramble was a grueling match and we saw the twisted mind of Jason Hawk at work, lashing out against Gray Malone… but it was Grace van Beek and Jennifer Yang who got into the cage, and it was Yang herself holding the Millennium Championship when the dust settled.”
Bea Torres: “Add to that: Britt Kane eked out a victory over a VERY impressive Tiffany Tompkins!”
Jared Idol: “And of course let’s not forget: We have a new championship!”
Bea Torres: “Empire Pro’s old Extreme Championship has re-emerged, and the newest champion in its impressive lineage is our very own Saki!”
Jared Idol: “Can we get a replay of the championship crowning? The look of discomfort on Chuck’s face brings me joy.”
Bea Torres: “FOCUS. Tonight, all four champions are in action, when the Millennium and the Lockdown Champions take on the Cloud Gate and Extreme champions in tag team action!”
Jared Idol: “And a meeting of the minds when Chuck Matthews and Grace van Beek finally meet face to face. Maybe we’ll get an end to this war in Millennium.”
Bea Torres: “AND! Tiffany, Kace, and Vivi all in action tonight, in a match that our boss, as he so often does, says will hold ‘big implications.’”
Jared Idol: “So… a title match of some kind.”
Bea Torres: “That DOES seem to be the trend.”
Jared Idol: “Let’s get the show rolling!”
Christopher Kane
You know, with no disrespect intended, when I heard I was going against Sean Libby tonight I had to look up to see who that was.
Kane comes into the frame backstage with a frown on his face while clad in his gear.
Christopher Kane
I haven’t heard his voice, hasn’t been on social media, wasn’t at Heroes and Cons and I didn’t know he was still employed. Again, not meaning any disrespect Sean, but you’re like a ghost here in Millennium. And being a ghost in this professional where being visible is vital, not really a good thing.
He sighs and leans against the wall.
Christopher Kane
While some don’t like me for their reasons and I can understand their point of view, people at least know who I am, Sean. They didn’t need to hit up Wikipedia to find out who they were facing because they’ve been on pre-shows for the past couple of months. You’re probably looking at this as a big chance, your shot to keep getting on the main shows, but you know something.
Kane scratches his head while thinking of how to word what he’s saying next.
Christopher Kane
I’m coming off a show where I bested a talented wrestler and got into the main event with a crack at the Millennium Title, my goal in this company. Wrestling you, Sean, while I’m sure we will have a great match, I kinda need to, you know, beat you to prove a point. To show people that Heroes and Cons was no fluke, that pinning Vivi and going onto that main event wasn’t just a one night thing.
Slight pause.
Christopher Kane
I have to beat you tonight, Sean, to prove that I can be a top guy in this company. I have to send you back down to the pre-show where you can dance for the people, get them behind you and then do your silly move. I take this sport seriously, Sean, and when I look at you, I don’t get that same feeling.
Another pause.
Christopher Kane
I have to surpass some things in this sport that my dad, my uncle, and a few others have done because it’s a career of chasing ghosts for me. One of the three people that had a hand in training me are dead. I’m am this sport’s middle child, and that’s not good for you. Tonight, Sean Libby, you’re gonna be in my sights and when this elbow…
He smacks his padded right elbow.
Christopher Kane
To quote the sage RZA… survey says, you’re dead.
Christopher gunshots the camera before leaving.
Singles Match
Christopher Kane VS Sean LibbyChris was not about to take it easy on the fighting Irishman. From the opening bell, he was on top of Sean, raining into him with heavy punches, showing off more of what he’d been doing in recent weeks: Abandoning his quicker, flashier style for a heavier, more grounded one. Sean was not about to be walked over though, and as he stumbled back towards the ropes and Chris moved in to continue the attack, Libby fired off a roundhouse that collided with Kane’s skull, rocking him. Sean charged in, taking him to the mat with a hurricanrana. Chris was quick to his feet and turned to see Sean soaring at him again, this time for a crossbody. Chris ducked it. Sean hit the mat, rolling across the ring. Immediately, he was on his feet, and the two faced each other. The two tied up. Chris was able to overpower the high-flyer, and took him to the mat with a snap suplex. He went for a quick cover. One… Sean kicked out. Sean was back to a standing position. Chris pulled him in again. Sean twisted the wrist, escaping the hold, and took Chris to the mat with a Russian legsweep. This time, it was Libby with the cover. One… Kane powered out. Sean brought him to his feet, drilling a fist to the top of Kane’s head. Kane stepped back. As Sean went to deliver another shot, Kane sent a chop up, hitting Sean in the throat. Sean stumbled, clutching his neck and choking. Kane raced in, tackling Sean to the mat, and hammering away with heavy punches. He retreated to the ropes, finding his home on the top of the turnbuckle. He dove off, driving a nasty elbow straight to Sean’s sternum. He rested easy for a moment, keeping his elbow on the chest for the pinfall. One… two… Sean kicked out. The match continued, with Sean surprising a lot of people in the Millennium crowd as he was able to hold his own with Kane… although, as Bea and Jared were quick to point out, Sean often had hard-fought battles on Millennium’s pre-show, in spite of his losing record. Still, Kane seemed to grow more frustrated as Sean’s tenacity shone through, refusing to go down. When the match hit the ten-minute mark, Sean’s high-octane offense and speedy style began to really take it’s toll. Sean was slowing down, while Chris’s stamina seemed as good as ever, and Kane quickly gained control of the match. He threw Libby to the ropes. Libby came back into a clothesline that damn near turned him inside-out! He rolled under the ropes, collapsing on the concrete floor. Chris gritted his teeth, waiting for Sean to enter as the referee began to count him out. Sean got to his feet, raising his hands in surrender. He retreated up the ramp, allowing the referee to hit the ten-count, much to the fans’, and Chris’s, disappointment. WINNER: Christopher Kane BY: Countout, 11:19 |
Jared Idol: “Uh…. did Sean call it quits?”
Bea Torres: “Chris doesn’t look happy about that.”
Jared Idol: “He came here tonight looking to make a statement. Statement wasn’t made though, Sean bailed out instead!”
Chris slides from the ring, giving chase to Sean, who races backstage, disappearing behind the curtain.
Chuck Matthews sits in his office, reading over a few pages. There’s a knock at the door.
Chuck Matthews
It’s open.
The door creaks open and Selina Metzger enters, closing the door behind her.
Selina Metzger
You asked to see me?
Chuck smiles.
Chuck Matthews
Just the woman I needed to see. Take a seat.
Selina frowns.
Selina Metzger
I’m alright.
Chuck pauses a moment, but doesn’t argue.
Chuck Matthews
So… here’s the thing. With Kasey Summers needing to take an emergency leave, some matches got shuffled around and yours wound up as the pre-show match. I apologize.
She shrugs.
Selina Metzger
It happens.
Chuck Matthews
Well… yes, it does, but it shouldn’t. And, as I’m sure you’ve kept careful track of, you’ve had a good run in your start here in Millennium.
Haven’t lost yet.
Chuck Matthews
Quite a feat. So… next week, we celebrate our one-year mark. So I’d like to put you higher up. Give us a real showcase of a match.
Selina Metzger
Fine by me.
Chuck Matthews
Not quite finished. I’ve got something brewing… some big plan in the works. Important opportunities, championship implications, things of that nature. Win next week, and it’ll mean good things for you in the very near future. How’s that?
She nods, a small smile coming to her face.
Selina Metzger
Just tell me who to fight, and I’ll be there.
Chuck claps his hands with a wide smile.
Chuck Matthews
That’s what I like to hear! We’ll discuss this more next week.
She turns to leave.
Chuck Matthews
And congratulations on the win tonight.
Sean Libby is thrown into the wall and falls to the floor. Chris Kane stands over him, looking livid. Sean holds his hands in surrender.
Sean Libby
Wait!
Kane pauses for a moment, glaring at Libby. Sean slowly gets to his feet.
Sean Libby
You know why I left? Really?
Chris Kane
Because you’re a coward.
Sean Libby
Because we shouldn’t be fighting each other!
Chris narrows his eyes. Sean shakes his head, motioning for Chris to hear him out.
Sean Libby
Look… since I came into Millennium, I’ve been on the pre-show. I’m out of sight. I’m away from the spotlight. I’ve been fighting, week in and week out, just to try and get noticed, and you know who continues to ignore me?
Chris frowns.
Sean Libby
We have a common enemy. You know who I’m talking about.
Chris’s face remains expressionless.
Christopher Kane
I thought you and Matthews had history.
Sean Libby
And clearly, that means nothing to him. You know who he is. You know HOW he is. Whatever suits his needs, right? If you’re not in his good graces, he punishes you for it, and you know he’s soooo good at doing it in a way that he can play innocent if you confront him about it.
Chris pauses. Slowly, he nods.
Sean Libby
I’m sorry I ruined the match. Really. But this is bigger than that. You know if you want to hurt a guy like Chuck Matthews-
Chris nods.
Christopher Kane
You attack his company.
Sean Libby
It’s what van Beek has been doing for weeks. Chaos. Disorder. He wants to be in control of everything… so I’m causing a disruption. Anything to get noticed, right?
Kane scoffs.
Christopher Kane
Yeah, yeah… fine. But if you EVER run away from a match with me again-
Sean smiles.
Sean Libby
Don’t worry about me. I have more work to do tonight.
He scurries off, leaving Kane standing, scratching his chin in thought.
Black Skinhead by Kanye West blasts throughout the area and D’Angelo Blackwell bursts through the curtain, throwing his arms in the air. He is wearing his ring gear along with a black hoodie as he makes his way down the ramp, high fiving the fans along the way. He slides into the ring, retrieving a microphone and taking centre stage!
D’Angelo Blackwell
Yooo, how’s everyone doin tonight? I mean y’all at a Millennium show, so y’all must be feeling good! Ya boy is in the ring, so y’all must be feeling good.
Blackwell soaks in the fans response, followed by continuing to speak.
D’Angelo Blackwell
I’m just playin! Forreal though, it’s good to be out here. I’ll admit that I ain’t to impressed with my actions in Millennium thus far. I started off strong with some big wins and almost claimed the Millennium Championship, but I’ve had some bumps along the way, I’ve had some DQ bullshit happen, some fights cancelled, and shit it ain’t been steady. I’m here to make an impact and do damage, I ain’t done that yet. I just had the match of my life for Evolution Pro, beating one of the best in Misha LeCavlier, and I am making a huge impact over there, but here in Millennium, I am yet to have my groundbreaking moment.
Blackwell runs his hands across his head, pausing for a moment.
D’Angelo Blackwell
You could say I had that moment against Yang, but I didn’t feel it. I know I’m better then what I’m putting out and things need to change. It all starts tonight, Sephora. I didn’t know much about her before the announcement, but, maaan. She another one of the trash talking, mean girls. I ain’t phased. She talking bout how she gonna slam me with a chair and lose by DQ? I mean, come on. What type of dumbass shit is that? Take this L then and move on.
Blackwell makes a confused face, followed by smirking.
D’Angelo Blackwell
It’s time for me to step up, I’ve proved everywhere that I go, that I am an untouchable, main eventer superstar. It’s time that I fill my role and climb to the top, taking the spot I work so damn hard for. Be ready for it y’all.
Blackwell tosses the mic aside and waits for Sephora to enter.
Singles Match
D'Angelo Blackwell VS Sephora EastwickWith rules in place and disqualifications in effect, Sephora was not in her element, and D’Angelo Blackwell knew it. It was clear from the start who was at the advantage, and D’lo used the early-going to showcase the raw wrestling ability that he’d been denied at the last show. He came into the match with a fire he hadn’t shown, and Jared was quick to point out that with all his issues as of late with Nessa Wall, it seemed that Blackwell had been held down and put in situations where he wasn’t able to fully showcase his skills. That changed here. In a match where raw wrestling ability and mat technique was key, Sephora struggled; her expertise was in street brawls. When she got to the bottom rope to break a leglock from D’Angelo, she found the opening she needed. She was quick on the attack, hammering fists into Blackwell that took him by surprise. There was little finesse or grace in her movements: Sephora seemed determined to lay into Blackwell and inflict as much damage as possible. She sent hard kicks directly into his shins, sent hard bare-fisted punches to his cheeks and jaws, doing just as much damage to her own limbs as bone collided with bone. Blackwell got his hands up as he retreated to the corner. The referee stepped in, trying to break them up. Sephora shoved him aside, diving onto him to continue the onslaught. She was up on the second rope, drilling punch after punch into D’Angelo’s head. He managed to get underneath her, grabbing her in a powerbomb position. He ran forward, dropping her hard in the center of the ring. Still a bit dazed, he found it in him to drop for the pin. One… two… shoulder up! From there, D’Angelo started to pick up momentum again. A few key slams and near-fall attempts was enough to keep Sephora off-base and prevent her from another strong flurry of offense. She was able to land a few fortunate kicks that seemed to halt Blackwell, if only for a moment, but D’lo was fast to catch his bearings, using his instincts and his experience to bounce back into the match. As Seph tried to fight back, D’Angelo caught her and took her down with the Dark Age, bringing an end to the bout. WINNER: D’Angelo Blackwell BY: Pinfall, 9:25 |
Jared Idol: “D’lo gets the win!”
Bea Torres: “You know, he took the fight to Jennifer Yang just a few weeks ago. You have to wonder how long before he gets another crack.”
Jared Idol: “Pound for pound, he’s one of Millennium’s best talents. He nearly BEAT Jennifer Yang in that match, and if it weren’t for Nessa Wall, he might be Millennium Champion himself.”
Bea Torres: “We’ll see what happens next.”
D’Angelo celebrates his victory, nodding his respect to Sephora as the show cuts backstage.
The cameras cut to the back where Melissa Reeves is seen walking around. She’s wearing her ring attire, with an Aurora Jansen t-shirt over the top. Later tonight of course, she’s got a tag team match with Aurora on her side and it’s likely she’s looking for her. Melissa pauses at the lockers, no Aurora. She’s looking at her phone, when it chimes to tell her she’s got a text. The camera zooms in and sees:
ROOM A, BY THE LOADING DOCKS
Interesting. The cameras follow her down the hallways where she greets a few workers, making sure she’s on the right track. Eventually she gets to the door marked “A” and knocks once before she opens it. The camera keeps with her as the door swings open and to no one’s possible surprise Aurora’s set up a nice cozy spot for herself. Along one wall is a big flat screen TV, a low table in front of it holds snacks and while Aurora is already in her gear, she’s sitting next to her friends, and on the screen in gloriously violent color is an old school Mortal Kombat game. Her friend Aubrey J Parker is laughing as they spar with Johnny Cage and Scorpion, and of course they’re shouting the catch phrases.
After the inevitable FATALITY Aurora hands off her controller so she can turn on the little sofa they’ve dragged in here and look at Melissa.
Aurora
There you are.
Melissa Reeves
Here I am.
A bit of a laugh, and Aurora indicates the snacks as Nina Stokes brings up Sub Zero and she and Aubrey have a bit of a Ninja Off.
Aurora
I think we’re ready for tonight, as ready as can be. I mean really we’ve got a degenerate that brags on working hurt like that’ll keep either of us from knocking his dick in the dirt. I hate to see what Jason Hawk has come to, he used to be a fun watch in a match. But if he thinks I’m going to just let him whip either of us with a janky second hand store cat o’nine tails, I’ve got no hesitation in teaching him what happens to people who speak before they think and act like a damn fool.
Aurora laughs.
Aurora
There I go talking shit again.
Reeves chuckles and nods.
Melissa Reeves
You? Surely not.
A quick smile.
Melissa Reeves
I never knew him before, so I can only go off what I see now. You’re not wrong though. Then there’s Gray. He’s dangerous, sure, but he’s so busy trying to be unhinged that he isolates himself. He tries so hard to be badass that he ends up looking a dumbass. He’s challenged me a few times before, actually, but this match will be a first.
Aurora smirks lightly, pausing to turn her head as Nina’s Sub Zero gets the first kill on Aubrey’s Scorpion. A small huff of breath and she turns back to Melissa.
Aurora
Gray would be dangerous if he wasn’t already half dead in body and all dead in soul.
She holds up a hand and makes a fist.
Aurora
He’s one of them, you see. There’s a big nasty hole inside him that he can’t fill and his defective brain thinks if he just hurts enough people someone will either fix him or kill him off. He’s the next in line to be the headliner on a “Where are they now” show on some obscure cable network. He wins just enough, to think he’s still something.
A soft laugh as she is handed a bottle of water by one of the ladies and she rolls it between her palms.
Aurora
If they don’t knock each other out when their egos smack into each other getting into the ring, we might have us a match on our hands.
Melissa Reeves
One can hope.
She laughs and sighs, looking around a little at the others nearby.
Melissa Reeves
I mean, I came here for a challenge. I came here to compete. This match isn’t really the most satisfactory in terms of opposition, but at least we get to team up. In that respect I’m actually quite excited.
Aurora smiles at her and gestures at one of the empty chairs near the table.
Aurora
Absolutely. This is the first time we’ve gotten to do this, just a straight up tag match. We’ve got a bit of time if you want to go over some things about Jason or Gray… or we can run us a bit of an MK tourney until it’s time to go out.
Melissa grins and looks at the TV screen.
Melissa Reeves
You want to lose to me, huh?
She nods.
Melissa Reeves
Okay, you’re on.
Aurora grins back as the cameras cut away elsewhere, the laughter of the four women the last thing heard.
Bea and Jared are at their table, looking solemn.
Jared Idol: “Earlier tonight, we saw a disgusting attack that has left one of our own competitors critically hurt.”
Bea Torres: “What we’re about to show is graphic, and we advise that younger viewers look away.”
The screen shows a replay from the pre-show.
After a hard-fought match against Catriona MacKenzie and Yona Blake, Drakkon is laying exhausted in the ring. He can barely get back to his feet as he drags his body that feels so heavy like it never had before. The fans start cheering him on as he struggles to get back to his feet. The applause seems to help as he grabs the top rope and pulls himself back to his feet. But the match takes it tool as he still has to lean onto the top rope to stay up. Almost symbolically the fans get to their feet to cheer and give Drakkon the applause he deserves after such a great match. The applause helps as he gets back to her feet and limps to the middle of the ring to soak in the ovation from the crowd. He is hurt but it doesn’t matter as the only thing he feels is the pride from a hard-fought match. Drakkon raises his arms both in appreciation of the fans and in the pure joy of victory. The fans react in kind and cheer so loud that they can’t even hear themselves anymore.
Bea Torres: “Show some love for our pre-show stars!”
Jared Idol: “These two guys don’t win much, but it takes a lot of talent just to make it onto the Millennium roster; don’t discredit these guys. These fans LOVE our opening acts, sometimes almost as much as our main show stars.”
Suddenly the lights start to flicker, and some silent violins can be heard. The reaction from the fans is very mixed. Some get excited, some get nervous, but none of them know what to expect. Drakkon looks confused as well.
Jared Idol: “This isn’t part of the show…”
“Hold me close, don’ let, watch me” gets repeated over and over again as a man steps onto the stage. He is wearing a black piece that covers most of his face. If his dashing blue eyes weren’t enough to reveal his identity than it was the t-shirt which reads “Fuck. You. All.” He is also wearing a black robe with a silver and red stripe running down it. On the back of it there is a text that reads “His Dying Majesty.” With that he also carries a staff. On top of it there is a crown with broken wings shooting out from its sides. Jason is also wearing a crown himself: A black crown with a single blood red jewel in the middle of it.
Jared Idol: “That’s Jason Hawk...Or at least that used to be him. He looks nothing like the man we’ve gotten used to over the past few months.”
Bea Torres: “That jewel is really nice though.”
Slowly, Jason Hawk walks down the ramp as the lights continue to flicker in such a pace so that every time Jason moves it looks like he just glides through the air. All while the same phrase gets repeated over and over again.
Bae Torres: “Uhhhh... I guess he did warn us.”
Jared Idol: “Look at Drakkon. He is ready. He’s not done fighting yet.”
Drakkon readies himself for whatever Jason has planned. Jason stops in front of the ring at stares straight at Drakkon. As he walks up the steps and gets through the ropes he never breaks his gaze. The two meet in the middle of the ring. Drakkon is mouthing something to Jason, urging him to bring whatever he got. Jason stays silent. His ice-cold stare never strays away from Drakkon as he removes the piece from his face. Drakkon keeps running his mouth motioning for Jason to do whatever he has planned. Out of nowhere Jason suddenly spits in his face. Drakkon takes a few steps back and just like an animal Jason attacks. He tackles Drakkon to the ground and punches start raining over him.
Jared Idol: “Drakkon can’t defend himself!”
Bea Torres: “What is Jason Hawk doing?”
Jason gets off Drakkon and grabs him by the hair. Jason drags him across the ring and places his head on the bottom rope. “I am so sorry” he says as he forces his mouth around the bottom rope. “This isn’t your fault.” He says. He backs up a few steps. “This is on them. I never meant for this.” He runs forward and stomps on the back of Drakkon’s head.
Bea Torres: “He’s completely lost it! Why is no one stopping him?
Jared Idol: “Somebody get down here and throw him out!”
Drakkon is laying limp in the ring. Unable to defend themselves for what comes next. Jason grabs the sack without ever breaking his gaze. He pulls out a straitjacket from the sack. Immediately, it becomes clear that this straitjacket doesn’t have a back. Jason puts the straitjacket on Drakkon and gets close in his face. “I warned them. They didn’t listen. I gave them a chance. They could have stopped this. They could have saved me. I warned them. THEY DIDN’T LISTEN!” His voice starts to break as he screams the last part. “Please, please, please, forgive me.” Jason spits in Drakkon’s face again as he goes back to the sack. He grabs a pair of scissors and starts to cut off the wrestling attire that covers Drakkon’s back. With his back fully exposed Jason gets back to the sack the pull out his new toy: His tool of destruction. Jason grabs it and lets of the sack. As it falls to the ground there is a new cat-o-nine tails in his hand...A razor blade tipped cat-o-nine tails. As the lights continue to flicker, the violins keep playing and the phrase keeps repeating itself. This is a far cry from the man who once upon a time was a beloved world champion. The man once known as His Flying Majesty was nowhere to be found. No, that man was gone. His Flying Majesty was dead. The man in the ring was someone completely different. Slowly he walks towards Drakkon as if he is waiting for something. And as if on que the violins get replaced.
Bea Torres: “We saw what that razor-tipped whip did to Gray Malone. Jason Hawk is about to carve up another victim.”
Jared Idol: “This is a wrestling show, not a snuff film.”
“HOLD ME CLOSE, DON’T LET GO, WATCH ME!” The phrase now gets screamed as heavy riffs and blasting drums kick in and the lights flickering gets more intense. That’s when Jason raises his arm and whips Drakkon’s back with the razor blade tipped cat-o-nine tails. Again, and again and again he lets the razor blades dig into Drakkon’s exposed back. Blood is running down his back and some even drips all over the ring and onto Jason himself. The crowd is stunned into complete silence. This isn’t the same silence that had greeted Jason every time he had stepped into a Millennium ring. This is silence caused by fear. For the first time since stepping out onto the stage Jason breaks is gaze from Drakkon and looks out at the crowd. He points the bloody cat-o-nine tails at them before whipping Drakkon one last time. Drakkon doesn’t even move. Not a sound can be heard. The flickering stops, and the music dies down and the only thing that can be heard in the entire arena is Jason’s heavy breath. “You didn’t listen...” he says before exiting the ring. He walks up the ramp knowing that has gone past the point of no return. His Flying Majesty was no longer. He was now a changed man. A man with no remorse or compassion. His Dying Majesty.
Bea Torres: “.....I.. what did we just see?”
Jared sits, stunned, as EMT’s rush to the ring. The show returns to the live show, with Bea and Jared looking disgusted at the replay. They return their attention to the ring, where the madman himself is waiting for his match.
Tag Team Match
Aurora Jansen & Melissa Reeves VS Gray Malone & Jason Hawk
Melissa and Aurora are definitely no stranger to each other. Friends outside the ring, they even teamed up in a couple of occasions, even though in trios match. Nonetheless, they showed a great chemistry since the beginning, something their opponents were obviously lacking. With quick tags and surprising teamwork, they isolated him in their half of the ring, their hard strikes and submission moves preventing him to reach Gray for the tag. The whole situation was frustrating for the veteran, who was eager to get inside the ring. And when The Mistress of DDT lived up her name nailing Jason with a Tornado DDT and hooked the leg, Gray couldn't wait any longer and stepped in, stomping Aurora, interrupting the count. While the referee was dealing with Malone, who refused to leave the ring, Hawk hit the Queen Of The Crossroads with a low blow, rolling her up and getting a two count. Stumbling back, he reached his corner where Gray tagged himself in. He immediately charged at the opponent and cut her in half with the Shadowblade, a wicked spear that sent her back in her corner. Seeing her partner in jeopardy, Melissa tagged in and brought the fight to the Shadow Of Society. And it was a hard battle, with Reeves delighting the fans with her sublime technique connecting with a series of armdrag, the last one transitioning into an armbar. Gray reached the ropes, and she was forced to release the hold. On the apron, Jason was yelling at his partner, and not in an encouraging way. The two stared at each other and Melissa almost took advantage of the situation, knocking him down with a spinning heel kick to the back of the head, but it wasn’t enough to keep Gray down. The kick somehow seemed to be the wake up call Malone needed. Finally able to defend himself from Mel’s attacks, he turned the tables with a huge chokeslam into a backbreaker that rattled Melissa bones. Aurora saved the match for her team, but the momentum was clearly in favor of her opponents now. For a minute, Gray and Jason even worked together as a team, first on Melissa and then, when she managed to find an opening to tag out, on Rori. But obviously, considering their egos and their history, this alliance wasn’t meant to last. A miscommunication while performing a team move allows Aurora to sneak free from Hawk’s grasp and send Malone out of the ring with a dropkick. The DDT specialist unloaded a series of quick kicks to the chest of Jason, ending the sequence with a roundhouse kick. The following Haunted Revolution missed the target, and she landed on Jason’s knees. Now it was his moments to shine, showcasing all his arsenal of high-flying moves, living up his moniker of “His Flyin’ Majesty”. Aurora seemed to be at the mercy of his opponent, unable to find a counter to his moves, in difficulty as we have rarely seen her. The fans were rallying behind her, trying to help her through this struggling time. But they lost their hope when Hawk connected with the Wings Of Time. All Jason had to do now was to pin the former PW World Heavyweight Champion but, instead of securing the win, he shoot a gloating glance to Gray, who didn’t take the affront lightly. Big words flying, things heating up and tension rising to the point that Gray stepped into the ring, going face to face with his partner, pushing him. Jason shook his head, before resting his hands on Gray’s chest and pushing him back as well. In all this, Aurora crawled back to her corner, tagging Melissa in. Reeves watched the situation unfolding, walking behind Hawk’s back without neither one of the two men worrying about her. Pulling his arm, she forced him to turn, right into the Facial Deconstructor! Mel glanced at Malone, and when she saw that he didn’t seem intentioned to do anything at all, she covered Hawk. Gray left the ring, while the referee counted to three, declaring the team ot Reeves and Aurora as the winner. As they were celebrating though, Gray slid back into the ring holding a chair. Rori caught him out of the corner of her eye and instinctively reacted with a kick to the stomach that caught Malone by surprise, doubling him over and making him drop the chair. After a quick look at the position of the weapon, Aurora dropped him head first on it with the Carpathian Cross. WINNER: Aurora Jansen & Melissa Reeves BY: Pinfall, 12:52 |
Jared Idol: “Gray and Hawk simply couldn’t co-exist here tonight.”
Bea Torres: “But Aurora and Melissa worked like a well-oiled machine! What a win!”
Jared Idol: “Next week, Melissa gets her shot at the Millennium Championship… you have to think this win here tonight is a good momentum builder on her way to the year one show.”
Bea Torres: “Absolutely. Momentum is everything, and when you’re competing for the Millennium title, you need all the advantages you can.”
Melissa and Aurora celebrate in the ring. The show cuts backstage.
The feed cuts to a throwback footage of the last few crucial moments of Heroes & Cons when Grace van Beek lifts up Jennifer Yang for the Diamondplex before the champion reverses it into #BEHUMBLE. The video ends with an emotional Jennifer Yang celebrating before it fades out to a shot of her actually walking backstage with a less tearful yet still bright smile. The Millennium championship belt glistens in the light as she carries it proudly on her shoulder. In her casual ensemble of ‘Fight Like Jenni’ t-shirt, Nike pants and sneakers, she’s not dressed for her match yet and is instead on her way somewhere else. It seems almost unusual to see her alone because she’s always been accompanied by her fiance/manager Ho Wei Shen.
Speak of the devil, here he comes, with a stern look on his face. He catches up with her easily before gently but firmly grabbing her arm to stop her in her tracks. It startles her at first.
Ho Wei Shen:
Jenni, why aren’t you in your locker room? Your match is starting soon, and you need to change and warm up.
Jennifer gives him a warm smile.
Jennifer Yang:
I’ll get to it in a bit, Wei. I’m just going to meet with Kate first to say hi before our match. Besides, I didn’t get to congratulate her in person that night so I thought this would be a good opportunity.
He scoffs as he lets go of her arm and steps in front of her, face to face.
Ho Wei Shen:
What for? She has said it many times before that she doesn’t like you nor care for you. It wouldn’t make a difference.
Jennifer Yang:
I know, but we’re tagging tonight, and I want her to know that I’ll have her back.
Frowning, Wei starts shaking his head. Jennifer notices this yet continues to speak anyway.
Jennifer Yang:
Britt and Saki are great individually. I’ve paid very close attention to their matches. And together, they surely would make an impressive team, so I just want to clear the air between Kate and me so that we can both perform our best without worrying about personal feelings. This match is very important to the four of us. We’re all champions here and—
Waving her off with his hand, Wei cuts her off.
Ho Wei Shen:
Which is exactly why you don’t have to do this. You’re the Millennium champion, Jenni. You’ve proven to everyone, including the roster, that you’re the most professional here. And that you will not do less than your best in any match you’ll compete in. What you did at Heroes & Cons is enough. More than enough, if you ask me. And Kate knows this. She knows she can rely on you tonight.
Jennifer starts to say something, but Wei stops her again.
Ho Wei Shen:
Not only are you the face of Millennium, Jenni, you are also the backbone of this company. You’ve come so far and grown so much despite the setbacks you’ve encountered. Anyone else in your position would have given up somewhere along the way. But you didn’t. You’re still here, and now standing proud and strong as the Millennium champion. So, just do what you do best. Compete. And win.
With an assuring smile, he takes her hand and guides her in the opposite direction, back towards her locker room.
Ho Wei Shen:
Now go change. It’s time to get ready.
Jennifer nods as the two of them walk away.
Showcase Match
Kace Matthews VS Tiffany Tompkins VS Vivienne Robichaud
A shot at redemption, a chance to get back on track a week before the one year anniversary show. That was what this match looked like for the three competitors, determined to turn the momentum in their favor after coming out of Heroes And Cons with a loss. Especially Tiffany, who made her way to the ring with fire in her eyes, ready to go to war as soon as the bell rings. And so she did, taking on both opponents with a series of forearm shots and chops. The fans were quickly to rally behind her, enjoying the young girl’s attitude. Vivi was the first to fall under Tompkins’ stiff shots, giving her the chance to focus all her attacks on Matthews. With an irish whip, she sent Kace in the corner and followed up with a dropkick. With both her opponents down, Tiffany rested for a moment, a smirk across her face as she soaks in the adulation of the fans, before going back to work. But just as she was picking up Kace, The Voodoo Queen sneaked behind her back and planted her face first on the mat with the Creole Surprise. Kace tried to steal one, wasting no time and covering Android 18, but Vivi immediately broke the pin, looking down at Kace and shaking her head. Matthews shrugged his shoulders, with his typical boastful face. Vivi picked him up and sent him against the ropes, but Kace ducked the clothesline attempt and connected with a sling blade. Tiffany was already back on her feet, waiting for the opportunity to go for her Death Kick. But Kace had it scouted and was able to dodge it, countering with a Pele Kick. The fans were really enjoying the fast paced action, the feeling was that this match could have ended at any moment. The three competitors certainly didn’t hold back, the desire to win overcoming the fear to take another loss. Vivienne thought she had it won when she connected her Hurricane Vivienne on The Killer Machine. But to everyone’s surprise, Tiffany kicked out. Kace tried to capitalize in the momentary shock and charged at Vivi with a Shining Wizard, following up with a running Shooting Star Press. There was nothing stopping Kace Matthews from winning this huge match. He knew it, as he climbed the turnbuckle and looked down on Vivi. And the fans knew it, when he called for the Chi-Town Splash and took flight. … DEATH KICK OUT OF NOWHERE!! Tiffany Tompkins caught Kace mid air and knocked him down! The fans are going wild , cheering for the young girl who only had to go for the cover and secure the win. But Vivienne had other plans. She grabbed Tiff from behind and unceremoniously tossed her outside, reaping the fruit of her work and hooking Kace’s leg. Tiffany saw what was happening and rushed back into the ring and broke the pin, one moment too late. The referee hand already touched the mat for the third time, Vivienne Robichaud walked out of this triple threat as the winner. Tiffany was livid, pleading her case to the referee. But he stood by his decision. Heartbroken, Tompkins left the ring and walked backstage shaking her head in disappointment, too frustrated to even acknowledge the appreciation and love from the fans, won over by her talent, heart and determination, despite this unfortunate setback. WINNER: Vivi Robichaud BY: Pinfall, 10:50 |
Jared Idol: “That’s one way to bounce back from a loss!”
Bea Torres: “Vivi gets the win here tonight, but Tiffany really thought she had that one in the bag.”
Jared Idol: “That’s the danger of these triple threat matches. You have to have eyes in the back of your head. You never know when something like that could happen.”
Vivi leaves the ring, smirking as she makes her way to the back. This match was going to bring good things for her. That much she knew.
Britty Kane, with the Cloud Gate Championship around her waist, wore a smile on her face as she walked around backstage, peeking about for her partner this evening. The Cloud Gate Champion put her hair in her traditional ponytail while walking, looking for Saki.
Britty Kane
Oh where is Saki? Hopefully not drinking any…
She snickers to herself as she keeps looking about. Britty would find Saki by the sound of her voice before seeing the woman.
Saki
Do drinking just thinking.
The soft voice was almost chipper and cute, to anyone who didn’t know the pint sized lunatic. Saki was sitting on a folding chair, likely stolen from somewhere, with her Extreme Championship belt resting on her shoulders, eyes barely peering over the plate as it hung like a makeshift collar or necklace.
Britty Kane
Hello, Saki!
Without giving it as much of a second thought she gave her partner for tonight a big ole hug despite the folding chair between them. Britty glances at the Extreme Championship and how Saki had it on her neck.
Britty Kane
Doesn’t that hurt?
She shakes her head after realizing that pain really isn’t a big deal to Saki.
Britty Kane
Well, wait, nevermind. I forget that you enjoy pain and stuff. That headbutt of yours always makes me cringe when you do it. Like, ripcording before you do it? How do you not suffer a concussion all the time?
Saki
So many questions in one session. No pain, no gain. Mind over matter, like a knife through pancake batter.
The oddball just grinned wide at her partner for the night. Britty cocks an eyebrow after hearing Saki’s latest rhyme.
Britty Kane
...Right, well, tonight we have to work together and that’s why I’m here so we can talk about it. You’re a, no offense, a violent psycho who loves pain. I like to be a technical wrestler, and I think that really helps us cuz we are different. Kate and Jennifer are kinda the same or neither of them have the violent tendencies like you.
A shrug follows.
Britty Kane
Though Kate would probably try to pretend she’s a violent psycho, then a rockstar, then a submissionist, and then back to rockstar…
Saki
Pretender turned offender. Wearing gold kept in the weakest handhold. Violent or silent, doesn’t matter cuz bitches be served us on a silver platter. We’ll burn the ring like smoking Joe Frazier
The hell raiser, raising hell with the flavor. What don’t kill ya just makes ya stranger.
As if any of that made sense Saki looked at Britt with a mix of excitement and perverse glee, the idea of hurting people gave her a feeling few should ever have. Britty takes a step, or two, back and fakes a smile.
Britty Kane
So, uh, big Joker fan are we? I’m always more of the Batman girl. So, I um…
She is clearly a little freaked out by Saki at the moment, continuing to step backwards to the door.
Britty Kane
I just remembered I told my brother I’d talk to him after his match so, uh, see you out there.
Saki just kept grinning, rocking a little in the chair as her fingers danced over the etchings on the plate of her championship belt.
Saki
Got a date, don’t be late. Don’t be late. Don’t be late.
Ella Cross
Mr. Matthews?
The female voice, respectful in its tone comes from outside the office. Whispered, muffled by the closed door, it’s barely audible over the background music. Nonetheless, Chuck Matthews hears it, immediately abandoning whatever boring paperwork he was doing, apparently not bothered by the interruption. Maybe even please by the unexpected break.
Chuck Matthews
Ms. Cross.
The young woman, still standing outside the office and out of frame, announces the reason of the nuisance.
Ella Cross
Miss van Beek is here. She said she had an appointment?
Chuck’s expression suddenly changes, shifting back to the serious look we’re used to see. He knew this moment was coming, Grace said that, despite being unable to compete due to a light injury suffered, a grade I sprained ankle, according to her doctor’s note, she would attend the show, and that it was time for them to have a talk. With a light sigh, Chuck tells his assistant to let her in. The door finally opened and the Diamond Princess, walked in, wearing a classy studded black dress. Oddly, no heels at her feet, which makes sense considering her injury. Walking next to her, that goes without saying, the inseparable bodyguard, Ryen Riekert.
Grace van Beek
Good evening, Mr Matthews.
She says sitting on the chair in front of him. No handshake, no formalities, just a cold greeting.
Chuck Matthews
Van Beek. To what do I owe you the pleasure of this visit?
His sarcastic tone isn’t lost on the former Cloud Gate Champion.
Grace van Beek
Hmpf. Please, save me the fake courtesy and let us cut to the chase. I am here to make a demand. I want Jennifer Yang, one on one next week with a stipulation of my choosing.
Chuck stares at her for a moment, looking straight in her blue eyes, expertly highlighted by golden and brown make-up. She doesn’t flinch, returning the gaze keeping her stern expression.
Chuck Matthews
Well, then.
He takes a few more moments to study his answer, trying to read her intentions as well.
Chuck Matthews
I’m sure you know I’ve already booked a title match for next week, Yang versus Reeves. But I’m curious… What makes you believe that I should change it to give you another chance?
The Crown Jewel of Millennium seems annoyed by Chuck’s reply, as her eyeroll testifies.
Grace van Beek
Plenty of reasons, actually, Mr Matthews. And I am sure you can figure them out yourself but, since you are asking…
She raises one finger, counting her reasons as she lists them.
Grace van Beek
First and foremost, because I deserve it. At Heroes and Cons, if I did not injury myself, I would have walked out as the new Millennium Champion.
Chuck lightly shakes his head at what sounds like an excuse from the South African.
Grace van Beek
Number two, Ms Reeves is definitely a talented woman, she proved it in other companies but here in Millennium? All she did was beating your cousin, and you must agree with me, that is not exactly worth a shot at the most coveted prize in your company.
A third finger is raised in front of Chuck.
Grace van Beek
Third. Because you know what I am capable of. You know you cannot stop me, you know I can strike anytime and anywhere I want. Inside the ring or backstage, just like your precious Ms Wall.
The mention of Nessa’s name definitely strikes a nerve, despite his attempt to hide it. And Grace noticed it.
Grace van Beek
You cannot really be surprised, can you? Who else did you think it could have been? Nobody else has the strength, the audacity and the motives to hit where it hurts the most.
The proverbial ball is now in your court, mister Matthews. You have the chance to stop all of this giving me the match I asked.
She sits back on her chair, crossing her legs.
Grace van Beek
And please, save me the whole “Shall I remember you who you are working for?”. We both know you cannot and will not fire me. The damage you would to your own company would be much higher than any upside you think you can get.
She quickly adds before he can respond. Chuck’s expression is cold.
Chuck Matthews
See… that was a mistake. The run-ins, the disrespect, that’s just part of the business, I can settle that. Singling out members of the roster, though?
Grace van Beek
You know why I did it.
Chuck Matthews
Because you’re entitled, and I won’t bend over and give you what you want.
Grace van Beek
Because you’re infatuated with her.
Grace sneers, as though the very thought of it disgusts her.
Grace van Beek
Oh, sure, you’ll play it off like you’re old friends, like your interest is purely out of some intellectual pursuits.
She leans across his desk.
Grace van Beek
I know better. I’ve observed, Mr. Matthews. I’ve seen the interactions. I’ve heard you two speak of each other.
Chuck Matthews
Choose your next words carefully.
Grace van Beek
Or…. what, exactly? You’ll fire me? You’ll beat me in a match? You couldn’t help your sister from getting crushed by Becky Balfour. You couldn’t save your beloved Nessa Wall-...
She leans back in her seat with another cold sneer.
Grace van Beek
Couldn’t even save your son. All that brainpower, and you couldn’t-
Chuck Matthews
Get out.
Chuck’s voice is short, sharp… and, though he tries to hide it, a bit shaken. Grace narrows her eyes.
Grace van Beek
Excuse me?
Chuck looks to his security, shaking his head.
Chuck Matthews
Escort her from the building.
Grace smiles.
Grace van Beek
Have I hit a nerve, Mr. Matthews? Surely the impervious Chuck Matthews, the man who feels nothing, who loves nothing, isn’t…. Upset?
She clicks her tongue.
Grace van Beek
Oh dear. It seems the father of the year isn’t so bulletproof after all, is he?
Chuck stands, clenching his desk angrily. He stares coldly at Grace, struggling to maintain his composure. For a moment, he breathes heavily, but cools off quick. Grace leans in with a low hiss.
Grace van Beek
You’re weak.
Chuck’s tone is soft, but sharp.
Chuck Matthews
You’re in way over your head.
Grace’s eyes light up.
Grace van Beek
A match, then.
Chuck narrows his eyes.
Chuck Matthews
You and me.
Grace shakes her head.
Grace van Beek
I’m here to prove a point, Mr. Matthews. In the time you’ve been gallivanting with Miss Wall, I’ve been turning your roster against you. I’ve been leading the charge. We’ll fight… but I want you to see all who have opposed you. I want you to see who you’ve turned against you.
She smiles.
Grace van Beek
And when I win, I want you to step down as the head of Millennium Wrestling.
Chuck is silent for a moment. Grace’s confident smirk, her seething words, her condescending tone, all seem to eat at Chuck.
Chuck Matthews
Fine.
Grace’s smile grows wider.
Grace van Beek
Splendid.
Chuck shakes his head.
Chuck Matthews
But I want you to know… should you lose, you, and anyone standing with you, will be out of my company. Permanently.
He glares at Grace. She looks stunned for a brief moment, but her smile returns quickly.
Grace van Beek
What a way to end a year… I’ll see you next week, Mr. Matthews.
Security grabs her by the arms, but she wrenches them free.
Grace van Beek
I can walk perfectly fine on my own.
The two guards follow her, ensuring she leaves the room, and closes the door behind her. Chuck collapses in his chair, and begins to dig frantically through his desk. He stares at something in one of the lower drawers, taking a deep breath and leaning back in his seat. The show cuts elsewhere.
Kate Steele is smiling as she is wearing her Lockdown Championship across her shoulder. She is all smiles as she nods her head with a very wicked grin and continues to speak.
Kate Steele
Tonight it is all about being a champion. Every champion in the company will enter the ring and we will all go to that ring and have a tag team match to determine champion supremacy. I just want to say that when I first came to this company nobody thought anything of me. Everybody wrote me off like a blank check, and no one thought that I had what it took to emerge victorious with a championship but guess what not only did I win the Lockdown Championship but I have some defenses under me, and now under Steele rules I am practically untouchable. Nobody can beat me, not now, and certainly not ever.
Kate can’t help but chuckle as she continues to speak.
Kate Steele
Now I get to have Jennifer Yang on my team and I know for a fact we have what it takes to beat the hell out of Saki and of course Brittany. I don’t really care for Brittany. Saki feels she is going to kill me in that ring and she wants to take her frustration out on me but that’s not really going to happen. What will happen if Jennifer and myself will showcase that we are the best champions that this company has to offer. Well more importantly I am. After all under Steele rules I am untouchable when it comes to my Submissions. They come in so many flavours and once I lock you up you end up getting LOCKED DOWN!
Kate can’t help but grin as she speaks again.
Kate Steele
When it comes to this match I know I am the smallest person in the ring. I know that I might be undersized but by no means am I anybodies handicap. Jenni and I will emerge from victorious. We will show why we are the best. After all it’s not hard when you have somebody like me on your team. So let’s get through another main event and keep things rolling. Brace yourselves for you will be shipwrecked. See you in the ring.
With that Kate adjusts her title as she walks away with an evil grin on her lips.
Main Event
Jennifer Yang (c) & Kate Steele (c) VS Britt Kane (c) & Saki (c)
The atmosphere is electric, the huge main event is upon us. Four champions, one one side the Millennium Champion Jennifer Yang and the Lockdown Champion, Kate Steele. On the other side, the Cloud Gate Champion Britty Kane and the recently crowned Extreme Champion Saki, the four best in Millennium today in the same ring. Since the beginning, with Kate and Saki opening the bout, the match lived up the hype. It wasn’t easy for the fans or even the commentary team to keep up with the fast paced action, both women trying to overcome the opponent in an amazing sequence of counters, dodged blows, pinning predicament and reversals. At least until Kate connected with the springboard crossbody. The guitarist of Devilition changed her strategy from there, going for a boston crab. Saki pushed through the pain, not surprising considering her high tolerance and reached for the ropes, forcing the break. Kate held into it for the full count of four before letting Saki go, and got scolded by Yang for it. The momentary distraction allowed Saki to tag Britty in. And the Cloud Gate champion immediately riled up the fans coming in and quickly connecting with a running elbow to the face that stunned Steele, following up with a prefect butterfly suplex. Kate was quickly on her feet, ducking a right hand and capitalizing with a tiger suplex. Just like her opponent before, Kane jumped back on her feet and stared at the Lockdown Champion, both of them catching the breath. Steele connected with a kick to the mid section, but Britty was able to counter the suplex attempt with one of his own. On the apron, Yang asked for the tag, and her partner, reluctantly, touched her hand. The two crowd favorite squared off, and the bigger experience of the Millennium Champion immediately became a factor. Britty poured her heart into this fight, but Yang was able to dodge most of her shots, her educated feet always finding their target instead. A vicious kick to the head almost knocked the Heckin Panda down for good, but the younger Kane somehow managed to kick out. Jennifer allowed the referee to check on Britty’s condition, respectfully taking a step back. Once it was sure that she was fit to continue, the two women locked up in the middle of the ring. Britty earned the advantage thanks to her technical prowess, grounding the Millennium Champion and working on her left arm and right leg with a series of submission holds, weakening her for the Panda Lock. But Jeniffer Yang is champion for a reason. Digging down deep, she found a way out of the submission, crawling her way to the corner. Britty grabbed her leg trying to stop her, but she ended up eating another kick. Exhausted, both girls slowly reached their respective corner: once again the stage was for Saki and Steele. The Lockdown Champion gained the upper hand, getting this close to the win in a couple of occasions, but the Kawaii Deathmachine wasn’t going to stay down. A third attempt, after the Go Home Driver was frustrated by the Singapore Mauler’s ring awareness. In disbelief, Kate complained with the referee who stated his case saying that Saki’s foot was clearly on the rope. The argument bought Saki some valuable time to recover. And she put it to good use, getting back to her feet and unleashing her fury on Kate, hitting her with literally every part of her body, head included. And it was a ripcord headbutt, the Farfegmugen that made everyone believe the match was over, but somehow, she kicked out of it. Kate tried a shy reaction, but she was on her last legs, desperately in need for a tag. She found her opening after hitting a Pele Kick with her last bit of strength. Luckily for her, she was close enough to the ropes, and Jennifer took the tag, rushing inside the ring and preventing Saki from reaching her corner. Wasting no time, she connected the move that gave her the title and allowed her to retain, the wristlock springboard cutter she calls #BEHUMBLE. And once again, the move gave her another victory, despite Kane’s attempt to save the match for her team. WINNER: Jennifer Yang & Kate Steele BY: Pinfall, 16:33 |
As Jennifer and Kate begin their celebration, they’re interrupted by the sound of “Brains” playing through the speakers. The crowd cheers, looking to the entrance for the head of Millennium Wrestling, but Chuck Matthews doesn’t emerge… not at first anyway. Then, Dane Archer walks out.
Jared Idol: “What’s going on here…?”
Dane smiles, and steps back behind the curtain. When he emerges again, he drags behind him the limp body of-
Bea Torres: “Oh my god… that’s Chuck.”
Chuck is a bloodied mess, and he barely struggles as he’s dragged down the ramp. Kate, Saki, and Britty slide from the ring as Grace’s security files out from behind the curtain as well. Wei Shen urges Jennifer to leave, but Jenni stands tall in the ring, Millennium Championship over her shoulder. She tightens the tape around her wrist, which had shaken a bit loose during the match. Dane rolls Chuck in the ring. Jenni looks down with concern, seeing the swelling above his eye and the blood caked on his face. Dane steps over the top rope, standing toe to toe with Yang.
Dane Archer
Move.
Jennifer stands defiantly, looking up at the massive Archer. Dane sighs, planting his hand on her chest and giving a hard shove which sends Yang back a few steps. She steps in, swinging a wild punch, but before it can connect, she’s stopped by… Sean Libby? Libby delivers a roundhouse to Jenni. Jenni is taken by surprise and steps back into Dane’s chest. Dane grabs her by the throat and hurls her over the top rope to the floor. Outside the ring, Jason Hawk is spotted within the crowd of security. He steps into the ring, looking from Dane to Chuck. Dane steps aside, knowing too well Hawk’s newfound propensity for violence.
Jason Hawk
We were friends once…
He stomps hard on Chuck’s ribs, eliciting a sharp cough from Chuck as he keels over. At the top of the ramp, Grace finally emerges, alongside Chris Kane. Chris frowns as the two of them make their way to the ring.
Grace van Beek
I did warn you, Mr. Matthews. You’ve ignored these men for far too long. You’ve kept Mr. Kane away from his opportunities. You’ve allowed your friendships with Mr. Hawk and Mr. Libby to whither and die.
She and Chris step into the ring. Chris shakes his head, looking down at Chuck, looking a bit sympathetic to Matthews’ current predicament.
Grace van Beek
“We often give our enemies the means of our own destruction.”
She sighs, and nods to Dane. Millennium Security closes in on all sides, but Ryen Riekert signals to Grace’s security, who move to intercept them, keeping them from the ring. Libby and Hawk stomp down on Chuck until Dane steps in, picking the Smartest Man in Wrestling off the mat. He smiles at Chuck.
Dane Archer
Business as usual.
He lifts Chuck just to throw him back to the mat like a ragdoll.
Jared Idol: “This is disgusting.”
Bea Torres: “Bossman…”
The cameras show the stunned faces of some of the audience in attendance. Hawk, Libby and Dane continue their beatdown of Chuck, while Millennium Security struggles to get through the wall of Grace’s guards, trying desperately to reach their leader. The show ends to the violent images, before fading into a graphic for next week’s show: Millennium, Year One.
