MWE Presents: When The Sun Goes Down
Live from The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA
Wednesday, September 15th, 2021
The show opened inside the MEN TV Studio, once again welcomed by Amy Maynard. The stage is pretty much the same as the last time, the same glass desk dominating the center of the scene, the same big screen on Amy’s left. Only the background was different, being the iconic Hollywood Sign situated on Mount Lee, a clear indication of the city hosting When The Sun Goes Down. Flaunting her best smile to the camera, Amy welcomed the fans. “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the recap of MWE’s final summer event. We went to the beautiful LA for When The Sun Goes Down, and the fans were wild, filling the Bowl to capacity. Not a shock, considering the stacked card management put up for this show including, among everything else, four title matches. So, without further ado, let’s see what went down in Los Angeles. Opening the night was a tag team contest, featuring Warblade 42 taking on The Steeles.
“On behalf of MWE, we wish Trinity a speedy recovery. As a consequence of her actions, Echo has been suspended without pay for two weeks. Further ruthless and excessive behavior like this may result in her being stripped of the title and, for offense of greater severity, termination of the contract.” Amy read the official statement signed by both General Managers who hoped, with this, to stop Echo’s wave of violence. “Speaking of injuries, it was revealed later that night that Clyde Eldon Jr. wouldn’t have been cleared to compete in his title match against Kimberly Williams following the attack of the Dalek. Elsa McCarthy found a last minute replacement to take his place, but you’ll see who we’re talking about later on. RIght now, it’s time for the Tag Team titles match. Will the Glorious Golden Era end K2O’s reign?”
“Not a bad way to kick things off, right?” Hard to disagree with her comment, the match was short and mostly a one way affair but entertaining nonetheless. “Next up was the two-time Gold Star and Best At Everything Faizah Marshall throwing hands with Jada Hashford. But before that, Elsa McCarthy and Vincent Moretti took the stage for a very important announcement, something that would shake tMWE to the core.”
“Quite the announcement, wasn’t it?” Amy commented as we moved back inside the studio. “Like the General Managers said, this decision will shake things up a bit. But that wasn’t the only announcement we had that night, the former World champion Seth Iser had to say something as well. Right after the match between Joey Leclair and Andrew Raynes.
Amy didn’t look pleased with how the match ended but she didn’t comment on it, moving quickly onto the next part of the show. “From one title match to another, from the tag titles to the Riot championship. Henri Black and Pierce Manning have been at each other’s throats for over a year. Their paths keep crossing, and once again with the orange brand’s top prize on the line. Earlier that night it was announced that the stipulation chosen for Henri was a rather drastic one.” Dramatic pause. “Nothing over the top, no ultraviolent stipulations but one, simple addendum. The loser won’t be able to challenge the other for the whole year, until the next summer break.” Another brief pause from Amy, this one to let the news sink in with the audience. “And after that? We’ll witness the debut of The Chief, Dante Cutler. A baptism by fire for the man who, with his partners from the Tribe Called Conquest, cost Hearst’s chance to become IC champion and, most likely, retired the Seven Headed Beast.”
“Another huge statement made by the Tribe, or their first mistake? Dustin and Tank are not people you want on your bad side, they showed in the past they can give anyone a run for their money.” The image on the screen showed a completely different location, the world famous Universal Studios. “We’ll see what happens with Cutler and company when Riot comes back in a few days. But now, it’s time to find out who replaced Clyde Eldon Jr to challenge Kimberly Williams for the Chicago Way championship. Sit back, grab your favorite drink and snack, folks… It’s time for the Universal Studios Street Fight!”
"Wow, what a match... I'm glad to inform you that neither Kimberly nor Kenzie got seriously injured in the explosion. The Chicago Way champion actually looked oddly amused while the medics were patching her up..." Typical Kimberly. "With only the main event left to watch, this is the part where I wish you a goodnight. I hope to see you all this Sunday for the first episode of Riot's new season. Thank you for joining us tonight, and enjoy the Cloud Gate championship match."

Backstage in the dressing room area we find Sophie O’Brian dressed in her black and green wrestling gear. She is getting some final last minute stretches done in preparation for her tag title match, pitting her and Neil Newman against K20. Observing from not too far away is Sophie’s childhood best friend, ‘The British Bombshell’ Glory Braddock. The beautiful blonde is not scheduled to compete tonight and thus is wearing a knee length purple dress and black open toed high heel pumps. Her long blonde hair hangs unrestrained to past the shoulders. Glory Braddock: This is quite the opportunity for you tonight, mate. Sophie O’Brian: That it is. Sophie stands up and faces Glory. The Irish female sighs. Sophie O’Brian: You deserve a title opportunity. Not me. Glory Braddock: “Come off it, mate. You and Neil have worked hard for this. Bloody hell, who would have expected a randomly thrown together team like you two to gel so quickly, to get the chemistry going this quickly, and beat so many great teams to earn this title match. You deserve it.” Braddock places a hand on Sophie’s shoulder. Glory Braddock: “Don’t worry about me, Sophie. My time will come. Maybe I will challenge Henri for the Riot Championship? Maybe Henri and I could team up? Or maybe I will continue my quest for my sixteenth World Championship? It doesn’t matter. Tonight isn’t about me. It’s about you and Neil bringing tag team gold back to the Glorious Golden Era. Do you need my help for anything at all tonight?” O’Brian smirks. Sophie O’Brian: We have this well in hand, my friend. All I ask is for you to be on call. Glory Braddock: On call? What do you mean? Sophie O’Brian: Karen Eldon is a sneaky, conniving brasser. Who knows what tricks may be up her sleeve. I have Neil watching my back out there but we may need more if necessary. Braddock nods her head. Glory Braddock: I understand. And you know I always have your back, Sophie. |
Tag Team Match Warblade 42 VS The Steeles WINNERS: Warblade 42 BY: Pinfall (Knockout Junction), 9:26 |
It’s not often that the two GMs step inside the ring, but when they do, it’s usually for some major announcement. Elsa was the first to take the word, thanking the fans who came out here tonight and proudly announcing that tonight also marked MWE’s record attendance since the pandemic started. This obviously earned her a cheap pop from the vocal Californian fans, forcing Elsa to wait until they settled down before continuing. The Millennium General Manager went on saying that both her and Vincent were looking forward to the beginning of a new cycle after the summer break. Moretti then stepped up and continued from where Elsa left off, announcing that the first episode of Riot will take place in Rochester, NY on October 3rd, with Millennium following on its usual Wednesday night spot from Milwaukee. Elsa McCarthy: And that brings us to the reason we’re out here tonight. Smiling at the camera, Elsa continued. Elsa McCarthy: The success of both Summer Hits and When The Sun Goes Down opened our eyes on something we, until now, had ignored. MWE keeps thriving, sure. We keep bringing fresh talents in, former World Champions like Dante Cutler and Chris Sanderson, and there’s still a few surprises we’re working on. She exchanged a knowing glance with Moretti. Elsa McCarthy: And the Academy is certainly ensuring a bright future.for our company. But we still think we need to shake things up a little bit. Vincent Moretti: Since the very beginning, Millennium and Riot have been on a sort of inevitable collision course. We had a literal brand war two years ago, and even after that, there has always been a sort of healthy competition for alleged brand supremacy. Elsa McCarthy: Which, undoubtedly, benefited both Riot and Millennium, allowing them to grow. Elsa added her two cents. Elsa McCarthy: The ratings don’t lie, Millennium and Riot are constantly on the top five of the most seen shows on the network and that's a point of pride for us. So how can we improve an already successful formula? Moretti was the one to answer that question showing, even in these little details, the synergy between the two GMs. Vincent Moretti: By removing that element of predictability two distinct rosters inevitably bring. Understanding what this last statement implied, the fans welcomed the news with a loud roar. Vincent Moretti: That’s right, starting with October, we will no longer have an orange brand and a green one. Two distinct shows, but only one big, talented roster. Elsa McCarthy: This opens up a range of new, exciting possibilities for the wrestlers and the fans as well. New contenders for the champions, matches you, until now, could only dream of happening on our weekly shows, Only one thing was left to address, but any doubt was quickly cleared by Moretti. Vincent Moretti: The brand titles will remain prerogative of the respective shows, meaning that the Riot, Junior Heavyweight and MENTV championship will only be defended on Sunday nights, while the Cloud Gate, Chicago Way and Lockdown championship will appear exclusively on Millennium.” Elsa McCarthy: With one exception. She added, receiving a nod of confirmation from her counterpart. Elsa McCarthy: On February 2nd, we will celebrate the 100th episode of Millennium with a special show where ALL the titles will be on the line. Including those that would usually be Riot exclusive. Vincent Moretti: A great way to celebrate a historic milestone for this company. It’s the beginning of a new era for MWE in the name of continuity with these shows where, as I’m sure you noticed, we’ve had a few cross-brand bouts. But enough with the talk, enjoy the show folks.” After receiving the applause of the fans, Elsa and Vincent left the ring. |
Singles Match Jada Hashford VS Faizah MarshallWINNER: Faizah Marshall BY: Pinfall (Double Foot Stomp), 10:14 |
Where else would the reigning MWE Chicago Way Champion be when preparing for a Universal Studios Street Fight but IN Universal Studios itself with her trusty Dalek friend (who may or may not be damaged due to the electrified steel cage encounter). The eccentric ginger is dressed in denim jeans, black boots, and a black top with “Evil” printed on the front in hot pink lettering. Her MWE Chicago Way Championship title belt is wrapped around her waist. Kimberly Williams: Come along, Dalek. We need to fix you. Dalek: FIX? WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED? EXPLAIN! EXPLAIN! EXPLAIN! Kimberly Williams: It’s you, sweetie. You just haven’t been the same since you sacrificed yourself for me at Glory Horizons. I think that electric charge did something to your wiring because now you’re just not right in that chrome dome of yours and I need you at one hundred percent if you are gonna watch my back when I defend the Chicago Way Title against Clyde Eldon Jr. Dalek: DEFEND?! The Woman Scorned sighs and rolls her eyes. Kimberly Williams: Yes, defend, as in defending my title. Keeping Eldon from getting his grubby little hands on it. Maybe even maiming the little piece of crap while I’m at it. Dalek: MAIMING IS NOT GOOD! WE MUST LOVE! WE MUST ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER TO EMBRACE PEACE AND GOODWILL! Kimberly Williams: See? That’s the kind of talk that makes me think something is wrong with you. What happened to EXTERMINATE?! Williams sighs as she walks on with Dalek following her closely behind. Kim eventually comes up to a guy dressed as Shrek. Kimberly Williams: Oh good, Shrek. You are like, knowledgeable about magic and stuff right? Shrek: … Kimberly Williams: Could you use your magic to fix my Dalek? Dalek: I LOVE SHREK! SHREK TEACHES YOUNG CHILDREN GOOD VALUES AND MORALS! The Dalek cuddles up to Shrek. Kim sighs as she walks on past Shrek. The Dalek follows Kim. Kimberly Williams: Ok, so Shrek was a bad idea. Hmmm… The Woman Scorned keeps walking. She spots a few cast members dressed The Minions from Despicable Me. Kim rushes over with the Dalek following closely behind. Kimberly Williams: Oh good! Minions! Now I know you may be just simple minions but surely your boss Groot may have some kind of fancy, evil device to make my Dalek here normal again? Y’know, as in, evil and exterminate-y again. Can ya do that for me? Minions: … Williams rolls her eyes. Kimberly Williams: What the hell?! First Shrek and now The Minions?! I saw these idiots talk on the movies! Why aren’t they talking now! Dalek: I SUGGEST A RELAXING WALK THROUGH NATURE WITH THE MINIONS WHILE WE PREPARE FOR A NICE PICNIC WITH CLYDE ELDON JR INSTEAD OF FIGHTING HIM TO THE DEATH! Kimberly Williams: Picnic? I’m gonna gut Eldon and have his intestines for breakfast. Where the hel is Davros? We need to you fixed! Williams spots Optimus Prime and Bumblebee standing not too far away. Kimberly Williams: There’s Prime! He has the Autobot Matrix of Leadership! I will rip it out of his chest and use that to fix you! Face me Prime! One shall stand, one shall fall! Williams sprints off towards Optimus Prime preparing to attack him. The Dalek follows her closely behind. The scene fades. |
Singles Match Andrew Raynes VS Joey LeclairWINNER: Andrew Raynes BY: DQ, 12:19 |
We then return to a wide view of the crowd before the lights dim before going out entirely. The precursor to ‘Unsainted’ playing as the audience instinctively boos the former World Champion. The spotlight is there but rather than the usual entrance we see him braced on crutches and an even bulkier than normal brace on his left knee. The boo birds immediately die down seeing that as a much more calm expression is etched on his face rather than one of outright hostility. He has a microphone on hand as he’s balancing himself on the crutches with gritted teeth. Seth Iser: I see some of you are a little confused...but bare with me here. We just need a little bit of recapping to understand why I’m where I’m at. But to start off...let’s just say there is always a price for anything you want to achieve in professional wrestling. And our industry is a taxing load physically and mentally. But when you work multiple companies at top...the price is far greater and far more...taxing. There’s a frown curled on his lips as he lets that choice of words hang for a moment. There isn’t the venom you’d expect but rather it seems he’s just being bluntly honest. Seth Iser: Fast forward a little bit in 2021...I’m sore, I’ve already had to deal with recovering from my foot issue, but I’m stuck making a split decision that’d affect the course of everything. In that damned Cage Scramble, the true bastard child of Chuck Matthews and his sick mind, I had already been ambushed. I was labored...but I didn’t want to give up the World Title without even being pinned or submitted. I knew for a damn fact I didn’t want that to go down. I also knew that Keelan Jayce was far more agile climbing then I was. Seth pauses for a moment, letting the crowd in a little more. Seth Iser: So I hurled myself and took a great fall. I knocked the wind out of myself but I felt something give that night. All the months of extra touring, the long matches, taking everyone’s best shot in two companies every time I wrestled...oh yes, something gave. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to look at me to figure out what was the body part that went. My damned left knee, a constant trouble spot, had something go. But I kept that information hidden. I kept the swelling...as best as I could, hidden. And I wasn’t going to miss any of my damn appearances or have that be an excuse as to why I’d win or lose. The frown droops down a little further as he leans forward and adjusts how he’s standing. He’s unable to hide the discomfort. Seth Iser: As proof of that, I’m voiding any right to a return match. The better man won the World Title that night and Duke earned his reign. I have a few other fish that need fried before I pursue one more world title reign here. But after the tag match teaming with Pierce last month I felt another pain as I did the clothesline over the top and landed awkwardly on my feet. It effectively eliminated both Joey Leclair and yours truly. Didn’t think much of it. Iced it down and went home. A little worse but not that much different then what I’d been dealing with for a few months now. Woke up...and I wanted to do my normal work out. Push like I normally did. Maybe a little harder to see where everything was at. The normal athlete instinct a lot of us professional wrestlers have. Initially I felt great even with that nagging pain. But the nagging pain got worse and the alarm bells went off fully. Okay...I got to inform everyone at upper management I had to get it taken care of. A stoic frown etched on his face as Seth straightens himself up still using the crutches as a brace. Seth Iser: It was arthroscopic knee surgery. Not anything career ending or major but something that needed to be addressed. I was told one to two months, the usual time table. Another injury so close to the previous scare. Not even a year apart...and it’s yet another warning...that our time in our industry is finite. You can only take so many blows before something gives out. Even the fortunate ones have their own broken bones and scars. But this isn't a career ending as you know. It’s just a couple months at most. I had it...last month. He then has this smirk etched on his face as he can’t help himself. Seth Iser: Unlike USC football...I will be back. One statement is all it takes for the crowd to go from intently listening to booing Iser with a passion. There’s even the fun ‘Fuck you Iser’ chant that starts to ring out in LA as the veteran and former World Champion smirks before letting the chant die down. Seth Iser: I’ll be off crutches real soon. And when I am able to get back to work...there are some people that need to be taught an old school lesson in this industry. There are some people...I flat out want to see what they have for myself. And...in the case of a couple others, there’s some grudges I want taken care of. But until then. Go ahead...I’ll be listening and I’ll remember everything said. As for tonight however... A determined glare creeping back on his face. Seth Iser: You’ll see a new rise in the Triumvirate when for the second time...my colleague Pierce Manning defeats Henri Black a second time and there won’t be a damn thing Henri, Charles and his bladder problems, the USC board, or anyone else for that matter can do about it. He’ll show the damn world what it means when I say...we are Professional Wrestling...and everyone else is pursuing us to figure out truly where they stand IN Professional Wrestling. And with that last statement, Seth turns on his crutches as best he can and hobbles off. His recovery going as well as can be all things considered. |
Singles Match Dean Smith VS BROOKFORDWINNER: BROOKFORD BY: Pinfall (Problem... Solved), 11:07 |
Aspen Eisley: And here is your winner of the match, BROOKFORD! Instead of “I’m Bad” by LL Cool J, “Can’t be Touched” by Roy Jones Jr took over the PA system inside of The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Slowly Duke Andrews made his way from behind the curtain. Wearing a plain black polo shirt that was almost painted on his large physique and a pair of grey dress pants, he clutched the MWE World Heavyweight Championship over his right shoulder. It was soon thereafter that a still battered Alan Envy followed behind The Epitome of Perfection to the ring. Duke Andrews: No offense to you Dean, but I think it’s time for you to leave the ring. His eyes looked directly at Dean Smith who obliged and rolled out of the ring before he turned his attention back to the monster inside of the ring. Duke Andrews: Look at you. Peak physical condition. Sitting on cloud nine. Thinking that you’ve got the rook in your hand and you’re a couple moves from taking my queen. Duke stopped as he got to the steps of the ring before walking around. He snagged the briefcase and looked it over before hopping up and onto the apron. Ducking between the top and the middle ropes, he walked towards Brookford and handed him the briefcase. Duke Andrews: Now I’ve been listening to what the marks have been saying since I tweeted at you after Glory Horizons. It’s simple, and I’m sure you know what I’m getting at. Duke turned his back away from Brookford and looked down at the bottom of the ramp where Alan Envy stood. He feared nothing in this situation. Duke Andrews: To be honest here Nathaniel, you’re the deadliest son of a bitch in this company to what I hold in my hand. You’re the guy that should be making my life a living hell. And it was cute, really it was cute, what you did at Summer Hits when you disappeared into thin air. Finally Duke turns back to face his biggest challenger at this point. Duke Andrews: But I can see through that bullshit. I know you’re going to wait to cash in and try and surprise me with it. Hell it could be after a match with Melissa Reeves, or when I face the murder train Dusty Douglas, or even when I least expect it. But the thing about this briefcase, Brooksy, is that it fucked me once before. The ability to change the match and cash it in, screwed me almost a year ago. And I’m not the kind of guy that’s going to allow that to happen twice. But I’m glad that you won that title. Duke slapped Brookford on the chest in a congratulatory manner. Duke Andrews: What I went through to get to this point. The hell I went through in every step of the way. Being battered against Hearst and losing the title to the briefcase. To the grueling matches and mind tricks from Iser. Everything that led me to this point right here where I can stand toe to toe with you and look you in the eyes, I promise you, you’ll have to kill me to get this from my hands. And if I can stay speaking nothing but the truth in this moment, when I look at you, I don’t see that killer mentality. I don’t see a guy right now that would walk through hell to take this fifteen pounds of gold and leather off my lap. Duke raised the title in the air as he stepped closer to Brookford. Duke Andrews: I’d say that I hope I’m wrong, but I’m never wrong. With that, Duke dropped the microphone and backed out of the ring. |
The Eldons white Limo was paeked in front of the Universal Studios. Karen, for once without Olly and her daughter Erika were standing next to it, apparently waiting for Clyde when they were approached by the Dalek itself. Kimberly's helper seemed back to its usual self. Did this mean that Williams defeated Optimus Prime and took its Autobot Matrix Of Leadership? Did her crazy plan somehow worked out? Will that count as a title defense? And what the hell is a Matrix Of Leadership? A lot of questions that will remain unanswered. What was confirmed was that the old Dalek was back. Somehow. Kinda. Dalek: ASSESSING THREAT… COMPLETE. THREAT LEVEL: MEDIUM It spoke after scanning Karen and Erika from head to toe. He moved to a janitor cleaning the streets and gave him the same evaluation, demanding that he drop the weapon he was wielding (his mop) or he will be EXTERMINATED. The poor man not only did that, but ran faster than he ever did in his life to get away from the Dalek. Clyde finally appeared, dressed in a Batman armoured suit, only without the mask. An unconvential but probably legal outfit that was, if anything, in keeping with the location. Clyde handed two bags to his mother and sister, apparently they sent him running some errands and buying them something. After greeting the two women, waving his hand as the limo headed back to the Arena, Clyde walked toward his fate. Dalek: STOP, HUMAN! The Genocidal From Outer Space barked in a tone of command. Clyde stopped on his tracks and turned around, finding the Dalek scanning him. Dalek: ASSESSING THREAT… COMPLETE. THREAT LEVEL: WEAK Clyde took offense, that much was clear from the shocked look on his face. As the Dalek was trotting away, the young Eldon did something he was most likely going to regret. Clyde Eldon Jr.: Hey, Rusty! He even chased the Dalek, calling him a second time after being ignored. Clyde Eldon Jr.: I’m talking to you, soda can! Who did you call weak? The Dalek took a moment to scan Clyde a second time. Dalek: YOU, OVERGROWN SACK OF FLESH. NOW LEAVE, OR PREPARE TO BE EXTERMINATED! Clyde wasn’t having none of it. Determined to punish the metallic creature for this insult, perhaps not fully aware of what he was facing or how protective Kim was of her Dalek, he decided to kick it. Bad, bad decision. Eldon immediately clutched his foot, jumping on one leg while cursing his own recklessness. Dalek: ASSESSING THREAT… COMPLETE. THREAT LEVEL: HIGH… EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! First he sprinkled some of that terrible Ghost Chili Juice right in Clyde’s eyes, leaving him blind. Then from an opening on his “body”, a cartoon-like fist appeared, hitting Eldon in his jewels. And then one of his arms stretched in what looked like a prod, poking Clyde on the chest and shocking him with a jolt of electricity. As the kid fell on the floor, the Dalek proudly announced. Dalek: POTENTIAL THREAT: EXTERMINATED. ALL HAIL THE LIZARD QUEEN! And on those words he left, continuing his quest. |
Singles Match Trinity Thompson VS EchoThe russian called the attention of the ringside personnel and demanded that a doctor came out, and quickly. Damian joined her, a quick look at Trinity’s leg was quickly followed by a shake of the head. Tiana joined the Chicago Fight Lab staff and tried to comfort her friend, though you could see on her face how worried she was. Trinity’s sister, Tiff, came out as well, and Millie was with her. The doctor finally arrived, along with two paramedics and a stretcher. They put Trinity on it and carried her backstage, a round of heartfelt applause accompanied the crying young girl on her way out. Yulia and Damian remained inside the ring, the former Riot General Manager looked at Echo who, in the meantime, had been helped out by Nine. “What have you done?” She asked. The answer came quick and cold. “It’s on you.” Said Echo as she walked away. WINNER: Trinity Thompson BY: DQ, 14:38 |
The scene opens backstage. Neil Newman and Sophie O’Brian are standing next to each other. They look ready to go for their tag team title match later tonight. Neil Newman: Karen Eldon, you have always been an annoyance. Do you even know when to shut up? It was bad enough when you were running your mouth about my wife god knows how long. Making ridiculous claims you could never back up. Couldn’t beat Fabolous with your son. I’ll give you credit, like the little engine that could you persevered, managing to con your way into becoming Tag Team Champions. It took a last minute switch of your partner to get the job done. Resourcefulness is one of your gifts too. Congrats. Really. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Neil Newman rolls his eyes. Neil Newman: I hope you’re not banking on Echo affording you the means to escape with the championships tonight. Don’t count on divine intervention playing a role. For the first time since K20 has formed, you’ll need to get through a match on your own merit. Your own skill. Your own resourcefulness. There will be no switching partners at the last minute to give you an advantage or some person holding a grudge to afford you the means to use those championships to hide the fact that you two aren’t as great as you think you are. Randomness may have brought me and Sophie together at Hic Sunt Leones. On our first night as an official team we were one fall away from becoming MWE Tag Team Champions. Since then we have run through EVERYONE who has stood in our way. We beat BreeTee, decorated tag team champions in their own right. Just imagine if we were mere seconds away from becoming champions on our first night as a team months ago months ago, looking how far we have progressed since, us finishing the job we started is the only logical conclusion. Sophie O’Brian: Sun Tzu says, ‘the opportunity to secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.’ Neil and I are both tag team specialists but never before had we teamed together until MWE forced us to; but we used our ingenuity and came up with plans, we worked on our chemistry, and we turned ourselves into quite the formidable team. We have earned our way into this tag team championship opportunity. The Glorious Golden Era has done its part to secure ourselves against the jaws of defeat. But what about you? Sophie points a slender finger at the camera. Sophie O’Brian Your greatest flaw is your overconfidence. As the old serpent the devil himself once found out, pride cometh before a fall. Your pride is the reason you could not defeat Fabulous to become the World Tag Team Champions. Grant, as Neil rightfully pointed out you did wise up and came up with another plan. You did manage to scheme your way into the tag team titles. But what do I see when I read all of your pathetic little self-praises on social media? What do I hear when I listen to you ramble on endlessly about how great you are in your promos? I hear a woman who is overconfident. I see a woman and her tag team partner whose pride has gotten the better of them. You truly believe that you are untouchable and that is the only advantage that Neil and I will need in order to to shock you, shock the MWE locker room, and reclaim the World Tag Team Championship for The Glorious Golden Era. And you can only have yourselves to blame for the crushing defeat. |
MWE Tag Team Championship Match K2O VS Glorious Golden Era WINNER: Glorious Golden Era (STILL MWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS K2O) BY: DQ, 15:55 |
Riot Championship Match Henri Black © VS Pierce ManningStipulation TBA WINNER: Pierce Manning (NEW RIOT CHAMPION) BY: Pinfall (TBTM), 19:03 |
Recorded Earlier Today We come in on a shot of a podium with the new MWE Intercontinental champion’s face on it, as well as a backdrop with his face splattered all over it as well. Standing behind the podium is Matt Stone’s business manager, Nicole Rossi. There are reporters in seats in front of the stage, though they are responsibly spread out. Nicole Rossi: I want to thank you all for coming here tonight to be a part of this important press conference as we celebrate the victory of our new Intercontinental champion. Nicole pauses for a moment, allowing for the reporters in attendance to clap, as she smooths down the front of the navy blue dress she is wearing. Her blonde hair done up in an intricate style that must have taken hours to complete as she steps back from the podium with a wave of her hands to properly introduce her client to the stage. Nicole Rossi: Let’s not waste any time to properly celebrate, here is our wonderful and most talented Intercontinental Champion… MATT STONE! As the crowd give a roaring ovation, at least in his own head, Matt Stone steps out from the set and makes his way on the stage, dressed in an all white suit with a red shirt underneath and a gold chain around his neck like he was the Dragon of Dojima. The Intercontinental championship, a sight to behold of course, was firmly around his waist and a pair of sunglasses were resting atop his perfectly groomed hair. Matt Stone: I thank you for that appreciation, and of course you’re all welcome for having an Intercontinental champion that isn’t going to give up on you all. I will show this championship the respect it truly deserves, unlike certain former champions who just couldn’t quite cut it. And I have a special message for all the young wrestlers out there. There are going to be people along the way who are going to try and undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people side track you, someday when you get where you’re going you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you that put you there and it will be the best feeling in the world. Now I only have time for a few questions here today so let’s not waste any more time on the haters and focus on who we should be...me! So the first question will be from… Matt looks around at the people in the audience who seem rather indifferent to today’s proceedings and stops when he looks to his right. Matt Stone: Yes, Miss Rossi? You had a question? Nicole raises one eyebrow clearly not expecting to be put on the spot like this, before she quickly clears her throat. Nicole Rossi: Sure...why don’t you tell everyone here just how you’re going to stand out compared to all the Intercontinental champions of the past? Matt Stone: An excellent question! Aside from being the best dressed champion this company will ever see, I’m also going to be what many claim to be yet fail at in its most basic form. I’m a wrestler. I can harness any hold, master any move and command any counter available.I’ve proven that I can adapt to these more far out concepts like a ladder match, but my bread and butter is one on one between those ropes and now that I have this title? I’m willing to show that off against anyone on the roster. I’m not going to abandon my duties if I get a little nicked up, I’m going to fight each and every night and show everyone from the people in the back to the people sitting at home and that not only am I the best Intercontinental champion in Millennium's long history, but I am better than each and every one of them. Wouldn’t you agree? Nicole Rossi: t all sounds great, but I think you’re forgetting the one person who has been pushing you to that next level… Matt Stone: Well I think that about wraps up this appearance, of course autographs will be made available to those of you… He stops when he notices Nicole taking a step towards him. Matt Stone: Ahem...and of course none of this would have been possible without the support and encouragement from my lovely business manager, Nicole Rossi, let’s hear it for her! This time the reporters actually start to clap, clearly more interested in the beautiful blonde than they are in Matt, and she places her hands on her hips while giving him a smug smirk. Nicole Rossi: ...I think we know who the people really came here to see today. Matt Stone: Well good, you can sign the autographs then and I’ll head back to the hotel, goodnight everybody! With that the MWE Intercontinental champion waves to the crowd and takes his leave from the stage leaving Nicole standing there to look puzzled. |
Triple Threat Match Tank Steiner VS Dante Cutler VS Dustin DouglasWINNER: No Contest BY: Outside Interference, 11:40 |
Chicago Way Championship Match Kimberly Williams © VS TBAUniversal Studios Street Fight They were now ready for the grand finale, taking place, and it couldn’t be otherwise, in the area where the Special Effects show usually took place. Which, by the way, was one of the areas the referee warned them not to enter. Oh well. Needless to say that the two had fun using all kinds of props the stuntmen usually work with, some of those to ridiculous effects. The ending though was far from funny as the two reached an area set up for an explosion stunt. Somehow, someone triggered the pyros and the whole set blew off with Kimberly and Kenzie in. And when the spectacular explosion finished, both women were laying down. The referee immediately stopped the match and called the paramedics. After a moment of apprehension, both Kimberly and Kenzie slowly started getting up to their feet. Battered, bruised and slightly charred, but all things considered, they both looked fine. WINNER: // (STILL CHICAGO WAY CHAMPION KIMBERLY WILLIAMS) BY: Referee Stoppage, 21:30 |
“What’s occurring, Los Angeles?” cries Lowri Moss, who is standing somewhere backstage at The Hollywood Bowl. The Cloud Gate Champion starts by reflecting on her non-title victory last month at Summer Hits against the new Lockdown Champion, Kyle Butler. She reminds everyone that it is the second time in recent months that she has been successful in a champion versus champion match, following her win in the Champions Showdown a few months ago against the Chicago Way Champion, Kimberly Williams, and the then-Lockdown Champion, Dusty Douglas. Her match against Kyle Butler was very different to that match back in May though, and not just because it was a one-on-one match, rather than a triple threat, but also because Kyle provided her with a different type of opponent-- a different challenge. Lowri praises Kyle for the fight that he gave her in their match, but he could not stop her from coming out on top, and again asserting herself as “the best champion on Millennium.” She then wishes him the best for his reign as Lockdown Champion. On the subject of different challenges, that brings Lowri onto her match tonight, in which she will be defending the Cloud Gate title against Faith Savell. Prior to her match at Glory Horizons, when she successfully defended her title against Faith’s fellow Academy graduate Faizah Marshall, Lowri said she had not forgotten that Faith still had a guaranteed title shot of her own to take advantage of, and it was little surprise to Lowri that Faith chose to use it to compete for the Cloud Gate title, the only question had been when would she use it? Faith earned this opportunity by graduating from the Academy as its Valedictorian, and now she says she wants to prove that she is “the best thing in Millennium.” There is one problem with that though: she is about to step into the ring with Millennium’s actual best. On Faith and Faizah’s first night as part of Millennium, Lowri told them both that if they wanted the best, then there was only one choice that they should make; Faizah made the right choice, and now so has Faith. At Glory Horizons, Lowri proved that Faizah is not the “The Best At Everything,” and tonight, she is going to show Faith who the best thing in Millennium really is, as she finishes by saying that she is not ready for the sun to go to down on her reign as Cloud Gate Champion just yet. |
