People are filing out one by one from the theater discussing the movie they saw. Out from the crowd comes Karen Eldon wearing a red ribbed mini dress and Gabriel Landry wearing a jacket, shirt and jeans. The two are locked arms as they exit the theater, Karen having a bit of a laugh.
Karen Eldon:
“You know I didn’t expect to like that movie but it wasn’t half bad. Glad I was able to get you out before you get stuck in the Academy like a prisoner in a few days.”
Gabriel Landry:
“I hope they serve decent food.”
Gabriel laughs.
Gabriel Landry:
“Been meaning to see Free Guy, just slipped my mind. I am glad I was able to see it with you.”
Karen smiles, biting her lip as she looks over Gabriel a bit.
Karen Eldon:
“You know, you deciding to go out on a date with me right before going into the Academy is a bit of a risk. I am not exactly a favorite of theirs. In fact they all hate me. And to be honest, I don’t plan on changing my ways at all.”
Gabriel Landry:
“I wouldn’t want you to.”
Gabriel holds Karen’s hands. There is a starstruckeness on his face when he looks at Karen.
Gabriel Landry:
“My dad impressed on me that we can’t let other people dictate how we live our lives. Can’t be too bothered by what they think. You’ve been great to me. All I care about.”
Karen Eldon:
“So you don’t care about the backlash you’ll get about dating me? The jokes about our age difference? None of that will matter if we take this further than?”
Karen says this somewhat expecting that her strong demeanor may scare off a lot of people, even more so a young man like Gabriel just trying to get his start.
Gabriel Landry:
“I won’t deny whatever backlash I may get will be a challenge. Can’t be naive to that. Karen--”
Gabriel rests his hands on Karen’s hips.
Gabriel Landry:
“-- seeing what is possible between us is worth it. You're beautiful. Smart. Ambitious. I have to pinch myself to make sure all of this is real. I won’t let any possible laughs or criticisms ruin what we could have.”
Hearing him talk, Karen stares up at him clearly really liking everything he has to say. As smitten as he is, it seems that she might just have those same feelings.
Karen Eldon:
“I’ll be honest when we made these plans, I thought it might be a fun little night or two. But you are saying and doing everything right. Only hard part will be dealing with you being stuck in the Academy on Monday through Friday. But guess that just means we’ll have to make the weekends worth it.”
Karen turns, putting her arms around Gabriel’s neck. Pulling him down towards her a bit, as he places his hands around her waist.
Karen Eldon:
“And all this? Is very much real. As is the fact that I don’t go home with guys on the first date…”
Gabriel goes to speak up, likely to insist that he doesn’t mind if they don’t do that but Karen stops him with a peck on the lips.
Karen Eldon:
“Good thing we did dinner the other night. Your place or mine?”
Karen smiles, biting her lip as she turns to let him lead the way to his car.
Gabriel Landry:
“Judging by that one photo you posted on Twitter, your bed looks comfortable.”
He says, smiling.
Karen Eldon:
“Let’s go then…”
Exiting with Gabriel the two head to the parking lot, for what seems like a much longer night. The two seem like a very unlikely pair and one that will likely cause a lot of speculation and doubt to motives. But as they walk away together despite it all the two seem happy.
