Gimmick
Doesn't have much of a gimmick. Just a veteran wrestler jaded by long years on the road.
Personality:
Duncan is weary from long years travelling around the country trying to get booked for matches and doing other odd jobs to make ends meet.
Strengths
Technical Wrestling - Duncan was trained in the traditional British Wrestling style and is an adept chain wrestler and submission artist.
Bull Headed - Duncan firmly believes that on his best day he can beat anyone in the world and is determined to prove it. This will can keep him fighting when others would have quit.
Weaknesses
Alcoholic - Duncan has been an alcoholic for about six years. Late last year he was able to turn and corner and has been doing well but stresses and disappointments have made it harder for him to stay clean.
Strung Out - Constant long days of travel have messed up Duncan's sleep patterns, nutrion and training schedule. Despite claims he would make to the contrary, he is certainly not in the best shape of his life.

CHARACTER HISTORY/BIO
Former 2x UGWC Cooperative (Tag Team) Champion
Former UGWC Chaos (Hardcore) Champion
Duncan was raised in a good area to fairly successful parents. He did well enough in school and was fairly popular. As a kid he was always an athlete and played football and rugby.
Duncan eventually went to University to study sport science and keep playing Rugby. When he graduated and realised he aims of being a professional rugby player weren’t going to plan out he looked for a new physical outlet. This is when he started professional wrestling.
Though he lacked experience, Duncan’s natural athleticism gave him a great deal of potential which more experienced trainers could see. Though he didn't have great success in the UK, he was signed as part of a talent exchange with GIW who believed with the right nurturing he could become a future star. He was sent with his reluctant partner Johnny to develop in GIW.
As the Thames Valley Hit Squad Duncan and Johnny had a shaky start in GIW, failing to capture the GIW Tag Team titles on several occasions. It wasn't until GIW merged with LWF to become UGWC that they gained some notoriety. First they became the Royal 1st Battalion, a gimmick concocted by new UGWC Head of Creative Moss Edwards that saw the pair playing members of the British military (circa War of Independence) come to reclaim the United States for Queen and Country. In this time Duncan and Johnny became UGWC Cooperative Champions for the first time by defeating Donovan Hastings and Jet Somers.
In the end of the year the Champions popularity plummeted and they were threatened with release. They were however saved by Robert Ooley on the condition that they defend the titles against Freak Show Central. In a close run First Blood Match the champions retained and returned in 2011 once again as the Thames Valley Hit Squad.
The Hit Squad became UGWC's most prolific Cooperative Champions and became a part of Ooley's newly formed Human Resources Department. They held the titles all year up until Battleground, minus one week where they were defeated by Freak Show Central, only to reclaim the belts the following show.
The team folded however the first show after their second title defeat with Duncan brutalising Johnny to the point where he needed to be stretchered out of the arena. Duncan looked to prove himself as a singles competitor but had limited success. His run ended at Horizons 2011 when Johnny Blake returned from injury looking for revenge. Ryder was last seen being chased from the arena by his former Cooperative partner wielding a pair of baseball bats.
Duncan wasn't seen again until 2015. In the years since being seemingly exiled from UGWC it turned out that he had fled to Mexico. Events had led him to become the masked wrestler El Blanco Leo and competed to raise money for a local orphanage. He returned at Wrestlestock and despite picking up a victory on day one, did not advance to the Wrestlestock Cup final. Inspired by his success and the promise of better pay days, El Blanco Leo remained with UGWC until the next PPV, Outlast, for which he was recruited to be a part of Team Williams. El Blanco Leo was the second competitor eliminated and was unmasked by Phrixus Deimos. He was subsequently pelted with garbage and booed out of the arena.
He wasn't heard from for over four years, having spent that time working the indie circuit in Texas and moonlighting as a bouncer. However, though not invited, the UGWC 10th Anniversary Celebrations drew Duncan Ryder back to Chicago.
His year has not gone well, being humiliated by Robert Ooley in his attempts to swiftly claim the UGWC World Heavyweight title. This was followed by a failure to avenge himself upon Phrixus Deimos and claim the Cross-Hemisphere title at In Yours Hands. At Coalescence he was forced to team with former Thames Valley Hit Squad partner Johnny Blake in an unsuccessful attempt to prove themselves the greatest Cooperative team in UGWC history against the Piercing Weapons. This was followed at No Holds Barred by Duncan abandoning Johnny inside his cell during a Prison Break match, wilfully costing them any chance at the Cooperative titles. A disappointing showing at Massive Melee followed, in turn followed by a disappointing entry into the Wrestlestock Cup.
All of which led to Duncan challenging for the Chaos title at Kobayashi Maru which he won but was only able to defend once.
After a victory over Sloane Taylor at Horizons, Duncan's 2021 started with a disappointing Global Challenge campaign. Going into Infinity Duncan had hoped that his performance over the past year would earn him better terms when his contract came up for renewal. This was not the case though, instead, having made an enemy of HR Director Ooley, Duncan's contract was not extended and he was cut from the promotion.
He now travels the country in search of bookings and his ever elusive next paycheck.
