Singles Match
Razzles Mars VS Nine van der HoekNine van der Hoek opened Riot in Rhode Island against the Reigning Queen Of Candyland, Razzles Mars. For her opponent’s characteristics, this was a very different match than the one she fought last week, that much was clear from the start. Rather than waiting and relying on counters, Mars came out swinging, surprising the New Problem with a quick flurry of kicks. Nine backed down trying to stay out of reach and looking for the opening to strike back. She blocked one kick but before she could take the Brit down with a dragon screw, Razzles clobbed her with an enziguri. Nine stumbled into the ropes, but when Mars charged toward her, she sent her up and over the top rope. She thought she had bought herself some time but Razzles landed on the apron and quickly delivered a high kick to the head, followed by the Mars-ipan Kablam slingshot ddt. Razzles hooked both legs to make the cover but Nine kicked out in two. Sailor Mars stayed on the attack, grabbing Nine’s arm and running up the ropes for a springboard arm drag, throwing Nine across the ring. Mars charged again, running right into a different version of the same move from the Dutch, who transitioned immediately into an armbar, bending her fingers back, manipulating the joints. The young Brit dragged herself toward the ropes that, luckily for her, weren’t too far away. Nine kept the submission locked in for five more seconds, letting her go under the threat of a disqualification. Using her technical ability, Nine slowed down the pace to one that suited best her set of skills. Most of her attacks aimed at that right arm, the same Echo broke back in December, not only with holds and painful locks but direct strikes as well. The ruthless Dutch was stomping at the elbow, wrist and even at the hand, leaving the young girl clutching her arm in agony. She once again grabbed it and wrenched, bending it in a way it’s not supposed to bend. Too far away from the ropes, Razzles struggled and tried to break free, somehow managing to slip out of the submission. But the damage was done, you could tell by the way she was keeping that arm limp against her body. Despite that, Mars kept on fighting, relying on her kicks instead. A roundhouse floored Nine and Razzles was quick to climb the post to jump onto her with the Mars Rover (diving somersault legdrop), but it wasn’t enough to beat the Frisian demon. Van der Hoes tried again a minute later with the Curiosity Killer scorpion kick, but Nine dodged it by moving away at the last second and grabbed a handful of hair, pulling the opponent down into a backbreaker, followed by a knee strike to the back of the head that dropped the Londoner on all four. The New Problem waited until she got to her knees to plant her on her face with a somersault cutter, rolling through to lock her in an arm trap crossface. It wasn’t long before Razzles had to tap out, and even though giving up marked the end of the match, she had to suffer a little longer before Nine finally let her go. WINNER: Nine van der Hoek BY: Submission (The Seventh Nightmare), 9:13 |
"The Burning Heart" James Edwards is all business as walks toward the stage entrance.
James Edwards:
It's just a fight. All business and nothing personal.
His tone of voice is remarkably even keel considering his history with the woman who awaits him in the ring.
James Edwards:
I said the past is the past, Tiffany, and I meant it. I don't wanna or have the time to play games. Tonight is too important for that stupid shit.
A win is always enough to keep him focused but a title shot guarantees it.
James Edwards:
And I know that's all you've got. You don't have any clients to distract me or champagne bottles to bust over my head. It's just you and me, one-on-one, Tiffany, and trust me I'm not gonna' give you enough time to play games. You're gonna have to fight and if I'm being honest, you don't have it in you to survive a James Edwards kinda fight. Just sayin'.
Maybe he is being a bit cocky and there's a good chance it may bite him in the ass, but history tells him he will be correct in this case.
The scene opens inside of a locker room. The two people occupying the space are Neil Newman and Kyle Butler. Neil is on the floor doing his customary push up pre match ritual while Kyle Butler is sitting on a black steel folding chair in quiet contemplation. Neil stops his push ups. He rolls over on his back, transitioning into performing sit ups.
Neil Newman:
What’s wrong, bud? You’ve been dead quiet, I don’t like that. You haven’t said roll tide once today so what gives?
Neil completes another rep of sit ups as he says that. Kyle raises an eyebrow. Neil stops doing sit ups. Kyle finally looks at his best friends.
Kyle Butler:
I just don’t want to let Glory down, that’s all. Tonight could be a huge momentum boost for her. This is your first match after losing to Alex. I already screwed up a chance to gain momentum for myself, don’t want you guys slagging because of me.
Neil rolls his eyes.
Neil Newman:
Tonight will make or break no one. Don’t give into that nonsense.
Kyle sighs.
Kyle Butler:
Easy for you to say. You won a singles title. Glory is on her way to becoming World Champion.
Neil Newman:
I liked it better when you were a goofball, not whatever you’ve become. Listen. I won’t have any of this doom and gloom shit. Ok?! You don’t see me crying a river losing to Alex! And you never will.
Kyle shakes his head.
Kyle Butler:
The Neil Newman I know wouldn’t be at peace losing a championship. What gives? What makes Alex so special?
Neil shrugs.
Neil Newman:
Not relevant. What is relevant is your sad ass getting your head back in the game. We are the Golden Era. Glorious Golden Era tonight. The point stands.
Neil pulls himself off the floor. He places his hand on Kyle’s shoulder. His best friend looks up at him.
Neil Newman:
We are still the best tag team in the sport. Period. We go out there. Remind Seth, Megan and Pierce who the standard is in this sport.
Before Kyle can respond, there is a knock on the door. Neil goes over to answer. To his surprise Bree Smith is standing outside.
Bree Smith:
Am I interrupting? I can come back.
Neil looks over at Kyle. Then back to Bree.
Neil Newman:
Not at all. In fact, Kyle needs to get his head out of his ass. I’ll be in your debt if you can snap him out of it.
Neil looks at Kyle one more time.
Neil Newman:
We’ll catch up later, I’ll keep myself busy elsewhere.
Neil nods at Bree. He leaves Kyle and Bree alone. Bree closes the door behind her. She walks over to Kyle Butler.
Bree Smith:
So, big main event tonight hmm?
Bree makes herself comfortable with unfolding a chair and sits on it backwards so she can rest her arms on the backrest.
Bree Smith:
How you feeling after that tweet you posted?
The tweet Bree is referring to is when Kyle conceded he had a lot to think about after his loss to Duke Andrews. He shrugs his shoulders.
Kyle Butler:
A little better. Not much. Been mainly focusing on not letting Neil and Glory down. Don’t want to be the weak link in this chain, ya know.
Bree Smith:
True. I don't think you will be tonight, although I've not had much trio experience either.
Kyle Butler:
I have faith that me Neil and Glory will be a well oiled machine. We have outlasted A.P.E, Sandstorm Inc, those groups couldn’t stand the test of time. Triumvirate can’t last, look at the egos involved in that? Since me and Neil decided to try out hand at singles wrestling, he became MENTV Champion. Glory is one of several contenders for the World Title. All I’ve done is come up short...
Kyle sighs.
Kyle Butler:
Sorry. I need to be positive. Don’t mean to be a killjoy. Ha. Neil was right. I have changed. I used to laugh these things off. I... can’t anymore.
Bree Smith:
Maybe you can kick these things off. Next time you're in a singles bout, and use tonight to fuel that drive, with monster momentum from getting a win in the main event with your closest buds. It'll bree your time too, you just need to take the positive mindset.
Bree points to her red hat covered temple, then makes two fists with her hands.
Bree Smith:
And channel it into your whole body to work towards that goal you've got on your mind that needs achieving. Right?
A smile forms on Kyle’s face.
Kyle Butler:
It’s crazy. Over a year ago you and me were warring over the tag team titles. Giving each other a lot of crap. I blame Neil by the way, he can be a prick sometime.
Kyle chuckles indicating that ribbing his best friend is just par for the course.
Kyle Butler:
Battle for who was the best aside, I always thought you were cool. There’s this comforting energy about you. You’re not like most of the people in this company. Jesus, this company, cast of characters, I try to keep to myself, do my job. I am glad I reached out. You’ve been a good friend, Bree. I wouldn’t change anything for the world.
Kyle smiles.
Bree Smith:
Now don't go all mushy on me, you've got to bring out that #KillerKyleInstinct.
Bree says while making a hashtag sign with both her hands.
Bree Smith:
But thanks, and I won't.
Kyle Butler:
Killer Kyle Instinct huh? I love the sound of that baybeeeeeeeeee!!
Kyle thumps his chest a couple times. He stands up. So does Bree. He gives her a quick hug.
Kyle Butler:
Thanks for the talk. I gotta go find Neil. Tomorrow I’ll see you at the gym.
Bree nods. Kyle walks off towards the door, Bree isn’t too far behind. He goes off to find his tag team partner and Bree goes wherever she’s headed as the scene fades.

James Edwards VS Tiffany Lynn Page
Successful strange bedfellows two weeks ago, Tiffany and James saw their relationship taking another turn last week when The Burning Heart wore the striped shirt and officiated Page’s match against Mahoney. His absolutely impartial performance left a dissatisfied customer in the Diva who was expecting a treatment of favor due to their history that goes back to their OATH days. The bell sounded and Jamesi got Tiffany in a wristlock to start. Page reversed it but he switched it back. The bombshell went to the ropes for the break, realizing that, with the power and technical advantage on James’ side, she needed a different approach. Always the sportsman, James let go immediately, but in return he got a thumb to the eye. Tiffany drove his face into the canvas with a bulldog and quickly followed with an elbow drop to the back. Her Irish whip attempt was countered by James who once again imposed his physicality with a hard shoulder block. Tiffany popped right back up but she was hit by a second and then a third. The Burning Heart then went for a single leg Boston crab but just like before Tiffany quickly crawled to the ropes. Edwards put her on the top turnbuckle and joined her, looking to connect a superplex. Tiffany fought back with right hands into James’ side while holding desperately on the ropes with her left. He wasn’t letting her go despite the sharp punches to the ribs, so Page had to use her head, headbutting the multi-time champion and knocking him off the corner. She, instead, waited there, perching on the top rope, until he picked himself up, then jumped and knocked him down with a missile dropkick Eight minutes in and both competitors were down, already showing signs of what had been a very demanding contest. They traded elbows as they slowly returned to their feet, James was winning the exchange until Tiffany surprised him with a throat jab, hitting a low dropkick that left him hanging on the second rope. Tiger feint kick by Lynn Page followed by her PAWG (cartwheel into a backflip knee drop) for a count of two. Tiffany went off the ropes but James avoided her boot and delivered a belly-to-back suplex for another count of two. He picked her up and whipped her in the corner, charging for a running clothesline. He wrapped his arm around her head and ran out of the corner for a bulldog but Tiffany pushed him away. James was quick to swing his leg back and catch her with a kick to the stomach, setting her up for an ace crusher, worth another long two. The Burning Heart was firmly in control, keeping pressure on Tiffany with his hard strikes, dropping her with a snapmare driver. Once again Page raised her shoulder in time and rolled under the bottom rope to catch a break. James went to drag her back in, looking to end this match and earn his title shot. But Tiffany jumped off the apron, dragging him neck first on the top rope. James bounced off and stumbled toward the center of the ring. A diving bulldog from Page slammed him into the canvas but wasn’t enough to keep him down. She tried with the Prima Donna (chick kick) and a springboard moonsault, to no avail Edwards kicked out from the Sex In The City codebreaker as well, showing once again how tough he is. Desperate times called for desperate measures and Page began undoing the protective pad from the top turnbuckle. The referee obviously stopped her and put it back in place, but she took that time to hit James with a low blow/All Eyes On Me combination. That was enough to keep Edwards down, but to be extra sure she leaned her feet on the middle rope for extra leverage. WINNER: Tiffany Lynn Page BY: Pinfall (All Eyes On Me), 11:44 |
We then head backstage where we have a look at a group that’s now back together in full after one man took a little time off to heal some injuries in The Triumvirate. The trio is also wearing their own version of matching gear with gold being the common color choice. The new interviewer, Robbie Hayden is approaching the trio as it seems they’re in mid conversation about something with Seth in mid thought about something important.
Seth Iser:
Yeah that hand placement where I said is good for at least five pounds of extra leverage...maybe even ten if the opponent is a little smaller or is sucking a little more air.
Megan and Pierce both look at him with a brief nod.
Pierce Manning:
Learn something new every day…
Robbie Hayden:
Excuse me…you three have a moment?
The three of them hear the voice and Megan’s the one who colorfully reacts with a roll of the eyes before literally evil eyeing the man approaching them. Seth just eyeballs the man with a neutral expression and Pierce’s is a little closer to Megan’s all things considered.
Robbie Hayden:
The three of you are together this evening despite a title match looming...what are your thoughts on the matter?
Megan rolls her eyes so hard they’re in orbit while Pierce just glares a hole through the man while Seth just calmly grabs hold of the microphone now stuck in their general direction.
Seth Iser:
Son, you just lost your interview privileges for the evening.
With that calm announcement Megan and Pierce then grab poor Robbie by the scruff of the neck and in one swift motion literally toss him off of frame.
Robbie Hayden:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
After we hear a thud with pipes being dropped and a box obviously being shattered Seth gestures for the camera man to come closer after Megan grabs some hand sanitizer for herself.
Seth Iser:
But what do you know...we have ourselves a little bit of fun considering who we just drew tonight. Little bit ironic considering what I specifically said last week but I had a feeling it’d be something involving those three. But the Glorious Golden Era is in front of all of us. I have to say though...Ol Fifteen Time and Melissa had a fun little fight all over social media.
There’s a smirk coming across Iser’s face as he seems more amused by that situation.
Seth Iser:
Hell, Glory...after what you said last week that little fight where you obviously ticked the other off feels like a small bit of projection. If you need me to recount or didn’t tune in last week I will briefly...I don’t fault Megan in the slightest for wanting the championship around my waist. It should be the goal of everybody in this locker room to eventually get to where I’m at one way or another. If she’s the one that does it and takes it off of me?
He then has a knowing smile etched on his face.
Seth Iser:
I ain’t Blyss so I’d say job well done. Now I’m the one who learned from you on that day. It also proves that I was right. That Pierce here was right to believe in her as well. We didn’t choose our name because it sounded cool. We’re three equals each capable of getting to the pinnacle of the sport while also learning from one another...shoring up whatever flaws we may have while we’re piece by piece going to end up transcending wrestling lore itself. Our legacy...un-goddamned-deniable. That’s how great we’re going to be. Something that eclipses even a group lead by a fifteen time World Champion! Tell me though Glory considering some of the stunts I’ve seen your group pull just last year…
The smile has long disappeared with the usual glare taking its place.
Seth Iser:
Things kind of corrupted you a little for a while...and I don’t think you have the room to be playing the disrespect card right now. Though all this time turned you into one hell of a comedian. Coming apart already you thought we were...that’s a good joke. I don’t laugh often but that made me chuckle…so credit to you for that.
He shakes his head after that.
Seth Iser:
But you really think Megan or I will let you get to number sixteen in that cage? I doubt that’s going to happen...hell, you’re one who has made herself a bigger target and more enemies of late. For a veteran, that felt like a rookie ploy and a rookie move and you know better considering the amount of times you’ve been to the top of the mountain. I guess it’s our job to teach you and your crew who don’t seem ambitious enough to take the steps Megan or Pierce have of late a lesson in that ring. It won’t be pretty for you three...but one of you needs a little bit of a humbling and the rest of your group just enables you rather then make you better then you already are…
The champion’s face curls to a frown before letting out a sigh before turning toward both Pierce and Megan, even starting to gesture to hand the microphone in their direction.
Seth Iser:
Tanta stultitia mortalium est. Am I right?
Pierce nods understanding what Seth just said.
Pierce Manning:
Couldn’t agree more.
Pierce cracks his knuckles, this is the first time he’s been on screen since the Last Man Standing match took a toll on him. No mistaken he is excited to get back into the swing of things.
Pierce Manning:
First order of business... how have I processed losing the Riot Championship? Contrary to what Glory said last week about Triumvirate falling apart at the seams cause me and Megan are currently gold-less, I’m in good spirits. There is a huge difference between the guy you knew years ago when I worked for you and the version of me that stands alongside two of the best this ever birthed. Security.
I am secure in who I am. I am proud of the progress I made. Being the only person to defend the MENTV Championship five times, to bet on myself to become the Riot Champion. To hold my own against Henri in his own environment. I’ll never be a fan of the guy personally, he went from overlooking me entirely to conceding the next time we meet he’ll never make that mistake again. Took him long enough. I’ll accept the recognition.
Pierce flashes a sly smirk.
Pierce Manning:
The man before I came to MWE didn’t deserve that level of respect. You can’t create a diamond without a little pressure. You are looking at a certified diamond, not a man coming apart at the seams. As great as it was being Riot Champion, that title was always a stepping stone to a greater prize. The MWE World Championship.
Pierce points to the MWE World Championship that Seth is in possession of.
Pierce Manning:
Seth is right. Anyone who becomes a professional wrestler should want to become World Champion, makes absolute sense. He doesn’t begrudge Megan for wanting to become the top of the mountain. He doesn’t fault me for harboring the same desire. Should Megan become World Champion, he would shake her hand. No question about it. We know the type of man that Seth is, he cares about this sport. Not everyone is worthy of the knowledge he passes down. He chose us for a reason. How about you Glory. Why did you choose Kyle and Neil?”
This isn’t the first time we’ve done this dance. The Glorious Golden Era wouldn’t exist if me and my former ally Jenni Anderson didn’t give you and Henri fits. You formed your own little utopian hit squad under a belief you want to make wrestling better. Don’t act like The Glorious Golden Era aren’t guilty for the same tactics you condemn today. Hypocrisy isn’t a look you wear well, Glory. With all your self righteousness have you made this sport better? Even now, you are questioning the so-called cracks of Triumvirate. What about the flaw of your Glorious Golden Era? We’re not faulting you for wanting to become a sixteen time World Champion. Far from it. You don’t exactly speak as much about your boys like you used to. Hearing you talk, reading your tweets, I sincerely questioned whether Glorious Golden Era still existed. For as selfish as you claim the rest of us are, you are the one in search of your own personal glory... pun intended.
Pierce pauses for dramatic effect.
Pierce Manning:
If me and Megan losing the IC and Riot respectively are showing cracks. Neil lost the MENTV; Kyle whines about finding his groove. You got into an emotional exchange with Melissa earlier in the week, so which three person group are truly showing cracks? Us or you Glory Braddock featuring Neil Newman and Kyle Butler?
Whoever said perception is reality didn’t meet me, Megan and Seth. Your perception is wrong Glory, per usual. Triumvirate is the reality. One of the things I love about Megan is when she speaks the unfiltered truth. Break down how fucked Glory’s dreams truly are, Megan.
Pierce wraps his arm around Megan’s waist. Megan looks up at Pierce for a moment with a devilish smirk before looking back at the camera, the smirk fades away and she’s now staring daggers into it.
Megan Monroe:
We finally lose and because of that, we’re showing cracks?
She scoffs.
Megan Monroe:
How stupid do you have to be? I was Intercontinental Champion for well over a year and Pierce? He held the MENTV Championship longer than anybody, while also being the only person to successfully defend it each time before earning a shot, and winning, the Riot Championship. Yeah, he might of lost it, but the longevity of success is there. Our era is here to stay, the Triumvirate era. As for the Glorious Golden Era? What’s so glorious or golden about it? If anyone is inconsistent, it’s all of you. And the worst part of your group? It was created out of desperation. Triumvirate? None of us were desperate for help but all three of us have the same vision for this company and like Seth said earlier, we see each other as equals, which is what we are. But you three?
Monroe rolls her eyes hard and shakes her head.
Megan Monroe:
You collectively don’t even come close to us. And while I will be eyeing Seth’s MWE World Championship in that big match? At the end of the day? Seth and I have the advantage. Because we will work together that the championship either stays on his waist or ends up on mine. What matters the most is not letting any of you slimeball, pieces of trash have it and play hot potato with it. Because that’s what people in this company do, due to not having any consistency. But that’s what we bring. Triumvirate brings longevity and power. It brings the best of the best and Triumvirate isn’t something us three need… No, it’s something that Millennium needs. Don’t believe me? Just watch tonight and you’ll see clearly when we decimate and destroy the group made up of fool’s gold.
The three members of Triumvirate nod and go back to talking amongst themselves when the scene cuts away.
Singles Match
Karen Eldon VS Niko Yua (w/ Valkyrie)No love lost between these two competitors, but despite all the bad blood, they started the match with a very careful approach. Niko circled around Eldon, looking for an opening to bring her to the mat with a leg takedown. Karen didn’t leave her any opening , staying at distance and lightly kicking the Japanese in the head when she got too close. Niko eventually was able to grab her by the arm and they got right into it trading holds: wristlock by Niko but Karen rolled out of it and snapmared the Blade Maiden of Tokyo, following with a hard kick to the back. She pushed Niko down and covered her with a lateral press for an easy kick out in one and half. Grabbing a handful of hair, Eldon dragged the opponent to her feet and whipped her against the ropes. She missed the clothesline as Niko ducked under it to hit the ropes on the opposite side and come back with a shoulder tackle. Karen dropped on the mat and before she could get up she received an elbow drop to the chest by the member of Warblade 42, who attempted a cover of her own obtaining the same result as her opponent..Niko managed to keep control for the following minutes, not holding back from some aggressive ground and pound style delivering hard forearm strikes to the back of Karen’s head. Scoop slam by Yua who then hit a moonsault, but Karen raised her shoulder in two..Niko whipped her in the corner and charged in with a running splash, but Eldon raised her boot and stopped the charging opponent. From the second rope, Karen jumped and dropped a double axe handle to the skull of the japanese wrestler, releasing all the frustration with a vicious series of stomps. At the end of it, she pushed the opponent under the bottom rope and demanded that she’d be counted out. The referee obliged but, unsurprisingly, Niko was up to her feet quickly and ready to get back in. Only her torso was inside the ring as she was stepping through the ropes but Eldon wasn’t going to wait, hitting her with a big boot and dropping her on her head with a rope hung ddt. If they somehow held back in the first part of the contest, that was no longer the case now. With Niko stuck in the corner, Karen delivered numerous elbow strikes to her head, stopping only when the referee physically got in between them to separate her from the Japanese after she blatantly ignored his appeal after the five count. The truce only lasted a moment before the woman dove right back in with more elbows, leaving Yua groggy and unable to defend herself from the snap suplex. She still managed to kick out though, and the match continued. As they both rose to their feet, Karen swung with the right hook but Niko caught her with an arm drag. Up to their feet, Eldon charged in one more time but was soon flipped onto the mat with another arm drag, and the same happened one more time right after that. The Baka Buster was pumped up, and the fans were firmly behind her in her effort to teach another lesson to Eldon. Niko waited until the woman started getting up to deliver a vicious running knee to the seated opponent for the cheers of the crowd. Thinking it was enough to get the win, the Blade Maiden hooked the leg but Karen got a foot on the ropes to force the break, With a series of chops, Karen managed to push the opponent back to the center of the ring, switching to forearm strikes now. The Japanese answered with a sharp knee to the stomach, doubling her over and picking her up on her shoulders in a fireman’s carry position. Eldon raked her eyes to get free, receiving another warning by the ref who then went to check on NIko. Eldon sprinted to the ropes, oddly stopping right after bouncing off them. She turned around and started yelling at Valkyrie, who looked at her dumbfounded. The referee went to check what the buzz was all about, and Karen accused Vee of grabbing her leg when she was charging toward Niko. Valkyrie obviously denied it, but the ref didn’t believe her words. As the two argued, Karen pulled out a brass knuckles from her purse in the corner and punched Niko with it, kneeing her face in with the Can I Speak To You Manager, hiding the foreign object in her trunks before calling the referee and make the cover, obtaining the win and getting some payback from Dark Web III. WINNER: Karen Eldon BY: Pinfall (Can I Speak To Your Manager), 10:28 |
We open with Henri Black seated at a table within a Dunkin’ Donuts somewhere in Providence RI, and beside him sits a slightly battered cardboard cutout of himself and the pair seemingly, and bizarrely, having a conversation.
Henri Black:
Don’t worry, I’ll help you train for the rematch buddy, you’ll be the Lizard Champion again.
Noticing that the camera crew have started filming, Henri looks away from his cardboard doppelganger, seemingly dismissing it entirely.
Henri Black:
You’re going to cut that part from the final product, yes? Good. Ladies and gentlemen tonight I’m here to talk to you all about setbacks, and why you should never let them define you.
Henri clasps his hands on the table in front of him and assumes the air of a self-help speaker.
Henri Black:
Let’s start with Domino Effect, I lost my Riot championship to Pierce Manning, this was a setback, but at Dark Web 3 I took my title back. Last week my match with Seth Iser was a setback but I came away from it with knowledge and experience that will ensure a different result the next time I manage to bring Seth to ground, the man is slipperier than a greased eel.
Henri looks up as a steaming mug is placed in front of him along with a small pot of milk, nodding in thanks.
Henri Black:
Now we have tonight, and I’m facing Alan Envy if I can ever figure out which branch of this accursed doughnut chain the match takes place in, and I know full well that he is a dangerous man, but is he as dangerous as I am? I guess we’re going to find out, tonight will either be a victory or another setback.
Henri looks up as the cameraman calls to him that the match is in fact taking place in an arena that is simply named after the doughnut chain.
Henri Black:
Well, that certainly makes more sense, but back to the important stuff, as I said setback does not define me, because, at the end of the day when all is said and done, I will still be who I have always been. Who I will always be. The last man standing.
Cutting backstage, Eloise K. LeBeau could be seen going through a dossier of some sorts, scanning through the pages on a clipboard. As stagehands passed her by, they seemed to be carrying furniture, sofas, chairs, tables and the like. Elkie, as she was known to her closest friends, started directing traffic as they marched on by.
Eloise K. LeBeau:
Keep it coming. Hurry along. You all have your outlines, and we need every in place as soon as humanly possible.
Several stagehands seemed to be carrying cardboard cutouts of tall buildings, little LEDs fitted in them that were flashing in the windows. Eloise looked at them, seemingly a little confused, but she ticked off each piece as they went on by.
Eloise K. LeBeau:
Everything seems in place. I’m not sure why she wants to celebrate becoming the longest reigning Junior Heavyweight Champion like this, but if this is what she wants, this is what she gets.
She muttered to herself, readjusting the blazer on her tight, navy blue blazer. She pushed a strand of hair over her hair as one of the stagehands trotted over with a few sheets of paper.
Stagehand:
Ms. LeBeau, I’ve been asked to give you this script for approval?
Eloise K. LeBeau:
What do you mean by a script?
The elder LeBeau asked, taking the sheets away from the stagehand as they hurried away. As members of the team continued bringing in furniture, and what seemed like the walls of a television set, Eloise looked at the script with absolute horror on her face.
Eloise K. LeBeau:
Oh dear God. Leia, what are you doing?
The camera then cut away, back to ringside and the commentary team, who looked as confused as she was. As the commentary team beginning discussing what this could possibly mean, a little disclaimer ran down by the bottom of the screen, asking viewers to turn in to MWE After Hours for a very special celebration edition in honour of Leia LeBeau’s record breaking Junior Heavyweight Championship reign.
Singles Match
Alan Envy VS Henri BlackBefore the match could even start, Envy dropkicked Black into the corner. The referee Charles ordered for the bell to ring as Alan charged toward the corner with a full head of steam, squashing the Riot champion with a stinger splash. Knowing what a win tonight could entail, and aware of Henri’s poor form with two losses in as many matches, Alan didn’t want to leave anything to chance. He threw Henri in the middle of the ring with a belly to belly suplex, following with a knee drop and a cover for a one count. As soon as the Blackstar kicked out, Alan started raining down lefts and rights from a mounting position, going as far as the referee allowed him before he stepped in and broke it up. Slowly Henri picked himself up and Envy fed him a stiff punch to the jaw that sent him stumbling against the ropes. As the Show Stealer closed in, Black booted him in the midsection and doubled him over, flipping him over the top rope and sending him crashing on the floor down below. It wasn’t a nice landing for Envy who tried to land on his feet and twisted his ankle. Even worse for him, Henri noticed it and a wicked grin appeared on his face. He followed Alan outside, sneaking behind him as the Texan was hopping around on one foot, cursing not-so-much under his breath. The Riot Champion took him down with a chop block and fully took advantage of the surroundings and the ten count to do more damage, slamming Alan’s foot on the steel steps and against the ring post repeatedly before finally taking him back inside the ring. Alan used the ropes to get up and tried to walk around, visibly limping and barely able to put weight on that foot. Henri gave him some space, enjoying the suffering on the Iconic’s face. Then, right when Alan seemed to have recovered at least partly, some usability to that foot, Henri floored him with the Black Diamond. If there’s one thing you have to give Envy credit for is that he doesn’t quit. Even with the injured leg, the Lonestar kept on fighting. He turned Henri inside out with a discus lariat and lifted him in a suplex position for his gourdbuster. He tried to end it quickly, knowing that the slightest mistake would have given Henri the opening to turn the tides. And with an ankle in such bad shape, that was the last thing he wanted. He hit hard with his dirty brawling style, unafraid to use closed fists and headbutt paving the way to a powerbomb. The effort he made to lift Henti over his shoulders sent a flash of pain to his ankle and caused him to waste a precious couple of seconds before dropping on top of the Riot champion and hooking, thus allowing him to kick out easily. Not wanting to risk doing further damage and losing the advantage he so hardly fought to obtain, Alan went for a submission, trying to lock the Aussie in the Paying Dues. But Black had it scouted and, counting on a sublime technique, easily slipped out of it before Henri could actually lock it. Wasting no time, Henri hit a second Black Diamond, this time to the back of the head. Then he proceeded to stomp at Alan’s ankle, at least ten times before dragging him up and lift him for a shin breaker. Keeping hold on the foot, he applied incredible pressure on that bad ankle with his Memento Mori, his patented ankle lock with grapevine. The Lonestar was left with no choice but to tap. WINNER: Henri Black BY: Submission (Memento Mori), 11:28 |
We see Alex Andrews sitting on the floor of a gym, no on else in sight. She's panting, obviously just finishing up a workout. Alex reaches over and manages to grab a towel from her gym bag and pats herself down with it before just covering her head with it.
Alex Andrews:
No rest for the weary, right?
She chuckles from underneath the towel and pulls it off, peering at the camera before her.
Alex Andrews:
From one defense to another. Not that I mind. I do want to be known as a defending champion. Though, I wouldn't exactly say I successfully defended my belt against Alexus. I merely survived.
A faint smile on her face.
Alex Andrews:
I don't know what else that can be said about that. She's big and bad, I just managed to slip by her, I suppose.
Alex runs her hand through her hair, leaning her head against the wall behind her.
Alex Andrews:
But I can't focus on that, on surviving The South African She-Hulk. I have to maintain focus on those who definitely have an eye on my gold. Like Tiffany Lynn Page, like James Edwards, like Siobhan Mahoney.
Alex raises her head back up.
Alex Andrews:
Siobhan. I know you're... complicated. One glance can tell anyone that. But I also know you're very talented. I've seen you at work, and you excel despite your own feelings about yourself. So yeah, I know you're dangerous and a serious threat to my championship.
She shakes her head slightly and reaches over to pull out her MENTV Championship belt and lay it across her lap.
Alex Andrews:
Things didn't exactly go our way the last time we were in the ring together. Hell, I got pinned. And yeah, I was bit emotional about it. Excuse me for wearing my emotions on my sleeve sometimes.
Alex slowly makes it up to her feet.
Alex Andrews:
But I won't apologize for it. And I won't apologize for what I'm going to have to do in the ring with you. I may still be a bit new at this, but it's going to take a hell of a lot to pry this from me. I scratched and clawed to get any sort of momentum in this company. One step forward. One step back. Over and over. And I am not ready to give this up. Not yet. I'm looking to make my own legacy in this business and I'm not going to be just some footnote in this belt's history. People are going to remember the name Alex Andrews. I guarantee that much.
Alex grabs her things, her towel, her gym bag and heads on out, still a bit on edge in her posture as she walks away.
MENTV Championship Match
Alex Andrews © VS Siobhan MahoneyThe two competitors walked into this match knowing that they will have to defend it against Tiffany Lynn Page. What remains to be determined is whether it will be Alex’ third defense or Siobhan’s first one. The bell rang and the fifteen minutes countdown started. The two locked up in the middle of the ring in a collar and elbow tie up, Alex quickly shifted into a headlock but Mahoney reversed it. The champion slipped out of the headlock and shoved Siobhan against the ropes, sending her flying over her head with a back body drop. The Human Disaster tried to pick herself up but she received a hard kick to the back from Andrews who then moved in to apply a sleeper. The Northern Irish muscled up and drove the opponent into the corner, quickly turning around and starting to deliver hard forearms and knees to the champion’s torso. Siobhan tossed Lady Limitless in the other corner with such strength that the MENTV champion basically bounced against it and stumbled into a well executed bridging northern lights suplex from Mahoney. Kick out in two by the defending champion, but the challenger wasn’t slowing down, attacking her with a number of stomps. Alex blocked her foot and rose to her feet, taking Siobhan down with a dragon screw leg whip. First pin attempt by Andrews came with the Mouse Trap, a modified version of La Magistral that almost caught Siobhan off guard, but the challenger managed to kick out dangerously close to three. The match continued with a hard hitting exchange, the two women traded stiff strikes back and forth firing up the crowd. Even though the vast majority of them were supporting the champion, the few backing the Human Disaster were quite vocal and let their voices be heard. We don’t know if it was the unexpected support received, but Siobhan came out on top from this sequence, grabbing the head of the stunned champion and driving it into the canvas with her Blarney Stoned (sitout facebuster). Alex crawled toward the ropes and received a couple of stomps on the spine before she could reach them and start picking herself up. Mahoney wasn’t letting her do it, placing a knee between her shoulder blades and pushing down, choking Alex on the middle rope. The referee instantly started the count, and warned Siobhan when she finally let go right before his count reached five. As Andrews was catching her breath, Siobhan grabbed her by the hair and dragged her in the middle of the ring for the Morrigan’s Curse (swinging neckbreaker), coming milliseconds away from taking the title. The champion’s reaction came when she countered an irish whip and squashed her challenger in the corner with running knees. More knees were raised into Mahoney’s stomach, for a total of four, before the Derry born stopped the flurry with a thumb to the eye. Alex stumbled back and Siobhan exploded out of the corner with a clothesline that the champion ducked, picking up the Human Disaster and dropping her with the backdrop driver. The Brain Death attempt didn’t hit the target as Mahoney barely dodged it and rolled the champion up with a schoolgirl pin for another near fall. Both were up to their feet, Mahoney charged and ducked a clothesline attempt, bouncing off the ropes to connect a devastating Eire Raid (running bicycle knee strike). Rather than going for the pin, Siobhan started walking around the champion, taunting her to get up and preparing herself to strike with the Shillelagh. That was when she spotted Tiffany Lynn Page walking down the ramp, clapping her hands. “See you next week…” She mocked the Northern Irish who yelled insults at the Primadonna. “... Or maybe not.” Tiffany added as she saw Alex standing up behind Siobhan and setting her up for the Hella Rough (unprettier), hooking the leg for the three count. WINNER: Alex Andrews (STILL MENTV CHAMPION) BY: Pinfall (Hella Rough), 13:08 |
We open backstage in front of a Riot logo backdrop. Except for the white painted brick wall and the Riot logo backdrop this scene would be totally empty. But then in a few moments we see “The British Bombshell” Glory Braddock entering the scene from stage left. The beautiful blonde whom some consider to be one of the best wrestlers in the world today is already dressed to compete in her royal purple two piece wrestling outfit. Her long blonde hair hangs straight and unrestrained to past the shoulders. A stoic gaze is etched across her face, indicating that she is taking tonight’s proceedings very seriously.
Glory Braddock:
Before I get to the scum known as the Triumvirate, I want to address the elephant in the room. Melissa Reeves...there are many things I have said and done in my life that I regret. Hindsight is twenty-twenty and looking back all of us can find times where we have made mistakes. Did I misread you? Did I misunderstand or misinterpret you? Maybe I did. But you are no more entitled to be here in this spot, with this world championship opportunity, than anyone else...including myself, Keelan, and even that twat Megan. But only one of the five of us will be able to crow to the highest of heavens about how great they are. Currently Seth Iser has the championship that gives him the right to call himself the best. And I will do anything and everything within my power to take him down and call myself the best. And that includes going through you, Keelan, Megan, and ultimately Seth Iser to become the new MWE World Champion.
Braddock shakes her head.
Glory Braddock:
This isn’t about padding my resume, collecting championships, or any of that bullocks. Each and everything I do is for the love of professional wrestling. Everything I do is because I truly believe I am helping make this sport better. Do I bleed MWE? I have been here for a little over a year and a half now. I have witnessed the likes of APE, Devin Hearst, and now The Triumvirate use it as little more than a tool to prop up their little powerbase within the company. But the world championship means much more than that. The world championship means you are the very best wrestler in the world today. It is at the heart of what competition means. And that is why I want to become MWE World Champion. It isn’t about adding a sixteenth world title reign to my record, it is about restoring the MWE World Championship to what it should be. And as proof of what I say, here is a guarantee. When I become MWE World Champion I will defend that son of a bitch each and every show. Every Millennium, every Riot; the top contenders of both brands can have their shot. I will defend the title every single show until I am beaten for the title. And unlike Seth, Devin, and CCJ, I will note hide behind a group of thugs. So Melissa, if I do manage to go through all four of you and become the new World Champion and you still want your one on one opportunity, then by all means step up to the plate. I welcome a good challenge from a worthy competitor.
The British Bombshell points a finger at the camera.
Glory Braddock:
That brings me to you, Seth. Are you feeling the walls close in on you, mate? Do you have the sinking feeling of impending doom? You should because you have four very capable and very dangerous individuals coming after your MWE World Championship. And one of them is within your own camp.
Braddock chuckles lightly.
Glory Braddock:
Funny, I did predict that you lot would implode upon yourselves didn’t I? Now Megan Monroe is in the MWE World Title Match and she has said herself that she will not hesitate to take the title away from you. Now that brasser can’t be trusted for a damn but that is one thing I believe. Who would turn down the chance to become World Champion? This is a competitive sport and among many things, Monroe is a competitor. She is prepared to stab you in the back to become champion. And where does that leave your other puppet, huh? Will Pierce stay loyal to you or will he remain loyal to his lady friend? You now find yourself in the position that all champions inevitably find themselves...alone, isolated, with no backup. You cannot trust Pierce, you damn sure cannot trust Megan. And now you must realize that the reign of the Triumvirate is coming to an end. The odds just don’t work out in your favor. Whether it is me, Reeves, or Keelan, one of us will take that MWE World Championship away from The Triumvirate. I just happen to think it’ll be me. But that’s another story for another time.
The British Bombshell grins knowingly.
Glory Braddock:
Tonight the question is, can you lot hold it together against The Glorious Golden Era? See, unlike factions of the past, factions like APE or The Triumvirate, I did not create the Glorious Golden Era to protect me. I did not create this group to act as some sort of miniaturized mafia. Our singular purpose is to weed out the problems within professional wrestling and when I look at you three, I see three of the biggest problems wrestling has ever seen. You three represent the worst of professional wrestling and believe me when I say that The Glorious Golden Era will do our part to eradicate you once and for all.
Braddock shuts her eyes.

Sic Semper Tyrannis...
Trios Match
Glorious Golden Era VS The Triumvirate
Amy Maynard: “What a night this has been so far… And the best has yet to come!” Sir Figgles: “The second and third best stable in the company today…” Amy Maynard:”Wait, which one is the first?” Sir Figgles: “Sandstorm Inc, of course. Why are you even asking?” Amy Maynard: “Do you know they’re no longer around, yeah?” Sir Figgles: “I still believe, Amy.” Amy Maynard: “I… WHOA! They’re wasting no time!” The bell didn’t even sound yet and the Triumvirate already was on the attack, Megan dropkicked Sophie out of the ring, Pierce did the same to Neil but with a clothesline while the World champion delivered some heavy open handed chops to Butler. Glory tried to slide back in but she was shoved into the barricade by a baseball slide from the former IC champion. Newman managed to make it to the apron before a big boot by The Man knocked him off it. Seth hoisted Kyle on his shoulders for a powerbomb into a backstabber from Manning. A Fly-Dell (phoenix splash) from Megan was the icing on the cake and put them in position to win the main event in record time as Meg hooked both legs while her partners kept the opponents at bay. But Kyle wasn’t done yet. Battered, bruised and already at a huge disadvantage, but he still kicked out in two and half. Amy Maynard: “That was close…” Sir Figgles: “Smart move from the Triumvirate to go after the weak link in the Glorious Golden Era.” Amy Maynard: “What? How dare you? Show some respect for once…” Sir Figgles: “What? Don’t look at me, he was the one who said it..” Amy Maynard: “He didn’t say that… Just… Call the match, would you?” The action was frantic already, and it couldn’t be otherwise. Pierce managed to reach his corner and make the tag to Glory who stunned Megan with an enziguri and threw her against the ropes with an irish whip. Blind tag made by Megan’s boyfriend who waited until Braddock turned around to catch Monroe off the second rebound after the former IC champion ducked a clothesline attempt. Megan stopped her run by hooking her arms to the ropes, and Glory immediately realized what happened and quickly turned around, but it was too late to avoid Manning’s lariat already. Pierce pulled her up back on her feet and they began to trade strikes, Size and power advantage were clearly on The Man’s side and he easily forced the Best In The World toward his corner. Seth took the tag and just like that Braddock was double teamed in the corner. A devastating double boot by the two members of the Triumvirate knocked Glory down, but when Iser made the cover, Newman was quick to dive in and make the save. The World champion didn’t seem upset in the slightest, probably expecting what just went down. Standing up, he went back to work with a scoop slam to Glory followed by a tag to Megan who entered the ring with a display of athleticism with a slingshot senton. Amy Maynard: “Notice how quick the Triumvirate is with their tags.” Sir Figgles: “They have the ultimate tactician in their corner, of course he came up with a strategy.” Amy Maynard: “It keeps them fresh and allows them to isolate one opponent. It’s so easy in theory but can be tricky to put into practice.” Only one thing could get in the way of their perfect gameplan, and it was personal ego. Unfortunately, Megan indulged hers and rather than making the tag, she tried to end things with her Mega Kick but Glory rolled out of the way and she hit her own boyfriend, knocking him off the apron. Obviously her full attention turned to Pierce, laying flat on his back outside the ring. Seth tried to snap her out of it before Glory could crawl to her corner. Seeing how his attempts were failing, he tagged himself in and rushed toward Braddock. reaching her a moment too late. The tag was made and Neil Newman entered the ring. By far the freshest man in the match, the former MENTV champion brought hell to Iser, delivering a series of heavy right hands. Never one to back down from a fight, Seth fought fire with fire, swinging at Neil with stiff punches. Slightly faster than the world champion, Newman dodged a crosshand punch and connected a big uppercut that floored the champion. It’s been almost a year since the Golden Era last had a match together, but it looked like it was yesterday. Their chemistry wasn’t affected at all, their combined attacks still perfectly timed. Iser was the one paying the price for it, finding himself on the receiving end of some of the former Tag Team champions’ tag moves such as the argentine rack/neckbreaker combination. Amy Maynard: “Taken singularly, the Triumvirate is on paper the best trio, counting the World Champion, the former IC champion and the former MENTV and Riot champion in their ranks. But there’s one of the best tag teams among the Glorious Golden Era, and that’s making all the difference now.” Kyle and Neil kept working on the World Champion, really putting him through the grinder. They even involved Glory in this, the two of them sent Sth against the ropes with a double irish whip and lifted him with a double flapjack into the Gloria In Excelsis Deo codebreaker. They protected the British Bombshell from Megan’s and Pierce’s attempt to break up the pin, but Seth needed no help, kicking out with authority in two. The World champion stood up and he was fuming, Glory swung a right hook blocked by Seth who then twisted the former Riot champion’s arm and leveled her with a lariat. He obtained a near fall with the Pillar Of Truth before involving once again Pierce in the contest. The two former Riot champions, linked by the fact that they both lost the title to Henri Black, went back and forth for a couple of minutes, until Manning connected his rotating belly to belly suplex for another two count. He set her up for the TBTM but Glory somehow escaped and made the tag to Kyle Butler who wanted to prove once and for all that he wasn’t the weak link of his team, and did it by absolutely manhandling Pierce with an incredible series of suplex, riling up the crowd that replied with a huge roar. Amy Maynard: “Butler is on fire tonight!” Sir Figgles: “We’ve seen this movie before. It’s just a matter of time before he chokes as he always does.” It wouldn’t be a Riot main event with Charles as the referee without some controversy. Butler did it, as highlighted by the loudest pop of the night the former Tag Team champion eventually connected his Rooooooooooooooooooolllll TIDE!!, planting the Man with his headlock driver. The referee made the three count and Kyle raised his arms in victory. This one was over, right? Not really. Charles noticed that Pierce’s foot was under the bottom rope and changed his decision. Butler couldn’t believe it, Glory and Neil were livid especially since they saw that it was Megan who moved Manning’s foot. But their protests were to no avail, Charles was, now, adamant. The match had to continue. Taking advantage of the confusion, Pierce reached his corner and made the tag to Megan. She doubled Kyle over with a kick to the stomach and dropped him on his head with the Beautiful Disaster while Seth took out both Glory and Neil with a double clothesline, securing the win for the Triumvirate. WINNER: The Triumvirate BY: Pinfall (Beautiful Disaster), 21:44 |
