In a pre-taped segment, Christina Rose smiles as she paces the backstage area. She is wearing a Super Mario Brothers shirt as she cracks a very wide grin and begins to speak.
Christina Rose
Hello to all of my Blossoming Roses out there. I just want to say that these past few shows really haven’t gone the way that I wanted them to go. Somebody didn’t want me to wrestle last event as Vivi got jumped on her way to the ring and there’s a reason why I am wearing a Mario Bros t shirt. That’s because this whole scene of being in Millennium feels like I am caught up in a game of Super Mario Bros 2. Everything seems so real to me.
Christina can’t help but chuckle as she continues to grin.
Christina Rose
It all seems so real to me but deep down I know this is all in my head. I know this is a mere dream and things can’t be as bad as they seem to be. I refuse to acknowledge that me being one of the best female athletes in all of wrestling can’t even find a win in this company. On top of that I go from being on the main card to having to fight on the preshow. That isn’t who I am and I know for damn sure that I won’t be humiliated anymore.
Christina chuckles again as she continues to speak some more.
Christina Rose
And now I get to step into the ring with a woman looking to make her debut. A woman who is bigger than me and of course stronger than me but that doesn’t matter. If Selina wants to try her spot by all means let her try to bring it because I am going to give her everything I have to make sure that she doesn’t walk away with a victory. I am going to give her everything that she has and hopefully it will be enough. Try to stay on my level Selina or else it’s Game Over!

MILLENNIUM XV: A Mad Scramble
Live from the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC
Saturday, September 1, 2018
The show comes to life panning over pyrotechnic display on the Millennium Wrestling stage: The large metallic M hanging over the stage itself, with wrestlers emerging from beneath the heavy spiked. "Waking Lions" by Pop Evil blasts through the arena, pumping up the audience in attendance. The cameras pan around the arena, showcasing the sold-out crowd, focusing in on a few of the fan-made signs:
"D’FEND" “Yang Army” “I Made This Sign So Jason Hawk Would Shut The Fuck Up” “WHAT IS A STEEL CAGE SCRAMBLE” “Wtf Why Is Ella Cross Hot” “HERE FOR brITt” “RIP Grace van Beek” “Viva La Vivi” “In Loving Memory of: The Have My Babies Guy”
The show cuts to the broadcast table.
Bea Torres: “HELLOOOOOOOO!”
Jared Idol: “We’re here in the nation’s capital: Washington, DC hosts Millennium Wrestling tonight!”
Bea Torres: “I LOVE THIS PLACE! I LOVE MILLENNIUM! You can FEEL it, tonight, some BIG things are going to happen!”
Jared Idol: “I know you’re talking about more than the contender match later tonight.”
Bea Torres: “I’m talking about EVERYTHAAAAAANG! Four matches with a shot at the Millennium Championship on the line. A triple threat to determine the Lockdown Challenger-”
Jared Idol: “And our main event tonight: The first defense of the Millennium Championship.”
Bea Torres: “Jennifer Yang shocked the world when she won the belt from Eliza Valentine, and this is the first big step to filling those shoes. Anybody can WIN the belt… DEFENDING it is a whole other beast.”
Jared Idol: “And you have to think it’s one Jennifer is excited to take on.”
Bea Torres: “Let’s get to ringside!”
Lockdown Last Chance
Catriona MacKenzie VS Jacob Figgins VS Sean LibbyAlthough it served as the opening match on the main show, this triple threat was not without importance. All three stars had lost last week in the qualifier for the Lockdown Championship. Tonight, they competed for an opportunity to get back into the running. Catriona started strong, knowing that this was her chance to get back into things. However, Jacob Figgins and Sean Libby were both struggling to maintain momentum, and knew very well that this match could be exactly what they needed to get their Millennium careers back on track. Figgins showed surprising viciousness in the early-going. Hard strikes found their mark as he brought the fight to Libby, while Catriona stood back, conserving energy. Figgins tossed Sean to the corner and drilled him with repeated knees to the ribcage. Sean shoved him away. Figgins came back, but Sean ducked between the ropes, using them to send a sharp kick to his opponent’s head. Jacob stumbled from the corner. Catriona took her chance, racing in and taking him to the mat with a bulldog. She kept hold of his head, cranking in a crossface until Figgins was able to escape, using his submission smarts to avoid the early tapout. The two got to their feet and Sean dove from the top rope, taking both of them back down with a double clothesline. He went for a quick cover on MacKenzie. One… two… kickout. The match continued from there. There were no alliances and no friendships formed as the three brawled across the ring. Figgins, on several occasions, locked in a submission hold only for one of the other competitors to break it up, or for the opponent to escape on their own merit. Sean found his home in the skies, showing a speed and resilience Millennum had not seen out of him. As the match came near a close, Sean found himself slumped in the corner after a big dropkick from Catriona. Figgins now had her down, armbar locked in tight in the center of the ring. Catriona looked about to tap. Sean pulled himself to the top rope, measuring them up. He dove with a moonsault, landing across Figgins and forcing him to release the hold! He went for the pin. One… two… Catriona managed to pull Sean off of him. Figgins got to his feet and dragged Sean up off the mat. He drove an elbow to the temple, rocking the Irishman. Figgins raced forward, hitting a knee to his gut with enough power to turn Sean over. With Sean downed, he turned his attention back to Catriona. He went for a punch. She ducked it, grabbing his arm and pulling him onto her shoulders and dropping him with her Beam Me Up Scottie! She scrambled for the pin. One… two… three! WINNER: Catriona MacKenzie BY: Pinfall, 8:01 |
Jared Idol: “HUGE win here for Catriona MacKenzie!”
Bea Torres: “Her job isn’t done just yet though. She still has one more match to complete later tonight. Four-way contest, with the winner going on to challenge Kate Steele.”
Jared Idol: “She looks beat. Think she’s got it in her?”
Bea Torres: “She’ll need to find it if she hopes to win.”
Catriona breathes heavily, bending over to catch her breath. She looks up at the crowd with a smile and a nod. She, too, knew that her night wasn’t done yet. One more match was yet to come, and she’d be one step closer to Millennium gold. The show cuts backstage.
Britty Kane
Well, well, well….
The Cloud Gate Champion walks into the frame backstage in front of a giant Millennium banner on the wall. She has a smile on her face, as she usually does, and looks at the camera.
Britty Kane
Tonight, I have a tough match. A rough match. A match against someone you can’t trust more than you can throw them across the ring. Tonight I face off against Nessa Wall, holder of the magical briefcase that grants her whatever she wants.
A sigh follows.
Britty Kane
But she also can’t make it a title match so I got that going for me.
Shrug.
Britty Kane
My string of luck has been weird since I joined Millennium. I beat my brother when he just gave up, won this title when I wasn’t even gonna be in a heckin’ title match. Got beat up by Ace because he’s a jerk and last week I had the week off due to some personal stuff. So, tonight, I don’t know what to expect honestly. This is my fourth match here and they’re putting me against some heavy hitters, but I want that. You only get better by facing people who have been wrestling for a long time.
She nods her head to agree with herself.
Britty Kane
As much of a jerk that Nessa can be, she can get it done in the ring. I’m not gonna stand here and bash her. She’s an accomplished woman in professional wrestling, and to say otherwise would be a heckin’ dumb thing to do.
She begins to stretch with the title around her waist.
Britty Kane
I need to beat you tonight, Nessa. It’s starting to spread around that I’m a fluke. I got lucky when I won this title. I can’t let people say I’m a fluke. Not when I’ve held another title and defended it quite a few times already. I’m not expecting anything to come easy but I am not a fluke. I am not some chickie boo that got lucky with a roll up at Battle Cry.
A sigh comes out now again.
Britty Kane
I have to prove to people tonight that I am a great wrestler at 20 years old. That I deserve the hype and praise that people give me. I know I may not look like it, or act like it, but I take this sport seriously. This is what I’ve wanted to do since I was 10 years old and saw my dad win a World Title and best one of his hated rivals. I’ve seen my brother spill blood in wars against people. I want that.
She begins to smile again.
Britty Kane
Nessa Wall, I will not allow you to disrespect me. I will not allow you to call me a fluke. Use your case as you wish tonight. Ban my Pandalocks. Ban my ability to elbow you in the face. But do you know what you can’t ban? Me holding this championship.
She rips the title off of her waist and holds it up.
Britty Kane
I am the Cloud Gate champion and tonight I begin to show people why I can hold this title for a long time to come.
And she walks off.
The thunderous drums echo throughout the arena. The lights are sparking, racing and surfing over the crowd in attendance. The loud music contrasts the silent reaction from the crowd as Jason Hawk steps out onto the stage. Gray Malone and Vivi Robichaud look confused at one another. Jason is wearing new asymmetric black and red tights. He stops at the top of the stage and looks out at the crowd. The cat o nine tails is hanging over his shoulder as a title belt and a cigarette is hanging from his lips. There is something different about the crowd tonight. They are still silent, but there is a nervous murmur going around. Some slight boos can even be heard. He takes a drag of his cigarette and slowly blows out the smoke.
Jason Hawk
As great as that song is I much more prefer to listen to myself talk. I would encourage you to shut me up but we all know that won’t happen.
The music stops, and Jason slowly nods to himself looking down at the cat-o-nine tails on his shoulder. He places the cigarette back between his lips and grabs the cat-o-nine tails.
Jason Hawk
You know, this is pretty tame. Sure, it hurts, just ask your beloved Millennium champion Jennifer Yang. She knows. But she got lucky. This is just the beginning, I am just getting started. My arsenal is much deeper. Things will only get worse from here on out.
He blows out some smoke as he slowly starts making his way down the ramp.
Jason Hawk
But it’ll do for now. So, you two can consider yourselves lucky as well. You’re getting off easy. But I am getting ahead of myself. More on that later.
Walking down the ramp Jason notices a big man in the crowd that is leaning over the guardrail with a drink in his hand. The two make eye contact but the man doesn’t break his gaze.
Jason Hawk
What are you looking at big guy?
Jason approaches the big man in the crowd.
Jason Hawk
You don’t like having me out here?
The man doesn’t say anything. Jason takes another drag and again slowly blows out the smoke, this time right in the face of the man. As the man starts coughing Jason drops his cigarette in the man’s drink. Not noticing what Jason has done the man takes a sip of his drink to stop the coughing. The man never swallows the cigarette, but he gets some ash in his mouth. He spits it all out just missing Jason.
Jason Hawk
You almost hit me with that. I dare you to splash me with that rest. I triple fucking dare you.
Jason says as he swings around the cat-o-nine tails. At first the man wants to splash the rest of his drink in Jason’s face but when he notices the cat-o-nine tails he its back down.
Jason Hawk
Sit back down you ingrate! Just like the rest of you, you are going to sit right there and listen to me! If anyone of you tries to interrupt me this match will never get started!
Jason motions for the ring with the cat-o-nine tails. He walks towards the ring but stops just before he was supposed to slide into the ring.
Jason Hawk
How rude of me. I never told you what I am doing here. Not that I need to explain myself, you should just be happy that I am willing to grace you with my presence. That goes for you two clowns too.
Jason waves the cat-o-nine tails at Gray and Vivi, who look less than pleased with Hawk’s theatrics. Jason walks up the steps and enters the ring.
Jason Hawk
There was a moment last week that I will treasure forever. It was something that I’ve never experienced before. You might not have heard it, but I could hear Jennifer Yang cry in pain as I whipped this cat-o-nine tails across her back. There was an odd sense of satisfaction as I did so. I never knew inflicting such pain felt so good. But that wasn’t what truly stood out to me. No, no...
Jason lays his arm across the referee who nervously shakes Jason’s arm off his shoulders.
Jason Hawk
What are you so afraid of? I whipped your buddy last week... I think, it might have been you. Was it you? Aah, it doesn’t matter. These people don’t care enough about you, so I have no interest in hurting you. You’re safe. You two, on the other hand.
Jason turns to face Vivi and Gray.
Jason Hawk
You two might not get so lucky. You see, what stood out to me last week was that when I whipped your Millennium champion who fought so bravely, so heroically to capture that title, when I whipped her across the back I could feel you hurting. I saw it in your eyes. You didn’t come here to see your heroes get whipped. That is no fun for you. Too bad that I don’t care about any of you because tonight we continue. That is unless you finally recognize me as the legend I am and give me the respect I deserve!
Jason pauses waiting for a reaction from the fans, who obviously give him nothing. He smiles and continues.
Jason Hawk
Well, have it your way. Tonight, the violence continues. But because I am such a nice guy I am going to let you decide who gets to feel the whip tonight! Whoever you cheer for more gets to feel the cat-o-nine tail. So, who will it be? Will it be Vivienne Robichaud, who seems SO eager to see just how efficiently I can use this thing?
The fans let out a hesitant cheer for Vivi.
Jason Hawk
Or will it be Gray Malone, who felt compelled to come to the ring last week and interrupt MY big moment, and pick off MY target?
The fans boo Gray. Gray flips them off.
Jason Hawk
Ooh, this sounds even. Also, before any of you get any ideas, if you cheer both of them I am destroying both of them!
Jason rolls out of the ring and walks around the ring for a bit before grabbing a chair from fan in the front row. He sets up the chair at ringside and takes a seat.
Jason Hawk
But what if you decide to smart up and just not cheer at all? Well, then these two poor souls will realize what I have come to realize. That in the grand scheme of things they don’t matter! They are nothing more than pawns in your game. They are only here for your amusement and when your done with them, you’ll chew them up and spit them out by the way side where no one will ever find them again. You did it to me and you’ll do it with them too! As for you two. I never meant for it to come to this. They made me do it. They forced my hand. So, what I am about to do to you or at least one of you, I am sorry. Please, find it in your hearts to eventually forgive me. Now ring the bell.
Steel Cage Scramble Qualifier
Gray Malone VS Vivi Robichaud
Vivi Robichaud had earned this match after the vicious attack last week at the hands of the mysterious security force. Against her stood Gray Malone who, despite losing last week, had made his presence known by intervening in what should have been a phenomenal main event between four of Millennium’s top talents. Gray looked to avenge this loss, and took the fight to Vivienne quickly in the earlygoing. He nailed an exploder suplex a couple of minutes in, which seemed to rattle Vivi. Gray came forward to pick her up, but Vivi was playing possum. She rolled him in a small package. One… two… Gray got a shoulder up. This did not sit well with Malone, who went right back on the attack, driving Vivi to the ropes. He pushed her to the ropes and sent her racing to the opposite side. She jumped to the top rope, springboarding. Gray raced in, but Vivi landed behind him, grabbing him and taking him down quickly with a Russian legsweep. She floated over him, hooking the leg. One… two… again, Gray got a shoulder up. His rage began to get the best of him. Vivi darted between shots, avoiding the furious hands of Malone, and delivering short, sharp kicks of her own when a spot opened up. Slowly, Gray was able to corner her. He sent a boot to her midsection, and began stomping her in the corner, forcing Vivi to the mat. The referee stepped in, separating them. Vivi came charging out of the corner. Gray sidestepped her, sending her crashing into the referee! The ref went down hard. This was exactly what Gray was after. As Vivi frantically tried to wake the referee, Gray slide from the ring with a villainois smirk. He seized his prized baseball bat from ringside, coming back in. Vivi turned to face him, and he swung… miss! Vivi scouted it, ducking the shot. She hit the ropes, coming flying back with a dropkick that send Gray staggering to the opposite end. She raced back, bouncing off the ropes a second time, rushing in, looking for a devastating clothesline from Hell…. CRACK! Gray swung his bat and nailed her before she could stop herself! Vivi hit the mat like a sack of bricks. Gray hurriedly pitched his bat from the ring, hooking Vivi’s leg… right as the referee regained his bearings. He groggily spotted the pin and made the count. One…….two….. Three. WINNER: Gray Malone BY: Pinfall, 11:15 |
The crowd erupts in a mix of cheers and boos as Gray raises his hand in victory. Outside the ring, Hawk sneers, trying to get the fans to rush down.
Bea Torres: “Hawk clearly not pleased with the reaction these two are getting.”
Jared Idol: “These fans cheer whoever they want, whenever they want. Who is Jason Hawk to try and control that?”
Hawk slides into the ring, brandishing his whip. He cracks it across Gray’s back. Gray howls in pain, rolling out of the ring to loud boos from the crowd. Hawk turns his attention to Vivi, who clings to the bottom rope, standing after the hard-fought match. Jason brings his whip down hard across her spine. The knots dig into her skin, and she grits her teeth, but refuses to give Jason the satisfaction of hearing her scream. Hawk snarls, bringing it down again with another sick crack. Again, Vivi contorts her face in agony, but no sound emerges. Jason raises his whip once more. He brings it down… Gray Malone! Gray sticks his bat in the way of the whip. The tails wrap themselves around the aluminium, giving Gray enough leverage to tear it straight from Jason’s hands. Jason raises his hands in surrender, backing slowly from Gray. Gray holds the whip in his hands, looking it over with an expression of both disgust, but interest. He looks from the whip to his bat, and decides to keep his favored weapon, throwing Jason’s from the ring. He looks down at Vivi. Visible welts have already begun forming across her skin. Gray shakes his head and rolls his eyes, but helps her to her feet. He looks up the ramp at Jason, who collects his things and retreats quickly backstage.
We come in to see a smiling face, Saki, the Kawaii Deathmachine standing alone with an ear to ear grin as she speaks.
Saki
Fatal Four score and forever more
One two and three and a MacKenzie
Could be bigger, could be smaller doesn’t matter to the Singapore Mauler.
Lockdown throwdown, it’s a showdown
I come for you, all of you, and there’s nothing you can do.
With that she simply skips away, we hear her eerie giggle in the distance.
Singles Match
Britty Kane (c) VS Nessa Wall
Nessa Wall walks out onto the stage with her briefcase in hand. Nessa Wall My, what an atmosphere tonight! The crowd, too hyped to discriminate, cheers Nessa’s words. She smiles. Nessa Wall The scramble qualifiers, the Lockdown Contender’s match… and that main event! What a match that promises to be! She smirks. Britt stands in the ring, narrowing her eyes, wondering what’s coming next. Nessa Wall Especially with all those attacks, and this rogue security running around… ANYTHING could happen in Millennium. So after speaking with our esteemed general manager, I’ve decided to use the power of my briefcase to alter our match here tonight, Brittany! She looks at the crowd. They’ve realized her disingenuine tone, and have started to boo. Nessa Wall Namely: It’s cancelled. I’m giving myself a night off to keep my energy up. You never know, I may need it. She gives another knowing smile and heads backstage, leaving Britty seething that, yet again, she’s been conned out of her opportunity to prove herself. WINNER: No Contest BY: Cancellation, 0:00 |
Bea Torres: “What do you think Nessa meant by that?”
Jared Idol: “You don’t think she’ll cash in tonight?”
Bea Torres: “And what about poor Britty?”
Jared Idol: “What about her?”
Bea Torres: “All she wants to do is prove her worth and her matches keep going awry!”
Jared Idol: “She’s the Cloud Gate Champion! You have to be ready for anything, that belt is second only to the Millennium Championship itself!”
Bea Torres: “I guess… still, I feel bad!”
Jared Idol: “I’m more interested in Nessa’s briefcase. Remember, once she uses it, her days of altering matches are over.”
Britt looks disgruntled, but respectfully exits the ring while the show cuts out.
The show cuts backstage to Ace Watson emerging from his locker room and finding himself face to face with… Chloe Collins.
Chloe Collins
Hello Ace! Can you spare a word?
Ace Watson
Not right now.
Chloe frowns
Chloe Collins
But you have a huge match tonight! You’ll face off against Jason Hawk, who-
Ace looks at her.
Ace Watson
Yes, and to do that, I need to focus.
He sees her hurt expression and shakes his head.
Ace Watson
Here… I promise, I’ll conduct a proper interview next week, hm? An exclusive. You can ask anything you like.
Chloe Collins
And you’ll actually answer them?
Ace Watson
You have my word.
Chloe sighs.
Chloe Collins
I’ll see you next week…
She walks off, leaving Ace rubbing his temples, trying to shake the conversation from his mind.
Steel Cage Scramble Qualifier
Ace Watson VS Jason Hawk
Ace and Hawk knew what was at stake here: The winner would go on to Heroes & Cons to compete for the Millennium Championship. Gray Malone had earned his shot earlier tonight. Later, the main event would decide who will be entering the event as the defending champion. Here, though, it was Hawk and Ace squaring off. As the match started, Jason got a little too arrogant, tying up with Watson in the center of the ring and immediately finding himself overpowered. Ace got him in a side headlock and took him to the mat, where he worked him over with solid transitions on the mat. Hawk managed to get free, and the two got to their feet. They tied up again. This time, Hawk tried to trip him up, but Ace got the best of him once more, pulling him in and throwing him with a belly to belly suplex. Jason was immediately on his feet. Ace approached. Hawk jumped up with a sick enzuigiri that rocked the Englishman. From there, it appeared that Jason had control. He leaped to the top rope, springboarding with a splash across Ace’s chest. He hooked the leg. One… two… Ace powered out at two. Hawk dragged him to his feet, sending him to the corner. He ran at Ace, driving both feet to his chest with a big dropkick. Ace crumpled to the mat. Hawk measured him up. He ran, looking for another kick. Ace moved at the last minute, sending Hawk soaring into the corner. Ace lifted him. Hawk sent an elbow to his jaw, sending Ace back a step. Hawk again jumped to the top rope and leaped off, hoping for a moonsault on the standing Watson. Ace caught him! Ace roared, slamming Jason flat in the center of the ring. He went for the cover. One… two… Hawk barely got a shoulder up! Ace slammed his fists on the mat. He took a step back, measuring him. He charged in…Hawk ducked! Hawk tripped up Watson with a drop toehold, sending Ace sprawled across the middle rope. Outside the ring, a fan hopped the barricade, approaching the ring… the referee didn’t see it! The fan cracked Ace hard across the face, and the camera picked up on it…. Brass knuckles! The fan was wearing brass knuckles! Hawk continued to argue with the referee until the fan was clear out of sight, and Jason jumped on Ace, using the roeps for leverage. One.. two… three! Hawk won! WINNER: Jason Hawk BY: Pinfall, 11:22 |
The fan stands behind the barricade and removes his hat to reveal himself.. It’s Chris Kane!
Jared Idol: “That cheating shit!”
Bea Torres: “Chris Kane just cost Ace a shot at the Millennium Championship!”
Ace rolls over slowly, clutching his jaw. He eyes Chris at ringside, mouthing something to him. Chris smirks, holding his hand to his ear. In the ring, Hawk parades around as though he’s just won the biggest match of his life. He looks down at Ace and stomps his spine for good measure. On the screen, Gray Malone’s face is seen behind a steel cage mesh. Hawk’s slowly materializes next to it, hyping the match for Heroes & Cons. The show goes to commercial.
Kate Steele could be seen backstage and she is clad in a band t shirt and of course a pair of ripped up jeans. She has her Lockdown Championship draped across her shoulders. She can’t help but grin as she looks deeply into the lens of the camera.
Kate Steele
I have the pleasure of having an off night but guess what yours truly is still here and I just want to say from the bottom of my heart that it feels amazing to be here right now. Tonight we all get to witness a number one contender for the Lockdown Championship be named and I have been waiting for this moment for a very long time.
Kate adjusts her championship as she looks deeply into the cameras.
Kate Steele
This find a contender series has been going for a while now but tonight four individuals will walk into a match with the intention to come out ahead with the chance to face me. I will call it like I see it. What do I want more than anything in this world?
Kate smiles as she looks at her championship as she continues to speak.
Kate Steele
Out of the four people that will compete in tonight’s match there is one name that I want to fight more than anything else. One individual who has constantly been talking so much shit yet I pound her into the ground every single time we meet. No matter what happens she always tries to talk shit over and over again and it’s bloody irritating.
Kate shakes her head in utter disgust as she continues to speak.
Kate Steele
Kasey Summers I do not like her by any means. She fucked with the wrong Bitch and I was having the time of my life until she blatantly ruined things. She wants a fight so badly she is damn sure going to get one but for those keeping track the last time the two of us fought one another I put her squarely in her place. I beat the living shit out of her and she just keeps on coming back for more. Over and over again she just wants to kick her bloody ass kicked and I hope she wins the contenders match so she could be glaring at me for the title. She will get what belongs to her against me one on one. I will make that bitch tap out and I will go on to be the best Lockdown Champion of all time. So you four I got my eyes on you. I will be waiting.
Kate smirks as we fade out on this image.
Ella Cross and Chuck Matthews are seen in his office.
Chuck Matthews
You’re really too hard on yourself. You did well, really.
Ella Cross
It was complete madness. Attacks, this rogue security squad, Grace raising a fuss… my job was to keep the show running smoothly-
Chuck Matthews
And you did exactly that. And what’s more, I was able to observe from an outside perspective, and that’s invaluable.
Ella Cross
You have a plan to rein them in?
Chuck Matthews
Would you be surprised if I didn’t?
Ella allows a tiny smirk.
Ella Cross
I suppose not.
Chuck gives her a friendly pat on the shoulder.
Chuck Matthews
Relax, Miss Cross. Yes, last week was a bit chaotic. Things were rough. This week, rest assured, that will change.
Ella Cross
So what’s the plan?
Chuck smiles.
Chuck Matthews
I’ve called a few friends. I think, when the time comes, they’ll be valuable assets.
As if on cue, there’s a knock at the door. Chuck’s grin grows wider.
Chuck Matthews
Lovely. Right on time. Ella, would you kindly-
Lovely. Right on time. Ella, would you kindly-
Ella is already halfway to the door, allowing the visitor in. Chuck stands, extending his hand to shake Millennium’s new signing.
Chuck Matthews
We were just talking about you! Please, have a seat. How are you feeling, my old friend?
A woman’s hand shakes his, and the camera slowly turns to reveal the face.
Melissa Reeves
Honestly? I’m just ready to work.
Chuck gives that familiar flashy smile, just before the show cuts back to ringside.
Lockdown #1 Contender Match
Kasey Summers VS Saki VS Tiffany Tompkins VS Catriona MacKenzie
Catriona was looking ready to go, even in spite of wrestling earlier in the night. Across the ring, Kasey Summers had all the reason to want to go on to fight Kate Steele. Tiffany Tompkins had much to prove: It was clear that she was talented, and a victory in this contest would put her in line for the Lockdown Championship. Saki was the wildcard: She was still in the early stages of her Millennium career but between the quick pre-show victories and the mysterious rhyming, her opponents tonight weren’t quite sure what to make of her. Catriona employed her previous tactic as best she could: Stay out of the way. With three others in the match though, this proved easier said than done, and in moments, she found herself in a brawl with the enigmatic Saki. Kasey and Tiffany locked up in the corner, with Kasey taking Tiffany to the mat, only for Tiff to drive a knee to the skull and scramble right back to her feet. Kasey stood and Tiffany fired off a Five Foot Death Kick! Kasey narrowly avoided it! Kasey came back with a forearm to Tiffany’s head. Across the ring, Saki and Catriona traded punches until Catriona took her to the mat with a suplex. She bridged, getting the pin. One… Saki kicked out. Saki hits the ropes, coming off with a clothesline that takes Catriona off her feet. She grabs the arm, twisting it upward. Cat kicks her away, kipping back to her feet. Saki comes back in on the attack. Catriona grabs her by the arm, taking her to the mat with a hiptoss. Saki rolls back to her feet and leaps backward with a spinning kick which connects! Catriona hits the mat hard. Saki approaches. She’s elbowed from behind by Kasey Summers, tackling her into the corner. Kasey drives repeated knees to Saki’s midsection. Tiffany seizes her by the shoulder, turning her around and sending another kick. Kasey falls into the ropes. Tiffany charges, hitting a clothesline that takes Kasey over the top rope to the floor. Saki comes out of the corner, tossing Tiffany out after her. She turns back to Catriona, who pulls her into a small package! One.. two.. Saki gets a shoulder up. Saki picked up momentum as Kasey and Tiffany were laid out on the outside. She sent a hard kick to the midsection and dropped Catriona with a DDT. She retreated to the corner, climbing slowly to the top rope. She measured Catriona up, ready for the Cotton Candy Kiss of Death. She stood precariously on the top rope. Out of nowhere, she was thrown off the top rope by… Sephora Eastwick! Sephora has returned to Millennium Wrestling! Sephora smirks, hopping down from the apron. In the ring, Catriona looks from Seph to Saki and back, inching towards her and dropping for the pin. One… two… Kasey dives into the ring to break it up, but it’s too late! The referee hit the three! WINNER: Catriona MacKenzie BY: Pinfall, 10:50 |
Bea Torres: “But that was Sephora!”
Sephora smirks, backing up the ramp, watching Saki in the ring. Saki rolls onto her stomach, watching Sephora move. The crowd cheers at her return. She waves to Saki in the ring as she stands on the ramp.
Jared Idol: “What is happening here? Can we talk about that fact that CATRIONA MACKENZIE is moving on to fight Kate Steele for the Lockdown Championship?”
Bea Torres: “Melissa Reeves joins Millennium, Sephora Eastwick returns, Catriona challenges for the title… what a night this has been!”
The crowd has taken their seats as Millennium returns from commercial! It isn’t long before they jump back out of their seats as Black Skinhead by Kanye West kicks in and begins blasting throughout the arena! The crowd jump up to cheer for one of Millennium’s newest faces, D’Angelo Blackwell! Blackwell bursts through the curtain! He is wearing his wrestling gear along with his denim jacket, also holding his newly won Evolution Civility Championship in his right hand as he makes his way down the ramp, high fiving the fans along the way! He slides into the ring, placing his title in the corner, retrieving a microphone, and taking centre stage as the crowd simmers down!
D’Angelo Blackwell
Lemme tell y’all something! Earlier this year I was apart of [R]evolution Pro Wrestling, I became [R]evolution World Champion. I held that championship with pride, honour, and I accepted every single challenge that came my way, G! Fast forward and I moved onto grander things, I won the GWA Heritage Championship….. Uh, shit happened, and I had to move on from that.
Dlo pauses, smirking at the crowd.
D’Angelo Blackwell
Yooo. Yoo, anywho, in the aftermath I made the decision to leave [R]evolution Pro, I felt that I’d reached the pinnacle, reached all my goals, and I simply had nothing left there, G. I’m a hungry competitor, and I need fresh challenges, so I joined two new promotions! I made some calls, and I was able to sign deals in Scotland with Evolution and the states with Millennium!
Dlo lowers the mic, smirking again, followed by pointing at his Evolution Civility Championship.
D’Angelo Blackwell
It may not be the world championship, but as you can see I’ve already claimed gold in Evolution, G! Now, I know y’all are sitting there like, what’s ya point, Dlo? Well, the point is that it doesn’t matter where I go, in the end, championships just gravitate to me. I’m like a fuckin magnet, G. I just keep winning them!
Dlo pauses, lowering the mic, and raising his fingers in the air.
D’Angelo Blackwell
Rev Pro, GWA, and Evo! The only three promotions I’ve wrestled in full time, and I’ve got shiny gold for them all, dog!
Dlo pauses again, allowing the crowd the cheer!
D’Angelo Blackwell
Yooo, so that just leaves Millennium! I mean it’s sorta like destiny, right? I’m gonna claim gold in this company because as I said championships just gravitate to YA BOY! Oh, and it just so happens that in a short time I will be challenging Jennifer Yang for the Millennium World CHAMPIONSHIP!
Dlo raises his voice in excitement, the intensity breaking through onto his face!
D’Angelo Blackwell
I’ve got a hella good track record in title matches, I shine in these situations!! I’m excited, G! But, I ain’t alone in that ring. I’ll be squaring off against Jennifer Yang, and the idea of facing her makes me even more excited. I’ve made it known that I always want to push myself, I always want to fight the best, and I’m always seeking challenges. So, when I arrived in Millennium, I wanted to fight her right away, not because I wanted the title, but because she was the CHAMPION, making her the best in this promotion, the number one, the toughest fighter, and so on. I wanted to test myself, and she is the pinnacle at this current time.
Dlo lowers the mic, wandering over to the corner, and retrieving his Evolution Civility Championship
D’Angelo Blackwell
Defeating Yang tonight and claiming that Millennium gold will be sweet, but having a war with her and seeing if I’m able to defeat somebody as tough as her? That’s the sweetest part. I respect her, and I expect her to push me beyond my limits, but I’ll keep fighting, I’ll keep getting up, and I will walk out with Millennium gold. It’s destiny, G.
Dlo flashes a smile at the crowd as he throws the microphone aside, leaving the ring as Black Skinhead plays out!
Backstage, the scene opens to a closeup shot of Jennifer Yang’s name that’s engraved in the Millennium championship belt. The light bounces off it in a nice shine before the camera cuts to a wide shot of Jennifer and her manager/fiancé Ho Wei Shen. As usual, Wei flashes a ready smile while Jennifer stands next to him with a soft, neutral expression on her face, all prepared in her wrestling attire.
Ho Wei Shen
Hello, Washington DC! Tonight, it’s going to be an interesting show as we’re just two weeks away from Heros and Cons and Jennifer here is putting her title on the line in the main event!
He throws her a glance, almost like a side-eye, the smile from before faltered for a bit.
Ho Wei Shen
Which means that, if Jennifer doesn’t win tonight, she will not be at Heroes and Cons as your Millennium champion.
His smile grows tight, his jaw clenched.
Ho Wei Shen
That’s not a good thing…
Then his face lights up once more with that million-watt grin.
Ho Wei Shen
Thankfully, that’s NOT going to happen!
He chuckles as this time, he turns to look at Jennifer. With a soft smile, she averts her gaze while dipping her chin down, rocking her heels back a bit. He reaches out to tilt her chin back up. She gives a sheepish look and mouths ‘sorry’, to which he responds with a curt nod before turning back to the camera.
Ho Wei Shen
Ladies and gentlemen, you see, Jennifer here isn’t going anywhere yet. Her time as champion has just begun. If you thought what she’s done to take this championship from Eliza Valentine is all she’s capable of, you are sadly mistaken. She has merely tapped into her potential. You’ve also seen her up against Nora Finley. You’ve seen her up against Lockdown champion Kate Steele. You’ve also seen her teaming up with Kate near effortlessly taking down Ace Watson and Christopher Kane. If it weren’t for the interruption last week, her winning streak would have continued this cycle. She has evolved, ladies and gentlemen. The Jennifer you once knew has gone. This is the Jennifer you will get from now on; faster, stronger and better every week. And she won’t disappoint you. That’s her promise.
With the Millennium championship resting over her shoulder, Jennifer places her hands together and bows slightly in a humble gesture. Even though Wei’s speech is obviously rehearsed, viewers can tell Jennifer’s sincerity. Wei looks at the camera with a smirk.
Ho Wei Shen
D’Angelo Blackwell, tonight you will face that Jennifer. You’re a nice boy, aren’t you? You understand the importance of this match. From the Twitter conversation you’ve had with Jennifer, I can tell you’re confident going into tonight. I also look you up online and I’ve seen your impressive work and accomplishments. I commend you for all of that. You don’t just talk. You get the job done. Unfortunately, your talk about winning this Millennium championship is just that, all talk. At least against Jennifer. As talented as you are, as confident as you are, you do not possess the same amount of fire in you. You are simply too young, D’Angelo. You don’t understand yet.
Jennifer looks up at Wei, slightly alarmed, and it looks like she’s about to say something. But he holds her hand down as he continues speaking.
Ho Wei Shen
But you are still granted this shot. You can make the most out of it, and it will still be a significant lesson for your future in this company.
Still holding her hand, he turns to her with a smile before looking back at the camera.
Ho Wei Shen
And I’m glad for this opportunity for Jennifer to face someone like D’Angelo. He is a good kid. A good talent. And to have the title on the line like this, it will push her to perform her best with no excuses. Keep her on her toes. Be a fighting champion. So that when she reaches Heroes and Cons, her journey will be more worth it. This is your top champion, Millennium faithful. This is Jennifer Yang.
Without another word, the scene fades to black.

Grace van Beek VS Nora Foley
Grace van Beek and Nora Foley had been on a collision course for weeks, with Grace responsible for the attacks the last couple weeks in Millennium. Grace van Beek’s disrespect towards Millennium and towards their leader had reached a new high. From the opening bell, Nora charged, taking Grace clear off her feet with a shoulder block. Grace rolled across the ring, immediately getting to her feet. At ringside, Ryen Riekert, Dane Archer, and the usual security team surrounded Grace’s corner, watching the situation. Grace darts in, avoiding the clothesline attempt from the Shieldmother. She leaps up, hitting a dropkick that Nora brushes off like nothing. As Grace stands, Nora seizes her, lifting her high above her head in a gorilla press. She carries Grace to the ropes, looking down at her posse at ringside. Grace cries out, but Nora doesn’t care. She hurls Grace, clear over the ropes to the crowd at ringside. Dane catches her, cradling her for a second, looking uncomfortable as he looks at Grace with a frown. Grace immediately drops to her feet, looking up at Nora. Slowly, she climbs to the apron, Nora taunting her to get back in. The match progressed. Grace vaulted over the top rope. Nora came charging in, looking to boot her. Grace ducked, and Nora’s foot went over the rope, crotching her. Grace hammered blows on Nora’s back. Nora shoved her off, climbing back into the ring. Grace hit the ropes, ducking the clothesline when Nora tries to take her down. She bounced off the opposite ropes and came back, driving a shoulder to Nora’s leg. Nora dropped to one knee. Grace hooked her by the neck, driving her head-first into the mat. She went for a cover. One… two… kickout by Foley. Grace began to pick up momentum. She hooked Nora’s leg, trying to lock in her Gold Bar. Nora planted her foot on Grace’s bottom, shoving her away again. Grace turned back, into a scoop slam from Nora. Nora dropped an elbow across the chest, staying in place for a pinfall. One… two… Grace managed to get a shoulder off the mat. Nora frowned. She retreated to the corner, glancing over her shoulder to ensure Grace’s squad wasn’t trying anything suspicious. As Grace tried to get to her feet, Nora charged, looking for a spear. Grace sidestepped it, sending Nora crashing shoulder-first into the ringpost. Nora rolled to the mat, crying out and clutching her arm. Grace came in, stomping at Nora’s leg, taking advantage while she could. Nora got to her feet, fending off the blows. She roared, tackling Grace, carrying her to the opposite side of the ring and crushing her into the corner. She backed up. Grace stumbled out of the corner. Nora lifted her on her shoulder, crushing her again against the corner and charging to the center of the ring. Grace squirmed free, landing behind Nora and shoving her forward. Nora stumbled forward into the ropes, rebounding back. Grace leapt up, grabbing Nora and taking her to the mat in a reverse DDT. She scrambled back, seizing the leg and locking in the Gold Bar! Grace had it, right in the center of the ring! Nora struggled for a moment, reaching desperately, but eventually was forced to tap out. WINNER: Grace van Beek BY: Submission, 15:15 |
Grace frowns, looking at Nora. She nods to Ryen, who motions to his team. As a unit, they swarm the ring, stalking Nora. On Grace’s command, they begin stomping her into the mat, beating her down with police batons. Outside the ring, two others set up a table over the unforgiving concrete.
Bea Torres: “No, come on… the match is over! It’s done!”
Jared Idol: “Somebody needs to do something!”
Grace is interrupted as “Brains” roars through the speakers. She points frantically to the stage and Ryen springs to action, redirecting his guards to the ramp, just as Chuck Matthews emerges, flanked by his own armed force. HIs security makes their way down the ramp, riot shields out in front of them to block the way. In the ring, Grace signals to Dane, who nods, climbing into the ring. Archer picks Nora off the mat, slapping her a few times in the face as a sign of disrespect. He looks to the outside, where Grace is pointing. With a shrug, Dane lifts Nora in powerbomb position. He walks her to the ropes and throws her down, crushing Nora through the table with a Jackknife Powerbomb!
Millennium Security and Riekert’s Security meet on the ramp, and the arena fills with the sounds of batons slamming against riot shields. Millennium creates a path for their boss, pushing their shields outward, parting Grace’s army enough for Chuck to head to the ring himself. Ryen gets in the ring next to Dane, prepared to fight if things get ugly, and reminding Chuck that he’s outnumbered three-to-one. Despite the chaos around the ring and the numbers disadvantage within it, Chuck seems unperturbed, twirling a microphone between his fingers as he steps between the ropes. For a moment, there’s a tense staredown between van Beek and Matthews, until the Millennium Owner raises the microphone to his lips.
Chuck Matthews
That’s quite enough.
He doesn’t raise his voice, but the commanding power of it halts the dispute on the ramp. Riekert nods to his men, signaling a ceasefire. Millennium Security lowers their shields at Chuck’s command.
Chuck Matthews
We’ve got problems, don’t we?
He stares Grace in the eyes. Grace mouths something to him, but Chuck shakes his head.
Chuck Matthews
No no, you’ve had your time to speak. All of social media has heard you speak. But I’ve been fairly silent on the matter, don’t you agree?
He frowns.
Chuck Matthews
Let’s make something perfectly clear, Miss van Beek: This is my show.
The crowd gives a mixed reaction. Chuck holds up a hand.
Chuck Matthews
When I took over this company, it was nothing. It was on its last legs. It had no leadership, it had no morale, it was barely functioning. I changed that. I took a tiny little independent promotion that struggled to sell six thousand seats. I took us to Chicago. I was responsible for the rebranding. Under my leadership, this company got on TV. This company sold tickets. It drew RATINGS. This company saw its golden age thanks to me, and with it, I created…. This.
He motions around at the Millennium crowd, who cheer loudly.
Chuck Matthews
These people flock to see these shows. Those people in the back STRIVE to sign to this company. The Millennium Championship will, one day, be considered one of the most prestigious prizes in this business. And the only person who seems to have a problem with that… is you.
Grace sneers at Chuck.
Chuck Matthews
Now, here’s the bottom line… you won tonight. That means something in this company. You know, just as well as anybody else, that if I didn’t want you near the championship picture, if I didn’t want to run the risk of you holding my top prize, I’d think of some way to get you out of the match-
There’s a low smattering of boos at the thought.
Chuck Matthews
You know I would. I wouldn’t think twice about it. But I won’t. The fact is, you won. You’ll be at Heroes & Cons, and you’ll be competing in the Steel Cage Scramble.
He looks at Dane, then to Ryen, and back at Grace.
Chuck Matthews
Somewhere along the line, you’re going to realize that I have a company to run, and to do so, this?”
He motions to Grace’s security, to Riekert, to Archer.
Chuck Matthews
This has to stop.
Grace shakes her head. She seizes the microphone from Chuck.
Grace van Beek
No. YOU need to understand something, Mr. Matthews. I know that you preach this cute fantasy world where everybody gets an equal shot, and everybody gets a piece of the pie, but let’s not fool ourselves here. You claim to be fair and unbiased, but you, of all people, understand that these “opportunities” are far from even. You’ve amassed no small fortune by exploiting the very fact that all men are NOT created equal.
She scoffs at him.
Grace van Beek
The reason you don’t like people like me, Mr. Matthews, is because I point out your hypocrisy. I show the world who Chuck Matthews really is. You’re so good at this political maneuvering, at painting yourself to look like the good guy when your own hands are covered in filth. Look at these people, these… sheep, who will bleat when you ask them, who will cheer on anything you have to say, because you’re CHUCK MATTHEWS.
The crowd cheers Chuck’s name, clearly not taking kindly to Grace berating them.
Grace van Beek
But then somebody like me comes along, who IS clearly cut above the rest of these people, who is THE brightest prospect you’ve signed here in Millennium and who, in a few weeks, will be standing as your Millennium Championship. Will I be your prized star then, Mr. Matthews? You don’t get to talk to me about opportunities when you bent over backwards whenever Eliza Valentine wanted something. You don’t get to talk down to me when Nessa Wall has you wrapped around her finger. You don’t get to tell me to earn my shot when Jason Hawk, when D’Angelo Blackwell, when JOSH HOLLOWAY all received chances at the Millennium Championship, while I was shoved to the side.
She points at Nora.
Grace van Beek
SHE is as firmly in the Chuck Matthews camp as anybody else, and she saw it too. You don’t care about your roster. You don’t care about “opportunities” or “individual success.” You care about who is going to line your pockets. You care about one person, and one person only, and that person is Chuck Matthews.
Chuck frowns, staring holes through Grace.
Grace van Beek
So… yes, in fact, I’ve taken it upon myself to remedy this situation. It has become clear to me that you’re no longer suited to perform your duties. You make rash decisions, you threaten the safety of your stars, and quite frankly, I don’t believe I’m the only one whose grown tired of it.
She sighs.
Grace van Beek
It’s unfortunate. I signed with this company because I liked the way you conducted business. I saw so much promise in Millennium. I wish to build it further. I wish it to be the very best promotion it can be. Unfortunately, Mr. Matthews… I simply don’t see a place for you in that future.
She nods to Dane, who steps forward menacingly. Ella Cross clasps her hands over her mouth, unsure what to do. From the back, Nessa Wall charges down the ramp, clearly seeing enough and not wishing to see Matthews injured further. She’s intercepted by Chris Kane, who vaults over the barricade, meeting her just outside the ring and tackling her from the side. Nessa smashes her case over Chris’s head, and the two begin fighting outside the ring. In another place, Sean Libby leaps over the barrier, aiding Chris in his fight against Nessa. The security forces resume their brawl. In the ring, Dane hurls Chuck into the corner. Chuck raises his fists for a fight, shooting in to attack. Dane grabs him by the neck, lifting him and bringing him down hard with a chokeslam. Ace Watson and Britt Kane run down the ramp, clearly wary of the other. Ace goes after Chris, while Britt takes the fight to Sean Libby. Grace shouts, pointing out the growing group of wrestlers outside the ring. Dane stomps hard on Chuck’s chest, but advances to the outside, helping to quell Chuck’s group. Jason Hawk makes a beeline for the ring. He leaps at Nessa, raining hands down. Gray Malone is quickly behind him, also headed for the ring and targeting Hawk. Dane doesn’t focus on one person, instead going after whichever of Chuck’s allies he can find.
In the ring, Chuck is downed. Grace smiles, rubbing her boot on Chuck’s face. She smiles at Riekert and offers him the chance. Ryen smiles, stomping on Chuck’s shin. He plants a foot on Chuck’s chest, leaning in to say something. A loud roar is heard from the crowd. Ryen Riekert is turned around, and he’s dropped as the assailant hits an Asai DDT, taking him down. Aurora Jansen stands, looking down at her handiwork. Riekert rolls from the ring, clutching the back of his skull.
Bea Torres: “OH MY WHAT.”
Jared Idol: “We’ve heard rumors, and now she’s really here! Aurora is here in Millennium!”
Riekert’s security, realizing their leader is in danger, swarm the ring, collecting him and Grace, and retreating up the ramp to get them to safety. The chaos slowly begins to subside when Grace’s allies realize their security crew is abandoning them. They too begin to scatter, heading for the back. In the ring, Aurora offers an arm, helping Chuck to his feet. Chuck offers a respectful, thankful nod. Jansen looks up the ramp at the retreating forces, standing in the ring as a human barricade between Grace’s army and Chuck and Ella. The cavalry has arrived. The show goes to commercial.
A screen displays a steel cage surrounding the Millennium ring. Bea Torres’s voice is heard over the promotional video. An assortment of clips play of the few steel cage matches in Millennium’s history
“Steel cages are designed to keep wrestlers in. In the Scramble, it’s designed to keep them out.”
Nessa’s fight with Nora plays on the screen...
“Four wrestlers start outside the ring until two of them make their way inside.”
...Ace Watson defeating Jennifer Yang in the Battle for the Briefcase Semi-Finals…
“The final two compete in a one-fall match within the confines of the cage.”
A picture of the Millennium Championship, in all it’s shiny golden glory.
“September 22nd… Heroes & Cons… Millennium Championship on the line…”
Bright white words appear on the screen.
Steel Cage Scramble
The screen shows one last shot of the cage before the show cuts back to the ring.
The main event is about to begin. Jennifer Yang stands in her corner, loosening up, getting ready for the bell to ring. Ho Wei Shen stands at ringside, as usual, watching observantly. D’Angelo Blackwell seems confident, but focused, understanding just how big this match can be. The referee looks to both competitors and is about to call for the bell, but he’s interrupted when “She’s a Genius” begins to play through the speakers.
Jared Idol: “Ohhh boy, she warned us this might happen.”
Nessa Wall walks onto the stage, briefcase in hand. She smiles at the two confused stars in the ring as she heads to the commentary booth. She places the case on the table in plain sight, but neglects to put a headset on.
Nessa Wall
I’m just here to watch.
The referee looks to the ringside assitant, who shrugs. Unable to find reason to eject her, the referee calls for the bell, and the match begins.
Millennium Championship
Jennifer Yang (c) VS D'Angelo Blackwell It’s main event time! Jennifer Yang is defending her Millennium Championship against a man that is well known around the world, but is one of Millennium’s newest faces, D’Angelo Blackwell! Blackwell and Yang circle around, feeling each other out. Blackwell peeks over Yang’s shoulder, placing his eyes on the outside of the ring where Nessa Wall is seated with her briefcase. She waves at him, and he just stares for a second before dropping his eyes back down to Yang. The slight lack of focus allows Yang to make the first move, striking Blackwell with a stiff kick to his chest, causing him to stumble back. She then follows up by quickly hitting the ropes and dropkicking him into the corner! Yang wanders over to the corner and begins unloading with kicks into the chest of Blackwell. She then steps back and rocks him with a massive elbow to the head, followed up with a belly to belly suplex out of the corner. Yang attempts the first pinfall of the match, kickout at two! She then slowly starts pulling Blackwell up, but he is able to counter, kneeing Yang in the gut, followed by hitting the ropes and dropping her with a slingblade! He takes a second to catch his breath before quickly dropping three jumping elbows to the downed Yang. He goes for a pinfall: One… kickout! Blackwell drops a knee into Yang’s right arm, followed by twisting it around as he slowly pulls her up. Blackwell is then able to utilise the arm to twist Yang around, transitioning behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist. He attempts a german suplex, but Yang throws a backwards elbow, rocking Blackwell and causing him to lose his grip! She then transitions behind him, pushing him from behind and into the opposite ropes. Blackwell bounces off but is able to turn back around in time and duck a roundhouse kick from Yang, followed by spinning behind her and finally slamming her with a german suplex! Blackwell looks to the outside and sees Nessa Wall clapping for him. He rolls his eyes and turns his attention back to Yang, pulling her up and throwing her outside the ring! Blackwell then raises his hands to the crowd and hits the ropes, flying through the middle rope and laying Yang out with a suicide dive!! He pops up and gets right into the face of Nessa Wall! She smiles and gestures for him to back away. He slowly takes a few steps back, smirking and not taking his eyes off her. Blackwell turns his attention back to Yang, grabbing her by the neck, and slowly bringing her up. Yang seems to have dug deep and found a second wave of energy as she throws her arms up, causing Blackwell to lose grip and stumble back. She then connects with a roundhouse kick that knocks Blackwell into the edge of the apron. He is slumped against it, and Yang begins unloading with kicks!!! ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE, SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT, NINE, TEN!! Blackwell’s chest is flaring up bright red! She then grabs him by the head, slamming his head into the apron, followed by tossing him back into the ring! Yang climbs onto the apron, followed by climbing up onto the top rope. She awaits Blackwell as he slowly stumbles up. She jumps from the top rope, laying Blackwell out with a missile dropkick! She lands perfectly, rolling back up to her feet, and hitting the ropes. She hits Blackwell perfectly with a running senton!! She goes for a cover, One….Two…. KICKOUT! Blackwell digs down deep and is able to stay alive! Nessa Wall has now crept up to the edge of the ring, briefcase in hand as she watches on! Yang remains seated, catching her breath as she looks on at Nessa and her briefcase. Yang understands that she may have to defend her championship again if she is able to defeat Blackwell. She runs her hands through her hair and begins to stalk Blackwell. He slowly stumbles up, and she kicks him in the gut, followed by grabbing his wrist, jumping onto the second rope and attempting her finisher #BEHUMBLE (Wristlock springboard cutter)!! BUT BLACKWELL CATCHES HER!! He takes her down with a short running powerslam! Both Yang and Blackwell are laid out! As the match continues, Yang and Blackwell have continued to trade blow for blow. Squaring off in the middle off the ring, trading moves, the two continue to dig down and keep fighting! Nessa Wall is looking on, pleased, a smile on her face as Yang and Blackwell wear each other down. Blackwell throws Yang into the ropes, connecting with a knee to the gut, followed up with a gutwrench powerbomb!! Nessa yells an inaudible comment at Blackwell. It’s clear that it was an insult as he doesn’t look pleased! He shakes it off, climbing to the top rope, and raising his arm to the crowd!! Blackwell flies off, hitting a picture-perfect elbow drop!!! The crowd chants Blackwell’s name, causing Nessa to once again make an inaudible comment, followed by turning away and yelling a few inaudible remarks to the crowd! Blackwell hits the ropes and lays Nessa out with a baseball slide!! He pulls himself up, looking down at Nessa, and dusting off his hands as the crowd cheers for him. Blackwell turns around into a superkick from Yang! She then jumps up and drops Blackwell with a codebreaker! The crowd begins to chant for Yang as she begins to power herself up. She drops an elbow into the back of Blackwell, followed by pulling him and slamming him with a german suplex! She grabs his wrist, pulling him up and once again attempting her finisher, but Blackwell is able to pull Yang in, kneeing her in the gut and stopping her from jumping onto the middle rope. Yang and Blackwell lean on each other in the middle, both clearly exhausted!! Yang throws a punch, but Blackwell catches it, throwing a quick knee into Yang’s jaw!! Blackwell is then able to pull her up into DARK AGE?? (One-Handed Electric Chair Driver) He has Yang on his shoulders, but movement from the table distracts him! Blackwell looks over at Nessa, who has begun pacing slowly in front of the announce team. Blackwell in fear of a DQ drops Yang off to the side and shouts at Wall. Nessa smiles, returning to her seat. Blackwell turns back around…. YANG OUT OF NOWHERE WITH #YANGVICTORY! The referee counts. One.. two… three! Yang retains! WINNER: Jennifer Yang -- STILL Millennium Champion BY: Pinfall, 20:41 |
Jared Idol: “Jennifer Yang retains!”
Bea Torres: “Still the champion!”
Jared Idol: “And that means she’ll go on to meet Gray Malone, Jason Hawk, and Grace van Beek at Heroes & Cons in the Steel Cage Scramble!”
Yang has retained her Millennium Championship in a very hard-fought contest. She throws her hands in the air, celebrating as once again she proved that ‘’Fight Like Jenni!’’ is as true as ever! Meanwhile, Blackwell is stunned! He has a slight smile on his face as he realises where he messed up. Yang is given her championship, and she raises it high. The crowds cheers suddenly turn to deafening boos as Nessa Wall slides into the ring, clutching the Millennium Case. She is eyes Yang and the championship, but before she can do anything, Blackwell pulls himself up and stands side by side with Yang! Nessa takes a moment to think before smirking and saying ‘’On my time’’ as she drops down and slides under the bottom rope, leaving the ring. Blackwell eyes her as she wanders up the ramp, followed by embracing Yang with a hug and raising her hand. On the stage, Nessa Wall responds to Jennifer Yang by holding up her Millennium Case. The show ends depicting Nessa on the stage, while Jennifer Yang stands on the second rope, showing off the Championship to the world.
Bea Torres: “ONE more week left before Heroes & Cons!”
Jared Idol: “It’s been a hell of a show, but it must go on no matter what. Join us next week for the final show before Heroes & Cons! We roll into Boston, Masachusetts. Good night, everybody!
