Millennium LXXXI
Live from Giant Center in Hershey, PA
Wednesday, April 14th, 2021
Gareth Prichard Jr:
Everyone wants to be a sociopath, an agent of chaos, a bad motherfucker…
We find ourselves in a hallway with a bunch of production boxes inside the Giant Center. Echoing through the corners are the usual sounds of a wrestling production, people screaming; pouting; stretching… and the shouts of the few fans that are allowed inside the arena. Amongst all the chaos and commotion, a familiar voice continues talking.
Gareth Prichard Jr:
But no one wants to actually run with it…
A couple of hard taps against one of the production boxes alerts us as to exactly where this voice is coming from and, as if on cue, Gareth Prichard Jr. appears from behind the exact box where the sound came from. Draped in a black overcoat, he’s holding a shillelagh on his right hand and a black briefcase in his left hand. Prichard smirks as he continues.
Gareth Prichard Jr:
In the last month or so we have had the arrival of not one, not two, not three, hell… maybe not even four… but more… of these types of ‘wrestlers’. All of them augur pain, suffering, an age of hate and chaos… problems for everyone… yet, I’m sure none of them will get their nose out of their own butt to acknowledge anything that doesn’t happen inside their small, little bubble.
Gareth chuckles and shrugs as he continues.
Gareth Prichard Jr:
We’ve had monsters run wild imposing their so called will on others, but demonstrating that for a brain they only have a peanut. Dumbasses wanting revenge but desiring stipulations that could end in technicalities… everyone wants to sound badass, without thinking about logic first.
He sighs, disappointed, and takes a look to his left where he elevates the briefcase for a bit before turning his eyes back towards the camera.
Gareth Prichard Jr:
You’re so up your own butts that you haven’t even mentioned the reality that I still hold this thing and I will make every single champion’s life a living hell until I want to. I went to Riot and both Eliza and Henri were left scratching their heads. Tonight there are two belts on the line… two belts I could just sweep in and take for myself at any given moment… and that, Andrew… Clyde… Nine… Siobhan… THAT’S how you really create chaos. That’s how you make everyone be on edge every single second of every single night. Because sometimes… being logical is more powerful than whatever your childish games are.
Gareth taps the briefcase with the shillelagh before turning around and shouting…
Gareth Prichard Jr:
THE CLOCK KEEPS TICKING...
Singles Match
Jimmy Scrivens VS Khalil Washington IIIJimmy was standing in his corner as Washington took his time undressing from his attire. Off went the hoodie and the dog tags he handed to the referee, warning him to be careful with those. This arrogant attitude earned him more jeers from Pennsylvania fans, but he paid no mind to them And while the referee was handing Khalil’s ornaments to the new Millennium ring announcer Aspen Eisley, Khalil kicked Jimmy in the crotch, catching him completely off guard. The boos grew louder from the crowd, catching the referee’s attention. As he turned around to see KW3 hammering at Scrivens with forearms, all he could guess was that the Bad Boy attacked before the bell, and the low blow went unpunished. He managed to separate them for a moment, just enough to get the match to officially start. And then Washington was right back on the attack, bombarding Jimmy with hard blows in the corner. With an irish whip he sent the olympian wrestler all the way across the ring into the opposite turnbuckle. Khalil followed with a clothesline, dropping Jimmy to a seated position and kicking him on the spine. The young man arched his back in pain, Washington sprinted across the ring and came back off the ropes with a sharp knee to the face. After making the cover, and obtaining a two, he tried to intimidate the ref, barking that he was too slow with his count. Jimmy crawled away from the distracted Bad Boy, reaching the far corner and using the ropes to get up to his feet. Washington turned around and walked to him, getting hit with a quick jab from Jimmy. Scrivens followed with more, his rapidity of execution made it hard for Khalil to dodge or block them. Inch by inch Jimmy was fighting his way out of the corner, but when he got just enough distance from the turnbuckles, he grabbed hold of his opponent and threw him onto hit with a judo hip toss. Down to make the cover he went, but the ropes were just within reach and Khalil was quick to grab them and interrupt the pinning predicament. Jimmy controlled the match throughout the whole central part, impressing the fans for power and speed of execution when he tossed Khalil around with the triple german suplex, even bridging the last one into a pin that gave him a long two count. But the match took a sudden twist when Washington connected his State Of Emergency discus clothesline. Scrivens made a complete twist in mid air and landed awkwardly on his neck. The Bad Boy saw in this an opportunity and dug in with neckbreakers and direct shots to that part of the body. Even the buckle bomb added to it, Jimmy’s head snapped back, sending shots of pain down his neck. Washington looked confident and ready to inflict more punishment with his Texas Hangover, but Jimmy slipped free and stumbled back, putting some distance between himself and the Texan Thug. He turned around, seeing Jimmy near the corner and went for his Drive By spear. Scrivens dodged it with a leapfrog and Khalil basically took himself out. Jimmy didn’t attack, rather using that time to recover and gather the strength necessary for his last attack. As Khalil finally picked himself up, still dazed, the Michigan’s born kicked him in the gut and lifted him over his shoulders, planting him on the mat with the Lion’s Roar (fireman’s carry emerald flowsion) to get the win. WINNER: Jimmy Scrivens BY: Pinfall (Lion’s Roar), 9:17 |
Always the sore loser, Washington didn't hesitate ruining Jimmy's celebration by leveling him with a clothesline to the back. He then began stomping Jimmy to the ground and, as if that wasn't enough, Marcus Ali came to help him, Bad Boyz style. The fans were booing them out of the building as they kept givning a brutal display of that gang mentality they call "Urban Warfare Tactics" on the poor Jimmy. Nobody was coming to help Scrivens, he didn't exactly made many friends in his time here. Except, maybe...
The Standout Mitchell Price came rushing down the ramp to fight the Bad Boyz and help Jimmy out. The two worked greatly together in the rumble at Daek Web III, and this apparently bult a bond, a friendship of sort between the two of them. Or at least that was what Price felt. He took on both Bad Boyz, flaunting his incredible technique and that amateur background throwing them all around the ring. Eventually the numbers game caught up on Mitchell, and the Bad Boyz were once again coming out on top. But by that time Jimmy was back on his feet, evening the odds.
He took on Khalil, leaving Marcus to Mitchell. Punches were flying in all directions, not one of them giving up a inch in this hard hitting brawl. The Bad Boyz were gaining ground, pushing the rivals toward the ropes. But Scrivens and Price fought back stunning them with hard right hands and then flipping them over the top rope with stereo belly to belly suplexes. Now that the ring was cleared and the Bad Boyz retreating, Price turned to Jimmy and offered him a handshake. It took him a while, but Scrivens eventually accepted it.

Backstage we find a member of the crew...we’re not sure if this is a cameraman, one of the guys who sets up the ring, member of the medical staff, or what...but he is a staff member and he is running for his life. Then again, you’d be running too if you were being chased by a homicidal Dalek.
Dalek:
THE HUMAN FLESH CREATURE KNOWN AS CRAIG SHALL BE EXTERMINATED!
Craig:
No! Help me!
It becomes apparent as to what got this started for Craig. You see, Craig is carrying the Lizard Championship over his shoulder; a prize possession to the eccentric Kimberly Williams, newly minted MWE Chicago Way Champion. Behind Craig and the Dalek the aforementioned Kimberly is following.
Kimberly Williams:
Get him, Rusty!
Craig hears Kim coming and looks back, seeing the fierce anger in her eyes. Unfortunately this causes him to take his eyes off the ball and he trips over some cables on the floor. He lands flat on his back. The Dalek rolls over on top of him.
Dalek:
YOU SHALL NOW BE EXTERMINATED!
Kimberly slides in while the Dalek is on top of Craig. She makes a count...1...2...3!
WINNER and NEW Lizard Champion: The Dalek!
The Dalek rolls off of Craig. Meanwhile the Chicago Way Champion gets in Craig’s face.
Kimberly Williams:
I was just taking a nap and you take advantage? Y’know, I could get you for harassment? But I’m not THAT kinda girl. I’d prefer to hurt you myself. But because I am feeling good tonight I’ll let you live. K? Bye!
Craig scrambles to his feet and runs off. Kimberly then turns to look at her Dalek, who now has the Lizard Championship belt with him...it?
Kimberly Williams:
Now for you. Sorry, buddy but this is mine.
The Woman Scorned tips Dalek over and places a foot on top. She counts the pin...1....2...3!
WINNER and NEW Lizard Champion: Kimberly Williams!
Kimberly helps Dalek back up. Then she takes hold of the Lizard Title belt and drapes it over her right shoulder, while the Chicago Way title remains wrapped around her waist.
Kimberly Williams:
Yay! All is right with the world!
Dalek:
EXTERMINATE!
Kimberly Williams:
That’s right, sweetie! We can go exterminate people now!
We arrive in Elsa McCarthy’s office where she walks around the desk with what appears to be a newly poured coffee. She is about to take a seat to relax as always having a busy night. She sits in her chair for what can only be a second and a half of comfort before the door flies open to her office. Storming in is Karen Eldon wearing a mauve wrap dress. Flanked after a few moments by a limping Clyde Eldon Jr along with Erika her daughter.
Elsa McCarthy:
Yes Karen?
Letting out a sigh fully expecting this visit at some point tonight Elsa seems none too pleased. Karen stops for a moment to point out her son. On his face is a see through mask to protect his broken nose, there is scarring over his right eye. Though unseen to the eye he is bandaged up around the waist as well.
Karen Eldon:
Look what they did to my son! You and your sadistic fans voting on a deathmatch did this. First Warblade attacks my poor daughter Erika then they do this to Clyde! We should be the ones wrestling tonight for the belts not them. We beat them one hundred times out of one hundred if it was a normal match, they have mental issues Elsa!
Screaming her lungs out as Elsa listens knowing it best to just let her run the course before stepping in.
Elsa McCarthy:
I am sorry to hear about what happened to Clyde...You and Warblade are one and one at this point. So I only see it fit to finish that. So how about at Hic Sunt Leones our next supershow. You can face them...again. Whether it be for the titles if they win tonight or in a number one contender’s match.
Not giving Elsa more than a second to finish Karen jumps in.
Karen Eldon:
My son is injured! The Doctor’s stated he broke two ribs, his nose is broken and his knee is strained as well. He may not be able to compete by then.
Clyde Eldon Jr:
I can...make it...
While Clyde tries to interject his rib pain flares up, the damages caused by Warblade causing him to cough hard. While Erika’s “injuries” were clearly fake. It is clear that Warblade did a number on Clyde.
Elsa McCarthy:
If that is the case then you can either forfeit the chance at the belts or the contendership spot...Or Karen if you want your revenge you can find a new partner if Clyde can’t wrestle.
This time Karen actually has to consider what she is saying. While her desire for revenge is high, her desire for a shot at the belts is even higher.
Karen Eldon:
Clyde will make it and if not...We’ll figure it out.
Clearly frustrated with the circumstances Karen angrily leaves the office in a hug. Elsa nods her head in agreement while Erika assists Clyde as he slowly limps out of the office. Elsa waits until the door is closed behind them to breathe a sigh of relief as she slowly takes a sip of her coffee.
Singles Match
Morag Bean VS Andrew RaynesComing off his big win over the number one contender to the IC championship West Long at Dark Web III, Raynes looked to make quick work out of Morag, charging at Morag. With the clear size advantage, Andrew took control using his superior strength. Getting behind her, he took her down with an Inverted DDT. Morag went down hard, and before she could recover, Raynes dropped an elbow on her, followed by another, and then a third. He then grabbed the Scot by the hair, pulling her to her feet, and then rebounded off the ropes for a massive clothesline. Andrew then went to pull Morag to her feet again, but the Cannibal Queen countered with a sitout jawbreaker and finally got some room to catch a break. As Raynes went back on the attack, she hit him with a dropkick, following up with a Hurricanrana when he got up Andrew countered with a powerbomb, slamming her to the mat and Morag rolled away groaning reaching the ropes. This sense of urgency cost Raynes as he ended up flying outside the ring when he charged and toward Morag who surprised him by lowering the top rope. He landed hard on the floor but was up to his feet right away, only to be swept away against the barricade by Bean’s baseball slide. Morag looked like a woman possessed, pacing and yelling at the referee, even grabbing him by the shirt. A weird, even for her standards, behavior that had no explanation but to keep the attention on her while Meera Makara leveled the Embracer Of Hate with a big boot to the head. The match was back in the ring, Morag had a good chance to end things but her A75 (top rope senton) found nobody home. When she got up, she was lifted and driven back into the corner by the canadian who began thrusting his shoulder into Morag’s midsection. When he stopped, she dropped to her knees and he blasted her with the Code Of The Sith. Andrew hooked both legs but Morag had still some fight in her. The Embracer Of Hate left the ring and went up on top, ready to strike with the Rayne Drop. Meera tried to get involved once again, but received a kick to the face for her troubles. She did buy Morag some time though, and when Raynes turned back to her, he saw her coming at him and reaching him on the top rope. She bit his face before bringing him down to the mat with a spanish fly, but unfortunately she couldn’t keep him down for the three. The Scot went down, stalking the opponent like a predator, waiting for the perfect chance to strike. He started to rise, she rose with him and went for the Iron Fang (RKO). Raynes saw that coming and pushed her into the ropes. As she bounced off, he leaped and planted her with the Hate Never Sleeps dropping her on her face and picking up the emphatic win. WINNER: Andrew Raynes BY: Pinfall (Hate Never Sleeps), 8:55 |
Drew Dream, wearing a white hoodie with a yellow smiley face looks into the camera.
Drew Dream:
Whew. It’s been a while. I’m not sure if I remember how to do this…
Drew takes a sigh.
Drew Dream:
So typically I would be standing here with my big yellow plastic Smileyface but I’m hardly the face of Millennium like some people might have predicted when I finally signed my contract. I’m fine with it. It’s rare that I get to fly under the radar, and be treated as the weak link in the chain. I’ll be honest, though. My absence was hardly some elaborate scheme to lower my profile and camouflage myself in some sort of underdog status. Do you think it’s my fault Kory Kramp needed a tag team partner? No! It’s not like I didn’t try.
Drew takes another sigh.
Drew Dream:
It’s been a while. Let’s see if I remember how to do this. My name is Drew Dream. I'm from Atlanta, Georgia. I ran away from a sour, toxic, abusive home. I haven’t earned myself a reputation, I'm excited for the opportunity at the Lockdown Championship. I am the best Shining Road World Heavyweight Champion in history. Longest reigning. My opponent is Dusty Douglas, who beat Hammerstein for the Lockdown Championship. A worthy opponent. I look forward to getting back into the ring in solo competition for my favorite company for my favorite championship, but Douglas, I gotta ask what the Lockdown Championship means to you? To me, this championship means I get to define my dream. This championship represents overcoming adversity and justifying everything I believe about myself, and it means I can be more than what I came from.
The scene fades to black.
“Loner Boogie” by Boy Azooga plays over the PA system, instantly creating a buzz amongst those present inside the arena, and once the song's intro finishes, Lowri Moss walks out through the curtains, which only causes the cheers to increase in volume. Dressed casually, with the Cloud Gate Championship over one shoulder, Lowri stands on the stage for a moment, smiling broadly as she surveys the crowd, savouring the reception. She makes her way along the ramp towards the ring, although there is still no slapping of hands from her with any of the fans on either side of the aisle, due to the current circumstances. After climbing the steps and entering the ring, Lowri heads for one of the corners, climbs to the second rope and gestures to the fans watching, both in the venue and at home, by making the ILY sign with her right hand. Lowri then goes to collect a microphone, and as her music fades out, she glances around at the fans that are in attendance, basking in their cheers. She starts by giving her usual greeting.
Lowri Moss:
What’s occurring, Hershey?
The customary cheap pop follows, although again the pop is not as loud as it normally would be, due to the limited number of people inside the building.
Lowri Moss:
You know, I remember hearing someone say once that, “first defences are the worst.” Well, a week and a half ago at Dark Web, I certainly found myself faced with some unfavourable circumstances for my first defence of the Cloud Gate Championship. Not only did I have to defend the title in a triple threat match, meaning I could’ve potentially lost it without even being involved in the decision, but the match could also only be won by submission, which… like I spoke about prior to the match, submission wrestling isn’t exactly my strong suit.
She gives a shake of her head.
Lowri Moss:
In spite of those unfavourable circumstances though, I welcomed the challenge. Challenges help us all to grow and to improve, and so rather than looking at it in a negative light, I saw it as another chance for me to display my versatility and to prove to everyone that I can still win even when I find myself in a disadvantageous situation.
With a smile on her face, Lowri continues.
Lowri Moss:
I was determined not to be the first champion in MWE history to have their reign be ended in their first defence, and if that meant that I had to win a triple threat match, which could only be won by submission, then so be it. It was a challenge I knew I could overcome, although I also knew that to do so, I was probably going to need to come up with something new, something that neither Matt or Christina could’ve possibly expected from me, which is what you all witnessed with the Dragon sleeper.
A small sigh escapes her lips.
Lowri Moss:
I admit I have to give credit to my other half for that one.
Was that last part said through gritted teeth? You decide.
Lowri Moss:
There may well have been times during the match when those of you watching thought that the title was on the verge of slipping away from me, but I never doubted that I would win, not for one second, and with a little help from my new trick, I was able to successfully come through my first defence, so that I can stand here now as still the Cloud Gate Champion.
Lowri looks towards the title resting on her shoulder for a moment. She then continues.
Lowri Moss:
So… with one defence in the books, I guess now I should look ahead to what comes next. And after winning the title at Domino Effect, and then defending it for the first time at Dark Web, I don’t want to have to wait until the next pay-per-view event to defend it for the second time. Unfortunately though, it’s not going to happen tonight--
There are boos from some members of the audience, disappointed by that news.
Lowri Moss:
I know, I hear you, but sadly I’m not booked in a match tonight, and as you can all see, I’m not dressed to compete.
Unless it is in a street fight, dressed as she is in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.
Lowri Moss:
It will, however, happen in seven days’ time. But who, I’m sure you’re all wondering, will I be defending the title against?
She glances around at the crowd on each side of the ring, looking to see whether any of the fans have a suggestion as to who her next challenger should be-- if they do, it is not picked up by any of the microphones.
Lowri Moss:
The answer is that it could be anyone. You see, when I won the Cloud Gate Championship, I said that I was ready to defend it against all comers, and that wasn’t lip service, so what I’m here to do right now is to issue an open challenge. Anyone on the Millennium roster who wants a shot this title--
She taps the faceplate of her championship.
Lowri Moss:
Now’s your chance. Step up, and next Wednesday night you can have a match with me… for this.
Lowri takes the title from off her shoulder and raises the belt in the air. As she holds the title aloft, the fans cheer once more, and then a few seconds later, “Loner Boogie” by Boy Azooga begins to play again, at which point, Lowri places the belt back on her shoulder and goes to hand back her microphone, before exiting the ring and heading backstage.
Lockdown Championship Match
Dusty's rule: 5 count
Dusty Douglas VS Drew DreamDusty's rule: 5 count
The Murder Train looked ready and not at all nervous as he looked at his opponent for the second Lockdown championship defense. The size difference was definitely a point in favor of the Murder Train and Drew’s record in MWE looked rather embarrassing compared to his undefeated streak in singles competition. But Dream showed a new attitude at Dark Web III, ruthlessly dropping his tag partner Kory Kramp to focus more on his single career. A win tonight, ending the streak and taking the title in the process could be a huge way to kickstart this new chapter, and the Airhead Of Atlanta really tried, starting the match with a newfound determination and taking the fight headfirst to Dusty. But the Lockdown champion was the textbook definition of the unmovable object, barely flinching at Dream’s kicks. He eventually got bored and shoved Drew to the mat, nearby the corner. Dream quickly got up but a shotgun dropkick by the 290 pounder pushed him back into the turnbuckles. The Murder Train lit up Drew’s chest with a flurry of hard chops and then just threw him to the center of the ring without too many frills. Douglas then exploded out of the corner with a running high knee to the rising opponent, sending him back on his back. No wasted motions for the Murder Train, who jumped on Dream with a senton, squashing him and picking up an early two. The two men went back to the fists, throwing them violently into each other’s face. Perhaps not the wisest choice on Drew’s side but if anything he showed he wasn’t afraid of the Big Nasty. Big Mistake. Punch after punch, Douglas won the exchange to nobody’s surprise and threw Dream against the ropes extending his arm for a standing clothesline. The candy obsessed man from Atlanta ducked it by a hair and continued his run to the opposite side of the ring, bouncing once again off the ropes and launching himself against the Lockdown champion, putting all his strength and momentum into that forearm strike. Dusty felt this one, staggering back a few steps. But he remained on his feet, resisting a second strike as well. Dream went for a third one but Dusty picked him up and slammed him into the canvas with a samoan drop that knocked the wind off his sails. If this was a regular match, the Sweet Tooth/Gobstopper combination, a running hip attack followed by Dream’s trademark running single leg high knee, we might have a new champion. But even if Dusty kicked out a moment after the three, it wasn’t enough for Drew to win the match. He would need a lot more to keep Douglas down for five seconds, perhaps a second Gobstopper could get the job done. Douglas dodged it and kicked Drew in the stomach as he turned around, lifting him upside down with a stalling vertical suplex. He kept the opponent upside down for a long time, an uncomfortable position for Dream who welcomed the moment Douglas brought him down on the mat with a sigh of relief before the obvious groan of pain. Drew still kicked out before the five, but things were about to take a bad turn for him. First the Murder Train threw a volley of open palm strikes that forced him against the ropes, then he whipped him all the way across the ring and caught him with a spinning spinebuster as he came back off the rebound. Another cover, another kick out in four for Dream, but it was clear that the Airhead From Atlanta was on his last leg. He managed somehow to get one last, desperate reaction, catching Dustin with The BJ. He entrusted his hopes to walk out with the win on his Whirling Candy (spinning crossbody), but the big man caught him in midair. Drew used his elbow on Douglas’ jaw to escape his grasp, but as soon as he successfully did it, Dusty blasted him with the Hyper Beam spinning back fist. The impact was so hard that Drew made a complete spin before flopping face first on the mat. Dusty wasted no time to hoist him up and deliver the Giga Impact, obtaining the five count and the win, marking his second successful defense. WINNER: Dusty Douglas (STILL LOCKDOWN CHAMPION) BY: Pinfall (Giga Impact), 10:08 |
We cut backstage where we’re greeted to a fresh faced tuxedo-clad interviewer smiling at the camera. We’ll call him Roger.
Roger:
Hello Millennium! We have an exciting show tonight and one of the things that I’m most excited about is an opportunity to interview a new face here, so without further ado, allow me to introduce you all to Miss Nicole Rossi!
The sounds of heels approaching closer to where Roger is standing can be heard before Nicole appears within the view of the camera. The blonde is dressed in a light grey pencil skirt with one long slit halfway along the back with a front ruffled sleeveless pink blouse. Her blonde hair has been curled for the evening as she runs her fingers through the fresh curls a little bit.
Nicole Rossi:
I’m thrilled to be here tonight and know that I’m more than likely one of the hottest sights Pennsylvania has seen in decades.
The self confident smirk on Nicole’s face is rather telling of the kind of woman she was as she makes a snapping motion with two fingers for Roger to get started with his questions.
Roger:
Oh uhh, right! Well my first question I guess is what is it you’re planning on doing here in Millennium? We really don’t know all that about you.
Nicole Rossi:
I’ve always believed that I have an eye for great talent, so getting a closer look was a definite must for me, and we both know that my good friend Matt needs someone to keep an eye on him so he doesn’t get in over his head. It would be a shame for him to get sidetracked.
Roger nods his head as she speaks, thinking for a second.
Roger:
So you’re here to get a first hand look at Matt Stone? Of all the people here in Millennium though why would you be interested in him? Not to knock him, but we have a lot of stars here that could maybe use some direction.
Nicole scoffs a little as she places her hands on her hips.
Nicole Rossi:
Oh I’m sure that the roster here is FILLED with all kinds of talented people who would love to have some of my attention, but I have personal reasons as to why I’m invested in Matt Stone.
His eyes light up a bit and a small smile starts to appear like he’s getting a fresh scoop.
Roger:
Personal reasons? Now that sounds interesting, care to delve a little deeper into what that means?
The smirk grows on Nicole’s face as she reaches up towards Roger’s face with one hand in order to lightly tap him on the cheek a few times.
Nicole Rossi:
Now now, you know what they said about curiosity and the cat.
??:
Curiosity stole the cat’s interview time?
A voice from off camera is heard as we see Matt Stone make his appearance on camera, looking annoyed.
Matt Stone:
What are you doing?
Roger:
I was just intervi-
Matt Stone:
Not you!
Nicole’s mouth drops open as she feigns an expression of being shocked, placing one hand over her heart as she keeps her eyes focused on Matt.
Nicole Rossi:
I didn’t steal anything! I can’t believe you would accuse me of such a thing.
Matt Stone:
I can’t believe you would do an interview without me!
Roger:
Well now that you’re-
Matt Stone:
Be quiet, can’t you see we’re talking here?
Roger looks between the both of them unsure of what to do next as Nicole places her hands back on her hip, a determined expression on her face as she takes a step closer towards Matt.
Nicole Rossi:
Is it my fault that people want to know more about me? You can’t blame them for that.
Matt Stone:
Well why not start a podcast then? Everyone loves those, but this is my show and I have to tell everyone why I’m going to beat Melody Lennox and how important this match is and all that. You’re hurting my stock by going behind my back.
Nicole Rossi:
Do you really need to be that dramatic about it?
Nicole rolls her eyes as she waves off Matt with one hand in a dismissive manner.
Nicole Rossi:
Nobody wants to hear about Melody Lennox anyway.
Matt Stone:
I’m sure you’re dead wrong about that, but there’s no need to dwell on it on your first day here. I have a feeling you’ll be wrong about plenty in the future. I had my first title match here at Dark Web 3 and I didn’t win it, so I’m already annoyed and the fact that I’m not the focus of my own interview is just fueling that fire.
Nicole Rossi:
Geez, I didn’t realize you wanted to talk to Robert that bad.
Roger:
Actually it’s Roger…
Nicole looks over at him almost as if she was forgotten he was there in the first place, there’s a brief moment of silence before she begins to laugh.
Nicole Rossi:
Of course it is, what was I thinking? You should ask Matt some of your silly little questions so he can stop throwing this temper tantrum like a big baby.
Roger:
Actually I’m being told that we’re out of time now so...thanks for the interview!
Matt Stone:
Oh that’s just great!
Nicole shrugs her shoulders as if not understanding what the issue was before she takes a hold of Matt’s arm to start leading him down the hall, the camera cutting away as she’s speaking.
Nicole Rossi:
Now you have time to get me a bottle of water before your match.
We cut to a dark boiler room area. It is dimly lit and gives off a creepy feeling, an air of impending doom. A few moments pass with complete emptiness until footsteps echo off in the distance. Then a hooded figure steps into the scene. Based on the silhouette it is a female and she is wearing black pants, black boots, and a black hooded leather jacket. She stands with her back to the camera so we still cannot tell the identity of this individual. The mystery remains for a few more moments as she remains silent, but once she speaks all doubt as to her identity is erased…
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Change is inevitable.
The voice is clearly that of The Archangel. The former MWE World Tag Team Champion turns around and we can now see her face, framed by her long blonde hair with hot pink highlights. The GCW Global Tag Team Championship title belt which she does still possess is wrapped around her waist.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Nothing lasts forever, especially not in this business. The greatest of champions with the most dominating of reigns, even they are not immortal. Immortality exists in history, in legend, but not inside a wrestling ring. As good as you are you will inevitably run into someone better who will topple you and end your run at the top. Summer and myself reunited a few years ago with the purpose of proving to the world that we still were the greatest tag team in the world today. And at our peak we were the tag champions of both Global Championship Wrestling and Millennium Wrestling Enterprise, simultaneously.
She pats the title belt around her waist and chuckles.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Obviously I am missing a piece of hardware that was very near and dear to my heart. Those of you watched Dark Web know exactly what happened. Now unlike some in this sport, I will not make any excuses. What happened was Singh and Adelson were better than Summer and I on that night. They beat us clean and are deserving of their run as the best tag team in MWE, the new MWE World Tag Team Champions. Congratulations, you two have earned it. And maybe, sometime down the road, the four of us will dance again.
Lasiewicz shakes her head.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
That isn’t going to happen anytime soon. As much as the fans may want to see it, and as much as my best friend Summer may want it, it won’t happen anytime soon. As I told Summer, we are still Fabulous. We always will be. And we still have a time and place to work our craft as Fabulous. But being Fabulous 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year sometimes wears thin. And it also causes people to forget exactly what lies beneath the layer of beauty and Fabulous elegance. What lies beneath the layer you may know as Fabulous is one of the most dangerous, one of the deadliest competitors to ever lace up a pair of wrestling boots. What lies beneath the exterior of what you know as a tremendous tag team specialist is a former TWO TIME GCW World Champion. Am I Fabulous? Absolutely. I always will be. But I am also The Archangel, a woman who has done battle with monsters, demons, and slayed them all.
An intense fire is in Jessica’s eyes as she glares into the camera.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
It is time that I remind everyone in the wrestling world exactly what The Archangel is capable of! Now I heard Lowri Moss, the new Cloud Gate Champion, go out to the ring and issue an open to challenge to anyone who wanted a shot at her title? That’s funny, that’s ironic. You see, that Cloud Gate Title is a championship once held by Anastasia Starling. Anastasia is my cousin. And I think it’s high time that I brought that championship back to the family. Consider your challenge accepted.
Singles Match
Matt Stone VS Melody LennoxA match between two competitors who came to MWE with high promises and, so far, failed to keep them. Matt’s run hasn’t actually been as bad as he made out to be, but the Abominable Showman thought it would be much easier for him to achieve gold, probably underestimating the level of talent signed to the green roster. With Nicole Rossi taking seat at ringside, the match was finally underway. Matt wasted no time in going after Mel, but she ducked at a lockup attempt and circled around. She quickly laid into Stone's legs with quick kick strikes. The Straight Shooter took a few of those before he eventually managed to block those kicks and counter with a quick 1-2 jab. He forced her back to the ropes and whipped her across the ring. Lennox came back to jump up and deliver a swift Hurricanrana, sending him to his back. He quickly got back to his feet, and charged after her. Melody jumped up and went for what looked like another Hurricanrana attempt, this one countered with a powerbomb by Stone. Lennox countered the counter by shifting her weight and sending Matt through the ropes and outside the ring. Showing incredible balance and agility, the Smol But Mighty jumped on the middle rope and from there to the top one, flying onto Matt with a springboard shooting star to the outside, receiving the greatest pop of the night for this incredible feat. Unfortunately for her she couldn’t capitalize on the outside, and before she could take the fight back into the ring, Matt drove his elbow in her ribs and slammed her head against the edge of the ring. After taking back control, he pushed her back under the bottom rope and made a cover, getting a two out of it. It wasn’t enough to win the match, but it gave him a clear advantage he fully exploited, obtaining several other near falls in the following minutes, the closest to three coming with his stalling piledriver called Piledriving Miss Daisy. Nicole at ringside looked fairly impressed by what she had seen so far. Melody had no interest in impressing the woman, but her performance tonight was one of the best we saw from her in a long time. She used her evasion skills to stay away from Matt’s offense and surprised him with the chokehold STO. With Matt down, Lennox applied a hoverboard lock, bombarding the man with several head stompings. At the end of it, Matt was definitely feeling groggy, getting up and stumbling into the corner while the referee had a word with Melody about her overly aggressive display. She ran past the official, hitting the Name Dropper with a corner splash and transitioning herself on the apron, climbing up to the top rope. There she waited until Stone picked himself up and jumped at him for a diving hurricanrana, only getting a two out of it. The last part of the match saw the pace sensibly picking up, the action becoming fast and furious. Which clearly was clearly playing in the Villainess’ favor. Once again she came very close to the win with her Off Key Symphony, but Matt’s foot was under the bottom rope and the ref had to stop the count. The turning point was when, out of nowhere, the Canadian hit his running STO and transitioned into an anaconda vise in one fluid motion. It took Melody a while to escape the submission, and it took a great toll on her. All the better for Stone who stayed on the offensive and kept the tiny opponent grounded. When he had her sufficiently worn out, he locked her in The Danger Zone (Katahajime). Despite her attempt to escape, Melody had to eventually tap out. WINNER: Matt Stone BY: Submission (The Danger Zone), 12:17 |
The scene opens backstage. Kyle Butler is standing in front of the Millennium banner. He has his hands by his side. It’s clear he is in a better mood than he has been as of late.
Kyle Butler:
Humbling The Bad Boyz feels so GODDAMN GOOD BAYBEEEEEEEEEEE.
Kyle thumbs his chest. He cracks a smirk. Instantly the smirk goes away.
Kyle Butler:
Drawing a little blood is not the end all cure all for what I have been feeling as of late. What dawned on me after I watched The Murder Train beat Hammerstein for the Lockdown Championship was... am I destined to be the guy to lose to the next guy? Think about it. Me and Atticus Valentine put on a hell of a match at the 3 Year Anniversary show. He beat me, then marched on to become the Chicago Way Champion. Hammerstein made an example out of me at Coup De Grace. I had an incredible run in the Sandstorm Tournament only to be just another number on Dustin’s streak. Of course he becomes the Lockdown Champion. Feels like fate has destined for me to be the guy to be the launch pad for another guy and I am damn sick of it!!
Kyle rolls his eyes.
Kyle Butler:
Duke Andrews, stepping inside the ring with you, a man who has challenged for the World Championship at Dark Web III and Domino Effect is a huge deal. If I can overcome the so-called Epitome of Perfection; huge statement maker. Or this could be the same old same old. You are right about your tweet earlier in the week, you do need to rebuild. I am going to do everything in my power to ensure your rebuilding process does not come at my expense. You are not going to use me to get back in the win column. I am not going to be a stepping stone to assert your dominance. Don’t think I have forgotten about last year. On June 11th, 2020, you beat me in the middle of the ring. At By Any Means, with the help of the McMillions by the way, you and Alan stole the Tag Team Championships from me and Neil, me planting your big thick head into the mat has been a receipt long overdue.
Read my lips, I am not playing a role in someone elses rise to the top. The TIDE will ROLL straight through you like a goddamn train!
Kyle dust off his hands. He storms off as the scene fades to black.
PRERECORDED
The gym was dimly lit as the camera focused on the visual of the wall. Wrestling titles and championships glossed from the ceiling to nearly the floor for as far as the camera could see. The first that is spotted is the Professional Wrestling Today World Championship title. ‘David Van Dam’ etched on the nameplate. Another hanging next to it ‘Christian Michaels’ etched on the same title. The rest of the titles blurred out. The black and red font on the Bytches Ultimate Domain World Heavyweight Championship with ‘Duke Andrews’ etched on that plate.
The sound coming from behind is the sound of combos being thrown against a heavy bag. The grunts coming make you know it’s a heavyweight that’s striking the bag.
The banner hanging from the rafter “MidWest Wrestling School"
Finally the image of our athlete in question. A sleeveless bright orange Under Armour t-shirt with the MWS logo in white on the back, drenched in sweat. The tendon tape holding together the physically beaten Duke Andrews, his right shoulder and his right knee. Looking more like a retired football player than one of the top wrestlers in MWE.
Duke Andrews:
I get it. I finally got what you were saying.
The heavy breathing continues as he grabs a towel and wipes his face down before turning towards the camera.
Duke Andrews:
But it isn’t what you think Seth. It isn’t that you flipped the proverbial light switch in my head, on. Seth you pushed me to my limit and I know that you are thankful for whatever that was that saved you. You know that deep down you weren’t safe in leaving that bar with your title. But I had to hit the restart button.
Duke had began pacing. The gym empty. Hours after class had gone home for the night. The ring was state of the art, yet didn’t have an apron on or skirt along the side. He leaned against the apron and snapped his head back towards the camera.
Duke Andrews:
That’s where the trouble begins for you Kyle. This match isn’t about saving myself at the top of the card. This match was handed to me to refocus and come back stronger. I asked for this. I asked for you. Funny how that comes, Twitter will have you believing I’m some arrogant cock that doesn’t keep an eye. But when I needed to refocus, I found the best wrestler on the roster, next to me. And that’s where you come in. You are on your path to whatever your destination is. I’m heading right back for the title that should be mine.
He tossed the towel out of vision of the camera and into a moving plastic trash can that’s being pushed by a man in his sixties. Nodding his head, the bright yellow lettering on the back of his black t-shirt reads “cleaning crew”
Duke Andrews:
Kyle you don’t know this yet and won’t know this until after the show. But when I said I was going to break your leg, that wasn’t me being a dick, that was me being reasonable and explaining to you that I’m going to twist and break everything inside of you. Here’s your warning and your heads up, when we step into the ring, it’s lights out. Unfortunately this is where the tide stops rolling.
Fade.
Singles Match
Kyle Butler VS Duke AndrewsAfter suffering a tough loss at Dark Web III against Seth Iser in that memorable Bar Room Brawl, Duke Andrews found himself back to square one and outside the title picture. Wanting to re establish himself as one of the main guys in MWE, Andrews approached this match with the right mentality, a mix of confidence and respect for the opponent’s ability. The same applied for Kyle, who may not like Duke from the APE versus Golden Era days, but can’t question what Michigan’s Favorite Son can do in a ring. The two wrestlers locked up in the center of the ring. Andrews pushed Butler to the corner, but the former tag champion side stepped and moved behind him to connect a snap german suplex. Duke immediately got up and swiped the feet from under Kyle Butler who crashed to the mat. The Epitome Of Perfection laid out some punishment in the form of his Red Wing Stomps. The two locked up once more, and just like before the strength advantage favored Duke who threw the opponent into the ropes. Butler ducked under the clothesline and halted his run, doubling Andrews over with a kick to the gut as he turned around. He then wrapped his arms around his head, spun around and dropped the man down with a neckbreaker. Too early for a cover, so Butler picked up the opponent, dragging him to his feet. Andrews met him with a couple of shots to the ribs, shifting to knee strikes into the midsection once he regained a vertical base. Once again he pushed the Golden Era member into the ropes, lifting and slamming him into the canvas with a spinebuster as he bounced back. Duke made the cover, but the first pinning predicament of the match only gave him a count of two. Duke attempted to keep advantage over Butler but he was ready for him. Yet another irish whip was countered by the Master Of The Roll Tide, who then waited on the rebound to flip the two time Lockdown champion in the air with a back body drop. Duke arched his back upon landing, Butler went right into a rear chinlock using his knee to put pressure on Andrews’ back and spine. Duke pushed himself up, and Kyle switched right away into a sleeper hold, squeezing the life out of the Grand Rapids born. Struggling to breathe, Duke launched himself all the way back into the turnbuckle. Despite being squashed into the corner, Kyle kept the hold locked, and it took Andrews two more attempts to break free. But when he did, he pushed the opponent into the corner repeatedly with numerous shoulder tackles before he climbed to the second rope to drop the ten punches at the turnbuckles. Only seven hit the target before Kyle slipped through the legs of the co-founder of APE and took him on his shoulders, running to the middle of the ring where he dropped him with a powerbomb. Andrews kicked out in time. Things were taken up a notch in the final moments where the two engaged in one of the hardest hitting contests in recent memory. Punches flying back and forth between the two contenders, the fans caught up in the exchange cheering or booing according to whoever was getting the upper hand. Clearly Kyle was their favorite, and perhaps this support was what helped the former tag champion to come out on top. Four consecutive uppercuts and Duke found himself in the corner. And Butler had no intention to stop. More strikes hit Andrews, heavy forearms to the jaw and sharp punches into the midsection. Kyle was on fire, letting out a roar at the end of sequence and hoisting the opponent to the top rope. Up he went as well to connect a super belly to belly. As he made the cover though, he found out what Seth learned at Dark Web III. Duke is one tough SOB. The Pennsylvania fans witnessed something you don’t see everyday, a top rope moonsault from Butler. Unfortunately for them, and for him, the risk didn’t pay out. Andrews rolled out of the way and the former tag champion crashed to the mat. As he was getting up, Andrews blasted him with the Killshot knee strike. If that wasn’t a knockout blow per se, the Andrews Effect that followed definitely did it for Duke. WINNER: Duke Andrews BY: Pinfall (Andrews Effect), 15:20 |
Qiyara SIngh:
To come so far and work so hard at something and then to finally achieve it.
There was a certain demeanor of achievement that came with the image of Qiyara Singh, holding one half of the tag team titles in her hand. The year and a half chase to finally capture the gold obviously showing the determination she and Rhett had in finally grabbing hold of the gold. Speaking of Rhett he looked just as happy to finally have gotten his hands on the coveted Tag Team Straps. Though his admiration of his was quieter, much like it had been in these past few weeks. He seemed more reserved and yet perhaps humbled.
Qiyara Singh:
Yet, we find there isn’t much time for celebration and that is exactly how we would want our tag team reign to be. Some may find who we’re defending against to be the wrong choice, but it isn’t exactly like we’ve set out to decide those decisions for ourselves, yet we all know that certain person has never exactly been capable of asking for a title shot anyways, she actually isn’t capable of much aside from spewing nonsense and complaining.
A quick little laugh was given by Qiyara who was rarely one to talk about anyone, but she quickly turned her head to raise her tag team belt up to her shoulder and stand on the bench of the locker room that she and Rhett shared.
Qiyara Singh:
That’s all the entertainment we’ll give that particular notion nonetheless, tonight we face off against Warblade 42, a team we have met numerous times in the ring before and one we know can bring their very best in that same sense. It only makes proper sense that this match be the penulimate Millennium main event then, yes?
There was a moment of pause when she asked the question before Rhett cleared his throat and took his eyes away from his championship.
Rhett Adelson:
You’re damn right it is, but don’t get it twisted, Yara and I didn’t work this hard to finally grab hold of these to let them go so quickly. We almost gave up for a moment in time, but managed to recapture our stride. We’ve fought long and hard to finally get to wear this gold, and we don’t plan on letting go of it anytime soon.
He seemed assured in his words, and Yara could do nothing but agree with that statement with an assured grin.
Qiyara Singh:
We know you would expect no less of as well, We know the battle you fought at Dark Web III was exerting and we know that you’re capable of so many things, and thus we wouldn’t offer you anything less than our best in return for what we know you will be bringing to the ring. Nevertheless, its time we show that these belts mean much more to us than just claiming them as a prize, they are the proof that we are the best tag team in this division no matter who wants to claim otherwise, right now, at this point in time and that means that we’ve got to show the world exactly why that is. The road to capture them was hard, but the road to keep them we know that’s going to be even harder.
Rhett gave an affirmative nod before hoisting his own belt up onto his shoulder now.
Rhett Adelson:
But if anyone knows anything about battles, that’s me and Yara. Tonight we take the war to you, Warblade 42 and when all is said and done, we’ll SYOTOS.
Yara took his hand then and gave her usual nod before offering her final phrase.
Qiyara Singh:
See you out there!
MWE Tag Team Championship Match
Rhett Adelson & Qiyara Singh © VS Warblade 42
Peyton Holland: “And here we go, folks. It’s main event time!” Ambra Monroe: “Ten days after being in that brutal cage match Rhett & Qiyara already have to defend the titles they chased for a year and half. Can’t say they’re making it easy for Rhett and Qiyara.” Peyton Holland: “Well, you know what they say… Becoming champion is the easy part, staying one… That’s where the real challenge lies. And to be fair, the challengers didn’t have it any easier at the last PPV.” Ambra Monroe: “You make a good point, Valkyrie and Niko just went through a deathmatch against the Eldons. There’s no way either of those teams is at 100% tonight.” Peyton Holland: “Yeah, all four of them will most likely be feeling the consequences of those matches, especially if things will drag on.” Qiyara and Valkyrie were the ones elected to start the hostilities after a quick consultation with the respective partners. Ever the class act, the Indian went for a respectful handshake to officially start things off, and the Great Dane Bitch, despite the name, accepted the display of sportsmanship from a competitor she definitely respected. But after the bell rang, things got serious. Vee surprised Qiyara with a stiff forearm, the first of a rapid fire sequence that pushed the champion back into the ropes. The Warmaiden Of Roskilde whipped Singh all the way across the ring, but her clothesline caught nothing but thin air as Qi ducked it, coming back at her with a springboard enziguri kick. Vee went down but immediately popped up to her feet. Singh seemed surprised but quickly shook off that moment of confusion and delivered some swift kicks to the legs and sides. Valkyrie blocked one of those and threw a quick jab to the jaw that staggered Qiyara, then dropped her with an explosive T-Bone suplex into the turnbuckles. Tag to Niko who entered with a slingshot dropkick to Qiyara’s face. Peyton Holland: “Warblade 42 taking the early advantage. It’s a huge opportunity for them and they certainly don’t want to miss it.” Niko around Singh’s waist, and hit a deadlift German suplex. She kept the hold, and hit a second one, followed by a third German suplex! Yua then picked Qiyara up and slinged her to the ropes, hitting a dropkick as she came back. What Niko didn’t realize was that Rhett made the tag, and he was now the legal man. He entered the ring with a springboard superman punch, knocking the Japanese down. He taunted Valkyrie to come and get some as well, and the Dane took the bait. He sent her face first into the mat and quickly took a run to the ropes, gaining some speed to blast her with the Explosion to the side of the head that sent Valkyrie rolling out of the ring. Niko was up to her feet and swung her leg for a roundhouse kick but once again Rhett’s speed came in handy and he was able to duck it, standing up behind the japanese wrestler’s shoulders and dropping her on her head with a reverse hurricanrana. Ambra Monroe: “Whatever was Rhett’s issue a couple of months ago, he seems to be well over it now.” Peyton Holland: “I think only him and Qiyara can answer that, but if anything he seems able to keep his problems out of the ring now, and stay focused on the task at hand.” The match continued and Rhett and Qiyara surely showed why they are tag team champions. Their chemistry had never been in doubt but tonight, perhaps thanks to the extra confidence the titles gave them, they were basically perfect. Quick tags and a lot of combined moves allowed them to control the match, keeping Niko away from her partner. Qiyara hit her double underhook suplex and made the tag to Rhett who climbed to the top rope, ready to jump with the Nightfall Splash, his personal tribute to his mentor Chris Night. But he hesitated, distracted by Gareth Prichard walking on the stage, briefcase and steel chair in hand. A deja-vu from Riot’s main event last Sunday, the only difference being that he was sporting a Pendragon shirt. Peyton Holland: “What is he doing here?” Ambra Monroe: “He said multiple times that no champion is safe… I guess he’s putting Rhett and Qiyara on notice too.” Peyton Holland: “But… Can he cash in the briefcase for the Tag Titles? I thought it was singles championships only..” Ambra Monroe: “It says ANY title, so I’m assuming they’re not excluded? Although it would be an odd route to go.” Peyton Holland: “Surely is, but fascinating nonetheless. Pendragon is one of the best tag teams in the business.” Niko capitalized on the distraction to reach Rhett on top and take him down with a spectacular hurricanrana. Both competitors were down, crawling to the respective partners to make a double tag. Qiyara and Valkyrie took once again the stage, picking up where they left early: Singh throwing her deadly kicks, Vee trying to stay away from them and using her raw power when possible. The Great Dane Bitch dropped the champion violently on the mat with a folding powerbomb, but Rhett managed to break the pinning predicament before the referee’s hand reached the mat a third time. It was now Warblade’s time to shine, Niko and Vee were taking turns in beating up Qiyara as she found herself stuck in the wrong side of town. Peyton Holland: “Things are not looking good for the champions now.” Ambra Monroe: “Qi desperately needs to make the tag.” Peyton Holland: “It might be a bit too late for that.. They’re ready for the Knockout Junction!” The referee didn’t see it, but Karen Eldon jumped the barricade and grabbed Valkyrie’s foot as she hit the ropes to get more momentum behind the Hammer Of Thor. He heard the Dane cursing, but having no proof that Eldon got physically involved, he could only assume she provided a distraction. Niko still went for the Meteor Strike, but Qiyara dodged it and unleashed the Qi To Your Heart. After landing the jumping kick to the chest, she dove toward Rhett, finally making the tag. Adelson didn’t hesitate and connected the Explosion (running single leg front dropkick to Niko before she could even stand up. Valkyrie pushed Karen away and tried to make the save, but Qiyara intercepted her with the 540 spinning hook kick, preventing her from interrupting the three count. WINNER: Rhett Adelson & Qiyara Singh (STILL MWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS) BY: Pinfall (Explosion), 19:23 |
