MILLENNIUM XIV: Cross the Boss
Live from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA
Saturday, August 25, 2018
The show comes to life panning over pyrotechnic display on the Millennium Wrestling stage: The large metallic M hanging over the stage itself, with wrestlers emerging from beneath the heavy spiked. "Waking Lions" by Pop Evil blasts through the arena, pumping up the audience in attendance. The cameras pan around the arena, showcasing the sold-out crowd, focusing in on a few of the fan-made signs:
"YANGARANG" “GVB” “STEELE CITY” “If Zelda Is Gone Then Who Is Daddy?” “LET MY PEOPLE FIGHT” “#AgainstTheWall” “Nora’s Gonna Kill You” “Viva La Vivi” “Whatever Happened to the Have My Babies Guy?”
The show cuts to the broadcast table.
Jared Idol: “Hello, Pittsburgh!”
Bea Torres: “We continue our journey westward as Millennium is here in the Steel City, and we got a BIG show tonight!”
Jared Idol: “We’re boss-less!”
Bea Torres: “Mostly, anyway. Tonight, it’s Ella Cross running the show.”
Jared Idol: “Chuck Matthews is not here tonight, following the brutal attack by Dane Archer last week. Who knows what could happen here?”
Bea Torres: “Ella has been mostly quiet since coming in as his personal assistant, but tonight, she’s really been thrust into the spotlight. Talk about big shoes to fill.”
Jared Idol: “Chuck doesn’t hire just anyone. Ella Cross has already led a Millennium Expo and has been critical in Millennium’s rapid expansion as of late. One show? She can do it.”
Bea Torres: “We’ll see what happens. Right now though, we’re going backstage!”
We come to see a pre-recorded video, an empty park where the Kawaii Deathmachine, Saki, is swinging alone on a swing set. Slowly she sways back and forth, the chains creaking eerily with every swing.
Saki
Watchin’ haters wonder why Saki got the game locked
Singapore killer, she always walk around half-cocked
Got her hair done, halfsies, swingin’ a ball bat
Saki so violent, y’all askin’ “Why she do that?”
The young woman giggles and rests her head on the chain of the swing, swaying back and forth slowly.
Saki
Libby, Libby three fiddy
Gonna go down knocked out in a dizzy
Saki is game to turn him into Chili
Like Cartmen to Tenorman, it’ll all come too quickly
The Singapore born maniac smiles, the swing slowing to a stop as her two-colored eyes lock on the camera.
Saki
Lockdown Qualifier, sing like a choir burning on a pyre.
Give me anyone and everyone, like a gun I’ll drop one, leave’em outdone
I’m the Singapore Mauler, Brawler, shot collar and high flyer qualifier.
Lockdown Qualifier
Saki VS Sean LibbySean Libby had been on a struggle lately, while Saki, despite her pre-show appearances, had been on a winning streak since her debut in Millennium. As the match was underway, it became clear which way the match was likely to go. Saki’s unorthodox style caught the Irishman off-guard. Despite his best efforts, he simply did not have an answer to the Kawaii Death Machine. Saki found herself bouncing off the ropes, throwing herself at full speed at Sean with little regard for her own well-being. As the match came to the closing moments, Sean had Saki up on her feet. He threw her to the corner and charged after her. She drove an elbow to his face, sending Libby stumbling back. Saki leaped to the top rope and bounced off, catching him with a tornado DDT! She went for the pin. One… two… Sean kicked out! Libby got to his feet. He stepped forward, looking for a superkick… Saki ducked it! She grabbed Sean by the wrist, yanking him in and driving her head to the bridge of his nose! Sean dropped. Farfegnugen connected! Saki scrambled on top of him for the pin. One… two… three! WINNER: Saki BY: Pinfall, 5:20 |
Bea Torres: “Saki wins it!”
Jared Idol: “We’ve been told these first three matches tonight are the Lockdown Qualifiers. Ella Cross has taken it upon herself to set the contenders for the Lockdown Championship.”
Bea Torres: “The winners of these three matches will compete in a triple threat bout next week to determine the contender!”
Saki sits cross-legged in the center of the ring, smiling to herself as the referee helps Sean to his feet. The show cuts backstage.
Darkness fills every corner of the space, steam hissing from somewhere, clouding the view as the camera moves through the space. Orange lights flare to life deep in the gloom, pulsing with what seems to almost be a heartbeat and there's a deep-throated rumble that fills the silence, conjuring thoughts of medieval scaly lizards of the fire-breathing sort. There's a scrape in the otherwise ominous silence, and then a click as the single bare light bulb snaps on, shedding a cone of weak light over the center of the space. A rusted metal grating covers the floor, warped with time and age. Set into the wall is a cage-like door, on which is affixed a hand-lettered sign that read CAUTION: HERE THERE BE DRAGONS. A shadow is visible now beyond the bars of that cage, the figure pacing restlessly.
??
Kate Steele is the Lockdown Champion. Kate. Steele.
The voice is hoarse, hard to place at first as the figure keeps pacing.
??
Kate Steele is the Lockdown Champion. KATE MOTHERFLUFFING STEELE IS THE LOCKDOWN CHAMPION?!
The voice grows louder, almost a wailing lament before that figure in the shadows crashes against the bars with an agonized roar, making her identity known as her face (and that shock of familiar red hair) comes into view.
Kasey Summers
And here we are, another week where I toil endlessly and get nothing to show for it. I was banished to the pre-show while that worthless twatwaffle gets handed glory on a platter? No. No. This cannot be! How could the world, how could our Lord and Savior Chuck Matthews be so WRONG as to book something so horrific! I can't fathom the machinations afoot here, truly! I'm being caged. Throttled in the worst way!
She grips the bars slowly, deliberately and rattles the cage, driving that point home.
Kasey Summers
Yet, I overcame that slight. I didn't pull a Chris Kane and flake out. I showed up in CLEVELAND, OHIO... THAT STINKING CESSPOOL and I WAS INSTRUMENTAL in one of the greatest tag team – NAY, GREATEST PERIOD – matches of young Tiffany Tompkins' career. We were victorious, thanks to my quick thinking and skilled wrestling and Kate Steele, the abomination, the cruel joke, she FAILED MISERABLY in the Main Event. She couldn't get it done against Jenni Yang. Your Lockdown Champion is a fraud. A FAKE AND A LIE AND THE BUTT OF THE WORST JOKE IN THE HISTORY OF EVER! She's an animated flesh robot filled with hot garbage and every time she opens her cakehole, I AM NAUSEATED BY THE STENCH OF HER INADEQUACY!
Again, she rattles the cage, so hard this time that her carefully lettered sign falls to the floor. She doesn't even notice.
Kasey Summers
I prayed to the spirits of the warriors. I went high on the mountain and I fasted, I drank in the sights and the sounds... I communed with the spirts of all the fallen Valkyries of the past and I was enlightened – they told me my struggle was nearly over. They told me I would be rewarded for my perseverance. Lo and behold, this week, a new challenge awaits! A qualifier, a change to cement myself as a contender for the LOCKDOWN CHAMPIONSHIP! When I was on the mountain, I promised the warriors I would honor them. I swore fealty. I swore to bring glory back to their good names that have fallen into dust and been trampled by the THOUSANDS OF UNWORTHY INFIDELS who have come along since. They don't respect tradition. Kath-Lyn Steele has no pride, no conscience... SHE DOES NOT HAVE THE SOUL OF A WARRIOR OR THE BLOOD OF FIVE GENERATIONS OF WRESTLING GREATNESS RUNNING IN HER WEAK VEINS! She has nothing but Manic Panic in her stupid, ugly hair and FILTHY LIES IN HER SOUL!!
She takes a breath, her voice needing a moment to recover from the shouting.
Kasey Summers
Tonight, I will defeat Catriona MacKenzie. I will ink my name in the hallowed halls of the victorious. Kate Steele can watch my moment of triumph and I hope she quakes in fear with the knowledge that I am coming for her. If the universe fails to correct the error that was made when a worthless – YOU ARE WORTHLESS, KATE STEELE. Yes. You. If the universe fails to abort the abomination... I will do it myself. I will destroy everyone in my path. I will claim that contender spot and then... when the rivers run red with her blood and the skeletons are scattered to dust in the wind... I WILL TAKE MY LOCKDOWN CHAMPIONSHIP! I WILL BE VICTORIOUS!
She lets out another ferocious roar as the feed cuts elsewhere, thankfully.
Lockdown Qualifier
Jacob Figgins VS Tiffany TompkinsJacob Figgins, since debuting his new move, looked to continue his resurgence with a win over Tiffany Tompkins. Tiffany herself had been gaining a lot of momentum, though her critics were quick to point out that, up to this point, her victory over Ace Watson had meant little. A win tonight over Jacob Figgins would not only continue her train of momentum, but potentially put her in line for the Lockdown Championship, should she win the triple threat next week. In her way though, was Jacob Figgins, and the madman wasn’t about to let this one get away from him. He took the fight to Tiffany, a complete 180 from what we’d seen out of him in the beginning of his Millennium career. Tiffany wasn’t about to go down without a fight though, and traded blow for blow with Figgins, escaping his submission moves and locking in her own in an attempt to gain leverage over him. Figgins attempted to lock in his Deep Water Horizon, but Tiffany scrambled to the ropes. She pulled herself to her feet as Figgins sat up, slapping the mat, disappointed that he didn’t get the submission. Before he could stand, Tiffany had darted in front of him and sent a vicious Death Kick, straight to the jaw! She hooked the legs. One… two… three! WINNER: Tiffany Tompkins BY: Pinfall, 7:04 |
Jared Idol: “And that means Tiffany will meet Saki next week, along with either Kasey Summers or Catriona MacKenzie.”
Bea Torres: “Tiffany’s been on a tear lately!”
The tron shows an image of Tiffany materialize next to one of Saki, hyping the match for next week. A yet unfilled black silhouette sits beside her, waiting for either Catriona or Kasey to fill the void. Tiffany nods slowly to herself. Her battle was not yet won. The show cuts backstage.
Things come into focus and as they do we can see Christina Rose backstage with her mega man inspired wrestling gear on. She just shakes her head as she quickly stands up and smiles as she can into the likes of the camera. She smiles as wide as she possibly can as she begins to speak.
Christina Rose
Good evening to all of my blossoming roses out there. I am the one and only entertainment queen Christina Rose and I just want to say that my time in millennium hasn’t been the best. I have dropped a couple of matches and perhaps I have been going about trying to do the wrong thing. I have tried to go around the circle in the wrong way but maybe just maybe I should have started off with Cut Man beat up on his bitch ass power absorption his ass so I can eventually get to Dr. Wiley but that wasn’t the case. It’s time to flip the script and go about doing things just a tad different. I feel like I have been going into battle with the wrong weapon and common sense is that I pick up the Scar so I could eventually make it to the end and pick up that much needed win but that hasn’t been the case.
Christina shakes her head with a sigh as she continues to speak.
Christina Rose
I have been doing things in the wrong way and I think it’s time to change that philosophy right now. Sure Jacob Figgins may have gotten the best of me and it really does suck but there’s no reason to complain because if there is anybody in this company that can figure her way out of a mess it truly is me. I may not be winning but with every match I am gaining experience points. I am gaining necessary XP that will make me better for the next match and when that big boss fight comes around I will be able to take them out with ease. Yet now what I have in front of me is Vivi… I get to take on someone who is a voo doo queen.
Christina just laughs as she shakes her head and continues to speak.
Christina Rose
Which is funny considering that I am not going to lose yet again. I am in this company to have fun and to really make my mark on kicking things up and going to the next level. I want to have fun. I want to put my best effort forward and I really want to establish myself as the next big thing in this company. I can’t do that if I continuously drop match after match and not get anywhere. I need to experience more than just that which is why winning becomes so important. Winning becomes everything and I have been building up for this moment where I could make something of myself on this roster!
Christina shakes her head.
Christina Rose
Rome wasn’t built overnight and even the best of all video games have their share of patches. They are always improving trying to find out a way to get better or be better for everyone else to watch. I can be in that position! So bring on the fight. I will answer it one day at a time, one bitch at a time. I am ready for whatever comes my way. See you soon!
Lockdown Qualifier
Catriona MacKenzie VS Kasey SummersKasey Summers was a woman possessed as she roared into the match against Catriona MacKenzie. Since the war with The Heliaia, Catriona had really come into her own as a competitor, getting tougher with each match and picking up key wins: It seemed the fans had picked up on this as well, as they were solidly behind Catriona as she did battle with Kasey. Summers, though, seemed driven by the thought of her rival as the Lockdown Champion, and with every blow from MacKenzie, she bounced back with renewed vigor, knocking Catriona down for the count in an effort to get herself into the triple threat next week. Though Catriona fought hard, it was an SF2 Turbo from Kasey that put Catriona away for the three. WINNER: Kasey Summers BY: Pinfall, 7:55 |
Bea Torres: “That’s it! Kasey picks up the win!”
Jared: “And that means…”
They look to the screen, where Kasey’s face appears next to Saki’s and Tiffany’s, setting the match for next week. Kasey goes to celebrate her win, but is cut off by the sound of “Brains” by Tremonti roaring through the speakers. The crowd erupts, anticipating the entrance of Chuck Matthews.
Bea Torres: “HE’S HEEEEEERE!”
Jared Idol: “I thought he was out this week with- Wait…”
It is not Chuck who appears on the stage, but Ella Cross, flanked by Chuck’s security and carrying herself remarkably like Chuck typically would in such a situation. She smiles at the women in the ring, clipboard in one hand and a microphone in the other.
Ella Cross
I have an announcement.
Kasey looks up at the ramp, anticipating shenanigans.
Ella Cross
With Mr. Matthews out of action after last week’s attacks, it has fallen to me to set up the matches for our next big event: Heroes & Cons.
The crowd cheers.
Ella Cross
Now… as you know, these first three bouts of the evening were part of our Lockdown Qualifiers. The three winners will compete next week to decide who will face Kate Steele in her chosen match. However-
She interrupted by more cheering from the crowd.
Ella Cross
However… with the efforts of Catriona MacKenzie, Sean Libby, and Jacob Figgins here tonight, I have decided to give the three of THEM an opportunity as well. And so, to kick off the show next week, we’re going to have a Last Chance match, with the winner joining Kasey, Saki, and Tiffany and making the match a four-way contest!
She smiles, nodding to Catriona in the ring.
Ella Cross
Good luck.
Kasey eyes Catriona, knowing she may very well have to face her again this time next week. The show goes backstage.
Nora Foley
It’s not personal.
Pause. Beat. The silence in that darkness was palpable, the screen black as Nora’s voice acted as a beacon in the dark.
Nora Foley
It’s never personal.
Slowly, the scene opened up on none other than Nora herself, sitting backwards in a chair, with her hands resting on the comparatively diminutive steel chair, black tape across her mouth as she sat there in full ring regalia, staring at the screen with those burning eyes of hers, her voice not at all comin’ from her in the moment.
Nora Foley
What in life, isn’t personal? A man who runs amok, ruthlessly, and without being checked, hurting my friends, terrorizing my home, and getting paid for it all the while thinks that this isn’t personal. That it’s just business, that what he does could be just business, is a fallacy onto itself. Even if it was his truth, it’s not mine. So yes, this is personal. It’s the kind of personal that makes your blood boil to the point that there’s nothing but steam in your veins and hate in your heart. It’s the kind of personal that forces me to stop sidelining and do something.
Finally, Nora was removing the tape from her mouth with a quick, painful, yank. Her eyes on the camera, and for once? Her voice, came from her mouth.
Nora Foley
It’s the kind of personal that the Irish excell at acting on.
With that, the scene cut out with a hard snap!
Christina Rose stood in the ring, waiting for her opponent to emerge. As Vivi Robichaud came down the ramp, she was met by a gang of men dressed in black, emerging from backstage. They met her halfway down the ramp, armed with police batons and looking strangely similar to Millennium Security: Police vests, dark visors, similar in nearly every way except the familiar “M” logo emblazoned on their gear. Vivi tried to fend them off, to no avail. After a tiny delay, it seemed that Millennium’s REAL security realized that these were not true guards, and they began swarming the ramp, fending off the attackers and ensuring Vivi’s safety. They helped the woman to her feet, checking in on her, as the referee in the ring waved off the match. Vivi shook the pain from her mind, and stormed backstage to find who was responsible.
We find ourselves in the backstage area and it is there where we are able to see a sight of Kate Steele holding up what is the Lockdown Championship. She smiles as she adjusts the belt and holds it close to her chest. She stares at it before she slowly turns her attention to that of the camera.
Kate Steele
First and foremost I just want to say that it was a long journey o get here but I am finally a champion in this company. I worked fucking hard to get to where I am but after all of the blood, all of the sweat, all of the tears I am finally a champion in this company. You have no idea how much I had to pour into just about everything here. I had to really give everything just to be in this situation. I personally didn’t think it was possible but after a long hard fought journey I accomplished everything that I had set out to do. I am your Lockdown Champion and as long as I have this title you can expect this belt to be defended under Submission rules!
Kate smirks as she nods her head in agreement and continues to speak.
Kate Steele
I felt like I was screwed a lot along the way but long behold I am a champion and as long as I have my way this title will not be going anywhere anytime soon. The long hard fought journey to get to this match felt like forever and it will be even longer before I am ready to give it up. I know there are some who may not like me. They may not like my methods nor do they like me as a person and for those people you can flat out go fuck yourselves. Everyone else however I am ready to stand tall. I am ready to fight and you can bet your bottom dollar that I am going to fight like there’s no tomorrow because that’s just who I am!
Kate smirks wider than ever as she continues to speak.
Kate Steele
Now on the last episode did everyone enjoy the match between Jennifer and I? I don’t really care for Jennifer Yang but we brought a spirit of wrestling to this company. We brought out the very best in each other and it was amazing to see across the board. Everyone was into that match and I know it must have been good to see the top two champions in the company going toe to toe against one another. However our story don’t end there because yet again we find ourselves in the main event match. We get to stand in the ring with the likes of Christopher Kane and Ace Watson. Fuck Christopher Kane. I don’t really like him nor did I ever! I hate his stupid attitude and I don’t like what he represents. He has this nonchalant attitude and when we fought the last time I tried to show him respect and yet I didn’t get shit in return. That’s around the same time I got jumped after my match and he was nowhere to be found!
Kate sighs again as she continues to share her heart.
Kate Steele
On top of that you have Ace Watson who has issues with Christopher. It’s a question on how they are going to interact with each other and do we truly care about any of it?! To be honest I don’t really give a fuck. The main thing on my mind this week is watching what’s going to happen as six competitors are going to rise up to see who is worthy enough to fight for my very championship. I say bring everyone you possibly can because it certainly won’t make a difference. As I said before I spent a long fucking time to get to where I am and I am not going to allow myself to just drop the championship as soon as I got it. I am not a transitional champion nor will I find myself losing it any time soon. The only time I will drop it is when I move on to beat the snot out of Jennifer Yang. Only then will I be ready to depart from my Lockdown Championship. As it stands right now I feel like I have a lot to prove. I have a lot to accomplish and I am not ready to move on.
Kate chuckles as she nods her head in agreement.
Kate Steele
So go ahead and bring whoever. Give me a fight and I will make everyone who crosses my path tap the fuck out. It’s all or nothing and I will do what’s needed. See you soon!
With that Kate can’t help but grin as we fade out on this image.
Singles Match
Dane Archer VS Nora Foley It wasn’t often that Nora Foley found herself the smaller person in the contest, but the seven-foot Dane Archer did exactly that. The two tied up in the early going, and Nora surprised Dane with her raw power, at one point looking like she may overpower the Great Dane. Archer was able to come back, forcing Nora into the corner and lighting her up with a hard chop across the chest. Nora shoved him hard, and Dane actually stumbled back a few steps, again looking shocked that he’d nearly been taken off his feet. And so the match continued from there. The two did their best, both utilizing their power in what was a short, but highly intense display of strength. Dane Archer threw Nora to the ropes. Nora came off. Dane caught her hitting a powerslam and hooking the leg. One… two… Nora kicked out. Nora got back to her feet. Dane delivered a crushing kick to her ribs, trying to replicate the damage he had done to the boss just one week ago. Nora caught the leg, shoving it away as she got up. Dane came in, looking for a clothesline. Nora ducked it. Dane stumbled forward, hitting the ropes. He came back… right into a vicious spear from Nora! Faugh A Ballagh connected! She dropped down for the cover. One… two… Nora got it! WINNER: Nora Foley BY: Pinfall, 8:04 |
Nora howled as the fans joined in, Nora pleased with her victory over the mighty Archer. Her celebration was cut short though, as the guards who had attacked Vivi returned, swarming the ring. She looked around at them, raising her fists for a fight. The guards slid into the ring, jumping Nora. Nora bodyslammed one, swinging her fists at the others, trying to fend them off, but there were far too many. Millennium Security raced from the back, quicker on the take this time as they hit the ring fast to fight off the guards. Nora hurled one clear over the top rope, watching him hit the concrete hard. She turned to another guard, but Dane Archer was waiting to deck her right in the jaw! Nora was rocked! Dane threw her to the corner and followed up with a big splash against the turnbuckles. Nora slowly pulled herself away from the corner, dazed by the shot. Dane drive a boot to her gut, roaring as he lifted her in position and dropped her with a ring-quaking Jackknife Powerbomb! Dane sneered, looking down at Nora as Millennium and the other guards brawled on the outside. As chaos continued, the show cut backstage.
The shot slowly fades in from black, and we see D’Angelo Blackwell in his wrestling tights along with his denim jacket on as he does push-ups in his locker room! Dlo does around ten before popping up, twisting his neck around, and taking a sip from his water bottle! He then sits down on the steel chair and begins to address the camera.
D’Angelo Blackwell
Yooo, what’s up y’all…. Look, I know I’ve been quiet these past few weeks, I know I haven’t reached out and spoken to y’all like usual, and I know y’all have been waiting to hear from ya boy! I’ve been on a crazy schedule, wrestling all over the world and I feel that my actions in Millennium have genuinely spoken for me so far.
Dlo pauses for a second, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
D’Angelo Blackwell
I came in against Nessa Wall, a woman I’ve beaten in the past, and I showcased. I went out there, and I showed that I am as good as I say I am, I took control of that match, and I impressed. I was on the verge of winning, but I didn’t. Nessa pulled my tights halfway up my ass and snuck away with a win. I ain’t mad about it, forreal you gotta do whatever it takes to win, I take my hat off to her! But it was a desperation move because I was about to put her down, but ay it’s whatever man. The next week I teamed with her, and we were doing aight until it ended in some DQ bullshit. My point is that since I joined Millennium, I’ve held up my end of the bargain. I have wrestled two great matches, I have proved that I am worth the contract, I have shown how good I am, and I have backed up my talk. It’s been the people around me that have affected me, a referee missing the tights or a DQ because of frustration that you can’t win. Neither of those was my problem.
Blackwell leans forward, closer to the lens of the camera.
D’Angelo Blackwell
I HELD UP MY END. I am still talking, I will win the Millennium Championship, shout out Jennifer Yang! I am still talking because I can back it up. I’m real, G.
Blackwell leans back in his chair, chuckling to himself!
D’Angelo Blackwell
Yooo, anyway! I’m coming up against a man that doesn’t entirely back his shit up. Ima start by saying that I do respect the fighter, Grey Malone. I know that he is a violent man and I know that he hits hard! I expect a fight outta him, and I’ll get it, but that dude has talked a lotta shit and not backed it up. I already said it on twitter, but the first thing that comes to mind is the GWA Battle Royale at GWA: Genesis! He was talking all that shit like—
Dlo raises his fingers in quotation and begins snickering to himself as he quotes Malone
D’Angelo Blackwell
‘’Ima destroy everyone, it’s gonna be carnage, I’m gonna dominate’’ blah blah and in the end, he lost, he didn’t even put up that much of a fight. I already saw the shit he talking bout me, calling me ‘’one single solitary prick’’ basically disregarding me.
Dlo pauses, shaking his head.
D’Angelo Blackwell
If he underestimates me, it ain’t gonna be fun for him, G. Ima slap him and wake his ass up. I won’t be taken lightly…. In the end, Ima do what I do. I’ll go full throttle and do whatever it takes.
Dlo smiles at the camera as the shot fades out.
Ella Cross looks somewhat uncomfortable, sitting in Chuck’s chair behind the desk in the General Manager’s office. Her phone is held up to her ear by her shoulder. She seems frustrated, speaking in an exasperated tone.
Ella Cross
I don’t understand how you do it.
There’s muffled speaking on the other end.
Ella Cross
Yes! It’s been utter chaos since the beginning of the night. Now I have Miss Robichaud and Miss Foley BOTH getting attacked and we’re no closer to finding out who’s responsi-
She pauses as she’s interrupted.
Ella Cross
How do you know that?
A pause.
Ella Cross
I hadn’t thought of that… so what should I do?
Another pause as the other person speaks.
Ella Cross
Are you certain?
She frowns.
Ella Cross
If you insist. In the meantime… how are you feeling?
The voice speaks again. She sighs.
Ella Cross
Well, do as the doctor says. I suppose I can hold things down here until you get back. Don’t take too long though.
Another brief pause, but a small smile comes to Ella’s face.
Ella Cross
I appreciate that. Thank you.
She hangs up the phone as the show goes back to the ring.

D'Angelo Blackwell VS Gray Malone
With no disqualifications, Gray Malone seemed right at home in this environment, and he came ready for war. As soon as the bell rang, Malone made it clear exactly what type of matchup this was going to be, as he slid from the ring and found comfort with his favorite baseball bat. He came back into the ring, taking a swing at D’Angelo, who managed to dodge the shot. Blackwell knew immediately that he wasn’t going to win this one unarmed, and so he too escaped the ring. Rather than dig under the apron, he pointed at a ringside worker, who moved out of the way so D’Angelo could grab his chair. He turned right as Gray followed him out. Gray swung his bat, and D’lo was just quick enough to get his chair up to block the shot. A bang rang out in the crowd as metal hit metal, and a sizeable dent was left in the steel chair. Gray swung again, only for D’lo to duck it, coming around and driving a boot to the back of Gray’s knee. He grabbed the bat from Gray’s hands, wrapping it around Malone’s neck as Blackwell brought him crashing backwards in a Russian legsweep. The two used as many weapons as they could find to try and inflict damage on each other. Gray managed a couple of hard blows with the steel chair, while D’lo was able to get his hands on a kendo stick, when he really began to dish out some damage to the deranged Malone. As the match weathered on, fatigue began to set in for both men. The fans were eating it up, and as Gray had D’lo on the ropes, they called for the former Heritage Champion to rally and take back the match. D’lo did exactly that. Gray slammed him to the mat. He dropped an elbow across the chest, and pulled D’lo back to his feet, calling for his signature move: You Lose. D’lo sprang to life, driving a knee to Gray’s gut and pulling him in. Before Malone could react, D’lo leveled him with the Dark Age! He went for the pin… One. Two… three! WINNER: D’Angelo Blackwell BY: Pinfall, 12:31 |
D’lo raised his arms in victory, smirking at a hard-fought win.
Jared Idol: “He got it! D’Angelo gets a HUGE win here tonight!”
Bea Torres: “He did exactly as he said he’d do. No disqualifications, no shoddy behavior from Nessa Wall… this one was a fight, and D’Angelo came out on top.”
D’Angelo looks at the camera, waving to it. He knew, somewhere, Nessa Wall was watching this match. Their business wasn’t over yet.
The first notes of Ennio Morricone’s “Ecstasy Of Gold” start playing from the loudspeakers as the Arena plunges into darkness. The red carpet is rolled down the ramp and the fans immediately start booing the former Cloud Gate Champion Grace van Beek. But as the music keeps playing, no one comes out on the stage until, eventually, the song dies off, leaving the incessant jeers as the only noise heard in the PPG Paint Arena in Pittsburgh.
Suddenly the Troon comes to light, taking us inside the suite of the classy Fairmont Pittsburgh hotel, where Grace van Beek is sitting on a baroque style armchair, her pale legs highlighted by the short black dress crossed. Tipping with her long crimson nails on the wood, she smiles at the camera.
Grace van Beek
It appears that you will have to settle with this as far as my scheduled appearance go.
The crowd don’t hide their disappointment. For once they were curious to hear an explanation from the person behind the attack against Mr Matthews one week ago.
Grace van Beek
I would hope you did not really believe that I would have shown up tonight. I said it clearly after Battle Cry, I will no longer recognize Mr Matthews authority. Or that of any of his subordinates, for what is worth. Having mister Riekert and mister Archer to assault him during his match last week was not only a way to deliver said message, but at the same time a way to prove, like there was any need for it, that this company's security is ridiculous. They cannot even protect the man who's filling their pockets, how am I supposed to feel safe surrounded by these amateurs?
The camera zooms in on a close up of her face, her blue eyes not showing any kind of emotion.

Last week I proved once again to all you doubters why a person of my social status cannot take the risk to walk into a match in this company without a personal security team. And I had a taste of sweet revenge on the man who dared taking my title away from me and put it on his new flavor of the week, miss Kane.
Among all the pointless arguments she indeed raised a good point. There is only one way to settle this.
She turns her head and nods at one of her guards, who quickly pours her a glass of wine. Grace holds it in front of herself, staring tight through the camera.

Next week, you and me Kane.
The camera closes up of the former Cloud Gate Champion toasting with the new found smug on her face. The show goes to commercial.
Tag Team Match
Jennifer Yang (c) & Kate Steele (c) VS Ace Watson & Christopher Kane The crowd made it well known who they wanted to win this contest, and it was unanimously behind the Millennium Champion herself. Jennifer Yang had complete control of the crowd. Kate Steele and Chris Kane started the contest off. To everybody’s surprise, Kane and Watson maintained a working, though very tense, partnership through the contest. Kane slapped Ace’s hand, perhaps harder than he normally might, to tag the Englishman in. Ace took the fight to Kate, taking her down with a suplex before rolling over for a pin. One… Kate kicked out. Ace shook his head, pulling her to her feet. Kate drove an elbow to his temple, seizing his arm and taking him back to the mat with an armbar. She wrenched on the hold. Kane dove into the ring, breaking it up, Kate rolled over, tagging in Jennifer. Jenni vaulted over the ropes, taking Ace down with a clothesline, and immediately going after Kane. She drove a forearm to his skull, knocking him from the apron and heading back to Ace. Ace was ready, and with a sharp kick to the midsection, he took her down with a neckbreaker and the match had changed momentum once again. As fatigue set in over the course of the match, Jennifer Yang seemed to be the one just a little bit more energized than her opponents, her stamina keeping her going as the match wore on. She had Chris Kane on the ropes. She grabbed him by the arm, preparing for her signature #BEHUMBLE. The crowd erupted in boos. Down the ramp, Jason Hawk was storming towards the ring, his newly acquired cat-o’-nine-tails in hand. He slid into the ring. The referee yelled for him to leave, but Hawk brought his whip down across the referee’s spine. WINNER: No Contest BY: Double Disqualification, 18:25 |
Jennifer Yang abandoned her move, going after Hawk to save the poor ref. Hawk cracked his whip, causing Jenni to pause. She darted in towards the legs, only to get a sharp crack of the whip across her back. Kate Steele dove into the ring to stop him, coming at him… but there was Kasey Summers! Kasey slid into the ring, tackling Kate from the side. The two rolled out of the ring, brawling across the arena. Ace and Chris looked over the damage. Ace’s fist cocked back and he swing at Chris, taking advantage of the moment. Chris scouted it, ducking the shot, and instantly raining punches down on Watson. The two also brawled their way under the bottom rope, duking it out across the outside. In the ring, Jenni and Jason went head-to-head, Jason brandishing his weapon. From the back, Gray Malone charged in. Jennifer looked from one man to the other, and finding herself cornered, started hammering away at both men. Gray fended off Jennifer, and delivered a few stiff shots to Hawk for good measure. Jason did his best to worm away, trying to put distance between himself and the others so his whip would be effective once again.
Jared Idol: “This is pure anarchy!”
Millennium Security charges from the back to try and regain control, but they’re met on the ramp by the same guards who had plagued the show since the beginning of the night. Ella Cross is seen at the top of the stage, observing in horror as the roster, the guards, and her own champions continue to fight.
Bea Torres: “Security is here to break it up, but they’re being held back! What is happening?”
Jared Idol: “And Ella Cross is beside herself!”
Ella covers her mouth with her hand, unsure what to do as the situation escalates. The show fades to complete mayhem: Gray, Hawk, and Jenni fighting in the ring, Ace and Chris battering each other near the announce table, and Kasey and Kate clawing each other near the ramp. Two armies of security beat each other with police batons, Millennium Security trying everything they can to control the situation. The show goes to black.
