Millennium LXXVII
Live from the River Center Arena in Baton Rouge, LA
Wednesday, February 24th, 2021
“Loner Boogie” by Boy Azooga plays over the PA system, instantly creating a buzz amongst those present inside the River Center Arena, and once the song's intro finishes, Lowri Moss walks out through the curtains, which only causes the cheers to increase in volume. Dressed casually, with the Cloud Gate Championship over one shoulder, Lowri stands on the stage for a moment, smiling broadly as she surveys the crowd, savouring the reception. She makes her way along the ramp, towards the ring, although amidst the current circumstances, there is no slapping of hands with any of the fans on either side of the aisle, as would normally have been the case. After climbing the steps and entering the ring, Lowri heads for one of the corners, climbs to the second rope and gestures to the fans watching, both in the venue and at home, by making the ILY sign with her right hand. Lowri then goes to collect a microphone, and as her music fades out, she glances around at the fans that are in attendance, basking in their cheers. She starts by giving her usual greeting.
Lowri Moss:
What’s occurring, Baton Rouge?
The customary cheap pop follows, although again it is not as loud a pop as it typically would be, due to the limited number of people that there are inside the building.
Lowri Moss:
I’m going to try to keep this relatively short, as I’m sure you’re all eager to see all of the matches that are in store for you here tonight, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to open tonight's show, and I have to say, it feels really good to be standing here right now - it feels good to be standing here in front of all of you and getting to kick off the show, the first Millennium show outside of Chicago in eleven months, as well as the first Millennium after Domino Effect, the second night of which was of course quite rewarding for yours truly.
With something of a smirk on her face, Lowri casts an eye towards her newly won title, resting on her shoulder.
Lowri Moss:
You know, me being stood here in this ring, with this title over my shoulder, is something that… a month and a half ago, or possibly even more recently than that, I wouldn’t have thought there was much chance of happening. But that was before Elsa McCarthy went and did everything she could to try to convince me to sign with Millennium, really pulling out all of the stops-- just as Vincent Moretti did, to try to get me to sign with Riot-- then one signed contract and one main event of a pay-per-view later, and well, here I am, not only part of the Millennium roster, but also--
Lowri now removes her title from her shoulder.
Lowri Moss:
The new Cloud Gate Champion.
She then raises the belt in the air, the fans cheering again as she holds it up for a few seconds, before putting it back on her shoulder.
Lowri Moss:
I would like, however, to briefly pay tribute to the former champion; the woman who held this title for over seven months-- Melissa Reeves.
The mention of her predecessor elicits a cheer from the crowd.
Lowri Moss:
The day after our match at Domino Effect, Melissa tweeted that she may have lost, but that her pride was intact-- and rightfully so. She should be very proud of everything that she has accomplished in this promotion; she was a great MWE World Champion-- arguably the greatest-- and perhaps an even greater Cloud Gate Champion. She has my respect, I wish her well in her quest to regain the world title, and I look forward to the two of us meeting again inside this ring someday, whenever that may be.
That statement is followed by more cheers and applause from the fans.
Lowri Moss:
Having won the Cloud Gate title, the challenge for me now is to keep hold of it. And as I know from experience, winning a title is one thing, but retaining it is quite another. I mean, I’ve had more than one title reign that didn’t make it past the first defence.
As unsatisfactory as those abrupt endings were at the time for Lowri, she can smile [wryly] about them now.
Lowri Moss:
On the other hand, I’ve also had more than one title reign that broke all previous records. I’m not going to stand here though and declare that I’m aiming to rewrite the record books as far as this particular title is concerned.
She shakes her head.
Lowri Moss:
Right now, my aim is simply to be a champion that not just this brand, but the entire promotion, and all of you fans watching, can be proud of. The former champions, like Melissa, like Tiff Rollins, they’ve set the standard for this title, and while for some that would be a hard act to follow, I know what I’m capable of inside this ring and I know that I’m up to the task.
Now she nods her head confidently.
Lowri Moss:
I’m sure there are plenty of people on the roster who would love to have an opportunity to challenge me for this--
She taps the faceplate of her title.
Lowri Moss:
And that’s perfectly fine with me. I want to be a fighting champion, and I’m ready to defend my title against all comers. But to any potential challengers watching who think that they know what it’s going to take to prise it away from me--
She shakes her again.
Lowri Moss:
Think again. I was able to win the Cloud Gate title on my very first night as an official part of the roster, and now that I have it… I intend to keep hold of it for some time to come.
As the crowd cheer loudly for Lowri once more, “Loner Boogie” by Boy Azooga begins to play again, and she goes to hand back her microphone, before then stepping through the ropes and heading backstage.
Singles Match
Romeo Chavez Jr. VS Morag BeanAll eyes were on Romeo Chavez Jr in his Millennium debut. The 20 years old mexican tried to start the match off quickly but Morag blasted him with a bicycle kick that knocked Chavez loopy. Bean took off toward the ropes, ducked under the leapfrog and continued to run to the opposite side, taking Romeo down with a slingblade. She then dragged him to the ropes and leaned his neck on the bottom one, placing her knee on his spine and pushing down. The referee asked her to let him go and immediately started to count to five. When Morag let go, the official had a few words with her, and this gave the Cannibal Queen’s bodyguard, the towering indian Meera Makera, to strike with a heavy punch to the face. El Serpiente pulled himself up but he was obviously rocked by the hard blow and stumbled right into a kick to the stomach by Morag who then planted him on his head with a fisherman ddt. Bean hooked the leg for a deep cover, but Romeo kicked out in time. Morag tried real hard to close the match in the first minutes, and actually got close to succeeding with her A75 senton bomb, but Chavez wasn’t going out so easily. Determined to live up, and surpass, his family’s legacy, the former El Halcon slowly began laying the groundwork for his comeback with a throat strike that caught Morag off guard. As she held her neck and tried to regain her breath, he fed her several knee strikes and punches, showing off his MMA background. With the opponent down, he fished in his repertoire for some submission moves to wear her down. Nothing too fancy or overly complicated, but perfectly applied and quite effective. The cobra clutch especially looked like it could put Morag away, but the Scot used her remaining energy to drag herself to the ropes, forcing the break. Romeo kept the submission locked in to exploit the five count fully, which earned him a warning from the meticulous referee and gave Morag time to get up and recover. The two locked up in the middle of the ring, Bean quickly went for a knee in the stomach and then bit Romeo’s face! This time the referee’s looked more convincing in his threat to disqualify the Scot, not that she seemed to care. To attest that, she raked El Serpiente’s eyes and dropped him with a neckbreaker, still not enough to win this match. By the end of the match Romeo seemed to be in full control. Having bended the opponent’s resistance with his impressive striking game, the Mexican now tried to submit her with the Mordedura De Serpiente (Anaconda Vise) but had to let go when Morag was able to hook inside his mouth with her free hand. An unorthodox way to escape the dangerous submission but, then again, there was little about Morag that could be defined ordinary. She fired her last shots, that Shetland Boneless (dropkick to the knee followed by a shining wizard) looked a lot like an Hail Mary, but the Gods Of Wrestling weren’t listening to her prayers tonight and she got another two count. Chavez was back again on the attack, flooring Morag with a discus clothesline. He then grabbed both her hands and kneed her into oblivion with his Avada Kedavra, the devastating Kamigoye knee to the face that gave him his first win in the company. WINNER: Romeo Chavez Jr. BY: Pinfall (Avada Kedavra), 8:52 |
We cut backstage where former All-American wrestling champ Jimmy Scrivens is seen preparing for his match tonight. He looks focused, but still has a grin on his face.
Jimmy Scrivens:
Excited to see me? Of course you are, why wouldn’t you be. Chalk up another win for the Nittany Lion last week. Look, it was a good scrap. Price is no joke. He’s got the wrestling pedigree to find success in this business. But let’s be real. He accepted my challenge for the match at Domino Effect so that he could get front-row tickets to the Jimmy Scrivens experience. He knew he didn’t stand a chance, but he wanted to see just how good I am. Well I’m happy to say that he, along with all of you, were able to be a part of that experience. Didn’t matter that he was the bigger man, I knew exactly what I had to do and I went out there and did it. I’m a goddamn national champion, Price can’t hold a candle to what I can do in there.
He grins at the camera and strikes a quick pose before turning back towards it.
Jimmy Scrivens:
Lucky for you all, you get to watch me again tonight. You get to see me step into the ring, a rematch against my very first opponent, Jada Hashford. This is her chance to get some revenge on me for our first match. You know, the match I beat her in. Don’t give me any shit about anyone interrupting that match. Whatever problems arose there, were on her. I was simply there to wrestle and that’s exactly what I did. And it was my hand raised at the end of the night. And that’s exactly what’s going to happen again tonight Jada.
The smile on his face vanishes as he smacks his chest a couple of times and stares into the camera
Jimmy Scrivens:
I’m an All-American. I’m a national champion. I could be a damn gold medal winning wrestler. It doesn’t matter what you do in that ring, it just won’t be enough. Nothing you do will be good enough to beat me. And that’s not a shot at you, far from it. That’s just how good I am. Nobody in this company, not even on their very best day, could outwrestle me. That’s just a fact, proven by my years of victories, my instant success here, whatever you want to look at it’s just the truth. So tonight it’s you Jada, next week it could be anyone, it doesn’t matter to me. I’ll go through them just like I go through you, and I won’t be stopping until one day, I’m the one holding the MWE World Championship. Stay tuned, because that’s going to come sooner than anyone thinks.
With that, Jimmy pushes past the camera and starts making his way towards his match for the night.
We open backstage, a dark and eerily silent part of the backstage area where few staff and superstars can be found. “The Archangel” Jessica Lasiewicz, the co-holder of the MWE World Tag Team Championship and GCW Global Tag Team Championship, anticipated this; for this is where she expects to find her half-sister, the newest member of the Millennium roster, “The Woman Scorned” Kimberly Williams. The tag champion knows that she is getting closer to the spot where she can find Kim. She knows this because the deeper she goes, the farther she travels through the bowels of the arena, the fewer people she runs across. Lasiewicz knows the frame of mind that The Woman Scorned is in is a dangerous one and that right now Williams would want solace, she would want to be alone and away from all interlopers. In fact, the only intruders Kimberly would allow would be family. At least that’s what Jessica is betting on as she finally spots The Woman Scorned seated on the floor in a dark corner.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Kim?
The Polish warrior pauses to wait for an answer. After several moments of quiet and no response Jessica tries again.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Kim? Are you ok?
Kimberly Williams:
What do you think?
Lasiewicz sighs as she approaches Kimberly. The Woman Scorned can hear her coming and she stands up and turns to face her half-sister. The look on Kimberly’s face is downright scary, it even gives Jessica pause to consider whether this was a smart move. Lasiewicz reaches out with her right hand and places it on Kimberly’s shoulder.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
You need to quit blaming yourself for what happened to our mother.
Kimberly Williams:
I appreciate what you’re trying to do, Jess. You’re trying to make me feel better, you’re concerned about me, you’re worried about me, and I do appreciate that. You don’t know how much that means to me. But I do blame myself for what happened to our mother, at least in part. Because had I stood up to Marie then none of this would have happened. Had I stood up to Marie then our mom could have retired quietly the way she wanted to. Instead our sister, Marie, gave her yet another concussion and forced her into retirement...or worse...and yes, I blame myself because I didn’t act, because I was too worried about pissing off Marie.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Marie made her choice and she has to live with the consequences. There’s no way of knowing if you could have had any impact at all whatsoever on Marie’s actions. You just need to remember that and try to calm down, because I look at you right now, I look into your eyes and honestly, Kim…
The Archangel sighs deeply.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
...I am worried.
Kimberly Williams:
Worried about me?
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Worried about you, yes. But I’m also worried about what you may do. I see that look in your eyes, I know that look in your eyes. I’ve had that look in my eyes when I broke the legs of my opponents, not out of a desire to win but out of a malicious intent to maim. I’m worried about what you may do.
The Woman Scorned removes Jessica’s hand from her shoulder.
Kimberly Williams:
“Thanks for your concern, Jess. But I’ll be fine.”
Jessica Lasiewicz
“Are you sure?”
Kimberly Williams
Yes. Look, I know it looks bad...I’m back here, by myself, moping. Only I’m not moping. I’m just getting focused. Because you’re right, in the frame of mind I am in I can be very deadly right now, I can be downright uncontrollable. I could fucking kill Kate Steele tonight if I wanted to. But first degree murder on my first night as a Millennium star just wouldn’t look good now would it? So I’m back here by myself to get focused. I told you before how I could flip a switch to turn off my emotions? That’s what I’m trying to do. I’m trying to turn off the emotions. That’s the safest thing for me and everyone involved right now.
The Archangel nods her head, understanding exactly where her half-sister is coming from. Jessica then embraces Kimberly in a tight hug.
Jessica Lasiewicz:
Fair enough. But remember if you need anything just let me know. We’re family and family sticks together.
Kimberly Williams:
Thanks, Jess. I appreciate it.
With that, Jessica turns and walks away. Kimberly then sits back down and resumes her meditation in preparation for her match tonight.
Singles Match
Jimmy Scrivens VS Jada HashfordAfter his big, yet somehow controversial win at Domino Effect, Jimmy Scrivens started the new cycle against the Backwoods Braggart Jada Hashford. It started with a collar and elbow tie up, the two competitors struggled with each other for some time until Jimmy took Jada down to the mat with a hip toss and then quickly transitioned into an arm bar. Hashford clearly didn’t possess the technical superiority in this fight so she kicked her legs out and grabbed the bottom rope. That was the leitmotif of this match in the early going, Scrivens trying to get those submissions locked in at any given chance, Jada staying on the defensive and trying to avoid getting put in those painful holds. Until she decided she had enough of this and rather than trying to escape or reach the ropes to get out of the triangle choke, Jada pushed herself back to her feet with Jimmy’s legs still wrapped around her neck. The submission already took an awful lot out of her and after this major effort, she barely had the strength to stumble a couple of steps toward the corner and launch herself toward it. The back of Scrivens’ head bounced against the top turnbuckle and both competitors were down. Jada looked gassed already, Jimmy’s game plan had worked to perfection in the first minutes of the contest and it gave him a huge advantage that allowed him to control the match. But Jada wasn’t one to go down without a fight, and she still had a few strings to her bow. One of them was the pump kick she hit Scrivens in the face with, and that sent the 22 years old against the ropes. As he bounced back, Jada leveled him with a strong lariat and made the first cover attempt of the match, getting a count of two for her effort. The momentum was suddenly on her side for the first time, and she kept it going with some old school ground and pound. Scrivens tried to protect himself but the barrage of shots was too fast and heavy and he was left flat on his back at the end of it. Jada took a short run at the ropes and jumped with a knee drop right to head, making another cover and obtaining another count of two. A win tonight would put Jada back on the right track after another failed attempt at the Chicago Way championship. She sent Jimmy in the corner and squashed him with a stinger splash, proceeding to choke him with her knee as she fell into a seated position. Upon releasing the choke, Jada took Scriven’s head under her arm and brought him out of the corner with a running bulldog. Hashford went for a pin but Jimmy rolled onto his stomach, then quickly up to all fours, and finally up to his feet. He wanted to tie up again, taking the fight on a level that would favor him, but Jada blasted him with a running knee lift that knocked the spit out of his mouth. The Mississippi Queen covered but only obtained another near fall. And that was when frustration kicked in for Jada as she started to wonder what she would need to do to keep the young man down. She blocked him in the corner once again and proceeded to deliver a flurry of chops, before lifting him over the top rope ready to nail him with the Super Shut Out (top rope brainbuster). Jimmy fought for dear life and successfully blocked the attempt with punches and headbutts that rocked her enough for him to lift her and drop her on the canvas with a top rope gourdbuster. He waited for her to get up to her feet before jumping down and violently blasting her skull with a double axe handle. Next came his trademark triple german suplex, the momentum of the match now completely changed and saw Scrivens throwing the opponent around with incredible ease with textbook suplex variations. The match was channeled on the right tracks for the amateur wrestler who, after a display of his technical ability, ended the contest with the Lion’s Roar (fireman’s carry emerald flowsion), obtaining another win. WINNER: Jimmy Scrivens BY: Pinfall (Lion’s Roar), 9:39 |
The loud clicking of heels is the first thing we hear as we arrive backstage watching Karen Eldon in a blue dress, as she rounds the corner looking none-to-pleased. Following behind her is Clyde Eldon Jr along for the ride and lastly her daughter Erika. The family that will later on face two of the very best wrestlers in all of MWE in the main event.
Karen Eldon:
I need to speak with Grace! Where is she!?
Storming through the halls upset, living up to the name and the haircut. Rounding the corner she finds herself face to face with an unfortunate member of catering who when seeing her seems to debate abandoning his post to get away. But is too late as Karen corners him.
Karen Eldon:
Do you know where Grace is? I need to speak with her right now.
Shaking his head no, the catering staff not exactly on a day to day basis with Grace and management.
Karen Eldon:
Well I need to speak with her, and she is your boss right? I need to speak with your manager. Now.
Folding her arms across her chest as Clyde takes a step forward, never one to miss a chance at a meal.
Clyde Eldon Jr:
And can I get nachos with extra cheese…
Debating on what task to do first the catering worker starts to make the nachos as Karen turns back to her children to vent.
Karen Eldon:
Listen I know that us beating the Triumvirate is a big deal. They are two of the top champions but right now we should be getting our Tag Team titles rematch. The fact I am walking around here without my championship annoys me, the fact that I am walking around here without gold because Jessica and Summer decided to use a weapon as they could never beat me straight up. That annoys me. The fact that Grace won’t answer my calls, texts, emails, and letters annoys me! But most of all what annoys me is the fact that you think that is extra cheese!
Turning at the last moment to angrily glare at the poor worker who was caked on about as much nacho cheese as he can without over flowing. Putting on a bit extra as Clyde eagerly takes it from him.
Clyde Eldon Jr:
Don’t worry mom, we’ll get our shot. Honestly I am more looking forward to beating up that old man Iser tonight.
As the two walk off Karen is still in pursuit of Grace, who likely has her number blocked at this point.
Karen Eldon:
Well you know the tag belts are going to be ours as soon as Grace gives us what we deserve. But you know in the meantime beating Seth Iser and Megan Monroe? The two top singles champions in the company? That sounds pretty nice. If we beat them? Maybe I’ll be next in line for Seth and you can take on Megan…
Karen says this, Clyde looks up a tad bit confused considering he fancies himself the top member of the team.
Karen Eldon:
GRACE WHERE ARE YOU! ELSA!
Screaming out as the family continues to head down the hall, not stopping until they get what they want.
The show cuts to the dressing room of The MWE Lockdown Champion, The American Monster, Jacob Hammerstein. Hammerstein's back is turned to the camera and his head is bowed.
Hammerstein:
Duke Andrews is a fighter...a great fighter. He's tougher than hell and meaner than the devil. He was a worthy Lockdown Champion and to be able to take the title from him was an honor.
Hammerstein sighs and shakes his head.
Hammerstein:
But he's still the same guy that, along with CCJ and Envy, stabbed me in the back and jumped me time after time. Everybody was shocked when Sandstorm Inc. formed and you and Al were left out in the cold. But, I told you that CCJ would turn on you as well. He can't help it. It's in his DNA. Lesson learned, I guess.
Hammerstein turns around, raises his head, and looks into the camera.
Hammerstein:
So here we are again, Duke. No titles on the line, just me and you. You said you weren't cleared to compete. Whether that's true or not doesn't make a damn to me, I'm not gonna let up on you one little bit, because I know you'd do the same thing to me. Call it an assbackwards sign of respect.
The Lockdown Champion stands up, grabs his dogcollar and chain, and lays it across his shoulders. He takes the Lockdown Title from the leather bag he carries it in.
Hammerstein:
There's another situation forming, a storm cloud on the horizon, if you will. Dusty Douglas, The Murder Train, has emerged as the top contender to this title.
The American Monster holds the Lockdown Title up towards the camera.
Hammerstein:
Dusty, we're not strangers to each other, so if your dumbass song lyric tweets and such are an attempt to get into my head, you get an F.
One more thing,Big Boy. If you have plans on getting involved in my match tonight, don't worry about tweeting pop song lyrics, because I'll give you a taste of some heavy metal.
The Lockdown Champion holds up his right fist, that is wrapped with the chain as the feed cuts back to ringside.
“The following advertisement paid for by...well...we’re not sure who funded this bullshit…”
Fireworks can be seen going off and a loud booming male voice is heard…
Narrator:
ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION!
The fireworks continue for a few more moments until “The Woman Scorned” Kimberly Williams steps into view from stage right. The eccentric ginger is dressed in torn denim jeans, flip flops, and a black t-shirt which reads “All Hail The Lizard King” on the front in hot pink lettering. She carries a championship belt with her; the Lizard Championship belt. The center plate is a gold lizard head. There are four side plates, two on either strap; one is the image of her boyfriend Tommy Wasley, the other is of a penguin, a third is of a Dalek, and the fourth is of her good friend Abigail Lindsey.
Kimberly Williams:
Good evening everyone and a big hello to the Millennium roster! I am YOUR Lizard Champion, YOUR Woman Scorned, and YOUR newest Millennium roster member and this is a message to you!
The words “Will Maim For Food” briefly appear on the screen.
Kimberly Williams:
That’s right! I will maim for food! Do you have a problem with someone on the Millennium roster? Just come to me with a chili cheeseburger and I will cripple and/or maim them! Delivery of chili cheeseburger is expected in advance. If you prefer something more permanent...y’know, sleep with the fishes, only not as wet or Sonny Corleone on the causeway….I expect TWO chili cheeseburgers and a feather boa. I mean, if I’m gonna risk my freedom for you it’s gonna have to be extra. And to the Riot superstars who no longer have me to grace their wonderful presence, don’t worry because I got ya covered! I am a true capitalist and I will help you as well. But due to the fact that I’d have to find a way to sneak past Morreti’s crack Riot security team I’m gonna require extra. So for anything that needs to be taken care of on Riot I require THREE chili cheeseburgers for a crippling or maiming and FOUR chili chili cheeseburgers and TWO feather boas to make someone on Riot disappear. So do ya need help? Come to me, we’ll talk business.
Kimberly winks.
Kimberly Williams:
Now as you can see, The Lizard King who rules in his reptilian benevolence over MWE, has decreed that I be moved to the Millennium roster. What that means for you wonderful fans, my people who continue to love and support me, you get the same chaos and insanity that you have grown to love from The Wild Card. What that means for the wrestlers of Millennium is that your days of normalcy are quickly coming to an end.
Kimberly raises her right hand, revealing that she is sporting the Freddy Kreuger knife glove. The Dalek then rolls in from stage right next to Kimberly.
Kimberly Williams:
The wonderful world of The Kimmyland has come to Millennium! And its first victim is Kate Steele.
The Woman Scorned licks one of the blades on the knife glove.
Kimberly Williams:
See you out there, Kate! And hey, if you survive this encounter with me, I may give you a discount with my new business venture.
Kimberly walks off with the Dalek following closely behind.
Singles Match
Kimberly Williams VS Kate SteeleThe Woman Scorned has arrived on the green brand, receiving a warm welcome by her new fans as she walked out on the ramp and greeted them by waving her hand, the one she was wearing Betty White on. The referee went to check on Kimberly, finding all sorts of foreign objects hidden in her ring gear. Williams shrugged her shoulders as he finished his inspection and questioned what the hell was with those weapons. He was about to ring the bell when Kate suddenly charged, not at all amused with the time that was just wasted. The Wildcard took her down with a drop toe hold that sent her face first into the middle turnbuckle. Kim quickly pulled her into a bridging german suplex, but the former Lockdown champion kicked out before the two. Kimberly turned and was surprised when Kate darted at her and hit her with a satellite DDT. Williams’ head was driven hard into the canvas but instead of making the cover, Kate climbed to the top rope and leaped and went for an early Silence Is Golden (top rope blockbuster), Steele made the cover attempt, but Williams was too close to the ropes and easily interrupted the count. The match continued with the two competitors continuing to try to end this quickly, pulling out the big guns right away. Kate’s spinning heel kick caught Kimberly right on the side of the head and caused her to stumble back into the ropes. As she bounced back, Steele picked her up on her shoulders and tried to drop her down with the Go Home Driver, but Williams slipped out of her grasp and jumped on her back with both knees planted on her back, dragging her down with a backstabber. Kate bounced off on impact and rolled on the canvas, holding her lower back in pain. Williams punished her with a punt kick to the head before she made the cover, but that only gave her a two count. Steele slowly stood up, visibly rocked by that vicious kick to the head. Kimberly pushed her into the turnbuckle and charged her with a jumping corner clothesline, slipping through the ropes. She quickly climbed to the top of the turnbuckle, ready to finish this with the Chaos Theory. She jumped, landing on top of the former Lockdown champion the corkscrew senton, but she miraculously kicked out. Williams walked into the opposite corner and seemed to be saying something at the Dalek’s replica. “EXTERMINATE!” It answered and The Woman Scorned nodded at the little toy robot. She turned around, right as Kate was getting up to her feet and charged at full speed, hitting her with the Shadowblade (running knee) to obtain her first win on the green brand. WINNER: Kimberly Williams BY: Pinfall (Shadowblade), 7:30 |
We cut backstage to find Sad Max slouched on a sofa with a microphone in hand. His wild blond hair is sticking in all directions from the red rag tied around his head. The MWE newcomer stares into the camera with an almost vacation expression.
Max:
Hello, Millennium. I know I haven't been here long but I don't really like it. Nah wait, I like your Twitter intern, your graphics are pretty sweet but other than that, it's too... synthetic. Just like your foul tasting beverage sponsor. Everything feels too slick, too manufactured. I guess that's what you get from something orchestrated by The Smartest Man™ and Miss Blood Diamond. They produce the show based on some market research, profit margins, whatever. We're not wrestlers, we're commodities. We're something to be packaged and sold by our masters. Trust me, people like THEM have nothing but contempt for people like US.
He flickers his index finger back and forth towards the camera and himself.
Max:
But here's the funny part, they can see what we're doing to the ROTTEN apple and they still want us. Well... I don't know if they do NOW - maybe Domino Effect changed their minds - but we've got contracts. It's too late. I'm not leaving without full redundancy, OTK got some lawyer connections - we'll take it to the courts if we have to. The board thought they could box anarchy, put the revolution on a t-shirt like Che. That's playing with fire but they will do anything for money. Morality is PR, they pick and choose values as a business decision. Well slumping Constantine Jr was the entrée, second night in Chicago and we shut down the whole feed. Was that in your quarterly projections?
There is a glimmer of a smile on his face - for a moment.
Max:
We're not your average faction. We don't care about wins and losses, we're not interested in fighting other workers. I mean, I'll black some eyes up for the thrill of it but we came to MWE to spread our message. Now I don't expect West Long or Luna to listen to it but someone will. Every time we're on screen - whether we wrestle or not - we have someone's attention. That is all it takes. If the board want to package us for the masses then it only accelerates their decline. Gradually the rot sets in, the foundations crumble and everything begins to collapse. Then - and only then - can we progress.
He blinks into the camera with the same blank expression and we're interrupted by static.
Best Shot by Mountains vs Machines starts playing throughout the arena, and Joey Leclair steps through the curtains sporting his ring gear as he instantly faces the hard camera and mouths the words “Tonight is the start of the future, I’ll show them that I’m ready to run!” Joey then turns his focus to the ring, and makes his way down the ramp circling it to grab a microphone from the announcers area before climbing the ring steps closest to the announcers desks and entering the ring under the top rope making his way to the center of the ring facing the hard camera.
Joey Leclair:
For two months I sat at home nursing an injury, and during those two months like I said at Domino Effect? I had a change of heart, remembered who the fuck I am, but its much more than that. I am only getting older and can’t afford to slack off or give Millennium, my coworkers, or the fans anything less than the best I have to offer, and so I set my eyes… my focus to the mountain top, but you see? I can’t just skip the line because I am not self entitled nor am I selfish, and so what do I do? I prove my worth, my skills to the best Millennium has to offer, and like I promised at Domino Effect? Tonight I call this person out, and who is this person you may ask? She is in my eyes the face of the company, and a woman who by all rights should still be the World Champion, but by dirty tactics, and number games it is not the case.
Joey takes a nervous deep breath before slapping his face with his left hand, and smirking with confidence
Joey Leclair:
That’s right I am referring to no one other than Melisssa Reeves! So Mel if you would please grace me with your presence, because I am calling you out!
Joey turns towards the stage area with anticipation awaiting a response. For a few moments, nothing happens. Indeed, it seems Reeves won't show, but then "No End in Sight" by Killswitch Engage plays and all eyes return to the stage. Out walks Melissa, wearing jeans and a Lowri Moss t-shirt. She is, of course, without the Cloud Gate Title having lost it to Ms. Moss. For a few moments Melissa paces, before raising it to speak.
Melissa Reeves:
So let me get this right...
She stops pacing, for the moment.
Melissa Reeves:
You're calling me out because you consider me the rightful face of this company?
There's a little chuckle from her.
Melisa Reeves:
I mean, you're not wrong; nobody, and I MEAN nobody, has been here for as long as I have with the level of success I've had. But it's like you said, Joey, I should be the MWE Champion...and unless I missed a memo, you aren't Seth Iser. Which means you don't have that title in your possession...and that begs the question, what exactly is my motivation to change course and take you on instead of chasing the champ?
She raises a finger, before Joey can reply.
Melissa Reeves:
Don't get me wrong, I value a good contest as much as the next chick, but I have my goals to chase. So come on, let me hear it, what does fighting you offer me?
Joey taps his right foot on the ground rapidly while twirling the microphone between the fingers of his right hand pondering the question Melissa just asked him before placing the microphone to his lips.
Joey Leclair:
I get the fact that you see no value in facing me, but dear, Mel don’t get ahead of yourself, because yes you have all these impressive accomplishments, but that was the past dear, and you just lost the Cloud Gate Championship at Domino Effect so why should you jump straight into the World Championship picture? I know that anyone can lose on any given night, and nor am I trying to anger you, but Mel you asked what I can offer you
Joey pauses and circles Melissa sizing her up.
Joey Leclair:
You already answered that question as well when you said competition, and before you scoff and dismiss my challenge, and walk away? Let me say this. At the next big event if you, and I go out there and put on the match of our lives? Then Seth Iser has no choice but.take full notice, and the Millennium officials will have no choice, but to consider the winner between you, and I as the best choice to face Seth
Joey gets a serious look on his face while staring at Melissa intently.
Joey Leclair:
So my answer is nothing more than competition, but Mel if you accept I will tell you this! Despite how good you are? I don’t plan on losing, because I was built for moments like this, and I don’t plan on losing despite how hungry you are to reclaim your World Championship, because I plan on giving it everything I have got to win, and I will show the world that I am ready to run that my time is now, but don’t mistake my confidence for arrogance Mel it’s just who I am! It’s in my blood to never stop, and while I know that beating you is going to be the hardest challenge of my career to date? I can’t accept nothing less, and I plan on earning your respect no matter if I win or lose
Joey drops the microphone, and extends his right hand towards Mel as a sign of respect as well as awaiting, and answer.
Melissa Reeves:
You’re right, I did lose the Cloud Gate championship at Domino Effect. I’ve chosen not to challenge for it with what should be an automatic rematch. But to ask why I should be in the MWE title picture? Don’t play ignorant. You know exactly why.
Shaking her head, she paces again.
Melissa Reeves:
Strikes me as you want to be a hoop I need to jump through. All my career I’m constantly jumping over new hurdles and you know what? I achieve it. So you want me? Fine. Persuade management to make our match a #1 contender bout for the MWE Title and I’ll fight you.
Whether he wants to reply or not, Reeves has said her fill. She drops her mic and heads off, leaving Joey with plenty to think about no doubt. Joey watches Melissa leave contemplating what she just said, and then leaves the ring following suite heading to the back,
Tag Team Match
ROTTEN (Sad Max & Micaela) VS West Long & Luna
After making their presence felt on night one of Domino Effect and hijacking night two, ROTTEN eventually made their anticipated debut in a tag match against the former Lockdown and Junior Heavyweight champion Luna and her bodyguard, who earned his shot at the IC Championship at the latest PPV. Max blindsided Long off the bell with a vicious forearm smash that appeared to catch the Warwolf in the ear, momentarily rocking the big man. The Living Corpse charged in with a clothesline, but West didn’t even flinch, absorbing the impact. Max went for a second one and was flattened by the Warwolf’s big boot. Long dragged Max up to his feet and Biel tossed him in the corner, showing the young man how a clothesline was really done. He then made the tag to Luna who blasted the young man with a series of knee strikes, showing off her Krav Maga background. With a monkey flip she threw Max back in the middle of the ring, at least in her intentions. The member of ROTTEN somehow landed on his feet and went to make the tag to Micaela. She teased the fans for weeks, preparing the ground for her comrades to make their impact in MWE, and finally tonight Micaela showed the fans what she was capable of. And it was a hell of a first impression, the redhead running circles around one of the household names here in MWE, hitting her with several kicks and suplexes. Luna wasn’t expecting this kind of competition from the opponent and tried to reach West in the corner after surprising Micaela with a throat jab, but the young woman was close to her corner and immediately made the tag. Max leaped inside the ring and darted toward the opposite corner, slamming her face into the canvas with a bulldog right before she could make the tag. He even took a moment to taunt Long, telling him that he wasn’t supposed to serve a spoiled brat like Luna and they could help him break the chains. In response, Long swung a right punch that, if Max didn’t duck it, could’ve ended the match there and then. Sad Max dragged Luna away from her corner and in ROTTEN’s half of the ring. He tagged Micaela back in and, while his partner climbed to the top rope, nailed Luna on her head with a brainbuster. Micaela then soared into the air and landed on the Star Of The Night with a picture perfect moonsault, getting another two. Even if ROTTEN looked in full control, you can never count out the former Lockdown champion. Out of nowhere she caught Micaela with a running spanish fly and finally reached West in the corner, making the tag to the Warwolf. Micaela stayed on the attack but her kicks didn’t seem to be very effective. He blocked a front kick from Micaela and pushed her leg up causing her to do a complete flip in the air and land on her foot. The moment she touched ground, he ran through her with a running shoulder block. Long’s power was something only a few could match, and poor Micaela surely wasn’t amongst them. He tossed her around with disarming ease, Max on the outside tried to rally her back but West was just too much for her. The pop-up one handed spinebuster he calls Boom Drop only gave him a two, and the same happened after the fireman’s carry backbreaker. To Micaela’s credit, she wasn’t giving up, nor staying down. She kept fighting back, tooth and nail. And she literally used both of them, biting his arm to get away from his grasp and raking his eyes. The blinded Warwolf stumbled back towards ROTTEN’s corner, where Max smacked him with a steel pipe to the back of the head. The referee, busy arguing with Micaela, didn’t see any of that, and Luna’s protest didn’t really convince him. Micaela saw the stunned giant standing groggy in front of her and jumped, planting him on the canvas with her Capitalism Is Dead (leaping complete shot). She hooked the leg, picking up the first win for herself and ROTTEN. Quite the prestigious one in that. WINNER: ROTTEN BY: Pinfall (Capitalism Is Dead), 11:03 |
Christina Rose could be seen walking throughout the backstage area. She finally stops when the camera hits her. She has a wide grin on her lips as she looks deep into the lens of the camera.
Christina Rose:
Guess who is finally back… Did all of you miss me?!
Christina offers a small chuckle as she continues to speak.
Christina Rose:
It has been a long time coming but from the bottom of my heart can I just say that it feels so amazing to actually be back?! I feel like this is where I truly belong. I have missed being part of this great company and I knew from the moment that I was released from the contract that I would be doing everything in my power to get back.
Christina smiles as she nods her head and speak some more.
Christina Rose:
After all when I saw that MWE decided to hire two people that I wanted to wrestle I knew I had to be in this company. There are two people who I have wanted to step into the ring with for a very long time. One of them is Lowri Moss. Lowri is an amazing competitor and every time I see her she is always taking it up a notch as a competitor. She is making it just about everywhere and I can’t let a woman who has talents like that escape a huge match like me.
Christina shrugs her shoulders before she continues to express her opinion.
Christina Rose:
So you can expect me to get a piece of Lowri before I am done, but I am sure you didn’t want to hear me talking about Lowri because when I came back to this company there is one man whose business I seemed to interrupt. One man who was on the path to becoming a champion in this company, one man who happens to be my best male friend! I know they say that relationships can be ruined by what I did but let me explain something. As much as I adore matt outside of the ring, he has always had a habit of trying to ruin me. He has at one point almost killed me by taking advantage of something I am deathly allergic too. All of the times he has bullied me in Madden, and all of the bets and wagers I lost because he was better than me. It can make a girl sick and on top of that his whole thing is about trying to get him to shut up. This is where the problem lies though. What happens when you take a woman with one of the biggest egos and mix it up with him who has a huge ego of it’s own.
Christina smirks.
Christina Rose:
You get some major issues and the two just can’t co-exist. There is only room for one of us and I am going to make sure that through everything that my ego is the larger of the two. So for now Matt let it be known that you will always Get Rekt! I expect a receipt at some point and I will happily be waiting for it. Until that day it seems like in my return match I get to face off against Brookford!
Christina snickers as she continues to speak.
Christina Rose:
This will be my big return match and it will be the first of many matches that I will have. I am looking forward to do one thing and one thing only. Showcase why I belong here. During this outing I will win. I am not the same woman who constantly lost on Riot. I am a woman who is here for vengeance and I won’t stop until I wreck shop. So bring on everyone! I will showcase that this rose will always blossom!
Singles Match
Christina Rose VS BROOKFORDChristina Rose made her surprise return at Domino Effect, attacking Matt Stone in the triple threat match to crown the new number one contender to the Intercontinental championship. The Abominable Showman wasn’t booked tonight, but he didn’t miss the chance to watch her rival on her first match back. The two exchanged a few words as Christina made her way to the ring, and when the bell rang, Matt threw some popcorn at the Blossoming Rose, distracting her just enough to allow BROOKFORD to turn her inside out with a lariat. Not that the big man needed any help to take control but he wasn’t one to look a gift horse in the mouth. For three long minutes he absolutely destroyed the opponent with heavy strikes and power moves like the spinning side slam. But never once he tried to make the cover, seemingly enjoying using the veteran as his personal punching bag to let out the frustration accumulated in the past weeks. Christina was able to break the onslaught with a sudden enziguri and tried to get some wind behind her sails with some light strikes. But her comeback was short lived, an uppercut right under the chin from the New Yorker sent her flat on her back. Christina stumbled back into the corner, but when BROOKFORD came charging with a full head of steam, Crystal moved out of the way and the Problem Solver bounced hard against the empty corner. In an attempt to slow him down and limit his movement, Christina kicked him hard on the back of the knee several times. BROOKFORD swung his hand backward and hit her with a backfist, ending this flurry of strikes from the multi-time world champion. As he turned around though, she went for a low dropkick to the knee, taking the big man down and quickly followed up with the Flashing Light (chick kick). The impact sent BROOKFORD down and she made her first pinfall attempt with the Smell The Roses (handspring moonsault), but the former Underground Dynasty champion kicked out in one. Matt Stone laughed hard at this, pointing his finger at the rival enough to drive her into distraction. A short moment, and that was enough for BROOKFORD to get up to his feet and turn the opponent around so he could clock her with a devastating punch. If Christina wasn’t out because of it, she definitely was after the Problem… Solved, the dragon screw neck whip that gave the big man an impressive and quick win. WINNER: BROOKFORD BY: Pinfall (Problem… Solved), 6:13 |
Elsa McCarthy was standing in the middle of the ring as we came back from the commercial break. She started by addressing the elephant in the room, night two of the last PPV being hijacked by ROTTEN. She apologized on behalf of bot MWE and the MENTV network, stating that there will be no refunds for those who bought the event. The news was welcomed with loud boos from the fans, and she had to wait until the noise died down to continue. She put a lot of legal terminology, mentioning contracts and clause and a bunch of technicalities, before stating that, while a refund was not possible, whoever bought Domino Effect on pay-per.view, will be able to see the next special event, Dark Web 3, for free.
A much warmer reaction followed her words. Elsa then continued saying that she just talked to the physician and he, unfortunately, confirmed that Duke Andrews was not cleared to compete. But rather than scratching the match with Hammerstein, she found the perfect replacement. The fans may have seen him earlier tonight, but after two months out for injury, she was happy to welcome Joey Leclair back to Millennium!
As the former Chicago Way champion walked out of the curtain, Elsa left the ring.

Joey Leclair VS HammersteinJoey Leclair was back two months after the injury suffered at Coup De Grâce, in his TLC match against Atti Valentine, replacing Duke Andrews in his scheduled match against the American Monster. And he started off strong, running Hammerstein down with a clothesline. The impact rocked the Lockdown champion who stumbled back against the ropes, giving Joey the opportunity to charge and knock him over the top rope with a big boot. He was quick to leave the ring, standing on the apron as he waited for Jacob to stand up. He then jumped to take him out with a double axe handle but the American Monster caught him with an atomic drop. He then hoisted him up and dropped him onto the edge of the ring with a lifting side slam. Both of them were in their element outside the ring, using the surroundings to inflict more damage and occasionally interrupting the count to keep the onslaught going. And the fans were loving this kind of action and intensity, especially when Joey went for the Prodigal Elbow Smash as Hammerstein was leaning against the ring post. The Lockdown champion moved away and Leclair’s arm clashed against the hard steel. He was still dealing with that excruciating pain when Hammerstein grabbed his wrist and shoved his arm against the post once again. When the match was finally brought back inside the ring, Hammerstein seemed to be in full control thanks to his Hammerplexes. But Leclair, despite the injured arm, kept fighting and blocked the sitout full nelson powerbomb attempt. With a series of rapid fire headbutts, he created the separation he needed to attempt a second Prodigal Elbow. This time he connected, though due the injury, he couldn’t put as much strength as he usually did in it. Hammerstein stumbled back against the ropes, bouncing right into Joey’s superkick. The Prodigy made the cover but he only got a count of two. The two continued trading striked, Joey visibly favoring that right arm The opportunity was too big for Hammerstein to pass, the Lockdown champion connected a single arm ddt that left Joey writhing in pain, clutching the right arm. The champ attempted a submission but Leclair quickly made it to the ropes. After a long phase of dominance from the American Monster, Leclair was able to swing the momentum of the match with a skull cracking roundhouse kick. Finally having shaken that ring rust, the Prodigy came at Hammerstein with incredible striking combinations, finishing the sequence with a spinning backfist that knocked the champion down, only for two seconds. And the same happened for any other attempt he made, namely a bicycle kick and a rope hung ddt. As if the punishment he was taking wasn’t enough Dusty Douglas came walking down the ramp. In his hand, he had the collar that will tie them together when they’ll meet for the Lockdown championship, and he was dragging the chain behind him. Leclair, after taking the opponent with a knee to the face, turned his attention to Douglas, telling him to stay out of his business. The Murder Train wrapped the chain around his fist and knocked the former Chicago Way champion out with a heavy punch to the face. WINNER: Joey Leclair BY: DQ, 12:44 |
Dustin was not done yet. He came here for Hammerstein, and he wasn't going away without his pound of flesh. With the chain still wrapped around his massive fist, he leaned over the Lockdown champion and blasted his face with several right hands, breaking his skin in more than a point. Hammerstein was a bloody mess already, and Douglas finally stopped the onslaught. He then kicked Hammerstein out of the ring and followed him there, fastening the collar around his neck and mouthing something the cameras couldn't quite pick up. Then he started walking up the ramp heading backstage, dragging Hammerstein with him.
We then listen to the audience let out a roar as the camera is panning around to them for a brief moment. Before long though the lights dim down before the sounds of ‘Unsainted’ begin to play. The audience is starting to get used to the music switch considering they are booing the living hell out of the man associated with this and then out comes the World Champion and one third of The Triumvirate in Seth Iser through the curtain and the boos are magnified further just by his presence. Some may have cheered him at the pay per view about being a potential lesser evil...they’re booing the living hell out of him tonight.
As he begins making the trek toward the ring we get to see the gleam of the World Title around his waist as the six foot five Morgantown native scowls at one of the crazy college kids shouting in his direction and the glare is enough to get him to stop said verbal abuse. We also now get a view of his ring attire...he’s opting for a variation of his black and red but it is a new pair because in red letters it does state the name of his new allegiance, The Triumvirate. Even in the ring jacket on the back there’s a triangle design and in the triangle it also reads ‘The Triumvirate’, so there isn’t anybody doubting it. The boots are even new because rather than plain black, there’s ‘SI’ on the boots, the initials to his name in white lettering. The champion enters the ring and demands a microphone and nobody is denying him that. Even through the ring jacket though it seems the champion has put himself in the best physical condition he can being toned but not overly jacked.
Seth Iser:
Now th--
He goes to try to speak but the fans are booing him. Loudly. There’s a glare from Seth as he takes a breath. On this one, he just waits until they let out their anger toward him before he tries again.
Seth Iser:
Before w---
Another roar from the crowd that’s booing. This time, he’s cutting loose toward them.
Seth Iser:
I’m the one with the microphone...AND YOU WILL LISTEN TO WHAT THE WORLD CHAMPION HAS TO SAY WHEN I DEIGN IT APPROPRIATE TO ADDRESS YOU!
This works as well as you’d expect with the crowd booing yet again and even chanting ‘ASSHOLE’ toward the veteran. But once that chant is worked out, it seems they’ve finally quieted down for Seth to speak.
Seth Iser:
Now...on to business. For the unaware...for the fourth time I am a World Champion. At the age of forty no less. You can see it through the gold around my waist. But I hear people trying to pontificate that I’m merely a common thief. That an old man such as myself doesn’t deserve to be holding the most prestigious prize in our company in the World Championship. They’re such razor thin arguments to make because when you win something that gives you the right to have a title opportunity whenever you want...and the personal ramifications of who won the title being there to boot...well, everyone should’ve been prepared for what might have happened. I’ve never been anything but honest about who and what I am, after all…
He pauses for a moment to the jeering audience and there isn’t a hint of arrogance to him when he says that. It’s more said in a tone where he’s out there telling the truth.
Seth Iser:
There are people who get to my position at a young age, sure...but it’s far more difficult to sustain and maintain because you go from hunter...to hunted. It’s part of why there’s such a short shelf life in the average career in our sport. Some might call it paranoia but I know damn near everyone on both rosters as well as outsiders are going to be after me. Some in a pursuit of glory; a handful of others looking to see where they stand. Hell, some in a crusade trying to bring their brand of vengeance out once they’re the ones fully cleared from injury. It’s kind of a bitch...isn’t it dealing with doctors, am I right Duke?
He asks that question with a little bit of sting and this doesn’t make him many friends from the audience perspective with them booing a little further. He stretches that right foot and ankle out that was the reason for not being in a match for a couple of months.
Seth Iser:
But I’ve been hearing through the grapevine that the challengers who want to take a shot are taking form. Duke’s been very vocal about wanting his opportunity. Go ahead and take that shot, brother, as long as you're healthy. I heard Gloria on Riot want to make the case to try to get number fifteen. Then she went and got it so now she’d be chasing sixteen. Congratulations on that I suppose. You don’t care much for the factionalization of the sport...but it’s almost always been a tradition to have people that back you up. That’ll never change. But you want to take your shot that’s more than fine...I’ll gladly show you the difference between me and the others you’ve beaten to earn your fifteen recognized reigns as World Champion.
The confidence bordering on arrogance is now creeping back in as he has that usual smirk etched on his face.
Seth Iser:
Murder Train...you want to get in my business now as the last ‘surviving’ member of the little group I busted up with one fatal strike. Congratulations…
He claps for a moment but it’s clear that it isn’t sincere.
Seth Iser:
But you earned a shot at Hammerstein’s Lockdown Championship. Not me. And you have power...you love hitting things until they don’t move anymore. Hell kid, you’re all jacked up and making up for lost time. One problem though...you disrespected his title and are looking past him entirely when you’re in no position to do that. He did beat a man who recently challenged for the World Title to EARN the right to be Lockdown champion after all. So let me do you a favor and tell you that you need more experience fighting left handed. Told you on social media...I’m telling you here as well. You’re not ready yet to face me. Fight Hammerstein...go for the glory of that championship. Gain that experience...and then we’ll talk.
The fans boo the arrogant tone of Iser as he states all of that.
Seth Iser:
Melissa Reeves…
For the first time in his speech the entire audience cheers but it’s obviously not for Seth. It’s more for the name he dropped.
Seth Iser:
Melissa wants her shot now as well. I’m going to ask you to wait a little bit on that one...not because you’re undeserving. Quite the opposite honestly. You’ve held this title longer than anybody else. A hundred and seventy days as World Champion. I want you to have an opportunity at me after I deal with a few grouchy people because we have a more...pure issue. A pure issue deserves a pure resolution after all. And we both know with how certain personalities are...they’d crash our title match the moment it’s announced. So I’m asking for a little patience from you.
He pauses in this storm as the crowd is booing the fact that they’re being told to wait on their most preferred title match of the ones Iser proposed.
Seth Iser:
Unlike the LSU football program, I know how to handle being targeted by everyone…
And then with that one line the booing reaches a truly fever pitch but Seth isn’t finished yet.
Seth Iser:
No wonder Nick Sabin left with how you people are...couldn’t handle the fact that you idiots couldn’t stop slurring half your words with your stupid alcoholic concotions…
This is when the loud ‘Fuck you Iser’ chant starts and Iser seems purely amused by this. After a few seconds of this loud, profane chant, Seth leans back on the ropes.
Seth Iser:
You know the tickets say no profanity. I gave a pass on the asshole chant but I could have each of you kicked out right now.
There’s that devious smile on his face as the boo birds are at a truly fever pitch before he shakes his head.
Seth Iser:
But I won’t. You need to see the main event tonight. I’m teaming with Megan Monroe, the current Intercontinental Champion and we’re facing the raw talented spoiled sows called the Eldon Family. One of them really loves talking an awful lot of trash but threw away an opportunity to be a singles champion because she likes the word belt too much. Call me old fashioned but I prefer the term Title or Championship myself on that...a belt holds your pants up. It’s a common item. This? This is proof of the extraordinary.
He shakes his head more amused at that particular situation before he continues.
Seth Iser:
But when we find a way to win...which we will you two, do us all a favor and don’t bitch about how it might happen. You two simply need to get better at identifying how things can go wrong and gain defenses for it. You do that and instead of just getting a disqualification win against the tag champions...you’d be holding the gold right now. But as much as you want that claim of being that great tag team...I don’t think you’re quite there yet. I saw Pendragon enough times, they were spectacular for example. Jetpack were pretty damn good when they held it for the initial title reign here after all...so you aren’t on their level...yet. Maybe you’ll get there. Maybe wrestling Megan and I will help you learn something about the sport. Labor omnia vincit you two.
And then he gets that glare etched in the camera with a cold determination.
Seth Iser:
Or you’ll just whine and bitch like you’ve been doing and become a different form of what might have been compared to Neal. That choice is yours after all. Choose wisely…
It has a little bit of menace those last words before he concludes his speech. The veteran taps the World Title around his waist that he’s never taken off this entire time as the entire crowd is still furious at him for the LSU digs, even more so considering the amount of rowdy college kids that are here with Seth just gesturing for the crowd to try to do something about it now that he’s done his business.
We cut to the backstage area of the River Center Arena in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The show was moving as scheduled when we see Duke Andrews sitting on a steel chair, backwards. He was dressed in his street clothes even though he had been scheduled to fight tonight.
Duke Andrews:
You said that Devin made it personal for you. Because he found the weak link and exposed Kelsey for what she really was, nothing. You forget the closeness I have with the McMillion family don’t you? You talk about being a father figure to her. And the love that you share for not just her, but her husband, and the kids. You forget the years I have spent with Christian and Simon and Jeremy. The entire family. Gabby included. You talk about the personal aspect of that, but ask Kelsey or Christian, or even Gabby who was there to gift her something besides that busted up Explorer Christian wanted to give her for her sixteenth.
Duke let out a deep long sigh as he pushed back against the chair.
Duke Andrews:
I understand the mountain I am facing right now. How I now have to climb the ladder again. That stupid move you pulled really was two gut punches. You took my chance to be champion, I’ll get another. I’m a monster, Seth. I’m one person that I promise you, you should never have crossed. But what was the worst gut punch, is that you took MY OPPORTUNITY to right the wrong that was Sandstorm. You selfish arrogant prick. You see nothing in that. You see it in one light where you’re the star that made good and you cast me off as some wannabe that shouldn’t have been in that situation. You crossed the wrong person.
Duke stood up and kicked the chair out of the way.
Duke Andrews:
A couple months back our match was ruined when Sandstorm interjected themselves. You said something then, you mentioned how you have your own legacy. I fell into a trap. I needed to surround myself with others. Funny how those words come back to bite you, Seth. I surrounded myself with people that would push my career. You’re right, I used Constantine and Redd andOlivia. Alan and I both did. But I was smart. I profited off of everything we did. Now we sit and you surround yourself with others that are going to do your dirty work. I know that there’s a target on my chest and you won’t even lift a finger. I’ve been around this business long enough to recognize a snake when I see one. But I’ll forewarn you, what I did to my best friend Christian and Simon. What I did to someone I called a brother to further my career, what do you think is going to happen to a piece of trash that wronged me? Alan has my back and it’s a.p.e. vs. everybody in this situation. We know the consequences for what we are facing. We know that Moretti is going to try and fuck us. Hell, he and Elsa won’t agree to look at my Medical and clear me to compete tonight with a concussion and staples, but book me anyway. I know I have to deal with them and the other two pieces of trash that have stood at your feet. But know this Seth, you made this personal. You drew the line in the sand. And if anything happens to Rebecca or Allison in this...that blood…it’s on your hands.
With that the scene fades to static.
Tag Team Match
The Triumvirate (Seth Iser & Megan Monroe) VS The Eldon Family
Peyton Holland: “Quite the interesting main event, Ambra. Don’t you agree?” Ambra Monroe: “If not just for the names featured on it, the MWE World Champion and the Intercontinental champion teaming up against the former contenders to the tag titles, it surely is if you consider that, in a week, Karen will be facing Megan at the SKW event.” Peyton Holland: “Indeed. A win tonight could help Karen’s cause and make their next encounter a title match.” Ambra Monroe: “Not only that, but it will also establish them further as one of the top teams in MWE.” The match started with Clyde taking on Seth. Despite the young kid’s bravado, the World champion was just too much for him. Too big, too strong, too experienced. Taking control seemed an easy task for the veteran, who blocked a pretentious punch from CEJ and twisted his arm. Clyde tried to reach for the ropes with his foot but he got pulled back into a shoulder tackle by Iser. He hit the mat back first, but the World champion maintained the hold on his wrist, dragging the opponent to his feet and twisting the arm behind his back in a hammerlock, before planting him on his head with a ddt. Rather than making the cover, he dragged Eldon up to his feet and whipped him in his corner, charging and squashing him into the turnbuckle with a splash. Megan took the tag, climbing up to the top rope as the opponent started crawling to his mother. And then she jumped, landing on his back with a double foot stomp. Peyton Holland: “As successful as Clyde and Karen have been, they seem to be no match for Seth and Megan.” Ambra Monroe: “We’re still talking about two world class athletes against a tag team who has been in this business for a few months only.” Clyde kicked out and found himself on the receiving end of Meg’s lethal kicks. A few of them landed on his ribs and sides, but when the Intercontinental champion went for the spinning heel kick, the young man was able to duck it and quickly grab Megan with a german suplex, This was the opening he needed to reach his corner, and make the tag to his outspoken mother. Karen entered the ring with the intention to keep the opponent grounded, locking her in a front facelock. Megan didn’t have much trouble pushing herself up to her feet and getting free with a couple of punches to the mid-section, but Karen grabbed a handful of hair and yanked, slamming her face into the canvas. Peyton Holland: “Gotta give Karen credit, she always has an ace up her sleeve.” She had Meg in a side headlock, the IC champion trying to break free with some well placed elbows to the stomach. The Gamengirl Kick rocked Eldon, leaving her dazed. Megan doubled her over with a back kick to the stomach and pinned her with a sunset flip pin, obtaining a count of two. The members of The Triumvirate began working together showing a good chemistry between them. Seth lifted Karen in a stalling suplex, holdin her in position for Megan to superkick the upside down blonde. Iser then dropped her on her head with a brainbuster. Megan finished the maneuver with a springboard moonsault, but luckily for Megan Clyde was quick to interrupt the count. Ambra Monroe: “That was a close call for the Eldon Family” Peyton Holland: “There’s no way Karen would have kicked out. If it wasn’t for her son, this would be over already. Clyde became the absolute protagonist in the final part of the match, after getting the tag from his mother. He entered the ring and took Megan down with a clothesline, using a second one to keep her grounded as she quickly picked herself up. As she got up again, he went for a third one, ducked by the Intercontinental champion who tried to take his head off with a roundhouse kick. Clyde dodged it and tackled her to the mat, raining down some hard strikes until the referee allowed it. As Megan was lying down, Clyde went to the top rope and jumped for a headbutt, finding nobody home. Megan rolled into her corner and made the tag to Seth, who once again took control of the match with great ease. A couple of near falls came for the Triumvirate with Seth’s Pillar Of Truth and the Icebreaker. But the young kid proved to be resilient, kicking out in two on both occasions. And on top of that, he managed to counter a spinebuster with a sort of ddt, planting the old man on his head. Iser quickly popped up to his feet and looked ready to fight back, only to fall down on the mat with the classic flop. Clyde hooked the leg for the cover but the veteran kicked out in two. Ambra Monroe: “Great counter by Clyde here!” Peyton Holland: “And now Karen is in.. Looks like she’s about to Speak To The Manager!” The matriarch entered the ring and walked toward Seth, delivering a sounding slap to the face before going for the running knee. The slap though triggered the veteran, who was not taking the disrespectful gesture. As Karen charged in, he charged at her in turn and raised his boot to her face. Though Seth couldn’t get the three, that single blow turned the tides of the match once again. Megan wanted to be the one to put Karen down for good, and asked to be tagged in. Her enziguri kick caught the woman right on the face, but somehow she managed to get a shoulder up. Megan watched her crawling to the corner, desperately trying to reach her Clyde. She let her get inches away from her son before stomping her on the spine, crushing her hopes under the boot. Clyde hit her from behind, causing the Intercontinental champion to turn around. The experienced Seth quickly dropped off the apron and went for the boy, looking to stop whatever trick he was pulling. And he did it the hard way, sweeping Clyde’s legs and causing him to plant his face on the apron. It was too late though as Karen, taking advantage of the distraction, reached inside her infamous purse, unseen by the referee and Meg as well. The two men kept brawling on the outside… Actually, Seth kept punishing Clyde and tossing him around like a rag doll. The referee was still watching them and missed Karen spraying some pepper spray in Megan’s eyes before kneeing her in the face and making the cover. The referee turned around in time to make the count and declare the Eldons the winners of this match. WINNER: The Eldon Family BY: Pinfall (Can I Speak To The Manager?), 17:09 |
