Riot in Georgia
Live from Albany Civic Center in Albany, GA
Sunday, February 21st, 2021
As the scene begins in the Albany Civics Center in Georgia, a loud rotary engine can be heard overhead, seemingly circling the building and causing a degree of agitation from Figgles at the commentary table.
Sir Figgles:
Do you hear that? I swear that helicopter has been following me since Domino Effect, all the way from Chicago, it’s right there… just hovering and watching me.
Amy Maynard:
You’re obviously imagining things, why would anybody want to follow you…
Amy cuts off for a moment before continuing.
Amy Maynard:
Ladies and gentlemen, we’re just now getting word that there is, in fact, a helicopter landing just outside the arena and a camera crew is on route to get us a visual.
The scene cuts to a camera feed just as the crew exit the building and the rotating blades of the helicopter slowly spin to a stop.
Sir Figgles:
You see! They’re coming to get me I know it!
As the blades finally cease their movement the door opens and, from the passenger compartment, steps the former Riot champion who approaches the camera crew
Henri Black:
Follow me to the ring, we have matters to discuss.
With that Henri simply proceeds past the confused cameraman who dutifully follows through the arena as Henri’s theme music begins to play across the PA system.
Amy Maynard:
I guess he heard all the things you said about him this past week Figgles, maybe this is the night he finally shuts you up.
Sir Figgles:
Hah, he wouldn’t do that… right?
As Henri reaches the curtain he motions to an individual standing nearby, shuffling his feet nervously.
Henri Black:
It’s time Charles, but don’t worry you did the right thing by coming to me I won’t hold an honest mistake against you.
With that Henri, the camera crew and the man now revealed as Charles, who officiated the Riot championship match at Domino Effect, make their way to the ring.
Sir Figgles:
He’s going to threaten that poor referee again, force him to overturn the result! Henri Black really is scum.
Amy Maynard:
Honestly Figgles, one of these days that mouth of your is going to get the both of us in trouble.
Henri collects a pair of microphones and hands one to Charles before speaking.
Henri Black:
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the first edition of Riot to take place beyond Chicago in what seems like absolutely forever. Hello to you too Figgles, glad to see you got that flat tire fixed, it looked nasty… shredded rubber everywhere.
This comment elicits a yelp from Figgles at commentary
Sir Figgles:
YOU SEE, I WAS RIGHT!!!
Henri Black:
Now you’re all no doubt wondering why I kneed Megan Monroe in the face at Domino Effect, and I will happily explain myself in a moment but first, my friend Charles here has a story to tell.
Charles swallows his nerves and raises his own microphone and begins to speak.
Charles:
M-m-m-my name is Charles Sinclaire and as you all no doubt remember I was the official assigned to last weekends Riot championship match, before the bout I conducted the standard checks on both competitors and their ring gear, including elbow and knee pads, and while I initially wrote it off as my own nervousness or a heaver tape job on Pierce Mannings right knee, the final moments of the bout raised doubts in my mind and so later that evening I snuck into Pierce’s locker room and looked through his gear…
Charles motions to Henri, who removes a kneepad from his chest pocket, the same pad he wore on his own right knee to assault Megan Monroe, costing Eliza the Intercontinental championship.
Charles:
I found this hidden under the rest of Pierce’s luggage, and it confirmed my suspicions because you see hidden within this knee pad is a rather well-hidden pocket within which I discovered a steel plate.
Henri steps forward, slipping a concave steel plate from within the kneepad as he does, and motions Charles to step back
Henri Black:
And then Charles here did the smart thing, he came to me with the evidence and explained everything to me in detail. You see, Pierce Manning had to resort to the lowest kind of dirty trick to dethrone me, and if you know me at all, then you know that I simply cannot let that kind of affront go unanswered.
Shaking his head ruefully Henri continues
Henri Black:
And contrary to Pierces whining on Twitter I never once said that I would leave Megan Monroe out of our business, but don’t worry Pierce, I’m perfectly happy to leave her out of this going forward, all you need to do is grow a pair and give me my rematch.
Henri motions to Charles who quickly vacates the ring and retreats to the top of the ramp ahead of Henri who slowly makes his way out of the ring, but pauses and looks directly at the camera ahead of him and raises the microphone one last time.
Henri Black:
Oh, and Pierce? Consider this fair warning. Before this night is done, I am going to kick your fucking head off.
Flipping his microphone to Figgles at the commentary desk Henri makes his way up the ramp leaving the usually outspoken commentator uncharacteristically silent.
Singles Match
Asher Miles VS Ale VelascoLa Alcadesa didn’t manage to make quite the impact she was hoping for when she signed for Riot. The loss at Domino Effect against Kimberly Williams was just the last in a series of underwhelming performances that don’t do justice to her unquestionable talent. Tonight was meant to be the night she went back on the right track, but Miles wasn’t making it easy for her. From the early moments Asher went on the attack, slugging Ale with quick forearm strikes and uppercuts. Velasco retreated to the corner to get away from that flurry of strikes, but they kept coming, until the referee forced the break. Ale was still a bit stunned and couldn’t avoid being thrown all the way across the ring into the opposite corner, She did, though, manage to get both feet up and place them on Asher’s chest, pushing down and stomping him into the mat. This gave her some time to recover, time she used to lift herself on the top rope, waiting for Asher to get up to his feet and strike him down with the Decelerator (diving dropkick). Alejandra used her technical superiority to slowly wear out the opponent, keeping him grounded with various holds and submissions, including her signature bow and arrow lock. Miles didn’t have the ability to outwrestle the former Gulf Coast Internet champion and had to find an alternative way to get out of the excruciating Achilles lock. The easiest one was reaching the ropes, but he only managed to get a couple of inches away from them before Ale dragged him back to the centre of the ring, applying even more torque if possible. All that effort in vain, and Asher didn’t have it in him to try it again. Desperate times call for desperate measures and Miles rolled over starting to desperately punch Alejandra’s leg, forcing her to relinquish the hold. The damage was done though, and Asher could barely stand on that injured leg. He still tried to use her to keep the opponent at distance, but she eventually caught him with a bridging fisherman suplex. The Antares still managed to raise his shoulder right before the three. If there was something Asher didn’t know how to do, that would be quitting. For reference, see his Ambulance Match against Donovan Keane that won him the MOTY Award, or the second match between when he took an inhuman amount of pain. Despite the bad leg, he was still standing and swinging with his hands. A cross punch rocked Velasco, causing her to stumble back. He was quick to grab her hand and pull her back in a violent lariat, turning her inside out. It was clear that he was trying not to put too much weight on the leg, even getting up after each elbow drop was causing him a sharp pain. He knew he was running out of time, he knew that every second that passed was a second Ale could take his leg and lock her in another deadly submission, and at that point he would be forced to submit. He stomped the foot on the canvas, trying to shake the feeling back in the injured leg. Then he gathered his last energy and, in a rush of adrenaline, charged at Velasco ignoring the pain for his terrific punt kick known as Antares. La Alcadesa grabbed the leg and went for an ankle lock, but as soon as she applied the submission, Asher rolled on his back and caught her with a quick cradle, picking up a win that, considering the direction the match took, was somewhat an upset. WINNER: Asher Miles BY: Pinfall (Inside Cradle), 9:17 |
As the camera cut to backstage, the view was of the MWE Riot logo burning in bright orange. As it panned out though, there was a glorious golden sight. Standing in front of it was the stunningly beautiful sight of the current reigning MWE Junior Heavyweight Champion, Leia LeBeau. She was decked out in a sparkling golden suit, with a matching top hat, seemingly wearing nothing beneath her fastened up blazer. Upon her shoulder was the championship belt, the one she had been chasing for so long, and was finally hers. The championship she had made her first defence of only a couple of weeks ago against Omari Johnson.
Leia LeBeau:
Do you believe in the magic of Show Business now?
She said, twirling her cane and then she raised her prized title belt in the air, the smile on her face almost as bright as her suit. Her stance was a little off, clearly still feeling the effects on her leg from the PPV, and maybe a reason why she wasn’t booked to compete tonight.
Leia LeBeau:
There is no business like Show Business, and those bright lights are shining brighter than ever before. So many have doubted me, but with the support of my family, friends and my man, I am still standing here today as the champion that I want to be, and hope you feel I am now the champion that you deserve.
She stood tall and proud, standing in front of the logo with the proudest, most confident look upon her beautiful face. The Show began speaking passionately, with more fire and determination than she ever had before, with the confidence of a champion shining through.
Leia LeBeau:
This was the speech that I so looked forward to giving when I finally won the title so many months ago, but now it seems fitting that I give it after my first championship defence. Because this Show is going on and on, so prepare to see the posters and billboards go up, get ready for the highlight reels and get your popcorn at the ready for Season Two of the Greatest Show on Earth, and the title reign with no finale. Now my title defense wasn’t without it’s plot twists and turns, but the ending wasn’t a shock--
But Leia, who was giving it her all behind the microphone, was no longer the focus of the footage. The camera seemed to be carried away, looking at the ground and a pair of pink trainers as her voice became fainter and fainter.
Bebe LeBeau:
Mmm… This pizza is soooooo good.
The camera was now focused on the catering table, a wide array of delicious looking food available, as a hand reached out to grab a slice of American Hot.
Bebe LeBeau:
I don’t know why anyone would complain about the catering here. It’s always got pizza and pasta, and all the dips you need. So tasty, soooo good. Everything a Bebe needs to have the poooower to give the bestest camera angles for the bestest wrestling program around.
Came the high pitched voice of the camerawoman, clearly the younger sister of the champ, Bebe LeBeau. She seemed to be grabbing slice after slice of pizza, as well as scooping up other foods onto her plate.
Bebe LeBeau:
Where is the Ranch Dressing? Ranch Dressing? Where is it?
She began screaming out, as another hand came into view, planting a dollop of sauce upon her plate. The camera remained focused on the catering table, as there were loud pops and bangs in the background, followed by white smoke coming into view, making Bebe cough slightly.
Bebe LeBeau:
Thank you! Gawd, it’s so smoky in here. Is there barbecue on?
There were whizzes and bangs, as if it was the Fourth of July, the sounds of fireworks only accompanied by the sound of applause in the background.
Bebe LeBeau:
So tasty. Yum yum yum!
Bebe muttered to herself, wandering back to the interview area, clearly chewing on her food. As the camera raised back up, a tearful and emotional Leia LeBeau was standing there, surrounded by smoke and what looked to be burnt of Roman Candles and the remains of fireworks. She was still speaking, as if flowing through with what she was saying, a tear in her eye and power in her voice.
Leia LeBeau:
--And that, that is why Show Business is staying at the very top of MWE, and like I said, my faves in Nightfall are going to rise and rise and rise, and they will be golden just like The Show as well!
She tipped her hat and took a bow, those in the background applauding whatever she had said, as Bebe’s hand shot into view, giving her a thumbs up. Whatever she had said was clearly well received, and those backstage echoed out chants of “There’s No Business Like Show Business”. Just a shame no one else could hear whatever it was she said.
Singles Match
Razzles Mars VS The EyeHer first official match as a MWE member at Domino Effect after earning her contract only two weeks prior wasn’t exactly the debut Razzles had dreamt of. Her redemption story against the woman who broke her arm and spoiled her debut with another cowardly attack didn’t get the happy ending her and the fans were hoping for, but that didn’t seem to affect her usual joyful mood as she walked to the ring, welcomed by the loud cheers of the Albany fans. The Eye was waiting for her in the ring, sitting in the corner with his legs crossed. When the match started it was an explosion of energy, frantically paced back and forth action with a series of quick pinning predicaments and counters. We lost count of how many times the referee counted to two in the first two minutes alone, but it was a ridiculous number. The Eye and Razzles both got up to their feet with a kip up, receiving a round of applause. Mars charged at the opponent who sidestepped and pushed her against the ropes. She bounced back and jumped on his thighs looping her arms around The Eye’s neck and throwing him toward the centre of the ring with a monkey flip, but the man landed on his feet, turning around to dropkick him on the face. The Eye ducked a crossed punch from the young brit and decked her with a hammerlock legsweep ddt. He hooked the leg but Razzles kicked out in two. He whipped her in the corner and charged with a back elbow but Sailor Mars stepped out of the way. The Eye winded up back first against the empty turnbuckle facing the opponent who smacked him with a kick to the face. Razzles continued her attack with a series of forearms to the face before going for a second monkey flip. This time The Eye landed flat on his back, arching his back in pain. Razzles was already on the top of the turnbuckle, ready to land her Mars Rover (somersault diving legdrop) across The Eye’s neck. She hooked the leg for another cover attempt but only managed to get a two. She continued to capitalize on her favorable moment and scored another near fall with the Curiosity Killer (scorpio rising), but once again The Eye raised his shoulder. The pace never slowed down, not even now that we were close to the ten minutes mark and some fatigue started creeping in. With a dropkick to the knee, The Eye sent the opponent hanging on the middle rope, which gave him the chance to connect the always spectacular tiger feint kick. He then went for a beautiful springboard shooting star press, but the charismatic Brit rolled out of harm’s way and connected with a low dropkick to the side of the head. She looked at the opponent laying flat on his back, then pointed her finger at the corner while glancing at the cheering fans. almost asking them if they wanted to see the Peppermint Twist. The answer, obviously, was a roaring yes and Mars climbed once again to the top rope. She eventually jumped, spinning in mid-air with her sky twister, but the high risk didn’t pay out. Just as she rolled out of The Eye’s springboard SSP’s way, he dodged her finishing maneuver, leaving her nothing but the waiting canvas to stop her fall. He was waiting for her to get up to connect the Tiger Driver, but before he could connect the move, a chair shot to the back knocked him down. WINNER: The Eye BY: DQ, 10:39 |
Echo was not done, of course. Her issue was never with The Eye, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. She came here to take her pound of flesh, to finish what Damian interrupted at Domino Effect. She was here to turn Razzles' dream of competing in a MWE ring into a nightmare, and tonight neither Damian nor Yulia were there to stop her. The young Brit crawled backward into the corner, fear in her eyes as she looked up at her perpetrator. Echo had that sadistic grin plastered on her face as she inched closer to Razzles, taunting and mocking her to cover the "insult" part. The "injury" was about to come, but before she could strike, someone came running down the ramp.
Amy Maynard: "THAT'S NINA!"
The former intern was already back in the ring, Echo turned around and swung the chair aiming at the Chicago born's head. Nina ducked it and yelled at Mars to run. She didn't need to say it twice, Razzles rolled out of the ring but remained there in case Nina needed help. But that didn't seem to be the case, not when The Sting (Fedor Punch) hit and knocked down the former Invictus champion. Nina immediately grabbed the chair and smacked it against Echo's body a ridiculous number of time, leaving her beaten and bruised.
Nina: "Fight Lab sends its love, BITCH!"
She screamed in the Aussie's face before dropping the chair one last time right on the skull. As quickly as she came, she left the ring. Razzles instead remained there to watch her former friend as she was receiving the attention of the medic personnel. The doctor looked up at the referee and shook his head.
Echo won't be cleared to compete in her scheduled match against Omari Johnson-

Leia LeBeau:
Eloise! Did that? Did you see that?
Came the jubilant voice of Leia LeBeau, running down the hall towards her elder sister, her agent Eloise K. LeBeau. She was limping a little bit, but gripped the buxom figure in a tight hug, completely overjoyed before stepping back with the brightest of smiles. Eloise, on the other hand, looked extremely concerned.
Eloise K. LeBeau:
Look, Leia. I am so sorry that happened. I will be having words with her, and I’m sure management will be as well.
It was becoming all too apparent that Leia was unaware of what had really happened during her last interview, looking completely confused by Eloise’s panicked words.
Leia LeBeau:
Huh? What are you talking about? I just gave the finest promo I have ever given in my entire life. That will go down as a defining performance, not just for me, but for how champions both sell themselves and the product to the fans. I’ve never been that good on the mic before. And did you see the pyro? That was the mark of a star attraction. And Donnie and Jay, they will be so happy with everything I said about them! It was perfect! Everything was so perfect.
Eloise smiled sadly, taking her younger sibling by the hand, sitting her down in front of a television screen. Leia rested her belt across her knees, the Seattle born, Vegas raised beauty looking truly baffled.
Eloise K. LeBeau:
Leia, you might want to sit down and watch what actually aired.
Leia LeBeau:
What do you mean?
Eloise cringed as the footage from earlier on in the evening. The look of joy on Leia’s face turned to further confusion, and then to shock. After the shock, came the dismay. And after that? Pure anger, made audible by a scream as Eloise clutched her ears.
Leia LeBeau:

Tag Team Match
Bad Boyz (Dré Angelo & Karib TrinidadT) VS Warblade 42
Valkyrie rushed Angelo as soon as the bell sounded, and the two of them started throwing absolute bombs at each other. Dré got the upperhand following a headbutt and then sent Vee across the ring with an Irish whip. The Warmaiden Of Roskilde came charging back with her arm extended but the Tattooed Demon ducked the impact and she continued her run, hitting the ropes once again and bouncing back into a pop-up powerbomb from the Bad Boy. The first tag of the match came right after and Karib entered the ring. He unleashed a volley of furious MMA based strikes on the Omega trainer, who seemed to absorb them rather well, waiting for the opening to feed him an uppercut to the chin that sent him staggering back and allowed her to run him over with a stiff lariat. She rushed him to get up and hit a second one, then a third, faking a fourth one and kicking him in the stomach instead. Another huge display of strength from Valkyrie who effortlessly lifted the Tattooed Angel upside down with a stalling vertical suplex and walked toward her corner, making the tag to Niko. The Switchover Suplex wasn’t correctly completed due to Dré illegally entering the ring and breaking Yua in half with a huge spear. Trinidad fell on top of Niko and the referee rushed into a cover, but the japanese born kicked out in two. Niko tried to rally back but Karib caught her with a variety of kicks to the legs and then put her on the mat with his Sick Kick (spinning heel kick). Valkyrie kept the hopes of her team alive by managing to break up the pinning predicament before Dré could intercept her. Karib went for a stomp but Yua rolled onto her stomach and then got up to her feet. She had to duck immediately under the opponent’s clothesline, taking the chance to kick him in the back of his leg. The sudden kick brought him down to one knee and Niko blasted him with a superkick to the base of the skull. The Blade Maiden Of Tokyo rolled the opponent on his back and, after a moonsault knee drop, made the cover. Karib grabbed her foot and dragged her out of the ring, turning her inside out with a clothesline. He got up to his feet, smiling proudly at the destruction he brought on the japanese. But that smile was quickly erased by Valkyrie’s big spear. Dré was ready to fly on the outside with a slingshot plancha, taking down Vee. He then found Niko and shoved her back inside the ring, planting her on her head with the double underhook ddt. Still not enough to get the three. The Dane was not afraid to go to war with either of the Bad Boyz. If she opened the match taking on Dré, she was doing the same against a tired Karib in the final moments of the match. The result was different, the Warmaiden Of Roskilde was the one emerging victorious from this exchange, leaving the Bad Boy rocked after a staggering blow to the jaw. She followed with an irish whip into the corner and went for a spear on the Bad Boy. He quickly moved away and sent her between the turnbuckle pads and shoulder first into the solid steel ring post. Trinidad insisted on that body part with a shoulder breaker, but when he made the cover he only obtained a two. He made the tag to his partner, the two of them working on Vee’s arm as Karib twisted it and kept it extended for his brother in arms to jump off the turnbuckle with a double axe handle. In and out they went with quick tags, cutting the ring in half and keeping Valkyrie isolated from her partner. Until Niko managed to make a blind tag on the running Vee, who ducked the opponent’s clothesline and continued the run against the ropes. Niko entered behind the unaware Karib’s back and hit him with her Meteor Strike (bullhammer) in the exact same moment in which Valkyrie blasted him with the Hammer Of Thor (kinshasa). The Knockout Junction did exactly what the name suggested and left Karib lying down on his back. Niko made the cover while Valkyrie made sure Dré couldn’t make the save in time. WINNER: Warblade 42 BY: Pinfall (Knockout Junction), 13:44 |
We open in the backstage area of the arena. We find it completely empty at this moment as the camera is focused only on a wall, which is also empty except for a poster advertising MWE Riot. The clicking of heels across concrete floor can be heard, indicating that someone is approaching. A few moments later that approaching individual is revealed to be none other than “The British Bombshell” Glory Braddock. The blonde haired beauty is wearing a royal purple dress with sleeves and a hemline that stops just at the knee. She is perched atop black patent leather high heel shoes. Braddock is staring stoically into the camera as she prepares to speak.
Glory Braddock:
Some of you may be wondering just what I am doing here tonight. I mean, sure I could have called it in as they say, accepted a nice beak, and enjoyed time with my husband and daughter in beautiful Miami. But I am dedicated to my craft, I am dedicated to professional wrestling, and I am still dedicated to the vision of the Glorious Golden Era. And the GGE certainly had a great night at Domino Effect. Sophie O’Brian silenced that annoying brat Melody Lennox. Neil Newman captured the MENTV Championship. I put down the challenge of a very tough and game Khalil Washington. And while Kyle Butler may have fallen short in the finals of the Sandstorm tournament, he proved that he is still very much a force to be reckoned with in this company. The GGE has turned a corner and we are prepared to fulfill the vision.
Braddock shakes her head.
Glory Braddock:
Ever since I lost the Riot Championship, I have been considering my own future. Have I received a rematch? No, I never did. But then again, I already conquered the Riot brand. As a competitor I am always focused on newer, bigger, greater challenges. Besides, I think Henri Black has unfinished business with the reigning champion and I wouldn’t dare take that from him. But then I also got to thinking about this company as a whole. Quite honestly, I’m not sure I like a lot of what is going on in this company. What should be a sport of pure competition is little more than mafia style warfare with factions building themselves up to monopolize power. And that is definitely NOT the vision of The Glorious Golden Era.
The blonde smirks confidently.
Glory Braddock:
I am here on Riot even though I do not have to be because I am committed to doing what is best for professional wrestling and to seek out new challenges. I want to face the best of the best. That is what GGE is about; facing the best competition, fighting for wrestling, and I am here to put everyone on notice, as I have been doing every single night I am on MWE...NO ONE in the Glorious Golden Era will take a backseat to anyone or anything, especially me. Don’t think that I have not noticed the talk about a new world title contender now that Seth Iser dethroned Devin Hearst. That conversation also includes me. Because my sights are still set on the World Championship. My goal before this year is out is to become a fifteen time World Champion. Right now that makes Seth the target. And anyone who wants to get in my way? They’ll be a target as well. Sic Semper Tyrannis...

Henri Black VS Alan EnvyBig test for Alan Envy against the former Riot Champion Henri Black. The Blackstar was on his path to get back the title Manning took from him one week ago at Domino Effect in a controversial way, according to him. Envy was just on his path, “Nothing personal” as Henri stated as the bell rang, right before he drove his shoulder into Envy’s midsection and pushed him into the nearest corner. Henri clobbered the Show Stealer with a series of shots to try and get the early advantage, but Alan reacted with an eye poke that created the little separation he needed to explode out of the corner with a shoulder tackle. He then began to furiously stomp at Black who rolled out of the way and picked himself up. Alan charged right back at him and was set flying against the ring corner with a belly to belly suplex. The Lonestar was sitting in the corner, the Blackstar was all over him with stomps to the chest and an attempt to choke him with the sole of his boot. Amy at commentary noticed that Henri was far more aggressive than he had been in recent times, and Figgles seemed to dig this new side. Or perhaps he was simply too scared to talk the former champion down like he used to do. The Aussie looked to end things early with the Black Diamond but the Iconic kicked out in two. Alan wasn’t expecting this intensity from the former Riot champion, finding himself once again against the ropes, pretty much helpless against Henri’s knife edge chops. When he charged in with a clothesline though, Envy pulled down the top rope and sent the Revenant over the top rope and down on the concrete floor on the outside. After a couple of seconds to regroup, Alan left the ring and dragged Henri up, driving his face against the steel post and then on the apron. Henri blocked the second attempt and returned the courtesy by introducing the hardest part of the ring to Alan’s forehead and heading back in the ring. Envy followed him in before the count of the referee reached ten and the match could continue with another stiff exchange. The former member of APE landed five consecutive forearms to the jaw and that gave him the opportunity to lift Henri and drop him on his chest with the gourdbuster. He kept the pressure on with some stomps to the lower back and a chinlock designed to further wear down the former Riot champion while recovering a little. Despite the knee planted to the back, Henri made it up to his feet and broke free, but Alan was quick to lock him back in a full nelson. The Blackstar wiggled to break free but he was lifted and slammed into the canvas with incredible force by the AGW World champion who then made the cover, only obtaining a count of two. There was no safe place for Henri now to defend himself from the onslaught, not even the corner where, theoretically, he would have earned a break from those stiff knee strikes. But Envy wasn’t one to abide by the rules or listen to the referee who was trying to enforce them, pushing the official away and going back on the attack with the ten punches at the turnbuckle. At the end of it, he jumped off the middle rope and grabbed Henri’s hand, whipping him in the opposite corner with so much force that Alan himself fell on the canvas. Black crashed chest first into the corner and fell flat on his back, getting hit with a running fist drop by the Show Stealer. Another cover attempt and another two for the Iconic, who was really starting to feel that he could walk out with a prestigious win against the former Riot champion. He sent Henri against the ropes one more time and launched him in the air for his pop-up death valley driver but the Blackstar slipped away from his grasp and quickly surprised him with a backstabber. Alan was writhing in pain on the canvas while his opponent recovered against the ropes. And when Envy picked himself up, the former Riot champion struck with a tremendous Black Sacrament to the back of the head. WINNER: Henri Black BY: Pinfall (Black Sacrament), 12:20 |
The scene opens with the MENTV Champion, Neil Newman, standing in the hallway in front of a blue door. He knocks lightly on the door.
Neil Newman:
Alex, it’s Neil, open up!!
Neil folds his arms into his chest waiting for Alex to open the door. She doesn’t. He rolls his eyes. He proceeds to bang on the door this time.
Neil Newman:
Stop playing games, open on Alex! Is this really the way you want it?
He stops to see if Alex will open the door for him. With a sigh he bangs on the door again.
Neil Newman:
Alex. Come on!!
The door slowly opens and Alex sticks her head out.
Alex Andrews
Go away.
Neil Newman:
We need to talk.
Alex Andrews
Do we? I don't want a thing to do with you.
Neil Newman:
You don’t have a choice, we’re partners. Let me in.
She rolls her eyes and lets out an exasperated sigh.
Alex Andrews
Fine.
She reluctantly opens the door to let Neil in. He walks inside. She closes the door behind them. He takes a seat on a chair.
Neil Newman:
We need to get on the same page. A lot is at stake. For starters, if Donovan or Jay gain a pinfall any one of us, especially me, either of them can lay claim to my MENTV Championship. That’s the last thing you want Alex. I know you. You were so close to becoming champion at Domino Effect. I can see it in your eyes, you want to be the one to take this from me.
Neil pats the MENTV Championship that is wrapped around his waist.
Neil Newman:
Follow my lead. I have experience against Nightfall Rising. Together we can both get what we want.
She goes quiet for a moment as she thinks.
Alex Andrews
You know this might be the first time you've spoken to me without being a total dickwad. I mean, it's still talking down to me, but I get it. And you're right. I do want to be the one to take that championship from you. So..
Alex shakes her head.
Alex Andrews
I suppose I can work with you long enough to protect my interests.
Neil Newman:
Our interest.
Neil smirks.
Neil Newman:
For the record, I want you to be the one to take this from me. I won’t make it easy. I lay down for no one. I chose you for a reason, Alex. I truly am proud of how far you've come along in MWE since this started. Who knows, I can put a word into Glory. Maybe one day you can become one of us. Glorious Golden Era. It would be cool to have you aboard.
Neil does rise from his seat. He walks over to Alex.
Neil Newman:
That’s a discussion for another time. We have business to handle. I’m glad at least for tonight we’re on the same page.
Alex simply nods.
Alex Andrews
Uh huh.
And with that, Neil makes his way out of her locker room. She is quick to close the door behind him after he exits.
Tag Team Match
Alex Andrews & Neil Newman VS Nightfall Rising
Alex and Neil share an eventful past, having fought at Coup De Grâce in a match that saw the young rookie beating the veteran who got his “revenge” by taking the MENTV championship at Domino Effect, pretty much snatching it from the hands of Andrews herself. Another chapter of their unique relationship was bound to be written tonight as the duo had to tag against Nightfall Rising. Alex insisted to be the one starting hostility against Jay and Neil gladly let her take the stage, while he offered his advice from the corner. It was constant encouragement and recommendations, some of them probably not even needed, and this seemed to annoy the young girl, distracting her from the task at hand and leaving a slight opening to Jay who was quick to exploit it to turn the tides of a match that saw him on the back foot for most of the first minutes. After connecting the snap german suplex, Gallagher made the tag to Donovan. He waited before entering the ring, giving the opponent the chance to get up on her feet so that he could springboard himself into action and take her down with a forearm smash. Newman tried to warn his partner but it was too late for her to avoid the knockout blow. Thankfully the former tag team champion was quick to enter the ring and interrupt the count. Donnie and Jay kept alternating as the legal man with quick tags, making sure Alex couldn’t make the tag by any means necessary. The one time she got the opening she needed, after blasting Jay with the Elysium bicycle kick, Newman wasn't there, taken down by Donnie to prevent her from making the tag. Lady Limitless really had to live up her name to resist the combined attacks of the Nightfall duo and kick out from the running single leg dropkick/reverse bulldog combination. She needed the tag desperately though, finally succeeding after countering the DK Bomb by raising her knees. Newman entered the ring and began ragdolling Donovan, throwing him from one side to the other of the ring with the greatest of ease. He didn’t even try to prevent him from making the tag to Jay, almost taunting the young man to come and hit him. Gallagher took the bait and ran right into a discus elbow that stopped him in his tracks. Newman followed with a double leg takedown and some forearms to the face from a mounted position. He attempted the cover and when Gallagher eventually kicked out, he continued his attack with a trifecta of german suplexes. The MENTV champion sent Jay against the corner with an irish whip but Gallagher grabbed the top rope and pulled himself upside down with a headstand before rolling Neil up with a sunset flip, almost getting the three. Newman was back on his feet and immediately ate a savate kick to the chin. Jay then dropped on his back and from the mat punched the man’s throat. With a kip up, the Nightfall member popped up to his feet and immediately hit the stunned champion with a dropkick, sending him into his corner. Andrews took the tag and her partner didn’t look too happy with it. Lady Limitless had something to prove to the man she felt had been patronizing her for months now, and she quickly turned the table once again with the Alex Crusher. From that moment on it was all Andrews, dominating the opponent and scoring a few more near falls. She looked like she was about to end the match with the Hella Rough (unprettier) when Donovan entered the ring. Newman called Alex and warned her about it, before stepping through the ropes to intercept Keane. But the damage was done already, the slight hesitation allowed Jay to slip away and surprise her with a backslide. The feet on the middle rope gave him enough leverage to get the three count. WINNER: Nightfall Rising BY: Pinfall (Backslide), 13:01 |
We then head to a set that’s back in that VIP room. It seems to have gotten a little more decor than the last time we saw it with things being remodeled to look a little nicer than before, even the table is a little longer and elegant looking with the cloth. But rather than be seated with wine at the table there’s three championships at the table. The Riot Championship held by Pierce Manning, the Intercontinental Championship held by Megan Monroe, and the World Championship held by Seth Iser. Where the championships are located is where the three aforementioned people are sitting at said table...how convenient of them all for that.
Seth Iser:
Welcome…
Seth just gestures toward the camera man with his index finger to come a little closer even if his tone isn’t entirely inviting or friendly. The veteran is dressed to the nines per usual in a three piece suit...of the black and silver variety.
Seth Iser:
When I said we’re the leaders of a golden era of professional wrestling...this isn’t a fabrication or some old wrestler rattling off some tale. Look at the prestigious championships all of us have found a way to win. One is on top of a brand, the face that Vincent Moretti is going to market because of all the faith he earned coming up and now the rest of the world is just starting to figure out just how good...how crafty and how dangerous Pierce Manning over there is. He is your Riot Champion. It’s a little late to start jumping onto the band wagon...all three of us are well ahead of the curve in figuring that part out. He took on all challengers and beat them back as Television Champion. It sharpened his mettle further. Made Pierce more crafty than ever. Now he’s the man of the brand and we’re not always ones to say we told you so on that but…
A smirk from Seth that’s devious in nature as if he’s enjoying what he’s going to say next.
Seth Iser:
We told you so.
There’s acknowledgement from Pierce on his side of the table as Seth is beginning his speel before he secondly points to Megan.
Seth Iser:
The world was a little sooner on figuring out where Megan Monroe stands as a pro. She’s one who has to take challenges from both brands as the benefit of being paid by both brands is a bonus...so is the prestige of representing the entire company as one of the elite...one of the champions who wrestlers everywhere target. And she’s approaching a full calendar year beating back the challenges one way or another. Most of all...she’s defining what it means to wear the title as the inaugural holder.
This time it’s Megan’s turn to acknowledge what the veteran is saying with a nod as he coldly now glares at the camera.
Seth Iser:
And now here I am...for the fourth time in my illustrious career a World Champion. I earned the right to call my shot when and how I pleased through my own tournament win and going through hell with someone who is every bit as talented as anybody in the sport in Neal but needed to learn a lesson. I don’t call myself Wrestling’s Greatest Mind because it looks great on a t-shirt after all. And we are truly a golden trio with all we can do...The Triumvirate that the company is now built around. You’d think we’d all be happy with where we sit…
And then you see the other shoe drop as that glare turns into a full blown look of malicious intent.
Seth Iser:
But you’d be wrong on that.
The sneer is fully on Iser’s face as he leans back on his table and finally reaches behind the title belt and it’s water as he doesn’t drink anything alcoholic at this stage of his life.
Seth Iser:
I could go on with how Henri Black, the man Pierce Manning defeated wronged Megan and Pierce both on pay per view. But that’s not my story to tell...besides...I think my friends here can tell that story better than I can.
With that the veteran does take a sip of water with that scowl still plastered on his face. Pierce motions for the camera to linger on his newly won Riot Championship. Beautiful sight. Then Pierce cracks his knuckles, he’s ready to speak.
Pierce Manning:
Speaking of stories---
Pierce mockingly claps his hands while rolling his eyes at the same time.
Pierce Manning:
Bravo Henri. Bravo. Nice story you told out there earlier. No one will mistake you for Hemingway, I’ll give you credit; your version of events hasn’t gone unnoticed. Let me get this straight, your old friend Charles, a referee who Jenni paid off eons ago to score a victory over you, the same referee who the next show you threatened his life if he didn’t admit to his wrongdoings, somehow overlooked a steel plate I allegedly concealed to knock you out? See where your fiction falls apart, Henri. Charles is already afraid of you. He’s weak. Pathetic. Will do anything to survive. Likely shat in his pants not expecting me to win. He likely had PTSD. Felt a sense of overwhelming fear believing you would come after him again. Come on, Henri, ask yourself, can you really trust a man who was willing to take a bribe in the first place? We are supposed to trust the content of Charles' character? Or yours by the way?
Pierce rolls his eyes.
Pierce Manning:
I expect nothing less from you, Henri. The one thing you’ve never given me is respect. Not that I want it. As far as this company goes, the only opinions that matter are the two people sitting in this room with me. Watching you perform mental gymnastics to discredit my accomplishments. Getting old, Henri. Whatever. I can take your disrespect on the chin. What I won’t accept is you--
Pierce points to the camera.
Pierce Manning:
-- attacking Megan.
Pierce scowls. He slams the table.
Pierce Manning:
WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DEMANDING ANYTHING OF ME.
Pierce takes a deep breath, calming himself down.
Pierce Manning:
Megan and Eliza were supposed to steal the damn show on Night 2. Instant classic. One for the ages. But you had to ruin it because of your crackpot theory about my knee pad being loaded, what load of crap. If you wanted a rematch, I don’t know, ask me like a man! That’s not your way, you are a man who threatens officials who can’t defend themselves. You concoct lies and expect for your behavior to be rewarded. Newsflash Henri, bad behavior doesn’t get rewarded around here.
Seth Iser:
Bad behavior doesn't get you championships.
Seth just swirls the water in his hand as he says that. Pierce nods.
Pierce Manning:
Damn right. Henri, simply put, for attacking Megan, I’m not agreeing to a rematch. Doesn’t work that way. The days where you get what you want by being an utter piece of crap are over.
Monroe, who has been sitting there listening the entire time, finally chimes in, with the same kind of venom and ferociousness the fans of Millennium have come accustomed to.
Megan Monroe:
Who do you think you are, Henri? To come out and ruin MY moment!? A moment that had been built up for years, even before this company was known as Millennium. But because you’re a whiny little bitch, you had to come out and ruin it. You had to ruin a match that everyone wanted to see.
Megan scoffs as she glares into the camera.
Megan Monroe:
There was a reason that Eliza used her shot at any championship against me and not you. It’s because you’re a blip on the radar. She knew, just like everyone else here, that you were just a transitional champion, someone who was just sitting there, waiting to lose it to the Man of Riot, Pierce Manning. That’s all you are. It’s also why Eliza refused to team with you. Simply put? You don’t matter and the reason you interfered in my match and knocked me out, is because you’re so desperately looking to matter. But you’re not the building block of Millennium like I am. You’re not the Greatest Mind In Wrestling like Seth is and you’re not THE MAN like Pierce is. You’re simply Henri… a fucking LOSER!
She shouts out the final word, letting Henri know what she truly feels about him. The calm one of the trio, Seth sneers toward the camera.
Seth Iser:
Factis ut credam facis.
The elder statesman speaks the Latin phrase as he sits his water down.
Seth Iser:
That one little bit of interference and acceleration spoke louder than what came out of your mouth, Henri. The championship may not be on the line but...they owe you a little something in return for that stunt. It’s the code, after all. Nothing we do is ever forgotten once you get to a certain level. Not by the wrestlers and certainly not by the damned fans. We’re all at that point…
And then there’s that sinister glare by Seth.
Seth Iser:
...I don’t think you’ll forget the retaliation we’re planning either. I saw you were talking to an old rival of yours for potential back up. We have no quarrel with them but...they wouldn’t be innocents anymore if they decided to come in now would they? But that’s for the future. Let’s...talk about tonight...
Pierce nods.
Pierce Manning:
Tank, don’t think I forgot about you. Couldn’t if I tried. You’re a big guy. Advanced all the way to the finals of the Heavyweight Tournament. One match away from colliding with Dustin, a match the people want to see apparently. You choked when the spotlight was bright, proving that size doesn’t always matter. Losing to Kyle was the biggest match of your career, until now. Stepping in the ring against me, the Riot Champion, in the main event of our first show away from Chicago. The spotlight is one thousand times brighter against The Man of this brand.
Pierce smirks as he points to himself.
Pierce Manning:
Your tweet was cute about wondering when I was going to realize a tank is heading my way. I’m gonna ask you a question; will you know what to do with yourself with a man as accomplished as I am? Check my resume. Look who I’ve humbled, and you’ll realize I don’t care if a tank is heading in my direction, why would I? I’m The Man, born and bred. I sweat no man. No woman. No monster. Definitely no tank. I hope you are more of a man than Henri, you said you’d shake my hand when I win. I’ll hold you to that.
Pierce turns to Seth and Megan. They talk among themselves as the audio ceases. A few seconds later, the scene fades to black.
Singles Match
Tank Steiner VS Pierce ManningSir Figgles: “And here comes the new Riot Champion, Pierce Manning!” Amy Maynard: “Yeah it doesn’t seem that the fans are too happy to see him, at least judging by their reaction.” Sir Figgles: “They’re probably the same idiots who thought Henri Black was a good champion. Their opinions are invalid.” Amy Maynard: “But you actually sang Henri’s praise less than half an hour ago... “ Sir Figgles: “That’s called strategy, Amy.” The champion Manning came hot out of the gate, rushing Tank and although the big Austrian threw a wild attempt at a clothesline, Pierce ducked under it, got behind the colossal european and then took him down with a chop block. Everybody knew by now that the knees have bothered the super heavyweight in the past, and that was where Manning targeted with a few stomps to the back of the left one. The Man grabbed the foot and attempted some kind of submission but Tank used the free leg to kick him away and get up to his feet. Pierce then charged again but this time Herr Steiner grabbed him by the throat and forced him into the nearest corner. He brought his index to his lips demanding that the crowd would go silent, and so they did. Those absurdly hard chops were about to resonate in all Albany but Pierce was having none of it and poked the man’s eye, leaving the ring immediately to escape the skin-tearing strikes. Sir Figgles: “I don’t get why they’re booing OUR champion…” Amy Maynard: “Perhaps because they would have loved to see Tank’s famous chops? And because he, shocking I know, used a shortcut to take the cowardly way out.” Sir Figgles: “Clearly, they’ve never been on the receiving end of those chops… Because if you ever find yourself in that situation, I can assure you that you’d be willing to sell your own mother to stay the hell away from them.“ Amy Maynard: “That’s a fair point, I guess.” Tank followed the champion outside, starting to chase him around the ring. When Manning thought he had enough advantage on the 340 pounder, he slid back in the ring and continued his run against the ropes on the opposite side. But he underestimated Tank’s speed, and when he bounced back from the ropes, the Austrian was there already, waiting for him as he raised his leg for Das Boot. It was too late already for Manning to avoid impact, the best he could do was try to protect his face with both hands and somehow cushion the terrific impact. Tank may have not gotten all of it, but it was enough to knock the champion down. With no second thought, the Austrian ran and jumped on him with a senton, squashing The Man under his weight. Pierce was still able to kick out in time. Amy Maynard: “It’s amazing how quick and agile Tank is…” Sir Figgles: “You know what his secret is? Sandstorm Energy™ drink!” Amy Maynard: “For one, I highly doubt Tank has ever gone anywhere near a can of Sandstorm, if not to blow it up… And secondly, you don’t have to do this anymore, you know? Sandstorm Inc. ended at Domino Effect when Hearst and Constantine were put on the injured list.” Sir Figgles: “He’s secretly a fan… And don’t be a fool, Amy. Sandstorm never dies, although I can already hear the haters saying that you might, if you drink it… All false propaganda, by the way!” Tank grabbed Pierce by the head but the champion broke his grip, slipped behind him and put him down with another chop block. He went to stomp on the left knee again but Tank knew it was coming and quickly rolled out onto the apron. Staying inside the ring, Manning fed him a couple of heavy forearms to the jaw but Tank remained sturdily on his feet, holding onto the ropes to keep his balance. Manning then took a sprint against the ropes to put some momentum behind what was meant to be the final blow to finally drop the big man on the concrete floor. Once again though Steiner was quick to counter with a shoulder block between the ropes, doubling over the Riot champion, wrapping his arms around his head in a front facelock. Amy Maynard: “No way, he can’t do this…” Manning saw his intentions and tried to resist, but Tank lifted him over the top rope and was ready to drop him on the outside with a suplex. But Pierce somehow was able to shift his bodyweight and land on the apron, right in front of the Austrian. A kick to the knee caused him to falter, and set him up for a nasty ddt on the edge of the ring. The champion grinned and went back in the ring, demanding that the referee would count the Austrian out. And so he did, but the super heavyweight still had some fight in him and slipped under the bottom rope at eight. He found a flurry of vicious stomps to the head waiting for him and had to retreat on the outside again. As he did though, he grabbed Pierce’s support foot and dragged him out with him. The champion held on that bottom rope for dear life, resisting Tank’s attempt to pull him out with him. He managed to push the Austrian away and made it back to his feet, but by the time he did Tank was already back on the apron, hitting the riot champion with a violent cross punch to the back of the head. The impact sent Pierce staggering in the corner, and when Steiner re-entered the ring, he found him right where he wanted. The first chop echoed in the silent Arena and was followed by Pierce’s cry of pain. Then a second one hit, and a third in rapid succession. By the time he stopped, Manning’s chest was a dark shade of red. Amy Maynard: “Dear Lord…” Sir Figgles: “I hope you’re happy now, you sick bastards! I rather watch two people nearly killing each other in a deathmatch than that…” Pierce was down, but that was not an issue for Tank Steiner who easily picked him up with a deadlift Austrian Suplex, even bridging into a pin. Manning kicked out in two and half. The following five minutes were the longest Manning had been into in a long time as he had to endure an incredible amount of pain. Punches, kicks, headbutts, suplexes, the giant swing… You know, the whole she-bang. He always kicked out but you could tell it took a lot out of him. Henri Black came out to enjoy the show from a privileged position, Pierce’s suffering was clearly amusing him. But his presence winded up distracting the referee, who didn’t realize Tank was making the cover after powerbombing Pierce. The Austrian was not pleased and muttered something in his native language. Standing up he went to say something to Henri and the referee as well but he got low blowed by the champion who then quickly rolled him on his shoulders with a school boy pin. The official only saw this last part and he dropped down to count the one, two, three. WINNER: Pierce Manning BY: Pinfall (School Boy pin), 14:19 |
Pierce was in no mood to celebrate after his win, especially with Henri already standing on the apron and clearly looking for vengeance. The rest of The Triumvirate was coming out to the ring, and he wanted nothing more than joining them. But on his way he found Tank Steiner, who avenged the low blow with another devastating open hand chop on the bruised chest. Manning made a 180° spin while holding his chest, an expression of pure agony on his face. He didn't even see Henri striking with the V-Trigger knee performed with his knee pad lowered to prove that he didn’t need any trick or reinforced pads to get the job done.
Megan and Seth were finally at ringside, but it was too late to save Manning who was lying on the mat. The IC champion dragged her man out while Iser looked intentioned to enter the ring and take on the two men, alone. Or perhaps he only did it to allow Megan to rescue Manning, since once the Riot champion was out of the ring, he dropped off the apron and left.
Tank and Henri were left in the ring, and the tension between them was at an all time high. Steiner didn't appreciate Henri's intermission, and the Blackstar simply told him that if he had any problem with what he did, he's welcome to settle it in the ring, seven days from tonight in Kansas City. With that said, the former Riot champion left the ring as "Ravenhead" by Orden Ogan played out of the loudspeakers.
