We see something prerecorded, the screen flickers and goes black. In the background we can hear singing. Like a child’s rhyme, except we can’t quite hear what’s being said by this young, female voice. That is until a single light, a candle in fact, is lit before the singer. Saki, the Singapore Mauler, the Kawaii Deathmachine sits cross-legged before the slowly melting candle. She sings, sort of, an odd sing-song tone.
Saki
Well, we dig dig dig
Well, we dig in our mine the whole day through
Dig dig dig, that is what we like to do
And it ain't no trick to get rich quick
If you dig dig dig, with a shovel and a pick
Dig dig dig, the whole day through
Got to dig dig dig, it's what we like to do in our mine, in our mine
Where a million diamonds shine
We got to dig dig dig, from the morning till the night
Dig dig dig up everything in sight
We got to dig dig dig, in our mine, in our mine
Dig up diamonds by the score
A thousand rubies, sometimes more
But we don't know what we are diggin' for”
The two-tone haired loony giggles and looks up at the camera, each eye a different color, but bright and wide like an eager child.
Saki
Catriona we start the show, and you know how it goes. Dig, dig, dig, we shovel for our place deeper on the card. Know that it is a battle that very, very hard. Brutal and painful, but win or lose it’s hardly shameful. Lest you end up a bloody mess, even then some would consider it blessed. Bleed for your future, make use of a good suture. This is Millennium's Requiem. And you’re facing Saki, so try to be happy.
With a giggle she stares right at the camera, leaning down to use her tongue to snuff out the flame. There’s a childish giggle in the distance before we cut away.

MILLENNIUM XIII: Chuckalooza
Live from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH
Saturday, August 18, 2018
The show comes to life panning over pyrotechnic display on the Millennium Wrestling stage: The large metallic M hanging over the stage itself, with wrestlers emerging from beneath the heavy spiked. "Waking Lions" by Pop Evil blasts through the arena, pumping up the audience in attendance. The cameras pan around the arena, showcasing the sold-out crowd, focusing in on a few of the fan-made signs:
"Daddy Got Screwed" “Grace Got Screwed” “Megan Got Screwed” “Wtf Stop Screwing People Chuck” “Chris Got Screwed” “D’Angelo Got Screwed” “#SCREWED” “Second City Screwjob” “Who Getting Screwed Next?”
The show cuts to the broadcast table.
Jared Idol: “I don’t think Cleveland likes Chuck much.”
Bea Torres: “We’re here in lovely Ohio, our farthest venture outside our Midwestern region, and it’s time for HOT MILLENNIUM ACTION!”
Jared Idol: “Is there a more disturbing way to phrase that?”
Bea Torres: “I could think of one.”
Jared Idol: “Please don’t… we’ve got a good show tonight, though, with the main event our traditional Champion versus Champion bout between the NEW Champions, Jennifer Yang and Kate Steele!”
Bea Torres: “And of course, tonight we see the new Cloud Gate Champion in action as she defends her belt against…. Ace Watson!”
Jared Idol: “There have been some questions in the back all week about that one. Ace Watson lost his match at Battle Cry, and yet this week, he finds himself in contention for one of the top belts Millennium has to offer!”
Bea Torres: “DON’T QUESTION OUR BOSS, HE’S A GENIUS. You just can’t comprehend his master plans!”
Jared Idol: “I suppose time will tell. For now, let’s get into our first bout.
Singles Match
Christina Rose VS Jacob FigginsChristina Rose and Jacob Figgins were both looking to pick up some much needed momentum in the opening bout of Millennium 13. The two put on a quick match, but definitely one that gave some action to really warm up the Millennium crowd in Ohio. Christina’s experience showed as she kept the fight to Figgins, but as the match continued, his technical ability and hard-hitting style was too much for Rose. Jacob Figgins debuted a new deadly weapon in his arsenal: A move he called Moonshine Delirium. Christina Rose never saw it coming, and Figgins walked out with the win. WINNER: Jacob Figgins BY: Pinfall, 7:00 |
Bea Torres: “What was that?”
Jared Idol: “He calls it the Moonshine Delirium, and… jeez, Christina is out cold.”
Figgins smirked to himself, looking down at his fallen opponent. The referee goes to raise his hand, but Figgins pulls away, retreating from the ring, his eyes darting around at the crowd as he vanished to the back. The show cut to commercial.
Tag Team Match
Kasey Summers & Tiffany Tompkins VS The New World (Drakkon & A.C.I.D)This match was over before it could even get underway. A lot of fans had voiced their doubts about Tiffany’s win against Ace Watson, calling it a lucky victory that took advantage of the interference of Christopher Kane. A swift Death Kick to Drakkon immediately after the opening bell shut those doubters up in a heartbeat. Rather than go for the quick pin, Tiffany tagged in Kasey, who seemed somewhat surprised that she was getting brought in so quickly. Kasey went for the quick pin on Drakkon. One… two… A.C.I.D broke it up. The referee shouted for him to leave the ring. Kasey dragged Drakkon back to his feet. She smiled, slapping him across the face. Drakkon stumbled to the ropes, leaning against them. Kasey threw him across the ring. He came flying back, right into a hiptoss from The Warrior Princess. Kasey taunted him, demanding that he get up. Slowly, Drakkon got back to his feet… SF2 Turbo! Kasey went for the pin. One… two… AGAIN, A.C.I.D broke it up. Kasey gritted her teeth, retreating to her corner. She slapped Tiffany’s hand for the tag, and charged across the ring, diving over the rope and tackling A.C.I.D off the apron to the floor. Tiffany stalked Drakkon. He slowly stood. She sent a sharp kick to his midsection, and when Drakkon tried to swing back, ANOTHER Death Kick, the third straight kick right to Drakkon’s skull, dropped him for good. One… Two… Three. WINNER: Kasey Summers & Tiffany Tompkins BY: Pinfall, 2:52 |
Bea Torres: “”Well… thanks for playing, I guess.”
Jared Idol: “Did Drakkon hit a move that entire match?”
Bea Torres: “Tiffany and Kasey are no slouches. I think it’s time that people stopped forgetting that.”
Jared Idol: “Another win for Tiffany… she’s been on a bit of a roll lately. What’s next for her?”
Tiffany eyes Kasey, who nods up in the ring at her partner for tonight. Tiffany raises her hand. The crowd cheers loudly, showing support for the rising star. The show cuts backstage.
Standing around backstage at the Quicken Loans Arena is Christopher Kane with a look on his face that tells most folks to steer clear of the angriest roster member, probably angriest anyways. Christopher is in his gear for his upcoming contest against Mistress Vivi as he stops and looks at a few Millennium posters. None of them have his likeness on it.
Christopher Kane
You’d think they’d want to promote someone who beat the owner of this place, but I guess not. Suppose it comes with the decision of what I did a few weeks back, and probably what I did at Battle Cry, but I really don’t regret any of it. Making me fight my sister like that? Not doing it, and I think her night turned out well anyways. Two wins in her debut? Not bad.
He shrugs his shoulders as he continues to look at the posters.
Christopher Kane
Mistress Vivi tonight. Woman who hates my family. That’s fine, don’t really care who she hates or doesn’t hate. Talented wrestler, wasted away in a couple other companies though. She’s here now and requested this match a little while back. Naturally, what she asks for, it’s granted. What most people ask for here, they get. Me?
Shake of the head.
Christopher Kane
I don’t get anything. Can’t even get the respect of these people back here despite holding a title in the past 748 days or whatever his number is getting up to. Vivi, if you’re watching this on a monitor backstage, I’m not going to go off on you because quite frankly, I don’t care about this match. I only care about getting Ace Watson across from me in that ring. I’ll do what I have to do to get it done. I will cost him every single match in this company until Chuck Matthews gives me this match.
A slight pause.
Christopher Kane
I don’t want anyone brought it. I don’t want a gauntlet match. I don’t want a title match. All I want is Ace Watson. I’ve said it since he debuted here that he is a chicken shit fraud. He needed brass knuckles to win that battle royal and what has he done since? Lose to Nessa, lose to Tiffany and tonight he’s going to lose again with my sister’s title on the line.
Before Christopher can continue, he hears a loud clearing of the throat. He spins to see Britty with the Cloud Gate Title around her waist. She has her hair back in a ponytail and looks as if she wants to hit him.
Britty Kane
Look, you, stay out of the way tonight. I know you hate Ace Watson, but this is my first defense and a chance to prove myself out there. Despite Mr. Watson’s singles championship drought, I want to beat him on my own ability, not cuz you got sand in your butt over him and everyone else not liking you.
Now she shakes her head.
Britty Kane
I’m gonna level with you. You’re an unlikable butt that cries over everything. It’s like all you want to do is whine about how no one respects you. Maybe if you showed Mr. Matthews a little more respect, you’d get some great chances here like I did at Battle Cry.
She pats the Cloud Gate Title.
Britty Kane
Who actually thought that treating your boss with respect and not running around claiming conspiracies and people are out to get you, that you might get liked and a little ahead. You’re your own worst enemy. Just like the man you don’t want people to compare you to. Fix yourself before you’re alone cuz everyone wants nothing to do with you.
Britty smiles and gives her older half brother a hug.
Britty Kane
I got a match to get ready for against Ace. There’s a good chance I don’t walk out of here tonight with this title, and you know what, if that happens? I’ll just move on and know I did my best and not scream if he cheats to win. If he does have to cheat to beat me, you know what that says?
The smile gets wider.
Britty Kane
I’m as good as I think I am and he couldn’t do it on his own. Always take pride when people cheat to beat you, big bro. See you after the show if you wanna get some food!
Christopher watches his upbeat sibling wander off out of the shot as he turns to face the camera.
Christopher Kane
Shut up, little lesbian.
He chuckles before walking out of the shot too, the camera cutting away elsewhere.
Singles Match
Christopher Kane VS Vivi RobichaudVivi Robichaud had one request: Her debut match was to be against Christopher Kane. Kane, who had been drawing the ire of both management and many of the Millennium fans, seemed uninterested in the match. Chris had made it abundantly clear that his mind was set on beating Ace Watson, and it showed as he faced off against The High Priestess. On paper, the match should have been a high octane flight fest, with two prominent high-flying wrestlers going at it. Instead, Kane kept himself grounded for most of the bout, opting to take Vivi down with takedowns and wear her down with chain wrestling rather than attack from the sky. Vivi had no such limitations, and when the opportunities presented themselves, she took him to the mat with hard dropkicks and clotheslines off the top rope. A diving elbow drove her straight into Kane’s sternum, and she went for the pin. One.. two… Kane kicked out. Kane was back on his feet. Around the ring, he eyed Millennium’s Security force, who stood by the barricade, watching the crowd, but occasionally glancing back at Kane in the ring. Chris narrowed his eyes, watching them closely. Vivi came up behind him, grabbing him by the waist and utilizing a basic wrestling takedown to bring him to the mat. She quickly wrapped him up, locking a triangle choke, pulling back. Chris struggled for a moment, kicking his legs, hoping to get a foot over the bottom rope… he did it! The referee counted to five, but Vivi released it just in time. She rolled back, then came right back on the attack. Kane leapt up, hitting a pele kick that send Vivi staggering to the ropes. Kane makes a motion as though to charge but freezes. There was distinct movement from one of the guards. He whips around, raising his fists for a fight. The guard looks at him through his visor, cocking his head to the side slightly. Kane grits his teeth, yelling at the guards. The guards remain at their posts on the opposite sides of the barricade. Kane kicks the bottom rope hard, thoroughly convinced that they had tried to jump the rail. He turns his attention back to Robichaud… Hurricane Vivienne! Out of nowhere! Vivi took complete advantage of the situation and hit her signature move when Kane was distracted! She hooks the leg. One… two… three! WINNER: Vivi Robichaud BY: Pinfall, 12:02 |
Jared Idol: “Did security seem fidgety to you?”
Bea Torres: “No, why?”
Jared Idol: “Chris was clearly seeing something he didn’t like. He was distracted by that match, and I noticed it too, Millennium Security was getting awful close to that railing. And did you see how they kept looking back at Kane? I don’t like it.”
Bea Torres: “Christopher Kane is so convinced that people are out to get him. Mr. Matthews says the guards are here to keep the roster safe, and quite honestly, I feel perfectly safe here. When was the last time we lost an announce table to shenanigans?”
Jared Idol: “Hmm… well, Kane certainly doesn’t seem pleased with this result.”
Bea Torres: “Stop talking about Kane! He lost, Vivi won! WELCOME TO MILLENNIUM, VIVIENNE!”
Vivi looks out at the crowd. She nods, smirking at the reaction. She shakes her head sadly at Kane, who has slowly begun to stir. Vivi heads to the back. Meanwhile, in the ring, Chris slams his fists on the mat, livid that security had messed with his match. He storms off backstage, determined to find the man responsible.
A black briefcase gets slammed on top of a table, which results in a loud thud and a rattling sound can be heard from inside the briefcase. Chloe Collins and Jason Hawk stand around the table.
Chloe Collins
Care to tell us what is inside the briefcase?
She asks a bit concerned about the clinging noise that came from within the briefcase.
Jason Hawk
I want to tell you a story about a man I knew long ago.
There is an empty stare in Jason’s eyes. He is staring straight ahead, looking at nothing in particular.
Jason Hawk
A man that made spines shiver and teeth rattle by the mere mention of his name. So, I won’t mention his name. Mostly because he doesn’t deserve the recognition, and no one remembers him anyways. Which unlike with me is fine. He always was a douche. A bumbaclot some called him.
Jason smirks to himself.
Jason Hawk
No one ever liked him. He was a vile human being. He felt no compassion for anyone. He found joy dealing pain and dishing out punishment. Take a look at my amazing body and there are plenty of scars that I’ve gotten from him. While I, and so many others just like me, would be writhing in pain he would stand over us. Emotionless. Without a care in the world. Enjoying his devilish work, he would blabber something on about that the prophecy had come true. He could destroy a body in unimaginable grim and horrible ways.
Jason shivers as some horrible memories spring to mind.
Jason Hawk
No one would ever cheer him. Why would anyone cheer for him, Chloe? How are you supposed to cheer for the guy who doesn’t give you what you want? How are you supposed to cheer for the guy who enjoys the violence and pain? And most importantly you can’t cheer for the guy that robs you of the opportunity to watch me fly. It was something that I never understood. I never understood how he kept going.
Jason sighs.
Jason Hawk
Him and I were from different worlds. We had nothing in common. He was everything I never wanted to become. Everything I feared. But now, now I suddenly get it. I understand him. For you see, Chloe, I wasn’t the only one who feared him. Whenever he stepped foot onto the stage there would be nothing but silence. But it wasn’t because he had suddenly been forgotten. He was feared. The crowd were stunned into silence. On those rare nights that someone dared boo him, he snapped. The Lord had no mercy. He punished them by mercilessly destroying those they cared about. That’s when he thrived.
Chloe Collins
Are you saying that...
Jason Hawk
I am saying that I am giving this crowd one last chance! I am giving them one final opportunity to treat me with the respect I deserve. To shower me in the praise and adoration that I should have received the first time I stepped out through the curtains. If they give me what I want, I’ll give them what they want. I’ll keep making sacrifices, I’ll keep blowing their minds and I’ll keep showing them athletic abilities that are second to none. My patience has worn thin. There is nothing, but an ounce left. When that has been used up I have no other choice. I now understand what I must do. He demanded respect everywhere he went. He didn’t do it by dancing for a crowd. He did it by striking fear in your heart. I can admit that I have never been the most hardcore of wrestlers. I know how to swing a steel chair, but now, with this...
Jason places a hand on top of the briefcase. He takes a moment to just look at it.
Jason Hawk
With this I now have the tools to demand the respect I deserve. To demand the fear, I never could do before. Believe me, Chloe. It is not something that I want to do. I have felt the pain from this tool of destruction. Just the thought of it makes me ill. The first time I use it I am no longer the same Jason Hawk. I am no longer His Flying Majesty who loves his kingdom and everything in it. I’ll turn into an evil king that rules over his kingdom of poverty with strict laws and a lack of love and compassion. You don’t want that Chloe, I don’t want that. But I understand now that it is what I must do. For they don’t deserve any better. One last chance or else.
Jason pauses for a moment. Hesitating to continue as he struggles to get last words out.
Jason Hawk
You know why, Chloe? For so it was written, so it shall come to pass. I am sorry.
Jason finally looks at Chloe for the first time. With genuine sincerity in his eyes he adds.
Jason Hawk
Forgive me.
Singles Match
Chuck Matthews VS Nora Foley
The owner of Millennium Wrestling stepped forward, extending a hand. Nora seemed hesitant, knowing full-well the reputation of the Smartest Man in Wrestling. Still, she reached out, clasping his hand…. And he returned the gesture. No tricks. The two retreated to their corners and the match begun. Chuck paced his side of the ring, looking for an opening. Nora approached. Chuck ducked her attempt to grapple, sending a hard kick to the back of her leg. Nora spun around, swinging a backfist that caught the mastermind by surprise, and dropped him hard. Chuck was quick to his feet, only to be seized by Nora and planted back on the mat with a scoop slam. Nora dropped an elbow across his chest and went for a pin. One… two… kickout by Chuck Matthews. Nora picked him up off the mat and threw him to the corner. Chuck bounced off, right into a clothesline. One… two… another kickout at two, but Matthews was rattled. She grabbed him by the hair, lifting him up and clamping him in a bearhug. Chuck struggled in the hold. Nora squeezed tighter, putting pressure on the lower back. Chuck reached out and clapped his hands over her ears. She released the hold with a cry, holding her head. Matthews leaped up, nailing an enzuigiri that rocked the Wolfmother. He hit the ropes, coming back… shoulder block from Nora! Chuck was stopped dead in his tracks, hitting the mat hard. Again, she picked him up. She thew him to the ropes. Chuck rebounded off… ducked the clothesline! Chuck hits the opposite side and came rocketing back… Hollywood Impact! Chuck took down Nora with a wicked spear! He goes for the pin. One… two… thr- kickout! Chuck rolled away, looking genuinely surprised that his most powerful move hadn’t been enough. He retreated to the corner, crouching down, preparing himself for a second spear. Nora slowly sat up and got back to her feet. Chuck charged. Nora sidestepped it, but grabbed Chuck as he ran. With a roar, she spun him in a tilt-a-whirl before crushing him over her knee. Andraste’s Hammer! Nora hooked the leg. One… two… three! WINNER: Nora Foley BY: Pinfall, 10:50 |
Bea Torres: “Nora beat the boss!”
Jared Idol: “Chuck was looking good in parts of the match, but there’s just no matching the strength of that woman right there.”
Nora helped Chuck to his feet. He bows his head respectfully, and pats her shoulder. He raises her hand as Rum announces her the winner. Nora celebrates a moment before heading up the ramp. Chuck lingers behind, motioning for a microphone to make an announcement. The ringside crew hands him a mic. Chuck stands in the center of the ring, smiling at the crowd. He opens his mouth to speak…
Bea Torres: “No!”
Dane Archer’s massive elbow smashes the back of Chuck’s skull! He motions to the crowd, where a small squad of Ryen Riekert’s best men hop the barricade, surrounding the ring. They toss a table into the ring for Dane, who sets it up in the center. Chuck, too exhausted after the match with Nora, tries to push himself back to his feet. The seven-footer plants his boot on Chuck’s spine, pushing him slowly back into the mat and putting his weight on that foot. Chuck groans in pain, trying to move. Dane picks him up off the mat. Chuck sends a hard punch to Archer’s face. Dane’s head jerks to the side from the force of the blow. For a moment, he looks surprised. The look quickly dissipates into a smug smirk. He cocks back, hitting the boss right back with a right hand of his own which levels the Smartest Man in Wrestling. Chuck crawls towards the ropes. Dane sends a heavy kick to his ribs, flipping him onto his back. Chuck wheezes, clutching his side with a pained look on his face. Dane smiles, picking him up off the mat. He pulls Chuck in and lifts him high in a powerbomb position. He turns slowly and slams Chuck through the table, which explodes with the force of the slam! Dane smirks, picking up the discarded microphone. He bends over, looking down at the defeated Matthews in the wreckage of the table.
Dane Archer
Miss van Beek sends her regards.
The show cuts to commercial.
Cloud Gate Championship
Britty Kane (c) VS Ace Watson
Britty Kane, the new Cloud Gate Champion, looked focused as ever as she had a huge obstacle to overcome in her first defense. Ace Watson may have lost at Battle Cry, but he had been on a tear in the weeks leading up to it, and many had thought he’d make a run for the Millennium Championship, if not the GWA belt itself, had it not been for the company’s unfortunate end. Britty came out of the gate swinging. A flurry of attacks in the earlygoing took everybody, including Ace Watson, by surprise, and Watson found himself on the defensive as she sent one sharp kick after another, wearing down the challenger. Ace caught her leg. Britt hopped on one foot and jumped, sending a hard boot to the side of Ace’s head. Ace stumbled back towards the ropes. Britt charged him, diving with a crossbody. Ace caught her, but the momentum brought both of them tumbling over the top rope to the floor. Once on the outside, Ace was able to get to his feet and take control of the match. He lifted Britt off the concrete and sent her headfirst into the announcer’s table. Another irish whip put Kane crashing into the steel steps. Ace stalked her as the referee continued his count. He dragged his boot across Britt’s face. Britt got back up. Ace went for a clothesline, but she ducked it and spun, hitting a roundhouse to the back of his head. Ace staggered to the railing. Britty grabbed him by the head, driving him face-first into the post. The two brawled on the outside until Ace overpowered her, driving a shoulder to her gut and carrying her to the corner post. A ringing sounded out as Britty’s spine was crushed into the unforgiving steel. He picked her up. Britt took a wild swing, which Ace easily dodged. He pulled her in and dropped her on the concrete with The Replay! The referee hit eight. Ace looked down at Britt, struggling to even stand, let alone put up a fight. He shook his head, looking up at the ref. Ace Watson Not like this. The referee hit nine. Ace took a couple of steps back, frowning as he crossed his arms across his chest. The referee called ten and ordered the bell. WINNER: No Contest -- Britty Kane STILL Cloud Gate Champion BY: Double Countout, 8:14 |
Ace grabbed the steel ring steps, throwing them into the ring. He picked Britt off the mat, rolling her in after them. Ace slid into the ring, looking around.
Ace Watson
COME ON, KANE!
He picked the brutalized Britt off the mat, looking around for her brother. He set her up for another Replay, but didn’t hit the move.
Ace Watson
WHERE ARE YOU?
Still no response. An eruption of mixed cheers and boos sounds as Chris steps out onto the stage. He grits his teeth, looking at Ace. Ace smirks, nodding towards Britty and the steel steps. Chris takes a step forward. Around the ring, Millennium Security braces for a fight. Ace taunts Kane, urging him to come down. Kane refuses to move. Watson shakes his head with a smirk. Before Chris can react, he drops Britt down with a Replay, right onto the steel ring steps! Chris flies into a rage, charging the ring and diving at Ace. The two roll on the ground, Ace trying to get his hands up at Chris rains down punch after punch. Security vaults over the rail, swarming the ring to pull the two apart. Chris thrashes and kicks, fighting out of their holds to get at Ace again. More security rushes from the back, keeping the situation controlled. The two yell at each other, Ace taunting him, Chris swinging wildly, trying to get at him. The show fades to a scene backstage.
Chuck is being tended to by medical personnel. Ella Cross stands nearby, her trusty clipboard in hand as she looks on. Chuck is still out. He rests, heavy bandages wrapped around his torso where Dane had kicked his ribs in. He looks over at his assistant.
Ella Cross
They think you may have broken something.
Chuck Matthews
I’ll bounce back from it. Always do.
Ella Cross
Anything I can get you?
Chuck shakes his head, grunting in pain as he tries to sit up. He gives up, slumping back down.
Chuck Matthews
This is what I hired you for, Miss Cross.
Ella frowns, cocking her head curiously.
Ella Cross
To watch you get maimed by your employees?
Chuck laughs, but it’s cut off by a pained groan. He shakes his head.
Chuck Matthews
I’m out for the rest of the night. The show is yours now. Finish strong.
Ella looks concerned, but nods slowly.
Ella Cross
Of course.
Before the match, Ella Cross emerged to reveal that Nessa Wall was once again utilizing the power of her briefcase to alter the match. For this bout, Gray Malone would start in the ring, and was not allowed to tag out to Jason Hawk.
Tag Team Match
Nessa’s Choice
D'Angelo Blackwell & Nessa Wall VS Gray Malone & Jason Hawk
D'Angelo Blackwell & Nessa Wall VS Gray Malone & Jason Hawk
Gray and Hawk seemed less than thrilled by Nessa’s decree. Gray, never one to back down from a fight, still got into the ring, ready to take on D’Angelo Blackwell. D’lo and Gray brawled it out in the center of the ring, the two well-rounded wrestlers turning it into a slugfest in the early going. A hard left from Gray sent D’Angelo stumbling to the corner. He frowned, but tagged in Nessa, who vaulted in and went at Gray with a Thesz press, raining punches down before Malone bucked her off. He grabbed her from behind, taking her to the mat with a full nelson slam. Gray went for a cover. One… kickout by Wall. Gray lifted her to her feet. Nessa drove an elbow to Gray’s jaw. She followed with a well-placed savate kick to the knee, which buckled Gray. Nessa took a few steps back and came forward with a snap kick to the side of the head. She went for a cover of her own. One… tw- Kickout by Malone. Gray and Nessa continued the fight while Hawk paced impatiently on the apron, trying to get the crowd fired up. The audience was dead to Hawk, ignoring him entirely as Gray continued to fight. Nessa tagged out to Blackwell. He came in at Gray, who was growing increasingly tired as he fended off the two-on-one. Hawk finally saw enough. He hopped down from the apron, finding his black briefcase at ringside, placed next to Nessa’s silver and green Millennium Case. He seized the briefcase and slid into the ring. Nessa dove in to intercept him. Hawk ran forward, slamming the briefcase into Wall’s face, taking her down. The referee instantly called for the bell. WINNER: D’Angelo Blackwell & Nessa Wall BY: Disqualification, 7:02 |
Hawk turned to see D’lo get up off the mat, looking around at what had happened. He spots Hawk with the case. Before he can do anything, Gray grabs him, lifting him up and dropping him straight on his head with his signature You Lose! Hawk grins, finally popping open his briefcase. He digs inside and retrieves… a cat-o’-nine-tails. He looks at the crowd, expecting a reaction… ANY reaction. He grits his teeth and brings the whip hard across Nessa’s back. She screams out as the knots dig into her skin. The crowd falls silent, watching as Hawk raises the whip again. Security again charges the ring to put a stop to it. Hawk spots it and slides from the ring, heading back up the ramp. Gray watches on, frowning at Hawk, but eyeing the whip curiously. Security checks on D’lo and Nessa as the show goes backstage.
Ace Watson
No, there’re many many reasons why I did it.
The feed abruptly cuts to a camera approaching a post-match Ace Watson and an angry looking man in a suit. We seem to have jumped into a conversation that had already been going on for a while before. Watson’s tone and body language gives off a condescending vibe, and while he sounds angry and hyped up, he’s still very calculated in the way he speaks.
Ace Watson
For one thing I sent a message. To everyone who still uses my title drought against me. Who still look for ANY chance to mention it in hopes they’ll get a bunch of likes and retweets from their arse kissing buddies.
He wipes some sweat off his forehead.
Ace Watson
And not only that, it proves that I can win a Championship. Everyone knew it already but now it is undeniable. I could’ve walked out of that match as Cloud Gate Champion, you’d be here patting me on the back and shaking my hand, but instead you’re here moaning and whining at me because you had graphics made with me and the title on them... But I chose not to take that pin. I could’ve done it, Kane was gone. All I had to do was roll her into that ring, cover and done. But I’m aiming higher. That Millennium Championship is looking very appetising. And knowing that I’ve already beaten the one who holds it is only more encouragement to have my eyes on the top prize. I know I deserve a shot at it, I know I can beat Yang. I don’t care how long it takes for me to get it, but that match will be mine.
Watson takes a moment to pause, before cracking a smile and laughing.
Ace Watson
Plus, did you see Christopher’s face?
He laughed harder.
Ace Watson
That alone made waiting a bit longer to add a Championship to my accolades all worth it. And the security too, getting there so quickly... Almost as if it was planned!
Ace looked at the camera watching the conversation, a smug look on his face. He practically winked at the camera, without as much as a flutter of an eyelid. Then his attention went back to the man in front of him, who’s body language gave away how he’d rather be somewhere else right now.
Ace Watson
I’m looking forward to hearing Christopher’s many conspiracy theories about tonight, and how it’s all Chuck’s fault. That’ll be a great watch, it always is.
He chuckled softly to himself, before looking at a clock nearby and realising the time.
Ace Watson
Anyway, I must run along. Things to do. Have a nice night.
He forced a smile, before then stepping in close towards the man opposite him. The camera zoomed in. Ace’s teeth gritted.
Ace Watson
And don’t ever fucking question me again.
Watson grabbed the man’s shoulder, a tight grip for a moment before patting him a couple of times, then disappearing off-screen. The scene faded out.
The show returns to the ring as “Whistle” by Blackpink starts to play. The fans cheer before singing/whistling along to the catchy intro. Ho Wei Shen, also known as Jennifer Yang’s manager and fiancé, makes his appearance on stage first with a big grin on his face. He’s dressed in his signature smart suit look and looks around the arena with appreciation. He then steps aside and gestures towards the curtains. The crowd gets excited when the new Millennium champion herself steps through the curtains. The reaction is loud and welcoming, which both surprises and touches Jennifer. She unfastens the Millennium title from her waist and raises up high above her head. After posing for the cameras, Wei then escorts Jennifer to the ring.
The Cleveland fans keep up the cheers as the two enter the ring. While Jennifer poses for more cameras, Wei requests for a microphone before joining her in the centre. Wei takes Jennifer by the hand and looks over at her admiringly. The music starts to fade here as Wei holds the microphone to his lips.
Ho Wei Shen
Ladies and gentlemen, it is my great pleasure and honor to introduce to all of you now, to the NEW Millennium champion… Jennifer Yang!
The crowd once again erupts in cheers, almost making Jennifer herself blush. She gives them a respectful bow then smiles appreciatively at Wei.
Ho Wei Shen
It’s been a long journey for Jennifer, and tonight she stands before you, also, the new FACE of Millennium Wrestling!
He raises her hand as she hoists the Millennium championship belt for everyone to see. The fans applaud with joy. Wei nods while surveying the crowd before speaking again, his hand on his heart now.
Ho Wei Shen
As I’ve predicted, Battle Cry was a phenomenal show and the main event was the greatest made for the Millennium championship. Despite the unfortunate injury sustained by Eliza Valentine, the match was a true success. Not just for Jennifer, but also Millennium as a whole.
He pauses to flash a smile, as if he carries a secret, at the attentive crowd. Jennifer merely nods in silence by his side.
Ho Wei Shen
What does that mean? Well, it’s simple, you see. While Eliza’s 157-day title record is an impressive accomplishment, Jennifer’s victory last night marks a new chapter in Millennium history. The top title isn’t the only championship that has changed hands, in fact it’s all three. Which means, the entire landscape of the competition has now shifted. Greatly. This is when things get really interesting. Exciting too! The next batch of challengers will be stepping up and that’s where Jennifer thrives. Jennifer has never backed down from any fight and she isn’t going to start now.
Jennifer grins as the crowd cheers.
Ho Wei Shen
Not even the showcase match tonight. Kate Steele, once again, congratulations on becoming the new Lockdown champion. We hope you receive the flowers alright. Despite the odds, including the strangeness of the match stipulation, Kate walked out with a well-fought victory. And it is that tenacity that has been a common quality in Jennifer and Kate, which is why they’re here tonight at the top of their game.
Jennifer nods in agreement. The fans voice their appreciation for the positive mark of sportsmanship.
Ho Wei Shen
I promise each and every one of you that this showcase match will not just be a showcase of that very quality, but also how the two women have evolved over the past nine months to become the main-eventers they are today. I assure you that they will not disappoint. They. Will. Deliver.
Wei’s smile grows wider with each emphasised word in deliberate fashion.
Ho Wei Shen
Jennifer’s work is far from over, ladies and gentlemen… No, I’m not talking to this lovely Cleveland crowd.
The fans look back quizzically before Wei turns to face the stage and points, with a smirk.
Ho Wei Shen
I’m talking to the wrestlers in the back. Yes, this is for whomever is considering to elevate their careers, push themselves or even simply feeling hungry for something new. Watch tonight’s main event and study. Who knows, you’ll be here across from Jennifer very soon. And if you want that opportunity, I, for one, strongly encourage you to step forward and speak up. You will be rewarded.
The smirk turns into a full-on dazzling smile as he concludes his speech. Unlike at Battle Cry, Wei doesn’t offer Jennifer the chance to speak. Instead, he steps aside and nods to the cameras that immediately start flashing to take more pictures of her with the Millennium championship before the match begins.
Showcase Match
Jennifer Yang (c) VS Kate Steele (c) The crowd was behind Jennifer Yang unanimously, thrilled at their new face of Millennium Wrestling. Jennifer looked as talented as ever as the match got underway, showing off the same skill that had allowed her to defeat both Nora Foley and then, at Battle Cry, the unstoppable Eliza Valentine herself. Kate Steele wasn’t going down without a fight though. Steele took Jenni down quick, trying to wear the Millennium Champion down with her array of submission holds. Yang, no stranger to technical wrestling herself, managed to work out of Kate’s figure-four, turning her over and cranking pressure on the legs of the Lockdown champion. Kate grasped the rope, forcing the break. Both ladies were up quickly. Steele was immediately back on the attack, trying to bring down Jennifer Yang as Wei Shen watched on from ringside. Yang survived the onslaught, retreating to the corner, forcing Kate to back away. Jennifer climbed to the second rop and leaped off with a European uppercut. She rolled over for a quick pin… kickout at two from Kate Steele. Kate was back up. The two tied up in the ring before Kate pulled her in with a side headlock. She took her down with a snapmare, holding Jenni in with a sleeper. Jennifer faded for just a moment before collecting herself enough. She threw her head back, her skull colliding with Kate’s nose. Kate clamped harder on the hold, tightening her grip. Jenni bashed her again, and this time, Steele was forced to let go. Jenni stood. Kate grabbed her by the wrist, throwing her to the ropes. Jenni rebounded back with a calf kick that took her down. As the match came to a close, Kate found herself reeling after a flurry of strong kicks from the Millennium Champion. She tossed Kate to the corner. Jenni charged in, driving a knee to the skull that dropped Kate. Jennifer retreated. As Kate slowly stood, stumbling to the center of the ring, Jennifer darted in. Steele sidestepped it, and went for a roundhouse. Jennifer scouted the move, ducking the kick and spinning out behind Kate. Kate turned around, right into a flurry of knees and punches from Jennifer, topped with that signature switchblade kick… #LOCKDOWN! Kate dropped and Jennifer hooked the legs. One… two… three! WINNER: Jennifer Yang BY: Pinfall, 15:56 |
The Millennium Championship was handed back to Jenni, who raised it high over her head. On stage, Ella Cross emerged, jotting something down on her clipboard. Jennifer and Wei Shen looked on, noticing the interim General Manager’s behavior. Ella chews thoughtfully on the end of her pen, smirking to herself as she reads what she’s written. She eyes the Millennium Champion and gives a respectful clap for her. Jennifer stares up the ramp at her, making direct eye contact as she raises the belt high to the deafening cheers of the crowd as the show ends.
