The Gym:
Millie is currently carrying a very light present under her arm as she makes her way through the less traffic corridor of the academy towards the gym/workout area. She was still showing a straight faced expression as her currently appointed tutor wasn't exactly ideal. Nonetheless, it was his birthday and Millie had gone out of her way to get him something on her time off. She wore a light brown jacket, over a black and white striped shirt and a visible black waist jacket underneath to handle the Chicago weather. Along with some black denim pants and her slightly heeled boots. She finally makes her way to the door and gently opens it up. Inside she finds Dez with his headphones on doing some independent training. Millie tries her absolutely best not to startle him, and chooses to roll a ball someone had left lying on the stack of mats to draw his attention. Once she had it, she politely waves hello.
Millie Smith:
Hey hey!
As the ball slightly touches his leg Dez Ali turns to see Millie Smith waving at him with a slight smile possibly forced on her face. The shirtless birthday boy Dez Ali wearing a long black UA cargo joggers pants, all black Under Armour Curry 3's and black workout gloves, takes off his Beats headphones as he walks up to her and Millie Smith slows down her approach. Dez looks at her and at the gift wrapped present present with a big bow she is holding.
Dez Ali:
What's that?!
Millie Smith:
It's a gift, a birthday gift, um, for you.
Millie then pulls the gift right out in front of her and gently extends it out. There's no strain on her arms, as Dez gathers it's not too heavy.
Millie Smith:
Happy birthday, Dez.
She then let's it be taken out of her grasp and hopes maybe it'd make things easier, maybe build a little ease between them and stop him being so hard on her. Dez looks at it and then at her. He then focuses on the gift he is now holding and begins to open it, by first ripping to bow off and then the gift wrap paper. It soon becomes apparent that he is holding a white teddy bear, wearing a black t-shirt with the letters MVP in white printed on it. Dez looks at it, and then at Millie.
Millie Smith:
You like it?
Dez begins smile and mumbles to himself repeating "If I like it". Suddenly he stops and looks right at Millie.
Dez Ali:
This is low, even for you little girl. Trying to bribe me with a cute little teddy bear with a t-shirt that says MVP.
Millie becomes startled and speechless. Her head lowers a little bit, her face starts to turn a little red out of embarrassment. One hand tries to find a drawstring but she wasn't wearing a hoody she could hide away in.
Millie Smith:
You don't like it...
Dez Ali:
Should I?!
Millie Smith:
I thought you would have liked it, being that it's your birthday and you are The MVP.
Dez Ali:
Well I think it's garbage, just like you and your cute Cinderella dream of becoming a wrestler. But hey, don't worry, thats why I am here for.
Once again being mean to the probably the nicest individual in The Academy. Ali rips the t-shirt off the teddy bear and drops the bear to the ground, in front of their feet. His words and actions stung a little. Millie's eyes watered up, her hands hold one another, her lip is on the verge of quivering, but certainly curled downward.
Millie Smith:
I-I-I
Dez Ali:
You-you what?
She thinks for barely a moment before she picks up the shirtless teddy at her feet.
Millie Smith:
I was just trying to be nice. I'll go train somewhere else.
Which is when Millie began to turn around... Dez grabs her by the arm with a tight grip. She turns around, by now her tears rolls down her face.
Dez Ali:
I didn't tell you that you can turn your back on me and walk off. It's disrespectful to your MVP. Do you understand?
Millie simply nods keeping her eyes focused on the floor, gripping hold of the teddy bear.
Dez Ali:
And another thing, if you are crying now, what will you be doing when I am done with you in the ring? You should have save your tears for later this week. It's just a suggestion by your tutor who has your best interest first.
Millie Smith:
Are you done? Can I go?
Millie has her head down, avoiding eye contact with The MVP. Dez notices this and smiles. He then gets extremely close to her and whispers in her ear.
Dez Ali:
Nice guys and girls in this case always finish last, not first.
The MVP raises her chin to see her eyes and he surprisingly wipes her tears away with his hand. Millie's eyes follow his thumb wiping under her eye and turns her head confused by what is happening, and what he said.
Millie Smith:
What are you...I... finish last?
She sensed there is something behind that, some hidden meaning that left her heart in her throat about their upcoming match up as she takes a step back from him. Dez Ali realizes her reluctance to get close to him, his response? He steps forward to keep to close distance as Millie back is now against the wall. He places his hand on the wall, arm stretched out next to Millie. He smiles as he looks at her, trying to make eye contact with Millie who have been trying to avoid his eyes.
Dez Ali:
Do not flatter yourself.
She finally makes eye contact with The MVP. Dez smiles.
Dez Ali:
There it is. That moment you probably saw a glimmer of hope disappearing. What does it say at the entrance of Hell? .....Abandon all hope? You should consider that for our match.
He sighs.
Dez Ali:
Here is the thing, I will make it right, I will make it all right. But until then.....
He whiles the remaining tears away from her face, before swiping her hair from her face.
Dez Ali:
Save the tears for our match. Yuh going to need them.
He grabs the teddy bear and drops the head off of it.
Millie Smith:
No!!!!!
He drops it on the ground as she stoops down and picks it up before standing back up looking at the severed head of the teddy bear.
Dez Ali:
That's you, this Friday.
Millie Smith:
Why?
Dez Ali:
Why I did that?! That is your lesson. Why did Dez Ali destroyed his birthday gift.
I think I just want to close it off on one line from Millie
Millie Smith:
I don't understand.
An emotional Millie mutters to herself as he walks past her, leaving her to the pieces that remain of her gift as she begins to cry again.
