The Principal's Office February 3, 2021 9:00 AM
Quite the busy morning for Gianluigi Vaccaro, who just spent the last forty minutes having a conversation with the troublesome Olly. The principal was pacing his office, in his hand a glass of scotch he just poured himself from a bottle he keeps in a small cabinet. Not an usual drinker, definitely not this early in the morning, the Italian businessman only conceded himself a shot to calm his nerves or when he needed to think. Hard to tell which one was today, a sudden knock at the door immediately changing the expression on his face.
Gianluigi Vaccaro: Please, come in.
He said as he put his drink, still untouched, on the shelf of the bookcase, walking back to the chair behind the big mahogany desk and taking a seat as he waited for the guest to enter.
Almost immediately, the door swung open, pushed by the increasingly problematic Tiana. Fresh from her morning workout, she hadn’t even taken the time to change out of her gear. She pushed the door shut behind her and didn’t even move to take a seat, instead standing by the door with her arms crossed.
Tiana: I don’t know why Linc said I had to be here, but can we make this quick?
Gian looked at the former Gold Star, her body language unequivocally telling that she didn’t want to be here, and only accepted his invitation to accommodate her agent’s request.
Gianluigi Vaccaro: This is exactly why I wanted to see you. Please, come and take a seat.
The principal replied in a calm tone, breaking a slight smile and motioning at the chair in front of him.
Tiana: I’m fine standing, thanks. Let’s just get to it.
She leaned back against the door, propping a foot against it for no other reason than to show she wasn’t budging. She stared at Gian, the typical sweet look in her eyes nowhere to be found, instead replaced with the annoyed eyes of someone feeling kept back. Gian didn’t even flinch, pushing himself up from his chair and walking in front of Tiana.
Gianluigi Vaccaro: I like to look in someone’s eyes when I talk to them.
He spoke, staring at the young student.
Gianluigi Vaccaro: You look very nervous lately, Tiana. I’m not asking you why, I’m pretty sure I already know the answer. What I want to know is what we can do to change it and bring back your old self.
Tiana scowled as if he’d just insulted her mother, her arm twitched as if she was going to lash out and strike Gian, but her better judgement saved the day and instead she just drove her foot into the door, pushing herself forward.
Tiana: I’m not nervous about a damn thing. I’m frustrated, and you already know why. I told Lincoln this was a waste of time and here you are, already proving me right.
Gianluigi Vaccaro: But this is not just about Karen, is it? It started with Dez and Olly, it continued with someone who has nothing to do with the Academy, and it’s still going on a smaller scale with some of your teammates over the situation with Tiffany.
Contrary to Tiana, Gian is perfectly calm. He was talking to her almost like a father would, trying to get through that wall Tiana put between them.
Gianluigi Vaccaro: I’m here to help you, Tiana. Not just today, but for all the time you’ll stay in The Academy. Everything I do, I do it in your best interest, I hope you understand that.
Tiana: Got it. So it’s in my best interest to sit by and let people like Dez and Faith say and do whatever they want to whoever they want. Or for Karen to constantly belittle everything we do because she’s fucking trash. I don’t think so, and if you think that’s how I operate, just shred my contract now and I’ll go home.
She turned her back to him, reaching for the door.
Tiana: I’ve spent most of my life being walked on, and I’m just a bit tired of it, so if you’re not part of the solution then you’re just part of the problem.
Gianluigi Vaccaro: I have no interest in shredding the contract of one, if not the, most promising prospect in the Academy.
Tiana turned her head to look back at the principal.
Gianluigi Vaccaro: But I won’t stop you if that’s what you want.
He paused for a moment, letting his words sink.
Gianluigi Vaccaro: I’m not asking you to lay down and let them walk over you, far from it. But I expect you to be smart and not let them get into your head. There will be a time and a place for you to prove Karen wrong and shut her up without ruining your career in the process.
Tiana: Then maybe tell her to stop running her mouth before I do more than just ruin my career.
She swung the door open, taking a second to look back at Gian.
Tiana: I’m not who you signed, not anymore, and if that’s going to continue being a problem you know what you can do.
Without so much as waiting for an answer, she left the office, making sure to slam the door behind her in the process.
Singles Match
Millie Smith VS Dez Ali
- The referee brought both competitors to the centre of the ring, Dez smiled at Millie and asked her if she was ready for the "lesson". Smith nodded her head and the bell rang.
- Ali peppered the opponent with quick punches that Millie, despite trying her best to protect herself, could not avoid, recoiling back against the ropes. Ali sent her against the ropes with an irish whip and sent her flying over his head with a back body drop.
- Ali's superiority in the striking department was evident, and despite the peculiar relationship between the two of them, he wasn't going easy on his student, landing a flurry of quick uppercuts, showing off a decent boxing background, and a bicycle kick to knock Smith down.
- Dez was talking a lot tonight. But it wasn't trash talk as you'd expect from him, it looked like he was trying to motivate the shy opponent.
- Finally Millie blocked one of those punches and twisted his arm and sprinted toward the corner to connect a springboard arm drag.
- Millie was taking courage, her offense becoming more insistent and therefore dangerous. With a big roundhouse kick she took Dez down and made the cover for her first near fall.
- Dez countered a running crossbody attempt into a powerslam, but Smith kicked out in two.
- After a flatliner, Millie climbed to the top rope, ready to take flight with the sparkle splash. But it was way too soon, and Dez easily rolled out of the way.
- With Milllie in the corner, Dez went for a body splash, transitioning through the ropes and onto the apron. He then waited until Smith got up to her feet and jumped back in with a springboard clothesline.
- Dez came close to the win once again with a codebreaker, but Smith showed great mind presence and raised her boot on the bottom rope, receiving the compliments from her "mentor" as well.
- Ali was going for an elctric chair driver, but Millie countered it with a victory roll and almost got the win.
- Shades of her brother Dean in the Bahama Baby's diving knee strike that caught Dez on the side of the head. The MVP still kicked out in two.
- Ali's striking ability was on full display in the end, rapid fire boxing combinations alternated to forearm and elbow strikes. And a superman punch that knocked Millie out, giving the "master" a win on his "student".

Team Title Match Tornado Tag TeamTeam Strike © (Tiana Petrova-Hammond & JJ Night) VS Team Ali (Trinity Thompson & Rian Ellis)
- The referee reminded the rules to the four students involved in the first ever Tornado Tag Team match. As soon as the match started, the two ladies locked up while JJ and Rian began trading shots.
- Ellis threw the former The Kid over the top rope and out of the ring. He then went to help his partner, in clear difficulty against Tiana, clubbing the russian-american from behind and holding her in a waistlock, using the momentum of Trin's superkick to suplex the former Gold Star.
- Outnumbered, Tiana was trying to hold her ground against the combined attack of Thopson and Ellis. JJ came to her rescue with a springboard dropkick to Trinity, taking one opponent off her. Petrova-Hammond did the rest with a push kick that sent Rian against the ropes and bouncing back into a bicycle knee strike.
- JJ attempted to take Trinity over with a suplex but she slipped out of his grip and took him backward with an O’Connor roll. Night kicked out in one and immediately cracked Thompson with a roundhouse kick, making a cover of his own. Ellis saved his partner.
- The four competitors kept the referee quite busy with quick pinfalls attempts and counters, a backslide pin on Tiana by Rian almost got the martial artist, who barely kicked out a moment before the three.
- A superkick from Tiana sent Trinity through the ropes. Petrova-Hammond then turned around in time to see Rian charging at her and halting him with a jumping knee. Ellis stumbled back into an hurricanrana from JJ that sent him in the corner. Tiana charged at him with a full head of steam and hit him with another knee to the face, pushing him into JJ's codebreaker. Rian seemed out but luckily for him Trinity made it back in time to save him.
- Trinity surely had kept practicing her tribute to Tiff Rollins, and her own version of the Death Kick after the five shoot kicks to the chest sent JJ in dreamland, but Tiana broke up the pin.
- Rian darted forward and blasted Tiana with a dropkick to the back of the head, accidentally sending her against his partner. This left him to deal with JJ Night who charged at him with a clothesline that Rian ducked effortlessly. As he turned around though, he saw the opponent flying toward him with a springboard crossbody. Ellis kicked out in time.
- Tiana took Trinity out with a spinning heel kick, and she could have probably won the match there and then if she hadn't to save JJ from a jackknife hold pin. The chosen duo from Team Strike then tried to work together against Rian, but there was simply no chemistry between them and Ellis took advantage of the miscommunication to take both of them out with a double clothesline.
- A beautiful diving moonsault from Rian deserved better luck, but Tiana once again saved JJ.
- Trinity came back into the match with a storm of kick and punches. Night went down after a roundhouse, but he still managed to kick out.
- With Team Ali now in control, Thompson and Ellis attempted a Russian legsweep/STO combination on Tiana. The former champion raised her shoulder in two.
- With a cutter from out of nowhere, JJ took Trinity out. And since Tiana was still recovering from Team Ali's combined attacks, it was now down to him and Rian.
- Ellis tried to powerbomb JJ onto the turnbuckle, but Night managed to counter it and send the man head first against the corner. On the opposite side of the ring Tiana and Trinity were back on their feet and trading strikes, the former Gold Star, unsurprisingly, coming out on top.
- The former Kid rolled up the stunned Rian and leaned against the ropes for leverage, keeping Ellis down for the three. The referee didn't see the misconduct, and he didn't see that Thompson surprised Petrova-Hammond with an inside cradle either. He gave the win to team Ali, but it wasn't without controversy. Not only for the foot on the ropes but also because, as the replay confirmed, the two pinfalls took place simultaneously, perhaps the one he counted happened actually a fraction of second later than Trinity's one on Tiana.
